"Let's see how he did in his team. Tonight. travis kelsey are beg your pardon. Let's go by pacific position by position. Matthew stafford kirk cousins. Sam darnold quarterback running back giovani williams james robinson. Hime hines alexander. Madison darren evans reminder stevenson Receiver deandre hopkins. Justin jefferson cooper. Tyler boyd michael gallup sterling shepherd and band jefferson tried ends travis. Kelsey an earth smith. Feral that this team will live and die by How good those backup running backs Become if Starters go down ahead of them Maybe tailor or cook. Or henry or any low damian harris. I guess to a certain extent if any of those players are to go down for significant amount of the season. This seems loaded for bear. If they don't. I don't know if they was james robinson and are off to get a duck. No and i think that might be a a very failed strategy Alexander madison The boise state running back that i admire greatly Yes we would have to cook injury For madison and madison. His direct handcuff right. He has on this team. So yeah i. I don't know Let's move onto peter oversight. We've talked about his quite a bit tonight. We will talk about it more. Because it was a fun one to talk about trevor lawrence to hunger low at quarterback running backs calvin cook he most or tony pollard. J. p. ryan and xavier jones ex-navy jones. I think xavier jones and the receivers calvin ridley cd. Lamb dj mortiz higgins robbie. Anderson will fuller allies. You're more christian kirk and colin johnson. First time we've seen colin johnson tonight van and coal comment at yes exactly out of texas no fans and Coconut are the Tight end so the receivers are elite farrell. Probably the best in the league Cook in most. Obviously at the top are awesome. Gallard again if if elliott were to go down now. You're looking elite at two different positions. They is going to be fine at quarterback. And i actually like the tight ends as well fancy combat. There are some good conversation they chat room tonight. Talking about overs- that's team at being be very positive feedback on it. I'm gonna second that. I think over is that did a pretty good job tonight. I think he did relegate the running back position. And i also thought the quarterback thirty we'd take the quarterbacks wilson how the new york jets that would have been would have been my seventeenth round pick instead of jones. I don't think jones gonna helping a great deal colin johnson. There's they're sneaky guy. They got thirty points last year. The game oh yeah. I a guy that was again. A lot of people thought first round. Nfl pick he stays another year later and it becomes like a fourth or fifth round pick..

"Let's head to Erik Nelson in Minneapolis, where this one has been a surprise so far. The Jaguars with comfortable Excuse me, comfortable lead over the Vikings and right now looking to add to it, Eric Yeah, rich in Jacksonville on a third down conversion just gets a first down 13 yard hook up from my clinic. Your Tyler Eifert. The young tight end the rookie out of Notre Dame. So the Jaguars have it first and end at the Minnesota 21 leading nine Nothing with 8 14 to go in the second quarter and the total yardage in this game. It's been absolutely lopsided. The Jaguars right now have 221 total yards. Meanwhile, Minnesota just 20. So anybody who thought maybe Jacksonville but the one in 10 record would be mailing this game in would be playing to get in. You know, opposition to trap Justin Fields or Trevor Laurence. Forget about it. The Jaguars look very good so far. They have the nine Nothing lead. Mike Lennon, starting in place of Gardner. Minshew has a touchdown pass. They also have a field goal from Chase McLachlan. The extra point after the touchdown was no good, So that's how we got to nine points. But the defense of the Jags has been outstanding. Dalvin Cook. One of the NFL's top running backs. 14 touchdowns leads the league has only 11 yards on the ground, and he has no catches in the receiving department. So Jacksonville has bottled up. Put And the JAG Woz. Defensively have been very good, but Mike Glennon just turned it over with an interception. And that's a huge play Cameron Dance where the rookie Otto's Mississippi state with the pick, and that will squelch Jacksonville's chances of adding to the lead So rich like we saw last week with Carolina, the inability to take advantage of being in the red Zone it haunted the Panthers. It may haunt the Jaguars today because they should be up by more than nine. Uh, thanks. Minnesota gets all on the turnover. 7 40 to go in the second Jags up nine. Nothing in Minneapolis. You know, Eric, I think that you have to mark down is a potential turning point. It could have been at least 12. Nothing, maybe even 16. Nothing. And then the interception, which was really nice play by dancing with that that could really come back to haunt the Jaguars today. You're exactly right Rich and you look at the explosion plays in this game. Colin Johnson has a 34 yard reception should know has the 28 yard touchdown catch the tight end James O'Shaughnessy has a 24 yard catch to open the game. And Jacksonville only has nine points. Remember they had it first and goal at the Minnesota four and had to settle for a field goal. So they are leaving points on the field. And as we saw a week ago here with Kirk Cousins and Minnesota, they started slow, but they were able to finish fast and pulling out against Carolina. So The Jaguars defense is gonna have to try toe, make it under stop and get the ball back for their offense. But these mistake's tend to come back to haunt you. Absolutely Thank you, Eric in Cleveland, or I should say in Tennessee. Baker Mayfield, his third touchdown pass in the 1st 17 minutes of this game. Donovan People's Jones had ashore one. Before that he dropped this one. He did not. He was wide open for a 75 yard scoring play. 24 7 the Browns in front. The Bangles in front of the Dolphin. Seven. Nothing but the Dolphins with a third and goal at the to the Colts have scored. 19. Heinz gives Indianapolis a 14 10 lead over the Texans. Jets. 13 Raiders seven bears in front of the Lion 16 6, and it's the Saints with a 73 lead over the Falcons..

