You're gonna need a bigger pot each time for slurry than Evans, big story of the day. This is the year song. You're so. Big. You're slower than Evans with this morning's biggest story in Denver sports. Big mistake, big, huge. All right, intermission set through our giants here in a little bit. Oh, we got somebody's actually defending the sun's owner. Sun's owner was in his seat. Joker should not have been there. Don't go into the stands. You won't be in trouble. The ball was in the stands. You pay attention to where the ball is, the owner had a grip on the ball. Come on, stop it. Defend you. You will see some guy thinks that God thinks it was a blatant, hardcore shove, too. Now you'll see moments where a player will go into the stands and if one of his teammates has the ball, you'll see one of the players, and I've seen jokic do this because he recognizes, hey, we've got a potential 5 on four opportunities, and you'll see jokic reach and try to grab the ball away from the opposing player. Hey, give me the ball. It's our ball. We want to get back. We want to go. So I get where his thought process was. He saw a Booker out of the play. He saw a 5 on four opportunity. He sees a fan with the ball. Give me the ball. Right. So he was justified in that reaction. We'll find out if the league thinks that he was justified in whatever you want to call it, but for the sake of the discussion, it was a shove. I know you're rolling your eyes. It was a pat. It was a bit of a shove. It wasn't a show. Well, when you put your arm out like that into another person, you are attempting to not even move them aside. Not even Karen thinks that was a show. If you think that's a show, you are the worst Karen in the history of Karen's. Andrew mason, our senior Bronco writer Denver sports dot com joins us on the Johnson auto Plaza. I will get to plenty of Bronco related stuff. But what was your take on? Jokic and the sun's owner. What should happen if anything to the Joker? I hope they don't suspend him. I mean, I think that's the key thing. I wouldn't be surprised if both of them get fined. Yogesh kind of because maybe they have to buy laws of it and how things are written, but it would be absolutely a mistake to suspend him. I'm sorry. I mean, he's the owner's holding on to the ball. I mean, and then he and then he does put his hand on him before the exaggerated reaction to the contact. I think it would be hard for me to take the NBA seriously if they suspend the optics. Have we seen a shift here, you have sports fan for a long time you've covered sports for a long time. Have we seen a shift in fan behavior that has gotten worse or have players and leagues gotten too soft? Oh, I think it got worse. I mean, do you remember, it was right after things started opening up after the capacity restrictions and empty arenas of COVID. They were a couple of there were a couple of events. I think there was one in the NBA playoff game a couple of years ago if I recall correctly of kind of fans being too involved or misbehaving. I think I would say. As the price of being at a sporting event continues to rise and continues to be there for an average fan consumes more a greater percentage of disposable income than perhaps it did in the past. Then I think we may actually see more of these things because almost like you've got more skin in the game almost right. I think and I think also another thing is that with the gambling people, if they are betting on it and I think maybe you will see some more negative reactions. We see it on social media as well. You remember a few years ago when CJ Anderson was with the Broncos and people were getting on him because he was a fantasy football disappointment because they weren't because he wasn't getting the ball enough and they were still in time with Ronnie hillman. I think there's I think there's something that in the last several years has changed kind of hard to put your finger to point to like one specific cause of it. I think it's a lot of things. You know, Mike and I were talking about your article and just about coach driven versus GM driven and criticism of the Broncos draft by one executive in the National Football League. Just your overall takeaway, what's wrong with being coach driven and the saints had a lot of success doing it the same way over the course of Sean Payton's career with the

