"The third hour of the KPK outdoor show. I'm Bob Simms. Saturday's 58 a M right here on KFBK 15 30 A M on 93.1 FM. Um, I noticed all over the news this morning. There's a new study out. It serves. Lockdowns have no clear benefit. Uh, which a lot of us already knew. I mean, it's just so ridiculous. All these rules. I mean, you closed the restaurant, so it forces people in the private and family gatherings. I mean, it just doesn't make any sense. But Anyway, That's the way the most ridiculous of all, of course, is. Here's a perfect example. Come and she lick here. His Comanche leg a great leg one of my favorite legs. For a wide variety of game fish. They've got camping on the north shore camping on the South Shore. North Shore is in Amador County, which is part of the Sacramento region, South Shores and Kala, Vera's County. You can camp it, nor sure. But you can't camp it south. Sure. The dumbest thing I've ever heard of in my life. Calibers County has got to get his head out of the Sam that I mean, the health officer. The board of Supervisors. Where are the Where do they find these people? First of all camping is not ah, hotbed of spreading the virus. Second of all wild All this is going on you have everybody is under the same restrictions. There's camping allowed up. Collins Lake, There's camping 11. RV Camping Act. Rancho's Saeko Lake. In Sacramento County, but not on the south shore of Lake Comanche in Cal Avarice county. This whole thing is a fiasco. I just thought I'd pass that along to you. Um, the Feather River, Mike Searcy. Michael works the Johnsons made intact. We had his own shop for years and years in your star bait tackle, But Mike has always done a great job. He gets the details. It doesn't exaggerate. And I talked to him yesterday about the feather River and bass in Lake Orville. Mike, the Feather River. It's always a question, Mark. Whether we're going to get a good January for steelhead sometimes. Yes. Sometimes. No. This year with a lot left water coming down. I'm kind of up in the air. What can you tell us? Well, in the last couple of days. I have heard from some guys that were fishing below the green Bridge up there, Norville, Um and they were doing really good with the steelhead, especially the fly guy's name thing for him up there. Uh and and again, you know it. Zit missed. Some days are good, and some days are not that good. But they are getting some nice fish up there and the biggest fish. I heard up there was around £70 so nice fit. That's a very nice feather river. Fish is now yes. Anybody. So what's the word from the conventional fishermen? The guy's using roar nightcrawlers your spinners or something? Yeah, The road bite seems to work. OK on I've got some guys that are throwing small spinners and small crank baits and getting the fish here in the fish there. Um, Some guys have been drifting like the mad River worms. So how pink worms on getting fish on that as well. Okay. Ah! Seems to be a fair amount of fish in the river, which is good. Yeah, especially with these low water conditions. Yeah, yeah, you know, Mike over the years, even though it's early There always seems to be a few stripers in the Feather River if you heard anything this year. Yes, I have a couple of guys that go out and do some night fishing on the Feather River. And they've been picking up a fish here and there, but they're all really good size fish. I think one of them was a little bit over £20. And then the Yeah. Yeah. They had a couple of fish that they lost right at the boat. They were probably pushing £30. So.

"This is Kate que outdoor show. I'm Bob Simms. Thank you for tuning in this morning. Because of the time change her fall back an hour shooting times for waterfowl have also fallen back about an hour so We're kind of back to our Normal schedule things not quite. So We're goingto have a brief line of the show in the next couple of minutes. And I'm going to give you your shooting times, which I try to do one hour before shooting times every week, and then we'll take a break and And then talk to Chris pollster and will bear about what's going on s O bear with us now, Uh, what's going on in the world? Well, today's the opening season of Dungeons crab in the central Zone. And weather forecast was originally for Blustery seas, and you know the department official Wildlife bless their hearts allows boats to go out at midnight. On the first, which was you know, five hours ago. And set their trap. This will always be a regulation will be question for its sanity. I mean, you have 15 ft boats up in the middle of the ocean at midnight. That's a beautiful thing, but believe it or not, hundreds and hundreds of people do it. Then the last minute forecast came in, and it was very common, Beautiful Bodega Bay last night right at dark, so everybody who had canceled plans to go out and put out their pots. When I had and did it. So we are going to hear from Chris Lawrence and at 7 30 this morning. The reason we're waiting that ladies because ah lot of people will come in sector pots and then did a few hours sleep and go back out and check their pots. Okay? Crab fishing, So Chris will paint the picture for us What happened last night in the ocean at midnight. A Zai mentioned Chris Foster will join us. In about 10 minutes and will bear right after that, Um duck hunting is just Totally miserable is just miserable. And but it is every November. Lot of people are going out of state of the few people that are in some of the even the best of clubs have bad times. I mean, if the Ducks are flying now, come on. You just can't you don't have a chance at so, um, this is November. This is what we're going through. We have literally the disaster UPIN the Klamath Basin. Thanks to Ah, a very failed effort by the Bureau of Reclamation, which is nothing new. Uh, we're trying to give you details that do some research on that this week. It's just It's really a disaster. The number of dead birds do to botulism due to the bureau not providing enough water is 88. 65 60,500 dead birds. And of those, that's an estimate. Now they've been able to collect about half that many and or at sea or collect out that many, and they have figured for years of that. What they conceal and collect is about half the birds that actually die from botulism and of the latest collection period. Which we can because we have nothing else to go on. We can apply these percentages. Ah, we figure that of those 60,500 birds, including ducks and shore birds that have died. 37% of those Our mallards. And that is a true disaster. Because by far most of the Mallard you give in your daily bag limit in the Sacramento in San Joaquin Valley. Are born and raised in California. And so the Bureau of Reclamation has slowly but surely destroyed the Klamath Basin as faras, a staging area for waterfowl. This is just inexcusable on our politicians sit on their hands and do nothing. Be sure to tell all your friends to move to California and hang on to your wallet in the meantime, anyway. So then Andy Giuliana will update us in the ocean about the fishing and the bay. Uh, we'll get to rob Reimers on Salmon and the Sacramento River Scott lace. It will join us from a filming shoot down in Southern California. Clyde, The old timer will give us an update on stripers. That's kind of sneaking Lee getting a little better. Uh then we'll get a report from Doug Colovic Marble Mountain Ranch on the Klamath River Been pretty good steelhead and have founder Fisher. Ah been a very good year. Very good year. Um Then we will in the seven o'clock hour. Don pagan jellyfish Berryessa last Sunday. I mean, they caught every kind of fish you can catch. I think And he sent me pictures and Ijust of people he took had a ball will review that. What's going on with Berryessa, then Chris Lawrence, and, uh, Robbie Dunham is going to calls from command, You know, come out. You made their big plant Thursday of ah £3600 of trout, and that should end and they'll be making regular plants throughout the fall Now, so That's really good news. Ah. Collins Lake continues their plant and.

