"He's been really good. He's been really good. I will say the beauty of the jazz is they're just like a wave. Yeah. You know? They got like 6 guys who can score. They got marking in. They got Clarkson. They got Malik Beasley. They got Kelly Olynyk. They got Colin Sexton. Weirdly a team, I can't believe he was saying this built to withstand injuries. The Utah Jazz. Built to a stand injuries and also now Sexton hasn't been getting a ton of run. So now maybe you fill in some more minutes with Colin Sexton, who I expect to be more in the mix than he's been. So this might open up an opportunity for him. That has been interesting, huh? I think we all thought, oh, this is gonna be the guy they played 35 minutes a 100%. Put the ball in his hands, try to turn him into something maybe a little bit more kind of by brute force blunt object, no other choice, how usage turn him into something, maybe a little bit more than what he's been in his career. And interesting enough, he's just been part of the ensemble. Just part of the ensemble, but we'll see how it shakes out with Mike Conley. We mentioned the grizzlies earlier in the program, John morant. I hate this. I hate it because I love to watch week to week with an ankle injury. Triple J didn't play the other day. They already lost Desmond bane for an extended period of time. They were at the top of the west as we record this. They've fallen back just slightly their game and a half off the pace or ten and 7. They were one of the great surprises last season. They're young and up and coming when they're healthy. They're one of the best teams in the conference.

"That's no guarantee either and still you do not want to eliminate yourself from the possibility of a generational type talent like Victor wembanyama and there's no guarantee you get them with a 14% chance with a top three bottom three record blah blah blah. I get all that. You have to put yourself in the running when you're in this position. I mostly agree with that. Look, I don't think that the front office's position on trading its vets have changed. I think Mike Connolly is still very much available. I think Jordan Clarkson, who has been fantastic, is very much available. Lowry marketing, I don't know. I mean, you're right. His value probably has never been higher, but he is 25 years old and at some point you're going to want guys to play around Victor Webb, but Yama, if you do get him, or scoot Henderson or whatever. So I'm not sure Lowry marketing that they'd be so quick to trade him at the moment. But I think all the guys that you thought were available before the season are still currently available. I just want to just dive into for a minute why the jazz are playing so well. You mentioned marketing. He's been absolutely outstanding. Averaging 22 points per game on just about 16 shots per game he's shooting 51% from the floor. That includes 7 of his attempts coming from three where he still isn't very good. He's creating mismatches offensively. He's been a solid rim protector, defensively. And he can get even better. I mentioned three point shooting. He's shooting below 30% from three, which is well below. Which is wild. Yeah, which is wild. Because he's a good three. He's a good three point shooter. Exactly. Last two seat and think he was 35% last year, 36%, 40% the year before when that number goes up, Lowry market is going to be even better score for this team. I mentioned the depth. One of the benefits of not having a star heavy roster is that there's not a lot of drop off when you go to the bench. They have, they have 6 guys right now averaging a double figures. Jared Vanderbilt is about a point away from double figures. You go from Jordan Clarkson and Mike Conley to Colin Sexton and Taylor Horton Tucker and there really isn't a massive drop off.

