"And <Speech_Male> of course, that's again, <Speech_Male> that's preferable to <Speech_Male> watching talent walk away <Speech_Male> and not <Speech_Male> getting anything in <Speech_Male> return. So <Speech_Male> something important <Speech_Male> for the Cavs to note moving <Speech_Male> forward, we'll see what the ultimately <Speech_Male> do contractually <Speech_Male> with Colin <Speech_Male> Sexton, but sounds <Speech_Male> like right now. They're open <Speech_Male> to keeping him <Speech_Male> and keeping that <Speech_Male> trio of <Speech_Male> Darius Garland <Speech_Male> Collin Sexton <SpeakerChange> and <Silence> Keras levert. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> All right. <Speech_Male> Trevor, how awesome <Speech_Male> is it? But yeah, I <Speech_Male> just, <Speech_Male> I think here, it's just, <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> this is just <Speech_Male> like, this is great. <Speech_Male> I love giving <Speech_Male> these little <Speech_Male> little snippets because <Speech_Male> it starts getting your mind <Speech_Male> working and <Speech_Male> at least causes me. <Speech_Male> Let me go look at <Speech_Male> this. And I <SpeakerChange> started looking at <Speech_Male> different stuff and seeing <Speech_Male> how it can work. <Speech_Male> Absolutely. <Speech_Male> Absolutely. "They they've got them under contract for at least the next three seasons, so long. Really no reason for them to move him. He kind of almost has no control. Well what he's doing is, he's putting pressure on them to say, hey better start making this team better, or I'm gonna start really chirping and I've never done that before. So that that kind of, you know, is where that stands. So yeah, I think, you know, in the end that goes so yeah, this makes sense that if they're going to move McCallum, you don't moving them for a bunch of guys who will be ready to walk in three years from now when Lillard absolutely will be saying that one out. I'm done with this. So yeah. So that that one makes you know, full sense to me. So yeah, it's, you know, I think we're probably be in a spot there. But speaking of draft picks, we've got the, the Orlando Magic in Toronto. Raptors to both made offers to the Cleveland Cavaliers for the third pick, or a Thursday, the 4th pick. And then some interesting players, the magic have the 5th and 8th pick and again, some interesting players that they could throw in a trade. So that's kind of kind of something to watch their that song. There's where you gotta pay an exorbitant price cuz you're only moving up a couple spots but that to me says that they have their eyes on, you know, somebody falls out of mobile er Suggs or green off. So they they there's probably somebody specific there. My guess is what we would ultimately see there is that would be a targeted move up. I think most people are expecting Cade Cunningham and Jalen green to go down to and then they're moving up to get their guy, my guess is for the Raptors. It would be Evan Mobley and I think for the magic it would probably it might be Evan Mobley but I think it's probably Jalen Suggs would be my guess is, that's who they'd be moving up for interesting. I mean that would certainly shake up the draft if you had that kind of a move and I wonder if that has any kind of an impact on the edge of the Cavs want to move Collin. Sexton, like, if they slide back in the draft like the thought has been okay, they're going to move. Collin sexton, in order to clear up room for Jalen green for Jalen Suggs. For one of these guys home Come in and we're going to give the ball to you if that's not who they're targeting anymore, if they're willing to now move back. Maybe that changes things. Of course, I think the contract situation of Collin Sexton with them only having a year, left under contract and then he needs to be paid off. That is a factor as well. So I'm not saying this completely eliminates shared a plant or pulls calling section off the block or anything like that. I just wonder if there is any sort of domino effect here in regards to those situations. Yeah, we've talked about it with the Cavs and the past where if they stick, right where they are, it's a little bit messy because does Moberly fit with Jared Allen. Who's there five of the future? They've already said that they're going to do whatever they can to re-sign. Him does does bugs or green. If he falls some. How did they fit with you? Maybe sections out there but Garland and 1/4. Oh wow, yeah, so it gets gets a little weird and so you could move back pick up additional assets, may be kind of retool your roster with a slightly better fit and less duplication and overlap. So yeah, that's that off. One is interesting to me and then I think rounding out the draft pick, news-star draft news. I should say, Sacramento Kings are shopping number nine..

