"They gave Robert Quinn 70 million additives. Okay, the Bears offensive line, we all know needed help so they went on and got Germain ifedi for league minimum. So now now we're not very confused why the Bears all kind is not plain great football game right now, right and it's just even when I when I used to play for the Bears for years people would ask me that question what's wrong with the Bears offensive line and and trying to be a good teammate, I wouldn't say a word but my what I wanted to say, I have you looked at the draft pick since we got here right? Have you have you looked at who we've signed? I remembered 2009 the offensive line was terrible and and I had a conversation with some of the month. We gotta we really need to improve our offense right? We're going to get get color killed here. And so what they did is around the side Julius Peppers, they put another Hall of Famer on a defense of Brian Urlacher and in the club. Discontinue the next year why is your offensive line so bad and I just keep looking at the people would ask the question that they man. I mean, all you have to do is look at draft picks and look at who we sign is free agent and you figure out why we don't play very often decided the line. Yeah, they're buying Toyota's on the offensive line and Porsches on defense. So it's a little it's a little different. Sorry about that chase of go ahead with the exception of the offensive line. Which what other unit on the entire team. Do you think needs improve the most in order for the Bears to validate their their Good Start? You know, what I what I'd like to see an improvement on is David Montgomery just or somebody. I don't know who they'll get artavis Pierce or or Cordarrelle Patterson or so. You know, what I'm getting to is when when all Chris lines does give me your whole you have to hit it right and and here's a problem with David Montgomery, even if you know, I love the way he played he's not going to break two or three tackles and go to the house. So the birth Are missing that kind of player. I'd like to see them improve their with their running game and their offensive line working together. Cuz look at here's the here's the honest truth about the Bears to be honest with you. I'm an expert on it. There's not a lot of talent there and they have to they have to get in a room somewhere and they have to admit that to themselves. So when you don't have to have a lot of talent you you have to be all in by that I mean, you have to contract your details, you have to give maximum effort on every play. You have to be better than the sum of your cock. So when you asked me where they have to approve by position-wise, what they have to do is they have to improve all eleven guys have to be a well-oiled machine artists authors really doesn't have a chance so they have to go in every time thinking this is a gang fight. It's also 11:00 working together to pull this boat on a field do everything right. For example. You cannot on 34 come across the middle and a crossroad like Miller did and then run backwards you can do that. Okay, the offensive line has to be able to recognize run flip pick em up and give their running back or Kris and only way you pick a run place up is you all work together really really? Well. What do you think it's going to take because clearly no matter how many times you win like, you said earlier like all the matters at the end of the day just wait in the Bears have done that so

"Voters in Switzerland have vetoed a proposal. Toe end freedom of movement within the European Union. Joanna Cock ICIS reports, a right wing Nationalist party promoted the referendum to limit immigration. The Swiss Public Broadcasting Network reports that more than 60% of voters rejected the proposal to scrap the free movement agreement. Switzerland is not an EU member state and relies on this agreement for trade, transportation and education partnerships within Europe. The anti immigrant. Swiss People's Party, the largest in parliament, pushed for the referendum. The party's leaders used the same slogans as pro Brexit politicians, claiming most migrants are dangerous and likely to go on welfare. As well as take jobs. But opponents argue that striking down the agreement would hurt the economy and strips with citizens of their freedom to live and work in other parts of Europe. For NPR news, I'm Joanna Cock icis.

Not. Louis Luster minds threatening interesting though that you've gone from someone he. COMES SUPER SUPER QUICKLY? To performing where you literally have to edge yourself so much dot com for ages for our. House did you like learn how to do that? I wish I knew there isn't like I guys asked me out all the time. They're like, hell how do you? Withstand I tell them listen Bro I'm ready to pop in the first position. I can within seconds. Yeah. I've also had days where I did pop too soon. Yeah and. received an ear full from the director. And that I wasn't able to. Either get. Fully hard again or or com again. Thought. Once again, once you have that experience. You're like, okay. I'm never. Happen again we. So you find little tips and tricks. One tip that I think everyone can benefit from. Is as a guy if you're having sex with with your partner and you feel like you're gonNA come, here's an idea pull out, go down on them for a while. Going down on your partner during sex. I find is more enjoyable than just doing like oral sex intercourse. Yet yeah go go back. Yeah I love that and that's Mushonga longer. Yeah and it's just more you know spontaneous. As the same with edging that we took about. Edging is practicing. to hold your calm like you would do holding your P. it's like you're literally when you edge will take you dick to the gym and is getting stronger. I tell you what I can edge for hours. Edging is, the Orgasm is almost secondary. For me because. I. Don't I don't know for you to when I orgasm I'm pretty much done. It's I can't. do it immediately I. think that's a real unfortunate floor that mad men have is that not many man can keep going because I'm fad like women if you you can train yourself to but it takes training is like a school you have to teach your body but the edging portion is the most fun. Yeah. I would often do that before scenes to. A keep your mind on on the right track, and also it helps compound the orgasm. So the pop shot as we call it is the pop shot is enormous. You want it to be as. A. Yeah. The bigger, the better, the further, the come show butter that Shit. It's the final exclamation point to everything that led up to that point. So it better be worth. It pays well as a yeah. Otherwise it's it's like anti climactic what I mean it shouldn't be because all come is great com. Yeah in harmony but as a performer as someone in. Movies. Trump on ABC News town hall: We will protect coverage for preexisting conditions

