And we're like four and five opening up a stove and then you would see the a the next egg similarly like the next eg is somewhere even hotter than the stall so we rented a fireplace again there so but now we do plastic eggs with candy interest in the yard. That's what we do now. Yeah in the house. It's outside and they're not even hidden they're like very easy to find. I look for eggs was like a two hour experience growing up. Where's the last one difficult to find them. Now they're out in the open. It was so much fun. I'm not even lying. I my last easter back. First of all my last easter egg it was my senior high school like easter egg. Baskets up until senior high school. But i still believe in the easter bunny also. Freshmen in highschool. I mean we were like it was so much for my little sister. Kati was probably four at the time. She's ten years younger than me and so it was like a it was. I had so much fun doing that. Shit i didn't grow up with money. I mean there was money in my family like mine. An uncle that had money but my dad he got he was Was a lawyer and then got his big client. The church of scientology was big clai and they put him on retainer so all of a sudden he had money right so we built a brand new house and built the house and we're already to move into it and they dropped him as their lawyer. We had no money. We didn't couldn't furnish the house. We had like one room was furnished. We had our bedrooms or furnace and one room is furnished and that was it and then like things would show up like i remember getting the kitchen table and being like all right. We got a table. I mean all through high school. There were three rooms now. That had no furniture in them. And you just didn't those rooms you played in. Yeah but so i. But i feel like i grew up with privilege. "Rebel versus grant dawson. That's a crazy fight. That's tough bradford dell and it's fight for granpa. Cranston leonardo fighter fifty five. I don't like the cholesterol re booking either. Let's stop throwing these guys with the grapplers a test. These guys takedown defense. It's not a concern to me. I just wanna see them. The dover matchup was so perfect guys. You can see just not a care in the world like i did do some wrestling Both of them but for the most part they just knew like yeah. We're gonna we're gonna stand up as long as we can Harper lakes figueredo versus. askar off. Maybe as a number one contender fight. any likes drew dober- versus drew. Close what's what what happened to jakarta car. Jaguars got shoved stevens. Who still hurry evens. Now is another fight but so so yeah that's gone And then will is the last one that i see here. I'm sure knowing my luck. All and they're gonna come in after the show you what happens Will says we need to see. Nate diaz vs kevin holland at one hundred and seventy pounds and employer versus gingrich khazei. That is such a sick fight. And i love to see that one. It's just we won't. We probably won't see those two guys. Swear off unless it's like a number one contender fight or title fight at this point. The enemy mike. I love it on. Beat a guys being guys at each other. I say screw it. Just do it but i also there's promotional reasons not to yep all right on you my friend all right well i i'll say obviously the most god like this. This came up at least pro. Maybe a dozen times Addison Rematch of course moreno askerov rematch Figuring pantoja actually was the most recommended. I'm not sure if people forgot the pantoja has a fight coming up or this assumed that he's going to be Brandon roy val but either way there. There's a oh sorry. That was about marina prentice right so again the mixed up. But either way people do onc- figueredo pantoja. Which would also be a rematch. I believe so. They were sorry that was say figueredo versus pantoja to again ed rivers whose mont is just common sense. I've people they're like me. They're just pretending this kobe. Things not going to happen and even probably will belong. Muhammad tana matchups mohammed versus. Lee was probably the most popular one redel. I love the ziv idea. But i think the one that i saw the most was him an diego fajita craig. Krylov was most popular. Pick us off for craig murphy. Chaco again was right. Up there with at asante whittaker to marino ask route two so all those kind of this kind of title fights. People seem to believe there spend stone and i'm down with that. The one most for joanne calderwood as a our show. I like it a lot of sense and he oughta matchups as you said one of the biggest stars from the show Price mitchell pule once he this employee of Doug nasty bracelet to match up which would just be. Oh god the scrambles and the wrestling so So yeah there's a lot of other popular picks. But i'm not going to go over. Everyone just no guys. I i do see you. These kind of overlapped do see you. I will credit when it is time to check the tapes. Should any of these fights happen. We had Someone had us both up on twitter danny denny caps at mule floyd on twitter some good suggestions craig versus alexi Philippi versus may be the chase chairman pocket porta winner on august. Twenty first and And you know what. He called hashtag lazy matchmaking. Phariseeism and terence mckinney. Yeah hopefully mckinney's not injured. Not out for a long time. Because i was just thinking that stop