"And if they can get a full season ish of Karis levert, who, you know, cares the first kind of a Jack of all trades Master of None, but he can run an offense a little bit off the bench or run a second unit. These two guys Garland and Mitchell will probably actually alternate quite a bit. I would think they're going to start together finish together. And I think you probably try to find spots in the game to alternate them because you're going to need you're going to need to placate a little bit, right? Darius Garland just had his breakthrough season. He went from high pick with some promise and an awkward pairing with Colin Sexton to now being paired with Donovan Mitchell, who's a much, much, much, much, much, much better version of Colin Sexton, but still the bottom line is Donovan Mitchell, nearly 33% usage rate last season. That was 6th in the NBA, Garland was lower at nearly about 28% usage that was 22nd in the NBA. But still, Garland has a breakthrough season as a primary ball handler score playmaker runner of all things offense in as a guy who's much more established as that. So they're going to have to figure that out. I'm not casting doubt on it, but it's a thing. This is how it goes in the NBA. You get two ball dominant guys together. They got to figure out the best way to balance it. But if they do, you now have two guys who can really put points on the board who can initiate and create a lot for themselves and for their teammates. You've got Jared Allen, one of the better lob threats in the NBA. You've got Evan mobley still developing as an offensive player, but already showed some promise with the ball in his hands as a rookie depth could be a little bit of a concern, but now we're nitpicking. Crashing the party, so I think you and I probably agree. Celtics at full strength bucks at full strength, one, two, two, one, whatever they are in some order. Miami's always hard to kind of figure out best record in the east last year, but Miami kind of lacking that one super dynamic offensive player. Still don't have him and they lost PJ Tucker, so they lost some toughness, lost some three point shooting at the power forward spot. I don't know how to assess Miami, but they're the heat, they're stubborn as hell, they'll be around. Sixers, full season of hardening embiid, added some pieces, should be great. But, you know, James Harden never know how to predict where he might be. And then there's of course the nets. Then there's the nets. I didn't even know what to talk about. How did that assess the nets? But all that talent on paper, we'll see. I'm just saying it's very crowded at the top potentially. And I do think the Cavs have to get catch some breaks to crash that party. But again, I don't care if they can or not this season. They're young and this was not a move made just for this season, but for the next two to three years, minimum, windows are very short in today's NBA. But they've bought themselves a window where. Injuries and age start catching up to the heat. If injuries nature are catching up to, by the way, the bucks, Giannis aside, like you got drew holiday, Chris Middleton, Brooke Lopez, guys who have a lot of miles on them in an injury histories, they're putting themselves in position where some of these teams falter a bit.

"A game. I think to calves are legit, good team. Like I don't think that I don't think they're record last season was a fluke. I don't think it puts, I don't think it's a case of they're going to fall back in that record as their ceiling to Caesar. That could very well be there were 44 and 38. It wasn't like they lit the world on fire. They were 30 and 19 before some injuries, which we'll talk about struck. But I look at that team, that depth, he's an important depth piece for them, and that team could be a frisky team again, I think. I think you bring up the complication when it comes to Colin Sexton. And so many things with Colin are complicated. And you touched on a lot of them. It's not that the Cavs don't like him, don't want him back. It's just, what is the right price? What's the right salary for somebody who we like who helps us who we need, but also is flawed. And who isn't as important to our future as some of the other guys that we've already locked up or are going to have to lock up in the future. So put it like this. Colin wanted something north of 20 million annually coming into this off season. I was told that he wanted an annual contract that started with a two, not a one. And he sees himself as a starting two guard in the NBA. Well, the Cavs last off season if you remember Zach, early on, right as free agency started, they got a deal done with Jared Allen. And they gave him 20 million annually. Well, the view of Colin Sexton and his importance for this organization is not the same as the view of Jared Allen. So they weren't going to give Colin a Jared Allen kind of contract. That just wasn't going to happen. So it's just like finding what is the right value for that kind of player that you're talking about because they saw at the end of last season end of the regular season and in the play in tournament. They saw where Colin was missing. They saw where Colin could help. They needed somebody to take pressure off of Darius Garland. I mean, Atlanta was throwing two guys at Darius. In the play in tournament game. So they just needed somebody to go out and get them buckets on pretty good efficiency. And they didn't have that at the end of the season. So they need somebody like that. But the question is, how much money do you give to somebody like that? And I also think they were right and saw it early that this was going to be Darius Garland's team. Yes. And so Colin Sexton as two guard would really be a proper two guard. He'd be an off ball player next to a traditional number one ball handler. And that would make for a small roster construction, which of course everyone was storing the blazers comparisons at them right when they drafted Darius Garland on the heels of drafting Colin Sexton. And I think the idea of turning Sexton into a really good 6th man and starting levert, which I think right now on paper and look it's July. This could all change people get hurt. Comment section could come in and just rampage through training camp. I think and you tell me if I'm right or wrong, that the plan right now is to start Garland levert and then the triple big lineup that works so well for them last year. Is that right? That is right. And that's a lineup, Zach, that they were waiting months to see. After acquiring Keras levert, they had to wait until the play and tournament game against Atlanta. The last game of the year to actually see that lineup because first levert got hurt coming off the all star. And then, you know, there were other injuries that they were dealing with within that. And Jared Allen got hurt too. So that 5 man lineup that you mentioned there, I think that's the one that they would go with. I think that's the one that they have penciled in. That played 24 minutes against the Atlanta hawk in one in one game. That's one game. One game, 24 minutes against the hawks, small sample size, obviously one matchup against that particular team. But that shredded Atlanta. That had a net rating in those 24 minutes of 17. So I think it gave the Cavs a window into what they were thinking and what they envisioned after acquiring levert because of all of the complications and the second half of the season. They didn't get to see that. I think they're really interested in seeing what that can look like with a full off season together. More chemistry and just more playing time out there on the port. And JB likes the versatility that Keras brings to the table. His size, his versatility, his length, his athleticism. That makes them feel better about their defensive potential as opposed to a starting backcourt of Garland and Sexton, which is going to have obvious limitations. Well, it's a big year for, obviously, they have not been able to come to terms on an extension with him. I'm not sure really how much talk you would know more than I would. Are they even talking anymore? Is that kind of died out? And not a lot, a lot of it is the Colin Sexton domino has to fall first because if Colin is going to play on the qualifying offer, that is going to push the Cavs and Keras to try and ramp up those talks a little bit more. But if Colin signs a multiyear deal, then it's a little bit different of a situation for Keras, that there isn't as much need to get some kind of extension talk going. And by the way, I mentioned before that I wouldn't, I would be surprised if Sexton took the qualifying offer. I don't see that happening. I think is what I said. And the more I