"SoFi Stadium, the rams versus the San Francisco forty-niners. Forty-niners won the toss they defer to the rams get the ball to start the day. And to return from Brandon Powell. Cam Akers is in full uniform for the first time since the awful injury. And he's ready. Stafford underneath to acres just into the game in his first game action. Since tearing his Achilles tendon back in July, they thought he would be lost for the year. He healed faster than most wood and here he is. He gets 8 touches and every single time you watch him catch the ball or take a hand off. Your entire body clenches up, right? You're like, please don't hit this guy. Please don't get hurt, but the rams sort of operated fearlessly, and you did not see that hesitation from them to get him involved in the game, which I think sent a huge signal out that this really this was about to be real. Well, acres was miked up for that game. You can hear other players talking about his comeback, almost in awe, including his teammate, Johnny hecker, the punter. Congratulations, man. Thanks. Awesome, dude. Thank you. There's no short of miraculous man. Man, appreciate it. Nothing short of miraculous in Johnny hecker's words. With that in mind, Jordan, can you just put this in perspective for us? Have you ever seen a comeback like this and all your time covering the NFL? Not only have I never seen a comeback from an injury of this magnitude, a full Achilles tear in this amount of time, it has never been done before. No NFL player has ever come back from a full Achilles tear and played and not just participated, but actually played and played hard and played well in a football game, 5 and a half months after the initial suffering of the injury. And it really does signal, I think a change in what we know of about these injuries and what we know about this process. And I think when you saw a lot of players from even San Francisco, approaching cam Akers on the sideline, you felt almost this hope coming from them that even if the worst thing that could happen to me happens, it might be okay, ultimately, I might be able to get back. And I think that's what he represents. I think for the rams too, he has just represented such resilience. They've really rallied around the fact that he has done this thing. They know how hard and how difficult it was. And they are using that as their own motivation. He's back. He did this to get back with us. And now we have to keep going and giving it everything we have because we have to keep him out here as much as we can so that he can experience this after he did this thing for us. Coming up, there's another big hurdle ahead for cam Akers in the rams to try to knock off the defending Super Bowl champs. In Tampa, on Sunday. It's really tough to run the ball in Tampa, but they're going to have to try to at least establish some sort of a running game. And the importance with having cam makers back is, again, you can add that versatility. You can add those layers, very small nuances, very small changes that really have a big ripple effect against an opposing line because they have to adjust every single time if there's a change. Teams have done this against the rams all year in terms of offering an illustrating small nuances and their run game that have really hassled them at times. And now it's the rams turn to try to do those things and try to use those weapons that they have using that explosiveness from cam and the steadiness with Sony Michelle as sort of a one two punch. And this probably will be a much higher volume passing game just based on the matchup. But I would also expect cam Akers to be worked into that passing game as we saw, even catching a pass from Odell Beckham. In the wild card round. Here's Odell Beckham, junior, he wants to throw it. Got Amanda, the sideline. It's cam Akers. And the rams are in done yet. With some razzle dazzle Hollywood style. Gave a 40 OBJ to acres the longest play of the night. And finally, Jordan, the rams are now two wins away from a Super Bowl appearance in their home stadium. When it comes to camp makers, as you had mentioned earlier, there's a feel good element to him just getting back onto the field. But given that he led the team and carries in their last game, it seems like this is already starting to move past that. So can you see acres who wasn't even supposed to play actually being a catalyst for the rams making a run to the Super Bowl? Yeah, I think he's an emotional catalyst for them in terms of, again, his spirit and his joy and his aggressiveness that he plays with is something that is infectious and really something that his lineman love fellow running backs coaches really love. It gives them that extra oomph that extra layer, not just of technicality and the run game that teams have to counter, but also just that personality within the entire offense can permeate and be really, really aggressive and physical if you have a player with his demeanor and the way that he runs the ball. But in terms of production, he is not slowing down. It's very clear that they are going to use him as a lead running back, if not have a complimentary Carrie share with Sony Michelle through this stretch. And a couple of years ago, the rams went on a Super Bowl run after signing a set of quote unquote fresh legs in CJ Anderson, who helped them get to the Super Bowl offering a level of physicality and freshness to their run game that they really, really needed to get them over that final stretch at that time. And it's interesting because it's almost like you're seeing a little bit of flashbacks with that except with a player who was not supposed to even return. And.