which was so quickly was so quickly so quickly. That stoppage was so quick. Mike that matt for bola could be back within like two weeks. As far as we know. I don't know how he was hurt. And we might not see mckinney for a year turns out that he liked tore a ligament or something that is how that's how silly fighters don't jump off the cage. I don't clai the case. Don't joe it's it's amazing i get. It looks cool. I got you got a quick finish like that. He must've had so much energy coursing his body that he needs to get rid of. I understand don't don't do it because as soon as the fights over that case should be electrified and just just no. I wanted to read out a nice thing to say heartache higgins. he loves the loves. Our post fight work was a little sad last night. Don't worry hot tickets. We'll be back. I'm sure for for another Polls show He said edwards's mon- for onto the next one. But we know dana hate edwards. So it'll never happen. I don't know if he hates them he doesn't he he's not he's not in love with them he's not head over. Heels with a edwards brings to the table on fight night and are all mighty magic mart. Just said it's been a while chaos. He'd love to see Rebel fers ferguson. So they go. He's one of the one of people out there. But i think he's the first one i saw so definitely definitely mike. You're not off track. That's a fight that could certainly happen. at sports london this new guy reached me. He wants the edwards versus He said edward versus burns thompson so he doesn't care winner loser one. He's one of those. Two which i can agree with Though again i'd rather see tunnel flight crew to i saw. The people mentioned this one. As well i remember. I thought you'll forgot this match happen. But it was almost two and a half years ago now so i don't hate it. I don't. I don't think that's that's impossible. And tariffs mckinney versus luis pena. I thought that people were all over. The place for their mckinney picks. Again know it's fine. You would find seven seconds. I guess you are going to get a pretty big joe. Option mckinney i austin mckinney versus comma. Worthy just sounds like all sorts of chaos. That's that's down there. S someone to mention aperture dustin geico abloy versus at burgos I think that's when you mentioned and also the zombie e. j. loser. How did you feel about that one. Like getting the loser of next weekend's made of it i will have you know that my silver had you gone with brad riddell and pick that fight. My backup was exactly that. Oh okay so you doesn't get on the same page. Excellent big diaz vs tony ferguson. I'm fine with that too. I mean i don't love it i. It's it's like a fine like hey let's go the stick a nice trip back to the good old days kind of fight but i feel like maybe as ak the most valuable fighter in the ufc does. Nothing doesn't do a whole lot like it helps both fighters in a at least for the build of the fight but and the aftermath. It doesn't provide the value that they could provide like he provided for leon provided for mazal goner etc I feel like tony doesn't get that same rub at this point his career. Yeah that's almost like a dream fight. That feels like we would have wanted to see that..

Where i remember that being a whole bunch of these dropbox alternatives like came up in the open source world and they work slightly differently and we interviewed a bunch of people about them but that must have been going on for ten years ago now and sink. Thing is the one that kept going and kept getting better fantastic. I have every system and not a revolvers sinks every system but because some of them have smaller footprints disquieted by still synchronized stuff. And i i leave the damon running everywhere even on windows systems. I have sink thing running to synchronize which does present challenges. When you've got following colons in that don't like being synchronized windows file systems but you can get rid of that so it's interesting that you mentioned windows there because looking down the list i think with the exception of sound converter everything that we've picked his multi-platform so none of these applications with the exception of sank are limited specific they see tap into bay applications that also supported on desktop lennox soul lennox. Yeah i'm interested to hear Listeners feedback maybe if you want to send in your three favorite applications that you couldn't live without with a tweet size reason for each one of them and we'll take some out especially if they're different from the ones we've already read out will pick some out. "That's right it's a stalwart sessions able to wake. We end the show with a cheeky game. This week is my turn to host such game by it. Are you ready. Moat drinking hand. I'm writing this. Is the world famous. The sessions favorite twenty questions. You gotta ask twenty questions to me to find out who. I have written down on my pad right hair all you ready. This person is is involved in star wars. He could be in it. They could be an oil whatever off. Forget it. i'm gonna it someone else to do. I'll go get a chance to this crossed out. Didn't someone else right okay. You many my fifty percent. I'll go on roy and this one of the badly wrong. So let's keep the streak going. Might i am ready okay. My boy play the music. And let's hit your questions please. Roy so another