I think this puts texas firmly in the playoff off conversation the playoff debate and it's a huge conference win. The big twelve doesn't get the credibility that the s._e._c. is going to get but if you can beat eight one of the top four teams in the s._e._c. as conference game it'd be a huge momentum grabbing a huge <hes> feather in the cap for texas and a lot of people have a lot of fund with the comments texas is back or is texas really back if they win this game though it's a serious question. First of all the last year before the oklahoma game i made the comment that i thought texas was back and i didn't mean today national championship contender but i saw an offensive identity i saw i saw a coach that i knew was going to get a lot of their players and i saw an offensive pulse back hit the quarterback spot and a guy that i knew could win big game so i think texas is already back in the national conversation again. "The best internship baking get. Yeah, they don't care about Earl Campbell. They don't care about the glory days. They wanna know am I going to a place where I got a chance to go in the NFL. That's all there is that's the pitch. People wonder why is it Alabama keeps doing it? That's it. Because he calls you up and says, hey, by the way, did you see how many guys were drafted? But as you said before. If you even go to places like Abilene Christian. They're gonna find you find you. Talented guy. There's. Scouting. Now is is so good. And and so precise that. But but for what you don't play gets good competition. The the workout start to matter for some like little Jordan, Humphries workouts, really gonna matter is there one. They just wanna see can you move. Well, the only thing I think this whole Colin Johnson back is gonna wanna know. Yes. Six six many guys who can cover you. But can gets a six three defensive back. Can you get open? Right. I think that was prevalent in the game against Georgia because you right better competition. First half the second half. He was he was nowhere to be found. He's in a witness protection program. But I I really think George Humphry. It's just got better and better and better. And you know, he's even good. I think he's better than people realize after he's got the ball. Again. He reminds me of a lot like Dez Bryant pushes you off physical help. He's little more middle middle spindly stable the Dez Bryant read his poetry. I read sports radio. He obviously is. Yes. Yeah. Begin not publish that KLBJ, but ever maybe other place. Gonna.

"AG. Just pure numbers. We thought that was really short. I was looking at our core numbers this morning. I was talking to a few guys last night and we made the fourteen and a half. It's almost like oddsmakers are factoring in a let down here little bit from Georgia. Tom Herman's success in underdog. This is so tough for me because I think like the idea right in general of a letdown. Here would come from like a senior Laden team like Georgia's sixty three of eighty five scholarship players on the roster all underclassmen, usually we'd view this game as like the stepping stone or the building block for the future right with with basically how young these guys are. I would think also Kirby smart has all these talking in reference points for the specific game. He was on the staff at Alabama when they know showed in the two thousand nine Sugar Bowl against Utah. And then again in two thousand fourteen Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma. You would think those games are being drilled in the players minds. But you know, certainly that does scare me industies really got a pulse on the Texas area. So this could be there SuperBowl. But just from a pure power number standpoint. This number still a little short of Georgia. Georgia's the better football team. I don't think I mean. From all encompassing team balance on offense with their ability to run it. I love their rushing attack. They've got five different players. Lease forty carries averaging six yards of carry swift. And holy fill up been excellent. Jake fromm has been extremely efficient. So I really like what I see from the George offense. And you know, they're defense. Does it completely? Wow. Me, but I really like to secondary. Andre Baker at a fantastic Thorpe award winning season. And I guess if really what to get down to a little bit of matchup. This'll be a crucial match up in this game. The Texas wide receivers against Georgia defensive backs a little Jordan Humphry he six four to twenty five. Great with the football where Lebanon yards receiving nine touchdowns. And then Colin Johnson who absolutely torched Oklahoma. He's every bit as six six to twenty five and he's got almost thousand yards and seven touchdowns in his own. Right. So how does the Andre Baker in that Georgia secondary? It is really good against the pass underneath yards a game. How do they? Matchup because semi one thing about him. You know, he really did a nice job taking care of the football for the most part after that first game. He had a late game. We had a couple of picks any through late interception against so clo- for the most part Sam etlinger became much more efficient on the football. And really did a nice job taking care of the ball. He can locate his two big targets outside and they can win some of those matchups Texas going to have a chance to to keep it inside the number. If not, you know, make it a make it interesting game coming down the stretch boys with those five games, we've broken down. I think we've proved to our listeners while we can't break down every ball game. Because we'd have about one hundred hours worth of college football coverage for them to try and dissect. Well, if you can if you can pay me as much as my radio show Todd, I don't mind doing hours or so a podcasting. I I love talking about the bowls. But the problem is is great as I love this. Unfortunately, at this point, it doesn't quite keep the lights on. So. Well, I mean, hey bet the board is growing. We're not ready to go. Start a patriotic or go fund me or anything along those lines. But you know, we'll have to see I don't want to try and create a divorce in the Oklahoma City area between you, and my dear friend, Mark Rogers, who I know you have to babysit and it's a sensual Monday through Friday to keep him on the rails..