"Gobert trade done. Now let's let things settle. Let's see where it all goes from here. And then we'll figure all of it out after that. So I think now we're kind of sitting in a spot where, all right, whatever comes next for them, you know, because they're Ross or it makes no sense right now. I mean, they've basically one center. Because you don't have a bookie is hurt. Right now. So it's they're only centers, walker Kessler, the first round pick, they got from the wolves and the Gobert train. They still have bugged donovic. They still have calmly, they now have Clarkson and Malik Beasley. That's weird. That's not really a great thing. You know, Patrick Beverly, does he make sense on? Because he stared to buy him out or trade him, I don't know. Yeah, so it's one of those things where I think there's probably more work to be done. But as to the prior topic, there's just not a lot of urgency right now because who are we competing against? What are we rushing to do? Let's just kind of let things play out a little bit because we're now we're seeing as teams are taking care of the last pieces of business. We saw the Knicks. Finally, complete the trade with the pistons to send berks and Noel, which finally will open up the salary cap space signed Jalen Bronson, but that's what we're starting to see now. And then it's 8 and Colin Sexton still sitting out there without a deal. Another highly regarded restrictive free agent. And then Durant Irving. So it's all just kind of let's wait and see. This is funny that this stuff is getting done because like we've been acting as though this stuff has done or weeks now, right? But technically it had officially gone through at this point, even though even if teams were operating as though it has and we were too. But in any event, we'll see what they ultimately do there. They don't really have a center that was what connected them to Deandre Eaton but doesn't appear that that's in the cards for the Utah. There were some reports from the jazz B riders that that's just not a thing and they're pretty tied in with the Utah group, but it gets changed some as Danny ainge has taken over and I feel like that's relationship has changed a little bit but yeah, I don't think we're necessarily going to see them be a player there.

