In his first year in office, there was a 25% rise in major felonies through December, but Adams says through the top line numbers, they do not tell the whole story, as he highlighted double digit drops in the high profile murders and shootings. Public safety is the foundation of the city. I've used this term over and over again. It's a prerequisite to prosperity. Without it, we won't feel the safety we deserve. Man, Adams went on to say that New Yorkers should feel better about the direction we are headed. A New York City court has scheduled a change of plea hearing for next month for the man accused of opening fire on a Manhattan bound subway train last April. In a letter to the court, his attorney said the alleged New York City subway shooter Frank James wants to plead guilty to federal terrorism charges, James was charged with several counts of committing a terror attack on a mass transit system, ten people were hurt in the shooting. "The NFL. When you look at PFF and how they grade out this defense, they've given the jets the best overall grade. The big three clearly living up to advanced billing. Quin William CJ Mosley and rookie sauce gardener exceeding expectations there. But they're going to have their hands full against the bills offense that's trying to figure things out as they go. I know Josh Allen wasn't overly explosive in the Thursday night. I went against the Buffalo Bills. But to the bill's credit, they're getting to be more diverse, not just with the passing game, but also running the football. You also saw them unleash James cook with a more increased workload, and even roll out formations where James cook and him Heinz were out there on the field at the same time. You almost believe if you watch this bills team that they're trying to figure it all out knowing, hey, look, we were going to get into the playoffs. We figured we could win the division, but we wanted to play some of our cards tight to the vest before we got into the most meaningful portion of our schedule, December, January, and hopefully a date in February in Glendale to play for the Lombardi trophy. Yeah, I think your main point there and buffalo having some extra time to throw a couple wrinkles and counter punch what the jets did to them defensively makes a world of sense. You go back to that first meeting. The jets just completely shut down Josh Allen and the bills offense. And that was when they were healthier than they are now. Just season lows across the board in both counting stats and efficiency metrics and I'm just going to be interested to see how Robert slaw and obviously Jeff olbert follow up that game plan this go around because there were a ton of things they did that just completely caught Josh Allen and even Ken Dorsey to your point by surprise. The jets morphed into something they weren't and did things they hadn't put on film prior to that game and you look at the first thing was the jets didn't blitz it all. Now they're typically not a high blitz rate team so a lot of things he's got the horses up front to get natural pressure. But everyone had been blitzing Josh Allen because the splits were a little bit better if you sent heat, but the jets only blitzed two times all games. So the four man rush worked extremely well. When the jets sent fewer than 5 pass rushers, Allen was 18 for 33 with two picks and negative 0.35 EPA per drop back in a 48 passer rating in that first matchup. So we'll see. Buffalo probably knows that could be coming. This is going to be the ultimate cat and mouse game here. The other thing Robert slaw did to kind of throw a wrench into buffalo's plans offensively and we mentioned it last week and in passing and didn't realize we're going to be talking about this game this week. But the first thing was in the opening matchup sauce gardener traveled. Leading up to the first bills game like sauce plate 96% of snaps on the left side read played 96% of his snaps on the right against buffalo. It was the inverse. Sauce played 56% of snaps on the right, read 56% on the left. So it kind of threw a wrinkle into where they were doing some things formation only with Stefan Diggs and a kind of created this idea that sauce was traveling with dig somewhat. And then there was this interesting usage of defensive linemen where on late passing downs, Salah would take a defensive end most of the time. It was Jermaine Johnson. You'd have him stand up in the middle of the line of scrimmage about two yards off the ball and rush him that way. And that caused some real problems on those 15 snaps. This side of the ball is just very much scheme driven if salak and dial up something unique again. What's the encore performance right for that? The bill is probably going to at least with this extra time, be prepared for what transpired in the first matchup. This is really interesting to me. Obviously, if you look at the bills, they've struggled in second halves. In most weeks, that's a little bit concerning. I don't know if it's Ken Dorsey thing. I don't know if it's an injury thing with Josh Allen, but they've struggled in the back half. And so I think where this just is difficult for me to assess is what is Robert slot come up with here. Can you throw the last curve ball again and have just as much success with it or do you just have to come up with something completely different knowing the bills with extra time have probably ironed some things out to combat what unfolded in the first matchup. But ultimately, this is really interesting because I envision some jets money coming into the market driving this down and we were kind of I think both Todd waiting on some advantage teasers. And I don't think we're going to get there with a 6 in this morning. We're starting to see a couple shops even trend back up towards the top. Yeah, it was not thrilled. Figured that we could get a move from 9 and a half to 8 and a half and stay in no man's land to help out that teaser window. Alas, we see one shop go to ten. And you see another number of shops follow suit to take it pretty much ten I won't quite say is the consensus right now, but there's many shops that I respect showing tens as showing 9 and a half.

"Double digit favorite in Orchard park laying ten total 43 and a half. The jets can become the first team since 2000 and 6 pane to defeat an opponent twice as an underdog of 8 plus points in a single season. In the first meeting when the jets upset the bills, 20 to 17, they did trail 14 to three. Josh Allen had arguably his worst day of the season, had a passer rating under 50 was sacked 5 times, ended up being the only game without a passing touchdowns for him this year. Zach Wilson, of course, was the jet starter then, change in dynamic there. Sauce Gardner did a tremendous job limiting the effectiveness of Gabe Davis and Stefan Diggs, gave up one reception on 15 cover snaps against that tandem. Matt Milano and Jordan poyer did not play von Miller, however, was out there. Unfortunately for bills fans, the optimism about Miller potentially having an impact when they get into the postseason no longer going to be the case as he underwent surgery on his ACL. The jets, meanwhile, dealing with a flu bug this week in practice. He had a couple of key contributors missed on Wednesday while want to monitor the injury reports on Thursday and Friday to see who may be back out there. Paying the jets move the ball effectively, but if you're not going to score touchdowns against good teams, you're not going to win a lot of football games. There is no doubt that Bill is having extra time to prepare. We'll have a few wrinkles in store to get revenge against the team in the division where they widely said it was the one of the worst games they played as a collective. When you look at the bills defense, good against the pass only going to get better is trivial white continues to see his workload tick up. Have to imagine Mike white could have his hands full if the jets aren't able to turns on of a night loose and allow bam to go bonkers. Yeah, I think you're probably spot on there and pass the flu bug that was moving through the jets locker room another moving part here is could be some cold and rain in the forecast. So something to think about there as well. But ultimately for the jets offense, it comes down to what are we getting from Mike white. The staff obviously trust him. And you can see that in the numbers because the Jets have been far more aggressive throwing it with him under center, about a 7% increase in pass rate over expectation from a neutral game script versus what they were allowing Zach Wilson to throw the ball. The one thing when you look at buffalo's defense, how you attack it is you have to be decisive. You have to get rid of it quick. We know buffalo lives in zone. But for me, this is just a monster step up in class. Mike whites played the Chicago Bears who are dead last in defense of Pacific. The Minnesota Vikings, 28th in defense of pass efficiency when I make tweaks for their game against Miami without tua and Minnesota was also missing cam dancer in the second there. And now all of a sudden Mike white gets number 7 buffalo who's likely better than that because they've had some injuries in the secondary and all of a sudden they're getting healthier. I mean, you've got poyer and trea vious white back. And this isn't just like a fugazi ranking. Buffaloes played a top 5 schedule of offenses. And I think where you start to look at where Mike whites had some of his success, most of the damage is through the air using play action, something we highlighted last week that he'd have success against Minnesota using, and he did. It's just this massive dichotomy. When Mike white throws with play action is passer ratings 53 points higher adjusted accuracy increases, big time throw rate sores. But you can't really play action