"Tucker and fell France. Let's get into it. Let's start with just some of your quick reactions to last week's games. What did you watch and what stood out here? Yeah. You know, it was kind of build as a boring weak of house football. But you and I both know Ross there's no such thing as a boring weak of college football. So there were a couple of games that I was kinda tuned into you. Gotta love what Washington state and Mike Leach have done this year. In Gardner Minhsiu the quarterback. There has got to be one of the best stories in college football. He set a school record was seven touchdowns on Saturday night. If they went on Friday night against Washington and the apple Cup. We'll move onto the Pac twelve title against Utah. I'm not sure that anybody would have predicted that championship game back in the preseason. You look in the big twelve. Yeah. Texas got a big win against Iowa State twenty four ten I've got questions about Sam etlinger as far as being a pro prospect. I haven't studied him yet. But that's just the sense watching him on TV. But those receivers for the longhorns really appear to be pretty impressive Colin Johnson's a big body kid looks pretty savvy as a rat run or watching on TV and then little Jordan Humphry. You know, he's he brings them some juice as well on the outside. And then, you know, I'm always a big fan of of upsets in college football. I got admit I was kind of pulling for Maryland there in the noon games on Saturday afternoon. I turned that game on in the fourth quarter. And after Ohio State had to fight tooth and nail. So that touchdown to open overtime Maryland comes back like score on the first play. And I got to say, I know it's easy to say this point, you know, to Heinz. Being twenty twenty but I would have kicked their forced Ohio State at try and score. Again. I don't know how you saw about it. But they end up failing on the two point conversion the play call. There was great the receiver was wide open the back of quarterback just missed him and the types fall. But with how easy the turps made. It seem overtime like I almost say like, let's make a high stake. Do it again just kind of up the stress level and there's on there. And but it was a good day college football. Yemen. I had a chance to see Miami play Virginia Tech in person. And that was watching a lot of that Ohio State Maryland game on TV before my game. And first of all it was great to be at lane stadium down in Blacksburg incredible environment when the hokies enter the field, they say, it's even more intense for a night game. But just the whole crowd jumping up and down really really something truly cool and unique, and I can see why people love being a part of it. But during the actual game, man. It was the Miami defense that stole the show..

"It's this kind of play with a chip on their shoulder specially back home. So I'm gonna I'm gonna. Lean towards Texas here because of the timing of this game. And we'll see if West Virginia kin have their first win as you look at the kind of gauntlet that they still have left to play. This would be a huge win for them. If they can find a way to go to Austin and and knock off the horns. But like I said I'm gonna I'm gonna lean towards Texas with the defense kind of playing with a chip on their shoulder and speaking of chip on their shoulder. I think Sam Allen girl also played really well. And and try to get the passing game going with Colin Johnson had a little bit of a down week a week ago. Didn't get those one on one match ups. He typically gets I think he gets those opportunities this week. So I I think Texas at home Vegas got hit last week Herbie with a couple of these wait a minute kind of begging you to take certain teams like Mississippi State. They did get that one. But stanford. Nope, you know, and the other one last week curb I'm having I'm having a bringing far what was the other one. It was one more, Missouri. Kentucky Missouri Kentucky was Stanford in Washington yet Stanford. Missouri. They got burned. Right. They hit Mississippi State. This is one of those games, Texas, minus two I don't see him lose other one. Right. I'm going. Well, I'm with you on when it comes to the Vegas out of that Nebraska at Ohio State, another common theme. Here we ten college football playoff elimination game for the buckeyes, what do you see Herbie? Well, I think the big thing I see is that we've not seen her urban Meyer's team play since they played Purdue seems like it was a while back, but they had a bye week last week think about how bad their defense looked the last time they played can imagine what the practice has been like with Gregg Shana when urban Meyer getting ready to try to get their defense to play better. And then authencity they're trying to become more physical line of scrimmage urban Meyer spending some time with the offensive line trying to get them to get more of a push. So it's not just the Wayne Haskins. And now here comes Nebraska, you can say whatever you want about Nebraska, if you've watched Nebraska play, and you can look. Get the record and say you can kind of. So it look there too and six how good are they you