"To find a resolution here. That lane lands me somewhere else that we've, we've covered this too. But let's just in case, this is somebody's first time watching and thank you. Yes, if it is, please subscribe but it is Portland controls this. This is not Anthony Davis where he's got a year left on his contract. He made a very clear, I'm going to the Lakers when I'm a free agent Jake Miller as four years left on his contract. So, you know, you can trade for him and say you're either playing here, you're not playing anywhere if you really wanted to play that kind of hard ball with them. And you know, what before years of his contract, he's going to show up and play, you know, where it's very different where he made it kind of clear. You can give up a whole bunch for me and trade, but I'm not staying, I'm going to the Lakers when I'm a free agent wage. That's where it kind of became for the Lakers. All right, let's get this deal done now because we're we're not necessarily competing with your whole bunch of other teams. It's it's kind of competing with ourselves here and that's that's the difference here. Where you know four years a Damian Lillard dad something every team can talk themselves into fairly easily. So that's why Portland. Even if he does say, I want to trade. There's still got more control over that process. Even if he says, you know, I want to go to Team X, Y or Z, here's my list. I'm sure they'll do what they can because he's, you know, probably the best player in franchise history. You know, he's, he's somebody that I think they respect us but they're not going to feel forced into doing it cuz the suitors aren't going to dry up because of again, the length of his contract. Yeah, exactly. They're going to be around and and Portland's not going to be rushed into a deal or anything like that, you know, Damian Lillard, not the only guard that's on the market maybe though Collin Sexton sounded like you know more and more smoke about the Cavs really looking to trade him could be set up to age. A guard coming up in a few weeks here on draft night and that would cause them to maybe move section on top of the fact that they have to pay him after next season is rookie deals going to be expiring but Jason Lloyd from the job, putting out their their yes, yes, very much available but Lloyd also pauses the perhaps the the Cavs will want to move Kevin Love in the deal with him. He's how much does that detract from the value of Kevin of Collin Sexton, if you have to attach Kevin Love and his over thirty million dollar contract this year has about sixty million own over the next five seasons man. That's, that's a lot of money to take on. Yeah, it's going to be the exact right team that feels like we can afford to bring in Kevin Love and he can help us. And what we're really getting out of this is Collin Sexton, because what happens in that situation is you you're kind of stuck right in New Jersey Starts to become a little messy for you if you're Cleveland because if you're you're the other team rather Because unless you're Oklahoma City who's like we're back, he Kevin long completely just to bring on Sexton and all of it to be them..

"Agree with Trevor thanking everyone so much for tuning in in July, I personally once was working a finance job, and the person said to me, I've never seen someone so excited about the Lakers in July. I'm from Canada originally as well, so really random in that case. So, to be here, talking, with the fans. Talking with you Trevor, really appreciate everyone soon and very much and giving us this opportunity to be excited about the Lakers altogether in July. Absolutely, absolutely. Well said. All right. I've got a few people that have been asking about a trade involving, Kevin Love as sort of the, that negative part of a trade in order to bring back Collin Sexton wage. This is the the trade according to Rahul Singh from YouTube. What if the Lakers take back? Kevin Love. And get Collin, sexton in exchange for kuzma. Casey Petrus and a first acoustic ACP that's twenty six million treze. Again, if he opts into his deal, is he willing to go to the, the haves, if the answer, there is no any Ops out and then this is all a moot point. But but let's just, let's say that for whatever reason he wants to go to Cleveland. Okay. Thirty-five million plus the first go and going out, Kevin loves making Thirty one point, three million, and then Collin Sexton comes in at 6 you're you're close enough there to where you can probably make that work. Math wise Kevin Love Making, Thirty 1 million this season 28.9 million. Next season. Collin Sexton has to get paid off after this season, which is one of the reasons why the cabs are rumored to move him. If they can get one of the ball handlers in the draft and they can get songs or Jalen green or you know somebody like that to follow to them in the draft. Then maybe they make a move with Collin Sexton. You know I don't hate it. I don't like absorbing that kind of long-term seller for Kevin Love but it's only two years and if you're if you're the Lakers and you should take at some point, Collin Sexton is going to be the third guy like he's good enough to be the third guy, alongside LeBron and Anthony Davis and someday be the second star with a d, a home. Brother rides off into the sunset and the price you have to pay is you're paying Kevin Love for two years, more money than he's worth on the floor..

