"About to come your way New York City councilman Eric Paul rich will be here at seven forty he's going to try at least to get something going in New York City Council dot governor Cuomo remove buildup Lazio mayor bill o'reilly in the eight o'clock hour and talking about removing buildup Lazio as mayor we've got a guest on the line of course you guys normally Sunday morning show guy that owns this station as well as the supermarket I shopped in yesterday and most days of Christie's in New York City and he is now it looks like going to run for mayor himself and that of course is our friend John Catsimatidis John burning and said good morning how are you what is you know it you will very good thank you John you know it's always interesting the other morning we had woody Giuliani on Bernie and I and I would usually on he was talking about restoring law and order removing build the blood seal he was talking about two words specifically and the two words John more common sense and I know I know if you do officially one for mayor that is going to be you a platform like John common sense well I said that given day yesterday you need three things to run right now you need the guts to do it because everybody's going to come back to all different directions and through any common sense and we talked about forming an exploratory committee at combining Democrats Republicans liberals conservatives it's about running the city properly if the city we love as a you know we used to love going to a restaurant three celeb or to the movies we used to love to go the radio city you know Lincoln center the theater district I put in a good movie once in a while as expected to be easy to get it all back and the you know we're fighting a World War two who knows wow you know we're getting attacked by cyber all the time our computers are getting attacked a it is a different this virus April Asia April China as I blame the Chinese would not the Chinese government that the Chinese people Chinese people wonderful people yep the trainees government but not telling us that they kept those airplanes coming from hot to JFK airport that's why of the hundred thousand lives we lost forty thousand of them are within Connecticut New York New Jersey Pennsylvania had it's horrible it is yes go ahead Sir in addition and nobody said this yet you know will the Chinese have said to us we are instigating the riots in Hong Kong well descent capable but somebody supplying the money somebody supplying money to these people they're very organized yeah I'm gonna try these getting even welcome what what is similar to what they did with the as you laid out the pandemic spread dirt protected China and they spread it around the world it was a it was a war it was a with a crime against humanity is what it was a John Katzman TD's who was at fault formed an exploratory committee to run for mayor he also happens to be our boss here W. A. B. C. ready the owner of the radio station but Mr Katzman TD's with what we've seen as you point out in our beloved city this past week the anarchy the chaos in the mismanagement on the part of our our to casually leaders the Blasi and Cuomo and then of course you have the two lawyers who throw Molotov cocktails at the put people protect us the police out a low bail at all the looters all looters that were arrested by our brave men and women and blow out again on the street because a lot then okay spell all well let me let me let me go backwards on that and I go to quote family call log more time and I know god bless yo for twenty five years the blast you know there's a lot smarter people correct and I'm disappointed with it all on certain situations what I would ask him to do today and what I would ask governor Cuomo to do today is to give an executive order rescinding the bail reform law or just put it on hold criminals back into jails yes it records that would go with many of the Blasio be young writers island and put these criminals on the streets Thursday Jan Turner rabbits New York City that's correct get out of the executive order put these people back directors violet at your you know what happened said eight did the police arrest three hundred people last night or seven hundred people yep I wanted to go back again yes it's unbelievable so you can't make it up you will be like that so those with those with the curfew breakers but even worse of course with the looters yeah who got right out of prison as well I mean so what your body talking about the little result what would you do John if you were in fact mayor but it wasn't go the Blasi and Bernie talks about the loader is on the right it's going on right now give us something that we can bite on here John that says I'm the right guy for the job because I would do this what would you do differently outside the the people have the right to March in separate peer but what happened in Minneapolis I don't have no problem with that argument I might work with them so but its category who would I talk about your date bill Reilly talked about it it is the criminals data blockchain Bihari these legitimate marchers dressed to find an excuse to create criminal activities to enrich themselves right as number three VS click tag people I'm not saying it's on paper might be another movement but somebody's paying those people to create no rights and throw the bricks that are our our policemen somebody thank them and we have to get to the bottom of it but take the criminals put up in jails put him in jail and but thirty days let it cool it off let's clean up the streets that has to be done immediately admitted to the blast you'll have to do it it usually governor Cuomo has to do it he immediately absolutely John Katzman CD's on the Bernie and sid show up Mr Catsimatidis also you know I think it would help I would go a long way if we just reopen the city in the state right now I mean you can ransack a restaurant and you doing a good thing but if you try to open