could go look at those six losses and find probably three or four games they had a chance to compete, and if things went right they could have been able to pull out a victory. So in the one thing that's not struggling as Adrian Martinez in that offense throwing it for two fifty the running it for two twenty and Ohio State will have their hands full trying to slow down this offense. And like I said, I think this is more about learning where Ohio State is in their response to produce as they still have some big games remaining not just against the Brassica. But as you look they still have to Lance. They can take on Michigan state. They go to Maryland. And then ended regular season with the game against Michigan. So voyeur is Ohio State how they respond are they better than the way they played against Purdue. And the what quite frankly the way they play defensively in some of the games leading up to that pretty game like Indiana, Minnesota, and then you have this could be a super. Dog herbie? And by the way, the game. I was just trying to remember that was your super dog last week. Yeah. You went against Vegas. Get you. Nice hit well done against Mark stoops as we just talked a little bit ago. Seven fifteen ESPN number four Notre Dame nine and a half point favorite at the fighting fitches and northwestern and one of my favorite players in the country that nobody talks about on a, you know, him well in Patty Fisher, dude is already at linebacker, man. Yeah. Yeah. He's a monster to north western her catching nine and a hook be careful Irish, what do you think?.

"Look into everything the Cowboys you're doing, what we can expect the Cowboys. My name is Michael Sizemore been following and writing about the Cowboys for many years and currently contribute to blogging. Boys may follow me on Twitter atmosphere size, more follow podcast at Bruce in the boys and blogging the boys with me as always, he's the man of the hour. It's a another week, another away game. So we are all sour folks. My colleague at blogging, the boys in the Walter map to my Jack Lemmon Mr. Tom rile. And you can follow him on Twitter at Tom row, BTV Tom, let's start, you know, the Cowboys did lose yesterday twenty two seventeen, but we can't start with the game. I we need to start with the breaking news and that's that. The Cowboys have shipped off the first round pick in twenty nineteen to the Oakland Raiders for wide receiver. Amari Cooper, where do you stand on this trade. Well, I would like to see how he plays, which is going to be the real decision, what's going to really make the decision for us, but. I'm, you know, always a little leery about shipping off a high draft. Pick Dallas has done very well with the first round picks how ever. I have been reading that the Cowboys were beginning to focus in on needing to go for a wide receiver in the first round because the receiver committee thing just wasn't working for them. Yeah, it and it's true. The receiver by committee thing was not working at all you're talking about here is like Alan Hearns not Allah. Hans made a few plays yesterday the week before he was completely silent. He, yeah, five targets didn't even catch one of them. I don't believe you got Colby Isley here doing doing things against the Jacksonville Jaguars taken over. But like you said, last week, Tom and pointed out to that is kind of the microcosm when Zeke and DAT can run wherever they want to. So somebody comes open, their ankle Beasley is your best receiver. He's five foot eight. Michael Gallup had a pretty good game yesterday the best against the Redskins he he's. Rookie receiver and he's had the best. And now his snap count has risen to the top. So wide receiver core. But you're talking about, you know, some people say they questioned whether Amari Cooper can be a wide receiver one. Well, I'll tell you this. He's your wide receiver one. Yeah. And he was first two years in the league. I think he he was probably. At least showing you had the ability to be a wide receiver one. Now you've got your starting wide receivers. Once Cooper gets integrated and assuming that he he gets over the concussion issue. He had over week ago and by the way that trade gives him two consecutive by weeks to get over just helpful self, you're gonna look, I think you're starting lineup in wide receivers is going to be Cooper Gallup and Beasley, which that's a pretty good looking trio to me. Yeah, it's a better looking trio than Dez Gallup and Beasley, I would say yeah. And I think that the big thing look at is that that the Cowboys was they were looking at going for wide receiver one in the twenty nineteen draft to get him in the first round. I've been seeing a lot of people saying there aren't. Any real good for frown wide receivers out there, and the ones that may be kind of down in the last third of the draft are more like Dez was, which is not what the Cowboys are looking for. And Tom, I love. I love Texas is wide receiver, Colin Johnson. I think he's great. I've been, you know, my been Colin Johnson stand on Twitter for months, but he's not a wide receiver. One. Yeah, and that's what this this is looking like..

