'The Coming Christian Persecution' by Thomas D. Williams
"Professor you have a book. I think you just let it out of the bag that you have the manuscript back from the publishers super exciting. The title is the coming christian persecution. I'm not trying to be funny here. What do you mean coming. Isn't it already happening if we look at what happened onto isis. What's happening on the boko haram in africa. What's happening to church. Being closed down by the canadian authorities the police in california. I don't mean to belittle the title talk to us. They'll give us a little bit teaser. Of what the books. Main thesis will be well. A teaser would be this. That i look at the beginning on what we understand by the age of christian persecution as so many people still today thank when they think of persecution anything that the roman empire i the martyrs and the coliseum they think of the lions they think of the witness of those early critics which was spectacular. The witness in blood but what they don't realize is the persecution that is worldwide at this point. How many christians in the world live under active persecution. Both authoritarian states and growing way in formerly democratic principled formerly former christendom the west in other words and i think that what they don't realize is that this is very very bad right now. The worst that it's ever been in history and it's not getting better for two main reasons. The drivers of christian persecution are growing stronger every day whether they'd be radical islam with they these still the atheist communists of of north korea and china whether it's something like the hindu nationalism that we see in india especially under narendra. Modi all these things. They're not growing smaller growing greater. But this is happening simultaneously with a lack of willpower on the part of the west to oppose this. We no longer believe that. This something the last acceptable prejudice is the prejudice against christians. And this is something where people wikipedia actually has an entry for This syndrome of christian persecution in other make fun of it as if this is something that doesn't really exist but some people pretend that it

Oakland City Council Considering A’s “Howard Terminal or Bust” Offer
"Vote whether to approve the A's proposal to build a new baseball stadium at Howard Terminal. They say Their waterfront proposal, which includes housing, a performance space and hotels will revitalize West Oakland, an area of the city that has historically suffered from gentrification and displacement by big infrastructure projects like bark. Freeways in the post office down there. Opponents say it will cost jobs at the port and argued that the stadium should be built to the Coliseum, where ample transportation infrastructure already exists. Ratcheting up the tension as the A's ultimatum that if they can't build on the waterfront, they will move away entirely, leaving Oakland without a major league sports team following the loss of the city's other teams. We'll hear about the plan at what it means for Oakland and Bay Area sports fans. First I want to bring Nina Thorsen, producer at KQED and the California report onto the show to give us a reset. Welcome to the show. Nina Hey, Alexis. Good to talk to you. So first, let's let's talk about the specific area where it is. I want to give listeners like a sort of mental map. Where exactly is Howard Terminal? So if you've ever taken a fairy and gotten off at the open side, it's immediately north of where the ferry terminal is right now and then in between Howard Terminal and, um, the rest of the port of Oakland. That's where Schnitzer Steel the steel factory is. So it's right on the water, and, um, right adjacent to the ferry terminal. And I think that's one of the things that makes this such a complicated location is on the one side. You've got the port and on the other side you've got Jack London is right right in between there. Sure, And I mean, I think this is the challenge inherent to anybody who's going to build. Any kind of new facility in an established city is you want to be close to things that are already there and places where people want to go, But that means you're going to be next to some people, and there's just a lot of complications involved for sure. Give us a quick recap

Why I Love Rome
"Let's start the hour with three guides from rome. Who tell us what they love. Most about their city rome. It's the eternal city to one of the most romantic and popular destinations in the whole world but many visitors met with a harsh reality when they wander rooms. Ancient streets overcrowded sites chaotic. Urban seems unpredictable transit strikes. If you're not prepared. Rome can be a challenge. But many will agree with me that it's all worth it. Bernardo francesca russo and susanna perugini specialize in guiding american tourists around italy and. They've all made rome their home because they love their city. They join us now on travel. With rick steves to share their love of rome and share with us some tips on how we might enjoy it too you know. Francesca susannah bondar. Generate one so rome. I love history. And there's history every where you look. Francesca you're born and raised in rome. What's it like just to go to work. Surrounded by all that history. Sometimes i think about it that i can wait for the bus right by where julius caesar was stabbed to death. So i'm thinking that rome is a place where history goes from printed words on the page of a book to something. That's