"It's fun. Everyone likes more trades. Everybody enjoys this. It's a good thing, but there's going to be a balance here. This is going to be an interesting likely vote either in March or may. And two quarterbacks playing. I mean, you take a look at the Lions who traded teaching Hawkins with division and Brock right is the one who scores the big touchdown. I just don't know how the bears almost knocked off the eagles and they're the ones who coughed up roquan Smith. So I don't know, man. I mean, I don't know how many teams are really out there because of the prideful of the men who play it. And also. That was going to be the most important thing rich said right there. He's patient, stop patient. Also gives me a chance to chime in and say. But they lost. They Kaiser associated you. They made you think they're not tanking, but they ultimately lost the game. I'm not saying they're tanking, but when you take out star players, it does mean a significant difference in a single night in the NBA, but in the NFL, it doesn't. It doesn't appear to be. The difference is in the NFL. You have to tank by getting rid of all your good players because there is no mark medicine sitting out there shooting threes. Way of tanking. You can't just completely half acid. It has to be you have to go hard. But to your point, that is true. And that's all stuff, the data is going to drive a lot of this in terms of what are we seeing in terms of the patterns of trades and everything else. "You're in charge of the team. And most of the positive plays, especially in the Germany game and the South Korea game, seem to go through his feet. What did you do with chicharito, get the best out of him in that World Cup? Because I really think, you know, he's a player who's had goals in each World Cup, but for me 2018 is his best World Cup. I think we have to mention now that there are players specific place that are better place. Than being in a position there are other places that are better giganto attacking that position. And I remember the confederation scope against Portugal, raul Jimenez started as a number 9. And Javier started as a number, 11 coming in sight. And that's how we score the goal. Javier coming inside, left his marker and scored a wonderful goal. So I think Javier has that particular ability he can play as a number 9, but he can also play as a giggle or somebody that will occupy that position. And I think that could be a good strategy for games like Poland where you need a number 9 that is capable of holding the ball up, is capable of prolonging the game with a capable knocking down and incorporating to the game or taking to the game they inside midfielders. But you can play with the outside or with a winger, it falls with winger, a false winger that comes inside like Javier in that particular game. But I don't want to know about his technical ability, but his physical ability about his overall game talk to me about his mentality because that's something that stood out to me about Javier Hernandez over the years. "So I guess that's a long way of saying that in my mind, in order for draymond green to get that contract extension, he craves. He's going to have to play at the highest of levels. He is going to have to prove that or at least make it compelling the case that this team can't win without him, because if that doesn't happen, I can see the worst Santa. Look, you want to opt in, great. We'll welcome you back with open arms, but a contract extension, at least not the one that kind of one you're looking for is just not coming. Yeah, just to give a little bit more context here to give people an idea. You guys mentioned next season Tremont green has a player option for about 27 and a half $1 million. Steph Curry and clay Thompson are combined to make, I believe, $95 million next season. That doesn't factor in Jordan Poole is going to get a contract probably starting around $30 million a year. Andrew Wiggins contract is also up. He's making $33 million this year. It's hard to see him taking a pay cut after how integral he was to the title run. I mean, just doing some back of the napkin math. I mean, they're looking at nearly a $160 million in salaries. And then Rohan, you're inching towards James weisman territory too, like he's not there yet, but he's a couple of years away. And. He looked really good during stretches and preseason. He continues to take this game to that level. He's going to be a guy commanding a big salary too. Absolutely, yeah, but weissman's deal is up next year. They're going to have one of the most expensive rosters. And I think to their ownership's credit, they've been willing to spend, but you have to wonder how much the appetite is for them to continue to go into luxury acts when, and we haven't even talked about clay. If he's not clay, he's going into next year is his last year. They have a pseudo replacement waiting in the wings in Jordan Poole. Harry, let me go to you, how valuable is the version of draymond we saw in the playoffs, and he had some great moments in the finals, some low moments, is that something they could get from a kamina. Is that something they could get from a wise and how valuable do you think the current version of draymond still is the warriors? It's like a light that flickers a little bit. In the sense that it's not always going to work, but you might really like the design of the light, but the thought is that you could always go get another bulb. Maybe you can't find an exact one, but you can, I don't know, this analogy might not be as good as what I thought. But my point is that draymond, I think Chris point from a moment ago is really smart that if you get another year with him because he opts in, it buys you a little bit more time to try to find a replacement. Whether that's internally, whether it's kind of by committee, if it's because you can find somebody in the draft, which granted they might not be producing it, it draymond's level defensively right away.

