The Brewers are working on contract extension with Christian Yelich that could exceed $200 million
"Christian Yelich might be the next superstar in sports to put pen to paper on a massive contract the brewers India which are closing in on what is being reported as a nine year two hundred fifteen million dollar contract now if you're like me when you first hear that nine years and two hundred fifteen million for Christian Yelich who was the MVP two seasons ago any runner up for the most valuable player award last year when he got hurt and missed a month you're probably thinking to fifteen does not seem like enough and I would tend to agree with you about that he is taking a dramatic discount to sign this extension which is basically seven years a hundred ninety million in new money when you just saw it the rain don't who hadn't been in the top two in MVP voting over the last two years in the National League get seven years and two hundred forty five million to go to the angels in free agency when you've seen our unato in Colorado no one or not get a massive two hundred and thirty plus million dollar contract over eight seasons and here we're talking about new money seven and one ninety for a guy who might be the best player in the National League the deal was first reported today by the athletics some of the details of trickled out of come from ESPN's Jeff Passan he's got this basically yellowish would play the next two seasons starting this year on his current contract so he's scheduled to make I was about to say only how funny is that only twelve and a half million in two thousand twenty and then fourteen million next year but you know I laughed at that as far as the production B. provides and and the elite performance is gonna provide Daddy's shopping in the bargain bin that's finding one of your favorite movies in the five dollar DVD been at your favorite electronics store so the extension for that seventy one ninety would basically kick in for the brewers in two thousand twenty two and go through two thousand twenty eight and there be a mutual option in the final year in twenty twenty nine but you go back two seasons ago when Yelich won the M. V. P. he established himself after leaving Miami where he was an excellent hater and a lot of folks felt like maybe he would win a batting title at some point but didn't get a lot of help we did have a lot of production and protection rather to go along with his production there just weren't players around him as good as him to help him out as they were going to getting rid of all their pieces Giancarlo Stanton Marcello's owner he was the last guy standing so we got to go to Milwaukee and give it a try there and immediately flourished completely took off and became one of the greats in the sport and for my money right now this moment Christian Yelich of the brewers is the most underrated player in baseball which might sound ludicrous considering that he wanted MVP award is finished in the top two twice in two years but I still think when we have conversations in this industry about who the best baseball players are Mike trout's name comes out of everyone's mouth first then you get some of the bigger names that maybe don't even belong in that conversation right now based on performance like Bryce Harper Manny Machado those types but who is the second best player in the sport yeah which might be the answer Cody Bellinger won the MVP award with the Dodgers last year is in that vicinity I'd say there's a a four player tier behind trout vying for the number two seed in the sport with the yellow shoes twenty eight Ballenger who's only twenty four just barely starting to think about Mookie Betts becks is now twenty seven went from Boston to LA this offseason in a deal that took forever to consummate and Alex Bregman the twenty five year old villain now with the Astros who is so much better four in the wake of finding out that Houston Bregman has cheated over the last couple of seasons at least dating back to seventeen and some of eighteen that they've admitted to Bregman the MVP of the American League last year in my opinion ended up not finishing right behind trout and I kind of quantify things as non trout division because he should just get the award every year so I kind of say well other than trap who was the MVP this year you're competing against a legend the likes of which is going to go down as maybe the best players ever lived or one of them no one of the mount Rushmore baseball stars essentially and a guy that you'll meet people listening right now we're not gonna see another player like him probably in our
Mike Trout rips cheating Astros, calls for bigger punishment
"Happy Spring Training has been so happy so far. No I was GONNA say being the leadoff hitter is generally a good thing but not if the leadoff hitter for the Astros in two thousand one that might be a little bit dicey so on Monday Mike. Trout spoke in baseball circles. I really feel like it's words that are being carved on tablets might trout use. The Word Cheat. He noted the absurdity of the advantage of knowing what pitch is coming at this Take Note Jim Crane any express frustration over the fact. The Astra's haven't been disciplined. He spoke forcefully as forcefully as he has an N. issue baseball. And if you're the astros in your angry the world right now this might be the moment that forces you to look in the mirror I really feel like when Clayton Kershaw sees about the said something the Astros might dismiss it as well. Those guys are sore losers because we beat them. When cody bellinger said something they might think. Well what are you talking about your strikeout machine? In the two thousand Seventeen World Series Boba shed Gleyber Torres. Come out and said things they might think. Shut up you too young to say anything. One might. Trout says something that has to resonate even with the most defying the Astros. Because not only is a great players you know. He's also incredibly respected within the sport and they know him as a great in accepting person and so i. I sent on twitter this morning. That it's like getting yelled at by your favorite uncle. There's just something to it. What do you think yeah no look? I Applied Mike Trout. You know he's not always a man of many words. That's for sure you know. I'm sure he considered beforehand. What he was going to say he obviously knew these questions or coming to him so he took obviously a very strong stance towards not only the Astros but towards the commissioner so as one of the faces of the game. I absolutely applaud him for coming down. Hard on everything that's happened. So tell me how you think he's. Words would go over with a George Springer and Altoona Bregman Carlos Correa marlins not on the Astros anymore but certainly saw him early this spring address this because I feel like that they would just listen and say nothing. It wouldn't be any complaints among the Astros and Mike. Trout speaks in this way. What do you think yeah? It's a good question. You know for all the apologies. We've now seen the Astros gives since that initial press conference. I still don't know if there's a lot of remorse or regret at least I haven't been down there in West Palm was Houston. But that's the feeling I get from far that they did it. They know they're supposed to apologize. But they're still feeling of. We got away with it. We one where the champs so be it So I don't think that feeling of remorse. Is there now. Is that going to change? Because Mike Trout says he's lost respect for them. Probably not you would hope they. Would you know do a little inner self reflecting and sink a little more about their actions? But I think they're also it's also easy to say. This happened in two thousand seventeen. We don't care moving on and maybe that's what the sport itself does need to do at some point this spring and I feel like that is best for the Astros at this point. Let's face it. They've taken a lot of incoming shots they punch back the other day. I think it's time for them to stop worrying about trying to save what they've already loss. You know watching Carlos Correa over the weekend pushed back a talk about individual situations in the world series when they weren't cheating and I I thought it was absurd. Yes we were cheating in the first inning the second and third inning but in that run-scoring spot in the fence. We weren't cheating you know and to extend my a comparison the astros with someone who cheated in neighborhood poker game. Can you imagine if someone said? Yeah we dealt from the bottom of the deck with firsthand second anther. We played that fourth. Hand straight up like other players. Don't WanNa hear that and I feel like that while Carlos was passionate in trying to absolve Jose altuve and trying to draw lines. It's a waste of time. Their legacies in cement. It's over in terms of the Court of public opinion. No absolutely and we all know. There's only one solution for the Astros and that's to go out and win the World Series in twenty twenty and at least remove the cloud of suspicion for this season. When we're pretty sure they're not gonNA Poll any shenanigans released today extent. They have that is the only way two thousand seventeen as you said that legacy is incident. You know it's always GonNa be be doubt now. They're going to go out and prove that they actually are as good as we think they. They are at least as good as they've been the last three years
Carlos Correa fires back at Cody Bellinger
"Jeff as Mets and Yankees position players continue filing into camp player some all around baseball continue to take verbal shots the Houston Astros over the cheating scandal Cody Bellinger the Dodgers was one of those players who ripped the Astros in repose a al to say in particular Carlos Correa of the Astros responded today Hadi billing there's job is to look for information getting form know the facts for sure before he stands in front of cameras to talk about other players you should get inform you should be informed before you talk all our players if you don't know the facts when you get a job ray in particular is talking about al to say he said Jose Altuve ETS one astro who did not cheat Korea told all that to Ken Rosenthal of the
