"It's hard to believe that Patrick wisdom wouldn't be the biggest surprise player for any Cub fan. He's hitting 3 47 with eight home runs and 12 runs batted in. And nobody knew who he was. Probably after his until his fourth or fifth, two weeks ago. Three. Yeah, as recently is that, Yeah. Al Contras hitting 3 10 Duffy, a 2 78. Jeez, it's crazy. But you know what between that and the Cubs bullpen, which stepped up again yesterday, except for McGill, who just got called up and he pitched pretty pretty rough. Um, the Cubs have the guys and he just keeps stepping up for the light sacks. It's been Goodwin Mercedes from the start of the year. Andrew Vaughn. You look at some of the pictures. And nobody thought Lance Lynn was going to be with landslip is nobody thought Rodin would be even on the team. Rodat is five and two with 1 96 e R A and he's going today against from Cowser. And the Tigers that one can start away a little after 12 o'clock 3123323776. Who or what is your favorite surprise story of the baseball season for the socks or the Cubs? And of course, they've got some interesting stories because they are both on top of their divisions. The American League and National League Central's Let's Go on out to Cleveland and Dennis Dennis, what's going on today? Hey, there. Yeah, but I listened. Pretty regulate to you guys. I love the show. Uh, story about Mudcat Grant. He, um Find the bad for me as he walked just in the background behind the seating at Cleveland Municipal Stadium about 1962 63 had that bad for many years. I don't know where it disappeared, too. But You have a lot of his baseball cards as an Indian from the late fifties and then with the twins, But I did an iron on through my fancy scanner. Do they have from work? And I Of him and Joe ask you or I also met. Ironed on my T shirt is still wear around town from time to time. And Jim Mudcat Grant was a great guy. Yeah, it was really nice guy. Really good pitcher. Remember? You know, when I would go to games when I go to Saks is my dad would say, Hey, I got tickets for the whites, actually. Saxon, they're playing. I go. They plan to twins. This was a couple years later and I go. Who's he goes the twins ago. Crap. We can't beat Blyleven. I don't want to go to the game. We could never beat a bird fly 11 and Mudcat Grant was pretty much the same with him and Gary Peters hooked up. It was always really good Pitchersduel. But back in the day that is always those to our games. Yeah. And if I can see this, I looked on my T shirt. I actually you have a autograph from him. And I still have the original autograph with my baseball cards. But did that iron on as well with the Chief Lahu from about 49? The Topps baseball stamp album? Love the baseball talk, guys? Yeah, thanks a lot. Appreciate it. Love the nickname Mudcat. Always awesome. What do we know The story behind? Don't Yeah, I don't. But it's funny because he talked about iron ins. And when I was a kid, Iron hands were big now he was talking about iron eyes now that he said he made it. Sure, sure. No, no, no. In the in the seventies, they were huge. They were huge You'd get you'd have your regular white T shirt, which kids were a lot more white T shirts. You go out to play just a white T shirt, and it was It wasn't looked at, like your parents forgot that I made a song about that plain white tees. Yeah, I know That's a band. That's the bad so, but you could buy you buy iron ins and I remember I have a shirt with different players in my my mom would iron and she goes, how many shirts you have? They said There's another one Did you have to keep on trucking? One with the guy? All my baseball. Okay. All mine were baseball guys. Okay? Baseball players in the room. The iron ads, but iron natural huge back in the day. And if you rip your pants you we have an iron on that was the patch, but it would have you know it would have something on it. So it wasn't just, you know, a pet like groovy or the smile. So you you are 10 years at least, 10 years? Yeah, that was seventies. Yeah, because when I had them they were iron eyes that you would actually try to. You're not from the inside. See jeans weren't a big thing when I was growing up. Jean shorts. What country did you grow up in this country? Yeah, well, I was in high school jeans weren't big in the seventies. What did you wear? Polyester pants, Your corduroy or whatever quarter jeans weren't really big. They got big in the city in the mid seventies. Before that. There were no remember that Levi commercial probably do well. Levi's and all what the heck was the one that Shields did commercials for? Oh, that was eighties. That was like, uh oh. The designer jeans. He came in in the eighties, but in the seventies, it was Wrangler. No. And if you're a kid, you were husky. I wore husky. Did you warehouse? He 16 husky? Yeah, Basically, there's a nice way to say you've got to. You've got a big kid there. They didn't want to call you fat 16 huskies. Um, my shorts right here, Angler Strangler shirts, and they're not even George, which will talk. I just want three pair of Wrangler shorts online the other day. You didn't buy George, did you? No, because because for some stupid reason we allow, um younger people than us. Tell it to tell us what's what's not. They make the world go around. We're on our way out. We'll see. But for decades I've been saying Okay. Anybody at Tiger Woods does is they think it's everybody thinks it's okay Golf shirts are not meant to be buttoned to the top button..

