Saturday’s NFL schedule is an unexpected delight: Three games with high stakes
"And we had some great games yesterday we had Texans defeating the Bucks wrapping up another A. F. C. south champs there for for five seasons they've done that we ended up having the rails be eliminated by Jimmy garage below Robbie gold late into that ballgame is the forty Niners looking for that number one seed but it was all about the New England Patriots once again and of course they win the AFC east for the eighty seventh consecutive year and bill Belichick was asked about you know where that ASC east hat how do you like the fit of the hat the current lower Nyssa can you imagine it sounds like or how should show press good right yep yep yep sounds good me we can get it done with all its music and I played with Brett Farr is that's that's fair is there a worst give me because who buys that I mean you know you're always looking for a last second Christmas gifts I mean does anyone actually own an A. F. C. east champs T. series in fairness you're offered up a banner that they participated in AFC championship so there are two New England is not gonna be one of those programs that is excited about a hat from an AFC east championship that I think you just said eighty seven straight yeah they're not but but you don't think of the Browns won their division that those hats would go flying off the shelves I I guess right again it's it's expectation level on where you've been and I was in baton Rouge earlier this week and I looked at it and it had give the semi final game tee shirts as you know against Oklahoma there like a get ready for the peach bowl this could be great Mike that's got to be a tough sell as far as merchandise did you want to say that you went there yeah you want to take it that you went to the game yes but it's not the end all be all for Ellis shoots to win a national championship in is to have the national championship cert against probably either I think the Clemson Tigers at Ohio state if they're able defeat defeat Oklahoma but for the patriots it's incredible that they continue to do it and I think I go back and look at Sean McVay tell sure and what happened I thought this was interesting his quote about not going to the Super Bowl would ready to attack the Aussies it is tough because you care so much about these players the work that they put in and you want to do your part to try to you know see yourself you know have see those guys have that success and get an opportunity compete for World Championship we're not gonna do that but I do trust that were made of the right stuff I know that once we get through next week I can't wait to attack the off season figure out how I can be better for this football team as we move forward and I think the scars are gonna make us better it's interesting you know the last time I heard bill Belichick talking give something similar a speech two thousand eight I don't even think you gave that speech river Brady was alpha back castle ins of coming in after Brady got injured in the first couple of games and they go eleven five that was the last time it's been over a decade since the patriots had to give a speech like that and when I see Sean McVay who was this hot you know commodity they go they lost a wild card game made it to the Super Bowl in your two and we're thinking all right he's figured out the game he's brilliant makes me appreciate tells her what bill Belichick and the patriots continue to do in this sport appeared at the end of a yeah and that's why it's been the gray of people say it's the greatest run dynasty in the history of the league because how everything is structured for this not to happen and you see that these teams that lose super bowls the hang over effect there is something there because it's so hard to get in that position and then when you just fall short of it the error just comes completely out and having to reboot now they're rebooting and when you give up draft picks like the rams have and they have a full offense of why they have to re vamp you know in a way it is not left tackle he's getting older if he's gonna come back and play there's a lot of different things that they're going to have to deal with in the Sean McVay the genius title and why so many of these young coaches got hired that was not the case for a majority this season they did come on and play better at the end of the year but there is a stretch in the middle of the season this team was lost so they have a lot of work to do show my face got to figure out kind of new ways to reinvent what he's doing with the personalities gonna have it in you try to re invented and we see reinventing offices work right we we see with what the ravens have done under Lamar Jackson we sell it Sean make very had done obviously with the rams and the collegiate level though I think you can win a national championship by reinventing your office I you look at the LSU Tigers and and what we seen even clubs and while work with but in the NFL it's tried and true it's not about how great your offenses ask Patrick well homes as he has a super beau yet now is arguably the most impressive player often simply we've seen in years but it's about the defense and I guess we still trust the patriots more than anyone because of that defense dowsers or anyone else no I mean right now if you ask me I trust Baltimore and what they're doing running the football and then the defense because it used to be it was all defense and still it keeps you in these games but with the roles and how things go use you have to be able to move the football and that's why the people have been more down on this patriots team because they've struggled so much all season well yesterday was the first real glimpse in the last three or four weeks that you see you know what maybe and now I think you're gonna see a little bit of that doubt start coming back
Lawrence throws 4 TDs as No. 3 Clemson tops Deacons 52-3

