"Heat. Take a commanding 31. Siri's lied. Tyler hero was the hero last night with 37 points and you think about this tomb? We talk about rookies this year in the MBA. What's been the chatter? Zion Williamson, John Moran job? Moran, Zion Williamson and John Moran did win the rookie of the year. We know that John Moran is a very special young player, and unfortunately for the genie played for Memphis. That was a team that lost Jaren Jackson Jr. They got into that playing game. They lost the Portland and we eventually got to see Portland go up against the Lakers. It was a very good, though rookie year for John Moran, and that's a building block for the future and just a tremendous story out of Murray State and getting very like under recruited And it was his one of the assistant coaches on that Murray State staff was going to find a bag of potato chips because he was hungry, and it wasn't on the main circuit. So he went to a different court. And he saw this guy John Moran e called Matt McMahon, the coach Murray State and said, You've got to get down here. We found something. We got to go sign this kid, John Moran and then John Moran remain loyal to Murray State because other schools eventually did come calling late in the process, and he said, No, I'm going to stay with the Murray State race or so you got John Moran. Then you got Zion Williamson and Zion. We know he didn't play enough this year, but he made such an impact. A only played 19 games before the shutdown. I know when the MBA started back up, he barely played in the restart, had to leave because of a personal matter came back. Then they managed his minutes. I thought it was a poor job by the New Orleans pelicans. They should have let him play longer in the game, and Alvin Gentry is now out of a job. Then we'll have to wait and see who ends up coaching the pelicans. For the next season. But when we get through the rookie conversation, if you would have told me that a rookie was dominating in the playoffs, I would And if you would've told me this 34 months ago, when we were right in the start of a pandemic, and we don't have basketball back over to said, Wow, the pelicans went on a run or wow job. Moran went on the run, and I would have thought, even even if you told me that it was a rookie. Can't be John Moran. It can't be Zion Williamson because at best, they would have been an eight seed either of those teams and they weren't taken down the great LeBron James and the great Anthony Davis in the in the first round the playoffs and to sit here now in the Eastern Conference in Western Conference finals and in the West, Michael Porter Jr. Who is a young player in this league, not a rookie, but a young player in the league. He needs to come up big for Denver, who, as Ah young player in Jamal Murray is playing very well may see what Nicole Yokich is doing. You look at the Lakers. We all know the bread and butter is the broad in a day and you see the Celtics, their young players, and I know Jason Tatum's in your three. And Jalen Brown is in your four. They haven't shown up in the final moments. And, yes, Tatum's a heck of a player. Yes, Brown is a heck of a player Last night. It was really You know, the opposite kind of of a Boston is was last night because for so many times the place we've seen Boston Goa big and then blow a lead and then find themselves in trouble. Last night, you had a Boston team. I had to come back. You know they were down and Jason Tatum at one point think it zero points in the first half, and then he exploded in the second half. There's just something where you can't get four quarters out of this basketball team consistently and let's not sugarcoat this. This a missed opportunity for Boston. This a big time missed opportunity, and I know what Brad Stevens I've been to the conference finals now. This is their third time. I know what Tatum there. They've been to the conference finals. This is now their second time, so I'm not totally down on the Celtics. Oh, my goodness Gracious. They're not going to be a good team for years and years to come because I do think they're going to be in the mix when you have Tatum just wrapping up his third year in the league you got Jalen Brown is just wrapping up his fourth year in the league. Campbell Walker is in your number one with the Boston Celtics. They got a good squad. This opportunity, though it's a missed opportunity is elastic tons of these two conference finals. You run up against the cast with LeBron. You knew, even though they took LeBron to a seven game one of those years and another time they lost for one. You knew you didn't have a shot. Really? In that Siri's This was the Siri's where you were the favorite to go to the finals. And the only team that was probably in your way before the postseason started with Milwaukee and Milwaukee. You never had to beat them. As this team Miami took down Milwaukee. So let's be fair here. Yes, I do Think Boston has a nice future tto lose to this heat team, which is a team that does not have a great roster, but they just find a way to get the most out of there, guys. And their best players, Jimmy Butler, Toe lose to Miami and I don't think the Celtics air coming back here. I just don't see it. It's it's It's embarrassing. It's disappointing that there is no doubt about it. If you're a Celtics fan, you should be living with this. Even though you could also probably walk away and say Yes, we miss this opportunity. It does not mean though, that the future just totally evaporates, but it's gonna be tough for next year. Cause you have Milwaukee right back in the picture. People are gonna want to join Miami in this offseason. Maybe Philadelphia gets her act together. Tough to count on them. Toronto is going to be right back in the mix. And, Oh, yeah, By the way, you got this team from Brooklyn that's coming. As long