Dodgers complete deal for Betts, Price
"Hairston junior of course former major league player world champion with the Yankees And of course the dodgers address analysts for Spectral Sports Net L. A. Jerry. Welcome to the PODCAST. How you doing very well very well? Yes on in Wednesday afternoon four o'clock eastern time. The big press conference at Dodger Stadium. Yes mookie Betts and David price coming to Los Angeles. I know you got to like train and your thoughts. I'm extremely excited. You know the dodgers the last few years. I've put themselves in position to possibly win a world series. It hasn't happened but I really believe adding guy like Mookie Betts in my opinion five baseball ballplayer all in all the major leagues. Excellent top of the order hitter. You know I think this is. He's kind of like the generations. Ricky Henderson excellent speed is they're gonNA NOT GONNA steal a hundred thirty basis because nobody does that anymore really. Nobody did that with ricky played But he gives you speed at the top power A great outfielder in right field. And you put him in the lineup with next month cody bellinger Justin Turner And so on and so forth this is arguably the best lineup and all of baseball and then add to This dodge rotation healthy David Price. Who Brings in championship type pedigree and I really believe? He's GonNa be pitching with a chip on his shoulder. I'm having something to prove the season so I'm excited for the dodgers and the city of La. Jerry dodgers needed a good right handed bat. That lineup is loaded with lefties. This bets bets is going to help that isn't he. Absolutely you know anytime you get a chance to Have the best players in all of baseball. And you're on your lineup. She'd He'd be in your lineup. It's GONNA help but you're always looking for balance and you know like you mentioned. The dodgers were heavy left handed The last two years with Jock Petersen Jason Cory seager cody bellinger Max money. There's nothing wrong with having left handed power but you WANNA kinda offset that a little bit especially with the emergence of Gavin Luxa the new Start second base going to the dodgers have. He's a left handed batter. So you WanNa make sure you balanced when you're facing writings and left these Throughout the season the playoffs so why not not get arguably the best right handed hitting outfielder outside of my trout in base going. That's looking back and Jerry. You don't look at this as as has some sort of rental you don't make a trade for guy player like Mookie Betts and not be willing to sign this guy who can be a free agent. After next year you fully the expect. The dodgers to ante up and paid has got to be a dodger for a long time. Don't you absolutely I liken this to like an Anthony Davis you you know you. Trade for Anthony Davis get him in the fold let them see. La Let him be Laker and see how great it is to be living in La very similar with mookie Betts. You get him over here here. Let them play in this ballpark. Be a dodger Every day Get accustomed to you know the lifestyle. LA which. Really second to none. Being in the bright lights of Hollywood. I I think he's going to love it here and WanNa sign back and certainly. The dodgers have the resources to sign a guy like me or about so. Hopefully he's comfortable here which I think he will be. And we'll love to play here because everybody played here including myself has a loved. But I'm not putting on that dodger. Blue Guess on inside the park a podcast is of course Jerry Hairston junior former major league player and analyst for the dodgers in their TV broadcasts The other part is MOOKIE BETTS AND PRICE COM from Boston and they're under a cloud of suspicion. They're under investigation for what went down with their ex manager. Now Alex Cora and the dodgers chargers got a bronco event they lost in the world series in two thousand eighteen to the red sox. Where do you make of that? Where Mookie Betts and David Price could possibly be implemented uh implicated and talk about that they took part in what could wind up being yet? Another cheating scandal baseball. Well you know what I've heard it. You know before the the commissioner ruled on the Astros. We'd heard rumblings for a couple of weeks. What was coming down the road and we knew it was pretty pretty bad We know that the commission she's GonNa ruin the red SOx pretty pretty quickly. That's what we're hearing And we've also heard it's not nearly as bad as the Astros so I'm kind of banking on that anytime you play a team in the world series and the Super Bowl or the or the NBA finals. You WanNa make sure both sides are on the up and up. And I'm hoping that was the case with the with the Red Sox I'm hoping Alex Cora bidding implement everything that he has with Houston in Boston but that's yet to be seen But you know now that is the guys like Bats and David Price on the fold You gotta wait and see. I'm hoping they weren't a part of it. Obviously David price being a pitcher. Sure certainly wasn't that part of it because it was on the offensive side of the ball. And I'm hoping mookie wasn't in wasn't a part of that as well so that's got to be seen Bob Open for the good in

Dodgers fear Seager has serious hamstring strain
"But if you're watching the dodgers angels baseball game just a few hours ago. In fact, it was right before we started the freeway series. It's just a two game set and the dodgers. They lost those games both of them to the angels, but bigger picture, they may have lost Cory Seager. So this is this is what happened. It was ninth inning says, watching it live when it happened, it was ninth inning, and he was on second base at this point, the dodgers trailing by a couple of runs and trying to mount a comeback and maybe stunned the. Either win the game or force extra innings and Cory Seager is on second base. And one of his teammates, I think it was Alex, do go Alex, do go bounces of ball up the middle and Seger is about to hit the bag third when he grabs his hamstring. And so it wasn't even as he was rounding the bag. It wasn't a step wrong or a plant wrong. I know he was just about to get to third base. And I don't know whether or not the judges would have sent him it wasn't a hard hit ball by virtue go, but it didn't it didn't go very deep into the outfield either. And so all I shifted to Corey as he gets third base. He goes, a couple of steps passed it, and then is in massive pain, and right away, he signals for the training staff to come out and help him and he walks off the field. He he can't even stay on the bag. He gets replaced by pinch runner. He walks off the field and the dodgers have tentatively. Diagnosed him with what is a grade two plus hamstring strain. Okay. So grey to plus, meaning that it's great to or worse. And the word that I just saw on online is that they fear it could be very serious hamstring injury. This is forget the dodgers. Now the first second anyway, the dodgers are one of the best teams in major league baseball. They're off to a torrid start. And we just talked to Rick Honeycutt their pitching coach about the team about their, their desire to get back, of course, and try to win a World Series after two consecutive losses in the last couple October's and how much fun this team is and how good they are and there's been so much focus on Cody Bellinger. But getting Cory Seager back is also been huge for them member. He missed last year with injury most of last year with injury and now appears as though he has done something to his hamstring. We'll wait to find out, I hate to speculate and I always hoping against hope that I'm completely wrong. Maybe holding out some hope with Kevin Durant, though, that one seems

"Nobre three Minnesota Twins as of Tuesday. They were thirty six and sixteen. They're playing great ball. How about this after cheating, not a single eight home run game in the past fifty five seasons the twins done at once but twice already twenty nineteen and it's before June. Everyone's talking about the offense and rightfully soba, Minnesota's pitching has been surprising. And that's the reason that they've been dominating. So they have more than parets is seven one with a stingy. Two point nine eight ERA the Minnesota Twins for real number two. The Los Angeles Dodgers. I know people think they belong in top spot. Not yet. Cody bellinger. What are you doing leads the National League in war? The dodgers pitching has been off the charts. They just continue to roll. They've been rolled steamroll than everybody at Dodger Stadium. They have an impressive as of Tuesday twenty and six record at that beautiful ballpark in Los Angeles. And everything seems to be pointing that the dodgers are in rude to yet a seven straight National League West division, title, number one, and I tried to warn you early in the season. You didn't believe me, the best team in baseball is still the New York freaking Yankees during this seven game win streak which was snapped on Sunday. The Yankees scored at least six runs in every game and average eight and a half runs and they still don't have all their play. Back the Yankees won almost as many games on the road, this year as they have at home, which is incredible seventeen in eight on the road as of Tuesday. And here's the other one the BT bombers the backups of bidding to equal the Yankees twenty eighteen historic homerun, pace to hitting the ball out of the pork without Stanton without judge this Yankee team bruised. And battered is the best team in baseball, be sure to catch live editions of the odd.