"All right. I feel got a need to give introduction on this. I just wanna get you a read on it. I'm going to ask the question everybody else as even though I don't like the question, but Texas back. Yes and no, yes. They are a big twelve contender. But no, they're not back. Like come on, like hearing people say that is laughable. I have to say, plays like bags, do it at nine years in a row or at least a couple back is being in the discussion with Alabama back as being in the discussion with Clemson, and literally people will look you in the eye and say, yeah, Texas back say, oh, so you think that they're like Clemson, Alabama. They're like, oh, no, no, no. I'm like, oh, so no, they're not back like, what are we doing? No, they're not. They almost lost the toll saga. I know what we get to Maryland. They almost lost the toll slow. Here's this going back to Oklahoma, Tulsa really shutdown that stupid screen out of trips that Oklahoma, that Texas ran, Oklahoma couldn't get off a block against Texas it with the same screen and just let them walk up and down the field on by the way Sam etlinger QB powers your best play. Yes, it is by the way just so you know, biggest improved because the Ingram kid is starting to show it sure. But, yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I feel bad. For Andrew, because out here is not a bad quarterback, but having a has not really a good quarterback and we keep being forced to have a discussion of whether or not he's good, and that's something you just can't live up to. Right. I thought that he was remarkable on Saturday because the going into the game I thought process was Oklahoma's gonna win because Texas consistently leaves lately points on the field l. your makes overthrows he makes under throws he, those wide receivers get open. Yes. And then he misses them. And if you miss against Oklahoma, you're going to have to pay and he didn't miss. He didn't miss any of these guys and they were just they didn't punt the third quarter. And I was like, oh, this is this is exactly the blueprint. They needed to win football game, and they got it. And it's funny, you mentioned that you know all those things about those wide receivers. They don't just get open there open when they walk off the bus. Oh, let's do it a giant. Oh, they're monsters. And they're, they're all monsters and little individual ways. Colin Johnson is a real deal bully? Yes. Like he, he will. He'll put your head in the toilet like he watching what he did to a couple of those guys for Oklahoma. I feel bad for personnel. Molly because Colin Johnson just like no, listen, you or my son. Let's say, show me, we'll heels. You pay to this. Listen, you hold my hand when we cross the street. They've obey Humphrey who I just need to tell the announces to call him l. j. because I don't need this explained my gosh, like it's. He, he's this tall, dude, but he, he's he, he's kind of like Sammy Watkins. Yes. With how the his running style, the whole deal. He's very Sammy Watkins. E where yes, he can get open down the field. I think he's at his best just like darting through people in the intermediate. And then they have a legit, you know, track fast guy and Devon devante. Yes. I mean, there I liked that group and by the way they've got some other guys in the pipeline waiting in the wings. Oh, and on the other side of the ball, give it up for BJ foster and cadence. Turns stars is a monster, like first of all, Todd Orlando, I didn't know much about that dude when he came in and I am really, typically not here for you. Bring in your your group of five defensive coordinator. Some flooding style, three, three, five defense. Now, men he's got something figured out. Oh, yeah, like Stearns is stir up man..

"Let me just so as long as you're talking Texas, lemme incorporate a question we got from John polls, Bruce, what is your opinion of the talent level athletes, Texas after visiting this past weekend? There have been some reports that very few Texas players could start at TCU after seeing both teams on the field. What are your thoughts on that comment? I'm gonna disagree with very few because I was up close in saw that game. There's a bunch of guys certainly on that Texas defense for as good as TCU as who would be starting. Gary Johnson would would start somewhere VCU. I t shows a lot of speed probably even faster than any other linebackers. I would think Kris Boyd might start anywhere in the country eases talented. A cornerback is I think there is cadence turns an impressive young player. I don't know if he would be pick up Gary Patterson system as fast, but has been the real. Breakout player for Texas so far. I mean, this guy is only true freshman and he's already voting comparisons to Earl Thomas among others, the auto. He's quite the athlete, Earl Thomas's, but he it's early. I mean, his instincts are really good. He's very smart, Todd Orlando this in the column on our site, Todd Orlando kinda goes into detail out one of the other things that make him so so rare as he said, he's still conscientious. It's like it's like he's a junior right now. Diff'rent on defensive line. They have some pretty good players. Chris Nelson, fifth year, senior, Charlie, strong first recruiting class of all things he's playing. Well, I think we've you look on offense of -ly TCU, replace four, four line starters. I think there's a couple of guys on Texas's align. Calvin Anderson's a good, a good laugh. Tackle out. We'll say this. I don't know if you know running backs, allies TCU is better than Texas right now. I think that between Eljay Humphry. Frey and Colin Johnson. Those guys would play for almost anybody. I mean, Colin Johnson's of freaky, six, six, two hundred twenty pound guy who can make a lot of big plays downfield nelga Humphry super smart. He's big is six four to fifteen to twenty. So I disagree. I think there would be more than a handful of Texas players will be starting at TCU. I do think there's good talent. I think where they're not there's not a while factor. I don't like a wildfire actor on the line at this point. I don't think they have that wild factor on the line. But again, they're, they're doing some of this. Now the last couple of weeks Zach shop for their starting center with the leader of that group. He's been how and they slid alive is Rodriguez from right, tackle over. He's very smart and very versatile. He's played really well and Sammy. Cosby is a saw register, freshman offense, lineman. He's played really well. So again, I don't want to say they're back, but I think Texas will be top will be somewhere between ten and twenty. By the end of this year. And those and the in the final rankings will there you go folks. The athletes may not have Texas beat writer yet, but you tell me you didn't just get super-duper defencelessness of the longhorns. Back to the podcast in a moment. Stu, not smart with me, not checking the weather forecast when I go on the road, some of these games and then getting stuck in lightning or rain, or God knows what not smart. You're like the stupidity. Yes, I'll tell you what else is not smart. Taking states finished fourth in the big ten east with Wayne Haskins their quarterback might add, but you know, what is smart? Bruce? Tell us going to ZipRecruiter dot.