as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving can stay healthy. It's just it's wild, though, when you start to get towards the end of the season. And you see how storylines and narratives change from a year ago to now. Because if we want to look back at last year Everyone must own bouquets at Coe Leonard. And the year pride or that people were saying how childless Kawai is acting how this has become such a bad story. He wants to get away from Gregg Popovich. What is he doing? This is a bad career decision. This is a bad move on his part and what happened last year? Your eyeliner people were saying usurped the throne of LeBron James when he wanted finals MVP and a championship in Toronto. Now, you fast forward to this year. People go first time big pressure moment when they're expected to win because they weren't expected to win with your aunt. They weren't expected to win when Cho why was not even the guy when he won the finals MVP with the Spurs. He's finally the guy on the team going into the season. Where you think should be a championship team. I must have you asked Paul, Georgia, I guess doesn't believe in championship or bus and Kel..

"He goes just remember that and I said Bill. I'm all in God. Gets you know it was Kinda like in the more cowbell skit when you know They say you know where you get a lot of gold records in fact what does that mean. What does that mean absolutely? I love that I love that the more you can do Damore you. In fact I've been trying to tell my guys Scott guys the same exact thing now for years. Not Quite like that. But that's exactly what I've been trying to say to Mike. Did you take that to heart when he told you that absolutely because as I process it what it meant to me says? Hey listen either. You're in or you're not and if you're in you know you're GonNa see what I'm going to reward you with not going to be financial every time you do a job. Well I'm GonNa give you more work right and each time you get more work. It becomes more responsibility. You'RE GONNA grow you'RE GONNA learn and that's what he meant in that moment and Jim you know. I'm I'm this young mid twenties guy with all I WANNA do is working learn and he looks at me says and by the way I found out how much money he goes and I said you know I told him I mean he was owned by the way I can only pay sixteen grand and this is nineteen. Ninety-two this is. This is a nineteen you know. Nineteen seventy and I just and I didn't flinch. I'm like okay. Let's go and he just smiled and From that moment on he had me doing stuff in Scouting. He had me stuff doing quality control. I was doing stuff mostly in scouting but a little stuff here and they're helping coaching. Because I had been a coach part of that and it was great because I was getting this cross training because there are different skills and you know. Not all coaches are good evaluators and not all good evaluators can coach. There are different skills now. Everyone has to no football and no football players but there is nuance in the two jobs. And I found out quickly that I was better in the evaluation part than I was the coaching. I was going to say Scott who who determined that I did you order. Belic realized that you were more effective evaluating than coaching. Now Jim Honestly. I think I started to realize that when I was still coaching Murray State. Because here's what I knew. I was good at I knew that I was good day to day with the players. I could coach. I knew technique I knew fundamentals. I knew schemes and I teach those things all day long to the kids. I could motivate kids. I could motivate the players and I could also recruit very well in terms of recruiting. I could evaluate well to recruit good players. One time one of things I realized Jim was when he came to game plan day and I had to give significant input into gain planning and or have an idea during the game strategically what was a good play. Call Jim I was terrible at it. I was terrible at it and and and I felt like I was useless to the staff in that sense now. Everyone has a role. Everyone has a job I that but so was I got to the NFL. I really understood that I was better. Evaluator I was better at seeing big picture things. I was better at reading people than I was. Xs AND OS and again game planning and calling play so I realized that on my own and then what? I didn't realize I got to the NFL that entire job in life that you can have that has to do with evaluating players and that's that was a home run for me seems to me it's got you evaluated yourself and you made that decision and then you found that whole life and then of course you're working and you're growing and you're grinding and you're learning and then in one thousand nine hundred ninety nine you get married and your wife's father is none other than bill parcells but it just happens right it just so happens. The bell checks situation with the jets blows up at the end of that same year so he goes to the PATS. He sends a fax to Your father-in-law saying he wants to bring you with him. I mean Scott. Are you kidding me about that family versus your guy? What was that like? How do you process that Additionally was really difficult because it wasn't supposed to work out that way right bill and I had talked as friends When we were working together even after the Cleveland thing had had gone away. I went to the Ravens and then we spent three years together at the jets offices right next to each other and we always talked about. We always talked about what if right retired. Talked about philosophy team building of player evaluation. A big what it would look like and what it could look like an inside you know. Bill was never wanted to talk about the future too much and to speculate in project but we there was this conversation that hey if it ever happens boy it would be. We would be a good team now. It wasn't