"That's a constant gardener type effort, constant gardener of our own out, no town, but we're not talking about him. We're talking about Cody Bellinger, talked about a guy who is in some circles rivaling a one, Mike trout. Wow. We're going there as far as, if you were going to start your organization, day, Cody Bellinger is now in that conversation for people frankly, he's not for me. If you're comparing those two individuals like I'm just I'm still just taking Mike trout. That's just taking mic drop because I believe if you're gonna holler at me about flexibility in this, and you could probably go stand, Mike trout over at first base. Yeah. I mean like any conversation of would you take this guy or that guy? My child has never not commerce. Mitro trout's, always the answer. So you say if you could have Cody Bellinger or player, ex player x cannot be my job. But you can have that conversation right now today like you can have a debate about Cody Bellinger or Christian yelich. You can have a debate about that can have a debate about Cody Bellinger, or Mookie Betts, sure. But you can't have to be with my trip. My trout again, there's might trout. You know, like my trumpet start have been trout, the dead guy's because it's trout and the conversation about hall of fame individuals that were having because he's better than a lot of those dudes already. That's my go-to. It's, it's just it's a different level has levels. Yeah. But Cody Bellinger has been a lot of fun to watch and I'm not saying that, like I want a redo on the Bellinger interview, because it wasn't good is just I enjoy in person interviews, significantly more. And I feel like we could have gotten a lot more out of them. And now this thing Dallas, and now it's Cody Bellinger. Now it's Belgium. Belgium, because I was rookie of the year coda Bill. I did it. But now it's now it's other worldly. He of the fuck four hundred batting average for the first month plus of the season. Correct that guy. Right. And you know what's great though, Dallas. Tell me immediately is we my since we have a report with them. Now, we might be able to track them down and Cleveland because I would imagine at this juncture. Yeah, he's probably starting you probably starting on the mound for the Annell at this. If you were to tally up right now. Cody Bellinger, is you're starting pitcher. He's that's what he's doing. Yes, is, is going to be the, the starter for the National League. Baton first fourth seventh and ninth Cody Bellinger. That's how prominently he should be featured in this game. But there are some news we gotta get into from this past week, this one of the first one happened at Fenway park. It was it was unfortunate. George springer. E of the Houston Astros. They're already down Jose altuve at this point. Now, George Springer who has been. Not the Cody Bellinger of the American League. But he's been pretty damn good in his own, right? Leading the league in a multitude of categories homers total bases. The opium is up over a thousand he's an impact player. He's a guy and that's what when you go back to twenty seventeen and you start talking about the Houston Astros, and the core that they built and every great team has the one guy where it's like, yeah, we get our fucking guy. We got supporting cast of other pretty good guys. But we have our guy the Houston Astros. Could play a carousel of MVP candidates based on the year. Like there's going to be a year where Jose altuve eight did win the MVP. There's going to be a year where Alex bregman wins, the MVP Carlos Correa was a lot of our picks for MVP going into last year. And now you have George Springer. Who if you extrapolate the season that he's having over a full season. He's your fucking American League MVP or close to it. You obviously have to consider my trout every single year, but like the fact that the Houston Astros have constructed this core through the draft in international free agent. Signings is in you, can you can knock them all you want..

"He's swinging it better pitches. His strikeout rate has dropped a huge amount about in half. And they sweep the pirates yesterday and they're rolling. They are role in dodger sweep much like Travis said, but the real question is is Cody Bellinger, real or not Cody Bellinger is having the best April ever Belgium's numbers. He's hitting four twenty seven with thirty six Rigby in joins an exclusive club a players with fourteen home runs before may first that's fourteen home runs before may first dogs. There. He falls in the category with yelich in twenty nineteen S fourteen. So they're even Alex Rodriguez and seven would fourteen Albert Paulsen. Six with fourteen I think the angels elected go back to six pool halls point in time. But of course, the dodgers season started in late March this year thus being before may first qualifier decades ago. This season didn't start into mid April. The most remarkable aspects of Belgian start is he's cut his strikeouts which chopping wood in my opinion rate in half to twenty three point ninety from eleven point thirteen percent. Eleven point three percent. Yeah. He's he's making four more contact and he's driving the ball. He's doing all. He looks like an MVP candidate. I mean, everything about you said, you've already started construction on his statue l z and I'm getting ready to help you. I might move some some stuff around it. He's. Locked in. He's their best player. He's the guy that when he comes up you expect him to hit the ball hard. And he has it's not like we hasn't cooled off at all. He started hot. He stayed hot still is focused in Dowd in for whatever reason last year he had a down year this year. He feel think he came back ready to go. He wanted to show some people that that's off more slump was just not what it was. This is now I'm in my third year. I'm gonna be a professional now. My I caught the league by storm. I think they caught up to me my second year started pressing. And now, I'm a little more relaxed. I know what to look for know what it is. And that's where he's at. I'm not a baseball aficionado. I've never played a sport apple any level. I play the streets Detroit, though, does count for something. It's something. I don't know what. But I've watched God knows how many baseball both live and on television, and you can tell I think within a players I two plate appearances. Just what kind of to me they have pacing. Are they the kind of pressing Tony Gwynn to me? Like he was standing there with the scotch and one hand and cigar, and he's like I'm just going to wait till you make mistake. I'm not gonna press. I'm not gonna swing. I'm gonna wait to make contact and he went and he did. And that's why he was one of the greatest hitters of all time Cody Belgian his first year, even though he may content. Get the break numbers, you knew he was like hottest do he goes swing? The sudas. The ball leaves your hand. He's already made up his mind. I'm swinging for the fences there's a certain level of maturity that he seems to have possessed yet some point between the end of last season in the beginning of this one that he found that he's been able to hold onto. I am incredibly impressed. Now. I also watched enough baseball like you have to understand that sometimes guys can get hot for a week two weeks even a month, sometimes even half a season. And this isn't a an apples to apples comparison. But go back a few seasons. Go in jock Petersen. I showed up and remember he was a guy one twenty three twenty four home runs at the all star break, and all of a sudden, they figured..