"On the wing and at the center position. All right, now Ricky Rubio. Again, we've been talking about this for months. Ricky Rubio would probably ultimately wind up back in Cleveland. And here we are. Now I don't recall off top of my head. Is he expected to be ready for the start of the season? No, no, it sounds like probably January, maybe February. Okay. So we're talking mid season ish. He was a good fit there just being kind of that veteran steady ball handle that you can put in there. So maybe if you're a Cleveland, you're looking at him and thinking, all right, we get him fully ramped up and integrated sometime close, maybe a month to go until the playoffs or something. They're feeling pretty good about that. Yeah, absolutely. And related, we'll skip down a couple raul meteor was signed to. And my guess is that's the cover for Rubio missing the first part of the season. They're going to have natto out there basically handling exactly what Rubio would do for them. And then Robin Lopez heads off to the calves because, you know, if there's anything the Cavs needed was more size. So I think Cleveland, what I really think happened here is they do not want to get into a situation like they did last year where they have multiple injuries up front and then they're playing two way guys and guys they signed off the street and those kind of things. So they want to really be well covered in case of injury and now I mean they've these are three very solid veteran death signings. And I'm going to guess Colin Sexton is ends up back in Cleveland because the market is really kind of drying up for sex then to go anywhere else. So yeah, I do think that's where he'll land back. But yeah, I like all three of these moves for the caps, especially consumer minor costs. Somebody asked them to chat towards ACL at one point. Yeah, I mean, Colin Sexton, I suppose, I mean, I guess they're clearing enough cap space. I haven't looked at their cap sheet, but Utah could make a big run at the pacers could. Depending on I just don't think any of them are going to agree. That's the thing. There's some teams out there that could, but I don't think they will. Then you would also need to get to a really big number for the Cavs, not to match. And then I think you start to now we doing a contract we even regret signing just to get them off to match..

"Said, I was probably gonna miss 15, 20, 25 games a season. He didn't really want to make sure you're covered behind him. If that is the case. Absolutely. Absolutely. All right, let's jump back over into your list. Let me get to that in just a moment here. So as far as the starters go, Martha starters go, I mean, that's pretty much it. If you're looking for and there's not a lot of teams right now that need help out there in terms of the point guard position. But if you're looking for a point guard, there's just not a lot out there on this market in terms of like solid quality starters that are available to sign in free agency. Yeah, absolutely. If you're looking for starting point guard, you're better unless you really feel good. You came up Brunson or Jones. You better start looking at the trademark pretty heavily. Which may not be there's so many teams that are pretty well set at the point guard position that the trade market, it's probably not going to be terrible to go find I think it's certainly going to be easier to go make a trade that lands you a point guard than it would be to make a trade to go get a three and D wing or something like that. Yeah, no, I think that's fair too. And there's a couple of other things too. Like someone may ask, where's calling Sexton? If the player, if you don't see him on the position, you think, I probably have him ranked under another position. I promise you, I didn't forget guys. I'm out of this. I'm really certain I've got everybody accounted for. But Colin Sexton, I've got him under the shooting guards. One of the things that happens in those situations is you want to kind of look at that how I look at it is there, well, where did the guy play and what is his role projected on a dick?.

You can find me on Twitter at Trevor underscore lane on Instagram at Trevor lane NBA. Today, I've got two guests on today's show. I've got Scorpio sky from AEW, TNT champ. And I've got Matt the optimus Peralta, Scorpio, let's start with you. How are you doing? I'm great. I got a great night's sleep last night. I went to bed and my bedtime story was a darvin ham interview because just like the rest of Lakers nation, I have fallen completely in love with him and I can't get enough. So on our last show, which I just listened to part of it and I went back and I listened to re listen to some of our last show and Matt, you mentioned that you listen now and I'm assuming you were joking but you said you listened to darvin ham on your way to the gym at this point as your pre workout and on the way to work is that is that accurate and how is that going for you? Completely accurate on the way to the gym and on the way to shoot hoops. I've been doing really well. So I'm hoping that darvin has motivational speaking, transfers over to the Lakers roster this season. If I can do well, I think they can too. I think that's a great point. If Matt can get pumped up and ready to go do whatever he's gonna do, whether it's work or work out if darvin ham can provide that, then hopefully he can provide the same for this Lakers team. I do have a super chat coming in already, so let's jump into that really quick. Said thoughts on Colin Sexton to the Lakers, I don't, I like Colin Sexton a lot. I probably a bigger Colin Sexton fan than most. I think he's a very talented player. I don't think it's going to happen though. He would have to be assigned and trade and we've talked about all the complications of his lavine deal, but Scorpio, what are your thoughts? I mean, Colin Sexton from the Cavs. Is there a sign and trade deal that you could work out when you say yes, you can do this? Hard cap be damned to get this thing done. I've seen this one pop up a couple of times and I just scroll past it because it's just kind of one of those ones where it feels like they throw the Lakers name in it because it's the Lakers. I have no idea how we would get him. I don't think Cleveland would have any interest in Russell Westbrook..