What Alabama's Nick Saban said at SEC Media Days 2019
"Cell yesterday SEC media days Alabama was speaking and I've been telling you all week if you want to see the kind of energy and hype that this media event brings just because it's football and just because it's the SEC look no further than Wednesday and Hoover when Alabama shows up when Nick saving shows up there is going to be a celebration it is a circus it is a zoo fans come out it is a spectacle a nixie even gives his speech about a lot of things he talks about the team he sometimes get in the it takes questions on the state of college football does he like this does he like that and he makes news music say but he makes news he's got one of the most powerful organizations in college football in Alabama football so when he talks people listen now it's not so much what he said at the podium that I found really troubling yesterday what I found really troubling is what he said in making his rounds to radio row because they got throttled last year you remember they got for Ronald last year against Clemson Watson gave them a mercy and kneeled down they had a chance to go by even more points and instead they did a mercy kneel down Trevor Lawrence diced up Alabama's defense intended so pretty badly so what how did Dixie even talk about did Nick Saban go on these talks and talk about how he you know he didn't prepare as well kudos to dabble Sweeney in the Clemson Tigers for putting a new of full full with Alabama's sites you do any of that stuff no he didn't when he was asked about what exactly happened in Santa Clara when closing beach you forty forty sixteen he was asked coaches or players in terms of who's a jeep well disabled actually started the conversation he said when the season started I think we were great when we won the Ellis you gave in November it just seemed like people's own agenda started to become more important than he was as coaches or players and seven said culture we had a lot of guys wanted to be head coach is a different places it takes a special person to stay focused on what they have to do now when we have a job somewhere else it's a waiting them and they have a responsibility on staffs I'm not being critical of those people it's just very challenging and we have a lot of that on our staff last year all the old I'm not being critical of those people and then go ahead and be very critical of those people that said I get it I'll like this I don't like this look I don't like this look I listen there are certain personality traits when you hang around different people that you can you can feel right there are some people in your life and you probably know these guys you probably can think of a man maybe it's even yourself there are some people that hate being at fault for something they hate it when it's their fault they look to anything and everything to blame why were you late overslept but I over slept because so and so didn't set the alarm or so and so didn't feel gas in my car and that's why I had to stop at the gas station or do you just can't just say I screwed up it's on me and it won't happen again you probably know a few people I know a few people like that I used to be like that I kind of had to change my ways I I because I just hate like looking myself in the mirror I hated being that guy I just rather go the Buck stops here I I screwed up is it possible looks even even in his sixties late sixties he's just that guy it doesn't want to say you know what I'm the head coach of this football team I was supposed to have my team ready and we were ready and credit to Clemson and Trevor Lawrence who we ought we watched on table we never played against and he's really the real deal and he threw us first for a lot of wrinkles and we were ready for the things Clemson could do both often civilian defensively to our team and we were ready and that's my job and that's where the Buck stops it stops here no he was he doesn't do that he goes on to talk about all of the guys who let Mike Locksley is now in Maryland right Josh gad is who's gonna Michigan bluesy Danny this is now the OC at Miami red key he's now George I will list goes on and on of the of the assistant coaches at Alabama that left last year just like the year before and just like the year before that all in just like the year before that Nick Saban's assistant coaches get jobs they get jobs as head coaches or better jobs in the job they have at Alabama that's just the way it goes when you have a national championship team everyone wants to poach your staff and they offer a big money and better opportunities then you're gonna offer and that's just the way it goes how many head coaches in the SEC once had time with that Nick's on Nick Saban's staff I mean look there's there's two immediately that that had issues we try to stay on to help them win a national title and also recruit and get their stabs build up at the places where they were that's Kirby smart Jeremy Pruitt Tennessee only happens all the time again when you're successful program people come calling day what what you have and so that's why they're attractive candidates because it's not even so much that they're the best coach head coaching candidate on the board it's that you've created a process they want a piece of that process so all things being equal if you're a guy that coach did Alabama under Nick Saban and you get interviewed for a job and everything's equal resumes of the same with other candidates the fact that you understand the process is going to put your candidacy over other guys and that's what he has to deal with year in and year out know what he's saying is I wanted my guys to focus and instead I felt they were looking elsewhere and they were looking at the jobs that they had rather than the job they had at the moment that is a damning statement on the character of those guys that are now elsewhere and you better