"Super-safe alcohol and drawing axes Mix. mix. Maybe. Anyways, we get Cody Bellinger pumped cast got to talk to him for a little bit. He didn't. I had the one question that I want to really get an answer on didn't quite get it as I was fishing on one of those questions, you let's let's kick it to the interview. And then and then after we listened to it, you can I'll let you guess which one it was Cody Bellinger. All right. We are here with the twenty seventeen and L rookie of the year. Two time National League champion, Cody Bellinger. How we doing? I'm doing good. How about you guys doing? All right. We're doing it. Right back and forth. He was talking about earlier how he was in Arizona. You're an Amazon right now. Actually, let's start there. Let's start there with with your workout routine because you played in all one hundred sixty two games last season. And then you have a back to back World Series appearances. How do you sort of train your body for a full season of baseball knowing that there's a pretty good chance that you're going to be going deep into October on top of that one sixty two. Yeah. I mean, that's I think when you play it seem like the dodgers you prepare in January that you're gonna play until October every single year, you know, if that you know, we have short off seasons, and you probably take a week or two off. And then you get right back into jam. But I think the biggest thing is thanks legible and obviously getting stronger, but getting to a point where you can maintain it and stay healthy all year round. Well, you know, so you guys you you're talking about training you're talking about how to prepare the body, bro. How do you relax the body? Because when I think a lot of people don't really understand is when you talk about getting ready in January to play through October. Like, you do the math there. There's not much time for downtimes for fucking or an art to chill out. So how do you how do you get away from the game because you're out there in the desert, you're Scottsdale? I love me the desert just left Mesa. But what do you? What do you do to to just Marigny? You know what I'm saying to get away from the game. What have you been doing this Altis? Man. Honestly, I don't do much. I think the thing that I loved to do in the offseason golf. Of course, the same thing. What course out there? I've got I've got my my favorite one adult out right now is TV. Sees got still sure it's pretty nice and not too expensive. But do you ever? Do you ever game too? Great. He gave us great. No, it's not great. Oh, even better that we could play around because I was gonna I was gonna talk some shit. But now that you're not good now. Now you and I we could play a little playing field. Yeah. I'm probably high nineties two hundred every time he goes like just like fastball jeered. In Dallas is he probably never broke eighty five in the big leagues. So let's just talk about that. Then talk about this. Fastball velocity. I talked to a scout. Who is like these guys that are playing now the hitters at least it's fucked. What they have to deal with when when it when it turns into the sixth inning. It's like all right. Every dude has ninety eight in his back pocket. And obviously you see north of that. As someone who has played multiple levels of baseball now and your at the big league level..

"Ups later in the game. Yup. He is right. He's not the only dodger who does it. But he ran up the first base line bat in hand on a pop up. Just a bad look set by Rodriguez. Down in the way of all of the strike Machado. The the free agency is part of the story. But the hey help your team win a World Series. Now is really the biggest part of the store. I think also it's interesting to look at, you know, the the contrast coast to coast in Boston, those fans would not tolerate that, you know, here you can get away with it in Los Angeles. No score bottom of the first and a lot of one on the way. It's a little down in the ball to run you out of town in Boston. And that's that was your effort. Yup. On a nightly basis. And it's not like Dave Roberts accepts it. And it's not like he's happy about it. And it's not like he hasn't tried to change it. There roberts. Put a lot of energy a week over the last few years since Roberts became the managers. Well. Rodriguez sets to and wanted to count on shadow and a picture all the way fastball in there too. Yeah. Wouldn't surprise me. If there was a conversation between Dave and Machado after what happened yesterday. But this is probably not the best time brand new dress that right in the middle of the World Series. He probably wouldn't expect to have to address it right in the middle of the World Series. Cody Bellinger, you're waiting on deck if Machado can get aboard the lead it I buy Turner very shortly to being held onto by Pierce's. Now Rodriguez comes set Nicole on the right side of the infield withhold shooting up the middle. On the way fouled straight back by the channel. So the dodgers doing what the Red Sox are really known for more fouling off pitches extending it a badge Rodriguez hasn't started a gave it a while. He's been in relief all through the playoffs. So we have a hundred pitches at we'll have to wait and see. Have a chance of let's go dodgers. But it's kind of a kind of feels like a sleepy Sunday one o'clock game here right now, everybody's still a little worn out from last night. Here's a set. And again the to the swing and a fly ball to right center field. But it is playable not that Jeep at all. It'll be JD Martinez right fielder batch to make the catch. "Herald radio we are the World Series gang. John's apathetic jets drier and Christian brick going Red Sox lead the World Series two games to none after winning both games at Fenway park. The series moves to the west coast Dodger Stadium in games three four and potentially game. Five three and four tonight and tomorrow game five if needed is on Sunday after both teams with left handed starting pitching in Boston. They're both gonna trot out right handed starting pitching tonight. Rick forsillo for the Boston Red Sox and Walker. Bueller for the Los Angeles Dodgers initial should set up better for the dodgers because they can put their left-handed lineup out there, which includes three guys who accumulated eighty five home runs this year. Max Muncie, Cody Bellinger, and of course, Jack Peterson. So it's going to be they're better lineup going forward. Because they had trouble hitting lefties this year, they hit better against righties Portillo is potentially a home run. Guy who can susceptible to giving up home runs. And it's going to be an interesting game tonight. Red Sox win tonight. They take total control series dodgers win. Well, maybe we have a series. So we're looking at two righties tonight Jetton Portillo and Walker. Bueller? Yeah. And we're talking about an experience sort of a veteran guy and Eric Portillo and Walker. Bueller? Is by all accounts, a rookie. I think he had eight appearances last season. So he he's a rookie and he had an excellent year for the dodgers finished the season with a with a two point six year Ray, which is fantastic. And he's he's a big. He's a big pitcher. He's six two. These got good stuff. He's somebody that the dodgers think is going to be the guy who anchors that staff after Kershaw hangs it up. So it should be a decent pitching matchup. But, but as you mentioned with with Rick Portillo don't necessarily know what you're going to get out of him. And a lot of that has to do with what you just mentioned is susceptible to giving up home runs as we've seen even even when he wanted Cy Young gives up runs. It's just sort of the way it goes this year, he gave up twenty seven home runs last year was even worse if I'm recalling correctly when they just look real quickly. Yes. He gave up thirty eight last year. Yeah. No he susceptible to home runs. And now the dodgers rollout Peterson and Bellinger and Muncie to go along with Turner and Machado. And so they have some power there without question. They led the National League in home runs this year with two hundred and thirty five this year with seventeen and seven four point two eight era era. It's not that great. But he's a guy who gives you two hundred innings a year. In the postseason so far ten two-thirds innings you given up twelve hits five earned runs. Struck out six and walked one he said two relief appearances in there and to starts. One was good. That was against the Yankees one. Not so good against the Houston Astros. Ray Portland's both Wednesday every game. He's pitched so far in the postseason. The Red Sox have gone on to win. Rick forsillo spoke yesterday about making his World Series appearance tonight against the dodgers recommended you find out you're starting game after game.