star was galaxy but he sit there a man so they might still be right person. Is this person a female nar to be basic. okay roy. so we're not female. Are they in any of the movies any of them. Yes roy so somebody who's in a movie. They're not a female alien specie. No myo yeah now got to my three questions gazer in one of the film. So any of the films roy films. It's definitely on. I know on the loft. It's going to be something on a real. This could have gone today. Do any concept up. No no strike into homes is a fella oh they just in one era of star wars. Yeah in case one of the areas that how that has really narrowed it down actually Fella they primarily. Are they in the prequels. Nar i would say no sequels. Yes a in your nine nine case. So as a bloke who's in a sequels only could be considered to be at least a mall widened stature. Now don't clai fifty percent if you're fifty percent through and i can tell you you're not doing right off you've you've asked the question is a real predicament is like. It's like the last question the would help you. But it's like it's led you down a path right. It's sort of questions now. About bloke sequel trinity's in star wars definitely. Nfl dry okay. Films yet. Vaneau rv in all three of a secret trilogy films no okay so of i in just one of them yeah he does defray much could have been in too. That's true that's true. So they're only in one of the film's roy. I'm going to switch one. What am i. Get a feeling something really. We'd it's not. It's not really weird. Is i promise you. I've just had to say yes on some now to in one of the secrets rarity firms or bloke this i've taken twelve questions just to are broken. A first order no no resistance. Yeah they are they play someone who's in the resistance. Now is an actor name. I'm looking at n- not predominantly woman leeann actor How long you've got five left. It john williams now good gas dominates very good gas. I thought it was going to be than roy. four and you can be mandalorian. max. I'm going to be mad. So he's a not a predominantly noted actor film in the star wars film. Yeah oh Not account be two of them is two of them. Would you mean is just one person. Lie just one pass on this. What you mean. As opposed to twenty july william and harry for that company not. It's william and harry's boys. All i'm going to have to rather down as questions only because three left is it geza. Who's not an actor who is actually in one of the film's oh in the sequel trilogy. And that's what i know. This album gonna kick myself. What was going to be the thing ever. And they were the resistance resistance. That would definitely a human so Human yeah damn weatherwise. I'm sure that you guys are she. Would my with the resistance in one film listening knows this. I've probably done. I hope because the biggest auto level. I'm very sure we're still where we will not really well ten questions ago. The resistant with Mary say i've got to think of one. The box thing down something that you've had to go down because you are something early on is technically right. Yeah technically ross. Yeah oh stop the count. There was resistance and not really an actor. Why do i fooled This why do. I know this Are they in the force awakens..

"This is the children's hour. That was beth gene from self titled cd. And we're talking with dr jerry drag goo the methodology behind the drag institute for the betterment of skunks and skunk reputations. We've posted a lot of curriculum on our website. Just look for the skunk episode. We just have time for a few more questions for dr dre goo. And then we've got a story from bill harley a book review and the extinction. Diaries all coming up kate. You have the next question. What is your favorite species of skunk. And why the species. That i started working with when i first started. I was told that there is a difference. We're trying to find out if is a difference between the eastern spotted skunk in the western spotted coke. And so that's what i got started on but when i was working on my phd actually started. Working with a hug does cokes. And those. I find very fast. They get a long naked dose pass at. They're very much more like effect. I think one of the combinations badger diggers. They can climb. They don't clai like spotty. -sconsin climb up down trees. Cut a scroll like whereas hugged scouts and climb up something but it usually cleansed down like a brick to when it comes down it usually falls we had worn actually had two of born in the back of my truck in so i kind of kept them for one time in one of cleaned up onto the couch. Got up on top of our fish tank dove into the fish. Think we amount of and that was fun but the this bodice going pretty cute. And they're they're. They're the ones that do the stan wait. Handstands spotted skunks. Their natural defenses is to threaten before they spray and so they could get up on their front feet is so they'll they'll actually stand on the front fee and it kinda makes them look bigger. If you're a predator walking up and all of a sudden you see this and if you look at him there got a couple of white spots on the rear end and if you just get a sudden flash it you might look at that as an ice spot or something and so it makes it. Looks like this is a big hit here now. I'm going to back home. But of course it's also warned with