"As you get from someone who does movies and yo, the framing of it has to be the exact same so we can do like a spice and bubble. Shout out to Paul Heyman for the weasley punches. I thought it was great. And then he has the neck brace on raw. Yeah. He's talking about Cody. Like, hey, and then Rome is a happily married man. The match itself where he really quick go through the aftermath. I toss a few pro russells after the match, right? I'm not going to say their names. And all of them said the same thing. Simple sometimes is better. Because we get so many near falls, flippy shit, tons of finishers, sometimes you need to go back to the basics, ref bump, cheat, shit in, it shit out, talk a few rest holds because you want to work the crowd. Hogan rock at WrestleMania was at 19, was so good because the crowd was into it. And Hogan rock didn't do any flippy shit. They played to the crowd. Roman knew how hot that crowd was going to be, and he was like, let me drag this shit out. It was brilliant storytelling. I thought this match was fantastic. Yeah. Wrestling at his core is storytelling. Yes, you can do that through your moves. You can do that through spots, but you can also do it in other ways. Rank psychology is not dead. It's one of those things where we're watching a story play out. It's just a very physical story. And Romans, again, once you bought into that, the original J feud is aware of really clicked. Because during that J feud, it was so much talking so much, just slow methodical holds, not rest holes, but like submission holds, punishing people, everything and job to majors described his portrayal of king this way. It's like no wasted movements. Every move I make is for a reason. Everything means something. And that's Roman how he wrestles now. Nothing is wasted. No. There's not a clothesline out of place. You're not doing something just to do it. You're not doing like 12 Superman punches as a baby. No, everything is for a reason when he's in the ring. Yeah, and I'm enjoying it. So then we get to the aftermath with the J in everything else and Kevin Owens comes out and allows him to get his kick in and rolls out of the ring. Like, cool. That, again, great storytelling. I've been with Jay took one spears are out. Again, it's where I say, there's two things that you have to suspend your disbelief is, in reality, is one, yeah, that one spear from little assays ain't took J out. Okay, the other thing is, Kevin, why don't you show up earlier? Yeah. But my answer to that is it would have dequeued his friend Sami Zayn. Yeah, but Roman doesn't care about getting d-q'd, hence the million rough bumps and his family coming out because if he gets d-q'd, he maintains the belt and being champion. If Kevin comes out and just Molly watts Roman or save somebody or anything like that, interviews in any way takes the chair, they can dequeue Sammy, causing Sammy the title, which you can do to your friend. Yeah, I'm just all I'm saying is, I think it's a good storytelling. Everything's not going to be, oh, they should have did this. A real person, look, it's not fucking real stuff. So it's like, when I watch fucking marvel movies, like, why is he doing that? And watch a horror movie. Don't go in that door. Yeah, but if you don't go in that door, we don't have a movie. So we gotta do the dumb shit to get to the great shit. Again, thought this was great. I think they've done everything. This is one of the best stories that WWE has ever told. It will see us to this conclusion, and I keep saying it. A lot of y'all was like, we're doing all this, it's a good coach of the title. Who said Cody's gonna win? There is no guarantee Cody rose is gonna win the title. And if don't know how that ends. And I've seen people list all the people that Romans beat and they were like, I'm tired of this. Dude, Hulk Hogan held that title for years. Bob backlund held the title for years. Peter Morales held the title for years. I don't need flipping of the titles back and forth. I enjoy watching Roman Reigns with long-term title rings because whoever beats him is made. And Cody kind of just got here. If he wins, I have no problem with it because I think the story of finish the story is fantastic to end at mania contributes a dusty rose. But if he loses, I'm also okay with that. Keep chasing. Yeah, there's a bigger story there to tell. Because you can go Cody, you can go Sammy. You can go Shay. Right? Or you can give it to somebody else like, going through. There are a bunch of different ways you can go if Roman loses now I'll be very interested in how they tell his story without those titles. He's become synonymous with domination. Does he melt down? "I need them in the women's tag division. Do right by them. And iconic, sir. If there's one thing that hunters completely whiffed on as a women's tag division, it just kind of went up in smoke again. Yeah, anyway, let's keep it moving. Men's Royal Rumble Match. What number does Cody Rhodes come out at? If it's one, I will turn the TV off. If Cody Rhodes is the number one sad distance? Yeah, I don't want that. I feel like it would be the most egotistical, really Cody wrote it into his contract thing. I don't want it. Off the injury. I don't want it. I don't want it, I don't want it. I think there's a delicate balance between fans wanting Cody and then Cody wanting to force his