"Williams and Dale Slocum. Looking looking gets into course stale but Daedelus shot clock Slocum. Now drives across the paint loses. The dribble gets it. Back puts up a little fatal a short. No good with the rebound. Now. She loses it to Sabaly here. Cubs Oregon with four twenty five to go up sixty six to sixty beef need to stop here. Hiebert at the foul line has up UNESCO. There's a foul. That's the second foul of fourth quarter as Slocum picks up her first personal Grimmett playing with four with two on the bench right now, six point, seven rebounds. She's the leading rebounder for the beavers beavers outrebounded right now twenty nine to twenty eight in this game. So it's pretty much a push as Cazzola gets it to Hebrew to the left. Elbow hands off to Sabaly savelly step back. Three is good. Data sadly skip three pointer of the game. She has eighteen overall at it's a point Oregon lead with four minutes to go the beans. Gotta get going on offense here but see good with the ball out between the circles nineteen on the shot clock. Three fifty two to go as slow Cup. Drives inside loses her balance gets it back gets rid of. It's a bit quiet was right headquarter. It's good bit you desk. Want her seven on the shot clock? Six five. Now read it at a time again Slocum with one puts up a long three-pointer way short, but that'll be a shot clock violation. The beavers. The fans here if you love it three thirty four to go up sixty five to sixty. The Oregon with the basketball take their time. They're going to work a little clock here up by nine points as you'd ask you now brings it to the right elbow continues to dribble. Can't get a shot off glide headquarter. It's Kozara back out on top and ask you what twelve on the shot clock. Unesco goes inside bounces at the Hiebert. She puts up a shot rolls around goes through. But that's the largest lead of the game for Oregon eleven point seventy one to sixty. Slokum drives down to the right corner. They're gonna call a foul on. You desk you and that'll be sloped up heading to the foul line fifth team foul on Oregon. So that's the that's the way you get back in with two fifty four to go. You're down eleven the ducks seven zero run they made their last five shots, but slow with a chance for some free throws here to cut it back to a single digit deficit with two fifty seven to go. I good Slocombe's sixteen. What more for destiny? Doc, sit down seventy one sixty to Oregon. Cazzola with two fifty three to go. Take time hands off to UNESCO. Esco? Uh-huh. Boobs puts up a little fade away. No, good rebound. Battle for picked up by McWilliams hands off to slow the road to do break. Scott says slow it down a little bit. Hey, we're down Diomede made a big basket right here to thirty three to go pick way of drives right baseline. Can't get a shot off doubt Slocum right corner. Gets a pass back to grid gets it. Back to slow Slocum back on top that Katie with twelve o'clock now Goodman has it. Good. Bit drives them with eight seconds of a shock puts it off the glass. Good a pretty little drive down to paint by Elliot. Good with two fourteen to go. Scott Brooks calls a timeout bees back to a seven point deficit seventy one to sixty four Oregon with seventy one points averaged ninety per game. So you gotta give the beaver defense credit in this one. You gotta get the duck defense credit to causing some big problems for Oregon state offensively. I think three I fully shot clock violations. If this game for the beefs. Four beavers in double figures. Elliot Goodman, twelve Katie McCoy twelve Joe Grimmett twelve destiny Slocum seventeen for the ducks. Unesco at twenty five twenty one. With ten rebounds. So she's got a double double going. You'd have do with twenty five points, nine assists. And then savelly eighteen points with five three pointers the ducks with nine three pointers, the bees just six below their average of around ten. So Oregon with the basketball Goodman. Dale Riddick McCoy. Destiny Slocum on the floor for Scott Rupa to Ted to go doubt seven. Cazzola gets to the savelly her shots. Short Goodman with the rebound cut it to five or four long pass down the slope of drives inputs it up. No good. Squawk. This is a foul because Orla desk will head to the down seven can cut it to six or five with one fifty five to go. Plenty of time left here at Matthew Knight arena. Twelve thousand twelve thousand three hundred sixty four the official dubber tonight as Slocum knocks down the first, and of course, at halftime Marietta. Vedra deputy athletic director telling us that the men's games the sell out of the women's games a sell out Saturday at Monday both foul shots. Go through seventy one sixty six just a to possession deficit and the beads data stop here against the ducks. And who has the ball? Unesco. Hands off the savelly who gets it to Cazzola Zola. Can't get the pass back. Unesco. Goodman, a good job on defense. They're twelve on the shot clock. Now, it's Hiebert if the right elbow gets it back out DNS Q rescue drives down puts up a little fade away at red rattles around. It goes through it a seventy three sixty six. Quickly the beefed up twenty three to go slow. Gets it to Goodman Goodman. Back over the course de LA three pointer by Tao's. No, good rebound. Unesco. And here comes Oregon one tend to go time running out on Oregon state here. The head off savelly to our left. Now, they're going to do that. We've killed some time with one minute to go beans doubt seven the fans here here, the announcer, say one minute remaining and some of them standing. Say probably about a thousand beaver fans here along with the rest of the crowd from Oregon is it s q puts up basket seventy five sixty six. Forty three seconds ago. Slope. Calls out the play. Now, it's the poor del left. Elbow back out on top the slope Slocombe. Looking looking package shot up Nabet Graham's right hand corner. Twelve o'clock clock time going off as McClay puts up a fifteen footer and that's good. But Cuevas fourteen points of the game. The Dow down seventy five sixty eight with twenty one point six seconds to go. So the shot clocks turned off and the