"Had formed back in twenty fourteen as a private sector economic development group They were their aim was to cover. Both larimer and weld counties They took over Really for the the old meet northern colorado economic development corporation which had existed for quite a few years and That that had resulted from the merger of organizations in fort collins loveland but One no co A has officially decided to disband. And they will distribute their remaining resources about forty thousand dollars to the fort collins loveland and greeley chambers of commerce as well as the northern colorado legislative alliance So it it really has changed the landscape for the economic development efforts for northern colorado of course there is a really based upstate colorado economic development. Which has focused mainly on brilliant weld county but upstate also is working with her has been working with a lot of other organizations and governments including lamoure county and economic economic development officials within different cities around larimer and well counties There's a program called northern colorado. Ready are edi. That's not an organization. But really collaboration. And i think that's where the focus will be going forward in terms of regional economic development initiatives. We'll so does this mean that. This kind of leaves an opening here northern car. "So we know what the demographic is but it would you say. It's the minority people who are nervous coming back in for me For at least for what i see. I think it's probably about thirty percent of the outcome in our little. Hasn't you know they. They come in wearing their masks. And they wear their masks all the way to their seats and That's your to me. That's a significant portion. That are still quite hesitant yet. Yeah i'm probably the same for us But i think there's surrounding communities that Larimer county being one of them had a little bit stricter mass mandate them well county Had throughout the whole thing right to so. I think people that are used to Coming from or going to places in fort collins loveland or in those areas are a little more usa. Just you just automatically put your mask on when you walk inside become second nature. Yeah we were in fort collins on sunday just hitting some shops and we went over to crooked stave and in a couple of other berries. Peop- you know. A lot of people are still inside. wear their masks and in a lot of the restaurants still require That you wear your mask to get to table and it's probably not a bad idea at this stage of the game to just be a little bit more cautious because you don't know i mean fifty percent of the people have been vaccinated but what about the other fifty percent right. I don't know if the staff or ever gonna wanna give him up because then people can see their faces. Unruly customer sticking their tongue out at some. So you know now. Larimer county is one hundred percent capacity. No social distancing unknown math mandate that came down as well. That was effective. Starting on monday That mask mandate doesn't fall into place because they're following along with the state guidelines and recommendations. So that's i mean that's a big change for as strict as larimer county was with it. That's a huge change. While you're gonna it's gonna take some time for all everywhere to kind of implementing and decide what's best for their their operation so like. I said sunday there are a lot of places we're still you know requesting social distancing there still not one hundred based on the size of the place You could tell they weren't at full capacity yet and there's still a lot of mask wearing going on a lot of at full capacity still is based upon how many employees you have to sure absolutely absolutely well and then what what. I'm wondering now is you know. We'll be the local businesses. That and i think it will. It'll be the local businesses started. Peel back these restrictions. I but you could own a lot of these chains. They're still going to keep the mask mandate in place. I mean that that's going to be around for the nationwide chain because the rules are so different from state to state you know. They just want to a constant message throughout the company..

"Yes if if you know who this is old. He was born and raised in. Elbert lena some that they have a little honorary statue for eddie cochran. He was a rocker in the fifties. I love this. He did it at some other. Good stuff but this was his main song summertime blues. Yeah 'cause trying to make a dollar and he can't in can't go to work because of course he was sick and say you can't go out because you just didn't work a lick. It is being a teenager in the fifties was such trauma. Dear well i end to tell you that. I have a little show here on sunday mornings this sunday morning. At eight o'clock right here on northern colorado's voice thirteenth aka. I'm going to do my show called senior circle and we talk about. Things somewhat usually pertain to seniors. Not exclusively. But that's what the name of the show is a talk a lot about travel. So if you like to travel you don't wanna miss my show but this time i was concerned about something that i saw in the aarp bulletin and of course the a apart r. p. that's that's for retired persons. The american association retired persons or something like that. That's what a r p stands for. But anyway they sent out a bulletin. I'm a member. So i'm i'm not too wild about politics but i i liked their health insurance so i belong aright. Here's an here's an email. I got yesterday at my own email. Alright this says thank you for shopping with amazon dot com. This is a confirmation text that your order number well in this game as an email but they said it was a taxed or a number one one by