"Dodgers, we've we've talked about lineups. And we've talked about, you know, just Mendoza makes an instinct point she says she understands why jock Petersen doesn't play against the left-hander. There's a very clear split for jock between left-handers and right handers. But she doesn't understand max Muncie. She doesn't understand Cody Bellinger. Although in fairness, Cody Bellinger is one for sixteen against left-handers in this postseason this year. That's what makes part of it as large as a small sample size shirt. But what makes it complicated is when a guy doesn't perform well in the splits, but also just isn't playing well right now. Our hit. Well right now. So it starts reinforcing. What the metrics are telling you like, it's one thing. If you've got a guy, that's you know, left handed, but hits lefties reasonably well, but you refuse to do it just because you're supposed to go right handed bat, that's gonna think you're over thinking it. But when you get a guy who doesn't perform well against left handed pitching and isn't hitting well in the moment, you get nervous in fairness. I think about putting that guy out there against a left. Bright one of the wrinkles for tonight's game is the JD Martinez who rolled an ankle in game one and noticeably rolled it, and you could see in game two that he ran out of grant a ground ball and had trouble running because of his ankle. He is going to be we assume playing in right field, Greg. You said you saw a Twitter their pictures of them working on a right field. Yes. There's someone on Twitter that works at another station that has picture of. JD Martinez taking fly balls in right field. And it just doesn't make sense to me. I didn't realize there was another station. There's another station look at the ratings. There. Wow. NPR again. Right. So he is he is working out in right field that he's working on right field. And it just doesn't understand. Maybe he is a right fielder. But if he has a bum ankle you really want him in right field which want to hide them in. Len is a right fielder thing these all right fielder. But Matt Kemp is was a center fielder. And then he was a left fielder and then he can play right field. If you play in the outfield, you can pretty much play most positions. Okay. You're going to try and I told you guys yesterday be in right field. Guys both argument. I thought he'd been led right feel and it's not high end the lineup sent out. We still don't know if JD Martinez plays. He'd be in. Right. Mookie Betts would be in center. Andrew Benintendi would be in left. And Jackie Bradley, jR, would be the atman out if they decide JD Martinez. Can't go in right field than Mookie would be in. Right. A? J J would be in centerfield and Benintendi would be in left as usual. So you now agree though, that J J is gonna be out of the lineup and Andy will stay. Yes. Absolutely. Hate him out of the lineup at this point. He made a great catch catching game two. He was had four Hausa catching game two. It's ridiculous. Yeah. Well, that's that's saved their run that saves their game. Because that would have been a Brian dosier double that would have led off for that inning. We have nobody out. So that would that was a huge huge play. You know, one of the things coming back next, Greg producer guy, Greg discovered. A really interesting nugget that is telling about who is actually making decisions for the dodgers. That's coming up. Plus we'll get into last night's Lakers victory over the Denver Nuggets. Great night for LeBron his first triple double as a Laker. We are live at mohawk band on your way to the game. Stop here. Great food. Great booze. Great. Dave Roberts, Cody Bellinger and MVP discussed on The Herd with Colin Cowherd
"World Series last night Red Sox went up to all on the dodgers at Fenway park. But don't blame. Dave Roberts in the NFL. Pete Carroll makes seven and a half million dollars. That's double what is general manager makes Sean Payton the saints makes nine million dollars a year. That's triple what is GM makes. But with the dodgers, the general manager Andrew Friedman make seven million dollars a year and the manager Dave Roberts makes one million. So stop blaming him. He wasn't allowed to play his best players last night. Because the guys up stairs run baseball. Everybody wants to did Dave Roberts. Just get dumb. Didn't even all the great moves against Milwaukee. No. He just got dumb and a week know the difference between that game last night is the Red Sox played all their best players and their stars were allowed to be stars. And Mookie Betts star three hits JD Martinez star huge RBI to RBI single. David price star sixth grade innings. Dave Roberts went to his office and said, I can't wait to we're a home run hitting team. I'm gonna pay. Oh, no. You can't play your home run hitters. Well, what do you mean? We were second in baseball and home runs. We led the National League in home runs. But the analytics overruled at upstairs and said, Cody bellinger's not gonna play I want you to think about that. Cody. Ballot ger was the National League championship series MVP. And he is not started for the first two games because he bats left handed. World Series expert picks: Will Red Sox or Dodgers win it all?