of they're going to have to try to steal here. But. Right now things look pretty good for Oregon. And you'd ask you what twenty nine points, nine rebounds, five assists, a tremendous night for her. As Oregon's got so many weapons, but the beams hanging in this game, really. Yeah. Played really well. And this bodes well for Monday night at home in front of the crazy exciting beaver Dacia crowd. That'll be a six o'clock tip will be on there at five thirty battle bad. This this game. Even though they are down seven with twenty one seconds to go. Oregon struggled with the beef tonight. Yeah. The beef struggled with Oregon. I mean, both teams were tough on each other Oregon just a little too much offense at this fourth quarter. Even though the outscored them twenty two to nineteen. The second half thirty six thirty three Oregon. So they led at half by a score of by four points. Thirty nine to thirty five now lead by seven. So the really the beads of played pretty much dead. Even just a few clutch shots and shot clock violations. Did hurt Oregon state in this game? We'll talk to Scott rook after the game about that. But here we go. The ducks have the ball in front of their best to our left. Twenty one seconds to go the beefs try to steal the ball for the boo. Oh. They're gonna have to Fowler. She's going to have a chance to get hurt. Thirty point as Scott roic really upset with Clark. Stephen officials. Elliot good but upset as well. That's not a shooting foul by bad is not a shooting foul. So they only have. Have another foul to give the bees. At ESPN. There's a foul put up by Goodman, goodmans third personal. So that's four sixteen point five seconds to go. Zoro right in front of us here. Looking looking looking can't get it to the ball is in the bullies hands, and she's fouled by Slocum? Slokum that is her second personal now it will be foul. Shots for Oregon fifteen point three seconds to go. Oregon state. Doubt seven a great performance by the beefs here tonight. Even though they wanted the whip it didn't look like they're gonna get it down eight now seventy six to sixty eight but. This is just forty minutes of the eighty minute battle of the civil war. We'll see what happens by the unite, but Bali docs, down both a nine point lead as here. Come the beads Slocum behind the back dribble at the right elbow gets it over to Katie puts up three pointer. Good, and that's gonna do three seconds to go. Oregon the crowd stands here. And they win the civil war game as you'd ask. You throws the ball high above her head as a hug and Scott roof shakes. They had the coaching staff of the Oregon ducks who will talk to Scott ruin just minutes to provide abbey and the gang of learfield. Record that would be awesome. Got take on this game. Steve loses seventy seven to sixty eight. The final score twelve thousand three hundred and sixty four here at Matthew died arena. The first half of the civil war as advertised to the top ten teams in the country take care of well, showing the country and the Pac twelve network. Indeed. Both teams. Observing their rankings. This this went by Oregon, one of the most difficult Wednesday pad has got real over picking up the headsets, and he'll talk to us about this one. Scott. Can you hear me? Okay. Scott pruitt. I can hear you. Yes. Thank you. First of all, you got to say that he gave fits here at home. And you guys were in this game. All the way to the end. I was really proud of our efforts. You know, I thought we came ready to play tonight. We executed, you know, this is obviously a very good veteran basketball team that plays with in Oregon that plays with. Just a lot of focus and a lot of discipline. You know, they're highly efficient. So like we talked about before the game. They're mature team, you know, with with really good players. And I was proud of of the way we competed. I love the performances that we got I think Katie really played well tonight. She was on a mission from the beginning. And so I was just really proud of our effort overall, we got some things to clean up. You know? Of course, the rebound. Stop rebound hurt us. You only lost by one overall. But they're like every every offense aboard they got they got twelve and it seemed like every single one. You know? Also. A three shot clock violations that were at clear defense in the second half. Yeah. They they really did a nice job, you know. And and so that's like I said, it's a veteran. It's a team that does a does a good job plan position defense. Did they hide their weaknesses well defensively sometimes they head. Sometimes they switch, you know. And and you know, right now, we that's one thing that. We'll look at the on the film, of course after the game. But I I thought we could have taken advantage of the switch a little bit more. You know? And I thought that was impactful in this game Joe Griffith play twenty seven minutes, which is a career high twelve points, five rebounds. Had a lot of fight of. There was six or seven floors became to play you know, and our five just keeps getting better. I mean, Trish. Beast of a block down there early on rookie. And you know what? What I'm most pleased with overall right now is just a growth this week in this team. I mean this team took it to another level this week. Of course, when you play good teams that happens. The combination of you know, our Stanford game last week the cow game. And then this one those three games in a row. You know, we're we're taking huge steps forward. You know? And so this is a long season. We've talked about, you know. And so I love what I'm seeing this team wanted to win so badly tonight. They gave everything they had. They may be nation. Proud that made me Brown may themselves proud, you know. And so now, it's okay. What can we get better at between? Now and Monday when we face face, these guys again, great atmosphere here tonight, and you don't but day the sell out. It's a sell out for sure L, you guys will be hosting this team. You'll have Bieber Dacian out in force. They're going to be there. They're going to be intense. Yeah, they had obviously a great home crowd tonight..