the black and white. Coloring is like hey. I'm a scumbag spray. You and your let me show you skunk in uses two hands dead. You'll have to worry about them spraying you. They'll usually dropdown faced with both instant spray. You early on when i started. We have a database where i inner literature and my wife was helping me. She's reading through this article. Instead that spotted skunks could hold that handstand for up to five seconds and we just started laughing because we had one that would come out from underneath our couch. Go up onto its front street and walk around you would chase. The cat jumped up on. Tv stand walked around. Jump off the tv stand. Ready back over to the couch gate. Folks i don't know which part of the story i like best. Is it the handstand. Is it the chasing of the cat or is it just the fact that you have a skunk in your house at all. We're talking with dr jerry drag goo. Yes zen for all the good that they do in their natural habitat. Is there any use for us. Humans to keep them around or should you try and get rid of them. Skirts do eat a lot of pest insects if you have a guard. They're going after the past in new york state around late fourteen or so people who were growing hops one of the state legislature to pass a law saying that it was illegal to trap skunks in the reason being was they were the oil natural predator of a hot beetle. The animal that was destroying the crops was the only thing that would get rid of it. Was he scots and so they wanted to actually protect skunks for that reason. So they do take a lot of inaugural after rodents which could be passed so they will eat a lot of other pests by recommendation I tried to deal with this with a lot of other species. I tried to get people to learn how to live with the animal. Understand it better amid could be very entertaining to watch if you have to make your backyard. If you do have a dog you can hit you. Don't feed your dog at night because that's more like it when his out if you were to get rid of the best thing to do is try to them. If there's a skunk living under your shed. It tried to mitchell Block off the whole way and that forces this guy can move on its own. If worst comes to worse there are some people that will trap these things and help you relocate them. There's a lot more to learn about skunks. We've posted a lot of links at children's our dot org dr jerry goo who is a methodology and the director and founder of the drag who institute for the betterment of skunks and skunk reputations. I will it work on. You were at the newsletter. Yes there you go and of that all right who man and get warm when I do that stuff. Oh this was. This was kind of interesting. I got a note and got a note to follow up with this clip You recall We have a mole inside a prominent lobbying firm in Washington DC Who gave us information about live? Parnasse and his. Yes Ed that Rudy. Giuliani was actually working as a consultant for lifelock and he was hired to recreate that model for left. Parnasse with his. Was it bankrupt guarantee whatever that company and everyone laughed about it. We're the only ones who really had the back story on it. Not that his dad interesting but this is a little more interesting. This happened just a few days ago. I'm here to announce the indictment of Chinese military hackers specifically for members of the Chinese People's Liberation Army for breaking into the computer systems of the credit reporting agencies equifax and for stealing the sensitive personal information of nearly half of all American citizens and also Equifax is hard earned intellectual property now. Do we recall what happened with X. Equifax do you okay. It's the biggest hack ever they stole everybody's data. Yeah but what was? It was an interesting situation. We knew it had to be the Chinese because it never showed up on the dark web for sale because it seems like a mailing list anyone would want to copy of but what was the reason for the hack. I don't remember what the reason for that is readymade the reason I'm sorry the the good point the hack was done through a machine that was compromised because they had not applied security patches. Do Remember that vaguely okay. So that and that was generally most of these tax that was filled out broadly. So here's what are mole in the lobbying industry says Adam our colleagues in the lobbying business specifically at Aitken gump drummed up this indictment at DOJ on behalf of Equifax so Equifax is insurance company would be forced to pay for the losses from the class. Action lawsuit the whole thing he says is fake and I believe it. I totally believe that. Let's not talk about the mistakes we made. Let's not talk about how we allowed your information to be hacked. Let's blame it on some. I'll use that word again. Rondos in China. Yet I guess like did indictments Muller did against Iran does in Russia exactly. Yeah you can do that. That's a new gimmick. Yeah I just like how how that works in. Dc with the lobbying firms. Get anything done as long as you got money China Saudi Arabia. All these guys fantastic thirty Will the insurance company should check into this as if it's a scam that sounds like But it probably was taken to China. I mean that's very possible. Sure sure I have a clip of Your buddy joy random. Am Joy. My buddy thanks? I feel good by. He's.