"The dynamic a little bits created a nice balance in that locker room because of who chris. Paul is and who his teammates are. So that's why. I think it's looking a little bit too far ahead but what he does. Contract zodiac forty four million and the player option. Bobby marks who. We both know her friends with a tweet at me said. It's more likely that chris ops in and then takes a two year extension with phoenix on top of that like twenty million dollars per year. That makes a lot of sense to me. But regardless of money staying in phoenix makes all the sense in the world. Chris paul has found a situation that works a situation. That probably is going to be sustainable over the next few years. Where devon booker and yonder aiden. Who is another topic altogether. He has an excellent both. These guys are really looking to chris. Paul for leadership and he's providing no question and just to go back to my last point for a minute there. Obviously he did make one conference finals. I was you know saying you know. Finally make spinal finally make a conference finals worth realistic path to the finals. As opposed to just making one he did make one they were facing the warriors. His injury obviously factored into that his injuries of often factored into his postseason failures. If we want to call them that he's also had his miscues. I can't remember which which series it was with the clippers. The year where all the fourth quarter late minute gaffes turn over the baseline all that stuff like he has contributed to some of his own postseason demise but he you know there was. There were a lot of things. Just didn't go right for those lob city clippers right you know including of course being an and then again with the rockets being an era with a super team at golden state that. That's one that that no matter. How good you were. Maybe you just were just wasn't going to happen and this is this is different. I agree there's no reason you should leave phoenix. But this is where he should retire now. He's got a coach who you know. He's got a bond with going all the way back to their new orleans days when they were still the new orleans hornets. And you know that it goes beyond playing beyond player coach that as as we heard from them last night that is about friendship that is a bond and a reliance on each other that they went through. Obviously when monty williams had great personal tragedy. And chris. Paul was there form through that. And so why would you leave that coach. Why would you leave. You know he's he's got a home. I believe still in. La your your quick from there. Not going back east. You're not going somewhere else and you've got a team. That is showing right now no matter what happens in the conference finals. The phoenix suns being a young team. This is not like the lakers. We're talking about like what changes do they need to make. They changes the sun's arguably. Don't need to do a thing. Chris can always like go. Get another star. Potentially if if there's the opportunity but the sons are young and still evolving deondraye. Aiden has room to just keep getting better. Sodas booker sodas bridges so does cam johnson They they as long as chris pockets. Stay healthy and he is up there in years like this is going to be a big wild card for them overall the next few years as your charting how. How big is this is phoenix window at. The moment should be really long because most of their cast is really young. But there's a really key. Piece chris paul. Who's who's older. So how much longer can he be this version of chris. Paul not the question for today. But it's a question for the sons in the big view..

"No no i mean yeah. I asked him and he took a moment to talk about lola. Bunny chris must again. This happened the night. They were eliminated from the playoffs. This is where the head space was in. That was not like boy. You know. I need like we just lost. I need some time to think about it. It was like i'm spending my summer. Were tasked with tweety bird lola. Bunny i'll see you on jimmy fallon sort of like the. That was sort of the gist of the post game. All right so we'll confirm no olympics the off just just wondering consider making a rich. I don't think about setting up for three more weeks of a bubble by the way on the lakers. I just think that's yeah. That's another part of it too is. I was checking in on the even. Just vegas part of all of the thing not not not going to be the most enjoyable of experience for anyone that winds up going out. There should be good offseason though dan lots to do with the lakers. Thanks thanks taking. Some type of jonas. Thanks for having me. I look forward to talking to you. Guys about the lakers. Offseason between games of art howard. Let's keep it in los angeles with the clippers. We're recording this monday afternoon. So we don't know the outcome yet of game. Four of this series but for the clippers to advance in the playoffs. They're going to have to do what no team has done. In the postseason that is overcome back to back to deficits in the first couple of rounds. The clippers did it against dallas mavericks team. Little bit flawed. Not much more there. Besides luka doncic this jazz team a lot better but this jazz team is banged up. Mike conley has been injured. We saw donovan mitchell. Go out towards the end of game three so handicap for me. The clippers chances of coming back from another. Oh two deficit. i'm not about to predict. Other clipper comeback from two zero down in part. Because i've got too much respect for what the jazz of accomplished but i. It's on the table. Chris like the clippers can do this. So you know any doubts. You have about a team and it's make up its capabilities especially when faced with that kind of adversity overcome and we thought now the mavericks are not the team that the jazz are but coming back from two and then they had to straight elimination games. Right there down in that series three one. They've got two or three to whatever it was. They've got a win to elimination games just to get out of the first round. You can look glass. Half full glass half empty was at an indictment that they were ever down in the first place against a team. That's not as talented as they are. Or is that just a sign of their resiliency. I think it is a sign of the resilience because they did come out of it..