way into this. We all kind of figure that Cody came back to WWE knowing he's getting his hands back on the title. If he goes build a bill at the Royal Rumble, it starts to become narcissistic and egregious. And again, with Sammy not involved in this, the fans are going to revolt. You know this more than anybody kill is not hard to turn on Cody Rhodes. I do it daily. Yeah. He loves Cody rose. But it's like long-standing rivalry between us too. So you gotta be careful with him because even at me as much as people pop for Cody against Seth, like Seth was a heel, a fantastic heel at that. If Cody and Roman work mania and you do this wrong, fans are gonna cheer for Roman and not Cody. Yep. And even me, I wouldn't mind if these two go at it and Roman just beats Cody. I don't mind this. Cody did a good job in AEW on his way out. Like every time he thought Cody was gonna win, he lost. He did a very good job with the money is in the losing. He's the obvious answer to win the Royal Rumble. I just don't want it. Yeah. I'm with you. I wouldn't mind seeing Cody win it, lose to Roman. Chase till SummerSlam. Yeah, or just the money is in the losing. Or do something else. And then get his way back to Rome. Because you gotta build, again, that baby face people behind you, right? It's the entitlement people expect you to win Roman beats you continues to rain, you chase. Bother me at all. And more important, this is the most important aspect of storytelling. If Cody wins now, the story ends. Rather than just begins because it's not like nobody's interested in Cody title defenses. No. But once Cody gets the title, it's like big, great moment, and then you go, well, now what? Yeah. Right? It's almost like Austin turning heel and WrestleMania 17. And everybody was like, that was cool in the moment, but the day after you were like, probably wasn't a good idea. You gotta have your next huge baby face. Ready, or you gotta have your next big bad set up. And they don't. They haven't done anything on that. Seth, people would argue? It's still there, but Seth, a baby face. Right. So he's not set up to run it back with Cody as a first title defense. So, yeah, you're between a rock and a hard place. The money might be in him losing mania if it is a rumble. The rumble be his pop mania should be the loss, SummerSlam. Should be the payoff. And can I be clear, I hate that they pre announced Cody for this? I wish. It was the worst kept secret. I know, but sometimes give me the surprise even though I know it's coming. Unless they have bigger surprises. Well, it's your birthday, and you're like, I know I get a surprise, but if your wife were to tell you, you're getting a surprise party, he's like, fuck you, why would you tell me I'm getting a surprise party? This is one of those situations where it's like, I think he's coming because he was injured in the beginning of the injury. They kind of hypothesized that he wouldn't make it back for the Royal Rumble. If they kind of just kept Cody off the screen, you already sold the tickets for the Royal Rumble. It's on peacocks. Nobody's got to buy it. And Cody shows up, you get a bigger pop like, people knew Triple H was coming back. People didn't know John Cena was coming back. They both got massive pops at the Royal Rumble, but I feel like doing this weekly tease kind of took the air. But there's, again, you're bringing the audience back into it, making them know the journey, the recovery. You could see, but you could Triple H, it works for Triple H. But it works if you have another big return. How big can you get? The edge return is going to be big the only other return I would say to blow Cody and just be like, yo, you know, I blow up the surprise, whatever. We can announce he's coming back. Is there any reason if they say you got Jay white? Any A.J. Styles returns it, right? I'm not saying that this is the case. But I'm just saying how many unannounced returns can you have, right? So it's just like, if you got Jay white, then it's like, well, okay, he's the surprise guy. Edge is a surprise guy. We're going to beat a dead horse. Everybody's a surprise guy. So we let you know Cody is coming back. If you do it without that, it might be a little weird. But if you have another person coming back, that's completely out of left field. It's got to be a big no surprise. Anyway, I still think they're going to stay the course on this and be like, well, Cody's coming back. He's kind of got to win. I just thought it would have been better if we didn't know. The element of surprise would have been a little bit better, but I guess we were just going to go Cody rose. I would like to play devil's advocate. I would love to be like, The Rock does show up. I don't want that though. And we get that. No, I think Cody Rhodes wins it. I love the idea of bell to bell. By coming off the injury and you know what? He's injured. We knew he was coming out. He drew the worst possible spot possible. He was a wrestled in 9 months. My God, there's no way he's going to do it now. Everyone's targeting the shoulder. When the hell out of here. Do you really think if Cody entered at number one, people would be like, is he going to do it? I think all of us would be like, he's going to win. No, it sucks. He's going to win. If you bring him in in 29, he's definitely going to win. That's better. No, because I don't