I love that rope broke broke, broke by hand for Dixon and Frank Minnifield and all those guys I love the Bernie Co Stars and Webster Slaughters and Reggie Langhorne and Ozzie Newsome's I loved old Cleveland Municipal Stadium and you got to remember. I'm growing up without cable. And even with cable, you only get to see two football games per Sunday. I mean, before Sunday night football was even really a thing. You get the one o'clock in the four o'clock. So I didn't get to see any other teams aside from the one o'clock and four o'clock, which in New York were almost always giants and Jets games and then the playoffs. Was not allowed to stay up for Monday night football beyond like the end of the first quarter. So when the Browns were in the playoffs every year, I had a team that I felt like I kind of knew. And You're eating dog bones at nine years old. That's freaking awesome. So, Schottenheimer. Those teams are very close to my heart, and I got Pang of sadness yesterday hearing that Schottenheimer was moved to hospice care. What He had an incredible football career and was an incredible football coach and He will be sorely missed whenever that time comes, But it's sad that it's come to this. But Schottenheimer is beloved by his players really beloved, I'm I'm really interested to talk to Christian equate about the bond that they had together coming up on Sunday morning football this weekend. Standing by with our headlines this morning. Is Andrew. Bogus. A Mr Bogue's good morning. D a good morning again. Let's go back to the top of the show and Sean Payton loving on Jamis Winston yesterday. It might be confusing because of Peyton's previous love for Taysom Hill. But at least it's legal love. Since Winston is still technically a sane Jon Gruden went on Richard Sherman's podcast and told Sherman how much he loved Sherman in the Raider Defense. Sherman's under contract until mid March with the Niners, so this is definitely tampering. So we'll see how the NFL responds if at all. The Bucks and chief sell their first official practice of the week yesterday, Tampa Bay used part of its day to simulate Sundays long halftime break. It's normally about 18 minutes. It'll be 26 minutes this time around. So we can hear the weekend. It's going 26 minutes the halftime that is the bets. That's what they practice for yesterday, 26 minutes in between 2nd and 3rd quarters. Yeah, our pre game. She's Yeah, I think that's what it always I'm sorry. Halftime half half hour half time. Is it really that long? I would have thought more like 20 minutes. I've been going back and I've been watching past halftime performances because it's nice. You've had a busy week. Listen, uh, my share. I just wanted to go back. I think that all the performance about 16 17 minutes. So then you figure this set up and then the takeaway. 24 26 minutes Sounds right up the alley, But the weekend has like two songs. No, he's got like 10. It's really Does he have 10 hits? I was kind of Pete there. I like No two weekend songs. No, no, no. He's got a weekend might become like the modern day Prince like he's a big deal. This is gonna be a great show. And who's performing with him. There's always the celebrity cameos they haven't announced. And I'm interested to see Maybe nobody due to cove. It. Maybe the covert barber. Maybe the chief's barber gets out. You never know it could be. Could be somebody fun. Give me the halftime show that surprised you when you re watch it how good it was. Actually Super Bowl 35. Ah young Justin Timberlake, a young Nellie of very young Britney Spears. Mary J. Blige makes an appearance. It is all over the place. It's all sorts of fun. Um, that was that was a really good one Prince. I think I didn't fully appreciate in the rain back in Super Bowl 41 with one. That's terrible, Terrible, terrible. That should have been better. Super Bowl 46..

