"Organ Put a request in there. You have a member for $25 is your annual membership in all funds raised going go directly to protecting our off road rights. And speaking of that, our things going as a government, leaving you guys alone or they still banging away. Oh, you know, there's problems out there. We have a problem in the Cleveland National Forest. Corral Canyon is the OHB area, and it's the closest real riding opportunity to the city of San Diego and I've been out there lots of times. SDRC has Has promoted a cleanup trail work for a number of years. Now that has been a big benefit to the forest. They're able to use the volunteer hours that they generate. For a grant from state parks, So we have literally given them hundreds of thousands of dollars through our help, so they closed the Corral Canyon area. Temporarily and let me read this right from the sign. They posted. Carl can you know it's the area is temporarily closed due to damage and repair work caused by the recent Valley Fire incident. Sections of the OHB area are determined to be safe for the public. We will reopen the trails so I looked at the map of the fire of the Valley fire, and it only crossed one of the trails. And if you know the area, most of the trails are in and around the Corral Canyon campground in the Bobcat campground and four corners, But there's one trail that goes way to the west around. Opinion Mountain. In another mountain by quarter, Madeira. It's a long trail and the fire cross this trail and didn't go anywhere near the area, so I wanted to make sure like okay, what really burned. So a friend of mine has a Cessna 1 72. And yesterday he took me up and we flew over the area and we circled around opinion Mountain went down by Carl Cannon to look and see. Where did the fire actually burn? I took some pictures. The fire didn't come anywhere near Coral Canyon, but they screamed that it did, And it did cross this one road that's miles to the West, and that one road is easy to close it be Simple thing that erect a barrier at either end of it. They could do it in a day or two. So what this makes me think. Is that our corral Canyon LHP area limitations extend further and beyond. What our trails actually Go to and by all means, can't we utilize this area to add more trails? They are started. Well, letting the head cat out the bag. I mean, if they're closing, it's so far out in a way. Why? Why? I don't know why they're closing the main area when I have a feeling you'll call him Well, I have a S O s. Oh, there's three district's in the Cleveland National Force, their tube Yuko and Orange County, the palamar and then the disk and so district, So I have calls into the discounts to calls into e mails to the manager or that what they call the The district supervisor. He hasn't gotten back to me. So I have some ways to put pressure on him. I don't want to give it out here but later later will But when it works, we'll talk about it. So I have ways to put pressure and we're going to put pressure on him. And I think it's ridiculous that they're closing the area for no good reason. Yeah, the fire didn't reach and extend into those areas. Then why haven't we haven't had a chance to be able to get in there and put the r couple of barricades up our blockades of our gatekeeper for per se, as you will keep him out of that area. We have volunteered and gone out there over the years on a number of projects. And I'm kind of surprised and hurt that they haven't called us and said Hey, do you guys want to help us do work to get the area open for you? Are they asking me? Well, they reached out to us and said when they were ready, they would let us know and give us the date. So that's what we got. They did. We did get that email. I don't get that email from Gabriel and Lindsay out there. So Richard Richard told sport with us, but I would like to speed things up a little bit. Yeah, that's what I wanted to How long is 2005 or 7 2007? They had a big fire that actually burned through the It's the area that was Richard Tolls. He had just started. And it burned to the through the area and they don't like to have an area open. That has recently burned because people can leave the route. They can go drive wherever and I get that. And one thing they like to do is let it keep it closed and let it grow back so it can take a year or years to grow back. So what Richard did is is they erected small fences along the side of of trails. Like just a further so high 18 18 inches 15 inches That sounds about right and we volunteered and helped. I remember going out there to help on that project, and so they opened routes as they Put fences along him and if you go out there and you look, you can see a fence along the side and bushes have grown over it. But it's They haven't said anything about that. And I don't understand why it's closed, So we're gonna work on it and I have a prediction. It's going to be opened before October of 2021 like they have announced, so we'll see that this is it's just Frustrating. It is is extremely frustrating, and but the good thing about it is They know