"Like they have a defense that should be able to hold most teams to under that. Texas right now, even with that disastrous start beating USC and TCU. They should win eight games Ray Maryland's three and one that's true airline is doing what I love the way that you put that. Hey, listen, no, Texas offense. Yeah, they can score twenty-seven. Sure. I, if that's good enough, then they can win a lot of ball. I'm still not a believer in Texas often. That's fine. And some of that isn't over correction. I took a real bold take coming into the year in esaid. I think Sam etlinger has a chance to be the big twelve offensive player, how? Okay it. I don't think he's not one it yet. I think he's not there, but I don't think we can write them fully off confident. I've, I think that there are a, I think there is a list that might hit a dozen play better chance than him right now. But I, as I get frustrated with some of the Texas play calling the offense. It makes me angry sometimes I'm, I still continue to look at Colin Johnson and we'll Jordan Humphrey and wonder why in the world, this Texas teen doesn't have an incredible passing game. I, you know, I'm I think that that was a great win for Texas. And now I'm starting to look at Tom, Herman, and the the sort of trajectory we talked. We had Stanford Steve on the twenty four, seven sports college football podcast after Texas USC. And he said, you know, after being around the program that week and being around that team for that game, he, he was like, look, this year isn't going to be the year, but there is enough of a good energy that is proliferating through that program that the arrow is pointing in the right direction in. So as I take a step back, and as I realized that there really do need to be steps to be able to have Texas. Get to a point where we are confidently looking at the longhorns as a team that can get back to where Oklahoma's at or challenge to be in that first year snapping a four game losing streak to TCU is absolutely one of those building blocks. It's like the old. Was that lose, big, lose small wins, small win, big. And you know, I don't know where in the process the longhorns are, but beating TCU is a big part of that. Like. I didn't. I don't know where I don't know where I'm at with Tom, Herman. I was a little bit disappointed when he was just, you know, mock Andrew, lock in a bowl game, and we were celebrating. They're six and six season. Yeah, bowl step forward. Yeah. Just, you know, this was this continues to be how about this great opportunity for the longhorns to make strides to where they want to go. And I don't think they're going to reach the this year, but this was a very impressive win for them. Yes, everybody should be scared because Tom, Herman has this reputation as this really great offensive mind because of what he accomplished at Ohio State too often sit Houston weren't great. And Greg ward was basically always on like one and a half limbs. But I think everybody should be scared if Tom, Herman, if in when Tom Herman replaces Tim Beck at offense coordinator and similar to the way like when Gary Patterson hired meecham and cumby where they are a really good, offensive coordinator higher away from ten to eleven and one. Yeah. Absolutely. And I hope that happens for the sake of entertaining college football, I'm not positive. Does Texas has weird Texas eared yeah, I'm not. I'm not ready to. I'm not ready to let like if you had told in avec you in another season, it's like, all right. Just these two weeks, Texas has back to back wins against TCU by framing up a Snickers. Let's go to Red River right now. I write ready to see this and I don't. I'm not feeling that way here on Sunday, September twenty. Third, I still think Oklahoma is seven to ten points better and that's even factoring in rivalry. Right? I think that's fine quickly. Baylor beats, Kansas. So Kansas still to into and has a chance to win four or five. Maybe if everything breaks correctly, but it's not as likely as it looked last week and Baylor look strong with Charlie brewer being extremely efficient..