"I still think that this team with minor tweaks and i still think there'll be a team that could lure in one of those ring chasers at some point in the next offseason. I just don't know. There's a reason to to overreact to what happened. In the first round i think there it's disappointing for sure but you know the window as a snapshot on this team chris. It's funny you said so one of the things that i mean we've covered. All three of us have covered teams. That have been eliminated the playoffs and that and look during the stuff over zoom when one of the biggest changes i think and you know all of our jobs is like when you when you add that that buffer between people like it's harder to like get a feel like just like sort of subconscious fielder situation you don't you don't know the teams intimately. Is you do when you're around them physically every day and chatting in such-and-such anyways when teams get eliminated edge usually like a free like sambre. Kind of thing right like it's your season's over it's sort of like it's not like the last day of school. It's all the sad parts of the last day of school right. Like people are going to go. Their separate ways like this team is going to disband in some fashion. And it'll be different. The next time they reconvene. I didn't get that bad from the lakers. So much as i got maybe a little bit of a sense of relief on also like they knew on bass. I anthony davis walking around They knew they knew. Lebron james james's ankle wasn't what it needed to be They knew he could you know he. He obviously could not or did. Not kind of have sort of like deluca dodge. Donovan mitchell damian lillard type alike ability to just go score fifty five and and you know i'm doing it that way That wasn't there. And i i mean and they also knew kind of what they were before. All this stuff. Like this lakers season was so interesting because so much of it happened. Sort of imagination You know like the entire year. We're sort of predicated on the projection of what they could be if when they were healthy and it really only flash for a couple of times but i mean again. "I wrote at the time. They won the trade. They lost negotiation and give so many assets in that deal when they should have had all the levers in the world that they just don't have much left. So if you're rob pelinka and you're trying to get creative and you're trying to find like they're not gonna find a third star. They're not gonna get a bradley beal sweepstakes to be had. I don't think it involves them. I don't know where else they go in terms of more around the edges but is there a plausible path forward if we agree that at a minimum lebron getting another year older. You need a little bit more room for error. You need another shot creator score type when he's on the bench or if he's going to be on time. I mean in house like the best option is sort of betting on the continued development of talent oregon tucker which will be bet that they will make as a restricted agent. So i side. They're gonna yeah. And look and i think Again we mentioned bird rights and all that stuff like he's a player. They have bird right students so they can go over the cap to resign him and because they had virtually no room under the cap like they will they will fight to keep him They have made it clear that they will fight to keep him. He was part of the reason. Why you know. They didn't actually pull the trigger ideal. Toronto to add calorie right was how much they value in. How much. Lebron and anthony davis think of norton who Just totally coincidentally has nothing to do with anything is also represented by such total lean relevant. But so i think but like we saw flashes of it definitely late in the preseason and then kind of throughout the course of this i think when they kind of gave him the keys to a rotation spot It was very inconsistent. And but you do watch him and you saw it in the playoffs. A little bit Aggressively getting downhill aggressively getting into the paint. He's got a really funky game as a get your own basket type of shot creator If you can be a good ball handler For a player his size. He's got really really long arms which make him kind of interesting sort of potential defender. is very green You know he has value around as a trade piece but again like all this stuff howard lake not to get all super like larry koon on everybody like this stuff all like the math like even if you wanted to trade Bradley be like getting the thirty. Some odd million dollars for them is tricky. Like it's it's just not so. It's not an easy thing to do that. Trade starts with casey p. and kyle kuzma twenty six million dollars. That is the foundation of that trick..