"Rams, of course, these two teams have met earlier in the season in Arizona went to LA and Nash a 37 20 victory. That's why they have a stranglehold on the NFC west at the moment, but a rams win would make this a much more tight race down the stretch. As we sit here on Monday morning, Cardinals at home, a two and a half point favorite, a total of 51. How are you looking at either the side or total in this game, which Vegas expects to be tight? And there to be, of course, with these two offenses involved some point to put up on the board. Yeah, so our biggest thinks this is going to be a tight game. I feel like the public has been hammering the Cardinals nonstop. I saw it at over 80% in terms of people backing them on the spread. So it's a little troublesome that the line isn't really moving. The cardinals are tend to straight up at 9 three against spread this season, but they are four in ten against the spread in their last 14 games as a home favorite. So keep that in mind for sure. I'm going to stay away from the spread completely. I just honestly don't really like anything about it. And as we know yesterday, favorites were crushing it, the ovaries were also crushing crushing it. And then in terms of the total for this game, the under is going 5 two in one of the rams last 8 games. So I just, I don't really have a lean for either of those two. So I really think you should dabble into the player props for this one. Yeah, I'm with you. I think this is a super tight line. I think it's hard to prognosticate how these two teams will interact now on the football field versus how they interacted 6 7 8 weeks ago whenever that was because there's been so much change in transformation, especially on the ram side. They've lost Robert Woods, lynchpin, and captain for their offense. They've added Odell Beckham junior on offense. They've added von Miller on defense. They've lost their run stuffer and Sebastian Joseph day for this particular game will be without Daryl Henderson and rob havenstein. They're starting to write tackling. They're starting running back to the beginning of the season. I actually think that might benefit the rams because sodium Michelle at this point, I don't know if you remember when CJ Anderson kind of came on late in the season for the rams in 2018 when Todd Gurley was banged up and he was he made the rams almost a more imposing run game, even though Gurley was way more explosive Anderson was just like ripping off four or 5 6 yards at a pop because he was that short stout bowling ball type running back. And I wonder if and that what that encouraged Sean mcvay to do was to get away from 11 personnel and run more 12 personnel add more weight tight ends and offensive lineman to the field. And that made the rams harder to defend for other teams because they turned into a power running football team rather than the flash and dashboard cup Robert Woods, Matt Stafford or Jared Goff lightened up. So this game is really, really hard, even for me as a rams fan who watches every single snap of how Sean mcvay is going to play given the personnel that he has here. So like you, here's what I would do. If you think the cardinals are going to win, just lay the two and a half. If you think the rams are gonna win this game, just take them on the money line. Just stay away from the spread and take them on the money. Because this to me is a true toss up game. I personally think the Cardinals win. I just think the rams are still in the midst of a metamorphosis that they're not quite done with. Maybe if this game was played two or three weeks from now, I'd have more conviction in my team and perhaps it's emotional hedge, but I just think the Cardinals right this second are better equipped to impose their will on the rams than vice versa. As far as the total, I mean, to me, this is you either bet the over or you pass. When the rams and the Cardinals get together, you have two of the top 7 teams in terms of pace. You have a rams team that when they're on the football field, their games average the 5th most combined snaps in the 6th most combined points per game of any team in the NFL. And my stance is kind of this. I'd be so angry with myself if I, you know, tried to outsmart the data and the numbers and the trends and bet the under and the game went over. If I bet the only thing, I feel like with the I feel the same way as you because yesterday I took three under is not one of them hit and you know I hate photos and you know what I mean? And I never do that and the first week that I do, but I will say Arizona and its opponents combine to put up 51 or more points in just three games for Los Angeles was four. And I feel like you made a great point about personnel and the one other thing I wanted to mention is the rams did not win one game in November. And I think that we are putting a lot of hype and emphasis around them to win the Super Bowl because they had all these pieces and maybe in this game they're gonna be able to use all the pieces in the proper way to finally have a dominant win. Yeah. You're losing the good teams, like Green Bay. 100%, you know what I'm talking about. And I think you make a good point about me talking about that metamorphosis. Each week that comes and goes is more practice time for Odell without Robert Williams for von Miller to learn Sean mcvay's system on offensive for von where he morrises on defense. So again, I do think this is a very, very hard game to predict on side until I think the market is very, very tight, like you. I would probably just yield to the prop market, which I think is easier to take advantage of. You said you had some plays in the market. Did you light what sticks out that maybe you have more conviction than cider total? Yeah, one thing I just want to mention before I get into the ones that I do like in terms of some of the props, the rushing props are actually down aside from Kyler Murray and I'm wondering if that's because Chase Edmonds the last time these two met when the rams won or she's doing the cardinals one, 37 to 20..