the bill's defense overly well with how they're built and schemed. I think we broke that down and mentioned it on a Monday night game when they're playing the Tennessee Titans who are also very much reliant on throwing with play action. And when you look last season, there is a data point here. Mike white faced the bills. It went so poorly. We never saw Mike white again last season. And he didn't complete a single play action pass attempt against buffalo last year, had three turnover worthy plays on 5 play action attempts, four interceptions on the day for Mike white against this buffalo defense. It almost feels like the approach has to be Mike white and shotgun, let him see the field, ditch play action in this specific matchup, have white be quick and decisive, find the holes in the Bill zone, take those four, 5, 6 yard passes, and just kind of keep it moving. But there really isn't a path here for a ton of offensive success as you highlighted at the top Todd because I don't think the jets are going to be able to run it. And if you look since week 8, when Bruce hall wasn't in the backfield, the jets are 25th in rushing success rate. And so if you can't run, and Mike white can't rely on throwing with play action, there's some weather in the forecast. Could be bleak offensively here for the jets. The jets defense has obviously done the lion's share of the heavy lifting for everything that this team has been able to accomplish this year. They're allowing 11.1 fewer points per game than last season. It's the largest year to year improvement since the 2002 1001 Los Angeles Rams. Tenth highest pressure rate pain, despite the third lowest blitz rate this season, 27 sacks without blitzing this season, has them tied for third most in the NFL. When you look at PFF and how they grade out this defense, they've given the jets the best overall grade. The big three clearly living up to advanced billing. Quin William CJ Mosley and

"44 at O'Hare, 42 at midway, 43, the lakefront and 42 in Naperville, you're not sure if it report is going to be a ten 18, a news radio one O 5 9. Ron gleason gym Schwartz J hilgenberg back in our Chicago studios and it's time now for bears head to head. Sponsored by great clips. It's going to be great. We are joined at MetLife stadium by Marty Lyons, the jets radio analyst, outstanding defensive lineman back in the 80s during J hilgenberg Zara. And Marty, we've been talking about how scared we are about sex and what could happen potentially in this game, you know about defensive line play, tell us about the jets D line and why it's been so strong. You know what, Ron, the reason why they're so strong is they are rotating players. There are ten deep on the defensive line and they just keep coming after you play after play after play. It's not like the old school where, you know, if you were good enough for first down, you were good enough for second and third down. You know, rob Saleh's philosophy is we're going to have fresh bodies on that defense line. We're going to put pressure on the quarterback. You know, come up with 17 sacks in the last three games, and that's not even counting how many times they've hit the quarterback. They're doing an excellent job. Well, it has to warm your heart as a former D lineman to see how a team is built on the D line, especially, and all those high picks being invested and developed. I mean, that's the other thing. It's not just the investment with the high draft picks, but the development to be able to build that rotation you're talking about. You know what, Jim is also, you know, people you can't be selfish and you want to be out there all the time. Look at Quinn and Williams, he's having an excellent season, but he's not getting 100% of the snaps. He's probably taking 80% of the snaps. The build the team in the NFL that's going to win, you need a good defense flying, but you also need a good offensive line. And I think that's where Joe Douglas comes into play. He's the GM for the jets. He believes in building a team from the defensive line, offensive line out. Hey, Marty, in 85, we came and played you guys. And it was a lot of fun to we were kind of a young offensive line then going against the New York sack exchange. That, you know, we were all in high school and stuff when you guys were out there making the headlines. So I mean, that was an enjoyable time competing against you guys, but looking at this defense that out there now, you're not only strong on the defensive line, it's just you're deep at all levels. CJ Mosley is leading with like 97 tackles and then sauce gardeners certainly make a name for himself this rookie season. Yeah, I think both the J, you know, both of those corners are shut down corners pretty much all scarred and they're having an outstanding year DJ Reed and then you talk about the safety that the Jets have, but it all starts with CJ mostly. You know, he came from that winning tradition at the university of Alabama played for the Baltimore Ravens, came in here with a whole different attitude. And it really is, it's contagious. If you have one player that plays with that type of energy, the other ten guys around, they have to play. And for the first time in a long time, the jets are getting the support of their fans. The fans are coming out and they're supporting this team. They feel like this is a different team than what they've seen in the past. And certainly this late in the season have an opportunity to make a run to the finish line and possibly get into the playoffs. It's been since 2010 that they've had that opportunity. Hey, Marty behrs fans are finally excited to see somebody else dealing with a quarterback controversy since we've been dealing with quarterback controversies for over 20 years here in Chicago. Zach Wilson being benched today for Mike white. Is there a reason why the coach salad didn't go with Flacco? Is it there's a reason why that he went with Mike white? Well, you know, Jim, that's one thing that we'll never know because we don't get to watch practice every week, but I can tell you last week was very disappointing the way that Zach handled himself. You know, he's still only 23 years old and you know he's a young man playing in a man's game here in the NFL and he made a mistake in this press conference and the second half last week they hit 7 possessions for two yards. That's unacceptable and you have a little over a hundred yards for the total game and you end up losing the one thing about rob sala. He's held these players accountable all the way from Elijah Moore who said, hey, I want to get traded. He said, no, just sit down and reset. Denzel mims during training camp. He wanted to get traded. He wanted to get out. So maybe there's something that these players knew were something that, you know, rob solid knew maybe three or four weeks ago and he prepared for this moment and the only one that can repair it is Zach. Zach has to realize that, you know what, you made a mistake and everybody does make mistakes in life and you got to redeem yourself by working harder. And he's going to have that opportunity because you go from being a starting quarterback to now you're running the scout team and if the strength of your team is the defense, well, get them prepared to play not just as Chicago Bears, but get ready to play to Minnesota Vikings next week and a week after that, you get them ready to play buffalo. The defense opportunity comes back. The defense may be the strength, but the offense is totally rebuilt really not only do you have a different quarterback today. But during the off season, I think all these free agent signings on the offensive line drafting Garrett Wilson up high, wide receiver, and Corey Davis is back after being out the last three games injured the kid from whedon warrenville high school. What does he mean for this team? Well, I think he's, you know, he's great in the locker room. He's great for these young, wide receivers to learn from and you know what he runs his precise routes. He's going to if it's a ten yard out, he's going to run a ten yard out. He's a veteran. And I think it's going to open up the offense a little bit more from Mike white. It'll be very interesting to see if they open up the offense at all for Mike white, or if they try to stay a little bit conservative today. Marty Lyons, thank you for the insights. We appreciate it. And bear's time ten 16 when searching for a realtor, search hearthside real tours, stick around, we're gonna hear from our bears NFL insider Kevin fish being coming up next. You've got bears radio, news radio one O 5 9. So my biggest fear is there's