alive every minute of every day so you can feel it. Something had happened. Two thousand years ago happened right now. And there's layer after layer after layer. I mean there's like an archaeological dig isn't it but it's right before your very eyes. He has over two thousand years of history. Front is every single moment. Wherever you turn all at once pub is living in rome shape your outlook. I would say that most romans take it for granted. I think they gain a sense of how special the city is when they go elsewhere and they always find everything else so new so you become you become aware of how what it means to live with two thousand years of history once you leave it i think if you grow in it and you see coliseum every day when you drive to work in the sense you don't even see it any more than you might make a case that if you live in a land with very little with the shallow history. You don't appreciate history quite as much. i mean. The oldest building in my town is one hundred years old building a new town twenty times that could maybe if you live with things that are two thousand years old and every day i think you forget it and it just becomes something many conversations with my roman friends who say they've never been inside the coliseum where he could for take it for granted. Yeah but once you open their eyes to one thing then they understand and appreciate as well

Colin good morning I thought you were gonna say something else no no that's it morning my there's the chipper column that I know and love good to see Colin and boil tell you this week so we're we know we're talking about whether recently but while stomping grounds I went to Loyola for college and Loyola University in in Rogers park I used to live in Rogers park for for those four years and I enjoyed going to those Rogers park beaches and bought some of those beaches don't exist anymore after this week because the rising levels of the water Lake Michigan and the the storms that have come through and I thought this was interesting since twenty thirteen the lake has risen nearly six feet going from a record low to near record high levels last summer last Saturday waves nearing at twenty feet twenty feet were pummeling the shoreline that's from the Tribune those story that ran this week a three foot waves it says here compact the power of a small car a twenty foot waves maybe a freight train that's what's going on Rogers park and other areas of the shoreline yeah there's there's something going on this is where it you give me the green light to rail on climate change no no Colin I know how you feel make sure we all know early in the morning that's right people now Colin we were very clear and Colin stance on this were very clear so what they're doing is they're replace let me see you the replacing the beaches with rock so these beaches now will be completely covered rock rock city answer rocks the answer always that'll that's all we got right now no I'm just thinking about it like what what happens to all the all the lawns when we no longer have the water to water them we do rock law didn't I say you couldn't rants of just just say okay you're right Colin but rock is the answer apparently so that is happening and that's that is it I feel like it's gotten reported this week yes but I feel like we haven't really let that sink in that the beaches are going away bell should be going off right well what what kind of rocks the using like tiny rocks the probably the big once a bit the big way have you can't step on him with a sample is what you're saying right so if you've been up to those beaches it was they have some rocks already up there and did when I was in college the thing to do is like old school plan out on the rocks and sit that sit and watch the the water it's not like you can just Mosey on out you gotta put some physical effort into these rocks so it's not like you can do a dance and you know dance all over the rocks that's not gonna happen well I know the rock climbing is very popular now we we've featured a rock climbing indoor facility on the show well awhile back maybe water rock climbing will become a thing now in Chicago stranger things have happened one night yeah a little bit I guess a little bit also Rogers park we also feature this on the program the heartland cafe the former Harlan cafe it was it's no longer there they have developed a site and if you don't know what that what the heartland cafe is legendary sort of meet up spot for activists and artists and musicians they are developing the corner of Glenwood and want in Rogers park a seven thousand north when wood was the V. address of the Harlan cafe was demolished in April and now they're gonna put up apartment buildings and retail which maybe I should now get on my ranch because I've always said for many many years that's all we know how to DO architecture wise here's knock something down put up a condo building apartment up an apartment building where rents go for like twenty eight hundred a month retail in the bottom call it a day was it was it not the counting crows pay better than but at the back a laugh never thought we would quote the counting crows I think that's the first in fourteen years of doing the show I don't know if that's their original until they've done I don't know if that's a Whopper that's a cop okay yeah well yeah what are you doing I'm sure they might pick it up we actually have a great show today to have a great show today so excited to be here with you today coming up we will check is with the