"Our respect said they would call in a couple more minutes and we'll see what happens and to go back in time if you pay in energy Bill In the state of Ohio. There's a part of that bill that goes toward this first energy deal, which was so called House Bill six, the objects of which was to bail out the nuclear power facilities, two of them up near Cleveland. And somehow, by the time the millions and millions of dollars were being spent by both sides 11 of the bailout, which also repealed clean energy standards, and the other one didn't And I had on the issue. Matt Borders came on, and he was on the householder side of the equation. By the way. Matt Borj is also was appointed by John Kasich. Governor Kasich To be the chair of the eye Republican Party and that that's where the money is. The money is having 12 million Ohioans directly or indirectly pay into a fund to bail out so to speak, or to repair the two nuclear power plants. And the other side said and also repealed. Clean energy standards. Within the long term, would hurt the atmosphere here in here in here in the state of Ohio, which also would be Pennsylvania, Michigan, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee. About the time the heavy hitters got done. What the great debate on House Bill six. I had no clue as to what the hell was on the ballot. I saw through it, though, as I'm kind of in favor in general of nuclear power, because it's the cleanest possible and obviously it's renewable. And so the idea of letting two nuclear power plants in Ohio fall into disrepair and go completely off line was a negative to me. But on the other side of the coin by repealing clean enters energy standards that also cost thousands and thousands of jobs. So as what occurs many times by the time the two competing interests get done on radio and television and in print. Telling you what this house bill actually did and said You're so thoroughly confused about what side to vote for. I can't recall which I supported, if any, because I do support, of course nuclear power because that's the cleanest in the best also puts a lot of men and women to work. But on the other hand house Bill six, I think repealed clean energy standards, which are the windmills and the solar stuff. You have credits and encouragement. And by doing so many on the left thought That was a big mistake. But I do know because I didn't know Jane tempted at the time. But she was the favorite. Of Donald Trump. And, of course, and we just got another text. A few more minutes is what he says to call on the hotline. So we'll say S O. Jane Temkin was the anti Kasich and Matt Borj is now under indictment. Was the pro Cacic o r P and, of course, Matt Borj is being a long term politician wanted to make nice with the incoming power structure, which would have been trump Of course, Kasich was on the way out. However, Kasich still knows where the bodies are. Married Casing is going to speak at the Democratic Convention Democratic Convention for Joe Biden. So I looked at all of this, and I'm thoroughly confused. But one thing is, I said to share in college, which is come somewhat unique and different. As we fared through this normally, when corruption takes place. It comes from industry or labor unions to more or less pay off the politicians who come into office, his middle class and then an office. Multi millionaires. And the public ourselves or maybe fleeced her screwed a little bit, but we don't subsidize it. In this case, first Energy, which I think is the name of the stadium, the Cleveland Browns. Correct. My correct message is the first energy He's not sure if you know 749749 14,000 or pound 700. The new T. I think the name of Cleveland Municipal Stadium is now first energy. And so the company that receives a chunk of money every month, Adam Phan item from Duke Energy and other bills in the state of Ohio. Determined by we, the taxpayer. It's a diminished amount of money every month. But you added up over 12 million people. I'm sure it's tens of millions of dollars. Tens of millions that somehow we are in effect subsidizing First energy, which is giving money that the Cleveland Browns for the stadium project, and then we're also subsidizing the $60 million that Larry Householder has handed out. In the largest and kindness to a bunch of Republicans and Democrats. I got a call from a Democrat off there. That said, Let me give you some more histories that give me history and this Democrat said that she said to me That look. Larry Householder did not have the votes to become House speaker because she said the Republican faithful the Republican members of the of the General Assembly. I think there's about 60 or 62 of the 99 or are Republicans They did not want to vote for Larry Householder goes, the Republicans thought it was dirty. So Larry Householder went to Democrats. To get Democratic votes under certain promises. I'm sure To become speaker. So he became speaker of the house not with Republican votes, but he got Republican votes, and then many Republicans voted against him because they thought he was dirty and Larry Householder cut a deal with the Democrats. In order to get enough votes to become speaker. I'm looking to this and I'm going. My gosh, And I had Larry Householder on the show with May some 15 or 20 years ago when he was speaker from like, Oh, Oneto four. I met him at a political event about Four or five months ago. And he came up to me and we spoke. And I said, Are you the same guy? That was speaker like 15 is that's me. I said, you're back. And he said to me, like Get on your show, and I said, sure put you on one time and if you're interesting, but no more and I'll say Larry Householder was a good guest. No on the Bill Cunningham show as recently as yesterday because he gave you a more well rounded argument as to what the governor is doing relative, the Koven 19 And so he was the counterbalance. To the Mike DeWine was Larry Householder. And we spoke often about what the governor did and what the governor didn't do. One thing you might say about Mike DeWine. He may be a times misguided, but there's never been And the long, 45 year history of Governor Mike DeWine a hint of political corruption. He might be wrong, but one thing you could take it to the bank. That Mike DeWine is not dirty. That is not what the Republicans and Columbus thought about Larry Householder, but I deal with office orders as I find them fact about the only City Council member I didn't have on recent in the last two or three years has been to my Denard. I ran into her and our elevator in this building. About a year ago. I get on the elevator on P one, and she's standing in the elevator, I said. Aren't you too? My dinner? She said Yes. Why don't you get me on your show, and I said I'll give your name and number and match time. Let's see what happens. You got to do something Mats Diamond determines who comes on like Larry Householder. And so I said, Sure, I never got her on but I would have If something comes.