"The court is obviously out for the year with torn ACL. And then Colin Sexton's out for the year with, I believe torn meniscus. I know it's a knee injury. So they didn't really have that other guy like their second, like they're starting two guard right now is Isaac koro who we both like, but I'm not faking an offensive creator. Right. Exactly. A game to make stops can make an open three here once in a while, but I'm not hitting him on the wing when we're down. One in crunch time, the tariffs avert for the good, the bad, like he's gonna get you some buckets when you need them. Right, totally. And Keras needs to play well with others. Like if you watch the spacers this year, like, when Karis was on the court, it was like the carrots show, and then when someone else was like running the show, like when someone else is on the court, it was like, oh, this is like a functioning offense. This looks nice. This is really like rolling well. Things look good here. But when carris was out there, it was just like all Keras all the time. It was so aggressively levert centric that it was odd to watch for a team that does have some good distributors and unselfish players. So he needs to adjust that mindset just a little bit. But if he does that, it's a really good fit next to dairy Scarlett who can also play off the ball. That's the big thing for me is like Darius Garland. I mean, you watched him in AAU as much as I did. When he was young, he played off the ball..

"Teams play nowadays, Isaac okoro is young, like I said, he's improved, but he's on his own in particular, it's not good enough. And so the team was kind of backward heavy, initially with Garland and Sexton and Rubio before Sexton injury and then very front court heavy with Jared Allen mobly Lowry marketing and his playing small forward. And Kevin Love, who's, you know, had a resurgence season in the 6th man of the year conversation. So they needed a bigger wing, a wing playmaker, and I thought they got the perfect guy. And yeah, the value was right. I mean, look picks in the 20s or early 30s are great, but they've already done the most important thing. They've established a young core in mobile and Garland, and now it's time to surround those guys with pieces that help them win, especially if their players like levert, who are under contract for a number of years and still relatively young with some runway ahead of them. Let me ask you this, Ryan. What would be your position if you were Kobe Altman when it comes to Colin Sexton? A Sexton is done for the year with a knee injury and you know I've been told that there are teens poking around on it, not offering much in exchange for sex and it'll be a restricted free agent after the season. But yeah, like the chance to if you're a team acquiring them, the chance to resign him with his bird rights, that's that's value in that. If you're Cleveland, I mean, I'm reading some of this stuff like the Cavs believe Colin sex can work with that group next year. Under the tax flexibility to sign him, I'm not sure I really buy that. I think they've made their kind of choice with their backcourt here. Garland is the starting point guard. Laverne, I'm not so sure Sexton wants to be kind of the third or fourth option off the bench with that team. So what should the Cavaliers do there? Is there more value in trying to resign Sexton next year than trading him?.

The Crossover NBA Show with Chris Mannix
"colin sexton" Discussed on The Crossover NBA Show with Chris Mannix
"You mentioned Rubio. How many teams in the league would like Ricky Rubio right now? Just an unselfish playmaker will start, come off the bench, whatever you need for him is well liked by his teammates. I mean, there's probably a dozen teams that wish they had the foresight to go out and acquire Ricky Rubio last summer. Kevin Love is giving them something. He's not the Kevin Love of old, but he's giving them a little bit something off the bench. To me, I think this caps team is a playoff team this year. I don't think that's a big leap to take. I'm curious Howard. What do they do with Sexton right now? Because, you know, I Sexton was on this podcast last year and you know he wants to get paid. Like he wants to be paid like an all star caliber player. He just doesn't fit that way in Cleveland. So if I'm the cabs, I sort of take the temperature of the market out there. And see if there's a team that likes Colin Sexton enough, not to get him back this year because that's probably not going to happen, but to have his bird rights for next year to be able to resign him for a big dollar number and have him over the long term. And even if you're going to get like 50 cents on the dollar for it, find pieces that work alongside Garland alongside of kora alongside Evan movile. You've got your core right now. You've got those guys are three first round picks that you've had over the last few years. All the bad basketball that you had to swallow to get those first round picks, you've got players. Now for it, now it's about building around those guys. So I'd like to see, you know, the Cavs, not dump, Colin Sexton, but if they can find shooters or backups at key positions, back up help in the backcourt. I'd be more inclined to do that because I don't see Colin Sexton accepting like a 6th man role with this team next year, which as we look at the way they're playing right now, that's probably optimal for them, backing up Garland, backing up okoro and being kind of that instant offense off the bench. Yeah, and you and I both know young guys with a lot of talents, guys who were lottery picks don't usually warm very quickly to the idea of being 6 men at that early stage of their career. He's going to want to go and be a starter somewhere. And.