local journalists who stood in line for a while at the dispensary to sort of get the the feeling about what it was like to experience going to a dispensary for the first time legally here in in Chicago also we'll check in with Tiffany Walden who is the editor in chief of a website called the tribe the tribe dot com talking about this question can mayor lead foot transform Chicago so we will talk to Tiffany about that and our pals Steve Krakow with the secret history of Chicago music profiling a harmonica player George wild child Butler what a great name thanks for joining us today hope "This episode is also being presented to you. By Harry's guys readers have been on a downhill slide. This has been really kind of looking like things Zor just fallen apart for the team. Jon Gruden has said that he wants to shake things up and that's already kind of started with what we've seen with regards to the defense miles. They've waived DJ swear injure right now. They're moving things around with Wurley in the secondary. What can you tell us right now? About the a state of the defense with the raiders. Will Jon Gruden is just not happy with it and I think that was the biggest thing that came out after his Monday. Press conference was just just how unhappy he was with the defense in the way the defense has performed I mean. He said that he was sickened by it. And that they're not gonNA play like that again so I think there's only so much that they can do right at this point in the season there are only three games left but what they can do is replace their safety They had DJ swinger in in there. He played four games for the raiders. He started three. I mean you talk about a guy that had a lot of disadvantages. He came in and he really did not have any any practice time before he had to get on the field and play a significant role and so we have a guy that starts three games. And then you're saying all right. Well now we just want your. It's it's not really your fault but you're kind of the scapegoat. You're getting out of here. And then they're gonNA put in Darryl Worley now at safety and so we will see how all that turns out they also play I think as a Johnson at Corner Opposite Trayvon Mullen. So that's two rookies. Now at corner you've got a corner than going to safety. The back end of the defense has has been influx all year long starting in week one when Jonathan Abram went out with a season ending shoulder injury so we'll see how it all turns out in the last three games but like I said I mean it's is just very difficult to make any kind of big time adjustments when you're already this late in the season. Yeah I mean this. You said it's been patchwork type defense. I feel like a for quite some time. Here with the raiders and it started with losing abram losing vonnas perfect. There's been so many different injuries and things that have happened with this team in regards to the people that they expected to have versus who they do have now. I mean if if you look at it right now miles and start to think ahead to the future. There's a couple of games left here but we still have to think ahead. Where do you think that the raiders need to Start focusing their attention on when they think about a draft pick. Are you looking like maybe. They're looking at a linebacker or maybe they're looking at somebody for the secondary. What do you think that the raiders would start with? Regards to try to rebuild this defense for next year Humana. I mean you could look anywhere on this defense and say all right. That's a position where you need upgrade. I mean whether it's cornerback. I mean listen. I don't know what Isaiah Johnson can necessarily bring to the cornerback position but that would not preclude preclude me from going out and using one of those two first round. Picks at the raiders have on another cornerback. Trayvon's played all right. He's played decently well but again like I said you. You can upgrade anywhere whether it's corner whether it's safety the pair with Jonathan Abram long-term whether it somebody on the defensive line you want to go out and get a fantastic address it appear with Clooney furrow because I think we can say the cleland has been a little bit disappointing when it comes to being an edge rusher that can you know get to the passer with any consistency. Obviously linebackers certainly a position of need especially because even avant burfoot were still playing. He's on the older side side right. I think when he comes back from the suspension he'll be on the other side of thirty. So look you there any position you WANNA talk about. You could probably upgrade with this raiders defense offensive because it just isn't flat out not been very good. Well here's something that has happened. Further waiters defense to hear Whitehead Right. Now is a nominee for the raiders for the Walter Peyton. Nfl Man of the Year award. I feel like that's something that we should celebrate because I mean to hear Whitehead. He's been somebody who's been with the raiders now For a a couple of years he was first with the lions but He's led the talk for tackles right now this season. He's led the raiders in two thousand nineteen. And he's a guy that I I was reading this thing. That the raiders. Pr Set out. Sent out where. He actually stopped for a member of the military on the road. Hell Tim within. The car had a flat tire. After this. This Guy Watch car after car. Just drive by and pass on and here to hear Whitehead stops to help the guy so I mean these are things that they consider when