people are watching. Yeah, that would be us. Well, one of the we're gonna know they're gonna know that way. We're on top of that. Yeah, definitely. When were the other things that we talked about? When was plaster city? Chris Wiley, where he goes and rides and one of the issues When we come back, we're gonna about to take a break. But as soon as we come back from our break, we'll talk about the railroad issues that are going on down there. "Yeah, you gotta have a reason. And you gotta have a fix. Yeah, Yeah. My hat's off to the BLM for going forward with this project and offering to do these upgrades for us. It's hard to say no, We don't want this stuff. Just leave us alone out there, but that's what we really want, right? Yeah, well, and it's not looking. It's not costing them anything. If they just leave it the way it is now. And if we were going to spend that money, I mean my preference. It's coming from the BLM all Central office. I would rather see, you know. Larkin unit doesn't get that much use out of it. It's mainly dirt bikes. It's you know, you're lucky. I'm skimming the bad places for horse riding some, but it's a nice area out there anywhere. Any wilderness horses legal. Everywhere. And Cleveland National Forest Horse could go anywhere in the BLM land. Ah, horse, Khun! Go! There's like a few 1000 acres in this little area Where motorcycles Khun, go! I think the horse is want to go there for most people going. Yeah, well, we opened everything I would prefer. I just want to say I want to finish. I would prefer to see that money. Go to superstition. You know, I like to do superstition. I talked to Neil about putting bathrooms. Dumpsters out there. He's all you know. Once we put him in them to be there, and we have to maintain them forever. Right now, People take their trash home. Yeah, so that's difficult because it is. Pack it in. Pack it out. If you see it now discussion and it was Like I get it, and I drive that have people pack it in and pack it. And don't think this BLM office has a lot of money. They don't really down. Oh, no, they don't have anywhere near enough money to do. The management practices that they would like to do. The other BLM has more money. Yeah, For sure about that. Yeah. I mean, they got more land to manage. Wouldn't it be something of source came to you guys and said, Hey, let's let me throw him all my money. You guys, You know that that's fix up these places and buy some more land so you can have a bigger place. Let it not be something I just think. What is his legacy would be versus what it is today. Isn't life all about legacies? Yeah, I Yeah, I would definitely have a racetrack. Go in. Yeah. Cure you, Maura than one. I might add. Yeah, because you know, you gotta have your three h track. You gotta have your one quarter mile drag strip Gotta have your one mile. You got a girl? You know, I would like to have, you know, preaching to the choir, as they say on the radio world, But yeah, and we can't emphasize it enough now get involved if you have concerns. Get involved. Audrey and Ed can't educate yourself and educate. Yeah, there's a plenty of places to get good education and look at both sides of the of the The issue. Don't just look at one side. Look at both sides. We're all about preserving the natural environment. I don't want to go out there and have a whole bunch of manmade or have you know, I found people on the left actually have some great ideas. Yeah, we d o a on a lot of things. It's only a couple of things where they're like. Oh, no, we need to. You need to stop back here and I'm like, because you tell me why exactly Tell me why. Well, there was a time When we used to be able to eat it Debate Ah Ginsberg and Scalia. They said that they used to debate Fire Lee. I mean, they were just at each other, and then they go to the opera. Together. They go to dinner together, they'd spend Christmas together. We don't do that. I can separate that part of their life from the well today we nobody does that anymore. My next door neighbor, Darcy is a cz. The strong leftists and I'm considered myself. Obviously I'm part of the rights and she wanted to talk to. You know, we have it out. We will will have severe battle Then Should I invite me over for dinner That night, you know, should take me out on a boat. She's got a little boat company She has done and we're really good friends. There's no way we can. Held our debate. Here's the Yeah. We agree to disagree, shall hear me out all hear her out, and then you know, we'll have it out. And then we're good to go often to you Convince each other of there of the other one's position. We go back and forth. Yeah, we go way back, I think never, but maybe well, because of that, some other people. I mean some of the ideas on on the left. She's an off Roader. She goes to Glamis. Yeah, it's not like she's now She probably doesn't want the desert to be closed. Now. She does not want to see everybody's but everybody's got this black and white mentality, you know, and that's not the case at all. Now there's a lot of overlapping. The main media is the biggest