"Philip rivers went to coach high school football. And it's team kicked ass for nine to nothing. They're going to be good. I got news for you. I i would wanna play steam. But as someone who's the last level of football i played was in high school. So my fondest memories were grown up my france you get to play. High school. football with people grew up with if you lived in the same city for twelve fifteen years. And it's truly special time and my high school coach was a joke. Can you imagine playing for. Philip rivers the impact that he's going to have ever given year fifty sixty seventy young guys and i don't think enough of these guys. And he's the highest end because he's so famous but right down the street from me. Cj anderson who the starting running back for the denver broncos and when they won the super bowl is coaching monta vista high school. And these a bunch of guys. When i worked at fresno state coach the impact. These people have in high school. Football is truly incredible but with the guy with that much wealth and that many options life. Clearly it's not about the money in philip. Always talk like that like. It's this isn't about the money he plays for the love of the game but to me. His actions show like hit cruelly was not bullshitting to go do that. And the impact. He's going to have and how much fun it's gonna be like it just something that it's hard if you google some of the clips of him calling audibles on the sideline of sending in the punt team of him. Just coaching guys practice the pure joy. He has all these kids. I think back in my own life. How impressionable. I wasn't fifteen. Sixteen seventeen years old. These guys bright eyed bushy tails just watching rivers. Run the offense while these kids. They're running passing drill. It just was kind of pure and in a day and age when the league has never made more money and we always talk about. Who's getting the bag and listen. I i'm just as guilty. Always thinking about. Like how can i. What can i do. What money can i make. What investment sometimes you got be real kind of like a piece of shit have impacted and i'm not a dad yet so i don't get to impact anyone and you see something like that. It just it makes you feel good so sometimes negative stuff going on in social media. Everyone's that's bad person. There are a lot of good people out there. And philip rivers got to be high on that list. Okay.

"Patriots. The rams have been devastated at running back with a season ending injury to presume starter camakers. And they've got a bunch of unknown backs michelle average five point seven yards a carry nine games last year. Pablo does trading for michelle. Solve the rams running back problem. I think it does tony. What's funny about this story to me. Is that lots of other. Smaller moves might have solved it too because running back as you know i mean to me. It's the most replaceable position in the nfl. That's not news to anybody. The rams in particular though are a team that has taken guys like cj anderson off the street and made them viable playoff starters. So they didn't need to do this. So what does it say though that they did do this. It tells me that all of the chips tony. Every possible chip is moving to the center of the table. They could not be more all in on this season. They see even an upgrade a minimal one in my mind at running back they see that as important because they're going for the super bowl we just hosted by the way in l. a. Of course this year there are some people say that the rams should have waited to see who got caught. I don't think they should. I think sony michelle is a professional running back and they know him well and let me get the statistics. Correct here because the super bowl a few years ago he carried it eighteen times from ninety four yards and a touchdown against them. And the guy who beats you was always the guy you want and by the way to your point if they have super bowl pretensions here they might want to get a guy who in three playoff games that year had six touchdowns. I am so happy to hear you say this. Because i normally sit beside will bond. Who's always telling me how the arizona cardinals where he coincidentally owns. A home are so much better than the rams and i thought that when the rams got matthew stafford given the fact they have the number one defense anyway when they got stafford. I i've said on this show. I think they're the super bowl team. I think it's them or the buccaneers in the nfc. Tony which is no slight. Of course to the rams. I think they're just as good as you say. And i had southwick a sham on. Espn daily today to talk about matthew stafford and what he does for that offense. Sean mcvay get this. Sean mcveigh had to read defenses. Four jared goff. That was the issue in los angeles. Matthew stafford is not a guy he needs to hold his hand through. Matthew stafford is not just bringing a giant arm to that offense which makes of course the running back position that much easier to play when that guy is under center he brings a brain that we haven't really acknowledged because he played in detroit. But sean mcvay is so excited about the brain and the arm of this guy. And i think he has every reason to. I'm just going to be quick on this. And repeated again they already have the number one defense in points