be damn sure you walk that in and you have evidence on that if you're going to do if you're going to talk about those guys in a negative light it one of the highest attended media events in college football you better make sure that you can stand by that with these guys go out and publicly state you know what I resent that my focus was on Alabama football and yes I may have taken time to focus on this other job but only after I did my job focusing on Alabama football I burn the candle at both ends I didn't burn the candle at one end and hope that the other end would just be lit somehow burning the candle at both ends mean I'm burning on the sand and a burning on that it and I wasn't sleeping for a month but I did my job here and I did my job there I mean that is a troubling it's a troubling statements savings making because even at his age he just can't say you know what because I blew that I didn't have my guys ready and this is not to his fault and this is not the office of wind fall in this is not the defense of one's fault this is not the secondaries fault this is not any of these assistance fault it's my fault because I'm the head coach I know this sounds like what my kids do to each other that's I mean how long did you have to think about all knowing he was gonna get asked that it is C. C. mediators I bet he spent the entire off season and the entire summer planning that coup right I mean it's unbelievable I'm sorry Nick I just can't go by this even if it's true this is something you don't need to say even if it's true you don't need to say it but because we were in those meetings and because we'll have to take your word for it you've damaged the reputation of a lot of people that went on to other jobs by saying they didn't do their job with you with the national championship on the line I find a tremendously hard to believe but if this is the way deflecting blame well done because I'm sure many people just eight this
2019 college football championship predictions
"The Texas longhorns are seemingly trendy pick. Not only for big twelve championship not only for a spot in the college football playoff. But the Texas longhorns are a trendy pick for the national title game. The sporting news has there. I assume is only prediction out for the two thousand and nineteen college football season national championship game. And they predict that the longhorns, we'll take on the defending champions, the Clemson Tigers in the national championship Bruce Feldman who covers college football for the athletes, as well as Fox Sports notes that UT is a trendy pick, after they beat Georgia. In their bowl game. They bring back star quarterback Sam Eleazar and wide receiver Colin Johnson as well as have a budding star running back in Chianti Ingram. So when I saw this. Immediately. I scoffed and I scoffed loudly. It sounded something lonely. That scoff that was that was my scoff, because I was wondering what you scoff sound like scoff loudly at this. But then I started at dive in and you know, I removed my immediate thoughts and starting from a blank slate and tried to figure out. Okay. How likely is something like this Clemson has the best odds to win the college football national championship, according to Vegas insider, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Michigan all have better odds than the longhorns. So not only the longhorns longer odds than quite a few teams. They have longer odds than someone in their very own conference as the Sooners checking in at sixteen to one with Texas twenty five to one now, the love for Oklahoma's preposterous, preposterous. They're replacing on offense alone four star. Offense of linemen the starting quarterback and the best wide receiver on the team. There is an look Lincoln, Riley is a monster. And they are a recruiting hotbed. They recruit better than almost anybody. But Oklahoma being sort of the automatic team to win the big twelve is a little while you're going to have to win the big twelve you're going to have to win pretty much any conference. If you're going to get in the college football playoff can Texas do it. Yes. Texas. Absolutely can do it. They should probably end up being favored in every big twelve game. They play with maybe the exception of playing Oklahoma and that could obviously change based on the results early in the season now as far as getting into the college football playoff. You need some juice to your resume. Even if you win your conference, you still need some juice, you want juice on the resume. How about week two of college football. And you get Texas hosting LSU in a nighttime match upon ABC that's juice to your resume. So if you can do the simple. I say, simple and ironic manner task of winning the big twelve and you beat the by you bingles at home. You got the juice to get into the college football playoff because you would think Alabama versus Georgia potentially they eliminate each other Nishiguchi and Ohio State potentially they eliminate each other. Clinton. Is the runaway favourite in the ACC? So an undefeated big twelve champion would be a head of Georgia who lost Alabama or who lost to Georgia. It'd be a head of Ohio State who lost a Michigan or vice versa. And then Clinton. I mean that's an easy sell. Toughest game on their schedule. Texas AM coming to town week to outside of that. Not nothing scares you Clemson schedule. They should roll through this thing. So Clemson undefeated ACC champions, there in Texas hold up into the bargain. So once I thought it was crazy. It's not quite as crazy as I once thought, but Texas will have to perfection. Because nobody gets Bennett for the doubt with one loss outside of the SEC the occasional big ten team does. But for the most part, if you want in the college football playoff, you're going to need to be perfect, especially if you're outside the SEC, which is where Texas finds themselves, which is where Clemson finds themselves by the way, we talked about Clinton's schedule. There's no room for error in their schedule