culprit to this. I mean, a stir last this fire they started this fire. You know, I I looked. I have a news app and I This is a couple of years ago, and I'd seen Trump's name a lot in it. And this was the one that is more to the left The news app. I counted 11 stories about Donald Trump. And they were all subjective and they were all negative. Sure. Yeah, It's like this is what they're talking about, right? It was It was all subjective. They didn't say And this actually happened. They said, Well, this person sort of thinks about and that's what they did this. Yeah, nothing, because that's how it works. Now now about feeding it now, it's all about the stories who could get the story out first, and it's not actual science. It's not actual facts. It's not actual story, and it's yes and once you can sell the story, then that's the way that it go. And that's the narrative. It doesn't have to be true it all, but that's the narrative and they're going to run with that narrative. Fouke and throw more poop against the wall. The other see what sticks look Bluebird. He's put in over $100 million in negative ads. To try to win Florida for Biden. Wow over 100 million and he's paying Bail to get these prisoners out of prison so they'll vote for Biden. So he's already in trouble. They're already investigating it because it looks like he's trying to buy votes. I doubt that he's doing that. He doesn't look like he's the stupidest guy on the planet. "Plan within your company and you want to help out keeping our deserts and mountains and trails Safe and open. They're more than happy to help out every way. They have a full time lobbyist to keep us informed as what Sacramento's trying to do. They were heavily with the BLM. So it's one of these organizations and there's more than one in town. You know, if it was up to me, I'd have you joined every single one of them because every little bit helps, because if we don't talk back then they're just going to do whatever they want to do. Absolutely all right. So you won't talk about this hour, so I'd like to talk about the Cleveland National Forest. Great. That's right in our own backyard. That's the nearest place. You can go off roading. To us. Um There's some great opportunities there and they have their challenges. And now don't you live in Alpine? Right there at the Cleveland, right right on the border, and I understand there's a little fire out there. Yes, it's a horrendous fire that affected you at all. No, thank goodness. This time it has And I did get affected in No. Three No. Seven. This one is missed me. And my family. It's south of the eight. Heading back up through the moon pool and in that area. Ah, and you know, I just got to say this, And one thing you won't let won't find us doing is making this radio show political. We don't We're going to try to stay in the middle of the lane. But I have to say Gavin Newsom came out and said All these fires are strictly 1%. Due to climate change is the farthest thing from the truth. If anybody don't know about that, that is politicizing you saying that happens naturally, those force been burning for you, but they haven't They have done no forest. Management maintenance. You know, they used to do it, and then they got away from it because they're putting money in other places, just like the homeless, just like the military that are stuck on the streets. It's all about allocating your money. And how well do you spend it? You know, if you don't manage your house, you'll end up living and looking like California. So I just wanted to dispel if you have an opinion on fine. Keep it. I don't need it. I don't want it. I'm just telling you If you're anywhere close to the desert anywhere close to the forest, And if you want to listen to the science Listen to the people that know how to manage a forest. Okay? They do. Get off sells. Oh, bark. So the Cleveland this is burning is burned, and some of the always vey area has burned. And that's a problem. So you mentioned fires in 2003 in 2007. The fire in 2007 burned into Corral Canyon, right. Carl Kanaan is Theo a TV It's off highway vehicle area in the Cleveland and by the way, there's about 53 miles of routes there for all kind of vehicles is motorcycle exclusive trails. There's four wheel drive trails. Like Bronco peak that I've done on a motorcycle, but I kind of wish I hadn't. It was super hard, and there's a lot of trails in between. So your side by side. You're Jeeves. All kind of vehicles could go out there and have fun. So Richard Tall Was the area manager and he was brand new, he said. When he got there, there was still smoke coming out of the ground. He had just got there, and it's like, Oh, my God. My area just burned. What am I going to do? So they have these procedures that if a no off road vehicle area burns, they need to close it and the reason that he's close it is because it's very tempting. To go drive anywhere you want, right? And you're allowed to right drive on the trails on the roads to go off of them. And then this is a temptation and boys that attempted when I was a young man, the canyon