want Cody's ear to rap. But if you bring him in a 20 last, and it's like, you bring him in a one hole came in, I want like two or like fuck, man. No, no, no, no, that was back in the day, right? Nobody went really win bell to Bill, right? Remember, Rey Mysterio had long it was like 58 minutes. But now it's three. Yeah, three deep Sean went bell to bell. Yeah, but now it's expected. If Cody were to come back, it almost takes all the drama out of the Royal Rumble, because it's not really a story of like, Willie, because we know he came back to get this title. Right, we already know he's going to win. Are we already know he's one of two people that could win? The only other way to build drama with it is to go belt. It comes in. We're like, the winners here. Yes, he starts at one. This is it. The winner is here. At least. Why am I watching this? Because at least there's the intrigue of people beating the shit out of him from one through 30. But he ain't feuding with none of them. That's my big, it's a war of attrition. He's shooting with himself. I don't care about a war of attrition. The best part about this Royal Rumble that should happen is the other stories within the royal room. Yes. Obviously, we're probably going to have Brock and Bobby Lashley. Yes, we right? Age is going to come back. He's probably going to deal with Judgment Day at some point. We'll get some surprise returns. We'll get Kofi doing some crazy shit. Now him and ricochet get to flippy dip all around the ring and see what happens. Look, everybody's expecting biggie to come back and threaten me with a good time. No. But we probably will see Gunther in this and it'll be interesting because it's just set up his next few. That's what Royal Rumble should do, but if you put the focus on Cody so early and be like, can he do it? And then it's like, no shit, he's going to do it. He just still hanging around. I don't want him to know. Just turn him heel at that point. Just turn a meal. You're the worst. No, I'm the best.

"It has been reversed somewhat, but the brand is not helped. No. All the people who are cut from down there is one to the main roster. And then the brand, even the carmella is great. Ron breaker has something. You got to figure it out. You got something, there's some grace and Waller, say whatever the hell you want. He's easily hated. That's a great quality and pro wrestling. They got some pieces, it just got their real bad. And they tore it down for a weekly television product. It's shitty. It's a ghost of what it was. And I feel like it's out of spite. And I feel like I don't know. I don't want to grossly assume, but Vince leaving the scandals, all that shit didn't pop up the day before he left. I'm thinking maybe there was some writings on the wall, Vince said, fuck it, I'm tearing this shit down. And when I'm gone, it's going to be how I want it to be because there's no other pieces here to do anything else. We're only going to have NCAA and random ass people talent. We're only going to have my way is going to last forever because all your indie people all the people, they're all gone. Whether I'm here or not. Lo and behold, they opened up the purse strings and signed everybody back. But they would have been in a pickle. So that's my biggest thing. The death of NXT. As we know it, it's my biggest gripe of the year. I already saw two O 5 live died, man. I had to watch NXT now. WWE fucked me up. So that's my gripe. Cole, you go. I think there are a couple directions that we can go with this. And you recapping something actually something else came to mind, but I'll mention that later. I think my main gripe that I think I have from this year. And I don't think it's necessarily anything new, but I think it was extremely prevalent this year, given all of the backstage drama that was occurring in, especially in AEW. But people's really gross reactions and overreactions to it. Where people are constantly searching for the death of AW whenever a pin drops somewhere. And all of a sudden, everyone's up and they're such shit, they're so bad. It's like, guys, wrestling in the 80s and 90s. Like people were probably like stabbing each other back there. Like for the love of God, the things that are happening there were like a dog bit Kenny Omega. Like, it's not gonna hold a candle to shit that was happening in the 80s and 90s. People got over shit. And in fact, people or he or no way. It was a person. And it was because Kenny was saving the dog. Excuse me. You can see how I get that mixed up. Anyways, and also humans, humans biting each other. Fucking still wild. Don't get me wrong. Yeah, but also like, you know, 80s and 90s like people had shit going on backstage that was probably way more hardcore and they figured out how to make money off of it. The real key is drama is such a prevalent part of wrestling. Wrestling at the end of the day is essentially a reality television show. And the key is to take that drama and figure out how you can make money off of it, right? They figured out how to make money off of MJF calling Tony Connor bucking Mark, right? It didn't burn down the company. It didn't, it wasn't the end of days, him getting on a flight wasn't the end of days, right? Just a gross overreaction to all the drama that kind of surrounded that surrounds either AW and WWE too. Now granted, like WWE, there's the stands