they look at the NFL man of the year. There were the Walter Payton Award so I think this is something that it's a positive I mean it's not exactly something that you're doing on the field but it's something that I think we. You should celebrate with the raiders. I mean what have your interactions been like what to hear Whitehead out there a pretty positive I think what does a guy that has really kept the defense together there to the extent that it's been kept together Because of the way he is the defensive signal caller right now. He is one of these veteran leaders that I think guys looks looks to on the team in. It to Whitehead's credit. He has been pretty accountable after games. He's been one of these guys that you can go up to. And he will still talk and not everybody is like that. In the raiders. Locker Room so I think that that's something that you can say you can point to to your. Why didn't say okay yes? He is definitely only a leader on this team. And you know the Walter. Payton Man of the year is one of these awards that is meant to honor both on the field field work really player and then you pair that with off the field work so I think you know one of the more famous winters the last few years was. Jj Watt when. He raised all of that money after the hurricane hit Houston and there's all that flooding and everything in so he became this really huge disaster relief program. And I think that there's a lot to be said for somebody who excels both on and off the field so yeah I think it's. It's definitely something to you. Acknowledge that to your white has the raiders nominee the one of thirty two nominees from all teams all right. Let's take a minute and flip things over to the offensive side of the ball and this is something. I'm also going as Vinnie about here shortly but miles. I WANNA get your take on it because both of you are out there evaluating things as you see this team. Prepare for the game against Jacksonville. Josh Jacobs Right now is very humbled by injury. I mean this is something the MRI came out. Okay we're okay we're the. MRI is concerned. But when you look at Adam how much do you think that. He's a true game time decision as he was last week. Well I think the good thing is that he's been cleared to practice and so he really wasn't able to do much in practice last week. He missed the walk through on. Wednesday did not practice Thursday and then was only able to do just a little bit on Friday and so when Jon Gruden said that and you heard his tone after the Friday practice it was like oh well maybe this is something. That's going to keep him out this week. ee tone was very different on Wednesday when we heard from Heard from him at his press conference and so. I think that Josh Shakeups may not see the amount of the type of workload that we've sort of come to expect where you know if you're in a game and the thing things are rolling like. He's getting twenty twenty-five carries. I think that might be reduced this week. Maybe a little maybe maybe in that fifteen to eighteen Kerry range. But I still think that if Josh Jacobs is out there you're gonNA WANNA use him because he's GonNa WanNa play. He's the kind of guy that does not want to let his teammates teamates down and so it's something that's resonated in the locker room and have been. He's been asking guys about that as well. So I think from that standpoint. Look Josh Jacobs does out there. He's going to give it his all he's GonNa give as best And it's certainly a positive. Sign as the raiders. Definitely want to win this game offensive rookie of the year that he he takes that award if he plays a lot and he plays well in these next couple of games. Yeah probably but I think but there are still some other decent candidates out there. Kala Murray is the one. Because he's a quarterback I would have to say he might have a leg up And if the raiders were are on the verge of making the playoffs more than I think Josh Jacobs Candidacy would be Maybe a little bit better but that said he is still pretty good candidate. I mean he's rushed for one thousand yards the only rookie in the league to do that this year. It's got seven touchdowns he's been an integral part of this raiders. Offense and he really is. What makes it go so he he definitely has a shop for sure? Alright everybody we're going to hear from Vinnie Bonsignore. Next I raiders beat writer. He's going to bring us up to date on all things happening with running back. Josh Jacobs Ebbs but first let's hear from quarterback Derek Carr and what he had to say about Josh Jacobs as a teammate. This week or last week like we've known for so long we like when it happened. So we all know you know and That's why everything he's done is even more impressive. You know than Than just what it is. You know The way that he's Men He's one of my favorite people. We have great conversations all the time you know off the field on the field The Best My guy we have we have some good a good talks about all that kind of stuff in the process and How people last in this league and all those kinds of things and He's he's the kind of guy he reminds me. It's an incredible feeling to see these fans come out and the kids it's great to see the moms and dads children walking into the Coliseum and you hear him coming out of the tunnels. When you're in the building. It's just very cool. Obviously you were here with Jeff Fisher to buckle year. The first year we Fisher how has it changed in terms of the fan base in a crowd inside the stadium? Believe it or not. I haven't