burned and we went out there and oh, boy, we had some fun. I don't know about you being a young man. You seem to get more trouble when you're a young man and you were told I had a lot of fun, right dirt by you're just an adventurous 59 now, but you're an adventurous man back then, And even to this day you still ride you just you know my vans outside, there's a dirt bike and a mountain bike. Sitting in there just bought himself in the amount by. He's all excited. Can't wait to get off radio so you can go to the beach. Go take it in the technology canyon. I was going to say, Do you know down there by the San Diego Zoo? Just east of it. If you go over the freeway is that Technology Canyon Well, you know whether you know where the velodrome is. Yeah, I've raced there. Okay, Well, there is a offer. There was a mountain bike trails system right to the west of the velodrome down in that they'll haven't been in that I need to see I'm just letting you know. Maybe that's where I'll go. Yeah. I mean, I'm just saying, I got a super fat tire bike. Like 4.7. It's just it's caught a moon lander to surly moonlight, just giant tires. They go over anything. Not fast. No fun. That's not what it's for. Yet at my age, like how big of a hurry M I n I got sun Not okay, so going back out to Cleveland. So now I am assuming this fire is going to shit. Certain portions of the routes will be closed that are burned for how long Well, that's a good question, because The conservative approach of the forest is to wait till the brush grows back knew you're gonna say And that takes years. So Richard Tall Likes off roading. And so he took a very proactive approach. And what he did is he had He got money, and he got fencing to fence. The routes. That had burned so that people couldn't leave around and you're thinking I know what you think. And I Oh, my God. Do we need fences out? Their defences are 1 ft. High. They're very small fat. You could drive right over it, But nobody's driving over. Right. So he rescued all these rows instead of enclosed for two or five years. You have to give operation reveal. And to do that. You think National Force Now he works for the national. Oh, he actually worked as the staff. Guy for that area, So he did it officially, he didn't proactive. I actually volunteered and went out there and help put those fences in 1007 or eight writer. Yeah, remember that I didn't even know that so There's I believe it's called the Espinosa Trail. It's like the big loop that goes to the West. I saw on the map of the news that had burned across that and and and that's a cool trail to like. If you want to travel some distance out there and see some sights. That's a neat trail. It's not like a hard core challenge trail where you barely get over this or that,.

That's just that's not something. He's pretty vulnerable now. Action wise. So, Stacy what? We've got to keep up the chance. You've got to keep the exposure, because if people don't know about this stuff And Cal Coast news. I'm gonna look that up when I saw my are excited to see what what All the dirt is that they have and on the whole, the whole notion of doing things not just help, but there's a lot of trouble. There's a lot of trouble and they're very informative when it comes to different issues that when you get rich people interested in something Then there's a problem. OK, you're right. They know how to work the system and they got the money to back them up a little bit about ocean Indians like The current problem is that there's a subdivision that's recently been developed and that people have moved into and they're complaining about the dust, their expensive homes. They're wealthy people. They understand the system, so there's I don't know if maybe 100 people or so living there. And they're complaining, and that's what they're trying to push aside. The 1.5 million people who visit Oceanic Dunes a year for the 100 that live there for the 100 that moved in knowing that there's an off road park knowing that the dust blows knowing that they're in this area. And in a lot of the people that come visit, they don't live right in that area. They come from further away areas inland, where the it's hot in the summer. Been in the Inland Valley with a lot of Modesto in the summer. It's unpleasant. Dad, can we go to the beach so sure pack. Let's go camp on the beach, right? Yeah, Audrey was saying that $10 you can camp on the beach so very popular part, So it's just a huge injustice. To try to close this place from the general public when to be just like closing Yosemite. Really? I mean, rich people moved into Yosemite and he's on that kind of scale. Yeah, that's what I'm saying is, it's on that kind of scale. You gotta give somebody but there's more. They're not loving the people who go to ocean again, Right? It's just And businesses make money and Yosemite businesses make money at Oceanic dunes. It is the most visited State Park, California, Most visited off road State Park. Well, I don't know, because Hearst Castle is the most visited. They get 4.5 million still haven't gone very really. Whether