"Running back. And this is why this Ricky commiserate exactly why coach Hilton is probably going on the chopping block. This is what not an Endo people got go much. Yeah. Yes. True. Gutting Matanza may work out may shock everybody and go defeat it chances are it's not gonna probably happen. When you look at the situation, the Alabama the Alabama crimson tide and not running the area in me. Neither neither is a Clemson Tigers. They're in LS. They're not running the air rate. They're not running the airy. So if you want to be a net conversation, you probably shouldn't run the air raid, you probably to try to fix what was already broken by that trying to implement a new system in place that a lot of players aren't fund of it USC. They're not very happy with the area. They think quite frankly, people don't talk to they might win six games. They lucky spread people's hotline diamond bar J James you are on the morning show. What's up? Guys chat chime in. I know you guys aren't fans of air rate. And who believe me, I don't wanna pure array late one day. I might leash runs it in Washington state. But you gotta understand Graham Harrell's originally area does not appear passing airway is office that North Texas at thousand yard rushers. They ran the ball about forty sixty percent of time. So you know, they passed fifty percent of the time to random ball forty percent in time these wide splits to get there. You know, the running backs out in space, and you know, even they're running backs. Let's say the passing the ball. Don't trust the ball off to running back and give them the space to operate teeth for their skill fares to shine. So I understand it. There's has tation he's into via the air raid offense. But is a loose term. I mean, hey, James James from diamond bar, James. Yeah. His last state won anything. Not. Okay. Hey, stop. Let me give you another one. Halid has kale one anything when they ask Sonny dykes air raid. They win anything. Did you? Hold on. No. It's not about the talent. This is a system we talking about your system should allow you to be successful. That's why you run it did Texas Tech win anything. Let me just say. One thing have the same office in line. They used to have acne day. They can't just run the ball down. Yeah. You can't. You know, what you do you develop them? You get them in a weight room. You put them you aero. You got to do that. You do that. You put them in a way room develop hope. Hope I hope they do. I hope they do hope, you know. Maybe they're proven wrong. They go back to you. And there's a strong running ball attack. But. LSU can run how come Kentucky can rose they have better players than homes. But it's not that they have better pairs they develop them Alabama run because they develop, but they get better players and they develop them for the first time in forever key. I mean you and I've talked about this a million times for the first time in forever. You watch you play against their opponents and USC doesn't have better players for the first time did not develop them these saying gods. That uses talked about you talked about Mirage Saint Brown could win anywhere in the country wanted to Michael Pittman junior anywhere, divine Williams, anywhere Tyler could have on to Alabama in a heartbeat. If they're good enough to go to those schools in play in develop. Why aren't they good enough to develop at USC makes no sense to me coaching.

"The Clemson Tigers had a fantastic day at the White House celebrating their national championship with President Trump. The White House mess hall was closed on account of the government shutdown. So President Trump called on the folks at McDonald's Burger King, Wendy's Domino's and the Tigers had a feast fit for a king big bags on silver platters. I mean, come on that's America. But a good many liberals in the mainstream media say the president's fast food feast was racist and unsophisticated good Morning, America's Michael Strahan said he planned to feed the players lobster and caviar. But I'm not sure what red blooded American football player would choose fish eggs over a filet O fish? And I would really like someone to explain to me how to all beef patties special sauce lettuce cheese, pickles onions on a sesame seed bun is racist. I'm todd. Starnes now for the institute on the constitution. Here's Michael Anthony peruta with the American view Volki. The new county councilman representing district three I have no need for a few years. Having served with him on the central committee. And I'm happy report that he is already beginning to distinguish himself. You see earlier this month councilman bulky introduced to very important resolutions designed to oppose into Expos the agenda of new county executive Stuart Pittman regarding illegal immigration into our county. The county executive seems eager to placate those who decided not only to make our county a sanctuary for illegal aliens. But also to assistance who have been detained on separate offenses by providing them with legal counsel at taxpayers expense. Regrettably resolution one nine thousand nine hundred nineteen were defeated along party lines last week with the council for Democrats closing ranks to be cleared. Now, the resolutions were symbolic nature. And even if passed would not have been binding on Mr. Pittman. Nevertheless, there are a few reasons I wanna thank councilman Volpi and commend him for his scholarship. First of all. Five eleven he's refusing to have fellowship with the corrupt schemes of those who have no legions to the values of America's founding. Secondly, he's creating a public record Thirdly. He's making it possible for his constituents to engage and be heard on this important matter. And finally, he's providing leadership and encouragement to his colleagues, which may very well paid dividends into.