your restaurant you're killing grandma I mean they're still sticking to that narrative I mean it's it's a it's we're we're way beyond that after they just allowed all these up protesters and rioters took to gather in big huge crowds of thousands and hundreds or whatever I did nothing about it and said but not not much about it but we re open the city right now I I mean I think it's essential right now before we do permanent damage with if we haven't already done so I agree one hundred percent you have to you get a you know I don't want to play the political game I think it's great play and just stole the reopening of schools schools schools that I think we should be open to city ASAP yep yes you did you say this thought John Catsimatidis that there's a lot of people here in New York City that I've lost faith I gotta be honest John I'm one of them I mean I still live on the Upper West Side I frequent tell you what place Christie's but my family we have lost some faith in the city and most of my family and friends that live in the city John very seriously considering moving out because of the poll politicians in charge what we've seen the last couple of months if you were mayor you would say to sit Rosenberg what don't lose faith in the city because why what can you restore I would say stay here till November of twenty one what is the Lexus ES let's change who who border city let's change the poor people in the city council to propose the stupid bills that's saying to people in the state Senate or or in the state assembly that proposed the stupid bills at let's clean up let's clean house but go out and vote as you know it does yeah you know a lot of people I know don't want to go out but you know what to tell me if I poke did it become eligible to jury duty well my god you know it's true but so what I mean that's ridiculous so said that this is what we get it we get this internship in this city well let let's all work together look I was of Bill Clinton Democrat you know that yes you know exactly where you are I like them too yes I did the fact is I mean the the the country was thriving on the bill for a while I was I'm a common sense guy work with Democrats and work very closely with Democrats I've worked very closely with unions I work very closely with Republicans I I had to Liberal Party nomination and I was proud of it you know why I work for the police athletic league thirty five years to build a book of door and helping the kids of the inner city and I think it is very important so am I a liberal yes I believe in helping people especially people of our city well it doesn't make a liberal that make sure you and being and we appreciate that John we appreciate what you do what the what the PA Ellie pre show you W. W. E. B. C. the station has never been better since you took over so best of luck to you and I hope you'll be hearing a lot of good stuff about you and they suck campaign and believe me when I tell you we'd like nothing more than to see the call you may attachment to ease but not too long from now no doubt thank you very much and keep working and let's help this will help make a better deal you got a job thank you so much thank you all right Sir yes Sir there you go it's very good what Bill Murray in stripes are like that hello this is this is going to be our saving grace I mean it really yeah this is what we need common sense those are the two words and W. central time so.

"You covered the NBA for a long time and I know you had some personal interactions with with Kobe you had to be shaken up by this news and I almost felt like right even though you're a consummate professional almost felt like I could see that on your face this morning as you were doing the news first of all thanks for having me on it's it's so great to be back with you again because you might forget when we we did the weekend shows together at a channel five when I came back Chicago can you believe it seventeen years now I can't we did we did the show together we cover the Olympics together you that was a fun time yes it was so but of course the you know it's nice to reflect on those happy times on a day like today because I made it today was it is very difficult it's hard I mean we're supposed to be objective and and removed as journalists but I'm also a basketball fan and are you know I'm a fan of the NBA are covered Colby when he came into the league in nineteen ninety six as this teenaged kid that nobody really know about and the first time I saw him I said okay I get a good kid but he's not there yet but it's going to be a star and I've had the good fortune over the last twenty twenty five years to the and some personal situations where coldly your friends some some when I worked in Orlando covering the magic you know player you know which track was there and I was I I believe should be checked going back many years and just different situation but I bet and been able to actually visit with them and talk to him and if not a little bit about what we're not close friends by any stretch but when I open always struck me about Colbert called Jenny when he was extremely at another game lower vent any make eye contact yeah you don't want to just you know and I posted a couple pictures on social media and and those are two things that the young couple consists of the band out but man this hurts I make not not just the Kobe Bryant is gonna be age of forty one but how it happened losing his daughter the seven other victims in horrific helicopter crash I mean it it's just absolute gut wrenching it is and you you look at a number of celebrities other fellow NBA stars like Scotty Pippen D. Wade who seemed devastated by this news they knew they knew Kobe well and our are weighing in on this D. Wade saying this is one of the saddest days of my life time it seems like a bad dream that I just want to wake up from you son Michael Jordan say he was like a little brother to me so many others way in and then