"Of these bridge guys in there and go from there. And duck Hodges is under contract with the Ottawa red blacks for another two years. Oh yeah. So you're not getting duck out of Canada. You know, he's not just going to walk back in there and save you. I don't know. James, would you go like, would you assume that naji Harris takes the leap here and you're offensive line is going to be pretty dang good and then you just you just say to Jameis like we're going to ask you to throw like three times a game so just don't screw it up and you have Chase claypool, Jameis has a big arm, I don't know, something like that, maybe? Either way, I mean, either way, it's going to cost money. Jameis Winston isn't doing one of those saints deals again. I think he showed enough before he got hurt that even he's probably like a 14 or $15 million a year player at this point, right? I don't know. Not for my team, but my team doesn't exist, so. Right. I'm just saying like Ryan Fitzpatrick is like 1617 at this point or whatever it was that he played for last year. If the going rate for that steady mercenary guy. Now that's that market's getting squeezed a little bit because teddy Bridgewater was getting what he had this three year 63. I think in Carolina. Yeah, so I don't know. I mean, we also just trade for Taysom Hill. What do you think, by the way? I mean, I am a Matt Canada guy. You're a Big Mac Canada guy. I think that's putting it accurately there. What do you think? Would you want like, this is kind of baiting you because I know you really like Marcus Mariota, but I see Marcus Mariota as a guy where if you had a highly schemed offense, highly skiing. You could plug Mariota in there and maybe get some stuff going. You know, at least for most of the 2022 season, if you take Mario out of it, if you just had like, you know, sort of mobile traits Y guy X does that intrigue you more than getting a Jameis or a Garoppolo or someone maybe a little more traditional traditional drop back in that met Canada offense. Hell yeah. And you bring on chip Kelly to be assistant offensive coordinator. Or head coach. I don't know, trade Mike Tomlin to like the, you know, just bring like the 2000 would that have been the 2000 12 organ ducks, right? Yeah. Some along there, 2014 drafts of 2013, Marcus Mariota. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I thought Marcus Mariota played really well for the Raiders. And they had him kind of doing the gimmicky stuff by the end, but he was an effective player. I really like that. That's actually like a sneaky, brilliant thing. I hope they're listening to the podcast. He'd look cool in a steelers uniform too, wouldn't he? Well, those are great uniforms. Everyone. That's true on those. I'd look cool in those. Except for every steelers at the game, but yeah, you know. Oh man. And you're all ugly. Ridiculous crime. Let's talk jets here, jets are still in that kind of in between in betweens not quite the word, but I don't think anyone's convinced the jets are on the right track, but there are plenty of signs that suggest that they are and obviously they once again have some money to spend here. If Joe Douglas gets the quarterback thing wrong, that's on Joe Douglas, right? But ultimately, I don't think and I hate, I hate playing the game of like who gets enough credit because credit is ultimately our responsibility. And so I'm basically just saying that like other people who assign the credit are wrong. But I don't think that Joe Douglas gets enough credit for how well he's gotten them set up. I think he has them set up really well. So I think from a GM standpoint, it's like, okay, you know, maybe a messed up on some stuff, but you inherited an absolute garbage fire from Mike mcadam. And I think you're cleaning it up as best you can. You have some decent players on the roster. You got two first round picks for Jamal Adams, who's like just like a bad outside linebacker now. It's pretty phenomenal. Where do they put that money at this point? I guess that's the linebacker seems an obvious spot. I mean, you do kind of look at that Robert solid defense and be like, boy, they kind of miss a Fred Warner here. And they certainly don't have that guy. CJ Mosley is a solid probe, but he's not athletically the kind of mover that Fred Warner is. Great up the middle in the secondary there. So I guess that's where you go with it. But yeah, it's an interesting spot, and then on top of that, I mean, you have so many blue Bloods in the AFC now or emerging blue Bloods. It's just, it's gonna be really sad if Zach Wilson doesn't basically become the guy there. Yeah, and he might not. But I think this will be a good evaluation year. Like if he can swim, I think all signs will be pointing up, you know, I'm not saying I'm not declaring the offensive line fixed when you have like Lauren duvernay tardy penciled in his right guard right now, but I think it's gonna be it's formidable. I think that offensive line is you could put it up against anybody, especially if you resign Morgan Moses. But..

"And dolphins are worse. Bottom third in the NFL and the line yards created. So you have an offensive line that's not getting push with a rookie running back that is not as good as CMC obviously. And then you can't really keep Sam darnold cleat. And you mentioned PJ walker coming in. Whose probably in the league because of a relationship. And he somehow managed to play worse than Sam darnold by a long mile. So much so that Matt role immediately scrambled to say. Sam darnold are starting quarterback. You'd never seen anyone talk about Sam darnold more glowingly and more confidently than probably his high school coaches and the USC staff who recruited him. No one's talked that glowingly about Sam darnold, especially after that type of performance. Matt rule, my thought process was he was hoping to strike lightning there with PJ walker his old buddy from temple. And that just did not happen. And so now all of a sudden the race for deshaun Watson gets a little bit more interesting. We'll see if Carolina goes back in and re ups their offer. Right now the dolphins do have the best offer on the table for deshaun Watson and deshaun Watson prefers Miami. And deshaun Watson has a no trade clause, so he gets to pick his destination effectively. He is discussed being willing to go to multiple places, but it'll be interesting to see if after that performance from Sam darnold gets the Panthers organization to up their anti obviously they've already spent a bunch going and getting a Stefan Gilmore going and getting a CJ Henderson. Now all of a sudden you're tripling back down and trying to get your franchise quarterback, but it's probably still worth it at this point when you have a young head coach and often supporting it. Yeah, you never thought the Houston Texans losing to the Arizona Cardinals 31 to 5 was actually gonna be a win because of what unfolded in both Miami and Carolina over the weekend as far as deshaun Watson and a potential landing spot should a deal get done before the trade deadline that inches ever so close. But as far as Sam darnold, he may still have had last laugh given where his former team was able to accomplish, in New England coming in off a buy, no CJ Mosley, the defense looked absolutely lost. They allowed almost 8 yards per play in 550 yards to the Patriots. Matt Jones probably had flashbacks to his Alabama days playing against SEC lightweights given what he did against the gangrene defense. Not the effort you're looking for off the buy against a familiar opponent. You know, I'm envisioning the biweek a little bit and Robert slob between multiple jumping chess bumps last week. I'm sure it was telling this guys like this is the start of the new season baby. Everything else is in the past. We're starting the new season fresh out of the buy zero and zero. And then Mac Jones in the Patriots offense just smacks his jets defense around for four quarters. And 551 yards on a Robert sod defense that had two weeks to prepare for an offense that played a month ago. When you start to kind of put it in context, it's a very laughable. New England, as you mentioned, almost 8 yards per play. They'd 17 explosive plays in the game, whether it was running or passing. Jet Stevens had no answers. Mac Jones was fantastic. We're starting to see him grow a little bit completion percentage nearly 4% better than expectation. He did a very good job spreading the ball around 11 different players had receptions. Even with CJ Mosley out, who, yes, is the quarterback of the defense? This was inexcusable. The jets literally had two weeks to prepare. For a team they played in week two and your head coach is a defensive minded coach. Not great. Unbelievable not great. Not great at all. I don't know what you do. I mean, I like Joe Douglas. And I think he's made some good moves personal wise. This was not my choice for head coach. It just wasn't. I didn't get it. I didn't understand it. I thought the forty-niners defense regressed, especially in the back half, once Joe Woods left for Cleveland, I'm not into all the raw raw cheerleader type stuff. There's a reason we have cheerleaders. I don't want my defensive coordinator at coach being one. I'm sure he's a fine guy. A lot of people like him, and it's very early in his tenure. We're not going to bury the guy after 7 games. But it's defense is not good. And even when you are talent void, there are still things within your scheme that you can do to prevent big plays. And he's not even doing that. And so it's very interesting to see what this jets team has is a head coach. Obviously, the quarterback can change an entire organization. We are seeing that firsthand with Joe burrow. And I'm not sure Zach Wilson's that guy. But not a ton of sophistication going on for the jets on either side of the ball right now. Yeah, and you mentioned Joe burrow and what he's been able to do the Bengals franchise compared to Zach Wilson, who are still not sure exactly the severity of his knee injury, those two teams will do battle. We'll get to some of those look ahead adjustments in just a second. But wanted to remind all of you, you can follow pain on Twitter at pain insider. I'm Todd for him and you can follow me there. Most importantly follow the podcast at the board pod and pay before we transition completely into some of the look ahead lines and ongoing odds maker adjustments. Were there any things that you wanted to hit on, whether they fell into the good, the bad or the ugly category for week 7? No, I think we can transition ahead obviously. I watched a bunch of the dolphins game. I don't think too is done in this league. I really don't. I mean, he's very accurate. He's just got to figure out how to eliminate some of the mistakes, got a growing confidence a little bit. Ultimately, we'll see where he lands. My understanding was last week that trade was at the one yard line. And then there was some potential possibilities where a third team was going to be involved that third team was speculated to be Washington..