"And i understand when rob pelinka and the exit interview day says we have a championship roster and this lebron and anthony davis are healthy. I don't think any of us disagree. But they weren't healthy and the drop off to the next tier of players they have is steep and a lot of the guys that we were all praising them for picking up in the offseason didn't exactly deliver so let's take it from there. Let's assume a full season of health by anthony davis. Lebron are we still sure they have enough to end. And if not where where are the places where you think they are most vulnerable and maybe even maybe even have some regrets about who they swapped out. I mean i would say yes. I mean i. I've been under the belief that like lebron healthy. Anthony davis just good enough for like the last two years to be honest. Like that's been sort of like those players are special enough. I impact on both sides of the ball that of elevates everyone around them right that like if you have competent role players like you'll you'll be okay right now What was super interesting. Our about their off-season was it. Seemed like they tried to hedge against that sort of notion a little bit like you know. Let's take a little bit off their plate. Offensively let's go sign. Dennis schroder who is you know While pesky on defense for sure is like is a guy who could get a bucket. Let's go sign Mantras herro who is not pesky on defense Who a home sort of exists to to play with energy. Get buckets like let's try that stuff and quite frankly in an effort to kind of like if those guys miss some time. Whether it's you know two weeks with. Kobe did or an ankle sprain or just sort of like the the bumps and bruises. Were sure to come with that. You know shortened offseason that they would have guys sort of in the wings ready to take on bigger roles and it just never really materialized That identity never really. It just never really settled That way like there were flashes of it occasionally where you could see sort of what they were trying to do. And i think that team performed admirably enough especially on defense like it was never an issue of a playing hard or anything like that. They always pretty much played. Hard for the most part defensively. But you know. I think the heralds finding was amiss. I don't think there's really any question about that. I'm this is This was sort of their big free agency. "And i'm still not a hundred percent. Sure exactly what it all means. I think You know. Obviously when frank vogel took the job and part of the job was predicated on jason kidd being on that staff. I i mean my first reaction is like the lakers have hired. Not just their current coach. But they've either next coach to right was sort of an and i was not the only person who thought this. This was a pretty pretty widely held assumption But over these two seasons when you talk to people about jason kidd in the role he played been lakers. Not only as somebody you know obviously Who held the respect of lebron. James and anthony davis because of his court play. I mean this was played together Jason in the broad obviously in lympics. But also it's sort of a guy who learned how to be a coach right. We talked to frank vogel a couple times a year after after they lost and and i asked him about jason kidd specifically talked about how like jason kidd was just like i mean in addition to becoming like a close friend of franks and confident but also somebody who like learn how to do the work you know and chris you know frank frank embraces the work right like this is a film guy true and true and and i think hearing him talk about how jason would handle scouts and handle you know the pre-game sort of like walk throughs and stuff like that. It was eye opening And then you hear this thing happened in you start to wonder like well you know. In the last year of his contract We asked about extensions and everybody wants denver. He said the right thing. But it's one thing to say it's another thing to do it Who what what's actually happening. And i think it's a fair question. It also maybe speak to some uncertainties about the stability in portland to it could mean a lot of different things and i think that's kind of wide so interesting and that's why it's more interesting than anything else that's happening in the nba. That's why we're leaving the show. I mean to me though. Let me just like. I felt watching that whole thing. Play out that. This was jason's way of kind of taking the lakers temperature on elevating him to be head coach. Like for all those reasons. You mentioned frank being last year of his contract a disappointing. Finish the season though. No one can blame that on. Frank vogel injuries that derail that team your the end of the season i felt and i don't know if you had any any kind of alluded to a little bit but like i felt that this was jason trying to see if there was a pathway to him. Getting the lakers job. Because you know if the lakers thought there was at least a chance that they could lose him to another team..