blah blah of foreign. Lg refrigerator has been shipped to get more details on shipment please contact and then he gives a one eight hundred eight six six number or one one eight six six is at its forget the eight hundred a it's a. It's a toll free number. That's what i'm trying to tell you to call that number. You know what happens if you call that number. I don't know exactly. But i'll betcha know what happens. They say oh well. We must have a mistake here. Somehow we have an order here for you. One one one seven ever blah blah blah so in order to get this cancelled. We're gonna need some information so that we can properly get. This order cancelled for you where we're so sorry so sorry that this happened But all you need to do is give us everything you know your birthday. Your bank account numbers your goosebumps know all that stuff. They're fishing for information from people and often they send this out to people who they know are old now they no. I'm old because i am. It's just yes some will do women ever tell their age. But but i'm not either. I'm just old okay. But nonetheless i get this stuff all right now. Here's the problem if you look at where this email came from. Here's the address that it came from amazon. A r d. a d. A are are seeing it. That's what it says. D. a. r. s. h. i. s. i n. g. h. That sounds like it's from. India doesn't it lot of scams come from india and then it says gee mail dot com. They only put amazon at the beginning of it. Because they want you to think it's from amazon but it's not it's from somebody in india who's trying to get your personal information when you call that number. Dear was a story in the aarp bulletin recently about scams and how especially older people are scammed out of all kinds of money. An on my show on sunday. I'm going to go into that in detail as to exactly the kinds of things that they do and you don't have to be old to get scammed by this and you don't have to have a room temperature. Iq to get scanned by this. You can be an intelligent person. Who's concerned that. There's an order here that you didn't place then. You need to get that fixed in by golly this person on the they're so good at talking to you. Well if you need an extra minute take him. You need to go for a drink of water. Need to go the bathroom copy here. How's your mom. Oh your voice sounds so you sound much younger than that. Yeah that's the kind of stuff they pull on you. Then they try to gain your confidence in the next thing. You know you're spilling information and they drain your bank account or charging gazillion dollars your credit card or whatever. It's so sad when these kinds of things happen but catch my show at eight o'clock right here on sunday morning and i'm going to go into a lot of detail about the kinds of things that they do to scan you and and then no sooner than i'd been doing the background for that sh the show that i'm going to do the show on sunday. Then i get this in the email. An email happens all the time. You probably get these two just zappa. Just toss them in your spam folder and zap them. Don't call don't do anything. If amazon really wanted to get a hold of you you would know why because you would have done business with them and it wouldn't say amazon at adar sing. Whatever that person Spelled it for you can't pronounce it but but anyway seven six four three gmail.com con me con man. There's a lady who there's a picture of her on her computer camera holding a box a shipping box with ten thousand dollars in cash in it that she was going to send these people. Fortunately somebody caught that. They took over the whole thing before she as she already shipped it. But before it got delivered they got to the people at fedex and fedex pulled the shipment. This lady was sending somebody ten thousand dollars in cash. And i don't know the details of what kind of scam. That was but that person must have been one heck of a scammer in order to get somebody to cough up that kind of money usually tell you your grandson's in jail and you need to send bail money. I've always told my kids you're getting jail. You're on your own. You figure it out. Don't bother me dot go bail you out and guess what none of my kids have ever been in jail but just told don't don't even try don't even know don't even make the call. I'll let you rot there. We get the latest on the transition taking place in Washington in about Operation work, speed, all the politics all the science. It's coming up in a moment. We'll talk with ABC News is recline right now. The drive checking over John Morrissey. Starting to see that he's bound to 70 Dr. Load up a little bit right around York you drive this morning for the most part is pretty good. We got a light dusting for the most part around the metro area, but things very greatly from one side of town to the other. This morning, you'll see more snow up against the foothills to the west of town. So a very slick Dr West to see 4 70 getting into the foothills. We've had some chain laws and traction laws long that I 70 drive and along to 85, some of them have been dropped. The traction laws were dropped on to 85 between sea forces. Nobody and Pine Junction. So that's an indication that the plow crews are doing the job getting out there getting it done and making it a better drive. But you could still run into a slick spot for sure around the metro area, bridges and ramps, for example, and certainly West of C 4 70 heading up into the foothills that includes that drive on US six heading up the Black Hawk. On 1 19 heading up from Boulder. Also, you drive on 36 boulder up toward lions, Northern Colorado. Probably got a little bit more snow than we did so round four Collins Loveland Long month out toward Greely up toward the state