Lovin' it: Trump treats Clemson footballers to fast food dinner
"President Trump welcomes the national football champions. The Clemson Tigers to the White House and serves the team fast food burgers from McDonald's and Burger King, Domino's pizza and fries salads. Also on the table. Burger King all America companies Burger King Wendy's and McDonald's we have big batch. Which is we have everything that I liked that you like. And I know no matter what we did. There's nothing you can have this better than that. Clemson coach, Dabo Swinney. Also, speaking and football in the relationships through football created this opportunity and for that, I'm so thankful.
White House, President Trump And Clemson Tigers discussed on Dave Ramsey
"Job today. A fast food feast is how the White House chose to celebrate the college football champion. Clemson Tigers the team visiting the White House as is usual for championship teams. They were presented with the spread of big Macs. Walkers, French, fries and pizza. President Trump remarking the food choice was due to the continuing government
Burgers by candlelight: Trump lays out fast food for college football champs
"Only have it. But have it at the White House with the president what special treat, but there is kind of a flip side to this. Then I'll bring up. Because we like to cover all sides on the show. The president's personally paying for it. Right. The government shutdown. Does it say something about him that when he had the opportunity to to pay for a meal for this national champion team? He kind of went cheap with. Seriously, like like, he didn't order steaks from the nicest steak restaurant in Washington DC. He got McDonald's Burger King. And Wendy's is like how can we save a couple bucks on NASA? I love it. I think it's hilarious. And I bet you those players are. I bet you they're going to dig in and tear apart that fast food now if if. The lightning win the Stanley Cup. And they're invited to the White House, which is a very real possibility do cheerleaders go with them. I hope so I don't know. So if that were the case. Would you would you want something like this to be the meal or would you want like a fancy it would be a funny story meal? It would be a funny story. But no, of course, if I'm going to the White House, I expect to be treated like a Queen. Right. Well, that is that really any different from. Right. And and if let's say you went to the White House, and they were serving up this kind of food the president personally pays for a bunch of fast food for for everyone to eat. Would you eat it? Yeah. Because your pick. I I see what you eat. Sometimes it's not McDonald's hamburgers. Every now. And then if it was fast food Barat bought four me by the president of the United States. Would you do one of the salad bowls? Yeah. All right. All right. That's good. I think I think they're going to lie. I can't wait to see the video. These guys dig in. The statement is great. He blames it on the Democrats in. For the Clemson Tigers championship team fantastic. All right. I got a couple of stories that I want to get to and and I really want to paint a bigger picture here. So there's one local story and one story connected to. What's in the news nationally? These days. And and what this is all about is that we constantly hear these solutions to problems all kinds of different problems when it comes to politics, and we get on board with them or we oppose them. But either way. A lot of times. We don't realize how complicated the solutions actually are. So this one's from the Tampa Bay times. An examination of how the guardian program is being implemented across the state was done by the Tampa Bay times in university of Florida student journalists now if you're not familiar with the guardian program, we've talked a lot about it on this show. They've also spent fifty four weeks in AP top five and only five weeks outside the top tin Vilma. We use this word a lot around sports. We talk dynasties is the Clemson Tigers dynasty already. I don't know if I can say that they are I still need to see a few more years of success only because of how strong a word dynasty is the come. Some Tigers are amazing. The Clemson Tigers are clearly one of the two best programs in college football and have been over the last half decade. But when you say dynasty, you think of early nineties Cowboys you'd think of modern day patriots. When you're talking about seven Super Bowls in the last seven Super Bowl appearances in the last twelve or so years, Clemson is amazing. Give me one or two more -periences over the next three to four years, then I can call them a dynasty right now. They're just amazing. Yeah. I agree with you the thing that Clinton is missing right now is having won back to back national titles. Have they done that had they won three titles in four years four titles and five years three titles and five years something of that nature with the back to back, then I would say they're a dynasty. But right now, they're