None of those are racial slurs, but they refer to An ethnic group. Native Americans. And I think if you get rid of Indians, and that's That's the big story today that the Cleveland Indians are Reviewing their nickname and are considering a change. I think you'd have to get rid of all ethnic names across sports. Fighting Irish Would be another one. Raging Cajuns. Getting your thoughts at 855 to 1 to four, CBS 855 to 124227 Here is Steve in Oklahoma and CBS Sports Radio. Hi, Steve. Hey, I was just letting you know. You know, I live in a town called Tile Wall, which is in the heart of the Cherokee Nation. Brand scans, we we we have a state champion team called Redskins that is a sensitive issue. For the Indians chief. Brave warriors. That's that's like a pride that's not offensive. No, I don't. It's hard to describe the word Oklahoma. Is a Choctaw Award for red people, all right? It's hard to describe. But like Some of the greatest high school's like Calico Sequoia is is 99% Cherokee. They're great, and they're in their name is Indian. You know, they start all you know, Like when the Braves have a guy running around named chief, knock a home A and he's a white guy in Native American garb. Mother you need to get rid of that. And they did a couple of decades ago worth or 30 years ago whenever it was When you've got a read Bright red logo. That's a cartoon native American. That is a very stereotypical looking native American. So long like that's not a 2020 Thing to do, but I think we can. I think common sense should be able to prevail. I know it is hard as that is to believe, Given the climate in the world we're living in. We should be able to discern. What is Commonly thought of as Wrong or offensive and What is it? Just a name from a long time ago that if we weed out or eliminate maybe some of the Things that come with it. Can still survive. And I think like the Warriors, the Golden State warriors the way they have changed the look of their team. The mascot, the colors. Nobody thinks of that. As Like I don't think Golden State warriors and Native American undertones don't pop into my head. Negative Native American undertones. Derogatory, stereotypical undertones. Don't come to me. Is there any polling or or there any. Is there any dead out there? That suggests that the that the word chiefs offends Native Americans? If it does show it Let's see it, and then I would I would feel differently about things. Arrowhead Stadium. Do we need to change the name of that now, too? Here's Norman, Ohio, on CBS Sports Radio. Hi, Norm. Andrew, How are you? Hey. Listen, his name in these teams. Like I think Washington would probably be a lot easier. How about the Washington Capitals? You know that that wouldn't offend anybody. There's already a hockey team with that name, but I get your point, you know? No matter what you come up with, it's already been taken. You know the Indians so I would And I'm not Joking around. You know, I would maybe sit together with some Representatives of the Indian nation and try to come up with something that wasn't offensive. I don't know they they like to be called Red Manner Native believe a native of Cleveland I don't know. But, you know, once you've got their approval for a for renaming the Cleveland Indians, I think you'd be in the clear. And you might even be able to keep Chief. What? Bring Chief Wild Well, you're not going to be able to bring back that chief Wahoo just that that That bridge has been blown up. Florida State works with the seminal tribe. That's how they keep the name. That's how they keep the Seminole logo. So there's cooperation there. I don't think that I would be shocked to find out that the Cleveland Indians baseball team hasn't listened or sat down with both Major League baseball and Ohio Indian tribes. I would be shocked by that information. Nothing that nothing that I've seen out there suggests that they've been tone deaf or they've been reluctant or unwilling to meet. With those groups of people. I think that's with Major League baseball's help. That's why Chief Wahoo went away. Hey, if you're going to have the All Star game here, get rid of this. Okay, done. There have been protests outside of Ah Jacobs Field. Cleveland Municipal Stadium going back In the day like about the chief Wahoo logo, but I don't know. Maybe people in Cleveland can tell me About town hall meetings and other events that focus around the nickname of the team being offensive because Getting ready for the show. I couldn't find anything that illustrated An amount of disdain or contempt about the nickname of the team. It was more the logo for all those years here is Helen in Pittsburgh on CBS Sports Radio. I'm not going to be fan because they're called the Russian red tails. I'm not going to be a fan of the Cleveland Indians if they win a World Series for the first time since 1948 because they'd be called the Guardians of the Spiders like I'm uncomfortable with the name Spider's. It's just creepy to me. I don't like spiders, and I think it's weird, and I can't think of a cuddly mascot that resembles a spider. But I'm not going to hate the Cleveland baseball team if they change their name. Not probably if they were