line. Wyoming state line Definitely gonna be slicker. You're gonna run into some fog two up in the mountains down toward Douglas County. A slicker drive a little bit higher in elevation. So from C 4 70 south on I 25 But pay most attention to your bridges and Rams this morning. We're doing pretty good. As far as accidents go, haven't seen any big problems. There is one problem when I 70 the Bedford sports traffic, So that's a closure of westbound. I 70 in West Glenwood. That's a crash. Their semi flipped over. But for us in the Metro area, pretty decent drive. We got some snow overnight, not a ton. And definitely going to be a possibility of a slick spot, but not a superstar full on slick drive. "KFI K A. Dark billowing smoke blanketing much of northern Colorado as ash rained down yesterday after winds drove explosive growth of that cameron peak fire. Now, the largest wildfire in Colorado history growing more than twenty thousand acres. Since Tuesday, it is now listed at one hundred, Fifty, eight, thousand, three, hundred acres with fifty six percent containment. Now, this is according to a facebook update last night working for peace by miles blunt hearts Kelly lyle out of the Fort Collins Colorado in this morning, it was shocking wasn't it? I was actually driving. To and fro up to Fort Collins and returning. Around ten thirty or so, and I like so many others pulled off the road got out of our cars. Of course, we were safely up the road I mean we're not stopping traffic or anything like that but it was like we were shellshocked. Did you feel that way yesterday as it was just that? Fix billowing. Cameron fire and it was that dark smoke which meant, yes, structures were impacted. Now we don't know how many structures at this point, but we'll get into what we do know and I had to shake my head because I came across well here. Let me pull this up where I came across this headline. From a Denver, news outlet K. Cameron peak fire has flared up. But where's the smoke? Hey y'all might want to look past the confines of Denver because it was visible from Denver. I mean particularly Greeley Loveland Fort Collins much of Larimer county talked to so many people yesterday as we just stood there in shock watching this monster of ablaze. Fire made another huge run east on Wednesday again. Let's set at one hundred, Fifty, eight, thousand three hundred acres making it the largest wildfire in Colorado history. It's now surpassed another twenty thousand fire. That's the Pine Gulch fire for the largest in the state's history Pine Gulch fire near Grand Junction reached one, hundred, thirty, nine, thousand, seven acres before it was fully contained. In late September now Larimer County Justin Sheriff Justin Smith. Said there were indeed structures lost on Wednesday, but it could take some time before a full assessment is made but there were wins reaching well into the seventy mile per hour range overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Causing a big run on that fire and nine new evacuation orders within twenty four hours. But back to the structures that were lost these aren't the ones that we can get to quickly said Sheriff Smith because they're in a very active fire. Looking days ahead before we're going to be able to get folks back in there now while lower temperatures are expected in the coming days, well, it's still expected to be very active fire conditions. Things will calm down a little, but we're expecting almost if not as much activity Thursday into Friday, we're not through this wave of activity yet this according to incident commander. Damn Dallas expect a couple more days of very hard days while it was a destructive day saw smoke pouring over the front range where's the smoke ASA Denver News outlet the Smith one that well, it could have been so much worse adding it was a bad day but I. Will leave you with this. It could have been very easily it could have very easily been. He reiterated that point could have been a lot worse. We had no reported injuries no deaths a lot fewer structures were impacted than we truly anticipated based on what we saw. Now, the fire has pushed clothes closer to Fort Collins much closer as well to the west side of horse tooth, reservoir but Sheriff Smith says, there's little concern about it causing any evacuations in Fort Collins. Loveland were estes park the heavy timbers that are fueling the fire. Well, they're just not they're they're not available the near to the cities that this fire actually approaches. So now, into its second month of burning the mountains west of Fort Collins fire flared as so many of us witnessed yesterday threatening scores, mountain. Homes, and sending that massive column of smoke above the northern front range. By four twenty. Yesterday afternoon, the fire had crossed a stove prairie road. This is Larimer County Road Twenty seven near Buckhorn Canyon Road County Road Forty Four H.. Officials weren't able at that point to say how far across stowe prairie road the fire had moved. An update on twitter. At Five thirty said, firefighters had been able to slow the spread of the. Fire. East of County Road Twenty seven. That's stowe. Prairie road. Saying that County Road Twenty seven was holding at that point in time. Fire actually shot east of the Colorado State University Mountain campus into that mountainous area northwest of Glenhaven by noon firefighters reported the fire was well established atop the eleven thousand foot signal mountain by two thirty yesterday afternoon. Larimer County Sheriff's Office. Had made its fifth mandatory evacuation order in twenty four hours ordering folks out of horse. Tooth Mountain Park. Bob Cat Ridge Natural Area Mason Ville over he'll drive and all of Risk Canyon including Stratton Park.
