"Freedom and financial freedom by buying a franchise and now air. We're shifting gears for part two of today's show. Yes sir and we are interviewing incredible guests on today's show. Her name is christine. Caine and on today's show we're talking about. How did i get here. Find your way finding your way back to god. How do you find your way. Back to god when everything is pulling you away christine caine. Welcome onto the thrive time show. How are you also. Thanks so much for having me. Hey you wrote this new book called. How did i get here fighting your way back to god when everything is pulling you away what what inspired you to write this book. How did i get here. It was a couple of years ago. I had kind of a sort of had the perfect storm. That's probably the best way to would at an and had lost a lot of people close to me predominantly my mom and then i had a whole bunch of stuff happening work and like normal and Then there was a personal betrayal in a relationship. There was a whole lot of stuff that all just sort of seem to happen at the same time and it was just. I confronted this moment. Where i really just want us to take my foot off the guests. We we do so much. We we hope to rescue the victims of human trafficking do a lot of teaching and training around the world and it was just. I think i reached a point. I just fifty years old. And i was thinking man. I don't want to keep my foot on guests and and maybe keep going with as much thurbers are being and turned to my husband during kind of one of these sort of meltdowns and i just said to. And how did i get here. How how would i get to this place. I've always been so full of passion so full of purpose and just realize that in that time just many things going on in my life that i just reached this drift and for me the drift was from purpose. It was like you know what. I got my eyes off the goal. I got so consumed with the circumstances. That i was confronting that i had really began to drift a little from our purpose. And you know. When i was young dad used to australia. We gotta this beach called beach. That just had a huge unto toe. I mean the rip tide currents which is so strong and he would always put up a couple of marcus on the beach and he'd say when you get out there check your marcus frequently because if you don't the current is so strong that it's going to take you out and you're going to end up drifting out to sea without realizing it. And he repeatedly say to us or you have to do to drift. Kids is nothing. And i realized that there were certain practices in my life that i had just kind of let slide a little bit. Forgot to check my marcus. And before i knew it was gonna be in the in the prime of my life in the proud of success and yet drifting from purpose because i forgot to check the markets that really counted in my life. Now you say you are fifty the you say that sir. I'm going to be fifty five in a couple of months outta here. How much. Vegemite are you eating. And how healthy is vegemite is that the secret is that the secret is eating vegemite wanting to be eating vegemite merican. I've talked to. That actually even knows what vegemite is. Have you ever had it i. This is what happened. I actually went to college. Oral roberts university and when i went to college at world roberts university my roommate. My name is clayton clark. That's my that's my given name clayton. Clark my roommate. His name was clinton. Clark and i knew it was go bad because i don't do roommates my wife and i to this day. I don't share bathrooms. I can't do it. So i could get my dorm room into a recording studio and i was trying to build rapport with my roommate. Because i knew that soon he would discover that. I might working hours from three. Am until ten pm. and so i recognize. There wasn't gonna go well. I thought i'll get him some gifts. I'll get him some stuff and Then he said yeah. Hey thank you for the gift you give for you. Try out this incredible australian food item. Vegemite and i thought it was the worst thing i ever had in my entire life. And could you describe it the flavor and do you like vegemite. Is that a big thing for you. Yeah do love it. It's every time we got back to australia. We get several jobs Because i want to keep my kids australian but it is actually yeast paste. So it's pitch black and it's a yeast paste normally when we give it to. We put it on really thick on a slice of toast. Said that they'll spit it out. Be you're supposed to actually have a slice of ties. Put a whole lot of butter on the toast and then a very thin thin layer of this yeast black paste. And i love the taste of it. It's so salty. It's so awesome but the the secret is how much you put on your only supposed to put a little bit on okay. I'm gonna write that down. That's probably the key to look at like you at the age of fifty five. I your voice is very familiar to me. Because i have an office playlist praise and worship music in my office and you are the video that cues up after my playlist end is always you play ends. It always me. I listened to the tribal praise and worship set and when it gets to the end of it. Try by the way it's on youtube. T r i b l. You're always at the end of the list. So i hear your voice virtually every single day. That's a good thing. I hope that he is a great thing. It's a great thing now. Okay so this book previous to writing this book was to listeners out there about your career because some people don't know where you came from a lot of our listeners. Want to know more about you. I was born in sydney australia. The daughter of greek immigrants. And what. I found out much later in life two weeks before my thirtieth birthday actually is. I found out that i was actually adopted. I was. I grew up with two brothers and my elder by eldest brother was adopted from one set of parents. I was adopted from another set of parents and my younger brother was the only biological child. But we grew up a life thinking. We were biologically. We'll biological siblings. And so. I didn't know that that was sort of a shocking thing to find out. You're not who you thought you were when your thirties. But i was left in a hospital in sydney australia. Unnamed and unwanted in fact my birth certificate does not have a name on