to change your name to the Cleveland guardians because of the guardians of traffic over the bridge. Um I really going not by Indians March or Excuse me. Guardians merchandise. Am I not going to take my five year old son, who will be six at that time to a Guardian's game, his first ever Cleveland baseball game? It's all gonna happen. So what am I really fighting for? Over a name that in 20 years ago? Stand there on my porch is I haven't been a fans. It's a change name. It's been 20 years. You really gonna listen to me? Then? Why say that type of thing? It gets to the point of. I really want to stand on that hill and have that argument. I just don't think I do. I just don't really think it's worth it. And so what We get into these big flecks of support our rights and our free speech and all these things. These are things that I'm just shouting into the wind, But none of it's really true to me. None of it's true. These air sports teams Professional sports teams, for that matter. Into college sports. We can talk about that a little bit. But these are professional sports teams. They come. They go some around for a longer time than others, some around for a shorter time than others. I'd rather have baseball in Cleveland, then baseball, no baseball. I'd rather baseball by another day in Cleveland, that no baseball and I'm sure it's the same way in Washington. The Redskins could move. I don't think they ever would seem to be a pretty strong market that they're in a lot of ties to the fan base, and I'm sure that those Washington fans would probably still line up and be fans that maybe they'd go be Ravens fans. I don't know. Maybe you could get a couple of people crossing over. Why would they go cross over? There's still going to probably be burgundy and gold. They're still gonna have the same players will still have the same history that have a change of name. I just don't see it to be The big issue the way a lot of other people do. And I didn't know there was a big issue when I was first born 34 years ago. I don't know what the big issue when I went to my first baseball game when I was five years old over at Cleveland Municipal Stadium to watch the Indians take on the Texas Rangers. I didn't know it was a big deal, then. I do know now because we're more We're more connected than we've ever been. Social media has brought us together for good and for bad. I didn't know some goofball across the country felt certain ways about my favorite city and felt certain ways about my favorite teams the way I do now, and it turns out that there's plenty of people who aren't goofballs were actually really affected by that. So now, even though I look at some guys, they go Ah, that's sports that just some goofball. Let's meet that guy or get a big Internet fight with that guy. Well, no, there's entire group. People might be upset with that, or might be upset because A group is profiting off is something they feel is insensitive. Okay, let's discuss that. I don't know if professional sports teams are really in the business of standing in there and making people upset. Usually from what a business stands on. They don't want to make people upset. They don't like bad yelp reviews. They don't like bad Google reviews. They spend lots of money to change those reviews. They spent lots of money trying to get your business. Hey, The last thing they want to do is really upset an entire group of people. So, especially when it comes to pro sports. If they're still there, and they're still playing, they know ultimately. And Dan Snyder knows this ultimately, and he's a big big Washington fan. But he does know this in the back of his mind if he changed that name tonight. And came out with a new scheme. Same colors, new new uniform, new helmet the whole thing but kept the same colors and they had the same history. He know that there would be some people who are upset. But he also know there'll be plenty more who would line up and by the new merchandise. You could make even more money because that's what this is supposed to be about this What this supposed to be about, you'll line up, You'll make more money. You'll get more revenue out of it and the people who say they're upset to eventually come around and the people that are really upset and say they're never coming around. It's going to be a very, very, very small percentage. Because now you'll probably bring in more fans because there's no awkwardness anymore. I don't have to answer and find different reasons to do the mental gymnastics or why my favorite football team because I'm a football fan has a name that a lot of people get offended by and a lot of people get upset with Don't have to do that anymore is a fan. If the Washington Warriors of the Washington Red Tails I could buy merchandise, and I could be excited. Not gonna watch Dwayne Haskins and I can root for Ron Rivera in peace and comfort not have to deal with any of that, knowing that They're still known by a different name in the past. And we can discuss that. We could also know that nothing takes away the Super Bowls with Joe Gibbs. Nothing takes away what Doug Williams did. Nothing takes away the hogs and Russ Grimm and any of that none of that.