it's amazing. I read the book. I read that as a think his book I've ever read in school. And I did it because I wanted to read it. Not because teacher maybe read it like I read War and peace in high school. Every freaking page I ran and I read William Randolph Hearst but at Utah I just got the movie. The best movie ever. Um Ford versus Ferrari. Just the other day for the 2nd 3rd 3rd time. I just watched that one. I've been to the movies four times, and I've rented it and I've watched it like eight. So yeah. WeII. Well, anyway, we die grass. That's what's fun about this show. But we do have a couple of more things that we do need to get out there. Definitely the national forests and what's going on out there. Let me run a little bit with the mic. He wrote this down, folks, so has has to be right. The Sierra National Horse, and there's about a dozen national forests in California, so the one were close to is the Cleveland National Forest. We go to Corral Canyon and go drive around out there. Well, there's a force called the Sierra National Forest. It's inland from the Bay Area. And they're doing a project to increase the number of miles of routes in the forest. Which is really cool. It very seldom happens. I was going to say what happened, would you What? What they're looking at is called spur routes. So you have a main trail. And then there's little dead entrails that run off of it, And they typically go to a place where there's a view or a fishing hole or nice place to camp. And people like to go well, they're they're looking at him at thes spur routes, and there's maybe 2025 of them and they wantto make him legal. Eso. What makes around legal? Well, the force has to have a biologist sign off on it. An archaeologist. Sign off on it in a hydrologist and that somebody who looks at erosion from water right? Right, so it's kind of expensive to go through the process. But there Decided to go through it, and they're looking at 29 miles of routes, and they're also looking at making a couple of routes One way and I've personally witnessed two head on collisions at Corral Canyon. In fact, I was right behind old SDRC President Allen Clump. And they ran into each other. So when you make one way trails, it just makes it for safer And I don't like right and Croc Canyon that much pressure on a busy day because I go out in a vast on a dirt bike, and I hate to run into someone write her, so we so we turned in comments saying that we we love this project. And we hope it goes forward. So that's going on in Glamis, the Imperial Sanders Recreation Area managed by the El Centro Bureau of Land Management Office, they're looking at getting a new Ranger station in the North. So they've had a Ranger station in the north for decades, and about 10 years ago, they finished a new Ranger station in the south, the Buttercup Ranger station, So the buttercup one is nice. It's a nice facility. The North won its two mobile homes both there together. Well, then the north south destruction up where they are now it's I totally believe that the South has less on It's about 1/4 of the visitor ship in the south to the north, so they're going to build a new one out there where they want to, So they have to go through this long process. It's called national environmental Policy, actually, so they're at the part called scoping now, which is they say what they want to do, and they want to collect comments from the public. I've talked to Neal Hamada, who does he works for the BLM and he says. On big weekends. They will have people who were injured in her in there waiting to get helped in the same room as the as the drunks that they've arrested. Then they had people break the walls because they're not very strong walls, So it's a tough situation there. It's not very big, just needs to be named in my jeep and I have to go into the same area and they're treating somebody right here. And then there's a drunk person right here that they passed anatomy and dealing holding yards and I'm in there trying to get him to come out and sign off on my toe and vehicle. And by the way, folks BLM is Bureau of.

May just recently may of this year I lived in Glen Eden Son Club in Southern California for twelve years. That's an expensive resort as far as like they've got a big budget they're well known for. Yeah it's actually. It's a land what's called a landed club and it's actually member owned. It started in the nineteen sixty. So it's been around a long time it's owned by its members so you actually have to be a member to go but you could. You can visit like three times you know. Visit three times to see if you want to own in join and then they also have where like non landed clubs plus it don't have a facility or travelers. Whatever you can kinda come in. They'll do group rates if somebody brings a group in from an land looking to at a resort or did you just. How did that happen? How did you end up with it? He he was a member of the Las Vegas bears and again this was more than twenty years ago so I got involved with the bears doing pool parties in Las Vegas and then I left