"Teams after I saw every one of them playing person Red Sox Astros, Yankees, Indians brewers dodgers and that order. I absolutely think the Boston Red Sox have a better club that the dodgers. And I think they'll win this in six or seven I agree on the six and seven. I don't see us going to sweep like so many people do and part of it is there's not a lot of experience on both sides against you know, the top tier pitching Manny Machado in. Brian dozer have seen Chris sale at ninety seven ninety two and done some damage against them. And the same thing goes with Clayton Kershaw JD Martinez being in the, you know, the front of the order in owning Kershaw relatively in in eleven at bats. Do you sense that the key to the series is the field period? And who could feel out the other team quicker? Well, I think that's part of it. But in a short series in for me in any any series. It's about the pitching in. I am concerned about Chris sale. I'm not as concerned anymore. As much as I was about Kershaw. He's got the Kershaw. Although he's more of a craftsman. Now, you've got three lefties going for the dodgers you got to in the rotation going for the Red Sox. I'll take my chances with the right handed hitting Boston Red Sox against those three lefties. I think that could be a big big advantage when you are looking at a JD Martinez in the middle of the order, Mookie Betts, Bogaerts Nunez, those guys that hit from the right side. I think they're going to do some damage in Fenway. I think it's gonna be a different game in LA. You know, I I worry about them pitching to die like, Cody Bellinger. For example. I think he had to keep the ball up on him. He's an uppercut swinger. You put the ball down. You may never see it again. I think these are pretty quick pitchers at I think the way they pitched the opposition is going. Is going to determine who winces, and that's not a genius comment. Are they it's all about the pitching, no doubt? And I think the way that the the Red Sox has set it up where they have Chris sale going game one David price game two, and then the unknown so ripper Selo and Nathanael have all the will be coming out of the pen in the first game or two depending on what goes on in. Do you sense it they're they're protecting themselves from a a short start from occur sailing game one? Right. I think that's exactly what they're doing. I don't think I would even though they did it all year long. I don't think I would pick up these back to back. I think they are doing it. Look, I think Alex Cora was the manager of the year. He and bo-, you know, bowl mill with the athletics. I don't say anything that guy does. But sale, you know, just coming back from the hospital probably lost a couple pounds said he couldn't afford to lose place at the game of his life. Can he do twice in a row? I think that can that's why I think the Red Sox are a little bit better team at this point of the year much better during the season. But you know, you gotta give credit for the dodgers. They scrapped themselves back into this. They one and I give him credit. I just don't think I think they're going to get get up managed. I think Alex Cora and the Red Sox front office is gonna do the job. A former staffer the Astros and Mariners currently with clubhouse corner dot com is kind enough to join us here. Cambio tonight. Drew harvard. Kevin Franson, we are previewing Dame one of the World Series tomorrow night at Fenway Red Sox dodgers Clayton Kershaw. Chris sale. We've been talking about the pitching birdie. I do want to get more into the offense on both of these teams. We're talking about a dodger team who set their franchise record two hundred and thirty four home runs this year. And then he had the Red Sox knocked around. The Astros was twenty nine runs in five games. Jackie Bradley, jR, driving and nine in the AFC. Yes. So tell me about the offense for both of these teams. And really who do you think has the biggest advantage? But I still think it's the Red Sox the wildcard for me could be mad Kemp he won't be starting at D H. They have to of course, and us mad count in their order in the middle of the order behind Machado and in front of Brian dosier. They're using dosier as well. It's mad Kemp that kind of scares me on the Red Sox. He's the great unknown. He can hit the gaps. He can hit the ball over the played as well rested. He had a terrific first-half tailed off in the second half. He's the guy that when you put put all the chips down now Matt Kemp may pick him up. So he's a guy that scares me in the line. David freezes quietly under the radar. They have some weapons. No question. We all know what Justin Turner can do we've seen. What Chris Taylor can do. This is a very very good club. You've got a pitch to bell. And you're like I said they've got to keep the ball up. The bed is is make them swing at it. Get away from the uppercut swing. Yes. Of course is dangerous. But on the other side of the ball, Mookie Betts. You know, Mookie Betts when I saw him first off in the Arizona fall league. He was playing second base. He was far enough of the best athlete in the air that year. This guy makes things happen. Then he's followed by Benintendi. And granted he's a left-handed hitter. But he can smack the ball, and how do you pitch to JD? So I think these are very well balanced teams. But I think pitching and Fenway is going to be a little bit too much for the dodgers. And I think they're going to lose at Fenway, maybe two games. And then we'll see what happens from there. Yeah. I think it's huge. If you know, especially the the Red Sox hold serve then they can play around a little bit not play around. But having Mookie come in and not really be afraid of like he's going to cost us. Oh, no. Because when he was there this year and even in the past that you could play. Yes. So much range. We all know that. No question about it holiday. Would you like to pick up a Nathan? The scrapping. You know? How would you like to have a number three starter name Nathan Valdez control the ball a hundred miles an hour who the dodgers had at one point. And now he may win a game against you. I mean, there's so many corks to this when you can get a guy like a ball deep during the season as your number three starter. You know, I just love it. I love it for both teams Verney who's your who's the guy you worry about more at the back end. Is it kenley or kimbrel kimbrel against this team? By the way, one for thirty one guys that are on the in the lineup for the dodgers won for thirty one against him. Well, I would never ever say a bad word about kenley Jansen. Is on his game right now. He scares me. But the Red Sox may put these away before its time believe me, and if they can then kenley Jansen if they can't then kenley Jansen is to be reckoned with the guy is still great. I feel sorry for what he's dealing with. And I think he's gritty gutsy, but you know, kimbrough's no slouch either both. These bullpens are really really strong. These are these are two good teams. I don't think they're the best two teams. I think these are two good teams. What's your thoughts on Manny Machado? And just the way he's been pretty demoss postseason. I am old school my friends. It made me sick to my stomach to see what he did it at first base. Tasers secular. It makes me sick to my stomach to see him going into second day slake that and I think the thing that made me the sickest is when you say hustling is not my Cup of tea on a scout, my friends and the first thing that we fill in. There's three things can this guy play is he better than what we have. And number three. Can you play for us? And for me on my form. No he cannot play for us. There are teams that would love to have him though. Run to him. That's fine. You put that guy in the mid west or in some cities, you put them in San Francisco and watching my hustle watch. What happens for me? It's a way over the top. I didn't like it. I don't like it. And I think it's going to hurt him. I I. I think the one team that everyone talked about is the Phillies in him going to I'm calling because out here. He he killed. Yeah. Try this or New York or any other big market that he's projected to go. What do you think is agents said the reaction of his agent when he read those comments, please. You just saw it. You saw him hustle. You saw last game. He played hustling kept his mouth shut. But you know, what damage is done. He is not the type of guy that I think is gonna win you the pennant. I like us a scrapper much more. Yeah. You can knock the fence down. But you know, it's not all about him. You give me a Justin Turner any day of the week. I'll take that Bernie. I think I'm sorry. Go ahead. Why don't you finish your thought? Go ahead. I think in general this dodgers team is a little bit over the over the top for me. I think pointing to your muscles rounding, you know, your home run your home run trots a bit over the top for me. I was just curious on how fast that switch is flipped when you see a guy like minimum Chato acting this way because we see a pro sports, Bernie talent will usually Trump everything else. Yes it well. And that's why I said there are teams that are going to run to them they wanna badly and again for the clubs that I was with with the Houston Astros with the Seattle Mariners. I don't think we would have taken that type of demonstrative behavior. But the game has changed and you either love it or or get out of it and don't pay any attention. I happen to love it. But I don't have to like what I see from some players believe me ninety nine percent of these guys are much different. They're wonderful guys. And all it takes one guy to show off like that. And give other people a bad name. I didn't like it. I guess that clear. Hey, we got you a prediction with the Red Sox in either six or seven but tomorrow night who is your guy is it sale is occurs show. Or is it somebody else? No Kershaw gets game one. I think Kershaw is pitching very well. I worry about sale I worry about about the hospital the stomach. I don't know if he's less weight. I haven't seen him.