"Going to Pennsylvania yesterday for a town hall last night on ABC with Bill Clinton's former communications director, George Stephanopoulos. How did it go? Well, here's an interesting moment. A woman asking a question of the president of the United States gets testy with the president for attempting to answer it. Listen to this. Questions on health care comes from the block. She's from Philadelphia and assistant professor who voted for Hillary Clinton. Last time, Mr President. I was born with a disease called sarcoidosis, and from the day I was born, I was considered uninsurable. That disease started in my skin moved to my eyes into my optic nerves. And when I went to graduate school into my brain when it hit my brain, I was automatically eligible for disability. For the rest of my life. I chose instead to get a bachelor's degree a master's degree a PhD and become a professor. It is great. Except I still have similar health care problems. It cost me with copays. I'm still paying almost $7000 a year in addition to the co pay and should pre existing conditions which Obama care brought into brought to fruition be removed. No with that. Please stop and let me finish my questions there. Wow should then be removed within a 36 to 72 hour period without Medication. I will be dead and I want to know what it is that you're going to do to assure that people like me who work hard we do. Everything we're supposed to do can stay insured. It's not my fault that I was born with this disease is not my fault that I'm a black woman and then the medical community. I'm minimized and not taken seriously. I want to know what you are going to do about that. How about a cocked fist? Basically, I mean, it listened to her. Asked that question he tries to even gently answer it, she said. You stop. Let me finish my questions because it's because she's black and he's white. So he's racist. And so she's confronting the man was. I heard that and I thought that that was so rude and I got tired of and she was just one of several who are like because they're black. It's different for them, you know, and I thought President Trump kept his cool the whole time, and she said, I pay $7000 a year in premiums. I'm like I want your insurance plan because that's far less than mine. You know, she's paying less than I'm paying. And you know she's going to take much more out of the system. Then I dio and I'm pretty sure she doesn't understand how a socialist system works like that. Her brain is filled with all sorts of new media manipulation. I mean, it's just like it's kind of interesting to hear her talk. It's like it's like she's regurgitating a CNN segment. We'll glide. The questions were written down, and I wonder when these people asked these questions if they're written for them or if they've been coached in anyway, because there were several of familiar themes that ran through the questions. It wouldn't be the first time that political activists were either involved or made their way into event like this. The Stephanopoulos did say at the beginning that these were their own questions. These questions were written by these individuals and by the way, we totally appropriate for ABC to check on what the actual question is, from a question or prior to the production of this event, because you create a natural flow of topics that way so you can go to somebody who actually has a question that's relevant, something that was just asked. But you know, it's good to be skeptical, definitely, especially in an environment where Bill Clinton's former communications director is the moderator. That does seem like a good idea. Trump was calm in his answer Here listen to the way he talked about pre existing Titian's So first of all, I hope you are taken seriously. I hope you are and we are not going to hurt anything having to do with pre existing conditions were not going to hurt preexisting conditions, and in fact, just the opposite. If you look at what they want to do, where they have socialized medicine, they will get rid of pre existing conditions. If they go into Medicare for all, which is socialized medicine, and you can forget about your doctors and your plans, just like you could forget under President Obama. Said. You can have your doctor. You can have your plan and that turned out to be alive and instead of 28 different times, at least we have 28 different times. You can have your doctor. You can have your plan. Well, it's not true, but what we're doing is we're going to be doing a health care plan pre existing protecting people with preexisting conditions as an example yourself. It sounds like that's exactly perfect. That's exactly what we're talking about. Yeah, Okay, so and he and he hit that again, like look, any plan I come up with any plan we're gonna work on will replace Obamacare, especially the issues of pre existing conditions. I want to protect him. He's been

Chicago OKs affordable housing protections near Obama library

"City Council has given the green light to a compromise that aims to keep people living near the planned Obama presidential center from being displaced by gentrification. This has been a long time coming, but I think that it is the right direction to go. Fifth Ward Alderman Leslie Hairston was one of those who pushed hard for the agreement. It sets requirements for affordable housing in new developments around the plant. Obama Center city also will help fund affordable housing program's her counsel colleague, Jeanette Taylor, of the 20th. Ward acknowledges there was some tough battles and tough talk. But she praised Housing Commissioner Marissa Novara and planning Commissioner Maurice Cocks. The fight is not over. We got a little mole. Working it out and fighting to do, But this is definitely a step in the right direction. I'm proud of us doing what Chicago does make It works for everybody. Mayor Lightfoot seems justice pleased. This has been a robust on DH challenging process, but I agree with both of you that we've gotten to the right place. Backers hope this will be a model for other areas of the city. Craig

I say it's not entirely certain how granular Powell's when it's the speech with regards to the results of the ventilation study. I say there is a growing consensus central bank may be leaning towards a policy that allows inflation to move past 2% goal to make up for years of undershooting that target And if we look at the fence favorite measure of inflation Corp you see, that's about one per cent over the past 10 years or so. Texas Projects Nearly $5B Budget Shortfall Due to Pandemic