"In two thousand seven they were, they played at quicken loans arena in Cleveland. And so Laurie I we drove all the way up there to Cleveland to go see them, and then thankfully they came back on a later leg the tour and gave us a Columbus date, so I got to see them twice. Whereas the nationwide arena and Columbus. Yes so so at least I got to see the twice during their reunion tour, so that was that was a big deal for me because like I said obviously being such a police fan for so long. Yeah, and then you know. Obviously the ban wasn't around, and they finally reunite, and I could see them live, and it was such a. it was a great experience. Yeah I can imagine I've not seen any of them. Glide, but that's on my list I. I really think I would imagine. Sting puts on a great show he does. He's a great solo artist. Obviously now that he's getting older, you know voices affected but but yeah you still you still videos out there. If you WANNA see what he's like currently. But He's never failed to give me a a show that I enjoyed and never I never thought that he ever voted in. Yeah. I think so too, and I think that it. In much like I think Sinatra in his latest year later years right like yes. Yes, you age and that. As you talked about earlier. It's the mileage, right. He's had. Gives you the nuance of hearing the music you know. Ivy. Similar to I am not a major Bob Dylan Fan but you know my buddy Sam is, and he talks about that that the voice that Dylan has while never. Be a pop star just the age that he's the mileage gives you that much more. If you're a fan, exactly very cool all right, that's a great start number two. Number two. I probably would go with you to. Develop. Basically you to when when I got into them with the Joshua tree album sure. This which exactly which again was played heavily on MTV huge huge album. I mean every song on that album is is fantastic. Yeah and. They were also the best concert. I've ever seen personally. Yeah, because I was fortunate enough. Even as a kid I was fortunate enough to I was able to go see them during the Joshua Tree tour. Seven. And, so this is October six, one, thousand, nine, hundred seven at Cleveland. Municipal, stadium back when there was a. that's where the Indians play back in the day. Back when there was an actual Cleveland Municipal Stadium before they tore it down some but. The attendance there for that one was fifty thousand eighty one people. Wow, and so it was this huge crowd because. Cleveland Municipal Stadium could see like eighty thousand people easy. and. So it was just this phenomenal crowd, and this this was youtube in their prime right and it was just such a great classic performance. And That memory! That concert has stuck with me ever since. I kept trying to track down like the actual audio recording for that concert. Eventually when? There was a recent reissue of the Joshua Tree on. A. Thirtieth anniversary disc release. They attached one of the concerts wasn't my concert, but it was a concert from that tour. So I can kinda get the feeling of of kind of a little bit to re experience. What I experienced back in the in eighty-seven. That's very little, so is very cool for that. I really like I really love that yeah! I often. Every. February when it's super bowl time you know that you start talking about great halftime. Shows and obviously Mike fandom. Bring, Bruce is yes. He proposed show which I certainly agree was icon in amazing Often people bring Prince yes, version, but I if I had to vote I. Pick you to right after nine eleven. That just iconic where he's he. Brings out the American flag in their scrolling. The names of the People I'm tearing up. Just talk about it so. Battles always been a great showman. especially in live performances so so yeah, that was that whole America. Tribute to heroes was a it was a big deal back then absolutely and I remember that finally. Yeah, absolutely well so far hit two people. Groups that are major, stinging Bano are big springs, theme backers, and he is big backers of bet, right. There is so you're to for to. What's what's number three Let's see I'm going to go with the Beatles as number three. In fact, I don't think I have to explain the Beatles no that you either get them or you don't yeah. Because they're so iconic. In just their sheer musical talent that every member had Yes, even Ringo Yeah and You know the songs are just legendary there. I- conic. It's very hard not to know the words to. ECOMOG songs because their lyrics were so so well-crafted, yeah, and and That was what someone like I would say before. I would say you know because I listen to a lot of seventies, top forty and whatnot. That you know eventually you had classic rock mixed in with that. Yeah, so so I got to hear a lot of Beatles songs as a kid sure, and so it is. It's a band I've always loved ever since then and. If, I ever had like an actual working Tartus yes. I would go see the Beatles at Shea Stadium. That would that would be my ultimate dream concert of of time traveling back in time to go see you know. Often. On twitter that comes up like hey,.