"Come March, April Devon, white ingredient on our side greedy day, and it was these guys are big time players. They've made huge plays and you saw some of those turnovers equates appoints for LSU and they're going to have to do that all season to win. I'm just scared when you get into the meat of this thing and you start playing good SEC teams week after week. Sometimes it's the Trish in that gets you. Not necessarily the team that day really looked like an offense for the first time in seven, eight years. I mean, LSU has been struggling to find an offense. I know they didn't put up big points in the numbers weren't great as you said. But they were running the football. They came out with a plan. They executed early on, it kind of fell off for a little bit, but when they needed plays late, they got it. And so I, I agree greedy Williams top cornerback in the draft Devon, white, maybe the best off the line linebacker in the in the draft class. And both those guys step up greedy has an interception big play and fourth-down they needed a big stop against Auburn and Devon, white, shoots the gap and makes the play in the backfield. So those two guys have have absolutely played to their level. It's to the best players in college football that led you cover this stuff all week long. What do you think LSU where are they in this taking order in the Congo? I think quickly it's more about Stevens bigger than anything else because their offense hasn't been that great. Joe borough is kind of similar to settling, and then they just don't have that many weapons that doesn't matter because they've been balanced there. When you look at the schedule, though, here are some of the. News, it's good news, bad news, Georgia, Mississippi State now van at home, but they have to play Georgia Mississippi State now. Quickly, we could be talking about a whole different scenario. The one thing I would say that this has been very good for coach, oh, some people came into the season. There's no way he can, whether this type of schedule he's obviously started strong. Huge thing is this they have a really good recruiting class coming in. She has to win enough games that says, you know what? With the recruiting class, we continue to build a job or not. Here in Ben, aren't the excitement is real. Coming up tomorrow. Here on get up. "Why would they Ryan? I'm going to just be quiet. Let Ryan here because I know he he and he and booked out. It'd be feel good about those LSU Tigers, man. I mean, you know what? They're doing it still fashioned way. They're doing it the way Ryan and booger and everybody else whoever's played at LSU. Their defense has been lights out for Dave Aranda. So that's keeping them in the game. And they're playing so inspired as if everybody doubts them, and we all know what that can do to a college football team when you feel doubted. And LSU is a great representation of that. And Joe boroughs numbers aren't great. His completion percentage isn't great, but he's kind of plan with a chip on his shoulder. He's kind of plan like he doesn't care, and I feel like his team is responding to that kind of attitude and he's made just enough big plays to help this team be able to come up with some crucial moments to be able to win games. So will it continue? I don't know. SEC west is deep as it's ever been with what Texas am is doing. Auburn is still good team. Mm-hmm. LSU of course, Alabama, Mississippi State. So it's gonna be a tough thing for them to continue this. But man, it's been a lot of fun to watch team feel doubted and just go out there and make plays, especially, you go to Jordan hare. Allburn has a big lead. They got a great defense. There's no way that LSU can come back and win that game and sure enough. They did. So let's keep sitting back watching this and see how long the Tigers can make a run Herbie. Well done. Thanks so much. We'll see this weekend. We always appreciate the time and I want to bring it back to the table here because I'm surrounded by college football insight in the persons of mcshea and Rutledge, but I have to start with you are see the LSU alum. What are your thoughts on what this program is doing? I'm seeing all from Jamal Adams and everybody else just going crazy over these winds. They're a little different for me because I'm old right? And so I. You know, said, oh guys. Well, because when you get old, you start to think a little bit more. And I watched the game in a different way. I watch the game to know that if you don't get some pass interference calls late. If you don't get someone who's opportunity, it's a different finish to the game. What I am excited about is Joe borough and Herbie missed it, mentioned it. His stats aren't great, but he made big throws on that last drive on third down one time on a fourth down, he became the primary runner late in the game. This is a kid who was coach's son who has bought a tough abroad of toughness to this team that they need it at quarterback and defensively two guys that tied mcshea is going to talk a ton about here..