it. It's this child's name and named number two five zero eight of nineteen sixty six. I was the victim of sexual abuse for many years. When i was very very young. And my my immediate family was fantastic. But my parents had allowed people into our home that they should have been able to trust. That proved to be extremely untrustworthy. That really an also being growing up as a greek girl in australia in the nineteen seventy s and nineteen eighty s. I was very marginalized because of my ethnicity. There was just a lot of animosity towards greeks and italians in particular just in the era that i grew up so you can imagine he's the cute. That sort of you know. Full of shame. Because of all of the abuse full of anger full of bitterness full of unforgiveness very marginalized because of my ethnicity. And and just you know a lot of rejection abandonment issues. All the stuff that goes with having kind of background like mine. So i was. You know. I was on a pathway to destruct patterns of of of you know Really destructive behaviors and just was a very hopeless and helpless and then very late late in my teenage years coming into early twenties..

"So folks, the guy who created the panic, the fear, those two point two million American deaths that we'd beer that what happened. The Guy promoted that Jimmy o out the Abdul. Jamila Teeth Institute, he is the one who's benefited the most from, so it is. It's a scary times out there because they're editing your social media, they even actually a twitter actually edited president trump's tweets when he tried to share his support for Michelle Malkin. Craziness really wanted to. They do he actually came out and tweeted. About Censorship, and how he was standing up for his good friend Michelle Malkin because a lot of posts have been deleted much like Candice Owens with her. And we actually had the audacity to delete president trump's tweet. Our presidents tweet was deleted. I did a prediction that before the election rolls around, they will take trump and banned him from twitter, because that's how he's been able to communicate and I believe they will try to totally cut him off I. They will see the media, won't them? They'll cover them in a bad way. They may even stop the press interviews, and they'll be no coverage and the only place he's going to get any coverage might be from radio, or from one America, news or something like that I really feel they're gonNA. Try to isolate him. I believe they're already doing it to the extent. You're correct. I would say to the extent that they're going to delete them entirely off twitter. I wouldn't doubt it. However, one thing that the encouragement here is that many people that I know have started believing only the stuff that twitter bands. So people say if somebody posts something that's deleted. They go I must be true now. That's great know so. It's almost a I think people have been. Irrevocably distracted with their smartphones, and all the media swirling around them, and you know there's constant updates and APPs delivery APPS and spotify update. There's a lot of updates you can't go on to spotify or I tunes or Google without getting a covert nineteen morning, but I think at a certain point. I was just in Chicago. And I would tell you about forty five percent of the people there are refusing to wear masks now good and you've got about three percent that are wearing them, and it's sort of jackass kind of way, bobby, it's hilarious. They're wearing them like under their nose and just kind of covering their. Not really yeah you know. Yeah, I think because almost done with this. You've you've obviously moved halfway around the world we won't get into why I'm sure had nothing to do with running from the law or legal things. I'm sure they had nothing. He lectures pictures on entrepreneurship at both the undergraduate am and NBA. He's very smart successful man. It's got the world got that he's got a young seven Kangaroos News. I mean come on. What would you what advice would you give yourself? What would you say? Listen Self South I think in the end not comes comes down to get out there. Take risk you know. Go and talk to people Put One foot in front of the other. Don't over think your idea. Don't put it off till tomorrow you know action and getting the makes all the difference in the world when you first idea may not be your best so just be prepared to be agile and shift your view. You don't be too beholden to other people either in terms of them telling you whether you can account succeed it's better to be than it is Sucking the pencil colon just thinking about doing something John. I appreciate your time more than you know and again I apologize for really just buying into the stereotypes my understanding is that people in In Australia actually don't Cook. Shrimp on the Barbie is that correct. Sir Iraq. That's an English stereotype. Yeah so what can I say I will say this. This this is offensive. I apologize but I have to say the truth you have to. I had a roommate in college. My name is Clayton Clark. Work up until I went to college. My name was always Clayton. I never went by clay. But it's just people started calling me Klay because I was a DJ and it kind of went summit. Okay fine but I was always called Clayton. That was my name grown up and my Reuss Clayton Clark and my roommate his name was Clinton Clark Awhile. So I got assigned Clinton Clark. As roommate of Clinton Clark and Clinton Britain was from Australia and one day I saw this godforsaken thing that looked a lot like peanut butter called vegemite. What so I thought? I'm going to go ahead and do it looked like peanut butter so I'm gonna go ahead and have some get out the knife I ensure Clinton can I have some says. Yeah and he kinda giggled and I'm like what's so funny because Oh it's just it's a little different than peanut butter. It looks the same consistency and I put that on my bread and it was in my opinion. The worst thing I've ever had in my entire life but I understand. It is a staple all of the Australian Diet. Can you explain what is going on with vegemite. VEGEMITE is complete staple every Australian each and every I on a couple of slices of one degrade every night. We wonder why is that what we're saying. What does it taste like explain