"The Corona virus pandemic has turned a multibillion dollar surplus into an estimated $4.6 billion budget shortfall in Texas that word today from state Comptroller Glenn Hager. Sam. You economists, Mike Davis says the numbers air no surprise, but they're still stunning. No unexpected at all. But just when you see them laid out like this, it just it just takes your breath away. Just how devastating this this mess has become. Is it the oil industry or is a combination of everything that's been hit in Texas TER In this pandemic, It's everything. The oil industry is then the drop in prices and hence, the drop in state revenues is big. But sales tax revenues are down by almost 10% to again. That's not surprising, but it's just How are we going to cope with this? We'll have figured out, but it's gonna be tough. Is it possible that these numbers could improve by the time lawmakers go backto Austin in January? Because the controller did say today, these numbers are very much in flux. Yeah, sure they could improve, But I think we have to remember that. You know, Hope is not a plan. It could turn out better than we want. But we absolutely can't plan on, you know a miracle vaccine or treatment. And then the economy just all springs back. We have to plan on to be realistic about this. Where do they start to tackle a multi $1,000,000,000 deficit if the's numbers remained relatively stable, going into early next year? Well, It's just a lot of fighting down in the trenches. Tio cut spending here and cut spending there. I mean, like any organization and remember the state spends well over $100 billion. You, Khun, There are places to cut things to dio. But you know, you gotta figure out what the raid places that got R and there's nothing for it. But the look at line by line does this bring up any talk about the potential of a state income tax? Or is that a nonstarter for too many? I don't know about the politics of that. I do know a bit about the economics and with the state in as much trouble as it is, we have to remember that those other states that are dependent upon an income tax have been losing to Texas for a very long time. So we do have an advantage huge advantage compared to places like California, which does have a substantial income tax, and I'm not sure now would be a good time to give up that advantage. And finally Mike, how much is in the States so called Rainy Day fund and do officials and lawmakers look at least tapping some of that to cover this deficit? You know, I don't have that number in front of me. I don't It's clearly not enough to make up this entire deficit. Even if you wanted to run that fund down to zero, But yeah, we do have a rainy day fund and it is there for a reason. And this is This isn't just a rainy day fund. This is Noah's flood. In today's episode you're going to discover a meditation technique to help. You feel grounded. That probably sounds pretty good now because we are living in such uncertain times, so in today's episode, you will. Feel a little safer and you also feel a little more stillness. As you do your meditation. So when you think about feeling safe. You often. May Remember Times in your life when you felt as though. Someone was watching over you or you were secure with a job or with a relationship. You had food shelter. Clothing and lots of love in your life. These are things that make us feel safe. Win. There's a lot of uncertainty even though you may still have. The requirements for feeling safe. You can feel exposed and vulnerable. So the emotions that settle within in you. That make you feel unsteady and uncertain. Are harbored in your first Chuck Gra. Your First Chakra is located right at your cock six or the very base of your spine. And the parts of your body that help you to feel connected to the ground as you walk your legs and your feet, and your hips as you sit. These are the parts of the body that are impacted when you feel unsafe, you can feel stuck like you can't move. Many people often have nightmares when they don't feel safe where they feel like they're running, but they're not getting anywhere. The parts of the body that normally ground US and carry us through life. Are Feeling as though they're unsupported. So, we knew focus on your first Chakra. The. Element is the earth. And you could visualize the earth supporting you. The Earth beneath your feet. Or the ground beneath you as you said. You could also visualize the color red. This is the color of your first Chaka and this is a color. That's strong. It anchors you. And asks you consider. Emotions that make you feel fearful or afraid. Know that when you focus on feeling more grounded, you're likely to remember. Those people those places and those times in your life when you did feel safe and grounded. Those qualities are they're within you, and as you settle yourself down and tap into as sense of safety and peace I. Invite you to visualize being with someone. In some place where you feel safe. As I record this series. There's a thunderstorm outside and I can hear the rain falling. I live in Florida so usually in the afternoons, especially in the summer. We get some pretty fierce thunderstorms. And these storms make me feel safe. And I realized that. I feel safe in thunderstorm. My dog often his really afraid and jumps on me during the thunderstorm for protection, but I feel safe because when. I was a little girl. We often win camping and we had a camper or tent and when it would rain. It would be so comforting to be inside, cozy and warm with my family and I remember. My mom would always make something hot to drink hot chocolate or hot tea, or a little snack or dessert something that would kind of perk us up that we could enjoy. During the storm