Zac living in the bulls guard you know young players said more than basketball man he has four daughters life is great and this is somebody said he kind of grew up watching him he said you know you yet this mindset that was bigger than basketball unbelievable lost you were one of my biggest influences you forget about that he not only was coaching young girls to be great basketball players and that was sort of phase two for Colby coach Kobe but then you think about all the young players coming up in the league were impacted by him and that's the bulk of the young players in the first all the NBA is much younger than I was I hate to sound like an old fogey but in our day or in generations past because the players are younger and bay did go up idolizing Colby just as much as they would want to wear Jordan paid work Kobe shoes and I mean Kobe is a dynamic worse arguably one of the top five players to ever play the game bar none period so he's were beard and respected so highly amongst his peers almost fan not just in Los Angeles of the country but around the world it is the guy you know with his history of being raised partly in Italy with his with his father played professional there and and spoke Italian and was it had all the parts and interests outside of basketball I mean the guy won an Oscar what are the what are the retired hall of fame player you say wanted after like a year or two after they walk away from the game because he wanted to create what to tell stories to become you know but may sell any was doing all of that and and if you call the second act in and everyone was competent he was gonna be as good or better in the second chapter of his life but he was a player and and let's not forget I mean he survived the you'd scandal as a player if you go back to an old three with the rape allegations in Colorado but she denied he did admit that he had an extramarital affair he took it head on but he he's what I think of Colby just one word comes to mind is just alternate competitor and he was right there that Michael Jordan level he can use he talked about how these you know with his his daughter told them with Ted Guster you mention is like you they tell me if you're you're telling us to shoot for our dreams into like books keep setting goals for ourselves where's your goals so that he goes off any wins the Oscar at the ball I mean my god the other victims us talk about them because that ties as Ryan Baker to this other conversation about girls basketball a Janis thirteen year old basketball teammates Peyton Chester a Lisa Altobelli among the dead Chester's mother Sarah also killed along with Adam L. to Bally's parents long time college baseball coach John was a belly and his wife carried those of the other victims all of them really involved in girls basketball and some really talented players there with huge hopes and dreams for the future I mean your mom I have two young daughters I mean you just think that more than anything in this world I think I can speak for you probably want to protect our children right but you don't want anything to happen from any kind of harm and I I just can't fathom the moments before that helicopter crash there for all of the victims in that helicopter I mean you know you see all the pictures of Colby and his daughter gains and someone bald invested and in her future not just any Gigi but all of those dollars a minute I got here the seven month old you know and and my heart goes out to Vanessa his wife who to lose your husband and a daughter simultaneously I don't know how to recover from that it's just it's on speaker hole it's operated from for all are made you much about the belly that's you know parents and their daughter to lose their lives simultaneously that's it's so horrific it just goes to show the fragility of life but no one is exempt or noon where you are all susceptible to these things you have to really embrace life for everything it has enough but I think that's the bar the Kobe said in the example that he just he was relentless and everything he did certainly if you've played with passion but you were talking about him what an Oscar clearly he was focused on such a high level to build or content that he wrote and produced himself and the like you just letters name up to someone to do it he's completely hand was completely hands on it's just it's it's it's a huge loss I I'm physically sick and I've heard other NBA players people search it feels like we've lost a close family member and it does because you didn't see Kobe go up from the seventeen year old kid he was drafted too you know one of the all time greats and the ups and downs of everything five pound champion eighteen time all star and we can just just what would you have when you're when you're reduced to one lane that's our time says you just said coldly everybody knows you're talking about yeah I want to get into that piece we are we have someone standing by want to talk to in a moment about that piece about why this hits so close to home even though most of us unlike you'd never met him never interacted with him it's still there was a sense of loss amongst a lot of people and that's something we want explorer but I just also want to ask you a hearing that the United center was lit up overnight you son navy pier using the different sports teams across Chicago reach out at this time and it just pay their respects for one of the greats of the game and the key word is is great and I think that's what draws us to sports is greatness and when you get a chance to see it and what was said we were spoiled in this town during the Jordan dynasty years when you when you see that greatness and just to get close to it it's inspiring to us it it it in courage in those pictures were drawn to it and and Colby personified greatness at that level so that that's why I think so the people are drawn if any does have the charisma and personality to go along with that besides an immense