to listeners? This thing I mean it was like I did not expect that flavor labor and it was crazy. "Josh are you are you a fan of the pringles chips huge fan we'll today's guest has created a product called the good Chris The chip the good Chris Company and this product is taken off. It's a chip that's replacing ca pringles it's healthy it's gluten free Rilya and I believe he actually wants star of the hit show friends we'll see some shows don't meet us a liberty took the big show to me eight kids co created by two different women thirteen a Billion Dollar Businesses Ladies and Gentlemen Welcome took with Rock Time Shaw good Sir yes yes yes and flavored potato crisps Matthew Perry welcome onto the drive time show how are you sir very well thank you hey here's the deal my wife loves whole foods you know certain make and model of woman who loves food okay. They're proactive their their organic there you know what I mean they're wearing yoga pants him now lululemon they're having fresh pressed juice and I married one of those people I tricked her into marrying me like a man bear pick I'm the guy the guy who hangs out in the non organic section of Walmart and for like pringles cooking everything with Crisco on living entirely off off a McDonald's before I met her she introduced me too the Avocado therefore I have seen these crisps in front of me the Good Chris Company original flavored potato crisps I have in my hand in rumor has it the founder of this company I am indeed yeah what tell us about your your background man what made you want to start a company to compete with pringles that's like going against the the the the going against Darth vader you know it's like you're the rebels going against darth vader darth vader of chips exactly now the fighter of chips look was just come down to tomorrow off song or looking to clean up what always eating not unlock it's always fairly unhealthy and wasn't feeling about myself just turned sooty kicked down this path I hate to say it forty and fifty and sixty minutes it's not walking pretty so I need to this around on top of that as well I just had three three young girls and a thought happy with Connor snacks and food that win feeding them on WanNa send them down the same path that I am on so I need to clean up my act and so I started to clean up my mind died and what I was eating and and you know I love to any pringles I love the canister cheap it and lots of people still do but it just didn't align with with what always trying to do on my diet and so this to be a healthier version at there and looked around and there wasn't you know lots of people probably had the same thought guess what would it be different for me is I've I've been in the food industry at a company Australia that imported and sold other brands also Miller with it had some contacts in the industry and was out a fond a couple of manufacturers and working on developing a product for myself and then ultimately that I could sell to other families were now you you grew up in Australia did you do you watch star wars as a kid you want to start wars as a kid of cool yeah you Amer Java the Hut yes this is this audio of of what your life's going to be like if you're eating pringles okay like you it up this is you're gonNA end up look like job with a hot I mean if you if you don't get out of the this is going to be you mean job isn't that physically fit I mean a lot of people think he was physically fit but he's not that physically it but if you wanna look like Luke Skywalker you got switch over so tell us tell us about these these crisps here you you had this idea how'd you get the capital to to start the business what would you do did you no money from from friends did you sell a kidney what you do so we had to mention I had a business in Israel Radio that was able to fund some of what we were doing but then in advance chalet I mean we launched nationally in Walmart in launched in whole foods or getting some really big customers and now we need money so we got some outside investors uninvested circle up in thousands investment in small emerging food brands sooner able to get some initial capital to to get started and to really get the pro it out there so it's very expensive to start a business in the US in the food sort of thing so we did get some outside help to to make that happen we'll let's get into messy that'll here so what was the what was the business you did before this did you did you start pringles that's right yes no we would just there was a distribution company essentially that imported natural food and other brands from from around the world and imported them into Australia and sell them to the grocery markets in dryly and so after about ten fifteen years of that thought look why am I doing it for other people's brain when our could be doing for my own brand of my own product so that sort of coincided with why healthier focus and then also coming up with this idea and so developed the product and originally we're just GONNA launch it Austrailia but I I came to a major trade show here in Anaheim Amin in la the expo West massive massive trade show and thought well you know there's a huge industry here in the US is a huge demand for our product I kind of just go our product on the table and you know able really started to acknowledge it and would do double Tyke and come back and say wow is is that a healthy pringle wom- women whining to something like that installs would say look as soon as you get a one royal let me know he's my dates so I knew after that show that we really had an opportunity here I mean there's still a lot of work to do to make it come to lock on you it is absolutely a demontfaucon Mike this product is people that will buy it and so that's when I sort of Sweet Smart Focus Thought Rock We do sell into strongly about I think there's a massive market here in the US can you imitate the way Americans talk because you know people frost trillion. I mean you have a certain accident do you imitate McHugh could you do an American impersonation are one do that I think it doesn't sound Goodwin one so I can only imagine how bad it was to be an American leave that one to you should you feel the need my my roommate in college his name was Clinton Clark and my name is