"And so they stay with me. It's a little bit of work. But if you don't want to ever do this, then we want to do it The right way. Okay, So we're gonna we're gonna cut. We're going to use the utility knife and we're gonna cut all that out and we're going to use there's a little hand tool that you can buy if it's actually grout because That connection point between the tile in the base should be Talking, not grout. Because when you're standing in the shower, it moves a little bit, You know, from your weight, and so you need a little bit of flexibility. You you, You don't want it to be so rigid. If it's grout that's causing this issue with the mildew on mold down there. Now we're going to cut all that out. Then the trick that I tell people is, if you have a small fan or a box fan, you're going toe with shower curtain or door open. You're going to leave that fan on there for a few hours because we need to get it really dry. As if we trap moisture behind it. When you go to re caulk it, the work is for nothing. The cocking that I want you to buy is called cleans. C l E A N Z. C L E, A and Z if they ever did AH, Home Improvement Spelling Bee I'd come in third place. Okay, so this product cleans. It is a brand new caulking came out maybe about 18 months ago and this company and becomes in white and almond, and they put an enzyme in it. That will not allow mildew and mold to grow. So you're going to put this on there? You're going to let that dry. Do you have another bathroom that you can use while this dries overnight? I have I have Ah, bathtub bathtub so you can take that You could do it a long soak in the tub while you wait for this to work. And you're gonna let that dry and then? I mean, you still got a clean your shower regularly, right? I love that went forget shower product. I mean, that's a once a week. Deal right at the top. Squirt, squirt, squirt. You walk away and I think that it's just fun to clean your shower in your bathroom when you're naked. It's just thinking. Yeah, right. Look, she's right there with you. Yeah, So anyway, do this and you'll solve the problem. What kind of knife do I use again? Are you telling a utility knife to cut out the cocking A Sharpie Children and be very careful was a chirp. And then there's a little there's a little Grout. If there's a little grout underneath there, there's a little ground removal tool almost looks like Almost looks like a toothbrush, but it's got little stones on it and you use that by hand. Scrape it out. I needed least an eighth of an inch, if not 1/4 of an inch of depth. So that I can get that talking to dig in. Hold on when you squirt, you know, when you when you squirt it on, they make it in both a cock tube that you get a cocked gun or a squeeze too, depending on how much area you have maybe a squeezed tubes enough. You put it on there, and then you use your finger and you tool. It's smooth. You want to get a nice, smooth finish with your finger and then walk away and let it dry overnight. Great, Okay. Okay. Thank you so much. You've got it. I appreciate you calling this morning. 8772134 Lou. 8772134568 is our number. Let me tell you about wet and forget if you we were just talking about the shower, but they also make this amazing product for outside If you have moss, mold, mildew or algae growing and hard to reach places, you know like roofs. Second story siding or even your awnings..

"No S. A. S. H. C. O. and they make a they make this amazing clear cocking but they also make that same product in a jar it's almost like you know what you know what cetaphil is it's like a hand cream that's a really good hand cream that comes in a container you can take you take the top off and you can scoop with your fingers and put it on your hands it's a really good hand cream it's a container like that okay and you're gonna take that with literally like you know would work well on that with the nails is take a small spoon not a plastic spoon because you break if you're up on the roof get you can clean the spoon take a metal spoon up there and scoop it out and pour it into this hole and it's clear so the beauty part of it is you know if you want like a black tar to your point of look you know ridiculous because all of a sudden you're smudging it all over there from the ground you don't see it if you do this clear to fill it it'll blend in with the rest of the shingles and this stuff stays super flexible and it's designed to be used on a roof and it should see all those holes no problem and this is a huge product it is an ace product okay quality to fill no no no no call it something else cetaphil is the hand cream this is called CSL sash co clear cocking they make it in a tube and you could use the tool they have to be like a squeeze tube like you're decorating a cake but it's a really really good high quality clear caulking the company out of Denver Colorado and they make really good stuff okay yeah I was considering pouring something in there impossibly finding in the vast array of hardware available over at ace maybe some of those plastic plugs like fender plugs or something in the end up pushing into the end of the night yeah I might be visible from the the single yeah you might do that but I think you'll find that the holes are smaller than you think it's not going to be this gaping hole you know they probably use like a quarter inch lag bolt or something like that they may even use screws and I think that the clearer of the sash go as crazy as it sounds when it once it cures it sort of blends in better because it picks up the imagery of everything around it and that's kind of the that's the secret sauce when it comes to clear caulking to use on situations like that and again in a perfect world she's got a couple shingles left over that you could put up you know you could remove some put in there but if not this is a good solution for you okay well that'll work all right I'll take that in consideration and wait till this weather warms up a little bit before I decide to do that and be careful be safe out there I appreciate you calling in listening to WGN radio you know quick comment obviously is a small business owner I am I am super sat about all the businesses that are close right now and I know that on this radio station particulars I've been listening of many of the hosts have been talking about different restaurants you can order from we're gonna be doing that as well I've seen some very inventive ways that restaurants are trying to tell people they can call in order we got to keep these people in business and whatever we can do to help them I would really be helpful for the businesses that are open are the ones that during this stayed home order are deemed essential I know that there's gonna be a lot of reduced hours and a lot of these different stores and so I highly recommend that if you're going to a store I've talked to friends of mine own grocery and hardware and other places like that call ahead so you know because there's gonna be a lot of reduced hours and if you are gonna well we should be limiting when we go outside and leave home but when we do that let's make sure that it is literally point a to point B. there's a great Brady bunch episode where you know Greg is going out to do something and his father says remember the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.