"We are back on, get up and let's take a look at Notre Dame right now. Notre Dame football on beaten this year with a couple of squeakers against teams that most people thought they should've beaten more easily, and we take a look at their upcoming schedule. Here. They play at wake this weekend and the big one at home against Stanford, and then at Virginia Tech. So it's going to get very interesting for the Irish over the course of the next couple of weeks when it's time to talk college football, the man to do it with of course, as our buddy curb to joins us, live on get up here. And so we see the Irish ranked at number eight in the country right now, a very impressive opening win against Michigan last two weeks. This sort of squeak by how good do you think Notre Dame is right now? Irby. I think right now in college football, you've got to be able to play offense and defense or eventually it's going to catch up to you. And right now, after three weeks, their defense playing at home has played inspired. They look very, very good championship worthy the jury's out on their offense right now, they're one dimensional. And would you get away from south bend that potentially becomes a concern like it or not a game like Wake Forest? I know you think Notre Dame Wake Forest. That's an easy win. Be very careful this weekend just like last week against Fandy. You had to be careful and vandy. You could make an argument really could have won that football game in south bend, and now they're away from being at home. So this is this game right now. They cannot afford to peek ahead to Stanford and Virginia Tech. So these next three weeks greenie really gonna find out how good Notre Dame is. But to me, they've got to become more balanced. They got to become better at throwing the football to be considered a legitimate top five top eight kind of team a team that certainly is. Is that right now is state and I wanna ask you about them because so much of the conversation about them has been about urban Meyer off the field and an all understandably justifiably. So, but now he he's back and after all of that conversation concludes he's back coaching the football team. How much of a difference does that make? And just how good is the state look in a conference, the big ten that had just an absolutely terrible week behind us. Well, I I called the game last week against TCU, and part of our prep-work was Wednesday, showing up and going out to state to their practice and urban Meyer was there. You know, he was allowed the practice the last two weeks and allowed to be out there. And if I wouldn't have known any different, I would've thought it was business as usual as far as their preparation. So I don't think it's a drastic change. And all of a sudden urban Meyer is going to be put back in places to head coach to last two weeks. He's been allowed to practice with this team and he's been out there. The players, of course, when the practice breaks down, it wasn't Ryan day that was breaking the team down and the players around the middle of him. It was even Meyer. So I don't think the players are going to blink. I think it's what they've seen the last couple of weeks. I think the bigger issue was really camp and then getting ready for that first week when Myra was not allowed to be around. So I, I don't really expect much of anything that change, but to lane this week next week, greenie is where we really see what state is you go into the white out at night against Penn State and. It's tough to survive that it's one of the toughest environments in the sport and Dwayne Haskins up to this point has had ice in his veins. Even in the TCU game. We'll see if they can go on the road next week and beat Penn State at home, which is always tough to do. All right. Then finally, to the SEC we go because I got Ryan Clark here today and had booger on yesterday. We all know about all the hype about family and Georgia, and Auburn, and all of a sudden here is LSU left for dead before the season began, and they're the talk of the country. How are they doing it?.

"You can see him watching the rush all night. He was scared to make place. He was throwing the ball turning away from the rush and would all now's fails. Let me find my best friend saquon Barkley who plays running back for me. We're in class together in math if fourth period and we also and we also go to physical science together. I'm gonna throw the ball to so that he was that was the high school face. You just saw. That's why this is so valuable. Because if you read that tweet, you might think he's criticizing Eli, but you're really not criticize the team around his front line. The guy was running for his life. Do you know what it's like to be fourteen and have been chasing after you? That's what alive Everett to the math class algebra. Okay. All right. Good. Next one, don't seen it all boys. Retie voice. Tiring at halftime. Now, truly is a new debt. Explain the Twitter new day for it is the part that was most important to me. Like we're in a day and age of people care about themselves. There's no more brotherhood. There's no more teammates. There's no more. I'm here for us. I'm here so we can accomplish something. We are going to work together to be great and that's going. Now you can see with the levian villa situation with guys in the locker room commenting on his money on his contract via Davis, quitting on the sideline before he gets to the locker. What do you do? Say bait. If he takes you say, boo, we bought the leave. She's like, well, I just got buffalo chicken. Eat this. I wouldn't mean we're about to leave. He's, hey, meet me the parking lot. We go. I would have been the one with the buffalo chicken dip and been like, well, let me finish my dip in this. So the because you care about the people you, you'll get teammate. This tweet is specifically for one Mike Greenberg, hey, guys, we jumped the gun in on darnold. He's just, okay. It was the lines that really tricked us Ryan. What's. You say, I shouldn't say the lines that treat us. I could've said it was greeted as of that made me a terrible football analysts. Last week greedy was Jovan around here. We was j e t s jets jets jets chance and Donald storm. Bows guys are wide open in the end zone. He's air mailing them. They're scanning posted, a Cornerbacks running around grabbing. He's running for is like throwing across his body different. What do we can? I jump in on that for a minute here plays he with her, we to it was her. That was it was everyone said the interception was Terrell Pryor sport. Prior acknowledged. Was that we had. Yesterday he signed. Wire is from the old school. He's a better teammate. Devante Davis was that's why he's now anyone is your better. So so here with honestly, here's he was my thought while watching that game the interception that Sam darnold through to start the game. Yes, but it was a terrible interception. But because the game finished away because he makes the past rob Anderson and because you were so darn excited. Yeah, I get over how awful of a decision it was and he's still going to have growing pains. I'm not saying that Sam darnold can't play, but we were anointing him and the jets as Super Bowl contenders at the week one and all I'm saying is wall. Let's put barracks because the Detroit Lions are just really, really bad. Okay. One thing that I think you should do is add to your Twitter bio. "All right. So my advice to everybody is you watch football on Sundays to watch it with Ryan Clark. And by that, I mean follow him on Twitter because Laura, he tweets stuff during these games, and it is fascinating. It is like he's sitting in the room with you. It's so good. You can almost hear you saying it, but you said yourself the reason why you're tweeting because you get bored. I do see need an outlet. I need to know that I need someone to say these things to. That's not necessarily going to argue with me in front of my face. I could just ignore the mentions if I want. So we're going to do something here called explain your tweet. We will ask Ryan Clark to elaborate on some of the football takes. He puts out there during games. Let's start with last night. You tweeted during Monday night football? Yeah. I hear you coach Gruden. No regret on the trade at all. Raiders have no rush. And MAC is all the rush the bears need right now. You're right. Carrie. Yeah, because Jon Gruden is full of it. He's full of himself and he's full of the, you know what? If he says he doesn't regret this? What has happened when you give. Guy, a hundred million dollars. You make him the face of the franchise. So now the ego goes to him instead of understanding that players win gains and he's not gonna come out and say, he regrets it or even say he made a mistake when he knows he did and he's he's been able to call out Bruce Irvin he's been able to call out Derek Carr. What I'm saying is call yourself out because you know, you miss, do you know he is changing the way the Chicago Bears play football, and when I watch him ball, I need go to you and I think of the face because I know you made checking thing. All right. You got the rich for that one. I think we all sort of understood this one, not quite as obvious watching the giants on Sunday night. You tweeted boy thinks he's playing it is the door Newman high school right now because. Is it to a Numa Hassel was the highest food in the world. I'm from New Orleans. This were alive, manning win hate many odeal Beckham junior a lot of time, high school guys are out matched up front. So quarterbacks just running around and try to find their favorite player. That is what he lie was doing..