NBA Front Office w/ Keith Smith & Trevor Lane

"That's why that is working. So it's kind of become that two guard spot. If anything, they really need offensive creation because it's Darius Garland and Ricky Rubio and nobody else. It's no one else can create anything for themselves or their teammates. And that's what levert can do. Is he a perfect player? No, he's pretty inefficient at times. What do we shoot? He tends to go through these turnover, binges, we're throwing it all over place. But here's the other thing if you're the calves. If you've decided, yeah, we're not going to resign Colin Sexton. Just the money is going to be too much or whatever the reason being. You could put Sexton in a guy like jetty Osmond together with a pick and go get carousel of art. I would imagine. Because if on the pacers, then I'm looking at it as, all right, now we can resign Sexton, probably to a more team friendly deal because he's coming off the injury than what it might have been otherwise. Osman is okay, I guess. And then we get a pick and we start to this rebuild retool reset process, whatever they're going to call it. Yeah, and you know what? Let's say both players were healthy. Who would you rather have Colin Sexton or Keras liver? Colin Sexton agreed. So if you're the pacers, you're selling yourself on that, right? If we're going to start rebuilding, then this season doesn't matter that much choice anyway. So if we lose the production of Karis levert, okay, that's just going to increase our draft pick. This coming off season or increase our lottery odds anyway. And then in the long run, which is what you care about more now if you're in a rebuild, you get arguably the better player. I like that that deal a lot for both sides. I like that for the pacers and I like that too to give a boost to the calves. You know, you look at the cabs, they're 5 and 5 in their last ten. The teams ahead of them, though, the heat and the wizards are both foreign 6. There may be some opportunities for them to move up, but they've also got some good teams behind them the 76ers. The hawks, you have to imagine these teams are going to continue to improve your Celtics are going to get jaylen Brown back when that starts to happen. The cabs have got to make sure that they're keeping up with the Joneses so to speak. So landing a guy like levert, even if it means sacrificing arguably, again, the better player and Colin Sexton might make sense for a Cavs team that could really jump up in terms of the perception of them around the NBA if they solidify themselves as a playoff team. So I like that deal a lot Keith for both sides. Yeah, I just think it's one of those things to you have to factor and it means a lot to Cleveland to be in the postseason. They haven't been in there in a long time. And ideally, you'd want to beat 6 and be in the actual playoffs, but even to get to the play into the play in. I think this is also a deal that it's not bad long-term, because then you have levert next year too, because he is under contract. You could really kind of then what do we look and like? Do we still like the three big grouping? How does this work with levert here? Can we upgrade and maybe move him into like a super 6 man role where daily just can kind of do his thing on second units and cook off the bench for us? What does that look like?.