Vegas in ninety nine through you know I. I left for my career so I ended up in Colorado Arizona and back in southern California which is where part of where I grew up I again. I've lived in many states but being back in California when I moved there in two thousand and three I bought a house in Murrieta which happened to be twenty minutes from Glenn. Eaten a yeah. Yeah yeah so I so. I became a member of Glen Eaten and was going there. As as my minute. Fix So is going there for new recreation made a lot of friends that actually became more of like an extended family route got really close to well some got to ask you because there are so many resorts in southern California. What made you gravitate to Glen Eden over say dear par or or Olive Dell or any of the others so actually the start. It was its location. The fact that it was twenty minutes up the I fifteen and I could be there again in two thousand. I mean it was twenty miles twenty minutes so there quicker. I'm fast driver. But anyway yeah so it was just the closest club and I love the facilities. I mean they have six tennis ball courts basketball courts volleyball court on. They have outdoor pool the indoor pool where we play water volleyball. That's one of my favorite. My friends always laugh at the CACTUS maze which sounds like a horrible idea at a nudist resort. Kako there's a cactus garden. Yeah there's a cactus Garden Rican walk through and it's it's well past where you're not like there's plenty of room to walk between the CACTUS. Yeah that's that's really cool. I I enjoy that as well and there is a hiking trail outback goes in the Cleveland. National Forest can hike and stay on the property G. or you can hike it. Go out the gate and into the forest and then back into the other gate back into Ge Chapel. I don't know if it's still still chapel. They have weddings at nude weddings at the chapel. Yup and some of them do service there. Yeah Guy Really familiar with with the place. I wanted to ask that. Some people have never lived at a resort. What is it like living there versus just visiting Zion. There's pros and cons. Well one of the big pro which I absolutely love is the fact that you can do everything naked so they have a lot your laundry facilities. You're living facilities. Of course they have a hot sauna. They do a back in the beginning when I lived there sometimes. The schedule changes but basically Nude Karaoke three nights a week A live band on a live band or DJ. Jam Dance every Saturday night. And of course it's all nude because it's in the gate and what else they do. The the reality TV fans would do a survivor. Yes I attended that if yeah I I'm not a reality fan. I don't do reality TV but but they'd get together for potlucking reality. Tv New Year's in Halloween dances our biggest nights of the year. They're huge just. Ought you content camp there if you have a trailer your travel. Or you can bring your trailer or your. Yeah there's cafe on site will turtle pond. Somebody had turtles right outside the cafe. There's yeah they do. The turtles are naked. Yep Nude Yoga pilates in the pool. I mean just all kinds of stuff so so so the big pro is being able to do everything naked and about only con. I could think of is oh. I have to go outside the gate. I actually have to put clothes on now. I understand that there was a lot of great reasons to live there and to love it but eventually you left. Why did you leave Actually the mudslides so anyway there was a there was a big fire. The holy fire now holds California's record for the biggest Wildfire in California so that affected the hills surrounding Glennon Eden Son Club in Corona so it affected a very large area impact. It started way over to the West but like over twenty thousand acres anyway so after the after the fire came the heavy rains which now have mudslides because the missing vegetation on the hills so after the first mudslide just Kinda. My backyard was eight inches higher as the creek behind my property overflowed in so I ended up with mud in my shed. I had to mock out no big deal and then later there was a bigger storm while I was in Santa Barbara. Actually visiting my aunt and When that storm came a neighbor sent me pictures that the the shed was damaged and have rocks inside so when I came home I actually found three feet of rocks and mud in the shed and Which is where the merchandise for. My business was so kind of a big hit there and long story short. I ended up with A lot of damage a unit Most of my insurance policy was was paying to have the mud removed. Sir Wasn't really funds left to fix my place a long story short. I had a for sale for a long time actually wanted to move to Vegas again to be closer to my son. Reconnect with old friends and The outdoor recreation and in Vegas is awesome. So I've missed being here and was kind of over the California people and traffic and all that the fifteen witches. Thi- fifteen interstate has gotten really really crazy with all the housing and apartments and everything. They're building so I wanted to be back here. Had the place for cell wasn't selling.