"Some had minimum risks like chat Oto Seco turn to note. Oh reward. Some had minimum risks like Randy Randy moss that turned into a maximum reward Corey Dillon's. Another point is if I'm blaming the patriots, I know I'm talking about Josh, but you guys are loon to defect at the patriots, aren't gonna be patient with a really talented player, and I'm telling you the rules are going to be different for this guy that they only gave up a fifth round pick for that. They're barely paying anything that has maximum upside. Can they get it very quick take from you on Khalil Mack. I heard Jon Gruden yesterday saying, like we've moved down. He actually said hindsight is fifty fifty, which is not exactly the way I think he meant for that to come out, but one way or another your thoughts on Mack who is just been a one man wrecking crew through two games for Chicago, but kiss Ditka single, Terry, Urlacher Khalil Mack. It's that simple in Chicago, it's the MAC era has arrived. I'm glad you've been watching the show. That's exactly what I've been saying. Right. Actually, actually, I'm not really driving. Because I don't have to stay a lot. I don't get enough to your watching that URL. Today's not the only deficit it said. Because they have an I, I agree with you. My brother, they hit. They have an identity now and I have a comparison for him. Derrick, Thomas, a guy that I I'm showing my age, right? He got a chance to watch him play. Rushing the quarterback, play with his hand in the dirt and play standing up. That's we reminds me I they brought him in. All right. You guys go to your separate quarters, the twenty five minutes till I take. Oh, he's a player. Stephen Smith. Thank you very much. We're going over there because Ryan Clark has some explaining to do. "I respect the hell out of Bill Belichick and what have you. But they are in the business of winning football games and making sure that their organization is up upstanding as possible. We got a guy and Bill Belichick that didn't play Malcolm, Malcolm Butler after playing them. Ninety eight point seven percents of the snaps during the regular season. One hundred percent of the steps in the playoffs in the divisional playoff game against Tennessee in the AFC. Gave his Jacksonville, this man benched him for the Super Bowl and what did we hear? Well, he wasn't feeling well. He was hospitalized and he was late to practice and you didn't play him in the Super Bowl because on that, which I believe costume of Super Bowl championship, but somehow someway you are, you go have the patience of job when it comes to Josh Gordon. Let's stop it. Well, it's just not true. I understand what you come a phone with. Malcolm Butler and I and I like you didn't appreciate how that was handle. But uniquely footballer I think they didn't wanna pay him for Josh Gordon. They control his rice this year and they control this rice next year and they need him. Okay. Tom Brady stone, seventy thirty, seven percent of his passes to receivers. That's the second lowest in the leading. Okay. So they're going to need us productivity if particular Eshelman out. And lastly, the thing that I want to make sure we clarify his, he's not leaving Cleveland because of a drug relent. I understand he's leaving dri Cleveland because of a hamstring injury and. That's that's not. And who really, really, really believe with a straight face that the Cleveland Browns after patients for cheese, let this man go because of a hamstring injury. You really believe that. I don't know. Let me true. Allow me allow me AVI. Wait when hell. What I, what I take that as you have zero tolerance with us. And when you violate that tolerance, whatever it is, maybe Macy minimal, maybe maximum. We're going to part ways with you. That's how I take. And I'm saying to you, the organization itself show if anybody needs to miss them. Okay. And they've been. Four or five years. He didn't help them do anything. But he came in last five games last season. He played the first game this season. Okay. Quarter touchdown pass. It was only reception. He could've touchdown pass. You don't sit up the and jumped ship off of and streak injury Jalen you know, better than that until we hear otherwise, are you? Are you saying anything? Otherwise I am talking to someone saying fantasy, right? I'll tell you what I believe. Okay. I don't believe it was because of a hamstring. What will you have a guy receiving yards per game? Okay. The other guys, he's in the category with Julio Jones, Antonio, Brown, Dale Beckham, Jillian. All of these guys are maximum level players at that position for you. When you have that level of talent, they're going to take chances on, especially the patriots only having given. That's why I think extension you made Stephen a. is the right one, which is to say, I think this is a genius stroke for the patriots. If it works. Fantastic. If it doesn't, they lose almost nothing in it. I see what you're saying that the risk in this really is for Gordon because he goes to a play. Where their primary concern is not his being and it isn't their responsibility, the Browns did they brought him into the league. He was one of them for a long time. They felt an obligation to take care of him, the patriots feel most such allegations. Now, I don't know enough about this to know that maybe that's the best thing that could happen for Gordon. If someone says to look, if you wanna play football, this is the way it's going to be if you cannot handle these, if he can't make it there to quote the great Frank Sinatra, maybe he can't make it any. What I'm saying to both of us that we have individuals throughout the career that have slowed the straight and narrow that couldn't hang in New England couldn't hang in New England. So I'm looking at it from the perspective. This is a guy that has received all the support in the world and still could not hang. So why do I believe that you suddenly go survive in New England to my issue? I think we're under estimating affected New England has taken the chance on multiple players that seem trouble before they actually got there..

