"The bakers corner coming up after this let's stop talking but for second and Dylan we discuss off air that none of us are members of cooking clubs but we all know what we would do if we were to just start one what we have some kind of an idea yeah I think I think for me the idea of a cooking club stuff to the cooking book you know you start with the the book and you stop taking a feed from that let's say Julia child the author of French cooking and then say okay let's let's go over those three hundred pages of cooking and for one of many pages L. and this big some recipes and go over that through the season that you and then angel bell has a really cool cooking club going on right now and it's it's that they're going through all of her archives of all of her past episodes and the her everybody in the club is voting on which dish they should make from her show your last meal if you're not familiar at celebrities they talk about what their last meal would be and so it's all these people getting together and making really fun things like fun fatty cake and macaroni and cheese and Isaac Mizrahi's tomato sauce and so they're not in accessible recipes and its people are having a blast with it and she said for the macaroni and cheese even if you're making the blue box after in the club well you know that's I think I told you that so that's how my second book came about was of some ladies that were they sent me a note saying you know who they were and that they were inviting people people over and their job their dinner that night was they all had my Seattle kitchen book in the I had to make one recipe out of the book and that's what they came for their dinner party and that's where Tom's beginners came from my second book was the idea of putting together kind of just fun meals that people people in a little bit larger group would enjoy making Taylor so that's yeah I think to me the coolest thing about the club is a theme you know find a great theme to get people enthused about wanted to cook and wanted to I need that that it doesn't have to be complicated it just has to be a good theme you know what people really enjoy the challenge of making something a less isolated to right yeah what about I mean you could do this virtually varies a lot of people have virtual cocktail parties you can usually do a cooking club virtually what about the idea of the leader of the group or the one who's chosen this week has to plan the meal out of the same book right so you that you don't end up with five mac and cheese is I want to have to pay your own appetizers your own cocktail just like we do with our dinner party series I like the idea that you're all kind of creating this bigger meal together the problem with that is if you're doing virtually as you'll get one one quarters yes Jenner yeah you're gonna have to get creative and figure out the rest of the meal but you suppose you could just drive around each other's house and drop off five of five friends drop off the Apennine whenever there's a wheel there is a lot of things happening you know it's a it's a if you have delivering could be happening you live in the front porch and I mean they can all up and the if you were to ask the Britney to pick a country from which she wanted to create a cooking club meal what is your favorite style of cuisine oh boy I'm such a trashy americana soul but I think I would probably go with French just because to me that that says comfort food as well and you know rustic French cooking big pots there's lots of baking obviously involved with that so I think that would go with a friend she's a Y. lexicon please yeah I need to be not because I'm French but the I think the the method of the Old World of I mean Chinese this is serving to me when I look at Chinese cooking it's so overwhelming yeah it's a range of the lexicon these you might pass you know it's like and it's the same thing in Europe and it's been a passion and the it's being treated as part of life for so long yeah that there is a wide wide wide range of picking you know it's like you can go from simple the simplest thing in the world I like for example a number that you make a competition of who can make a great on it you know we do we would quickly become a very serious challenges you know yeah because make a good omen it is sounds simple as heck but you know what it's not as simple as it is to make a great I'm gonna fix it without the knowledge and with French cooking you really just need better right am I right you need better eggs and why and lots of online actually goes into the food and most of all of these stocks was bred yes yes and Terry was out what about you what country would you jump in on that I would probably go China I was gonna say Vietnamese because you're still so in love with Vietnamese food well that when I say Chinese is because I I think about the when do you know of after so many years of cooking and so many years of exposure to other type of cooking besides French you know to me I look at Chinese as it's going to be the base of the world man it's like this is like way because it has to be starting from there you know somewhere in China thousands of years ago and then he's been able to being you know since then and spreading all over the world whether you goal French or whatever there's always touches of different places like you always mention the soldiers coming back from the wall one of ya coming and bringing back those different things those needs still spices those few things I've encountered you know those have been effected everywhere around the world but Chinese cooking is a it's a pretty serious it's an ambitious program to walk through all of it I let's put it this way I think I need to come back one more lifetime and stuff from scratch and do the whole thing from there I think I'd be pretty fun to do a fantasy cooking club to check if you're going to I met my daughter was so in the Harry potter when that whole thing was out and the idea that you could create a menu I know one of the times at hot stove society for me I had that's one of my classes was dinner with Mr Darcy and I just created foods from the era of Jane Austen to talk about that speak to what those folks might have been eating when she was writing about them though the whole different scenario yeah it's very it's very cool to do a little walk in the past and try to recreate it for today right now we have some people that are commenting life yeah Jim Maurer said he did a virtual cooking club with two other couples every man made threes three courses from sweet potato and shared what we did over zoom so much fun so creative and then RT's Donna that's her name here says are cooking club is Britney's recipes from the kids cooking class this weekend we are going to tackle it Claire's which is a great night yeah and it is Sir technique you would give them money Claire's like if they're out there cooking said don't mess this up by doing don't mess this up by freaking out when it breaks a little bit in the mixer when you yeah when you're adding your eggs it's going to look a little bit messy carry on be brave it's going to come together not so much you drive you'll put the shoe dryer potter sad sack I was gonna say is important people try to use fresh products share so Tom what I'd tell him what that means so that means you've baked your pot issue but then you're going to let them dry out in a lower oven because you're you're trying to make them completely hollow on the inside so that they can accommodate a large amount of face cream which is obviously someone I hate when I bite into a nuclear or a little cream puff is when my Papa she was sake yes somewhere and hold my recommendation is you pick what you make the point that she one day and you leave it overnight freeze and you got your resume and then pull them out and dry them in the oven yeah mmhm do I know if when I go to the are used to go to the die bakery when we used to have a bakery and have fifteen restaurants in downtown Seattle my favorite was the maple E. Claire for the express so we clear those are my two favorites yeah I'm a big coffee a claim that the maple at Claire bart pair at the general manager and I that was kind of our weakness every single day during the holidays at the end of the day we would each take a maple a collapse there's the office and cheers are Claire's and just one line there and wonder why we don't make any money it's a dollar in a maple bar was the grand and I think that because actually okay was so much fun out there I hope you all are enjoying the show I hope you are cooking in your kitchens and starting to really have your garden simple awesome down I know it's Swanson's nursery up by my house there's they're doing drive by orders you have to call in and place an.