"It's seen cocking Kelly we go straight to the TDK technologies gas line where we're joined by Dr Russell how he can he's a psychotherapist daca will tell us what your credentials are because I've you've got all these letters behind them others you know call me family therapist let's just make it make it simple I have a PhD in lots of other degrees but at the end of the day I just wanna help families function better awesome Hey doc so many people are misinformed as it relates to corona virus and maybe not to their own fault I mean it wasn't until a week ago that the president was telling us that this was going away we're going to be a big deal lots of news outlets were saying something similar boy the tone his switch now yet we have a lot of people who are saying I don't believe it I think this is all political I think this is all nonsense how do you get this through particularly to older Americans that no no no no this is the real deal you know an older Americans are tough because you know they've been through all kinds of things sars Hong Kong with swine flu yeah poor economic times good economic times include challenging population it's even more challenging for you know my generation to try and parent senior the senior generation I think you have to shift the way you speak to them and know that your parents are going to look at you it's still Kyle you maybe thirty forty fifty years old they're looking at you like you're crafty hello it's hard task right because when they're misinforming you're saying no mom I can't come to see you know Graham all we can't bring the kids over because they can in fact get you sick what what are some tips and some tools we can use to to kind of cut through whatever's been built up in their mind well first I think you need to stop pointing sort of the verbal finger at your parents and say you shouldn't do this you shouldn't have the grandkids over you should stay home or creamy Q. I. statement I am very worried to go out that cricket and then switch it to question so you know what to talk about some ideas about maybe how we can't see the grandchildren without you getting sick do you have any ideas then hopefully they ask you for those ideas and that's when we start the Skype and facetime calls really about treating them with kindness humanity and respect the men to better idea we're visiting with Dr Russell hi Kenny is a F. psychotherapist in town he does family counseling and he's written a piece about how to communicate the seriousness of the corona virus to your parents I got a kick Dr hi can you finally found the magic trigger in dealing with your own mother so what what we hope you know it's it's interesting because most of my work actually focuses on adolescents but I have parents that we're going through all the things that I really found myself I kept talking to my kids you know got it don't come out with sort of the inspiration behind talking about this idea so yeah so it it's it's a whole game all of us and we have to treat our parents a little bit differently indeed we do and then you know let's put the shoe on the other end of the age spectrum kids they've not been through anything like this even remotely like this that being locked in at home and not being able to have play days with their friends and so forth this is quite dramatic on the on the younger folks as well it really is and and you know different agencies have different effects I think you know the Littler ones you know when you're talking that sort of pre adolescent those younger is as you know early elementary school kids so why do you fear because they're happy a mobbed up playing with them so if you can keep a good attitude up yeah I I think those kids are not really going to feel it as much as our teenagers and what's interesting with the teenagers I'm seeing a lot of high functioning help because there are starting to present with symptoms of depression anxiety that twenty normalize that for those kids in those families and I'm working on it saying you know this is typical like if you weren't a little depressed and anxious right now I'd be really worried about you so sort of normalizing those feelings without population but then also trying to reframe how can you take advantage of the situation you know what is going on in your life this is something fine is it something you know do you want to get a jump on school work yeah college applications use it's pretty much over so that's there you know would start talking to them about how to use the time productively nine never thought I would say this woman said you know my gosh I can't think having a you know an X. box in the house right now let your kids play video games but monetary you know they shouldn't be up until two three in the morning playing games right now it is a social outlet and I'm here to explain you know we haven't played in awhile so no time then brace and things that we didn't think we're so help you forget where you go and so you've got to you got the whole health crisis going on out there but the other end of this thing is people are losing jobs they're losing incomes are losing their investments or retirement their college savings you talk about anxiety and fear and depression there's a whole people going through that out here there really is and so you know so hopefully you have somebody that you can lean on the support of and start looking for ways to decrease your spending which I think is is easy right now because it's not much to spend on really weary of online shopping I am getting inundated in my inbox with unbelievable sales that are rather tempting you to stay away from those that just because you know things are cheap doesn't mean you should buy I think it's sort of magic but the other thing with your kids is trying to keep it away from them for now things are shifting naturally we're not spending as much money because we can't but don't overburden your kids at that right now to add on to the anxiety what's what this play out a little bit longer before we start addressing it as a family unit no doubt about