"Are we left you with this question? Josh Gordon has caught a touchdown, pass from five different quarterbacks in his career, which one of these was not among them for your man's l. or Kaiser Jalen you gotta guess I'll say his good friend, Johnny Manziel I was gonna guess Kaiser and the answer is. Man sells. Wow. This is a first right? This moment down Jalen. Got it right. Greenie God and. This is what we want. Who the most championships teams often involve how I dress watch amount versus how you see how look it depends on what day. Eighties call. This can never control this segment. The road that might be one of the most astronaut things come high held lake. You good. Not the subject only what were brought up. Mine. That's right. You ready to sign it because you getting deserve. All right, Dave entered the ring. Let's get to the big news of the day. Stevens joins us here, the patriots acquiring Josh Gordon from the Browns yesterday, the Browns get at twenty one thousand nine hundred fifth round pick and the patriots get even a little bit more and the deal. Because if he is an active for ten games, they get a seventh round pick in return which isn't a lot, but it isn't nothing. So Stephen, as we sit back, we look at this potentially enormous transaction yesterday, what do you make of the trade? Oh, a couple of things on a lighter note. I'm very pleased with that blazer this morning. Congratulations on that. That's number one. Number ten expert on this show your guess. I say back to back. I still say what I got need you gotta say. Dictate anything. I said, I liked it. I can't say what it is. You do get back to business and he is Josh Gordon. I don't like it. I don't like it. I'm going to England standpoint from a New England from Josh Gordon standpoint from from the perspective, the New England, Patriots and not in the sensitivity business. And the fact is this guy needs help. Let's call it what it is. We've heard reports emanating out of Cleveland that this man didn't meet his obligations that he broke promises to the organization, not showing up to work on Tom's and things of that nature. Well, guess what going to New England? How is that going to help you considering his issues? That's my concern. I'm looking at Josh Gordon and I'm wishing him nothing but the best. But I don't think the best situation is for him to be in a professional environment like the New England, Patriots who are no nonsense who are not about the business of coddling. This guy clearly needs all the help that he can get. I would love to. I love the fact that he's still in the NFL because I wanted to get a check. I love the fact that he's still in the NFL because I want them to have the ability to take him. Itself and his family. What I don't like is the fact that he's in a situation that doesn't speak to longevity for him because it's going to be very low. If not, if any tolerance at all from the New England Patriots and clearly you gotta give this Ghassem latitude. He ain't gonna get into knowing our spec where you come from an and notable thought. But I disagree because when you're on the worst franchise in NFL, arguably the Cleveland Browns that have won one game the last two seasons. Now you're thrust into the New England Patriots way. I think as a player is going to force him to be at his best. He understands it based on what you just said. This could be a last shot type of thing because from the outside, everybody's going to look at it like they have the best organization. They have the best coach. They have the best quarterback in. You couldn't make it happen there. So for him, I think this is gonna be the opportunity for him to fly on the straight and narrow based on the people that he's around. I respect when you come in from Jalen, but you know the streets because you from the streets of Detroit, just like. From the streets of New York City. We're not talking about an individual here that has acted up. Like let's say, of example, I've colleague here Randy moss..