"I think we would both agree and I know I don't think you've mocked one single, excuse me, one single point guard to them. Even if the point guard is the best available player. You know, what though? If they took lamelo like it smell balls fall to 5. Yeah for sure and then figure out the other two later. Yeah, but I don't know that I would say like Anthony Edwards for them either really why he's similarly ball-dominant to right Collin Sexton and Darius Garland and I would be worried about you know, and Kevin Porter once the ball in his hands. And you know, my impression is I think that they like having a little bit more than they like Darius after last year. So, yep. like I'd be looking at guys like Danny aldea Isaac okoro Devon for sale. I would first and foremost be looking to trade down if lamelo ball doesn't fall. It's a number 5 but like off there are just they need assets desperately and they need assets who can be not ball-dominant exact in Adam and the ball off lamelo to me is a level of talent ahead of where these guys are. So I would go for it. And then I also think that like you could play lamelo with Collin Sexton or Darius Garland and probably Kevin Porter because of his level of passing and his playmaking ability, but man song is get guys who can move without the ball like that's all I'm asking. Yeah, it's I mean, they need to start. Yeah. They just need to start building a team and I'm with you like always draft the best choice. But Cleveland's put itself in such a hole that like of Anthony Edwards is technically the best player when you're faking it just doesn't make sense. And I don't think his I don't think is his upside like would you deal Darius Garland and or like you just said Kevin Porter if get Anthony Edwards like I don't think you're dead. I don't know. Yeah, exactly. So yeah now we need to start in my eyes just like piecing together a actual basketball team instead of having so much overlap at such key positions. Yeah. No, it's they need to start figuring out this roster in a hurry cuz it's a it's a nightmare sometimes I think that's I don't think I need to talk more about the Cavs because they depress me could be honest and I think that we can we can call it there after birth. Maybe not the sons, but like Pelly Spurs. Kings Blazers and grizzlies are all fighting for one spot, so there's interest there, even though right, so the question is where to the winds come from like is I'm saying. Teams that I'm saying stock down, I would venture that the winds come from like seventy being worse. I mean I don't think the bucks can. Again Yeah Yeah. Betting realistically like Fifty Three Nine on pace for seventy wins as probably. The Raptors to go at a seventy percent clip again next year. Probably not yeah like back. Celtics at nearly a seventy percent clip probably. Not to say may be. On if nothing else, maybe they're even better team. All things considered, but they're just not gonNA. Try Hard. You know all. I would say equal, but yeah I understand what you're saying. Nonetheless, though like like at a certain point, you you you right now, everything seems so open, or at least they came into the season, thinking things were opened in there so much jostling for playoff position that like shit there. There might be some separation. You might get some separation between like the box, the Celtics, and maybe the heat. Maybe the raptors like maybe the sixers one other team in Canada Middle Tier whereas right now. Mill to through sixes is somewhat. There's it's theoretically even raptor. "You basically didn't have to guard guys away from the basket allowed teams to load up, and maybe in that vein we should be even more impressed with what Russ was capable of doing averaging triple double with Oklahoma City that year this year it has. This is the antithesis of that Oklahoma City situation actually is fully optimized to. There is no better possible circumstance for Russell Westbrook then playing Houston Rockets seem right now and Daryl Morey has put him in the absolute perfect situation to succeed, and he is dominating games. When you watch rockets, play it a me. It is his team like I know that in terms of like true shots, so like counting free throw attempts in with. Feel goal tends just because I think it's important to do that with James. Because Of James's usage though. Of course in terms of like when you're. When you're clearly it on INA possession when you're clearly trying to go to the free throw gap, become part of your usage for everybody else. It's just a by product of playing heart for him. It's A. Desired effect it is, but they're rest is just slightly ahead of him. In terms of like true shot attempts per game right now like look. Maybe wrested control of the situation from James, Harden is. Maybe slightly false right like. Maybe maybe it's a slight. Nation but when I look at them what I watched this rockets team and I've watched a lot of them now. Because this is for me, the most fun team to watch in the NBA right now. Isn't that crazy I love it. I mean I was never as out on the rockets as you were. Just I find found their style and federal to entertainment. I highly entertaining. It's the milliner take. Everything about this. Seem I think that they're so so fun? And in part because of that frenetic style that Ross embodies right right right everything about what Russell Westbrook does is just all energy all play hard. All attack oriented all the time. This team is now just incredibly attack oriented, and I think it is true on defense as well and look Russ's been problematic defensively for a couple of years now. Canas playing pretty big role on this team, because a lot of what they're doing is warming teams and out athlete them, and using their length, and using their strength to cause problems, and keep them out of the paint, or when they do get into the paint swarming them so I I love everything about this team. Impressing on defense, it's great is fantastic Tucker and Covington early incredible together. I don't know how they're both. Good solid players, but solid being the operative work but man like it. It shouldn't be this simple to build up defensive chemistry and understanding, but yet they just kind of clicked from day one. It is really a joy to watch those to go to work especially down in the low post where you know two against one I don't care how big and strong until you like. You'RE GONNA, lose and and that that's happening time and time again in there so fast. It's so frenetic as you mentioned that okay. Yeah, you're giving up your leaving one guy open, but they do so well in their defensive rotations. They do so well to just run. They just try hard. That that oftentimes the ball can't move fast enough to find that guy and players. Under pressure aren't able to see that guy that you know. Skip past it across court. Pass so It's really good to watch. Of course then that leads into the question..