it that family is too many of us is the the most rewarding family R. as friendships that we have in the people that we spend time with but family dynamics can also be hard a lot of people may be going through different things in their life and now you're locked in a house together for a week straight two weeks straight twenty four seven are there things that people should be doing to refresh themselves and to avoid conflict as a family yes it's sort of signing everybody in the family you know when I say a task I don't mean like you don't go clean the basement although that certainly can be one but I think a really nice thing to do is make I don't care how old the child is immediate help what to be responsible for dinner you know like it have a rotating schedule make it a contest it's trying out do you know of a child or the adult the cooked the night before I think it's a fun way because to to bond a family but you know kids are going on to the internet searching for doable recipes to doing things like that I saw a few stories that this puzzle company in Saint Louis itself because it's a business is through the roof what a great time to just throw puzzle on the dining room table not for sure kids to participate but just put it out there can you be surprised by not asking them you know it is a puzzle if you wanna help out you know what it's on the table don't force things but offer them alternatives it engages a family give them some responsibility and you know hopefully we'll get through this quickly so I'm a single guy so I I kind of like being by myself but I have to admit after we could be in the house I kind of miss seeing people so we've organized face times and other things to talk as a family maybe it's time to pull out that neighborhood rolodex and check on some of the neighbors that are older widowed that that haven't been checked on it's a perfect time also to reach out you know through social media too somebody haven't talked in awhile you know just because we're all doing it right now you know if you you know before they were the barriers of all my gosh I haven't talked to such and such and for five years that would be weird just pick up the phone and call or send an email or text or reach out to something everybody's doing it right now because we'll sit at home looking for things to do so we can do all those old relationships really great thoughts I want to thank you doctor Russell hi can for joining us today and helping all of us get to where it is going to be one of the most historically significant periods that we've ever lived so thank you so much thanks for having me and if you just Google also hike in the fire you need to talk further about how you can find me on the internet just by name all popped right up on top fantastic thanks so much and that be safe out there thank you very much for the time you tip the curse to me that it occurs to me John that are there are few things is constant in Saint Louis and lives this came wax and what is can watch without Kevin Kling well we'll do it wouldn't be as rich let's put it that way and we will do our leaders thanks to Alaska has done with it quickly Hey is this just in from the home office of I love this guy John Hancock I assigned you the task of making dinner tonight well there is way to go doc I think I bought some pizza I like pictures of that "Cocking Kelly in for Charlie and Amy as we are every Friday we're back together again this first time in a few weeks and you know they were mocking us last week they were saying that we were Hancock or kill that's what Amy mark scores was trying to foist on the listening on insurance but we're we're here together how was your little get away was awesome wonderful but we celebrate nothing no longer just getting away with the Georgian and I we don't do that very often and now the kids are finally gone was kind of nice to get away Hey if you're out there driving on the road to be extremely careful it's slick coming in today a couple of icy patches if you're going north toward Chicago will be especially slick I have some of my family members on the road right now had not there yeah well I was when I got back I was greeted with some very sad news the passing of George Herbert Burt Walker a great Saint Louis and he was the CEO of Stiefel Nicholas very philanthropic in the in the community especially at Webster university where the business school bears his name he's a he was the ambassador US ambassador to hungry during the George W. bush administration his cousin Robert Walker very active in trying to reform governance in Saint Louis for many many years just a great Saint Louis on from a great family and and a great great man I echo those sentiments obviously was a Republican but one of the finest people on you in Saint Louis and cared about Saint Louis a lot of their in early these he and his cousin of the other Bucky bushy bush both were committed to Saint Louis both gone yeah both gone and in very very very said the bird Walker had the gift of encouragement he he was one of the most encouraging people I'd ever met in my life and you couldn't come away from a conversation with her Walker without feeling better about yourself and about circumstances they've just a great guy and joining us to reminisce about the life and legacy of Burt Walker is the chancellor of Webster university Beth Strobel joins us bath welcome to cable access well thank you very much and I echoed the words you've already used for a long time been a factor in toner and leader at Webster and I'm grateful to have the time to talk with you this morning he served many many years on the board of directors there how did he come to get involved in Webster university well I believe that the way he became involved was in nineteen seventy four when he first joined the board as member of the trustees and that was a pivotal moment in Webster universities progress and development the president then of the university which leisure dean another great Saint Louis St and Webster had made the transition in the mid nineteen sixties from being