"Thought about How can you help your kids to be more resilient when they grow up well? This is why I wanted to have Cynthia on the show today. We are going to be talking about. What are some a key skills that children need to learn to develop to be resilient in life and on why family time is actually a big component of of that and so I just thought it would be great to have her on share with us? Why it's important for us to have family time? And what that does in regards to children becoming resilient later on in life and she used an example of kids getting out of bed for school down I personally don't don't run into this yet but I have a feeling that could happen when I have teenagers and she talks about. How just nagging our kids to get up is not going to help them and she tells us another suggestion? That would work a lot better and so I hope you guys are inspired by this episode and I hope that it kind of gives you some tools and how helps you think a little bit different about raising your kids now. Let's go to the show. Hey you guys can you believe. It's twenty twenty. I mean not only a restarting a New Year. We're starting a whole new decade. Which is pretty awesome so I wanted to go over a few things because I know what the holidays not? Everyone is able to listen to the podcast so I just want to go over a few things before we start this show just in case you missed it so if you missed my series on how I lost fifty pounds and ten months make sure to check it out episode one sixty five to one sixty eight and and not only. Do I go for my story on sixty six. I go over the products I use with Kristen Perdue now. If you're thinking I only talk about Doe Tara I do on the show but in the show notes I list out all the other things that I take from the Collagen that I take on Amazon to the protein powder that is very clean. Dairy free gluten free does not have any artificial flavors or sweeteners I also talk about the scale that I use that you can buy an Amazon that connects to an APP which is really awesome and really helped me with my weight loss goals To I'm just trying to think what else if I if I'm just struggling with sleep and trying to stay asleep I list What I used to help helped me with that all things that are not as well so if you just thought it was about Doe Tara there are a lot of things that are not tear on the show notes so go to episode one sixty six fix with Joe Tara? I know a lot of you guys have your oils person. Most people know that and I do like ask him. I guess what their favorite vacation inspire is. And why and this can be with or without kids I well. I live near San Francisco and so we love to go to the redwoods the redwoods and or a yosemite or Lake Tahoe those are areas. That are really beautiful. Better actually within driving distance for half a day for us so I I am. I commend anybody. When you come out here? Rather than going to San Francisco go to our natural beauty near here. Yeah I wanted to go to the redwoods so we were there. I think in two thousand fifteen my husband and I. We just didn't have enough time because we went down to big Sur so we went the other direction gorgeous doing pfeiffer beach and all that stuff and Lake Tahoe Who is on my list? So where would you recommend going into Lake Tahoe though. Because there's there's the north and the south though right right and then there's also the Nevada side so you WanNa calmer you could go to the Nevada side of the lake The South side is where the casinos is our in skiing in the wintertime. Of course so. I've gone a lot to the south side kind of depends. If you'd like to also see go into some casinos Pingo the south side or got it. Yeah Yeah I mean I want to go there and Check it out and on the list but there's just so many things you know So many places to go. Oh so little time okay. Let's get started. How about you share with us a little bit more about who you are your name? You said you're from San Francisco and then we'll jump into how you got to where you are today. Okay so I'm Cynthia Clai and I'm a parenting expert. I've been working with families for twenty six years now and I have a thirty one year old daughter through the trenches. Okay so I wanted to have you on the show because you know. This is the Dana Age with so much technology and distractions that it is very easy to be distracted right and not have the family time like people might have had back in the day and so oh this is why I thought it would be great for you to come on. You know we can start the new year new goals and so I wanted to talk about. Why family time and collaborative live family? Conversations creates resilient children and before we jump into that really quick. I do feel like there's a lot of people you hear like this generation the younger generation ration- they're not as resilient and they're being coddled and they're being you know I don't know maybe spoiled or I'm not sure but there's just things that I hear and I just don't know if we're raising our kids to be able to delay handle things once they get into the real world. They're older so I thought this would be perfect to you. Have you come on and talk about you. Know why family time actually can really build resiliency and why. It's such a big deal. Yeah so I work mark Privately with parents as well and I work a lot with couples and.