been to one Rams game at all just because we need for my kids. So, but what's what's the feeling like inside the Coliseum? It's pretty neat. And quite frankly, the rabid fans fans who have season ticket holders nosy, Steve Mason, a lot of a lot of the family ESPN. Los Angeles are fans the fan base has been excited and has carried the banner all the way. And really when you get into it when we opened against the. Title that was a win that very first game. And there was a great energy. And our fans have been great in a lot of those games. Even the first season it came down to some of the wires and the fans were up and going, and it was a positive which I was Gon who's the stadium announcer for the Rams at the Coliseum. It Sam you went to the rally as well. We were traveling here to Landau in the rally took place. So a lot of people maybe didn't get to see what was it like because we saw it looked like in New England where they put the Rams got a bunch of people out for their send off as well. Yeah, it's funny. I got some calls from people saying how come you're the Coliseum. How come you're not here? The Coliseum is under construction. Removing the temporary press boxes that we were sitting in. So we couldn't go there. And so to go in front of the new L A stadium entertainment district to be with a ram's houses going to be and to have I don't know. My guess is there were five thousand people outside of the fences looking in. We even got a battle cry Rams house battlecry from the people outside the fences are fans inside I asked them to hold off for the folks inside didn't say anything to the people outside heard go. And there were probably I don't know twelve fourteen thousand people inside it was it was massive. It really was huge. I'll show you. It was pretty incredible. We were giving fake reports. There's a lot of that going around. I've made a promise to the listeners in my colleagues here that win the Rams win the Super Bowl. I'm going to get a tattoo, but I don't wanna get like a straight up Rams liberal tattoo. I wanna be like that do. But I wanna cannot sorta like that new. What would you like it whose house go here with the rest of my sleeve or something like that? Or is there some other sort of symbol of victory from this year that you think will look really cool tattoo. I think Rams house that'll battlecry that you would want because that's where your loyalty is to the Rams so ram's house. How about your picture? Off your shoulders. Make it see. Face whoever the Super Bowl MVP is for the Rams. No, I say Sam, Greg leg. Get the leg. Thank you for the compliment, Danny trio and his one of his tacos would be good. They're they're getting outta Takahira action. So it's pretty cool. So it's got to be incredibly rewarding..

"With a back. Yeah. I know it's like. Yankees have the ultimate right? So they park and all that other stuff now statues, but they have all the plaques and all that other stuff. I think could you imagine. If the Yankees decided to do statues out in front of Yankee Stadium. Holy crap goal the way around. Yeah. It looked like lollapalooza. Like a million people there. Yeah. I know. Well, and it also do you ever see the Mario statue? They have all. Yeah. So it's got it's actually got two islanders because it's at famous play. We broke through the two defencemen. They made statues of two islanders defenceman end. How you do it though. That's the thing, you know, like the islanders could have statues. They could. Nassau coliseum. Belmont thing. Bettman's still pushing that whole thing. What? They play their playoff games anywhere. But the Nassau Coliseum that is that is an absolute mistake. Disgrace describes I'll say mistake. Lost say disgraceful disgraceful travesty. Dammit travesty. Yes. I like travesty not disgrace. But travesty all right. Very good. It's home-ice advantage, man. Yeah. Without a doubt, the old porn if you will NYC live at Nassau Coliseum slap some lipstick on that big. We'll tell you that. It's still a pig. But we like the fact that it's a pick. Now looks like a slinky. Yes. Definitely does by the way, this stadium in person is crazy, man. It looks like it's unbelievable. When you look at it here to see the inside of it. Yeah. I mean, it's got all those panels and the weirdness opens, unfortunately, the the roof is not going to be open for the Super Bowl. So, but which would make it really a cool look to it yet. I think it's probably a good thing. I mean, it's probably gonna be raining there. Same possible rain on Super Bowl Sunday, which means then our show the Super Bowl today. The pre-game show that last for four hours will be in. Inside not outsource you want. The ring you don't want to be outside from four hours. We would be outside for two hours hour and a half or something like that. So you rooting for the rank you want that rain kind of like being outside. You didn't this morning? We were walking over here. Well, that was kind of weird. The hotel is attached to this. Get the shower going. I got the issues this morning, and I got to walk out six to I didn't love the outside work either. I gotta be not that I'm high maintenance, but it wasn't didn't have a jacket on what? Because I didn't think I was going outside. Purple vice you go outside when it's can attach to your hotel. I don't know. That's what we're shawny took us over here. Tony up with you. I had an old maid outside. I was taken. I trust me. I know. But he said that we had to go outside. We were told right? So I said, okay. So tell me that Sean screwed up.