"The Rams over the chiefs. Some were calling for defense is to be given a twelve player. Remember that stats? Oh, I remember the Pearl clutching. And Peter King. Peter King didn't argue for twelve men per se he just passed along. The Dan Fouts the hall of fame quarterback who was one of the first quarterbacks to benefit from the rules that that opened up offenses and culminated in the fifty four fifty one blowout not blow out, but shootout shootout blow out they know who you mean. Shootout eleven weeks ago today he was suggesting twelfth man for defense. The patriots last night play defense like they had a twelve man. Think about that. The Rams had fifty four points eleven weeks ago eleven weeks later, and it was week eleven. It was exactly the half point of the full season week eleven Rams score fifty four eleven weeks later, they score three. In an entire sixty minute game three sticking points for a while. I thought it was going to be the first shutout in Super Bowl history. The first shutout an NFL championship game since one thousand nine hundred sixty four when the Browns beat the colts twenty-seven to nothing at all Cleveland municipal stadium. What the patriots did defensively to Jared Goff? Sean McVay and company when you consider what the reputation has been of the Rams when you consider that merely passing Sean McVay in hallway is enough to qualify for a head coaching interview. Possibly a job. Bengals thinking today. They're hiring exact Taylor. The man who coached Jared Goff into whatever it was that we saw yesterday. Last year, Josh mcdaniels reneged on the colts. Maybe the Bengals are gonna renege on Zach Taylor. I sure would think about it. I mean, it's not done deals not done towards done. Maybe maybe they should be hiring, Josh mcdaniels in Cincinnati. The lowest scoring Super Bowl ever not since nineteen eighty two or since one thousand nine hundred ninety one since they founded the damn game. The fifty third edition had the fewest points of any Super Bowl in history. Besting? Super Bowl seven. When the dolphins completed their seventeen in overseas and with a fourteen seven victory over Washington, and that would have been a shutout. But for the Garo you premium whatever the hell that play was. And Super Bowl nine would have been a sixteen nothing shutout but for a blocked punt the gave the Vikings a late touchdown. This could have been should have been arguably would have been a shutout. Thirteen to three the patriots in their sixth Super Bowl win finally win by more than six points. Their first double digit Super Bowl win ever. Does that count as a blowout stats? I was calling for a blah does that count as a blowout. I mean, it wasn't a blowout. Just by the math. But I never felt like the Rams had any real chance to win. Did you? No, no. They never led. I was shocked when they tied it up. It was just punt after punt after punt to the point where there was real discussion. I was sitting next to two of the sixteen MVP voters in the press box. There was real discussion that if the Rams had somehow pulled off a seven to three or six to three win that Johnny hacker would have been the MVP. That's how bad it was. Stats that. I think he's was the best player for the Rams yesterday. I mean Aaron Donald had a couple of plays. But Johnny Hecker me. Nobody did their job better than Johnny Hecker. Aaron Donald had that one play where he just grabbed Tom Brady and just threw him to the ground. But he didn't do it nearly enough and indaba can sue flashed from time to time but not nearly enough. Look the Rams defense. If if if we'd had this conversation on Friday, and you had told me that the Rams would hold the patriots to thirteen points. I think we all would have agreed that the Rams would have won the game. Thirteen would have been enough for Sean McVay and Jared Goff and Todd Gurley and C, J Anderson, and Robert woods and Brandin cooks and Josh Reynolds to win Super Bowl fifty three. I think Sean McVay would have been thrilled. You tell me that the patriots scoring thirteen. I'm I'm getting my my ring size ready. The fact that they only scored three points shocking who would have predicted three points. No one was talking about a low scoring game. No one no one saw this coming who could have seen it coming who could have envisioned or imagined that the patriots would put the clamps on the greatest show offs on turf part two. So thoroughly to hold them to only three points three points. The Rams had two first downs in the first half Fifty-seven yards in the first half. Sean McVay admitted he got out coach look didn't. We look I wish I'd seen that part of it coming. I saw the patriots win coming. I saw it not being a close game. I saw the patriots covering this spread because I'll take Sixty-six-year-old Bill Belichick over thirty three year old Sean McVay any day of the week. Experience matters in situations. Like this. And when I saw that. And I don't think there's affected the Rams at least it didn't in an obvious way. But when