just damn good. That's what they are. Just a damn good. I think it's fair to say that they are only one percenters of college football in Davos looks like he's having a lot of fun doing it. All right coming up. Also, we have our big bold predictions. "Do you believe in the Clemson Tigers? Do you believe that this is now a legitimate rival for the Alabama crimson tide to titles in the last three seasons? Both coming at the expense of Alabama though. This one was nothing like the wine in two thousand seventeen it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio. Good morning to you, Clemson alarm and Tigers football fans. It's good morning to be you that you may not have slapped after the national championship at Levi stadium in Santa Clara, California, sold out seventy one thousand people. So a lot more people in the stadium for college. Football's ultimate game than for what we saw with Niners home games, though that will at some point change. There was a flurry of activity early on. Alabama had its last lead sixteen fourteen. And from that point on. It was literally quite literally all Clemson. We're inside the Quicken Loans studios national mortgage lender. Quicken Loans apply simply understand fully mortgage confidently. It may not seem like it now. But the way that the Clemson Tigers started out in that first quarter with a pair of interceptions onto a Tango Valona and using those interceptions. Then to to score a pair of touchdowns one on a pick six or as I call it the quick six and then the other on an actual touchdown dry once they had stolen the possession away. Those fourteen points were essentially the margin at half. And then margin wasn't so different from the the deficit that Alabama faced against Georgia a season ago. So I'm sure there are a lot of fans around college football expecting some type of a rally we know that that Nick Sabin is the master it making adjustments. Whether it's halftime, whether it's in game, he's got that type of a football mind. He's forgotten more than most of us will ever know. I was expecting adjustment. What I wasn't expecting was a shutout thirty unanswered points by Clemson and a shutout of Alabama in the second half. In fact, if you break it down by minutes, forty four minutes to end the game with zero points for Alabama. That is the jaw drop for me. It's not that the tide lost because we knew Clemson had an incredible program. Not just the seniors who returned for some unfinished business from a year ago member they lost in the national semifinals to Alabama. But also this incredible crop of underclassmen that Dabo Swinney and his staff have recruited not just Trevor Lawrence. But Justin Ross and Travis ATN me all the skill position. Not all of them. But the majority of the skill position players. They're all underclassmen. Until this is just a building blocks similar to what? Ala Bama has done. Sabin at his staff. Bring in blue chip talent, they expect a lot of them early in their careers. And now you've got this success with Alabama that is breeding other programs who are imitating who are raising their expectations. And while I do believe as I've said on the show already. This is a tribute to Alabama the way that Clemson has put its program on the map the way that Clemson under Daboh has figured out a way to beat Alabama. And not just once but twice. It wasn't Justice. Shawn watson. So totally new group of guys in a lot of the offensive skill positions. Yes. There are some seniors that state as I mentioned have now won their second national championship, but lots of turnover in college football. And so it may not feel like it now. But this is a compliment to the standard that Bama has set. And there is a new sheriff Swinney in town right now Daboh and coach Saban, the only active coaches with multiple titles. You can find me on Twitter Ayla radio getting a lot of reaction from college football fans. And I will say I'm pleasantly surprised there have been some tied fans who've actually called in or found me on social media, very often. When a team is sent home in such a fashion. We don't hear much from the fan base of the losing team. But I appreciate what Nick Sabin said. This is not the end our story does not wrap up here. It's out our final chapter this. This loss will not define us. In fact, if you know coach Sabin, you would expect that this will motivate him, even more. Started the second half. When maybe the door was still open for a comeback. The tide had the ball. They're moving the ball. Not in large chunks, not talking about sixty two yard strike to Jerry, Judy. But they have the ball our five plus minutes to start the second half. And they're trying to get into the red zone. They're going forward on fourth down. You can see that Sabin is is being more aggressive trying to come up with ways to spark his offense and a lot of fire. So they convert one fourth down and then they face another. And despite the troubles of their kicker. They line up for a field goal. Snap.