supposed four thousand this way. Jim took ballot. Check resigned the day. After by the time you know the the crafts and Belichick and parcels and the jets and they will get done fighting the Bella check you know becomes the head coach of the Patriots. I if it was supposed to be billing I going somewhere with with some other people. Under these circumstances I was no longer sure but sure enough within a couple of hours of that deal getting done. Bella truck sent a fax over the poor sales and I found out that night when I got home and My wife answered the phone and it was her dad and I kind of heard how she was talking to Stewart. Dad and I picked up the phone and I got an earful Because you know what's going on here and I truthfully and truly did not know because things have gotten so ugly that bill and I had to separate from conversations for a few days and sure enough. Bill had asked for permission. And I'll say this I to this day. I'm so thankful and grateful to A number of people involved in that initial mess starting with with parcells because he He was under contract. He could have made life very difficult. He understood he was angry at bill. They were not friends at that point in time they were friends that were in a fight. I guess and he. He told me that I could do what I wanted but I respond by telling him I'm going to do you want me to do. And you know that. I'm not going to disrespect him or the situation or family allegiances and he took a deep breath and told me he said you know what? That's a better job. That's your guy And it's it's a better job with more more upside. You know you're going to be doing more than just being the pro personnel director like you are here at the jets and he compartmentalized his Frustration anger the battle that he was in to help me do the right thing because it was a good career. Move for me You know but it was also a little bit awkward gap and remember when I arrive. You know the crafts realized that. Okay you know bill and I are boys but oh by the way. Robert Kraft sees me as parcells son-in-law even though that you know my wife I hadn't even been married a year. There's been a matter of months so I'm telling you Jim I will never write a book but man there's a story there really is amazing. Scott and I understand that you can only go so far into coin share so much but I'm so fascinated by both of these brilliant football men parcells and Belichick two of the best ever do it very different guys but if anybody can speak to it you can like. How were they similar? And how are they? Different I I would say that the the most what is most similar are they love the game of football. They love the game. They loved the history. They love football in its purest And most basic elements. They are football. Guys they love the game and they respect the game and that sound like Oh. Yeah everybody does and I'll tell you that's not true. Not everyone in the game of football or in the business of football truly loves and RESPECTS THE GAME. They respect people that came before them so that puts them at a level of of why they got along both. They're both exceedingly. I don't like the Word Jeans. But they are brilliant. They are though people it in their in their in their work area. They aren't they. They're and they're brilliant and they're They're competitive. They're they're They they're also similar in the sense that the people that you see on a day to day basic and a basic sense in the public eye they are different people away from the spotlight and away from the football life In very different people than what the public sees and I mean that in a good way yeah there and again they're different different personalities like different things but they're not Hey you know what Jim. I hope this. Is You know inappropriate. But I'm sure that the person that Jim Rome is that everyone here is in season listens to is a different person in your private life and I think sometimes people forget that people in the public spotlight or human beings to and There's a job to do sometimes and sometimes when you have a job to do you have to make yeah. He put in some difficult circumstances. I think that's fair. I would respond to that. Scott by saying that you know this is somebody that if you're not truly authentic in what I do and to a certain extent with what you do right now on the other side of the media then it would not work. I never have had the run of the career I've had if I were not authentic but at the same time while I say what I mean and I mean what I say I think about what I say before I say it I do understand and I figured this out early on do as a show element to this so I do not go home and talk smack to my wife and my kids and rant and rave at home all day long but but I am I am what I appear and what you see is what you get but yes. There is a show element to this absolutely Jim. And maybe too corny. Because I noticed this. Show that everyone's listening to Jim. You and I met a hundred years ago and I saw you on air and then I talked to you off air. We had a conversation and that was one of those moments. I'm like I understand right. There's an entertainment value just and sometimes it's entertainment but it's also you have to motivate people to get in a in a certain direction just like coaches do and already get a certain response or an action or a reaction so But you're right I I don't ever know you as having not been authentic so that that's the part of them to that. I think there's a private side of them That is that is very very likeable and and not. Everyone gets to see that I get that. I don't know exactly what it is. Because I don't see that Sabra. I know exactly what you're talking about Scott. We've got a few moments before you go and then you've got some other business. Let me ask about Tom Brady. It seems to me. Correct me if I'm wrong..