to have the reverse problem where they'll do the, they'll book something super small, and it's the greatest thing ever since sliced bread, and that's the death of AEW. And like people were defending Vince shit. So like people were going after Sasha Banks when she decided I'm out, and it's like, what do you guys talking about? No, you don't realize that the company is in the wrong here. We can be critical here and it's okay. So I think it's really smart. It's just really just gross overreactions to everything. And also, I will say on top of that, anyone who goes online and says the term ring, psychology, when they don't like a flippity ship match. Bothers the hell out of me because that is a person that has no idea what they're talking about. Taking a shot at cornette. Listen to cornette and don't watch wrestling. Like at the end of the day, you don't know what's going on. Just be entertained by what you're watching. I don't get it. Like people will do something like athletic and they'll botch it and everyone goes oh but you suck all you botched it. But then we get a crazy like flippity dippity segment like part of the match where like 5 different things happen and it's up that didn't do ring psychology for me. Like what do you want? What's gonna entertain you if nothing's gonna entertain you go watch something else like that's like I'm all for storytelling within the ring, do not get me wrong that is not at all what I'm saying. I think storytelling is obviously a very important part, but you can tell a story while doing flippy shit at the same time. They're freak athletes, let them do their thing. And if they can do it well, that's awesome. So you know psychology. I love the flippy shit. It's easy for me. This is like my maga problem with the UFC's tribalism and pro wrestling. That's just it. I watch similar Nicole. Yeah, it's every year. Well, this year showed it more than anything else. I hate Cody rose and AW. Shows the WWE, they fucking love them. What happened? Same fucking guy. The man got a bruised chest and y'all lost your fucking mind. Like, stop. Stop. Sasha Banks, everybody loves Sasha Banks. And now she's not there and people are like, oh, we don't need her. But it's just ridiculous watching the tribalism at work. People will just go out of their way to shit on one company or the other. And not just, look, good wrestling is a good wrestling. Gunther and shame has had a fucking banger this year, incredible. We can't, I've seen AEW fans like, ah, it wasn't that great. What are you talking about? It was great. I've seen the other side of this where they just completely act like FTR didn't exist. You know, like, I don't get why you have to pick a side when neither of these promotions are fucking FTR was the revival, they were the shit and NXT. What are some people love them? It's weird. I mean, we watched it with Adam Cole. And I'm close the same guy. Yeah. He goes from one promotion to the other, and everybody lost the shit. Something really cooled off in AW though. I mean, he got hurt. Yeah, right. Even when he was there, it was kind of like wonky. He was crazy over. It wasn't like he was not over. Nah. He was ridiculous. I guess the theme song. The new theme song just didn't hit as much. I don't think it's that. I just think people looked at him in AEW and was like, oh, he's doing this like dude. He was on NXT on a one hour show on the grind. That shit. People who love, I mean, shit, we had swerve on this show, people love swerving NXT. He shows up to AEW now. He dresses weird. He's ridiculous. I don't like those are.

"If this Gunther momentum continues, do you get to go through enrollment? It could be like more of a SummerSlam thing? Yeah. I feel like you're starting to work that trajectory where it's like, there's one person that could be wrong, because if it's not Cody Rhodes, and Cody's in a weird spot, and I don't know if Gunther and Roman are in trajectory. Like sooner or later, Gunther keeps going the way he's going. We're going to get Gunther versus Lashley. We're going to get Gunther versus Lesnar. Right. As the big match before we get something else. Well, the Cody roasting gets weird because it's like, all right, cool, we can do Cody rose's champion, but what's the question? Then what? Cody fucking robots. But the real question is like, all right, because a million heels. Cody Rhodes. But Cody's tricky, again, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go back to the gorgeous book real quick. The words talks in depth about Goldberg coming back. And them trying to figure out how to work this angle with The Rock. And then gorgeous was like, well, you could do this thing Booker T and Goldberg is like, I'm not Booker T and he was being an asshole. He's like, I can't do that. He's like, well, you know, we did with us, and he was like, I'm not so cool, Steve Austin. I'm Goldberg. And everybody knows Goldberg from mowing people down. And then what's after that? I don't know. Because that's what I did. like, you can't make me funny. There's nothing you can do with me. I am this person. Cody's in the spot where he's still got a new car center on him 'cause he got hurt really quick. And if you bring him in and you put that title on him, you don't really know where to go with him. Well, you have rumble which isn't a ton of time through mania where he got a face