"Partners at bet online dot AG. Some good news for the Patriots on their Thursday, injury report, upgraded to limited participants in Thursday's practice was linebacker Dante Hightower and defensive lineman Dietrich wise, both wise and Hightower didn't participate in Wednesday's session, but they were present for the media portion on Thursday and were officially limited in Thursday's practice. Hightower is dealing with an ankle and elbow injury, so two injuries for the veteran linebacker. Why is being limited by a knee injury, but the Patriots two defensive players, Hightower and wise, trending in the right direction to play in Sunday's game against the New York Jets. On the other side of the coin, three players remain out of patriots practice, that is defensive lineman Devon God shop, finger, cornerback, Jonathan Jones is dealing with either an ankle or a shoulder injury. We're getting some discrepancies on the two injury reports that we get from the Patriots, but either way, Jonathan Jones did not practice on Wednesday was a DNP on Thursday, most likely will be out on Sunday against the jets and the Patriots did sign defensive back miles Brian off the practice squad to the 53 man roster this week, so Bryant could replace Jon Jones in the starting lineup as the Patriots top slot cornerback this week against the jets and rounding out the DMP on Thursday, defensive back Sean wade remains sidelined with a concussion that has been holding him out for a couple of weeks now in the Patriots secondary. On the other side, the opponent side, the New York Jets will likely be without starting linebackers CJ Mosley on Sunday, Mosley is dealing with an injury that has held him out of practice for the last two days. So the Patriots get Hightower and wise back at practice on Thursday. That's the good news for New England, a still lengthy injury report that features 13 players as limited 16 players listed with injuries for the Pats overall as we get into the grind of the 2021 season. "An eventful injury report for the patriot 16 players on Wednesday's injury report 5 of them did not participate in Wednesday's practice session, those 5 are defensive linemen Shaw and Dietrich wise linebacker Dante Hightower, cornerback Jon Jones and defensive back, Shawn wade. Now, high tower and Jones, they suffered injuries during Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Hightower dealing with an ankle and elbow injury, Jones also dealing with an ankle issue 5 patriots once again did not participate in Wednesday's session in 11 others were listed as limited, including right guard shack mason still on the injury report with that abdomen injury now the good news is for the Patriots. Is that running back Damien Harris, who's dealing with various ailments, including a rib injury, was not listed on Wednesday's injury report. That means that Harris is back to being fully healthy. The Patriots also worked out veteran defensive back Brian Poole on Wednesday according to reports. This makes some sense where Jones going on the injury report as a non participant on Wednesday due to that ankle issue. Pool is a slot corner in a very similar vein to Jonathan Jones, so the Patriots might be worried about Jones status moving forward here with that ankle injury. So once again, 5 patriots, dnps on Wednesday, 11 pats were limited in Wednesday's practice session and linebacker CJ Mosley for the New York Jets is a player worth monitoring on the other side or the opponent's side as an injury status in terms of Sunday's game as well. We also spoke to patriots head coach Bill Belichick on Wednesday morning. Very, very effusive with his praise of the New York Jets as you would expect, despite their only win on the season coming a few weeks ago against the Tennessee Titans in overtime at home in the Meadowlands, the jets are coming off a biweek Belichick said that he expects them to have some new wrinkles, head coach Robert sala, to dial some new things in during the weeks himself scouting and make sure that you clean up some things if you're the New York Jets after the buy before the buy in week 5, they were in London against the Atlanta Falcons. So a jets team that should be well rested coming into Foxborough on Sunday against the Patriots team that has a lengthy list of injured players. So we will have you covered completely down here at July stadium all week long.

"You get the socks, leading the wild card. How about Kyle schwarber last night? Doggy. You bombs last night from schwarber, sale with another win. He's undefeated on the season since he's been back. So you get the socks, the wild card, race, going on right now with just a few games left. Bees, in camp, now seize and camp at about a week, so bees and seeds are starting up. The Patriots are in full swing. I mean, come on, Boston sports journal dot com. Their annual plan is 39.99. Of course you get bedard's analysis. Coaches film, weekly chats, all the good stuff, 39.99 on their annual plan. My guy Greg, do we have a bsj member question of the day? We do. And this is a simple and to the point from Patrick pendergrast, pender pendergrast. Too many screens Greg? Oh, I mean, I asked the question of myself too once I did tabulated everything and was like, wait a minute. You know, the ten screens like I kept going through it. I'm like, man, every drive there were screens, at least one, it seemed like. And so do I think there were too many? No, I don't. I thought I thought that a lot of them were really well called. They weren't really well executed. And Josh mcdaniel said in his press conference on Tuesday that they were dealing with a jets front that was very aggressive. Now, they were calling a lot of blitzes, but they were they were zone blitzing a little bit. They were really looping the ends a lot, which was causing some issues in the running game and also with the pass blocking. And I thought that I thought that they were really all effectively called. I mean, even Nick, even and we talked about it on the last pod that play where it's basically like a read option and then Mac Jones looks to his left and he's got I think it was a galore and, you know, he runs a screen and that kinds of hesitated and went for one yard. Even that play, that play normally works, and what happens is normally the cornerback goes up for the screen or he drops back. And one of them is open, either either the screen's open or Johnny Smith behind them on a slant is open. The quarterback just played it really, really well. I don't know if it was on accident. There was another play where CJ Moseley literally at the snap did not move for about three seconds and just happened to find himself in a passing lane. That wasn't a screen pass where there's just a play. I remembered. He literally hit Nick. He literally was like, it was a snap, and it was literally like one 1002 1003. And then he stood up and he put his arm in and deflected the pass and was a scene passed to Jacoby Myers, and I was like, oh, that's there. That's a good play. What the hell CJ mostly doing there? He's not even supposed to be. There was play action on the play and he literally didn't move. So I think CJ Moseley benefited by being lazy on that play or else it could have been about a 50 yard play for the Patriots. But anyways, I don't have a problem with the play calling so far. They're bringing a kid along a little bit by little. The screen passes are part of it. The Patriots need to have those disposal against faster defenses like Tampa, coming up. So I think it's all part of the plan. I've been screaming about more screens more screens the last three or four years, so I'm not. I'm not gonna start bitching now when they start throwing a lot of screens and say too many screens. I can't have it both ways. So as long as they're calling on the screens in good job by statue, CJ Mosley. The new saints one o'clock kick-off on Sunday are the Patriots going to be two in one or one and two. It's kind of a big game early on in the season because the first month you looked at it, you said, the Patriots should likely be three and one. We know week one didn't go their way. So many mistakes, they lose to the dolphins. You probably don't feel good about the Buccaneers game on Sunday Night. So if you want to finish the first month of the season at 500, you need this one on Sunday. We'll see if they can get the