Caring for Clivias: All you need to know!
"Going to talk today. A about the plant that I say probably most of America calls and I say Clive via I knew you were GonNa be a live. I say clavier because I remember very vividly one time I was talking talking with Dan. Himes who is a plant Geek from the Pacific northwest and he told a story about One time talking with somebody from Great Britain and he mentioned that he's he said Clive era and the person he was talking to said. Oh I'm so glad you said Clive Eah. I my new Robert Clive Myself. Yes I know. I know. It's named after a Mr Clive. Actually Lady Clive. It was named after the granddaughter daughter of the Duke of Northumberland Robert Clive and a granddaughter was lady Charlotte Florentina Clive. Loop de do anyway like. Why do you say clavier or Clive era? This is a fabulous plant. It is and it's one of the plants that I get questions about all the time because so many people have heard about how beautiful it is have seen its flowers which are outstandingly gorgeous but have trouble getting it to bloom. The way they want it to. And it's very very easy problem to solve given the right circumstances and if you don't have the right circumstances while you're just it's never going to solve the problem. It has very specific wants and needs period. Well so let's go into those wants needs central mentioned it. What ah how can someone get a Clai via plant to boom? Well someone can get a clavier plant to bloom my first of all moving it outside for the summer give it a summer vacation. Move it indoors when it gets to be in the high forties low fifties maybe down even to forty five live. Bring it back doors and put it in a dark cold room that you don't use very often because dark dark. It doesn't have to be dark dark but it just has to be one on that you don't turn the lights on in a lot. So when we were in Pennsylvania we'd put it in our guest room which in the winter I kept closed off and hated to fifty and it would get the ambient light from the windows does but it wasn't getting all that supplemental light from them being turned off and on all the time so the combination of the shorter daylight hours and the cool temperatures are are what not only instigates bloom but also makes that bloom stock rise above the foliage of the plant. Because sometimes you'll get the clavier Avia to bloom at the right time but people complain that the flowers are compressed between the leaves and if they don't have that cold temperature that's what happens. I I got bloom year after year. Perfectly in Pennsylvania here. I can't give it that kind of growing conditions so even though I still love my plant the bloom if it comes at all squished between the leaves and there is simply nothing I can do about that in my current home. Yeah it you want that around fifty a degree temperature. That's number one and You want that to be for about a six to eight week period. Just you know. It's not like a two days where it's going to no it's gotta be extended and the plant will you'll see it. I mean you'll know when it starting to bloom you'll see the bloom spike now during that time during that six to eight weeks around fifty fifty five ish you know temperature and not any extra light. Do you water it to feed it what you do. I don't feed my plants often at all and I probably should so no. I don't feed it but yes I do water it not very much. The clavier has very succulent roots. I would give it some water. Probably every three two weeks when it's in that courtroom Okay you mentioned putting it outside for summer camp full sun parts on shade dappled son. I'd go for Dappled Sun. That's what I used to do a here in New Mexico you would have to do it in shade because being at seven thousand feet. The Sun is just so much stronger but as with any any house plant that you're bringing out for some vacation. put it in shade. I get used to the outdoor light which is so much stronger than our indoor light and get used to it and then move it into dappled sunlight. I'm like one of the comments that I hear about Clavier. Plants Ellen is that they're expensive and there is a reason for this and the reason is this is a plant that For reasons unknown to me can't be propagated through tissue culture interest. Yeah isn't that interesting. And so either you have to take a a piece off of an existing plan which is fairly easy to do to divide but then that piece that you've taken off it has to grow and become a little bit root bound and usually it takes two to three sometimes even more years in order to to bring that piece into bloom. So that means from the growers point of view. They've got to hang onto this plant for two three years before they can sell Ella. You have to be patient. It is so worth it. There's nothing like the brilliant orange blooms of clavier on February worry afternoon. You look at the snow and if you stick your nose right down in those flowers there's also a really gentle fragrance. It's it's a wonderful plant. And yes you're right they are a little bit pricey and you do have to be patient because they don't bloom until they've got a little age on them but man. Is it worth