"A spot where they don't have a ton of depth. So it's just something to keep an eye on here moving forward. It'll shake out probably over the next couple. See how the calves handle it? Of course, hopefully, Colin Sexton does heal up completely and can come back to being his full self even if it's not this season. On the positive side. TJ Warren looks like he's going to be ready to make his debut sometime in January or perhaps even December out of the walk in boot. This guy was incredible back in the bubble and it seems like he's just been hurt since, but would love to see him back out there and the pacers could certainly use him on the wing. Yeah, and he unlocks some small ball lineups when they put on four. I guess they're not even really yeah. They're not even really necessary small ball lineups or more normal lineups nowadays, because they them playing sabonis and Turner together a lot. But yeah, if he can get back in there, that does do things because duarte lavert. That's not really their game. They're damn siding up to the threes as far up as you're going to play them a position. So yeah, so Warren getting back in there that really, really helps. But that pays for Samuel Malcolm Brogdon's back out again. They just incredibly banged up for second year in a row and we don't really have a good read on how good this team is and more importantly for a team that has some contract and roster decisions to make in the next year or so, we don't know how good these guys are together because we never really saw levert play with these guys. Last year, brogden's out, warns out now. Sabonis and Turner. Yeah, that's probably more than being standing wise this year. I mean, that's not that that's not important. But they've got to get some evaluation in on just how these guys fit together long-term. Because realistically, you're talking about potentially decisions that involve tens of millions of dollars, right? You've got to have as much data as you can get. If you're going to make decisions like that. And if these guys simply aren't ever on the floor together, I mean, that gives you data in and of itself. Okay, we've got some injury prone guys. Do we want to really pay? Sure. For that type of situation. But let's say the second half of the season, they're healthy, they get together and suddenly you've got dynamite. Everything's working great. That would be important information to have moving forward that, hey, we know when they're on the floor together and they can click. Or they don't. And you go the other way. So it is important for the pacers that they get out there, even if it doesn't mean a deep playoff run this year, although, I mean, it's still so early..

"Dan. Gilbert is a big colin sexton fan as well so this seems to be to me to be most beneficial to colin sexton. It feels like he may be ready to be done with cleveland especially seeing the writing on the wall. Like you're saying dairy garland is getting the bump up to play with the us national team. Well if you guys are still playing in the nba finals. there's a couple of jalen potentially on the board. Who could do this star. That's there now. You know superseding. Both sexton and garlan. Meanwhile you know sexton is coming off his best season of his career. Twenty four points per game almost forty eight percent from the field. He's probably thinking. I'm going to be due for another paid as soon as my contract. My first rookie deal is up here so let me go. Maximize things playing in a system. That's going to play to my strengths. Instead of having to share the ball with all of these other draft picks who are trying to make their name. sure sure. Yeah what are you add to this or is there something else. That trump said that you wanted to tackle well just quickly tap on like dry sank. Derrick rose was probably the second best player when he came over. And that's just not a good sign for the knicks. They need some more young talent coming through. And i don't think menu quickly ready to be a starting point guard in this league. He's more suited to coming off the bench so they can understand why would want sex than just doesn't sound like it's six enough going back there. Yeah i mean maybe if you hit. Rj barrett somehow into that conversation. Then the cavs no. That's what i'm saying. I mean if the players aren't going to really do it for the cat. I think sex is good. He maybe just is not that well locked in the organization for some reason but started off the season who is averaging twenty seven a game. I mean that's that's all you can get your buckets. I mean he's in christie scoring average every season. he's been the league so offensively. I think he really fits. What the knicks neat guy. Who can actually go out there. And take some of that heat off julius randle but defensively. He has got some work to do there. But i'll just go on the ben simmons stuff there i mean. It seems to me that despite everything we hearing daryl morey remains in a really strong position here because ben simmons is under contract. You know he doesn't have to try him. He's still luckily going to be the best play in whatever trade is made and he can really let this play out as long as once. He knows it's going to be a significant offers from Teams there are going to try to get him. He can just wait until they Prepared to sort of be against each other and putting office that he plays them off against each other and if he still doesn't like any of them he still keeps. Ben simmons so you know he he obviously had a terrible into the season but It's not as though he's you know he ever get anything good out of him anymore. I mean he's only twenty five. And so if you're daryl morey this is a pretty good situation right now because people are trying to buy low and him but he's like i'm just not going to shut tried him for the sake of just donate to do that but it does seem to me more or less inevitable that he will be tried at. Some point can get that package. We're gonna be doing an emergency podcast about benz being treated at some point this summer. I'm one hundred percent convinced that happens but you know the reports are they want. They want an all star back task. That's what they think. They should get ben simmons. I'm sure a lot more. They think it should be an all star caliber player. If eight months ago we were talking about. James harden verse for ben simmons. I mean so things change quickly in this league. How low for sure. But i don't think they're lowering the bar bar to a rotation player. I mean yeah they probably want somebody who's got at least star potential Like you know tomorrow. I mean somebody's got to be really really got. They're trying to win a championship. So i understand deer amaury shopping him. And and the fact that it's snowballed from you were basically traded for james harden. You're we wanted to keep you around. But that was the offer on the table to now what happened in the playoffs. I can understand them wanting to go in a different direction. But he is still extremely talented He's still way before prime and that leads me to my next point. Somebody brought this up a apex fraser. I do believe in the in the chat when we were talking about colin sexting going to the knicks. You mentioned mike. Working off kelsey russo. The athletic saying a couple packages that were out. There would send around kevin. Knox or obi top and apex fraser mentioned here. Ob is older than sex and even though he has drafted last year that led me to obese basketball reference beige as twenty-three sex and it's twenty two and he's got incredible name oba dia richard top junior won a name obie dia. He's from ohio to well. He played dating to a link there. Now we'll see. I think simmons is going to be traded. I don't think he's getting. You're not getting back. James harden type player. That's for sure you're going to get back. Maybe zach levine. Type player would be awesome. I think actually for for the sixers. We talked about that in the past. But i don't even think that's likely i think it's going to be a little level down from even him like maybe their player who russell a low lower level than a first time all star. That's the i think. The sixers should be asking for an all star ben simmons. I'm still a believer right. It's going to be a problem when you get to the playoffs if he's your only ball handler but if you can put him in a scenario where he's not your only ball handler. I think it's fine. Trading a low level all star. I saw greg gray in the stream team suggested. Ben simmons for kemba walker. That does seem to kind of address problems for both teams of course their rivals. That's always the problem with those traits are the sixers really. Don't want to help out the celtics. Are this on the celtics.