"But at the same time, on when, as we know, is a run blocker first. This is a good grading 340 pound guard. He is a run blocker. So not having too many there for win has to be a pretty big difference in pass pro, especially. And the other thing I would just mention is you want to keep on wedding there at left guard because that's his long-term answer. I think if trend Brown was going to be out for the year. If Trent Brown blew out his knee and was going to be out for the year, you would see the patriot shuffle it up, right? On when you to tackle Harrison at guard. But because they're expecting brand to come back in the next week or two, they don't want it completely dismantled the whole thing just to get by for a game or two, especially one of those games being against the New York Jets. They can beat the jets with your clear Durant and Justin her on playing right tackle. Can they be the sayings in the butts with those two boying right tackle? That gets a whole lot more dicey. And I wanna show this play. Just do it really quickly. And this is just real quick. So this is a third down play to where he throws the James White in the flat and it goes for negative orange. And I don't want to just discuss the back stuff necessarily as much. But I want to talk about the blitz here. And this is exactly what we are seeing over and over again from both the jets and the dolphins that's giving the Patriots absolute fits on the offensive line. So what the jets are going to do is they are going to run a blitz and a stunt. So they're going to blitz the guy from the second level of the defense. And he's going to wrap around the penetration on the line of scrimmage on the stunt scheme. So it's these delayed stunts or these second level blitzing stunts that are really causing the Patriots to have a whole lot of problems because they're just not recognizing it fast enough that that's what's happening. So let's roll the play a little bit faster here. And you're going to see 57 here on the line of scrimmage, I believe, and this de tackle here. Real quick note on 57. Yes. CJ Mosley. Yes. Looked really good. And, you know, he's not supposed to be a free agent for a couple of years, but you know, when we talk about like, oh, players who kill the Patriots, Bill likes to sign them. Yeah. Textbook. If he ever somehow becomes available, text he's gonna be a New England if he becomes available in the next two or three years. Yeah, a good player. So they're gonna slant rush inside and they're gonna cause this line to block them down on the slant Russia and then the linebacker is just gonna loop around and get the pressure up front. So as we roll the play, you're gonna see those see those interior penetrators here and here. These two guys, they're slant rushing, they're gonna push the line that way. And then this looper from the second level, he's gonna come around here and that's gonna be the free runner to the quarterback. So keep the play rolling. You see that. And then you see the space, right? Because what's happening is the right Jack mason. He's being told to block the guys on the line of scrimmage, right? Because there's a disguised look..

"Interviewing for head coaching jobs all over the NFL and I was afraid Buffalo was going to lose Brian. Dave. Well I was like oh man, they're going to lose this guy and he's been a big part of Josh, Allen's development and success. So keeping Brian table is really going to help Buffalo continue in their pursuit of a Superbowl. That's awesome. I'm excited for the future and buffalo. You got the right quarterback for now. They've got their offensive coordinators working really, really well. Got a good head coach got a good defense. I thought of the battle between New England, a team New England team that's bouncing back and kind of reloaded and rebuilt their team from last year and a buffalo team, trying to come back and push even farther on a Super Bowl. Run, Buffalo boss has New England. I don't know who's going to win the AFC East next year, but it's going to be really, really interesting. And then another thing is. Can Miami guess, put their hand put their hat in the ring and say, hey, can the dog? Is pushed for an AFC Championship as well. It is certainly not the crummy weak AFC East that used to be when Tom Brady was the starting quarterback in New England for years and years. now, the Jets, I predicted the New York Jets would go three and thirteen last year, But the reality was even worse than I thought. They went two and fourteen. It was a messy awful year Denzel men's, their second round draft pick at receiver got hurt. He only played about half the year they had offensive line problem. CJ Mosley the exciting New Edition, they made they signed him the linebacker out of Baltimore. He ended up opting out of the season with covid-19 serns. So there was no CJ Mosley after the excitement of signing him and their quarterback, Sam darnold. Sam darnold. The Jets were not able to get them enough. "So you you're just a guy trying to make the team And you have a relationship again. This always comes down to relationships. You're you have a relationship with urban Meyer because of a previous history, So he's giving you a shot. Now, let's not forget it's not like he just signed him. Um out of nowhere. Hey, coach. How you doing? Hey, Congratulations on the new gig. Hey, Coach. You think I can play for you? A sure No problem, man. Right? That's not how it happened. He went and worked out with the with the player personnel put people and the tight end coach. Went through a serious of drills over a couple of days. They delayed it. They didn't sign them right away. They went to the draft. They went through. You know the free agency and picked up who they could pick up and the ultimate said Okay, we still haven't We feel like we got a roster spot for you, Tim. We like what we saw come in, and he's on a minimum deal, and he's not guaranteed to make the team if he if he's good, great. If he's not CIA, they'll cut him in two weeks. S Oh, yeah. You were talking about him because he he is Tim Tebow. But the hysteria on Gua Ching every move that he kept his past. Today. They dropped this one that that's long gone, ever said. I remember And I remember it's about Florent Park. I was this before they moved in. They were up in Courtland jets for training a Courtland for couple years, right? And when they moved from Hofstra, Long Island, and they hadn't yet moved into the new digs, which is over 10 years at this point, and Tebow was there and I was doing my local show from the side of the field. Me and Jodie Mack. You know, Jody Mac picked out a great guy shout out to the Mac man love you, but And you know, Tebow, one of the days it was raining, And that's the day that that Tebow is running with his shirt off If you work, all right, and you got a lot of attention, like he was like I was like JJ Watt at the end of practice on hard knocks. Remember that like that to me was no. Yeah, playing up a little bit much to it like that, that called some heat. I could see all that rub people the wrong way. But I think that this is I don't think the non story B s not look, but samples over here writing like this is Tebow mania down from level 10 to an 8.5 stories written every day. But their stories written every day about every player in training camp. There is there is not going to be national media camped out in In Jacksonville, Florida Watching to see what Tim Tebow that well the whole that I'm going to challenge you on that Only because now I granted the upwards