"So you can get this type of content. This type of thought. Because over the next couple of days, we're going to see some more of this. We are more this. This is the there's too much riding on this. Talked to one of my friends who in the coaching ranks in college basketball. And he was I mail. We gotta get to the second round. There's some bonuses be. It'd be coaching horror. Your wife is own year. But this is. We got a win this when we got to get to this level and things like that. But I get it. It's a lot of pressure and these moments by that Aaron Henry weighed in on this show first things first of Chris's on they tweeted out that video. And he quote tweeted it with the bulls eye and just ask the kid was the kid fended kid take offense to this. Was he hurt? Did. He think it was a big deal. No. He said, whatever Chris Carter said nail that bulls eye. So hopefully, that's the end of this story, and we can move on to enjoy the game because they're awesome tournaments. Awesome. I think we will. We'll move on from it just because that was the story of yesterday. I kind of the overnight it was like the overnight like, whoa. And then for people who have never been to a college basketball practice or a football practice in college or the NFL if you thought that was something. Wait till you get the practice because that was the head coach who's doing it. It's the position coaches who are the worst like the head coach is he overseas the practice, and you know, I've seen some cultures. Stop the drill. Hey, we're gonna do it all over. But it's the individual coaches that really get on you that really just they want the most from you. And that's what I'm watching these players that you know, we, you know in a couple of weeks. We'll have the the Monday after the national championship game. Right. And they'll play you know, one of the most famous of end of the season songs in one shining moment. And but really the song really for me defines that you only have one moment to make a count. And if you don't capture that moment, you'll be left sitting Bagley. What could have been you know, I feel for those kids from New Mexico state yesterday. They had an opportunity to do something. They had an opportunity to be the darlings of the tournament. And they couldn't execute. Down the stretch. You know, you miss free. Throws miss a wide. Open three at the end, you missed out on your moment. But you look at Wofford and Fletcher McGee Wofford now twenty one game win streak. They are capturing the moment there one shining moment continues to keep on going into the now second round when they play tomorrow. And now you start to feel like, okay? This is where you really got a as a coach really bring the guys in because, you know, we've extended to call somebody's coaches tonight today, you know, whether it's the Wofford coach Murray state coaches, and now they have to also be able to handle themselves because you know, before, hey, we're glad you made it to determine now you wanna game now that cell phone is buzzing they'll players I mean think about it. You know Murray is forbidding stay. He's seeing that someone had to at him. Meaning that on Twitter, something this video talking about you. So now. How the players are seeing. They they're watching the videos. They're seeing what's being talked about him. And now, how do you handle this next twenty four hours? This is where the coaches come in. That's all the coaches the experience comes in. And we've seen it before. There's some coaches can handle it some coaches get title bit..