"Per One hundred possessions, so sixty seven point, four percent of their of opponent misses their corralling that's lasted in the NBA since they have acquired Robert Covington so defensive rebounding is legitimately a very real concern for them. That's the number one in so in, but it on line just. The glass, so it'll be interesting to see if they. WanNa. Exploited, or not, or if they just want to concede those concert continuously, so yeah, this is absolutely the most fascinating team building, conversation and construction that I can remember for the reason that everything they're doing is on the margins and is trying to. Basically, say hey. The amount that our floor spacing puts you into absolutely disastrous situations. Right defensively and forces you to make absolutely impossible situations defensively. We're GONNA. Get marginally more value out of doing that. Then you are in terms of getting marginal value out of crashing the offensive glass as hard as you can right and if you don't get that rebound on the offensive glass, we're GonNa fuck in hammer you in transition because we still have Russell, Westbrook and Russell Westbrook has been one of the best players in the NBA. Required Robert Covington. Yes, he has what kind of invested control of this team. From James Harden almost which is crazy. Enough I I don't know if I'd go that far. I think they're working in a fair symbiosis. I think that there's there's a an understanding that did not really exist between harden. Chris Paul, because they viewed the game in such different realms both being you'll heavy isolation players that can theoretically. Unlock the same system. I think there's a give and take between the two now. There's unquestionably that rust that Russell. Russell Westbrook is playing better right now than James. Harden but I don't think that that's some sort of mutually exclusive concept to where now it's J-. It's Russell. WESTBROOK's team James Harden's in the back seat. I think that it takes two to tango and and Russ is getting the most out of this new system. They want to see how far. He can take his game because it was. He was really a deep on the struggle bus there for quite a while I think that he needs a good deal of running. If nothing else just feel like he's Russ again, it's it's been like a good two months. Basic Yeah. Is figure this out like the numbers for Russ. Are Not all that different. If you go back like Russ's last twenty games, he's averaging thirty two and a half points per game on fifty three percent from the field, bright over while only taking two point four three points per game over his last ten games thirty two point three points per game, twenty five field goal attempts per game fifty three point for field goal percentage. He's basically playing the same similar style that he was right before the all-star break. As, he is now that they've acquired Covington. I don't think I've ever seen him. Play better. I think he is playing better right now than what he did during his MVP season. It's because teams just have like you think back to those Oklahoma City teams right. They basically sold out to stop Russ because well. They had no floor spacing bright. You'd writing Adams on the floor. Bunch. You'd Andre Roberson on the floor bunch..