died down 2012 verses 2021 different different world for him and for everybody. I would be stunned if ESPN If the NFL network doesn't dispatch somebody there. I'd be stunned if our own Jason locking fora isn't writing a story about that. He's going to write about no other 50 55th tight end on the depth chart. He'll write one about Tim Tebow for sure, do anything that I'm not sure about because again, the pediatrician's nature of the NFL talent will win out. But when you ran through the You know the process of the evaluation that tight ends coach and then with urban they report they Or wished? Well, we we will never know the answer, but very listen. Tim could have looked bad, and Urban Meyer was still like that's That's my son. Come on you so you don't know. But just because urban Meyer waited a few days or a week to get my contract doesn't mean the Tim Tebow earned. It looked good. He could have looked terrible. But Urban Meyer's throw him a bone because he's looking at him through jaded lenses. Agreed, agreed. It's about relationship, and I don't know the answer to that. And you don't know the answer to the sample doesn't know the answer to that. Yes, ESPN will be there every day. You know why they'll be there every day. Because Trevor Lawrence's their starting quarterback, and Urban Meyer, who was this legend in college football is now trying to be a legend in the NFL. Is it gonna work? Maybe could fail spectacularly. I think there's so much going on in Jacksonville with everything else that Tim Tebow Is like the third most interesting story out of ever that team. They think that you know, all of the jacks will beat writers gonna be clamoring for conversation with Tim Tebow every day. That I just can't see that right? And if they are then shame on them because I think he's that interesting was a person at this point as it pertains to NFL Now, if he's successful, and he looks like a stud out there, then you got to give him his due on Ben. He does deserve that coverage. But if he's just a Knave Ridge player who probably is in danger of being cut, I don't I don't see this being a big story. Think he makes the team I don't. Honestly you don't, huh? I don't interesting. Urban just bring him in to kind of rounded up the intensity. He's 33 years old. That's football is a There's a hard sport on age bodies. I don't put it hasn't been hit. I don't care if you hadn't been playing 12 years, but your body ages. What about even if you're not playing football, your body ages because no reserve in the tank because you sat out go as Lady on Belle. Remember ladies yesterday and then CJ Mosley breaks up a pass in the back of the end zone. He basically rips his groin and they rip off 17 unanswered points. "Dot org's BK. Good Evening, man. How are you? I'm good guys. I kind of caught the tail in there. And I'm not one to go out of my way to disagree with Ben very often because he's usually right and then I like agreeing with him, But I think that Jets roster you named all they're good players. There's like four of them. Right. I think if you were to ask people around the league, they tell you that they have the worst roster of very close to the bottom because you like back then, for sure you got a light. Quentin Williams, CJ Mosley coming back from the opt out, but he's obviously a vet. And I like Denzel Memes. I think we all like Denzel men, especially what we saw up close and personal last year, But after that, who do you like Marcus Maze of free agent? Donald. Maybe, but I don't know. I don't like the Jets roster very much. I don't know if that's how you ended up on the Jets. Like Like I said, I caught a little bit of it. Just say they have some pieces. There are obviously they needed talent if used across the board, But some of that, you know, some of it was also the fact they said a bad coaching staff. Yeah, that didn't like each other from the get go. I don't know if you will realize that And I know you certainly do, Ben and you do Ryan that When Adam Gates took the job and was forced to hire Greg Williams, and he brought his father in law. Joe Vitt, who was basically the guy who blew the whistle on Greg Williams or dimed him out. I don't know the exact details, but certainly let the league no They were together in New Orleans about bounty gate, and then they were all there together. Plus Greg Williams Kid was on the steps. He had two guys on defense That definitely did not like Joe Vitt is an associate head coach. Whatever's job was a consultant for a son in law and Adam gaze from the get Go. You know what I'm gonna work, and then it certainly didn't work on the field either. Yeah, I know. And it's just kind of an interesting thing we were talking about right before you came on about how this is gonna be such a unique free agency period coming up because there's just so many teams. Room Arinc to maybe move on from their quarterbacks. And so we were talking about Minnesota with her cousins in the 40 Niners with Jimmy Garoppolo, and you know the Texans, obviously with what's going on down there, you know, Indianapolis needs to be in a quarterback. At some point. There's just so many teams that are kind of jockeying for position. We might see a lot of quarterbacks just trade teams. You know, it kind of feels like a game of musical chairs out there. Yeah, I always kinda reminds me of the way hockey works right where it seems, And maybe I don't know, hockey Well enough, but it feels like they're just swapping defenseman from team to team swapping goalies. I know they do that a little less than they used to. But it's Kirk Cousins and Kyle were together, right. So maybe the Niners want him and Jimmy G. Gets reunited and in New England back with Josh and Bill Belichick, and so it's It's not that anybody. They don't That they don't like their quarterbacks. They just don't love them, right? And I think I think the case is that where the Broncos are withdrew lock and I know you guys. I'm sure ad nauseum. I've had to deal with explaining the Broncos fans that The Broncos going after Matt Stafford or certainly to Shawn Watson doesn't mean they don't like to lock. It means they like those guys more especially right now, where you can easily make the case watching that goes without saying But that Stafford is a better quarterback today under lock, so it will be fascinating to see. And then there's a report tonight out of Vegas. The many months in your e from the Las Vegas Review Journal says that there's buzz on Derek Carr and I'm sure you've got a lot more insight on this. Ben is far as where's that buzz being generated? And who are the teams? You really want him? I'm guessing are the Colts one of them because of what Arcee said about a veteran vision or who else is buzzing about Derek Carr? Cause I don't think I am, but that's just me. Well, the Bears were interested previously. Okay on that would be one to consider. They decided to run it back which Robiskie and it still hasn't really They haven't kind of figured that whole situation out there, But that was one of them. There are a couple teams and one of them include the Houston Texans. Who you know he would. He would love to play for a coach like that. Yeah, well, I mean, yeah, but I mean, he would love to play for him. He would love to play for a coach like that. Who kind of aligns with his Religious beliefs and religious you know, bringing and things like that, rather than the coach that he's with now kind of dozen. Yeah, right. And so I guess if you're gonna throw another name, let's say Watson is gone. And you're not sure exactly what they do or, you know if there's a young guy, Nick Nick Foles certainly falls into that category, too, right? There was plenty of rumors that he was gonna leave football for the ministry and I think he realizes he can do a lot more with whatever his ministry looks like. With all the money to the Jags gave him and now the Bears were giving them that tens of millions of dollars will help.