"Okay. What makes them think that? The Coliseum is going to be a out if the chargers face the chiefs or the chiefs in the colts, our regional attractions, the charges of southern California. I mean, people will go up to the to the stadium. But I don't think you're going to sell at the Coliseum. No, I don't think you'll sell out the Coliseum, but I think they should play sell more tickets than what stubhub can pulse. Something so jammed the joint. That's what you do you jammed the joint raise the ticket prices of fifteen hundred bucks a ticket and you come on. Yeah. Come on. I actually the money is the bottom line is. Whatever works out if they think they can get away with selling for fifteen hundred dollars a ticket. Then why not you you've covered a ton of sports events. Right. Over your career. I mean you've. Every ass football. Baseball basketball. Sitting here in two thousand nine hundred pretending were much younger like twenty five twenty seven twenty eight years old. I know we both are. But you know, what I'm saying just a couple of years. Do you think given how awesome technology is today? Do you think it's still worth it to go to live sporting events? I'm not saying the Super Bowl because that's like a unique special thing. But to go to football game could could all things being equal. Would you go and sit at stubhub if say the charges were hosting the patriots. We'd be like I'm going to go make that trip. Factor everything they live sporting event. I would. Yeah. I wouldn't do it every week. He sure. But because there's nothing like a live event. I mean, it's. Maybe once a year just to do the tailgate. Yeah. And go into the game electricity from the game and stuff. I find it to be such a hassle. I mean out of all the live sports in person to go to. I think baseball's the best still, and I put NBA basketball baseball and basketball, depending on where you're sitting right football is there's a lot of hey, it's way down there. And you're looking up at the that's what I'm saying. I do it. Maybe once a year once a season the crochet championship. But I just I just I I look at it. I go I go, how do you? I mean, how do you make it? A more compelling consumer experience without making it like the state fair plus a game going on, you know. I mean like we've seen in you you see over the Diamondbacks. They got the pool at the end of the I mean that's stupid. I mean that's swim or go to a game that right? Make up your mind when the tank like three hundred strangers are drinking beer, I mean, if I want that experience, I just go to Palm Springs and stand on the pool and drink cocktails all day, never leave it. Nobody ever asked that question Vegas casinos. At the resorts. I never everybody standing in those pools. They're drinking cocktails all day, and nobody ever gets out of the pool and you find that a may have an amazing amazing retention abilities. Jeez. Took the fun out of going out to them. At the local casino. What are you doing? You're at the casino. You should be gamble. You. Everybody knows when you go to value gamble sportsbook. Okay. So in Vegas, right? So that's number two. Where the heck is. So I'm ready for sportsbook. Then you feel like it took like a half an hour to get. We'd everywhere like they legalize it. And then everybody was smoking dope. I'm like, where's this? I don't know. I'm with you on that. Unless the Las Vegas has a much heavier clout over here. Thank you know. I just I just know what's happened to that. Because like I like, you know, what I want to get lawyer and blue jeans or Justin on next week because I want to ask him. Sports books legal now impacts. I'm putting this legal air quotes, right states. Why do I feel like if I download an app, and I will. Pretend to lay some bets in Costa Rica pretend I'm gonna run afoul of the law. You know what I'm saying? I do where the federally. The court the court over because remember it was New Jersey suing because they were saying it's not fair that just Vegas gets to do it. So now, it's like, New Jersey and Vasil. Unlike pot were still a federal crime, correct? Sporting sports betting, not why California has jumped on the if I'm Trump, and I'm not joking at all if I'm Trump. I think I'm stepping up. What I'm saying? Okay. I want a two percent tax. I want to percents federal vague on all the action. That's we're gonna we're gonna pay for federal wall off. I mean, I think it's two bucks is two dollars on one hundred dissuade you