"I mean, I guess if they did work, it didn't work. When was it? Buehler? Was it? Who was it? Cody Bellinger. Who was over somebody did work in one. Nothing works one hundred percent of the time, but it works more often. Than it doesn't work. So they do it. Yeah, that that that's how it's going to be. It's going to be a situation where it baseball's going to have games that are played two to one over and over and over again. You're gonna have to. You'd have to sit a rule where you can only have x. amount of guys on one side of the field. Why? Why is it bother you? Because I want to see runs. It's not good look for the game. Okay, but. Okay, so changing the lineup card. Good. Look for the game. What does have to do the other it? Okay. You a baseball guy. Y'all supposedly for the for the grim Lynn's mounting wished hit. The gremlins would've had a team. I would've liked to play for the growth. This baseball, cold, all that sort of stuff. Everybody screams in hollers about that, but then they do this and it seems to be okay to one one is little move to try to win a game. The the the larger conversation is, do we want to watch baseball where no one's on base where no one can score run in less. You hit it over the fence the that's the conversation that needs to take that that'll happen down the road. What happens next is game six in Milwaukee against Wade Miley who's gonna start back to back games and the dodgers are in a great spot. They only need to win want it to. I would suggest very, very strongly. They take care of business tomorrow because you don't want to go into a one game situation with the kid. Pitcher gang seven is not in an ideal situation for the dodgers. They looking to get it over with and game six view be on the mound tomorrow in, like you say, they'll be going up against the pitcher that technically, if you wanna call it back to back, aren't great and game too. I mean, you know, Miley pitched really well in game two in and I'm sure they feel good about impeaching really well and game six. But the problem is our bats are alive now. That's that's believe there are a lot not home run stuff that you want the bats or live singles, stolen bases, advancing runners that's alive to me. It had week they'll do that again tomorrow night. They're going to do exactly what they've been doing in. They didn't change what they went about their approach. They still struck out twelve times in eight innings, twelve times in eight innings. Okay, that's a ton. And it wasn't that they were in their fuck out this same guys that have been striking out the whole time the same guys that struck out seventeen times the night before. What happened was, is Cody to hit a on the few times they did make contact. They happen to land in places where no one's standing. That was the only difference they didn't call them. Hit, but you're change their approach. They didn't change their approach. They went after the exact same way. The result was different, but the approach was exactly the same. How was approached the same a result because there were swing in the bats, the exact swim bat in order to get a hit. You gotta swing the bat. You can't stand up there and hold the bat. This. This is impossible. You're right? Yeah, Travis you and convince me. Yeah. Convince me I'm gonna get a hit by just standing up here. Do you gotta swing the bat, do favor just you don't have to say it for anybody. Listen, just wink. And let me know that you're kidding..

"AL CS tonight from Fenway Astros and Red Sox Boston could go with Chris sale. Houston's gonna counter with their ace and Justin Linda for manager AJ Hinch. He's a pitcher that transcends a lot of different generations. You know, he's he stood the test the time he stood the test of the evolution of the game. These have all as a pitcher himself with how he uses his pitches. What he believes in the future hall of Famer, he's he's someone that has done everything in the game from being, you know, big time pitcher in the postseason to his personal struggles. Where people were writing him off office is is nearly ending his career to to now being uncontested Burland. Owning a one point nine three ERA in his last eleven postseason appearances coverage coming up top of the hour on the ESPN app. Chubby Mendoza will have the call seven college football LSU and nineteen to three lead. Now on number two Georgia that game late in the third quarter. We send it back to Milwaukee started the seven what's he gonna lock sacri singleton here is Dan Schulman brick. Thank you, and it is three. Nothing brewers going chop seven. We promised you. Bob euchre, we will deliver. But it will be bottom. Half of this shinning, Mr. euchre has to tie up. Some loose ends over the brewers broadcast booth. He will join us at the bottom of the seller. Max Muncie is going to pinch hit for the dodgers. He'll David freeze with burns birds back around for Bill walkie at takes data the way for ball one. Muncie with a monster year for the dodgers came up with the as organization at some time with Oakland and fifteen and sixteen was at AAA with the dodgers last year. What oh pitches outside ball to. And then just exploded this year. As he hit thirty five home runs for the dodgers. Is twenty eight years old. Baylor university. The two oh is taking a low ball three. Dave Roberts talked to us. And he said, you know, maybe I'm biased towards college guys 'cause I went to college. But this guy's a little bit older. You know that heartbeats a little bit slower for him because he's been through some things before getting to the place that he's at right now. Here's the three. Oh, and it's in for a called strike three and one perhaps that maturity in order to sort of process the adversity that you've been thrown away that can make say want to call it the second half of his career better than the first half. JD Martinez is the guy to me that at a similar pack. Three one take all four and burns issues a leadoff walk here on the seventh. Dodgers looking for baserunners. They got one here down three to nothing. Now the guy coming up they want coming out Manny Machado, although he's grounded out twice today to four with a single at a Homer, and he drove in three in the last night's game. Cody bellinger's ondeck member he came on defensively couple of innings ago, so bellinger's and Matt camp spot. Moncey the game. We haven't seen Jack Peterson yet. But at some point we're going to. Dodgers just looking for any kind of offense right out going to hitch today both of them singles. I stand almost a wide one shock paralysis before it gets into foul territory in Iraq. I is Muncie. The I know the defense for grand all was not good yesterday. But I would imagine that proper to try to get his bat in here. Next time Barnes comes up by five spots away left sites is strong side to pitch to Machado swing and a foul off all in one. Jayme onto the American League championship series comes your way tonight. John shabby. Jessica Mendoza right here on ESPN radio. Game. First pitch. I believe is roughly two hours away. Also, watch it on TBS and what a pitching matchup Justin Verlander and Chris sale. I would have won the category Chatto burns now has the side. Sets. Pitch all the way. In a swing of all line to left field that'll drop for Basit laying it on bounces broad rounding second in that hustling back to second base is Muncie on the single by Machado and here come the dodgers Ryan broad from about five steps in front of the warning track. He throws behind the runner back in the second. That is an ill advised thrall. Luckily, max Muncie wasn't on his tell us because that's one of those as far away. You see that ball coming in second. You can keep going to third base. And Jeremy Jeffress saying he is now throwing in the bullpen guy. Who's got a lot of the ninth inning work late in the season for the brewers, but has not been at his best so far in October. Corporate burns got the last out of the six, but a walk in a single here in the seventh and our meeting on the mound. And this clearly to buy some time for the bullpen is Michael stock is I think he was the guy who initiated this conversation and Erik Kratz is going to join them. Cody Bellinger will be the batter. Since World Series where the Astros really kind of. Exposed him with the breaking ball hasn't seen. Success in the postseason to this point. But I still think he's very dangerous in this spot. And the dodgers are a team were talked about it last night as they almost bound that comeback, but their team that always feels like they're in the ball game. They hit a lot of home runs, regardless. That'd be really careful with Cody Bellinger, right here because once sewing held tied the ballgame forty five home runs during the season. He's over fifteen in the postseason so far this year. Meeting over burns, ready balance. You're ready Kratz ready? And the dodgers suddenly have the tying run at the plate with nobody out here. The seventh inning. Arsia the shortstop now moving more up the piddle more to his left about maybe four feet to the left of second base. Perez and Shaw deep on the right side of the infield for the burgers burns. The set avid first pitch to Belgium, swing it. A bullet into center field. That's a base Muncie is getting the wave around third. He'll come into score. But throw comes into second Machado stops there and Bellinger delivers with an RBI single. It's now the brewers three and the dodgers won. Short quick path to the baseball by balancer could easily thought big. But then he buried his head state down in through the swing returned it where it came from. And here comes correct council. So he had Jefferson burns not getting the job done here today, and he's not going to last very long Jeffers will come into the game here at the.