But reselling Dingley they put a big explanation point on that national championship. So for the Clemson Tigers and the Tigers fans which to some extent through much of the regular season. They they were just kinda running under the radar but winning week after week after week and most thought well at some point they're they're gonna fumble up here. They're gonna foul it up. "And I did a little Clemson sports program called the tiger sports report. So yes, I mean that was a really long answer to a really short question. But it did it just ignited my whole career really was ignited through Clemson football. That wasn't important Jane for the Clemson football program. I mean when the Tigers take the field later tonight. Yes, they won the ACC this year. They won the Cotton Bowl last weekend. But the idea that this school in this small southern town could actually win a national championship. Started back in the in the eighties. You are. Exactly. Right. And you remember that? Well, as I do, you know was not on anybody's radar. It was not something we talked about bought about or dream about until we finished our season against South Carolina. And we went oh, wow. Look we're undefeated and it went to number one. And guess what you guys get to go to the Orange Bowl. I mean that was really the first time it ever occurred to us. We're we're kinda spoiled a little bit. Now, you know that we understand that we've got the culture and the program, and and all of the facilities in the foundations that we're really in it, you see that Alabama one Clemson wanted twenty sixty Alabama could be our turn again, we could see another, you know, three after after tonight. So yeah, but the culture and eighty one completely different. But once you've won it once you've proven to the whole wide world that Clemson university and Lou upstate South Carolina can win a national championship can be a real contender individualism football. You're right. Joey just writes, the story for the rest of football future things Jane that just. Really makes it special though. The Clemson football program is more than about just playing the game. A coach swinging the coaches before him I'm gonna be talking with coast, Danny Ford here in just a few minutes, but just a legend over in those areas, but you know, these coaches and the Clemson program in general, they're serious about these men completing their education, they're serious about making sure that these young men are prepared for life after football because that day eventually come exactly right in professional football. Even even with as many guys as we do have heading to the NFL, if not the story for the majority of the team, very small percentage, and even those guys aren't gonna play maybe five years match. So you've gotta understand that your education is the most important thing and look at Christian Wilkins in four years. He has his undergraduate and graduate degree, you know, Devo, I think just really sets the precedent for that. He is the first in his family to graduate from college. He was able to do that. Thanks callings after you walked onto. The Alabama football team, gene stallings gave him a scholarship, then gene stallings called him back after he was going to graduate and be in business while gene selling I come back into your got a graduate degree that you can work on to grad assistant, and so he earned a graduate degree and that the emphasis that he he gives these players, and you know, what if a mama of college age person, my son is twenty years old, if my son were college football player, there is not one person in America that I would want to tuck him up under the wing of..

"Has fallen off about the last two years and keep in mind that the the attention span of recruits is about like a gnat it's really small and so now there's two consecutive years where ford to stay football has been completely irrelevant both in the acc and at the national level and so if wild miami has been sending if all of a sudden miami continues to ascended afforded gets better at four to stay struggles for a couple more years they will be off the radar with recruits from the standpoint of these guys are a national player and they'll be looking towards other programs that are more hot recent i really believe that the florida at schools have been impacted more by the clemson tigers than anybody else regardless of whether you're in the acc or the sec take a look at clemson throughout the last five years and the player that they have put in that defensive front seven you take a look at what they did yesterday in a class that was going to have below fifteen players and look at where those players are those are players it routinely would have gone where georgia florida miami florida state clemson his taken that mantle and they've been running neck and neck with with alabama in that regard and i think it's had an impact on some of those ford schools meanwhile emery jones's the name that you heard a lot about because he was a guy who is going to ohio state and then all of a sudden decides to go to florida by all accounts had a good relationship with dan mullins your does that mean for that program will it gives years something to build around in so much of evaluating the quarterback position is identifying who's the right guy for you now demo and i think you could argue has been the best identifier evaluator and developer of quarterbacks in college football the last few years when you consider dak prescott in its gerald so what does he looked foreign a guy he wants him to has some designated skills as a runner needs to be serviceable the passing game has got to have some tough distant competitive temperament i really believe the number jones has those things to to fall into a guy this late for florida knowing that you still have january to unfold trevor to me i thought it was a monumental coup at a critical spot.