"Podcast of your senior presented by media today on the show. Deter Kurtenbach is back this year. We are going to break down the Houston Rockets. It's been a month since they acquired Robert Covington and if totally changed their style of play, I want to kind of dive into what's happening in Houston because they've been one of the best teams in the NBA since acquiring Robert Covington I want to talk a little bit about the Bulls because I wanNA laughable 's. Frank, and then I want to talk about Colin Sexton the cavs, maybe a little bit, but more Colin because I find his little run here pretty fascinating, and maybe maybe even at the end. I'll let me yell about politics because I've got burning agents which is great? Maybe we'll find out. We'll find out what's. WE'RE SPONSORED TWO CORES Life but giddy up course like we love it. We lochore's light here at the light so Houston Rockets. They have played. I believe it is ten games since having acquired, Robert Covington. They have a one fifteen point five offensive rating which is fifth in the NBA. A one Oh nine point seven defensive rating, which is ninth in the NBA and their net rating overall fit in the NBA. Just behind the Bucks Clippers Lakers in the mavericks are really great. Run Right now well. Seven three in those ten games theater. When you look at what the rockets are doing playing so small right now with Robert Covington. I think that what I'm struck by is that they're actually not that small like a gross, the other positions and I think that that's what allows them to make this work in the way that they've made it work so far. Absolutely. Really! Good article from Mike Products Nation regarding sort of the strength that the rockets have on the perimeter and it kind of goes back or maybe it just taps into the the basis of something I've joked about now for a couple of years, which is that PJ Tucker is as wide as he is tall, and he's probably as deep to like volume matters. I suppose that might be the tire rockets, ethos, volume matters, and when you have guys like Tucker Tucker isn't going to go up in radio period the rim. Rim like he's not going to protect their, but he will stop you from getting to the rim, because he so strong in the hips, and in his lower body that if you're trying to penetrate past him, he's not gonNA. Let it happen same with Robert Covington to appoint. People have been saying for years and laughably so does that that James Harden is a good defender because he's pretty solid in the post, which is the only place where he ever plays defense well, that's coming into play now..

"Let's great question i think tennessee tennessee will make it i love the way they play the alabama alabamian amendment haunt here about alabama because i just love when they're on the way they play basketball and and collins sexton i mean we're talking about a guy i mean we everyone makes a big deal about trae young but we're talking about a guy calling sexton who could be the best point guard in in in the turnament we've seen him in recent games as take over with that confidence and he's the kind of guy he of the minds of kemba walker type who of course one of these crazy fun tournament runs in previous years i don't know i don't know bama makes it to the sweet sixteen though we didn't see much of auburn they only hung around saint louis for forty minutes actually twenty minutes they didn't they didn't bother showing up for the second half against alabama bubba what are your thoughts on bruce pearl's team which at times this year was on the one line and and started to slip a little bit and now so is is mired in its worst slump of the year not a good time to be in a slump of course you're absolutely right i think the one big about pearl is he has a fascinating fellow but he has if they if i may the skins on the walls they say he's he's done it before and the term but he's he's won some games i like bruce pearl the coach i don't i don't know about bruce pearl the overall the overall product if you will but i i've i've sense that he's gonna take this town fifteen and turn them into one that can win at least one maybe two games in this tournament in hochman joining us from the saint louis post dispatch ben who's great to be in your town we enjoyed it thank you and we hope to talk to you against him i hope he ate well and saying well it's impossible not too bad thanks i really had a great time there a i've said this a couple of times last week but i grew up spent a lot of time in st louis and it's an extraordinary city it's just the heart of america and we had a wonderful time there during the sec basketball tournament we will take.

"Teams with a by i kind of look at ucla 's resume and honestly it looks maybe not airtight but it doesn't even look like we should be questioning the bruins i can't say that about u s c but they did pick up a win against oregon state they've got oregon up next and the pac 12 tournament right now joe already has the trojans as having one of the last four byes and maybe the most thrilling finish of the day in college basketball yesterday was turned in by alabama with stirring seventy one seventy win over texas anm collins sexton maybe the least heralded really good player in college basketball with the game winning bucket that might have put the crimson tide in the incidentally tournament an underwhelming record it just eighteen in fourteen but jolan already has the crimson tide as one of the last four in and missouri jolan already has them solidly in the incidentally tournament as an eight seed the tigers lost to georgia in the sec tournament by two points but the headliner there is they got freshman michael porter jr back that significant because fina goes to colombia was only going to play for one year and is a turned out in the regular season he played a whopping two minutes and seven seconds he came back yesterday he was okay he showed some rust he didn't show a lot of bounce he didn't start the game he came in about three minutes in he got a really nice ovation and you saw flashes you didn't see a lot he finished with twelve points in just five of seventeen shooting espn college basketball analysts tom cream gave an evaluation of porter jr is performance i could resolve anxiety nervousness excitement for him to to keep a straight face for that crowds tear informed makes you want to cry when you see that kind of response bottom line is he rushed them shots is timing was off he took too many challenge shot since out of the game but the problem is out of the game to jordan bar met makes one shot kassius robertson who has been fantastic did not have a good game at all and i don't think the ball moved nearly as well is.