"Friend from Philly dot com. He's listening to us right now in Tennessee. And he's out there. Covering college basketball at the tournament. He said, of course, you know, Irv Smith junior's father, he played the National Football League for a while like we talked about and the uncool was Ed Smith both of them start at south Jersey's Pemberton high school. Now, I took a look on Ed Smith because they knew about the data didn't know that the oil was in the National Football League is well he played bounce around practice squad. Ninety six then played from ninety seven to ninety nine falcons eagles and lions so matches up with the caller as well. I think he also does a talk show too. And phoenix. Oh. Maybe his brother too. So. Oh interesting there, but he did win. It was actually champion with the falcons in ninety eight as well. Let's see the phone calls. Dave and Boston, Dave. Go ahead. Thanks for taking my call. I wish I was just amazed at that phone call before how somebody can compare what Robert Kraft got four and somebody like, you know, Kareem hunt. I mean, these crimes what Robert Kraft did not violent at all. Now where I think they should punish him is the six games or whatever and the half a million dollar fine. But they could strip him of his negotiating like they're headed negotiating for the contracts with the TV and all the other stuff strip and move from that because of his bad such terrible judgment. He had but people that are comparing a year or lose a team, or you know. All their draft picks. I mean, it's just ridiculous. Yeah. The only way the only way the only way that this gets really two ways that it gets really ugly for craft is if that video does emerge because that does harm the image of the league. And then if he had any evolvement in the sex trafficking part of it, but still there's been no charges on on that front. So. One of the spot. There's there's not been any sex trafficking charges. Right. And obviously, there's bigger fish in the story, the Robert Kraft. So I think if there's any sex traffic, you know, angle to this. I think are already come out. But I don't think there is. But like I said, it's not even the same realm of crime. It's a non violent climb. It's a misdemeanor as opposed to a felony assault or Kareem hunt. You know? And like I said, I if they want to strip him of his negotiating power, I'm all for that. Because in judgment was very poor and the situation. Thank you for taking my call. No problem. Dave. Appreciate it. Yeah. You gotta compare a situation at least that'd be compatible. That's why. And I pulled up a player that got popped for prostitution because to me you can't compare going into massage. Parlor if it's just that to hitting a woman or hitting a kid to me, it's it's not. Comparable. Bob, Dallas, Texas, Bob. Go ahead. Thanks for having me on certainly not trying to compare Kareem hunt tyreek hill but thinking about Dallas Cowboys here, you got Randy Gregory, David Irving, obviously, some drug abuse going on just curious. Your thoughts on maybe the Dallas Cowboys are too much of a Cuevas organization right now. Maybe there's not enough discipline going on. Maybe there's not enough structure within the coaching and just overall organization to keep things straight. I'd take chances and they've had a lot of off the field problems Cowboys. They have a nice season last year. And you know, what as much as I like to bash Jerry Jones and get on Jason Garrett. They're able to find a way to get that team going in the right direction and get to the playoffs and went around and then lose in the division around some organizations, they take chances some don't and some organizations when you take a chance at ends up working and sometimes take a chance on someone and it doesn't want to take a look at organization that's had more success than anybody since two thousand one the pats. And we'll go to the ultimate extreme they took a chance on Aaron Hernandez. It clearly did not work. And then you had to release him. And we know he went to jail than we know what happened when he went to jail now to go on a smaller level they've taken chances on other guys as well that have been quote unquote, locker room problems. Or had suspension. Look, Josh, Gordon. And sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. So at the Cowboys yet do they take chances. Absolutely. And that's why the situation does present itself where tyreek hill gets released now if he gets charged and he gets convicted. And he goes to jail. He's worry about football for a while. May have to worry about football ever. Again. However, though, if no charges happened, and he ends up getting cut. Well team give him a chance. Maybe. However, this is the second time we've now seen something with tyreek hill, but we still have to wait and see what happens with this one. We know what happened the first time. We'll have to see what happens second time around. We'll talk some hoops. And that McMahon next that coach Murray state also give you some more college basketball thoughts is we do continue to roll along Zach yelp show on CBS sports radio. Here's John