"Philippines I basically sunk into a depression where I contemplate the just ending it. All because I was literally Getting all the coins of what we she had in Shanghai and with the initial investment from China's Saturday third just to buy one meal a day and Family Mart and Basically it got the point where I only had enough for a flight back to the Philippines or do be there at that I for the apartment we were lease are renting out in Shanghai and basically At that time I basically sat In front of a window and contemplated Should there well. Thanks for sharing that first of all. It's it's very brave of you to do that. But you're here. It didn't jump unless you jumped and you felt like a cat. The cat didn't seven. Unless you tell me have got reflect says then okay so something where the week changed because at that point it. It was heavier than the first time and I didn't know if I had enough in me. Go on but what they did was the flashbacks. And how did you step back. Because you're already at the crosshairs those are. They're very dark. Thoughts that a lot of entrepreneurs go through by this is not again. It's not taboo Abu because a lot of I that crossed my mind but I said first of all the second floor. I probably won't the IT's not high enough right but yeah this absolutely correct and a lot of people for sure. We're listening to this now. Can empathize advised to this. How did you pick yourself up again? One last time take the step back and take the big L I guess so start again in Early twenty fourteen came back to the Philippines. Spends three months of just waking up at night. going to sleep. In in the mornings and basically I was in a bit of a catatonic state. That were calling they need. They need to pay back immediately and I think at some point during the three months it it snapped. I realized that I couldn't continue you in the process of doing this for the rest of my life. Yeah so I got up in picked up the phone in started calling people Clai I investors partners just to set it all up and then we got an opportunity to be part of the Chi- Bruce of society in Los Angeles in La. Why are you getting all these people just to be part artem shady shit here no video because one of the key things about Kathleen? She desk to ask people in the Philippines thing. Oh there's nothing in the Philippines okay. I'm not going to do things Yes in an email to mit professor. It's dead do it ask people in Shanghai looking for a great investment is obviously us go. The license Most people have a mindset that reflects their environment I'm from the Philippines so I believe in the Philippine environment. I'm a Philippine company. What I realize early on was it's easier if you look at it from global mindset set? I'm a global company Global Enterpreneur. I have to compete on the global standard. So things small things like that and how you to act on it it it matters absolutely beautiful. Okay so you got into this Cairo's accelerator incubator. Peter was that now again. You had yeah debt yet be behind you. How did you pick yourself up? And how did shout come into to the table. How did you meet this guy? I A shout comes in that part of the three day I was. I was able to back a lot of the loan from the help of our first investor. We were able to build deduction with some of the existing clients including setup a few case they daddy's in China and Hong Kong. Wow so Things were looking good. I was flying into Shanghai for a few weeks to find the lifestorage investment investment and then going to a that is amazing. That's crazy this is this is not. It's not inspire you because they always say this right. There's there's unique learns centers and whatnot. But there's no shame in being a cockroach startup for now we're proud flying cockroach approach cockroaches cannot be killed. I thought I did that with party. Foul we were eight years living cockroach but eventually eventually read that being genetic that killed us but okay how did you now. Allie how was how was it. Another pivot that did you did not. We just won the competition that resulted in an investment from five hundred startups. You got invested on Daybreak Lore and five under. I'm sorry okay that's awesome. I also got invested on five hundred but here to duty ends fine so basically they took a look at the value proposition. And and then they said okay. We're doubling our investment from fifty to one hundred K. U. S.. God so now I know why you keep waiting. The Startup World Cup was Chica. Literally Jerry all these things from the US. And again what I love about you said said well you said it's the global perspective right. Okay what did you do after you got one hundred game so the SOS guys quickly close to investment. We're able to close within the previously almost A year and half the money within the bank. I always ready set up office and basically I hired a few people and Showers when the first hires uh-huh in Singapore. How did you meet Xiao because again you're in La or Philippines? Singapore would you go to Singapore and whatnot because another Filipino mandate and and also guilty of this a lot is that I need to meet in feel so someone else. You're out there making call to haven't seen the other side of the world and you got their trust. I cannot do that I need to be able at least number one speak. That's my hustle. I don't have a typing game. I thought so. It's all very informal. Anybody those me I said you know that smoking weird how did you get Shell. L. Investor and Miss Maui IRA from. Am Charlotte Charlotte to Maui. I don't remember how I didn't they. All they said something that they observed about me early on Precious Kathleen