a Catholic women's college to being independent and co ed and began to make the important steps that we now know about Webster serving to downtown in a campus going on military bases starting our first international campuses and leisure dean and sandy Zimmerman who was the chair of the board recruited distinguished local business people and Saint Louis to help pass the vision for the new Webster university and he stuck with it as a member of our trustees until twenty sixteen what I knew about Burt was whatever he was in he was all in in every single way yes so true and and leisure name and bird had a very special relationship between the two they both of both felt very highly of one another and you mentioned the the international as aspect of this university it really is stunning what's happened well it all began in those early years nineteen seventy four that's when the military service began it's when the global mission developed with the first campus starting soon after in nineteen seventy eight and two neighbors Switzerland hi and of course the downtown campus and we're still downtown in the arcade building so so many pieces that were put in place as strategy and vision for what Webster could be he was part of that and not only was he a leader and a partner with university leadership in casting decisions he was our most generous benefactor and donor to date yeah that's the the amount of money that day he gave that I read was at ten million dollars to add significantly an apple and a large this gift we've ever received and yes ten million dollar gift is the largest single gift and he was generous throughout all those forty plus years to a variety of things not only the school of business and technology which is he say bears his name but the leisure dean college of fine arts he supported scholarship programs study abroad he was a champion of anything that would benefit a Webster street in well it's a great university my business partner is a graduate my life partner my wife is a graduate of Webster university and that has had a profound effect on on this town and Burt Walker had a profound effect on it and Beth Strobel thank you so much for joining us this morning to talk a little bit about the legacy of George Herbert Walker thank you it's an honor to get to talk about such a distinguished man all right Michael a you've got to no Burt Walker through I guess the reform efforts in in that he was bringing for the city of Saint Louis yeah I actually met him through my father he was a guy who was committed to workers and you know in his place and Stiefel was helpful and then of course he probably was the single largest force behind the fact that the current system of government that we have the city Saint Louis being its own county inside the state of Missouri the hundred or so meanness of polities that exist in Saint Louis county were holding us back not a popular position for a lot of Republicans to say Hey we need to create a bigger government but he was doing it because it was the right thing and and didn't need to I mean runs a guided financially you know obviously very well off and they could have just run around the globe and traveled and enjoyed the grand children but he never stopped giving back to the community a right up till the very end I I was with birds last fall and in the van is not he was not doing well and you know having difficulty getting around and so forth Burke was eighty eight years old which I was a little surprised that he he was that elderly he was a man of means buddy chill prevents by himself even when he was towards the end morning was having trouble walking and stuff I'd seen come into one of them to Mister Walker who brought you up by myself yeah you know I mean the guy just loses a normal normal man very much so now he he spent a lot of his summers in Kennebunkport he did and was close to the former president and then obviously is nephew who was the president well his wife's family so Carol Walker his wife and her family owned of the colony hotel which is a big landmark right there in Kennebunkport so she was connected to that town as well and they did they had a they have a home there had a home there and they would spend large swaths of the of the summer in Kennebunkport and George and I got up there on a few occasions beautiful part of the country and Walker's point if you ever get a chance to to take it in is just a spectacular property I the number of homes on Walker's point may give the kids all right Vienna Debbie is got a place there in jobs got a place there Neil bush as a place there Justin and the fabulous grounds and and I remember going in but the bush invited us in and and gave us a little tour around the property and barber was coming back from the veterinarian veterinarian with the two dogs brought our own car yeah I know she had a driver but him it was and then at that time President Bush George H. W. bush she was wheelchair bound at that point and and he was out rolling around the grounds and I don't know just a wonderful family great contributors to the world but certainly the Saint Louis connection the Walker family was a Saint Louis family and Dorothy Walker who is the mother of president George Herbert Walker bush was a St Louis and George Herbert Walker who had the G. H. Walker company an investment company that that Burke Walker whose of third generation it was James Walker the third he worked for JH Walker company before going to stay for my class and it's just the the legacy of that family in this community is huge asset departure for Saint Louis you know a throw back if you will Bert Walker and Bucky bush in the whole bush family yeah they were now he and I ate shared a shared a thing in common we both lost an election in nineteen ninety two he yeah he ran for Congress I ran for secretary of state we would commiserate about that but just a great fellow and and I'm gonna miss him dearly absolutely well for him one respected across the aisle Republican the one who's not really respected across the aisle that be the present the United States.