vacillated. "But someone who's career I followed all the way back from his days at Rhode Island Katina cap Moberly is in the house Katina home. Now. Are you man? I like that Hartman mobile you like that Hartman mobile. Yeah. Sounds like either lethal weapon. I think it's going to be a little bit of both today. Katina we got a lot of things are going to talk about today. You know, the month of March belongs to college basketball. I mean, we're in the midst right now the conference tournaments, obviously Grenache selection Sunday will be believe it or not a week from tomorrow. So it's getting to that time or sort of figuring out which sixty eight schools are going to end up in the March man as we were talking before the show today Cotino he had a great MBA career, obviously. But we were going back to your college days Rhode Island when you know, you always talk about those those magical runs from schools that you never expect and back in nineteen ninety eight Cotino Mobley was at Rhode Island coach by my dear friend, Jim Harrick, and he had left UCLA well left. He got fired by UCLA took a year off lands at Rhode Island. I thought to myself. Wow. Could this be any further removed from UCLA at Rhode Island and in his first year there with the? Senior Cotino Mobely. You guys pulled off one of the greatest upsets in NCAA tournament history that Kansas team that arguably was the greatest Kansas team ever. I mean, ROY Williams. France. I may were absolutely loaded Lester Earl Lester, Earl I mean, they had they had a squat. I mean of ROY Williams teams at Kansas that I guarantee you to this day was his most crushing defeat of a team that not only should have been everyone thought was going to be an automatic in the final four. But a lot of people thought we're going to win the national championship for sure since the beginning of the year that year, and you know, Paul was a stud, nobody can stop Paul at that time and. When we beat them. I'm gonna tell you a quick story. Right. We're playing Murray state. Would actually Mark offering. Yes, mortgage coach coach Murray state, and we played them. We beat them up pretty bad. And they were pretty good that year and we run in the same office because marks offenses generics. Offices Darwin's office. Yeah. Mark Raffray, by the way, had been his Lena system when they won the national championship and ninety five and then got the Marie say job. Right. Right. Right. So so we go, and we play them we beat them up. And then we watch kids play prairie view or something. Like that. I think they're paper. At eight when they won they were like jumping around and like just being goofy kinda thing. And coach looked at me and said you see that over there. You want to go to the pros? I said, of course, coach listen, I need about thirty. And a w I said, okay, coach, no problem. So we played them. Tyson. Wheeler myself Antonio's, dean Luther clay Preston. Murphy. We beat them up pretty bad. We beat them guys up. I think they didn't see what was coming with the guard play we had and then after the game where I'm really excited like, wow. We just be the number one team. I see ROY over there in a tunnel crying. He just killed my whole joy. Do when it comes to the right, right? Coach you crying. But. Yeah. And that's ROY Williams, very emotional very emotional. But you guys, of course, end up all the way in the elite eight I mean, you talk about the exhilaration of this stunning victory against the number one ranked team in the country. Not just a one c the number one team in the country. Kansas. And now you're playing Stanford in the elite eight this is a team with Arthur Lee, Mark Madsen. They had you know, they had a pretty good team. But you guys are in control. It was it was that was so brutal for us. I remember Tyson Willoughby at the free throw line. And I'm looking at my I'm looking at alums that we were super close with in the stands and I'm at half court, not even a half court. But I'm like what a little above the three point line. And I'm looking at them and I'm like signaling four four four by four in a blink of an eye Arthur Lee hits three straight threes. Yeah. Mark mass steals the ball dunks. It n one we lose. I'm like, wait. What just happened? I mean here here's the thing about this. And and you know, having covered the NCAA tournament. I my my I was fortunate of the daily Bruin in seventy nine eighty the year. Larry Brown came to UCLA we were fourth place in the conference that year literally got a gift was only forty eight teams in the tournament back in those days based solely on the UCLA. Name the sort of put us in there. And in the second round played depaul number one team in the country. Mark maguire. Gary cummings. This team was loaded. Clyde bradshaw. They were number one team in the country and lost to him earlier. So everyone just thought this was nice matchup for TB. But the and UCLA wins the game. Then they stunned Ohio State the next week with Clark Kellogg and curb Williams and Kelvin Ramsey that great Ohio State team. Then be Clemson will Larry Nance senior on that team. And then we'd be reproduce. Joe Barry Carroll, and