"Where back and he's back. Carson. Wentz officially cleared for contact will be the starter when the eagles play the colts this Sunday, returning from a multi ligament knee injury, suffered last December against the Rams, here's is coach talking about the return, the quarterback. You've been waiting for this day forever. He's I know for twelve months, right? No, he he has been cleared. He has been cleared, and so we're, we're all excited about that. We're still going to have conversations about protecting yourself as we do with all the quarterbacks, but I'm not gonna co, scared. I'm not gonna coach paranoid. I'm not gonna go in thinking, oh no, we can't do this. We can't do that watching him. You know, move around physically and some of the things he's done. I mean, just. You know he's ready and he's ready ready to take the reins again and move forward. All right. Let's talk about that for a minute. Can't coach scare. Can't coach paranoid. What does that mean? What will they not put Carson Wentz in a position to do the big thing he say it was, we're gonna talk about protecting himself as we do all quarterbacks, and that's what Carson Wentz has to do. Listen, Carson Wentz is healthier than Aaron Rodgers is right now. We watched Aaron Rodgers playing Mike McCarthy not call a scare game, but he has to protect yourself. You've seen people get the ball out early. He's going to have to make the right reads the improv plays the diving for the last short on a four. I down in the first quarter. We don't need that from UCAR said, we want you want you for the long haul. No, some of those things are instinctive. Yeah, that would like as a player, how do you say, you know what? I'm gonna just gonna take that whole part out of my gain. That's part of my game. What you have to. Obviously it's a big part of his game, right? The reason they were so successful early before they got ruling was Carson Wentz extending plays. But that's also the reason he got hurt, and he asked to understand what he means that his team not only. From a physical standpoint at the quarterback position, but mentally and emotionally the mindset it puts you in when you think you know what my guys the MVP. My guy can't get us out of jams, but he has to be available to do that. Doug can't call the game scared. But Carson Wentz also has to play the game from very intelligent point as far as protects understood completely. But let's get a little under the Xs and os what would calling the game scared mean? What? What will he be willing to do? He's gotta just tell Carson if it's not their go down or throw it away, make sure you don't. Whoa, unnecessary hit. I think here's what happens. Right? This team started to evolve into a team naked run RPO and lower. You did a lot with college ball in order to do that. You need a quarterback who could actually run the zone, read a wits was the guy that did that you're not gonna call those plays right now. You're not gonna put Carson Wentz in situations to where he is forced to run the ball. You're gonna. Let him make those decisions on based off of what's comfortable for him and what works for the team. So Doug Peterson understands those things and key. Keeping him out of those must run called quarterback, runs situations. Now, the scrambles the improv, the pressure in the pocket, he's still has to do those things because those are things you have to do to compete as a quarterback in this league, but you can't take unnecessary punishments. You guys notice Doug Peterson's persona in that press conference member. It wasn't that long ago when he was getting all mad at the media because they were talking about the quarterback in preseason, and now he's like, all relax. Yeah, I back legs to listen coaches..

"Here's Tom Brady on Westwood One radio discussing the patriots newest receiver. To make projections and expectations. That's not fair. Never met, Josh personally, just like I have met some of the guys that have come in the last couple of weeks. So we'll see how it goes this week. Hopefully he can work hard with the team. I and end up helping us in any role that he can find himself on the team. Well, thanks, Jillian, Eshelman, lost the appeal of his four game suspension in July. The patriots have made twenty five roster moves just among receivers, sick to those moves came before the patriots released Kenny Britt on August twenty. Second couple days later course Eric decker announcing his retirement. The patriots had signed him to a one year deal earlier in the month. And then just last week they brought in Bennie Fowler and Corey Coleman. The latter of whom was released yesterday to make room for that guy, Josh Gordon so Ryan. Do you think this was the right move for the patriots? We welcome Jalen back in as well. This is absolutely the right move. You understand, you need to get an outside receiver that can beat man to man coverage. Josh Gordon is going to do that better than anybody has for the New England Patriots. Since Randy moss, he has unique blend of size, speed ability catch radius. So he can do some things that you can't coach. He can do some things that don't necessarily need to be practiced in that is what the patriots. They need some non schematic plays made by why receivers. When you have HOGAN and even element when he gets back, a lot of those things are built in to the system. Now you have a guy in Josh Gordon who can win fifty fifty balls who if you have matched up on the outside against Jalen Ramsey man to man, you aren't scared to give him chances at catching footballs. And right now, the New England Patriots will before Josh Gordon had no one like that are there's a word that we use. Sometimes there's almost a catchall on that word is troubled troubled can mean a lot of different things. Josh Gordon to call him trouble. There's not really an appropriate way to describe it. Josh Gordon is from all accounts, a very good person who has an illness. He has an addiction to drugs and that is a major problem. So it's not as simple as well bring him into a locker room that has strong veteran leadership and they'll get them going in the right direction. This is something other than the the trouble stuff that we were accustomed to seeing. So Jalen. How does a team try to put him in a situation because the only person who can solve this for him is him at the. End of the day, how does that team his teammates tried to make that for him? Initially, it happens in a tray. You go from a team that one zero games last year. One game the last two years. So all of a sudden being a member of the New England Patriots who's considered the gold standard in NFL from top to Bonner ownership, head coaching, quarterback. So as a teammate, you look at what the issue was and you just mentioned marijuana, a lot of his teammates if they don't use it themselves, they definitely don't feel like you should be punishable the way it has been an NFL. So they're not gonna look at him sideways and to Ryan's point, he can help them win football games. This actually makes me feel bad for desk Bryant because when I see those roster moves and I see other players getting injured, it makes me think that he isn't gonna play again, but also reminds me of his tweet, right? How he would've looked right and HOGAN, and he has to watch from his couch at this young man now gets that opportunity. So let's face it. It's better. He's better. He's better. He's younger, he's more talented. The other big piece about the locker..