and yards allowed. And they just throw it in a terrific quarterback for sean mcveigh. Who knows what to do on offense. I think they're real good. I do so speaking of the difference. That a title entitled contention can make tony world champion bucks in the nba. They awarded their head coach. Booed and halts a three year extension through twenty twenty-five so how should coach bud feel about getting extended after so many had him fired during the playoffs. So i mean. I never really understood the amount of heat that he was going to take. But i'll reference wilpon again because we went back and forth during the playoffs with things rather bleak from milwaukee and he just said he said a number of times on this show milwaukee's stupidest team in the nba and he held boot and holzer personally responsible and said if they don't win the title. This guy should get fired. So let's just look and see what happened okay. How bad a job he did. They were down to against the nets. They came back and they won. They were down to in the finals against young and they came back and they sweat. Phoenix win superstars. I'm told all the time devon booker and chris paul. They swept them in the last four games of the finals. Boot meltzer had to have something to do with this. Yes look in. We'll bonds defense if kevin durant foot is one centimetre behind the three point line instead of directly on it his call and boot and hope you're getting fired may have come true and no one would have really complained what you're right about. I finals in particular tony. Because what he did was. Adjust the knock on. Mike and holzer was that he doesn't adjust he doesn't do the switching defense. He doesn't bench brook lopez. He doesn't play janas at the five. He doesn't play a starters enough he did all of that and it got him a title and the biggest knock on booed holzer honestly for being real about. This is that his appearance. Is that of a guy who just woke up on his couch at three. Am because he's afraid of getting yelled at for taking the trash out by his wife. He looked rumpled and a mess with that. Same dude was in total control. And i have to applaud them for that. Yeah let me say again. He won people will say oh he had onto to quimpo philadelphia. Had embiid data didn't win denver. They didn't win. This guy went out there and delivered. I'm not saying he's the greatest coach in the world. But he's got a ring other people at the moment and.

"Would bring to. This football team is when the run game is dominant can you still dominate through. The air and matthew stafford has the ability to do that. Now listen i wanna use them. I want to choose my words properly here with this whole maker situation because a huge fan of his mean a mention the scheme come transition from really zone to gap. I don't wanna say this could be a blessing in disguise. But it's something along those lines. Because i really believe that they need to go back to more of that zone run game. I think they need to keep the quarterback under center and they need to utilize that play action deep ball and chunk passing game off the zone inside and outside game and schefty mentions well. We might not see those names as household names. I've played in this system. A lot of people didn't know throw davis says a household name or arian foster slayton a rahim. Moster or arthur morris but those guys played in that zone schemes and this scheme transcends talent. It makes the player elevators. And that's why. I think that this could force sean. Sit back and go okay. I got a superstar at quarterback. I got good pieces on the outside. Maybe i'll pull back a little bit from that. That gap scheme. Lean into the zone a little bit more. Help our pass game but also be able to just plug in backs and no ino- in that zone game that it's proven so essentially what you're saying. Let's just run a back to twenty eighteen. Because matt stafford would be a great fit for that often not exactly but a lot of things. We saw that. They were so successful with integrate stafford. And now you've got a deep threat with jackson or at with you didn't have last season and suddenly the game opens up to him because he has the personnel executed. It as he initially wanted to. Everybody on twitter has made this point go ahead. Dan real quick field at this point before the call. And i think it's important one as well that those backs because of the lack of the threatened pass game had to run against stack box right an extra defender near the down near the bullet now hopefully flips and that pass game opens defense is up a little bit and those backs there'll henderson specifically are gonna run against less people. Down near the line of scrimmage. That's it also helped the run game and let me just say this. Also feel that the rams offense this robbins once lost todd gurley at the peak of his career sign. Shane waldron either new offensive coordinator. How can his scheme help. Russell wilson to succeed this year. I tyler and like to say we have a lot to talk about in the season like today. Talk about making direct to me straight to my heart. Cyber offense as you said under waldron can evolve because a big part of the reason. Why russell wilson reportedly unhappy with some of the issues with that offense down the second half of last season and a lot.