"It will. It will show gets posted. I promise figured out the store button definitely works. I just clicked it. You have two weeks. We're recording this on Wednesday, September twelfth, two weeks right now we are releasing the icon tea back into the wild as well as our script hat. Absolutely. And there are more shirts on the way. Yes, keep checking bit of a tease coming your way, but out there by the icon. Shirt, and by all means, send us pictures, let us know what it's no, where you're at wearing the icon shoutout shutout Ken grill by the way. Our boy. Yeah. Oh my gosh. All right. More football, more football. So we talked about the volume game. The volume game unanimously here is state against TCU, the neutral cider being played in Arlington, you can definitely make a very good case that as that game is starting up, you move Alabama ole miss. It should be fun for some period of time over onto your secondary display. Maybe put it on mute. Just monitor it in your peripheral vision while you're watching Ohio State TCU. The question then becomes, where do you put USC at Texas because that game also kicks off at eight. It's on FOX. Texas is a three and a half point favorite. Now this isn't nearly as high level a game as the Ohio State TCU game, but it's gonna be fun. I think we know it's gonna be fun. There's history between these two schools not just the national championship that played out in the Rose Bowl couple years back, but also the renewal of the rivalry twenty seven, twenty four that we saw last year where USC won that game out in California. Now this new rivalry comes back to the great state of Texas. Texas is the favourite you would assume that there is some bit of revenge on the mind of Tom, Herman, I think this is a fun game. I'd be more inclined to watch this game than I think alabam. Ole miss because I think this one has a better chance of being closely. You know what I think is on the mind of Tom, Herman, this if I were to do an impression of what is inside the brain of Tom Herman, it would simply be, how do we get. I two. We need more. I, what are we doing. Stop and people. I Dan, I can't think of any game. We have done in the last ten years, a big high level game, national nationally, prominent game. In the last ten years that I've been less confident in. I have no idea which direction this game's going. Also tie. Do you know that it's been twelve years since the Vince young. Woo Hoo. Get later early here. Yeah, getting late early. So I have, oh God. This game is not going to be all that pretty to watch. This game was extraordinarily entertaining last year going to overtime. Colin Johnson ad that huge game Sam darnold made some huge throws this year's ration-. We've got USC coming off of a three point performance at Stanford. Yachting scored forty two against Stanford last season, something like that and Texas coming off of a real threat from Tulsa and a loss against Maryland. So it's not. I understand the vigor at with which you with which you spoke in going into this game. But the sort of like gentlemen, start your engines. Like all right engines engines died because we're, this is three points and Tim back. This is rough. So. You're gonna. Let me you're going to allow me to bet against USC on the road a week after Sanford, depending on how much you believe in the body blow theory, which mathematically has never been proven, never never week after Sanford and improven. JD Daniels has a dinged up hand, but I should play in this game, but they really did struggle going down field consistently are getting any sort of big plays against the Stanford defense. The strength of this Texas team is definitely on defense. It's at Texas. I really don't like taking dogs on their second straight road week unless it's so uneven. And this feels relatively even to teams with talent with early season..

"Okay avenue to knows what that is. Right? You don't really know what it is that you'd think Texas based on the way he played his last year in these guys all coming back. They got the quarterback receiver Collins. I mean, Colin Johnson, they got they got some players, Texas always got something. How much do you think that this game against UNLV US's heavily favored can be a good training ground for JT Daniels. I think it'd be a good training ground. That's what you need it. You need it to be successful, especially with him because then he goes to Sanford. There was not a hostile environment have been. I mean, like recently to Stanford on recently? No, it's been awhile man. So boring? Is it real. Their plans to boring is walking around polite. Exactly walking around like this. Used to see when did that change used to be good are for tailgate. I'm sitting in, I'm looking at. Rich, no stock in apple and thrilled with the prices now working for apple. Saying the tech boom, ruined everything. It's it was crazy out. So I went to the game. Right. So I'll bet the pack to championship game is he Stafford tailgate was people that I know they got they sweaters and the whole thing, cable got the wine and the little glasses. I'm saying, that's what I'm saying. Respectful to just was like the cultural culture, whatever is fine, but it's a different to the game key. We you and I haven't been to a game together in a long time. Oh, SA most of the good games on the road was the tailgating light it for you? Yeah, it's okay. Yeah, I'm better than. Okay. If I go with you. But if you go at key gonna ditch, you talk to rich people. No. Do that. Thinking your tailgates? Yeah. Minnesota. That's what happens. There you go. For your son's games back when he was in high school, you don't do that for the USC stuff goal to somebody's tailgate. Yeah. I wanna go to like I wanna go to what's his name? What's it? What's the comedian will Ferrell let's go to his toga. We'll fair. Yeah, go to one of those type of it's very, our tell you rise is the food is very, very fancy shrimp the size of your face like that white wine, white wine. Today