"And we're bring Todd mcshay into the conversation as well here. And I want to start with this question to you. We've talked a lot this morning about this game. I think we went into this season thinking there was a big to in the NFC north of Green Bay and Minnesota. Should we expand that to three Chicago that good? No, they are in just that quickly. Chicago is a team on rise. Mitchell. Trubisky still has some things to learn. This is a new office Matt Nagy, and you saw the creativity of this office, but this offense is not ready to compete with the likes of the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers. And it starts at the quarterback position. You spoke about Kirk cousins and what he's been able to do in Minnesota this year with those weapons. And we all know how great Aaron Rodgers is. This team will continue to progress this. Team will give you some fits and some trouble. But when it comes down to competing with the likes of the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings, they aren't there yet your head mcshea take your best key because that's the move that they may go up there. They dreamed up a spot to get him at number two. And again, it's the beginning of his second year. They've added a bunch of weapons. What do you think? I think he's young. I think he's playing like he's young. I think he's talented and he'll continue to get better and I think Nagy can coach quarterbacks and offense, and I really think he'll continue to improve. But you look at that real that we just showed right there were the incompletions missing targets. Aaron Rodgers doesn't miss any of those Brady doesn't miss those breeze, doesn't miss those. So he's got to get to a point where he's more consistent with the easy throws and then they've got to be able to drive the ball down the field right now. Everything is seven, ten years. I think all but seven of his throws were within ten yards of the line of scrimmage last night. So that's going to be the big thing is starting to expand the passing game, but defensively, it's an awful lot of fun to watch what absolute what MAC is done, and he's just trying to stick. To Jon Gruden. He's always been. He's always been a good player. Try he's doing. He's doing just quickly back to Trubisky. Do you think it's a little unfair because he was drafted ahead of the license to Shawn Watson, some of those guys that he's compared to all of them and Mahomes and the homes. Right. Fair or not? Yeah, exactly what's going on here. He got drafted that high over those guys anyway. So now it's time to compete now it's time to win games. The one thing Mitchell Trubisky doesn't have to worry about is this about how he wins in Chicago is not about legacy in how it looks with compared to who you're drafted to. It's about if you can win games, they've put your team in playoffs. It's always it. Don't forget. He wanted.

Hi hands are begged though my little. Why. Mosey off of that conversation. Let's do a new. Our show. So thank you for getting up with us. It begins with Kalou back in the bears defense completely shutting down Russell Wilson, other new monsters of the midway for real plus jazz. Gordon trade it to the patriots will Tom Brady, and the patriot way be enough for Josh get his career back on track and this afternoon, Red Sox. Yankees. We've got David price live from the stadium on the library and the final stretch of the season get up right now. You've been waiting for this day forever. Skin started. Did you see the game give with on? There's going to be hindsight cans. And welcome back to another hour. Get up coming to you live from above the Heineken river decade, pier seventeen. Continuing greeny and religion rose and Ryan Clark and Todd mcshay is here in Stephen is on his way in this hour. What are you and Stephen, a planning for it to them. We should be talking about Khalil Mack. The last time I checked the bears got an identity, leading the league with ten sacks. They had six last night. He has five, which you think of this comparison reminded me of a modern day, Derrick Thomas. Absolutely. We've seen Derrick, Tom, get five in games. He's one of the best Russia's of all time. Khalil max having that type of impact. Let's add the pictures to the conversation. Here comes Khalil Mack against Russell Wilson, and the Seahawks last night on Monday night football. Wilson had been sacked six times in their opener against Denver and Ryan Clark. MAC was bringing the pressure all night long. Here we are on the second quarter this right now you're gonna see him rain oppressor album. The outside Russell Wilson is forced to step up into the meat of the defense. And this is a huge backup for the Chicago Bears. Eddie Goldman actually got that sack, but clearly the pressure for MAC was a major factor later in the second same score and here comes back again was great about this plate. He's chipped by the tide in then he turns it into a power rush. He gets to the quarterback. It's not enough, just get the sack. He searches out devolve his ball awareness is second tonight in the NFL right now he's not just pressuring the quarterback. He's causing turnovers. Mitchell. Trubisky did not have a great night, but there is a good ball to Anthony Miller, and they say, no, Anthony, Miller is a stood. He was a revelation to training camp for this team. It's why they drafted him where they did. They're going to get him more involved in office Seahawks really had very little offense on all night long. That was the one big play Tyler Lockett in one thousand nine yard touchdown, catch the other touchdown. They would score would come in total garbage time in the final seconds when it was still a game, this was what happened. Seattle was down seven, and there's prince amukamara go on the other way and that basically I stay. This is a great play. You have a running back split out at wide receiver. There's no. The pressure on a cornerback. He jumps the route right away. It's about making the catch, and then you walk into the end zone and suing drive. Second verse same as the first that defense forcing the football out that's treve thin. In this time, daddy surveyed the new robot Smith are going to form a very fast silent silent linebacking corps to add to their foot. You're gonna have to continue with this bears team all year. It threw it off, get the win. Does this defense take and leading the National Football League right now? Those news to me. That's a great. It doesn't matter. The covers Russia covers working together. Yeah, coach code Vig. Everybody goes everybody in. Yes. Very difficult ninety take after last week and this week because we, we used to this when some football games and get rolling. Frustrating star for Seattle, but going back to MAC, how savvy was that answer, giving credit to the coverage and everything else. Team guy, and the bears defense without face to Super Bowl winning quarterback this year Rogers and Wilson, they've allowed them to complete just five of sixteen attempts when pressured for net loss, but fifteen yards..