"This is a great thing for the NFL, and we're just addressing this as it is because I'm sure people on the Internet are going to to get a hold of it, and they'll spend it in whichever way fits their agenda. But this is a great thing for the NFL. If whatever rules that the league puts in place doesn't work, and it seems like they're not. They've offering draft picks, which I think is a weird way to go about it. But it's what the NFL's decided to do. They discussed doing other putting other rules in place that would Make teams more likely toe hire minority head coaches rewarding them for doing so, but this is completely different. This is a top five quarterbacks saying, I want to play for one of these guys because I trust in their ability. Coach. I think this is a huge positive for the NFL. Even if it goes against whatever the NFL wants to go against. I think it's a huge positive for the league as a whole when you have a player the caliber Up to Shawn Watson, seemingly very vocally, although we haven't actually said anything on Twitter Hey, is he wants to go play for a minority head coach, and that's a That's a a huge step forward. In this entire process. He makes the Jets significantly better. Then what they are. Obviously they were tanking for Trevor Laurence and failed to tank for Trevor Laurence properly, but they put themselves in a position to now, where to Shawn Watson is a possibility to be their quarterback in 2000 and 21, which is not something I ever thought would happen and to Shawn Watson. Should he go to the New York Jets would immediately become the best quarterback in franchise history since Joe Nemeth and I'm not going to dive into the Rabbit hole Lester, who is more talented Joe Nemeth, or to Shawn Watson, despite the fact that it is very obviously Shawn Watson, But I'm not going to take away Broadway Joe any credit from him. You want the Jets a Super Bowl. Shawn Watson would be their best quarterback since Broadway. Joe and the Jets would then go into being a team that you wash because you actually want to see them play good football this entire season, At least when I turned the Jets owner When the Jets came on the red Zone, I was watching to watch them tank. But if the Shawn Watson is the quarterback of their team, you then watch the Jets to see them play good football, and I think Robert Sala was a fantastic higher for them in a head coaching position, they're going to get a few players back. I mean, hopefully, fingers crossed. On the defensive side of the football guys that opted out last season due to the coronavirus in the pandemic. I'm hoping I'm hoping that we do not see anywhere near as many opt outs this season. I think it might still be a possibility by the time we start the 2021 season. But I'm being optimistic and hopeful that that number is drastically decreased from what it was this season and the one guy that I want to see play on the New York Jets defense is CJ Mosley, who opted out I think him Paired with Robert Salas. Should the Jets choose to keep CJ Mosley? I think that makes that defense so much more dynamic and significantly better. And then you have your quarterback of the defense and CJ Mosley and you have your quarterback of the offense into Shawn Watson and this upcoming draft class of the wide receiver position. Is so unbelievably stack that even if the Jets give up their number two overall pick, which is likely going to be included in a trade four to Shawn Watson, you can still get yourself a quality wide receiver in the 2nd 3rd 4th, maybe even fifth round off the NFL draft and you can start to stack weapons around to Shawn Watson and then Hell when you bring to Shawn Watson in the impact that he has on free agency, guys want to play with great quarterbacks and guys want to play with great dudes and dis Shawn Watson checks both of those boxes. He's a fantastic quarterback, a top five talent In the NFL, and he's a fantastic person. No one has ever bashed the character of dish on Watson. He's a fantastic dude. He's a great teammate. So that elevates the Jets in the free agency pecking order. What do you put a guy like him on your roster? It's a no brainer move for the Jets. And if you are to believe the report that we got here from the Miami Herald, there's no price that you could turn down if you're New York. If you know he will waive the trade clause. Throw not just the kitchen sink, Throw all of your kitchen appliances at the Houston Texans and make them say no to you. Because everybody has a price. The million dollar man, Ted D B SC in the nineties, said this on W W we television week after week after week and it has always ended up being true. Everybody has a price. The Houston Texans have a price and you give them the number two overall pick and give them their choice at who they want to replace to Shawn Watson and a very impressive Class of quarterbacks. You get you get your truce between everybody not named Trevor Laurence. You screwed up the tank for Trevor Lauren's New York did. But if you're Houston, you get the choice of Justin Fields. Zach Wilson, Trey, Lance or whoever the hell else you think is going to be good enough to be drafted Number two. Overall, that's hard to pass up. If you're Houston, and you can hit the fresh start, start with a clean slate, hopefully And maybe just hope that whichever quarterback you end up drafting gets along better with management, even though your organization is still a complete and utter disaster on that front. If I'm a Jets fan right now, I'm thrilled. This is the best Saturday that you could hope for in late January.

"Bit about the Robert Sala Hiring from the perspective of the 40 Niners. Lord Britt was on the show earlier this morning talking about the guy I wanted to know more about the fit and what happens with the Jets next? So I'm glad that we've got Brian Costello, who is joining us now and you know, Brian that he does incredible work for the New York Post. He does incredible work for the fan, and you could follow him on Twitter at Bryant cause he joins us now on CBS Sports Radio. Ryan. Thanks for joining me, But before we get you what happens next? I'm wondering if it's since we're on coast to coast. If you could give the listener who's not Invested in the Jets. Kind of a mosaic of what it's been like to be around the Jets organization over the last five years. Well, thanks for having me Lawrence. It's It's pretty grim picture to paint, not even just last five years. Really most of the last 10 years. Yesterday was a 10 year anniversary of the Jets. Leaving the Patriots in the playoffs. That was their last playoff win. They had a game a week later against the Steelers in the championship game and loss, and they have been back. And so 10 years with no playoffs the last five years have been losing all losing seasons. You know, it's just been One bad loss after another. Really, it's hard to think of any truly good good wins in the last five years. Even when they won this year. It was bad because of constant cover, Lawrence so It's just in. Ah has been tougher for Jets fans. They really didn't like out of gays from the start from when they hired him two years ago, and it never got really better. It's just going to get worse with between the fans out of gay so Thursday was a something to see. That was with the jet when it came out that the death of hiring Robert Salas stands kind of university rejoice that it feels like there's optimism and Jets plan for the first time in a long time. I'm not sure how long it lasts for it because the roster still really bad. But there is optimism right now. With Adam Gaze. Look, I went through this, okay? I cover the Bears. And I went through this without him gays being the offensive coordinator with the bears. I think there are a lot of people that thought that he was going to be a decent Head coach. Then he goes down to Miami, and things are disaster for him there. Why did the Jets want him in the first place? I wouldn't. I wouldn't say with the disaster in Miami Lawrence, he went 10 and six his first year with the playoffs. Then Ryan Tannehill towards a CL Mr Entire second year brought Cutler out of the broadcast booth. They went six times. In his third year, they went seven and nine. They were in position to make the playoffs and they just lost at the end of the season. It didn't make the playoffs, so I don't know. He never had a season Worst six and 10 in Miami. I wouldn't call it a disaster. They were locked in wanting to hire an offensive coach, which you know is what everybody thought they should do that. Honestly, the death stands wanted it because Sandar was going to a second year. They were kind of locked into that idea, and I think they don't belong in the coach with experience because they had hired Since since Bill Parcells really, they had hired all assistant coaches coordinators, projecting as a head coach and these guys all learn on the job, and they felt like OK, we can get a guy head coaching experience. You know, it is what has worked at quarterback. This will work out. You know, I personally I think I have it took a lot way too much of the blame for the last two years. The roster sticks I mean, they need players. No one could have won with this roster now should they have embedded into 14 years here, probably, and that's on him. But there's this this team if he was up and down the roster, there's not many players that you like. Okay, these are guys we can build around. Yeah. You described it as more needs than a newborn. Yeah. What This team has right now. So so give us give us a sketch of this. Like how bad Is that roster and with the cap room and the cap space that the Jets have. How do you expect to see them go about trying to make it better immediately. Yeah. I mean, if you look at it, the only body by the end of the season it was the active roster. The only player on the team would ever been to a Pro bowl with strength or the 37 years old. That was a long time ago. It wasn't with the Jets. So that's it, you know, and On offense. They have left tackle Mukai packed in the first round pick from last year who looks like he's gonna be a good player. Other than that there's really no nothing on that team that you're like, OK, I know we can build on this. Gentlemen. There second round pick had some moments, but he was hurt for most of the year. I don't think you can Put him in like that. This is a building block on defense. You have clean Williams there. 