talent and he made no bones about it his work ethic was a match so all those things the combination of it together you know just Megan just keep it under a unique figure I mean just think about it look Brian James the night before this tragedy happened he passes coldly into third place on the all time scoring list returning wrote that message out a snicker mom before life and it seems Gerry not if you think about it that's not twenty four hours later I hope he is gone and here's the next great great player if an internal link there's more to come follow him it's just I've never seen so many poor legend from Kareem Abdul Jabbar Magic Johnson Michael Jordan who were just shaken to the core I've never seen that and you know we we don't want to because of the creatures of the moment but I argue simply I'm racking my brain to think of a time of a player I mean I I you know I don't know but maybe report will burrow Clemente when he was killed in a plane crash landed another legendary player but I mean a player of this deal with this type of reach I don't know that it's happened before to to pass away in such a tragic way yeah Ryan Baker thank you so much for taking some time for us to know you you go to bed pretty soon here what it is it's tomorrow this they're going to get it get it done already for the girls yeah but you know it's been a real pleasure I'd love to have been that would just get down the road I would love it okay thank you Ryan enjoy the rest of your day we were gonna switch gears here a little bit talk to Elizabeth Scribner she's a licensed professional counselor owner of park cities counseling park city's council dot com and Elizabeth we.

"Called in and won the ticket for me all of the needs thank you for calling enjoy email will often have a good time all right before we get to our next gas I want to give you the scores for the first leg stories been begging me what about the golf course richer what about the golf scores and so I'm gonna do it for the northern trust they which is taking place right now in Jersey city crosses the river from New York City the first of the final three legs for the FedEx Cup all right or is it for you leading right now in in the clubhouse in minus eleven is Jordan Spieth's Troy Merritt still on the course I know you love this don't deny it and also at minus eleven so speed in merit and minus eleven where tiger Richie where tiger tiger withdrew today he shot a seventy five yesterday and and pulled out today with the stomach oblique muscle strain something like this a bigger pulled out sorry story answers the minus ten degree to minus tan John rom in minus ten and Dustin Johnson at minus does give me a great weekend story gonna be glued to the TV all minus nine is Puttenham rose which is Simon Brackley faint favorite player who's your agent from South Africa in Porter from England and Rory McElroy from Northern Ireland so those are the leaders going into the third round tomorrow the northern trust hundred thirty players gets whittled down to seventy players for next week and the weekend after that down to thirty players in the winter of all that fifteen million dollar first prize it's not a bad payday are you happy now you relieve now I literally no none of those people I don't know what's going on have you heard of Tiger Woods I've heard of Tiger Woods I have heard of him but no one else I know nothing about golf what do you know about tiger he's a cheater I know nothing about it other than he's like the big star of Gulf what is gold I know you hit the ball play stickball fifteen oh two with more and more you know hoping that basically I'm dead by about four and a few to take over the show next week he'll be a senior this year at the end of a Waldorf school if she chooses to go back to school if I right now it's kind of a fifty fifty radio career or finishing high school yeah Gregory's chronicle is here Greg this is my this is my forty eight hours the Santa Fe community college had the new president on yesterday just had to Jennifer Duran Sally on who is also working on this conference with the lentil foundation on childhood trauma you're you're roll your your position at the community college is doing what so I run the veterans resource center on the school serve find official and veterans coordinator been out there for a little over five years now voted the number one veterans program a community colleges in the United States in all the U. S. that was in twenty sixteen twenty seventeen and I remain one of the top schools in the nation just for providing services again congratulations I really appreciate that you know I I have the experience is even I had this week you know the reason why I continue to work on that campus I really believe it's one of the greatest places in our community no question the intersection of diversity cultures just it's it's really education it beams of bringing people together and I just happen to be a small piece of that but yet I I have an opportunity make a difference in people's lives each and every day along with the colleagues staff and faculty I work with and it's just a great place to all right in the question is story entries to this question coming right why in the hell are you running for city council thank you for asking it kind of all this other stuff going what do you need the headache of running for city council or the being on the city council is open I can ask you why you were so big and to golf but the reason why I'm running for city council has go ahead I have a lot to do with the origin of me stepping on that campus you know I I showed up to Santa Fe community college a pretty busted up person like I was just going through a really tough time transitioning back into the community from the military from the military and and even just a having a business the economy collapse seen out in southern California in having to restart life and I just I walked on that campus and I felt such an