I am Jay College takes us to the second half. There's a lot of the covert with a catch and finish on the inbound. They just loved it to him. He caught it. And Kofi gets the last laugh. You know, 54 40, Illinois, You see a man that big and do something is agile. Is that gravity? That's phenomenal. Just Grandison inside, bead covered with catch and the flash on covered, touches it again and hammers it home again on Kofi, with a big big second half. He had 8.5 time. Now he's up to 19 in the Allied leaders 13 58 45. Healthy. Colburn would finish the game with 19 points. Turnover. Illinois gives it back to the Badgers now Carmelo atones for its Holden and slams it. And how do you like that fellow threw a bad pass. That eventually gets the ball back, steals in court and goes in for a slam dunk. Carmelo had 17 1 and seven for Illinois off the bench as they take down Wisconsin 74 to 69. Number three Michigan taking on unranked Indiana. Here's Lear Field. I am Jay College in the second entry pass toward Jackson. Davis intercepted livers up ahead, Wagner, one on €1 Step. Finger roll is good. Oh, that was beautiful from the German Franz Wagner, Michigan by a baker's dozen again. Livers would finish with 16 points. 10 rebounds. Michigan adds Another one in the win column. 73 to 57. Michigan State did not play on Saturday, but Tom Izzo's unranked Michigan State team did take down number four Ohio State on Thursday. The head coach spoke to Marty McGee about what he learned from his team this week. You know, I call this a football team on hardwood, you know, but we did play a lot tougher. These last three games. You know, Indiana on the road and then these two games, and I think Langford has had a lot to do with it there in Henry's playing better and what we've done at center. These were sent it by committee. We got four guys, We gotta be cool guy thing. I'm who's tall and skinny. We get a tough guy and Julius Marvel who's 68. But 40 and toughest nails, and then we got a couple in between. So we do that by committee. You know, it seems like it's 10 minutes at a time, and that's what pretty well for us. Michigan State vs Ohio State wasn't upset Michigan State.