2019 1st round pick. You played very well and I think it's going to be a pro ball player. So you have that even the line CJ Mosley, who opted out last year, he'll be back, but I mean, he hasn't basically having played in two years. At this point. Does it hurt 19, so we'll see what he looked like. So, yes, that's what you got. Everything else is a question mark to me, You know, sorry with the quarterback and going from there, so I think You said that $70 million in cash faces projected it is that if the cap is love, that's what the cat comes in 175 million or whatever, 76 whatever is it, The cap ends up being higher, which some people think it might be that the justices even more cap stays. Now, Joe Douglas, flashy did not spend a lot of money, and he had cast eight last year, and he chose not to spend a lot of it. So I'm curious to see this here because the opposite way and the Jets tend to go one year. They spend a lot in the next year. They don't so this would be a year already spend a lot I think he needs to fill some of these holes with freezing, so you can't do all of them in the draft, but he does have nine draft picks. Including you have two first round picks. So you know, he's got to make the right roster calls. That's fine. But there's a problem for the Japs. You told me to paint a mosaic. The last 10 years. They haven't drafted well, and that's what leads all of this. They have traded of the trade away. Their first round picks doesn't haven't worked out or have been unhappy like Jamal. Adam's like It's just there's no one on this team from the 2015 draft is one player left from 16 2001 player left in 2017, so Joe doesn't need to do a better job than his predecessor in finding talent and procuring talent. Do you think you know what Sam Donald is? Or would or would he benefit from better talent and maybe make it a fairer observation? Well, I think I think I do know what it is. I've watched 30%. Donald, I want some practice numerous times. Um, you know, I talked to him. I thought people around him. To me, You know Sam down under the quarterback that you can win with, But he's not a quarterback that you're gonna win because of if that makes sense. I just don't see him in the class of what we're seeing. This weekend. He's not Aaron Rodgers. He's not Patrick Holmes, not the sort of lost him. You know he's not in that class, and not many people are but I think that's what you're looking for. Out of a franchise quarterback out of someone, you take number three in the draft. And to me. Yeah. Sam could be better if he had better supporting cast even better is better coaching. And he will be, but I don't think Sam's ever arise to the level of Get out that the elite guys that I just mentioned I don't think you can get there. I think he could be a serviceable quarterback in this league and you could win some games of them. But I'm not sure if that's what the Jets to be aiming for on if there's somebody in the draft that they think it could be one of those guys. I think they need to move on and take one of them. Well, you mentioned them winning the game that cost them Trevor Laurence and I know that pro football focus has done a piece of Brad spilled Burger did did the peace trying to figure out if there were places? That could absorb the Shawn Watson in one of those places as far as like draft capital cap space, the return of a veteran players..

"Alabama? Apparently not a fan base in looking your face. Hey, was he was a bit of pretty pretty good job in the blind side. But the AFLAC commercials he could use a lesson or two. There is one flaw in his acting skills are not need anywhere near okay what he uses a coach. Okay, This is what is a critic, but the duck was better than he is in the athlete Commercial. We'll use the duck is the star. We all know you know that it's safe, and it's just a cold start when it comes to that, But he's getting star money. I'm sure from AFLAC when it's all said and done when it comes to Nick Saban. That's the most important thing about being championship worthy. And speaking of championship worthy Too early odds out for next year when it comes to Alabama. The prohibitive favorites win a national championship last year. Plus 300 comes in second, plus 400 or House data. Plus 7 50, Oklahoma at plus 7 50. Georgia Plus 1200, Notre Dame plus 1500 texts and and plus 1800. I would stay plus 2200, Florida 12 25 100 sexy supposed 2500. Either way. Ah, lot of the same old same old with the teams we meant, especially the top three with Alabama Crimson, Ohio State being the prohibitive favorites to be in the spotlight again playing for a national championship shooting. Freddy got the top six, You know, and for people don't know what Freddie means By the Plus 300. If you bet $100 Alabama right now to win the national championship next year. You get 300 back and so on so forth. Yeah, This is the way too early. We do it every year, Right Looking ahead, and everyone does every Web sites already looking ahead to 2021 the way too early preseason kind of look, but You have to go ahead. And even with all the departures, they're gonna happen with Devante Smith and nausea hairs. And if Mack Jones decides to go to the NFL, he's a junior Christian bar. Maura's redshirt sophomore going down the list right of guys that Maybe the party. It doesn't matter. Remember that talk about well, too was gone. I mean, who's this Mack Jones guy? He was just the old Mississippi player of the year. You think savings, offering a full boat to some quarterback who can't Chuck it 10 yards. Yeah, What's so? The next wave is going to be just another wave like we've seen time and time again, you know, from marking room to Derrick Henry to both Scarborough to let me go now to Damian Harris tonight, you hear? CJ Mosley Rashaan Evans to Dylan Moses. Me keeps going. Yes, it's the same thing so going But Bam in that college football playoff, just pencil them and year in year out as long as ST Nick is there the team But I do believe Are we too early? 2021 Look ahead, Freddy that will finally get to the college football playoff national championship. Okay, if Lincoln Riley is still in Oklahoma because Word is that some NFL teams are coming and sniffing around in Norman again, and I don't blame them. I'd be more than sniff and I'd be bringing a Brinks truck with me. Absolutely. Especially with the Eagles. You wanna fix Carson Wentz? Have a quarterback was for like that. It. Lincoln Riley is there. I think Oklahoma gets to the national championship game. I've seen them in person against Florida. Ah, lot of that talent is coming back, Led by Spencer Rattler. Quarterback who? My gosh! After the first three weeks the season who he belongs someday he's the next great Oklahoma quarterback under Lincoln, Riley. Watch out for the Sooners next year. I think they're coming in hell Bent, Freddie. He's in Fitzsimmons on Freddie Coleman and Freddie and Fitz Simmons on ESPN radio. The ESPN happens. It's on channel 80. So, yeah. You know, we're gonna be excited. Because we're council..

"Could be a variety of guys at the forefront, including Devante Smith. Once you explain this, his impact doesn't stop when he takes off the pads do that. No. In fact, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say this, but I'm going to because we're on national radio. I actually have a Heisman vote and I was really tourney. I was struggling because if you look at statistics, you look it. Alabama's offense. It's really hard to separate who was the best player on this team? Whether it was Mac Jones with the 77% completion rate or nausea, Harris, who's been a monster and just came off that s E C championship game, So I called people of Alabama and called coaches. I called people around the building. And I said, Who would you vote for? And I'm not going to tell you everything they said. But let me just say Devante Smith. They told me he is the Alfa of this program. He runs this team along with the center, and they are just so good in the building. He's the guy that brings the juice. He's the guy that brings the positive energy. And he's literally about 10 steps away from me right now warming up on the field and you know they call him the Slim Reaper. This kid is big and strong. He may be thin in the lower body, but I'm just watching him warm up and he's doing He's one leg. It hops where he takes a step and then hops high up into the air off of one leg. He's jumping about 4 Ft. Off the ground. The slim Slim Reaper Scott Bounce, guys and I'm just watching him. Run routes jump in and get ready for this game right now on my just dropping. He is a special kid off the field and on the field Well, he's got bouncing middle linebacker Dylan Moses brings the wood He's got the burden of calling the plays and being the bell cow in the middle of that Bama defense, But he also carries an added burden of wearing the number 32. What does that number mean to him? The number 32 is kind of a new legacy that has gotten passed down through Alabama started with CJ Mosley, who you guys remember famously was one of the best leaders, captains and really great contributors on this Alabama team will shine. Evans came in. He wanted to wear it, but he had to get CJ Mosley permission and C J said, You have to represent the position. You have to be everything to wear that number and Rashawn Woz. You guys remember what a terrific young man he.