from lane. You're not gonna dissuade me, no, not the way, I roll. Yeah. Like all the money. I make off I got I got scratch yours. I mean, I'm lucky to get a scratch your ticket. I think we're both lucky sports betting has been to the. See the thing is guys street to your phone and sportsbook say, no, we're not encouraging any of that behavior. But I will say this not that I ever consume any other media, but this here. Radio on satellite. There Brent Musburger has a channel on saddle. Jesse does Vegas. Vegas, sports and information and that thing. I don't mean to digress. But it's just this is like interesting to me that thing is like when you accidentally land on the infomercial channel, and you can't not watch the air fryer commercial. And how tender the chicken is. It's I can't I started listening, and I'm like, this is so compelling. It's like. I might be finally retire. And it's like that's not a retirement plan. It's the quickest way to spend your. Not when you get your credit card. I mean, I got I got burned pretty good playing. I got burned pretty good play preseason fantasy football pre-season playing preseason. I'm breathing. I've give my starts in sits. We gotta get him. At our next poker might start an ice starts and since we're all screwed up. And then I started betting like Wednesday night hockey. Forget it. I'm a mess you ever played season hockey. It's really awesome. Hey, winter league Venezuela baseball baseball than anybody. Good to me. I don't even know man. I don't even know what what am I doing? But you see, you know, what's crazy? So like, we're live ally. Yeah. Pres preseason fantasy football. What could possibly go wrong yet? You got people who sit at their house at night, and they're all like, I'm to buy a South African Krugerrands against the Japanese yen. You know, what's going on with Krugerrands in the yet? You don't have any idea you're chasing. You're better off. I mean, literally just you need to call that one eight hundred number twenty one hundred dummy, but I just I. I'm going to say one last thing about sports notice. I'm not doing any climbers about sports talk anymore. Like, I don't do that anymore. If you wanna make sports good again when you get to the playoffs. You have to blow out the conference's blow out the divisions and just take your top. Gimme your top sixteen in the NBA, regardless of confidence. I just want to see the best teams play. And if that's eleven teams in the west and one team in the east. I don't care. That's what I want to see. And I want like in British soccer. I want the ability to relegate professional sports teams to the miners. Yes, I'm all for that. That would be so great Cleveland, and they they go into the CF L Browns are in the NFL now very year, and they gotta play back in. They got to win to get back to get back in see week you need. I mean there needs to be premium put on amazing performance. Reward. Good performance. I have no problem with that in any sector of life. Jeff Bezos, see what he did. Did you hear what Jeff as you? Do.

"Deep-rooted mutual respect for one another. What we do. And how we do it. And and how we are perceived within our industries, and then how we are perceived in common communities together. So you know music is always just been a huge part of my life listening to it being laying it. You. Being in bands all the way up through high school. And you know, I mean, what kid doesn't want to be a rockstar when you, you know, growing up in high school, and, you know, watching say, I went to many Sammy Hagar concerts, and it's kind of funny. I I pulled out a t shirt from a day on the green in nineteen seventy nine and I was doing a winemaker dinner for three sticks at at Alpe CEO Sammy's restaurant in Chiari where they're at the table with us. And so I was talking to the group about just connections in life, and who would have thought, and I I pulled out this whole desert, and the headliner was Sam Sammy Hagar the red rocker and opening acts were REO speedwagon, and I think blue iced or call. Oh, wow. L E hatchet, and you know, it was it was a day on the green at the Oakland Coliseum. And I said, you know, who would have thought thirty thirty years later or forty years later that I would be sitting here. Enjoying my wines and eating some of his food at his restaurant here in mill valley. And I think it kind of just brought the group together really showed that, you know, we do live kind of in a small world in.