"We had three fish by the time. We got the end of the houseboats and carrying to the right and went down away, and and went up to that corner up there, and we had eight fish by the then I said, well, I pulled up and go back to the back of the bigger ones. Yeah. We went back there. We caught a few more back there. But they weren't they weren't bigger. The upper end you mean where the river comes in. Right. We went up there and fish. From this one billion in the middle of the river and from there up to the five mile an hour, boo. We also fish along that cross there. Uh-huh. Yeah. We we got fish everywhere. We went, you know, it was great. We we came back in fish along the rock wall. Just before you got back to the houseboat Carla couple in called her day. It was a it was a great day. Sounds like it. I mean, what sides were these fish? Well, most fish were thirteen to fourteen inches. We got a few of them that were fifteen or biggest one today with seventeen. That's pretty good. Yeah. Hi, tech fishing too. Yeah. Lisa Rogers has the the net pen program up there where she raises fair. So you you got a chance to catch them. Good. Good size. Trout up there. Yeah. Greg reminded. He got a nine Pounder up there one. So good night fish up there. Oh, what was that water temperature up where the river was coming into your recall? Oh, boy, it was like forty seven degrees up there, pretty cold. How about how about the main by the leg little warmer? Yeah. There's only about a degree warmer though. It was a forty eight most of the lake though, it was it was pretty cool. What were you using? Well, I started to say it's pretty high tech. We're using a dog during the night cry. Yes. When you said. How do you beat that? It. Sure does catch fish. You know, the first time went up there. We try to couple lured and then a couple of nightcrawlers, and they were just hit a night nightcrawlers. "And then there's the other positions we need to learn more to just like figure out even what to think about it. If you, we'd Republicans on this right now like their view. It's like none of this is on the level. You can see Ericsson saying, this is all really about abortion and every single Republican nominee in the future will face a late breaking sexual assault charge, which is clearly not true, but it does go to the point that like at this point, like the late breaking thing is putatively a debate about this one accusation and is a true, and if it is true, like, how would we know? And if we do no, then his cabinet lying. He know that he's like, you kinda run it out, but there's not even a nobody set up a bar like corker and flake and their views. If it is true than like, nobody knows what happens if they like, even, let's say it's proven. The cabin was at the party that he's apparently told Orrin Hatch, not at then what like nobody's quite explained yet. I think that what you can extrapolate that to is what we've heard from some other conservative intellectuals and pundits, including. Caitlin Flanagan you know, she's she's known for being something of a contrarian on issues of, you know, feminism and gender relations published an essay last night about an encounter that she had had during a similar time period that you know had certain Larry's with what Ford is alleging and said, I believe for the fact that he didn't apologize that he, you know that he is continuing to through life does seem to be a disqualifying matter of character and Caitlin Flanagan is not a conservative legal scholar. She's not like federal Seinfeld or anything, but I've definitely seen some, you know, never Trump conservatives the exact types who will begrudgingly admit that staffing the bench with conservative judges. The best thing that Trump has done and were entirely pro Cavanaugh in every other respect saying, wow, this is this is now bigger than this particular. Nominee. This is something that we actually have to take seriously as a matter of character. And that gets into questions of when you think judges character matters. I think the the thing that we rarely treat as text, although it is text is that the swing senators in this case like Cullens Rakowski inflation corker. You can't predict where they're going to fall as a matter of policy, partly because they're senators and so individual votes matter a lot and partly because they're swing votes and so have gotten used to people kind of coming to them asking for things often, frankly, where they land on stuff as a matter of ego, rightly both Collins lake voted for tax reform because they personally had gotten promises from McConnell. The Mitch McConnell then broke, but that means that they are also more likely to see Brett Kavanagh's a matter of character than as a matter of a slate of jurisprudential opinions. Susan Collins was getting a lot of pressure from progressives because despite her having said she wouldn't vote for a nominee who would overturn Roe v Wade and Cavanaugh..