we get the name, you get lots of may. How about listening to ks PM keep this smoking pipe. Caviar caviar. You'll smoke nothing. Negle- fats. Rich fans. No, no, but but USC certainly don't chilly though for some either because it's warm. I know it's just weird like I'm so used to having chillier my you have to go when we have evening games and stuff like that. You're, you're used to the northern weather. Cold. Notre Dame has today SE not being game game once and tell get Notre Dame. The chilly. Chilly. I like, I don't care when you're. Chains, though. All right. So we're talking about JT Daniels quarterback, Jake Stanford. I don't know. Just just just just throw the raiders looks like they finally actually have a backup settled, Derek Carr. Who is EJ manual, oh, big game against Seattle, fifty five yards. Three touchdowns as Raj said, looking like, finally, the number sixteen overall pick and maybe somebody that could be potentially usable. If Derek Carr does get hurt, which we've seen happening pass buffalo cubeys looking better together buffalo something about getting out of there. What he was playing against me stop. No, but I can't put anything into that. She cannot not because half them do that was chasing. They're not gonna be playing on Sunday bills about. All that Starbucks, the more they'll be setting up flights, go workout for teams next week. Then if you can't read into what EJ manual did at all, then how can you have any type of confidence and Sean Manion in terms of what you've seen from him working against twos and threes and struggling because I've seen him play against frontline guys as well look, good. I've never seen EJ Manuel play against anybody in look good this game against Seattle when they're running three scenes, which is three verticals in the dude is bending any inside slot throws a touchdown to in the safety runs all the way to. Due wide open. Avenue you could do that, would you have more confidence in EJ manual or Sean Manion if you had to have one brother, man, you are, you know..

"I don't. I don't who I don't know the next great guy. Isn't there a great wide receiver prospect in college football right now? I think it's, I think it's either Williams Ross and I don't really love Williams. I know, but he's, he's gonna. He looks the part, you know. And so to be the guy that probably in the first round, I mean in all of college, football is there, is there a star level wide receiver prospect? Is there? Is there a Julio Jones? Is there a Calvin Jami? There's very few common Johnson's history of the world, so that's not fair, but Redway looks pretty good. I would say that Calvin ridley's an interesting name to keep in mind. But the freshman in Texas to the Johnson could've. Texas looks like, you know, I run looks like he could be. Colin Johnson could be something like a Calvin Johnson down the road you, but you're right about Ridley Ridley is is richly kinda like Sammy Watkins and that kind of player for you? Amari Cooper. Yeah. I can say I was gonna say Cooper, but again, it's it's easy to make that comparison because they both goes in school. I, I really like his guy. I don't know what it is about him. He's just sort of. Got it. I would say that he's west what is more cooprate and walk ins as far as I mean, the size is pretty similar, but the body type is more like Watkins. I don't know. That's that's a good comparison. I guess we'll see more of them here the next year, and then he's he's eligible next year. Right? Yeah, I believe he's a true, sophomore. I will say that it'll be as I moved away from the NFL draft, say, and the inches talking about all sports covering all the sports. My NFL draft knowledge is falling off a cliff as to what it used to be. Great. I'm I'm with you there unfortunately, but we'll ramp it up here in the next few weeks and months. You know, no question about that. A couple more things before we go. Steph curry had one of those nights last night on you. Oh boy. After after going over ten in a twenty point loss to the Los Angeles Lakers a twenty point loss to the Los Angeles Lakers who are somehow for in three hundred season. Steph curry goes off for thirteen threes, thirteen for seventeen last night against the pelicans. Couple things strike me as aunt here one. That's that's a crazy divergence from one game to another. And she other than the Spurs have the warriors played anyone who's even halfway decent this year. Well, they put the thunder. That's true. That was a big game that was kind of interesting have that was that was a tough one to watch. So I again, I'm sort of objective to the west coast thing. I don't really have a dog in the fight, and I just naturally grown to like those warriors seems like I love. I think Klay Thompson is probably the most underrated all around player in the league. I mean, he's obviously a great shooter ever knows clay, step splash, rose, whatever, but he's such a good defender. And I mean, when you see him matched up on west occasionally, you see that. I think that. They're just there, but watching that game, it was really tough to root for them over the hump, their hard for me to. I mean, you wash these guys and they just keep trotting out. It's like little player after player watching the cubs lineup, honestly, every next add fat. It's another star. Every next shooter. It's an Draymond green complete afterthought on this team complete after thought, people completely forget about Andre Goodall off the bench. I just had, you know, it's long bottling. So I found myself kind of in the back of my mind hoping that Russell Westbrook would put given Duran on poster, do something like that. And I mean at the same time, it's just so interesting and fun to watch soccer in and play. And particularly those especially stuff because of his height, shoot the ball and just completely defy physics and everything that you know about basketball from all the years of playing and watching it. So yeah, it's still boggles my mind team..