then we get to the championship game and a lead late night game. And then Louisville came back Darrell Griffith leading the way. And I I was cry. I mean, that's the thing about the NCAA tournament is the fact that the deep you bounce in the first round like you're not even there, in fact, even if you get bounced maybe in the second round, let's set the big upset you get to the second week. Now, you're invested in the tournament. And I've always said this the worst loss is what you guys did. Because if you get to the final four this year like we made the show we made the show because that elite eight loss. You're invested. He one games you. You're so close now. I know it's been twenty plus years. You know, tell me you've gotten over right? Not at all not at all. Now. I can't even watch the game. Really knock him watch. That man. I just because I am a Virgo whatever that means everybody else. I'm very anal when it comes to things like that right on my job. I try to be the best I can be. And if I look at that game from gaining too, then I'll find a thousand mistakes just for myself alone. Right. And and put myself like, that's that's the glutton for punishment. I don't even want to do that. I just leave it alone. I said we now isn't amazing you play more than a deck in the NBA anything, right? All the time. Is you get you don't get over that. I mean, you don't. And that's that's the thing about watching these tournaments right now this March madness that is so unique on the American sports scene is that the idea of one and done is so brutal at times because you know, you'll pull an upset you got this euphoria of knocking out Kansas and then a week later the crushing defeat against Stanford. So you you have the highest highs and the lowest of lows, and by the way, you know, you twenty one twenty two years old, and it's like you're trying to deal with this. And it's it's it's hard to share. It is hard to shake, man. I and I was saying the other day, and it was just about just in general, my majors in college was psychology and communication. So for me. I just throughout my life, especially early on in my life hours trying to stay even because if you get too highest too far now if you get too low. So far. So just kind of stay, even you know from your child being birth to you know, you wouldn't like stay even keeled as possible. Enjoy the moment, and then laughed let it go. And you know, there's only a few games that. I really remember. There was a couple of games against the Lakers. I think it was oh four. Kobe. Dribbles to the left side. I great defense by myself and Jimmy Jackson came over to help. Kobe shoes airborne, Shaquille nil. Literally moves y'all Ming out the way gets the ball dunks that they win. Now. This is a series, right, right? Next time we play we play in Lakers. Again, we played the Lakers nine times that year nine they beat us five we beat them for overtime. It's not like I think game three or four whatever was at in Houston and called Malone had thirty. He's ninety two years old thirty and I love it was just like those look kind of things. Yes body else is just for me. I gosh, a certain games. I just can't I can't fathom. Well, like, you say so many games are so routine over the course of the year, and then suddenly something unexpected happens. And those are the things that stay with you. So when you get into a lot of the March madness today, we got a lot of NBA roles. You gotta talk about this. Antonio Brown situation. Still waiting. We got Calvin out there. He's on Antonio Brown watch because lose baby he said he's he's about to announce deal which we heard that yesterday. But I definitely on the other side here. I could he I want to get into this whole dynamic now Mark Godfrey who now is at Cal State Northridge right down the road from where we are. Ironically, his mentor Jimmy Eric who's eighty two years old now. Yes, he is on that staff. He's on. And then you say, I volunteer a coach with them. Really? I'm so busy now. But when I first started I was there every practice I bike from home to see sun, and the staff is great. I love the didn't have me really have MO Williams. Yeah. Wow. So they have a heck of a staff over there. But the controversy has to do with Mark Godfrey's days at NC state. Apparently. Now, he is the first coach that is Ashley directly connected to payments to players. So we're in the Geico Fox Sports radio studios. We're going to break this all down and maybe a little history lesson from Cotino as well. I mean when when we talk about payments and basketball. Come on this. This goes back to the beginning of time. But how prevalent is it who really should be found guilty of some of the indiscretions that have marred the college basketball scene. And where do we go from here a year ago at this time, there was all this controversy that they were gonna take down all these elite programs and it hasn't happened yet. So where's the NCA we've had criminal investigations? But where is the NCAA right now, and why they may be hesitant to take down some of their prominent programs. All explain all of that coming up next. Things. You.