"Like we've got a time you're asked to get in there like don't just lightly jog. Oh, I'm coming in. I'm doing this sort of like what happened with the other day with wig. Everyone's just like just jogging in from the pen, you gotta either haul ass or you're not allowed to come in at all? It's what I'm saying. I like that she's bras are five seconds of five to fifteen seconds of, you know, pushing each other and then it evens out unless it's like a serious bro. I haven't been in. It's too serious of brawl yet in the big league. But what happened the other day where you in your involved that sky, try grabbing Puig and he's really strong. He got away from me real quick. So then I went right into the to scuffle of everything. There. What are people saying a lot of like that. A lot of pushing a lot of, you know, a lot of lot of cuss words. But like I said, at that point, the bullpens are in and we got got your teams right here, and then you're gonna push to one side and then eventually evens out. Just the stuff looks really silly what's going on in the bag brother. Brand new cookie bites. Okay, protein you can use some after forty yard dash, you know, okay, re recover, and it won't help me get faster and my hope get faster. Who knows? All right. Let me see these. This is a brand new protein packed snack option metrics cookie bites. Everybody. To the chocolate chip one is good. All right. Here we go. Cody Bellinger unzipping red metrics bag. I'm going to give you the chocolate chip kind. All right. That's what I'd like to have. Go and you got a car card in there too. It's a box cookie bites. You all? Gosh, I'm in. He's hungry over there. Yeah. All right. Here we go. I'm gonna I'm side. gonna go. Okay. Ready. I missed that, but that was a good strike though that the box on a I, it's shown the first pitch. There you go on the role hit, go, Mike, and get this one. I shouldn't be thrown out to the all star to packaging. There you go. Okay. Trial on. What do you like these? What do you like about these brother? All? There's a lot of protein in them. Healthy snacks on the go, oh my gosh. This is really good. It tastes to chocolate chip chocolate peanut butter. Yeah, these in the one hundred bars or they're all over our clubhouse there in my locker on their part of a lot of guys. Daily routine. Okay. Whether you're just after a workout, I eat one sometimes I don't like to eat a full meal before game too. So I'm not, you know, to to, I just to bar and I'm ready to go. Perfect usually right around now at this time of the show about half half way in like ninety minutes in, I'm like feeling a little bit. I need a bite..

"A lot of key guys went down early and we've just been trying to grind it out, but wants to time comes down and we need to start winning games like we do now. I think I think we're perfectly fine. And what happened last. That year that you're trying to replicate this year that you snapped out of it? How does that happen? It just you're playing every day you're, you're, you're grinding every single day at seven o'clock and sometimes seems just don't go your way we had. We've had plenty of opportunities with guys in base where if you inches outweigh or few inches, this way we get hit. I just wait a game. Go sometimes hit right out of people and no euro for whatever guys running and scorn position. But like I said without, I think we're gonna be perfectly fine. And is there a players only meeting that's happened or you're gonna have one we've had. We've meetings every day said it's never a lack of preparation for us where we prepare day like we did last year, get into the World Series. It's just a matter of doing the job. And you know, fortunately didn't do last series, but we scored twenty plus runs the series before that. So that's just the way baseball goes Cody Bellinger here on the rich Eisen show scale of one to ten with one being crazy and. Ten being really crazy. How crazy is y'all yelp week? Crazy. I'll give them. I'll give them a five and between crazy. And really he's awesome. Like in the clubhouse he's, he's, he's always supportive, but he likes his bat, you know, after a foul. What kind of crazy is. I don't know. You've never done that. I've never done that. Never. Have you ever kissed your bat? You ever done anything like that? I think I've honestly, I'm gonna kiss my bad for like a hit, but not after a foul ball, you know, licking the bad in front of forty thousand people. What about snapping it over your leg? Have you ever been able to do that now? Now, do you want to want to do a back? And I've done it like on on the side like can I actually do this? And I don't think I have a shot yet. So it's ever if it's ever cracked or were you know, in any way, shape or form broken, you can give it a world, do it down in the tunnel in case I don't snap on barest. I like it. Yeah, I like it until I know I can do is the shift is the shift in baseball, Cody Bellinger? Is it biased against left handed hitters? I think so. I think you can't put a guy in left center against a ride because if you hits they're still going to be a hit, you get hits because of the shift where they would have been. But. Oftentimes not, you're gonna get a hit taken away, you know, part of the game now, unfortunately. But I think it's definitely disadvantage for lefties. Would you bunt if you get shifted a enough, would you, you can bond all the time, but now the third basements right there, so you can't even bun anymore or for the most part, but I can't buy. Nobody comes to the game to watch you bunt no chance. It's what I'm saying. But sometimes you need hit. You know, you're going to bunt so base. If you could change anything in major league baseball, what would it be. I would like to have the mount scooted back, but that's never gonna happen. What do you mean? Because I want those like ninety five. You know with the really good curve ball, that's just me being a hitter. You know? So sixty four time to react sixty two feet sixty three feet. So normal sixty feet six inches, sir. Yeah, that'll never happen, but that'd be. That'd be nice part of, you know what I would change. What would you change? What I would change is if there is a scuffle on the field. Okay. Nobody's allowed to lightly jog in from the bullpen. You're not allowed coming from the Bolton. You can't come in. You gotta be on a full sprint. Here's what I will do. I will walk before I run figuratively. I will say you must be full sprinting..