"I I would be more willing to just back up the Brinks truck of picks and money for a guy like Watson that has more upside, um or unknown than than the known in a Stafford in Orion. Um Jared Golf now, you know, just a few years removed from the Super Bowl. And this is why this offseason gonna be crazy in the NFL fans. We're gonna lose our minds because it's just gonna be like what? Who went where he got traded But golf. You know you look, it is his touchdown passes and you go Okay since being picked first overall since 20 1617 he's 55 picks. Um 69 career regular season games in a couple of Pro Bowls. Problem is Tyler in the playoffs. He's not being good. So now there are rumors about golf and the Rams entertaining ideas about trading Jared Golf. Which is going to be difficult given that cap hit and the Rams are there. They're doing their part. I mean, they're making it very clear and they have been for a while that they're not that happy with your dog. They would like to move on from Jared Dogs, but you're given the market and given the quarterbacks that are kind of be available. The trade free agency, the draft I'm not so sure Team's gonna be in a rush to take that money. And you know what shocks me with that whole situation. Is Cha McVeigh. And unless the state I mean they're they're rhetoric out of it is Is pretty shocking. I mean, I don't know. Like I get it the graces genius. He's a genius like cutting that you better but maybe not like they made me E. He was embarrassed in the Super Bowl. By Bill Bala checks they couldn't move the ball. I mean, they came out and it was like they were living in their huddle. And what was the reaction to that? I I've heard that, you know, Defensive players air calling out their plays, you know, before the snap. Um that's an indictment of big data was an indictment of Jericho off You branded cooks was such an important chest piece in that offense. You lose him. Got girly move on from him. I don't know, like I'm not so sure that we should all just point the finger at the quarterback and your golf and say is terrible In the days of genius like I know that's what we're trained to think and social media. But I think we do have to kind of re frame that narrative in that argument. Wonder Okay. Maybe Chama today. Isn't that brilliant genius that we all thought he was? Because for some reason, all these players he had there either pushing them out or they're just not there anymore. And yeah, they're not. They're not the same juggernaut they once were. Tyler down our guest guys at CBS Sports Radio Karl Dixon today Tyler again creative go long tv dot com. So who got the best coaching high? Let let's let's write these coaching hires. Okay, um, in your opinion. Where where we start, We start with the Jets. Okay, they get Robert solid. And you know, he was a guy the interview for a variety of jobs. I just think the Jets culture has been bad. And even though solid might be the right guy. Is the front office going to act, right? Is the front office gonna do their part? To turn this thing around. That's a really bad situation there. I mean, you do wonder if is a coach. Any coat really going to be able to step in there and fix what's wrong? I don't I don't think so. I don't even always start. You gotta figure out what she what you got in Sam. Donald. What you're gonna do a quarterback? I mean, I kind of jumped the gun. I guess the one coach fire that I love And at first I didn't because not a lot of college coaches have made that leap and been successful. But Urban Meyer in Jacksonville, Man. I mean, That's what a situation to walk into with that with that money to spend with those picks Trevor Laurence. They've got some young talent they really do. James Robinson DJs shark. Josh, Alan and G End on the other side of the ball that they've got some pieces and CJ Anderson the corner. I feel like if a former college coat Can make the leap from, you know, controlling the program and being like a father to kids to know coaching adults. It's a weird transition that not a lot. A lot of guys can make, you know. Look at next seven in Miami, Billy Urban Meyer can do it because The situation he's inherited. It is man. I didn't ask for a better situation s. So I guess you didn't like the Dan Campbell. We're gonna but your kneecaps off and kick you in the ankles. You didn't like that. I I loved it. I loved. You know what it's one of those is like nothing else. Get yourself your water. It's just, you know, it's got punching. You need flapping your knee. It's amazing, but then Your head coach and your maybe you don't love it as much anymore, Tyler, Man Appreciate you stopping by today. Good stuff. It's gonna be a lot of fun Super Bowl next week. We'll keep an eye out on what's going on all off season and make sure you follow him. Tyler, don't appreciate you coming on, man. Thanks so much for having me anytime. Absolutely. Hey, Quick reminder..