"Let's leave that Okay David. I can't thank you enough for putting your cocking up. That's the different texts. That was something else. I cannot thank you enough for the car. You are beyond generous but more than that you have taught me so much about life. It is humbling that comes from someone so much younger younger than me but I am so grateful that such a friend a leader and brother nephew in my life you've made lives for so many people most importantly mean my to knowing kids who can't react on campus ain't fucking kids can't react on shit. We showed them. The car are and they were not excited. I thank God every day for what you've done for us. There are no words from the depths of Hell from which you brought me. Well wish I had said this before. You bought me a hundred thousand dollars but I will always be here for you until the time make sure you read this out loud Jeff Natalie to see if it makes jeff tear up I love you. I'll be back Saturday night. Let's shoot Jason. GET IT MAKES JEFF to Europe. No He's don't holding it. Actually didn't make us made us pretty emotional it was it was a really nice day. What happened after in the car? If you read it read allowed I read it out loud and then we talked about you say I was like you know he's he's a good guy and trying to defend you because Jeff came at you right away and they were just like you know he's using you right and I was like no guys. He's not. No you know. I don't know what happened. I think came on my show turned up dancing queen share rather than have a real emotional moment. No that was really sweet. I love that that's my favorite part about like gifting someone. Anything is the a text I get afterwards. I don't know I've said this before but it's like my favorite. You have another one you could read Alex. I would love to hear Alex's Alex Ernst. Yeah okay this is from after I got Alex Tesla. This is so interesting he goes. He goes superchargers Free Texas from Alex but that's really funny. No those are those are my favorites getting getting those types because those I mean the most because it's like yeah that's. It's like the private moment. I'm always so bad at like like when I give someone like a car or something. I'd never know how to react myself like. I'm always so awkward because they're like thank you thank. You and I'm like <hes>. I'm always just like sitting like I don't know I don't know how to react jealous an awkward thing to do and then I thought it was funny how soon I went from. No no no no no. I can't take this like I've fucking car did you did they go Natalie Barr my car a couple of days later. I was like where's my car. Did you expect me to surprise you with a Tesla or did you expect me to surprise through the car. No come on swear on my kids dead ass one hundred percent with all my truth in my heart looking deep into your soul until you feel so awkward you off this point. You've never you've never I would never expect I I would never no one. No one sits there and goes Oh. I'm next especially that car because that is really expensive way more expensive than the other cars you bought. Everybody expected cheaper car. I wouldn't know I feel because I know you know that I wanted that car yeah and so you weren't going to go out and get me a Ford explorer and so that was. I was absolutely because I've been around. I've been around people that like like the they're not like Superman. They're not really my close friends but like they'll be like friends that I went to school with. I've heard heard people like bring up cars in a way where we're like. They're trying to get me to hear it over. I've been back home and like someone will go yeah like the new. The new Kia Stinger is so I wish I could if I could afford a car. Eh I've heard people say this. That's the card get if I could afford it..

I think the harder we talked shit about them, the more light. That's how you, you know, like that whole like I'm a rewrite the secret. The secret is not to speak things into existence. The secret is to talk shit about people. You think you're never gonna meet because in the universe will face with that person to make you better as a person. Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah. So fuck Travis, Scott. Fuck you. Fuck and dumb as ole stupid shit music head as hair music. Hey, your music, bro person. Faulk Warren Buffett, the guard actions? Yeah, all of that will not. So he Travis closed off the set or his set. So like our wristbands didn't work like we were standing out there in the rain in the guy was like, Nope, yet act stage to, yeah, we're backstage like walked off the bus and the guys like, nah, you gotta have this wristband. We're like, what is the? So it's like you gotta be in track. Who says you gotta like work for Travis to watch this concert, even being backstage like backstage is dope, but there's even like there's still layers of you can't get in here. Just crazy here still are at goes. Yeah, they're still layers of who do you know here? Yeah, to like sorry to even go here. Yeah, even go here this. What are you a music festival? What do you mean? Who do you who do you know here? Dude, because I don't really recognize you. So. Yes. Just like a no. From me dog. Yeah. No, sorry. No, more guys? Yes. We just had this. You know, it's ten for guys at travis's concert. What? What we hold up? We got it. Yeah. Do that's just to get in the like to go here the music? Yeah, it's going to be ten. Ten cover for guys? Yeah. Is this okay this? I've just freaked. Okay. Now I'm hallucinating see other that red light was off. I was like, wait. I told you so yeah, so we couldn't watch Travis. So we just sat on the tour bus playing old as call a duty. Listen little ass screen. And and listened to Travis. Yeah, play in the background yet. Just the base of all the songs we wanted to hear. Oh, that stargazing cool. Sick. See that was that was sick. It wasn't it. Asuka those it right there. So then we, we sleep on the tour bus on the way to leads that morning after for me was so fucking. I like get off the bus because I, in my mind, I feel gross. I woke up before everyone else, and I'm like, I'm going to take a shower like I need to take a shower. So I get off the bus and I just like not thinking because I'm half awake. I grabbed my backpack grab all my shit, and I just like opened the door of the bus and I walk out of it and I close it. Just not thinking, how am I going to get back in here? And so I started walking onto the guy and I'm like, yo, I'm like this and that like, you know, I'm gonna come back here some my guys, the pass like, could I just come back? I'll probably back like our and the guys like, no, like if you, he goes, if you come back here without a pass, I guarantee you, I will not let you in keep in mind, reading and Leeds or technically the same music festival. Yeah, it's just like two different day the both the same lineup in the same organized, the risk look the same. There is a different color for each one? Yeah, for each city and I have like a pet like a patch. Fuck that. I just walked off the bus. He made I contact with me getting off the bus. Like, do you think? I just wandered here with a fucking backpedal of cameras and shit. Oh, what is this. Just through the woods? Yeah, just Bush whacking. Oh, what the focus is sick of fest. And I just so happen. Have yesterday's respond on, oh, that's weird being right there. I was just, you know, after the festival, I like to go Bush whacking Bush. Bushwack all the way six hours north to leads. Just trying to find myself found myself here at the festival yen. We'll circle but, and so I'm like, all right..