of solo. I don't know. He has to deal with Seth Rollins still. That's not done. No, but that's, again, you're asking what feud can you have after Roman? Oh yeah, well, after Romans. So you can go Seth. There's a plethora of heels for him to run through. You can do a really good, and I'm not saying that like, again, bray around the belt is weird. I don't need breaks to be superhuman. He can't ever lose, by the way. No, I don't even know. So there's a really good story to tell between Cody Rhodes, whether he's champion or not. And Bray Wyatt, where their families are both WWE royalty, but why it was never looked at as Cody is looked at. Where dusty, the son of a plumber, all this stuff, Cody, the dashing Cody Rhodes, and looking at him from afar and all of that stuff. And why it was never given those opportunities. He was kind of cast off, even though both of their fathers were in the WWE both, like my dad was not looked at as like my family was looked at as lesser. There's a good story to pull out there. Another great heel. So like you got some, got some meat on the bone. Well, here's the question. And I don't know the answer to this, and I'm not saying this facetiously. I'm being serious. Does the contract the verbal contract that Cody had with Vince upon his return work for Triple H? Listen, man, the guy didn't publicly shit on me for three and a half years. I don't know. But I'm saying like, no, I mean, as great as Triple H is. The click is still a thing. Yes. He has been an asshole before in his life. He has. He has been petty. Plenty of times in his life. Right. This is the time where if he wants, but I'm not saying I'm not saying him being petty. I'm saying him looking at what he's doing because Vince always was very insular and he was just like, this is what I want to happen. I'm going to make this happen with the crowd likes it or not. Triple H is like, okay, this is working. So let's move more this way. Like the Sami Zayn thing, all right, we're going to keep him in bloodline longer, 'cause it's got legs. Now Cody comes back. He's like, all right, time to get my title and hold on. It's not time. I think Tripp is already planning this because again, Tripp's isn't dumb. And trips for whatever it's worth has been a part of several amazing returns. Especially rumble returns. Yeah, most of them. His own Cena. Yeah. He knows the pop and the longevity and how to make someone off of an injury return. Yes, so when he takes the gig, he understands like I have this piece. That I'm going to need to play this card. He's got a cast underneath. WWE has done this shit before, okay? They've done Cody Rhodes takes a pretty bad look and spot. You know, maybe it's a table. I don't know. Something that looks painful and you know it's painful because he's just been healing. All right, bye Cody Rhodes, he goes to sleep. Either either he's under the ring, just hanging out for the rest of the match, or they bring attention to it. Medical personnel come out, Cody, you shouldn't be out here dude. It'd be obviously more dramatic, but that happens because late in the match, Cody Rhodes, Cody Rhodes comes out and he climbs that ladder, and he takes the brief. One armed. One arm Cody Rhodes is going to win men's money in the bank ladder match. This Saturday in Vegas. What? Why Cole? Would you just say that because that's been the build the whole time? I mean, Cody gets a countdown clock. Cody, when he's getting an interview spot in raw, gets us gets a promo. Cody Rhodes is their guy. To eventually take a title at some point. And what better story can you have than him just tormenting Roman Reigns every time? Because he doesn't have to show up to the arena. He can continue his rehab and just keep shooting promos with the briefcase. And he can just keep being there and be like, Roman. Hey, what's going on buddy? You know, I'm just sitting on this and I'm just waiting for this bad boy to heal. I just had to make one I had to push through and I did it for all my fans and all the people who are rooting for me and his dad. And I'm doing it for my dad. He does another dad promo, right? Don't forget the tears. We got to have some tea. Oh yeah, yeah. What do you guys want to talk about? Yeah, exactly. He's going to have to throw down one of those. And the dog. Bring the dog. Yeah. All of that is to say, the reason why I say this is because as dangerous and money in the bank ladder matches, you open up the possibility that you can do this a little more safely than Hell in a Cell with your half your body is purple. So it was a lot of variables into this match that we had to keep on cutting up and putting together cutting up. So probably the final okay okay was maybe like an hour prior to the match. Wow. Yeah. Now how did you feel about that match? I felt good. I felt good. Red velvet made me feel very comfortable. She's one of our best sellers that we have. She's a stellar performer. I felt comfortable. Cody made me feel comfortable shit. I remember walking out actually. Before I walked out, I looked at Shaq and I said, you better kill it. And he looked at me and he was like, excuse me? Is intimidating, especially when you don't have the support of your biggest asset. You took my next question cause I was wondering about how that impacts you as a world class athlete when you don't have the fan energy to draw upon.