CBS Sports Radio
C.J. Anderson says Todd Gurley was 'more hurt than what we thought' when he signed with the Rams
"Then we go out to Los Angeles and interesting a little bit of clarity surrounding the Rams and Todd Gurley. And you know, listen, we set at the time after the NFC championship game. And certainly with the lack of use in the Super Bowl. Even though there was the great smokescreen at the Todd Gurley was a great get a tremendous work in the Rams and were telling everybody that that he was. That was surrounded at game being a CBS event as we saw it that it's going to get his normal workload he didn't. And now we have a little bit of clarity is a C J Anderson attitude yesterday TASR by basically, saying, no, sir. Uncertain terms that you know, he was brought in Gurley was hurt worse than they initially thought. He was. L, and I've talked about this a lot as you said when this was going on in a poll season what NFC championship the Super Bowl and all this jazz. Girly weren't getting a lot of burn, you know. And I I'm not confused. But it's interesting to me that C J Anderson would say this publicly what a cameras face when you. Show McVeigh wouldn't say this like nobody else's was saying this after the Super Bowl after you've got your rear end kicked by the pats. Nobody was saying this about growing and that for him to say, I have no beef would CJ innocent. I'm just confused. Like, why wouldn't it's more about McVay? Why wouldn't the head coach status or the organization or Todd Todd Gurley? I understand you want to make it look like an excuse. I got from the athletes perspective. I think that's it. But usually the head coach will take the heat. He'll he'll sort of the athlete doesn't look soft. But let me say it. How do you come out after you told Gurley was said tell tell everyone all week long thou Gurley was healthy. Then how do you after the game? Then say he was what you gotta say that violation of NFL rule, you gotta figure something we've seen guys kind of finagle with this a little bit. They say things certainly there's ways you could skirt as you know, you got pre-game me a little banged up. Whatever I mean, he's got some soreness in wheel in something. Something's got. Had to be surprised at CJ. Girly and say, wait a second. You you couldn't run the ball because you were sore or your compounding the problem. Are you not? I mean, he lied to begin with right, right? Because girly clearly was hurt. He the the the whole notion that that Anderson was a better match up. I mean, it's hot girl. He's a top two running back in the sport. I mean, they had some some guys say, well, even at the Rams bay none as somebody had McVeigh talking about the matchup of C, J Anderson when you just gave girly what forty five million dollar extension, or whatever it was that was it. So I mean, you mean to tell me I'm gonna take a Jim Brown out of the game. Sanders out of the to get the backup some work because the fact that it can more north-south runner. No that that to me made no sense. So we all knew what the truth was tasked. But I don't think the Rams after they told everybody at CBS after they told everybody during the course of the week leading up to the Super Bowl that Gurley was a okay one hundred percent healthy after girly basically said as well after McVeigh said at that after the game after once again having little to no work or very limited work that saying well, listen all week long. Is he was about sixty percent. Well, listen the week. I don't think they could do that. I understand they face a massive fine. I understand what you're saying. And you're spot on you are. But the thing is, you know, this the week going into the Super Bowl the narrative Rams camp was loud and clear. Yeah. That you know, what I'm going with this Todd Gurley was going to run the ball. Todd Gurley was tweet now. But she loved the team everything he's rarely go, blah, blah, blah, talk girl talk girl Todd Gurley. And really he didn't do nothing touches in the Super Bowl. He did not. But isn't that TASR when you look back at a is not a case of gamesmanship could be it could be. But it could be it didn't work. I'm not telling you that could be right because why gave the patriots an advantage in their preparations. When do you want to make sure that everyone's a ok and one hundred percent healthy you want to sit in the notion of the pats have to prepare for one hundred percent Todd Gurley. Even though the Rams DOE that he's not. I mean, let's say what what Anderson said is basically what we all thought. I mean, there's nobody walking around gonna get a lot too at Starbucks and saying listen Anderson was I can understand why girly to got limited. No use. I mean, he was one hundred percent healthy. I mean, we we all thought that game. I I don't want to I. Yes. But for me, I was a little bit. I'm going to be honest. I know out here talking. I was out a little bit confused. I wasn't buying into the injury thing. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't buying it. I think I said that here several times, I remember we serve as me. I wasn't by. Now, if CJ is telling the truth, and I was dead wrong. Now. I'll be wrong. That's fine. I felt like there was more to this than the guy's got an injured knee got guys hurt because there were clusters. They were burst. He would get on the field in the AFC championship in NFC champ should say in the end in the Super Bowl where he girly looked explosive. Looked awesome and bro. Nobody nobody. I didn't see maybe I'm slightly exaggerating. The bulk of those two games I did not see any member of medical staff on the sideline near Todd Gurley. And he was the thread of the broadcast. He was the conversation from the Rams offense aside where commentators for both those games will talking about girly. My point is I we've never really sure camera autumn a lot on the sideline, but we never saw trainer or anybody from the training staff talking to him. I'm not saying it didn't happen. But we never saw. Reported see that. But I mean lot there's I mean tasks we we've all watched girly run the football. We've all watched Anderson run the football would be a case of, you know, you're taking a top three players position out of the game for guy that just came off the cow graph. Yeah. No, no. I agree with you. Thanks. I know you know, that I know I know I it's just now I believe now we have regardless of what the motivation is for CJ and got some clarity. And he even said, you know, let's girlie one say, but it was the same knee that he got that. He suffered that he had the knee injury with when it came back to college. Right. Our it's the it's that day believes spring me. I mean, they brought him in. And I understand Anderson. Ran the ball. Really? Well, he did. And he's gonna get himself a job in two thousand nineteen in the National Football League and great for C J Anderson took advantage of an opportunity, but tasks we look at that game. And you say we'll house type girly not getting touches and it very similar a not not very similar. But when you take a starter off the field as we criticize the patriots two years ago in the Super Bowl when they take a quarter off the field. That's played in your saying. Why is he not play crown on a Sunday, and no clarity about that? Right dogs act. We we still don't know exactly. What went wrong there? And everyone says it was the match. Yup. That's nonsense. What a corner bells. Defensive place that doesn't play in the Super Bowl. You look down with girly. At least we have a little bit of clarity in terms of where that me wasn't where he was. And you're right. I I guess I'm just being thick-headed. But I don't think we'll go out and lie with do that. I don't hear is nothing a game for that. You know? I mean, he's actually protecting a guy that he's competing against that was on his team. You know what? I mean, the girl he's not going to be getting excuses. Right. Well, I respect that too. And here's what here's the other thing. It didn't come back to what the Rams, you know. Why didn't because Goth was brutal? Yeah. He really was. And you could say we want Cup. Cop wasn't there? You could say anybody can say what they want about Cup. And that and I know they have great chemistry. Goths gotta be a player with or without Carly or without some. I agree with you. And that and that gave them some cover. So I mean as bad as it was that scene girly on the field TASR. There were throws a GOP needed to me. And he was clearly undone by the defensive scheme by the
Todd Gurley, C.J. Anderson Lead Rams to NFC Championship with Win vs. Cowboys
"Ran for one twenty three two touchdowns Todd Gurley. One fifteen and another score on the ground. Rams burst playoff victory in fourteen years. Thirty two twenty two over the Cowboys. They're onto the NFC championship game. For the first time in seventeen years LA racked up a franchise playoff record, two hundred seventy three yards on the ground. The most ever allowed a postseason gay by the Cowboys were playing in their NFL record sixty third playoff game. Anderson post game with our Josina Anderson. Some people really understand what type of motivation that you came into this game with everything that had happened to you this season knowing that you had a career year last year and to have to one hundred and girly in this game. The biggest thing man. I I wanna give thanks to the man above for forgiving me the opportunity and then second, you know, you plan on the field with Todd Gurley Zeke Elliott. You know, I'm just trying to make my statement and make my step in this game too. How hard is it to have to basically feel like you have to prove yourself when you know that you can run and what you feel like you sold out here today and doing that every week every week every day. Relief from Denver releasing Carolina, released them all. You know, sitting there waiting on opportunity. So I just kept pushing myself, I never never not believe myself because by great right spots. And I'm glad the Rams talent you able to basically create those halls against this Cowboys deepens that was number one and yards allowed before contact coming into today picking the right spots. My ability workforce south just trying to break tackles trying to get the defenders trying to create big whereas off that looking at camera everybody who's ever been doubted. What you sold them tonight fifty Bryant man, if you've ever been down ever been misplaced overlooked fifty vitamin if you drink don't die to you give up on a potato keep working. And that's what I did. And that's what we're doing. And see you next week survive in advance. Thank you.