you have such an innocent face and then innocent manner okay. Anybody you meet can help but Help you that's your charm me. I look shadiest This guy's GonNa find caught me again. He said like you have understand. On what makes you feeling. Basically showers introduced by one of our advisers and he said Showers somebody who doesn't mind getting his hunt grow the worsening that grow at in Singapore. So he's somebody who you can train the head in. Singapore got it so why Singapore this is a very competitive landscape with very big competitor. Show what did you do when you came in Dan. Well context that I just came off the back of No very successful start up. Were you know But basically was to king to say making such as rent though for garages that wasn't so successful and after that I chose to do the tradition. Which is going to accompany the job? It was very yeah it was terrible able. Yeah it was there right Did did offer me. Who Termed Ohio Valley knowing? Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if I see a drug under under the bridge and Clark keyed up there you go along comes Kathleen. We've just very very very different mindset like I mentioned. She wasn't saying Oh. I'm going to do something for the Philippines. I'm not going to do something. For Singapore at that. Time was cousin in fourteen fifteen everybody was like. Oh you're going to be a farce. Obviously on yeah yeah. Yeah Yeah Big came in and I'm just GONNA in a change. I'm going to be the one who changes though not not going to follow someone else right. Yeah so that's basically how I got started off get mainly doing sales. Let's take another raking. Let's come back. Let's continue now to third version. Three more after the rake. And in podcast network Asia. You see the best way you to improve your chances of your start up to become successful is your ability to recruit the right talent to build your core team. I mean there's a saying being that culture eats strategy for breakfast but the thing is you can't create great culture. If you don't have great people now. I was fortunate coaching enough to get this tool. That allowed me to find the best people that I needed in my startups and it's none other than caliber and now the amazing thing about calibers. They don't just give you random people that apply for your job positions because they have the technology to properly screen in match the right people for the right roles. So you won't have to waste your time interviewing people that's not even GonNa make it and trust me just like like how I built. My teams caliber will be able to give you top notch talent. Heck even my interns all come from calibrate mulberry. Happy because the majority of them are productive.

Lauren Bogle bomb here with summer fast approaching here in the United States. We need to talk about swimming pools, and the dirty secret of swimmers peeing in the pool. It's not just gross, according to the American Chemical Society, it's bad for our health research has shown that there are about thirty two eighty milliliters of urine per person in public pools. That's about one to three ounces or about a shot glass full per person to counteract the urine, and other stuff that winds up in the water like sweat Slava dirt, end, traces of fecal matter. We add chemical disinfectants to keep pools clear and clean and keep us from picking up bugs like salmonella and E clai and those disinfectants are doing their job. But unfortunately that's not all they're doing those disinfectants can react with urine, sweat hair, and body care products and other organic matter that winds up in pools and create what researchers call disinfection byproducts or db peas these byproducts can cause serious. Health concerns, especially for professional swimmers, and people who work around pools, chronic inhalation of db peas can cause respiratory problems, such as asthma, and are the main reason for the red burning eyes, you may experience in the pool. And the number one culprit is you guessed it urine, which causes half of the db peas found in pools in the air around them. Urine contains Iria a chemical that reacts with chlorine to form. Trichloride mean the compound that makes a pool smell, like a pool. You'll never enjoy that smell again, it's also the one to blame for I burn and respiratory issues a real problem for competitive swimmers who spent so much time in the water, but cutting down on db peas tough since you're getting in the pool is something almost everyone does. It's just easier than getting out to take a leak and people mistakenly think the chlorine will just take care of it even Olympic swimmer, Michael, Phelps, and Ryan locked e joke about their pool ping, Ernest Blatch Lee, and environmental engineer at Purdue University said in an article in chemical and engineering news. High profile. Swimmers have a real opportunity to take position of leadership. And responsibility, the best thing that swimmers could do to improve the swimming environment for themselves. And for everybody else who uses the pool is to practice. Commonsense hygiene, that means I taking a shower before getting into the pool to rinse off much of the dirt sweat, and lotion, our bodies carry around and second, but most important, don't pee in the pool. But what about the ocean fish p there? So why not humans right? Well, you're in luck. It's absolutely okay to swim and p with the fishes.
