It is 1205, an argument over $20, ends in the death of one man and the attacker now sentenced to decades behind bars. 43 year old Jamie Lee of no fixed address will spend 28 years in prison after he was convicted of stabbing and killing 36 year old Cornelius Lyon in May of 2020. Lee and Lyon were in a Rockville apartment when they argue about $20. Lee then stabbed Lyon in the face, chest, arm and neck. Both took off from the scene. Lyon was found dead a few blocks away. Lee has been sentenced to 40 years, but will only serve 28 of those years. He'll also be on supervised probation for five years after he gets out. Luke Luke or WTOP News 1206. He says before you give away personal information, verify the debt. can You ask them for their email address or their fax number so you can send them a letter which says do not call me again until you can show me in writing that I owe this debt and to whom I owe it. Antico says never respond if a debt collector threatens to arrest you, suspend your driver's license or call your employer. Just hang up and report them to your local state attorney general's office. Traffic and weather on the Yates to Rich Hunter at the Traffic Center. Alright, traveling on the Beltway in Maryland, Atalupas, you head of west the Northwest Branch Bridge, past University Boulevard and Colesville Road to a George Avenue, two lanes. Life gets by the paving project. Keep in mind the ramps from 29 north and south to join the Atalupas are blocked as part of this operation, as is the ramp from the Atalupas to go south on 29 toward downtown Silver Spring. Then, beyond that, the Atalupas looks good as you head toward 270 and around the curves and across the Legion Bridge, headed down toward and beyond nothing else in your way. Interloop at the Beltway in Maryland, between Connecticut Avenue and Colesville Road, two left lanes get you by the work zone, and then between I -95 and the Baltimore -Washington Park, where you're down to a single right lane through milling the and paving, mostly paving now. In addition, there is a flyover from Southbound 95 To join the Interloop at the Beltway is also closed for paving. You're redirected through the park and ride to access the Interloop at the Beltway, so keep that in mind. Beltway and Virginia interloop between Arlington Boulevard and I -66, two right lanes pass the work, then between the Dulles Toll Road and the GW Parkway, left single lane gets you by, and don't forget the interloop express lanes closed between Springfield and 66 for the overnight work, it but wasn't causing any big hassle so far. In the district at last check, a serious crash involving a pedestrian still at H Street and Northeast closed between 14th Street and Maryland Avenue. Right now between colesville road and university boulevard, we're dealing with what's left of the crash with injuries, so the inner loop. You're going to find traffic detouring off onto 29 colesville road headed northbound. The incident, the crash occurred after university boulevard. If you're beyond colesville road and the diversion, you're getting by to the far right side of the roadway. Crews working on the other side of the beltway, they're paving project very slowly. It's going to take a little bit of time to clear. We've got the outer loop between university boulevard and colesville road. The work remaining along the left side of the roadway two to the right should be getting you by. On two 70, your fine south coming out of Frederick toward the lane divide, still looking good between the beltways, 95 and the BW Parkway. Heavier traffic though, on north I 97 as you leave 50, headed potentially up toward an issue near the Hawkins road overpass unclear. We'll keep an eye on it. If you see anything, give us a holler though, you're in good shape as you make the ride south of town on the inner loop, coming in from joint base Andrews down toward the bridge. Quiet start so far in Virginia, both loops of the beltway fine between Alexandria and mcclain, 95 north off to a good start coming out of falmouth. There is a wreck on 95 south. It's just beyond Quantico X one 48, it's along the right side of the roadway. 66 off to a good start so far east Gainesville headed toward roslyn, no early troubles on the George Washington Parkway. Decent trip downtown so far, you're in good shape on the freeway, third street tunnel, New York avenue, D.C. two 95, I two 95. You're looking good. Today, the work is set up in the right lane both ways if you're on the outer loop, you'll hit the brakes after river road. The inner loop delays on your one 23 and coming off of, the dulles toll road, we have some slow spots on the George Washington Parkway, southbound after one 23 northbound passing the scenic overlooks a single lane should be getting by the work in both directions. 95 in Virginia, northbound just some volume passing route three and approaching 17, then you're going to find it heavy passing 6 ten getting in through triangle and from Dale City into woodbridge. Southbound 95, however, that delay is after route three. That's going to take you all the way toward route one and Pennsylvania. This was where we had a broken down truck along the right side. Columbia pike near Braddock road was a report of a wreck. Northbound three 95 near duke street, the work was in the left lane. We also had the delays on the Baltimore Washington Parkway south, bound out of green belt headed inside the beltway. The ramp from the southbound Parkway to the inner loop is closed for a work crew. 95 in Maryland delays are northbound approaching and passing one 98 that's work in the left lane, southbound near route 100. There had also been some work in the left lane. Northbound Baltimore Washington Parkway near one 98 looks like that crash is cleared the delays have definitely eased, you're also going to find a loft borough road is closed between millwood lane and Lowell street in northwest due to a tree down in the roadway. All right, let's take a look at our early morning wreck first thing topside outer loop in Maryland, but it is near colesville road this time we're used to hearing about cars that will spin out right around the temple as you ride between Georgia and Connecticut avenue, but this early morning crash on the outer loop is just right there in coalsville road, except 30. It was in the left side of the roadway. Now everything's sitting over on the far right shoulder. At the end of the ramp, from 29 to get on to the outer loop, you might be squeezed a bit. So just use some caution. Everybody's kind of slowing down with all the flashing lights over on the shoulder. We're still looking good between the beltways, 95 in the bottom of Washington Parkway. No really issues yet out of Frederick, running two 70 south, headed toward the lane divide. We had overnight police activity in the district southeast closures remain 11th street is closed between Pennsylvania avenue and K street. This will affect those on east, bound Pennsylvania avenue or outbound between tenth and 11th streets there. You've got all lanes blocked inbound traveling to Pennsylvania avenue are unaffected. We're quiet across the freeway so far. We'd had early morning activity in northwest in about New York avenue out near the third street tunnel all that activity is gone.