Clayton Clark we found ourselves as fresh human and I'm like get it get out of here get outta hair and he would imitate me and he'd be like well I'll tell you what why don't you go ahead and get off that bed stop like that and he's like why don't you know and then he offered me vegemite which I thought was he said it tastes just like peanut butter and I believed him I took a bite of it and I almost died recovered and vegemite your chips your taste nothing like of vegemite that is very well but how did you make the prototype for these chips did you just throw some stuff in the oven and you go what did you did you hire a cook a chef did you what did the prototyping phase look like and how did you get your first ten customers yup so we were fortunate because I've been working in the food industry we had good contacts in the manufacturing spice there's only a handful of people in the world can Mike Kansas city chiefs because pringles had such a strong hold on the market and those fortunate to to now a couple of hours able to connect with them and they I saw the opportunity and I wanted to work with me on it so I was able to use their facilities to weapon I had the idea and the knowledge of the consumer on what we wanted to do and I had the expertise in making the product and I really make a good quality park I want to partner and to develop it to get us to to the Autarkic Bannon and so you know it took a lot of going back and forth trying to get the fives rod and then even then when I had it right I had to go and then take it to the US and humans detested in our realize that the American Palette and the and the Australian palate were were very different reminds lock a lot more stronger either and bolder and more robust flavors so we had to really increase it to to get it right and then we finally did get the certification so that was the only thing that she needs to this is the rocket just pulled gluten free product and that's that but yeah the more skeptical with a bit more wary and so you need to go the third party certifications as this is certified gluten free this is certified non GMO young to be certified using natural ingredients so we went and go to Sirte you should I mean actually I I was whole foods in northern California so hard to get that deal you cold call somebody to show up what were you doing here. You're throwing these canisters the people how did you get your first deal yet it was a lot of that so we would just handing at Canisius we we had a contact in the food industry there's a lot of silence offers that have salesforce and going and noble these people so pot and with a brokering California originally I thought well California is logical larger economy than the whole of Australia so if I just focus on California I'll be on Rosalie or fortunately it doesn't look that white other people want so to get the product as well so we ended up going across the whole country but initially we just focusing on on California onto okay introduced us to the buyer and when they try to find your broker how'd you find a broker somebody out there wants to know how did you find broker so found the broke at at this trade show so at this expert list it's experts destroy event there's our eighty thousand people COMPA and and there are a lot of brokers a lot of sales people medicine looked me really lock your product would love to represent you when it's ready rage out to me on I buy is on people and and so you have to white through all those different business cards in on the people who are actually genuine those people that are just signing a lot of things but not not doing a lot right yeah and then since then we've found I probably the number one broker in a natural foods bicycle presence marketing when they've just done amazing presents this is great this is great stuff you're saying presence marketing is that your presence like presents like a gift not being present okay presents presents a presence Marketing Expo West that's where you went I think some of the listeners out there that are most of our listeners are business owners you know so they wanted to know this and you make sure you find that website put the link for both the trade show and presence marketing I I'm going to take time out to eat APPS here while Josh one of our show sponsors he's with us with a company called living water irrigation they help provide education for Lonzo for people who've had too many chips he wants he gets good h two oh you need their josh welcome to the show and what questions do you have here for our main man Matthew Perry who had a brief career in the nine oh two one oh show before starting this incredible company back to you judge hey man how are you hey my first question would be so al only speak for the and not all of Americans and not all of mid Western rate but I know a lot of my family friends big fans of chicken fried steak and gravy and Cherry Pie and a bunch so fattening double quarter pounder with cheese so however you begin to educate consumers on a healthier snack option or on a healthier option uh-huh besides eating the entire canister like what Claes doing literally at this very moment so have you educated the consumer base on a healthier option certainly not saying we need to start eating sade snacks or boiled Kim Guadagno any of that sort of stuff over saying his height you can have a product that you enjoy off and still have a great tasting energy to grab some of the people we have we have a staff of between different businesses we have hundreds of employees up here real fulltime people people Andrews turned potato chip manufacturer man with but by the way I'm looking at the back of this container and there's almost no ingredients man I'm looking at the back of like Doritos to get ready for the show I went out and got some Doritos I'm looking at the bag dude there's tons of ingredients this just has dried potatoes palm oil tapioca starch salt sugar dextrose white paper pepper what paper paper that's how do you have so few of ingredients that's what I want to know before Josh Eskimo questions how do you have so few and it's all it needs debate so that's really the secret of of sort of people in through the threat eighties nineties we could have been obsessed with technology.