"Even including clay blocking Lowry marketings to remind us a little bit too that, hey, clay Thompson was known quite a bit for his defense too before the injuries. So I mean, great all the way around. You saw everybody the whole league was celebrating on Twitter because clay is absolutely beloved. If you don't like clay there's something wrong with you. It's funny when you ask, does it change the calculus of how we figure or how we assess the warriors and their title hopes? They were already there, right? Like that he could put them that much further along that he can give them that much more depth that now Jordan Poole gets to become this 6th man for them and potentially a 6 man of the year candidate if he logs enough games off the bench. I mean, it's only a plus. And look, could there be setbacks? Sure. Was Steph kind of running on fumes a little bit in recent weeks. There are certain warning signs. And you know, like, but that's those are just the rhythms of a season, especially for a team that expects to go deep. They were there. They were in the conversation before clay came back. Clay being at this level and assuming that he only just gets better from here, yeah, I mean, I think maybe we're talking about the warriors as favorites potentially. And I will still say just to put a pin in it. James weissman's out there somewhere too and when he comes back that fortifies the front court as well. You're putting a lot of faith in James wiseman having an impact, which down the line, I think he probably will, but maybe not year two of his young career. Before clay came back, I had the warriors in that top tier. And that top tier included Phoenix in my mind that included Utah and the Eastern Conference. It was Brooklyn and it was Milwaukee at the top. I didn't have Chicago. They have a great record, but I need to see more from Chicago to put them in that same class. After seeing clay and I'm sitting there and I'm watching and I'm thinking about this, I'm trying not to be a prisoner of the moment. I almost got to create a new tier. Like I would put Golden State above everybody else right now. Everybody, everybody else in the NBA, because and again, I'm kind of spinning it forward a little bit. I think that over the next three months because it's a long time. You can half a season for clay to get his legs back under him for clay to get shake off any of the rust that's existed after nearly three years off. He is going to be. I mean, I used to wonder like, would he be like 75% of his former self? I think by the playoffs, he could be like 85 90% of his former self. And that is still a great player one of the best shooters in the NBA, good defensive player. And when you're talking about Steve Kerr's system, it functions so much better when it's Steph and clay. Like Steph is still remarkable and can do creative things on his own, but that is a system designed for two guards kind of running around the perimeter playing catch and shoot. In his career because he is limited in the ways that he can affect the game offensively, and now you're turning to Chris Middleton and drew Holiday and other guys who've got to be that down the stretch, and that's just difficult to do. It's just difficult to turn to your number two or three player to hit these big shots against a team like the Nets. I just don't know where the bucks go from here, Matt. If they lose this series, the Nets aren't going anywhere. The East is getting better. The Supermax doesn't kick in until next year for Yannis. What's the future of this team? If they can't win at least another game in this series? It's a great point because you start to and we do this in sports media business. You look at what you've seen and you try to flash forward five years and what is going to change and to their credit? I mean, they gave him pieces, right? They gave holiday They got P. J. Tucker try to get a little tougher. They they gave pieces that allowed him or you would think. What allowed this franchise to make the next step. But oh, yeah, there's a big three in Brooklyn. Right? I know that's not an answer that I'd love to be able to tell you exactly what it is. But until we get closer, I don't know the better question and I don't think it Z. It's all fun when stuff when you predict something, and then it happens the way you thought it would happen, or when things get tied up with a bow or when the stories in sports are written that don't feel like they could be real that their movies right there. Or as as AH, living on this planet was the Dodgers win in the World Series. Say what you want about the Dodgers. I certainly do. Say what you want about a 60 game title. I certainly do. But as far as the sports landscape goes That's a pretty romantic movie ending. And that's what Marty was saying is when you pull Blake smell out of a game like that you're robbed of your movie ending. Not only when you when you you move a player like James Harden because he says he wants to be moved. Are you robbed of your