embrace Richard I never thought I would be working there I just went there to finish up in associates at the time I have three college degrees the highest a master's but the reason why my for city council is because I I still have that belief that one person can make a difference and this is my home town that much I believe Santa Fe like I I care so much about this community that I'm naive enough I guess to say that that I can go in I can be a difference maker even though I understand the the way that the structure is of this the governing body and yet you have to have the votes and there's eight counselors and there's a mayor and there's all these directors and city managers I get all that but sometimes people just need someone to speak out and to cast a vision in to say you know what yeah this is hard yes this is different but guess what we need to start doing this and we can't ever get to that point without taking that first step and that's to me running for city council you have a website I do it's Greg four S. FCC Santa Fe city council dot com okay social media social media can find me on Facebook just look up Gregory it's my full name Gregory Skarga got a lot of content on there his live in district four I live in district four I rent in district four okay grew up where I grew up here in in Santa Fe grew up downtown right but would go only went to a Ghormley caption say my ex Santa Fe high kind of bounced around a little bit but I care about deeply about Santa Fe and family I DO and been married twenty one years next next month and I have a twelve year old daughter that starting ATC next Wednesday and a ten year old son a to come fishing this morning where non bay get anything are we cut a monster you are at your of fission full many post pictures of giant giant fish all the time we cut it because the big one today is about twenty four inch rainbow trout it was a it's a great day you're given time how beautiful it is final Friday of my kids summer and you know this is ideal weather right now it was a it was a good day to be out on the water and and yet to to finish the afternoon here with you talking to the community in your listeners about issues that are really important in our in our in sorry you know I could go on and on and on but I'm sure you talk to people you walk to street you put out the yard signs and all of that what do you hear from people in district four one of the most concerned about where the most interested in they want the city to provide the services I mean that's the bottom line that's the most important issue like housing is the most critical issue right Blake will get their housings not like is it there critical but the most important issue day in and day out in people's lives is the city for failing an obligation to provide a basic level of expectation exists sounds like the city's not maintaining our parks maintaining our streets maintaining the medians I mean this is basic services that it they're not being that we have a broken process and I've talked to the parks and rec director I've talked to other leaders in this community and I don't always think I'm getting the straight shooting because it seems like we're a town where the squeaky wheel gets the oil and so these department directors go around day in and day out constituents reverses day in and day out putting out the fires there's not a process to that it's who's making the loudest noise and we needed basically gonna dress that and yet that's not a process for maintaining there is a situation that caught your eyes in a calm mind and I actually went and did something about it I did a video blog and reached out to the parks and rec director John moon yes and it was about brand park that's that's in the middle of a Syringa road down by Richard Avenue in many was a mess three feet tall weeds you know most people just think it's a wash like basically what will you I assume it was built to capture storm water right potentially but the thing is is if you live in that neighborhood it is mostly mature residents of that dell Delma area that walk their dogs I mean it's heavily used to the people that called the area there can be now and so it just was eight foot tall weeds you brought it to their attention couple days later they went down in mode and city council tried to take credit for which you said now don't take credit for and I also said don't take credit for it it is back to being eight foot tall weeds you know two weeks after that and it'll eat it can wait for winner and for the snow to kill at all and so that is the point eight rific thank you for peace in that together it's like it's one thing to to go down there and do the maintenance but how do we keep it maintained always half past when they did it how do I am past when they did it how do we keep it maintained our parks and rec hasn't or eighteen and a half million dollar budget right they did a master plan parks and rec document two years ago right it was mostly about our our conservation of water however they talked about constituent services they talked about complaints into the city and they also did an analysis with sister cities like flagstaff and yet we always shoot ourselves in the foot to where we're always spending more and we're getting less in terms of the services received and so I just feel that I'm that person that that wants to not just disrupt I wanna I wanna improve an innovator I'm someone that's a problem solver and so I want to know what is the problem what are we doing or not doing that we can't maintain every single park in this community simultaneously and keep them to a certain standard here hearing that when you walk around you meet with people in in district four of course okay I just want somebody to do you know what I would like I would like one city councillor to go out and take a selfie with a hollow with some weeds and show that they they even are aware of the problem and actually pictured them so maybe