I saw that the Rams hadn't planned for crowd noise. What what are you thinking? Rams. You think in your fans are outnumber. The patriots fans they didn't. It was a. It was it was. No Super Bowl is boring. But it was his cO could ever be. It was boring is a super well. I mean, it's still the Super Bowl and you've still got the NFL championship riding on the outcome. And it was still tied going into the fourth quarter. I don't care whether it's fifty to fifty or three two three tied in the fourth quarter is tied in the fourth quarter. And the patriots had to make plays down the stretch to both take the lead and hold the lead me look when when Jared Goff went to the well on consecutive snaps throwing the ball down the right side and the second one was intercepted easily by Stefan Gilmore that game. Wasn't over. The patriots had to drive the ball drive. The ball drive the ball and they had some big runs and they got the ball into field goal range. And even then it was a hell of a decision fourth in short Ida gone for it. I didn't trust Stephen Gostkowski with a seven point lead. And plenty of time. If that if that kick had hooked. And I thought anytime there's a there's a spotlight that a team up seven late with a field goal in the range of forty yards. I think Gary Anderson in the nineteen ninety eight and if see championship game and Gostkowski almost missed it. If you missed that game it kick you're giving the Rams a chance to go down and tie the game and force overtime. So look it worked. But I thought they should've done the Tom Brady plunge up the middle get the first down and and milk the clock. And then the final score would have been ten to three thirteen total points in the Super Bowl as it stands sixteen total points, and it would have been three more for the Rams. It may have not been the low lowest scoring Super Bowl ever because Greg's airline had a chance to cut the deficit to seven. Now that would have been five seconds left for an onside kick in a hail Mary to either force overtime or give the Rams. Shot to go for two and win the game. But that it just wasn't first of all nobody recovers onside kicks anymore and second of all. Jared goff. You think he's going to uncork a hail Mary? They need to do the Miami miracle and hope that gronk is playing the deep middle like he was during that game against the dolphins. Brian floor is on his way out the door. Never got the title of defensive coordinator, he replaced as a practical matter Matt Patricia after Patricia for the lions following suit. Both fifty two but Flora's working with ballot check. And here's the thing. I know that it's going to be one of the themes of the day is Flora's becomes the coach of the dolphins. To give a ton of credit the floors, but it's still ballot. Check. That's that's Bella check. I mean, Brian flora is is a trusted Lieutenant. But it's Bella check. Period. Bella checks still pulls that off whoever is the defensive coordinator or defacto defensive coordinator, they pull that off. That's Bella check having two weeks to get ready for Sean McVeigh. That's Bella check having two weeks to get ready for Jared Goff. The guy that some call country club. Not me some not naming names. Sources close to me tell me that Jared country club Goff is a nickname. That may stick. He's got to step up in these big games. He was getting a little bit miffed that there were questions about his rough stretch late in the regular season. I went back and looked he had four bad games in the regular season. One out of every four games was bad on average. Well, he had three postseason games. And the last one came up bad. It wasn't horrendous. There have been worse performances in Super Bowls. I found something last night on sporting news dot com, where they had they had looked at the ten worst quarterback performances. Craig Morton, the Broncos starting quarterback in Super Bowl twelve had zero point zero passer rating, so at least Gough ended up near sixty but for golf. He. Patriots were ready for him. There was a report from Mike Giardi of NFL media that the patriots were hoping that he would bleep his pants when he saw some of the looks that they were planning to give him and I'm looking at passer rating. Fifty seven point nine that would be his second worst of the season. The only worst performance statistically as relates to the passer rating measurement was against the bears. December nine nineteen point one every other game higher than the fifty seven. Now, one of the reasons Iran's couldn't get it done off pensively Todd Gurley. Not getting it done. We'll try to figure out exactly what's up with Todd Gurley. I don't believe anything. Anyone is saying I never believe anything. Anyone says anyway what happened to Todd Gurley and what could come next for the two thousand seventeen offensive player of the year? And the guy who was being mentioned as a potential MVP candidate early in the two thousand eighteen season. We'll take that up when PFC live continues right after this..