movie, ending your kind of robbed of the movie all together as a fan who got to watch the started James Harden's career in Houston getting traded for from Oklahoma City. He shows up that first we dropped 45 points. Everybody goes. Oh, boy, this was This was a hell of a move for the thunder. I want to see the tree. Hated. Kevin Martin was the move for the thunder when they move James Harden to the Rockets. I think that's together, get back or one of the players. They got in return for hard and he was going to be a nice little, you know, asset for them, but Oklahoma City had three guys who have gone on to win MVPs and Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant and James Harden. So you're sitting here now and you call it all right? He didn't get the job done in Houston. They didn't win a title in what was one of the Old time runs for an NBA franchise for a sports franchise in the Warriors. We got that movie, ending with the Warriors and with with the Cleveland Cavaliers After blowing the 31 lead, they go and they get Kevin Durant. They get to go back and face them yet again. It was kind of Ah, Kind of Ah redemption story for the words. That's the sort of stuff I think we love in sports things that you can't necessarily right. Well, when you just decide I don't want to play for this team anymore. And I'm only gonna play for teams explain. Z s so really the way things have worked out in the history of sports, and I, It has made me less of a fan of the MBA because of things like that. It also makes me like absolutely appreciate what the warriors have done with Steph Curry. And this has a lot to do with the type of person that Steph Curry is, and maybe it has a lot to do with him growing up in the NBA right with his dad being a pro, and the same goes for Clay Thompson with his dad being a pro and being that they were drafted the types of runs with players on one team that they're drafted by in the MBA. Do not happen the way it's happening now, who are the top? Who are the top 10 players in the league right now? You Steph Curry, the only one who's on the team. He was drafted by No joke. He Steph Curry, the only one if you were to rank the top 10 players give me the top five. You could go LeBron, you could go A D. Neither of them on the team that was drafted. Drafted them. Kevin Durant, not on the team that drafted him. James Harden, Russell Westbrook. Chris Paul, run him down. There is no player in the league that is one of the all time greats. Maybe a top 10 or top 15 player in the league. Players play players on the team that drafted except for Clay Thompson, and I think you could make the case that because of injury, we just don't know whether or not he's still a top 10. Or top 15 player in the league right, so but again, Clay Thompson and Steph that's my point is that the Warriors are doing things differently than everybody else has. And I don't Don't trip on players getting signed or leaving in free agency. It happens in baseball. It happens in football. We see it all the time. But also with football. The great teams don't move on from their quarterbacks, right, they I'm looking at and Bill Belichick the Patriots here great teams try to keep that quarterback because that's what makes you great. Where is in the NBA? Now? For some reason, relationships get stale on And maybe it's just that these guys are too close with each other. These guys are friends, and that's something that was maybe the lasting effect on me from the last dance. The Jordan Doc. The memory is how much disdain Some of these rivalries had for each other. Right. How much like distaste Isiah Thomas has for Jordan and vice versa. They do not like each other. I'm like, is that is that good? Like it's not great for guys. They hate each other unnecessarily. They're part of the same NBA fraternity But as a fan, don't she sort of want to believe that? That just sort of want to believe that my guys out there hating that guy on the other team and not asking for violence on anybody? I'm not asking for anybody to injure somebody else, But I want you to go so aggressively that you want to grind that guy into a paste. I want you to say you know what? Not only am I gonna beat your ass, but I'm gonna keep you off the team USA. I don't want to play with you. And that's basically what Michael Jordan did right. I am playing with Isaiah. He can play against me. He could try to beat me. That's all it is on now get these guys who are your best friends, right? You get LeBron shouting out staff. It is postgame presser. These guys play in the Olympics together. They play in the fever championships together. They're hanging out playing college duty or playing in their local run, and in whatever given city they're traveling to in that off season. We didn't get it done, and James Harden may very well go down as one of those Allen Iverson type players one of the best to never get a ring right just because of his his type of style of play, and Allen Iverson, one of the most dominant players.