"Coliseum in Uniondale, right outside of worst at Hofstra. Right. And how people were lined up. You know, like it was the first and last concert. They would ever go to in their life. Who is right on New Year's she? Yeah. I mean, that's a huge you make a huge night out of it. And it wasn't cheap either. And as well high atop Madison Square Garden in these great facilities provided to us in order to do this broadcasts to all of you on fifty thousand pound for watching, Sean. Thank you. Nj diet dot com. That's normally a monthly concert. He would have been doing below us on the floor Madison Square Garden for his crooked friend, Jimmy Dolan, the Dullard. But he didn't he did it in national county. Coliseum names. Peeps. I mean, this is Long Island. What's the name of that trunk in sorta truncated version of the old barn in Nassau County Coliseum where they used to have tractor pulls NYC be live. I don't know how they got corralled into sponsoring that that new barn. I will say it's a it's a good place to watch the show. I mean, it's I like the acoustics there. I'm okay with it. But you're aware I knew there's other issues I knew there would be problems there on that night. Because of the heavy rain downstairs, he was fish. And these people had all been smoking, right? They had been smoking fatty sold day bones marijuana, right? And they will wet and he was stink the Pachulia oil. You know is worse. Can I just say one thing? No more petroleum oil perfume stuff. God that is just horrific. It's worse. When water though mixes with the petroleum. It's like it's cold wet old wet lady walking in your house. No, they will no complaints. They loved it. You know, they they love their fish. They travel doesn't matter. It could have been a footage. Snow could have been like it was last year. Remember on the ball and was like forty below zero wouldn't bother the fish fans. But the upscale, you know, Billy Joel fan. So many of them who baby boomers like me. Oh, they protesting with a huffing and puffing. I understand that because I talked to my friend, Christine Christine, and rob the Keti. They went over there. They actually hung out at the Marriott nearby. Probably having a couple of drinks. And they said they went over and got into the line outside of the calcium at eight forty five. Now, remember, it's pouring. She said within five minutes the line finally started moving, but I mean up to that point people were saying, you could not get in when they said doors would open the doors were not open because they didn't have enough people on staff and some of these concert goers were furious. Some couldn't get in because their tickets were, you know, washed out soaked. What you've heard this one before it wasn't that the excuse that the board of elections gave for the scanners not working in the fiber rose the city of New York in the region. You just ask some of the people who went to the Billy Joel concert at the Coliseum. That's very match. His one of the Bill Billy Joel sycophants. Toadies latkes fans, he means he wants the all want rebates. They're getting Bubka sticking belly button. Lint listen to what he attache right there for full hour in pouring rain with thousands of other people soaking wet, you know, one person through the door to time. Well, I see Samantha who tweeted she said she actually tweeted Billy Joel at nine fourteen pm on New Year's Eve saying your fans at gate, fourteen are very unhappy. It's pouring rain, and they aren't letting anyone in and this is nine fourteen. It's pouring rain. So when you go to a concert typically, you go in the doors open at six or seven at the very latest. You get in there. You have your hot dog, your, beer, whatever. You know, you're cocktails you go and get your see Cam scan around how to friends watch the opening act maybe or continue to walk around. And then you're in. You're you're fine. I mean, not my nine o'clock you're seated roller. Senator the excuse of how tick. Tickets were wet tickets were actually sold wet scanner man. Oh, man. Now, remember, this was the same excuse used by the corrupt inept board of elections in the city of New York in the recent gubernatorial election, when HUD midterm elections when people were lined up out the door because they hate Trump. So the Democrats will coming out in force and they had to page bat which you had to fill in and then you had to insert into the scanner. And it wasn't working. And remember, it was a heavy rain day that day and listen to this schmuck. No make that the putts. The head of the board of elections of New York City Ryan from Staten Island. Explain it wasn't their fault. It was your fault. Julieta was everybody else's fault because he came in. And you got water on the ballots would I've just.
