"All right, joining me now for our weekly train of thoughts, segment from WFA and radio in New York. Yes NYT, my buddy solita. I didn't know if he maybe would bail this week after the mets for eliminated. But here he is. Good job, being a professional. Yeah, right. That was honestly after they got swept on the braves. That was the worst for me. So they sucked that they got eliminated, but dealing with the sweep of the braves. Nothing will compare to that. We detailed Sal going viral last week. So if you missed it, check out last week's train of thought segment. We're not going to do it again. You went to all three games at Citi Field. Unfortunately, yes, I did. And I will say that it was been a plenty of Yankee playoff games. I can not believe that they actually did not sell out, game three of that. That to me is an embarrassment. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know if I'm with you on that. I just think I just think the way things are now with the cost of everything. True. It's pretty tough to rip people. And I didn't look into specifics. But I saw enough articles and sort of tweets and heard enough things on New York radio about the prices for the tickets were pretty jacked up. They were now on the secondary market you can get them cheap. I just have a hard time. It's a New York franchise. They haven't been in the postseason in 6 years. I was shocked that they did not sell out a game three potential punctures. So Sunday night, Sunday Night, people with work. And if it's an NFL day, I just think when a bagel with cream cheese costs 5 bucks, I can't rip people for the game. Because it's not just a ticket price. You know this, you got to pay for the parking. No, it's ridiculous. And then God forbid you want to drink. And then up Schitt's Creek basically. You were in for a thousand bucks to see the Met's funeral, and that's basically what fans wanted to avoid. Yeah. When you were at game three and it became evident they were going to lose where people, what was the mood in the stands or people like nasty, where they depressed? Yes, they were nasty, very nasty. Matter of fact, I would say, even though I know it's not a sellout, but the crowd in general, it was 36,000, 39,000, whatever it was. It felt like a July baseball game against the Padres. Not wild card postseason. So even before they got down in the game, the crowd wasn't good. And then once they got down and then started to get beat up pretty good, the crowd was very, that tells me that what you said earlier is true that sort of the bubble burst for the Met fan with the brave series. Right. More than the Padres. Did you get any verbal abuse at city field over the three nights? I did. Oh shit. Yeah, and the one.

"A legitimate defense against U.S. threats. North Korea's state run news agency released a statement from government officials on Saturday, saying the recent missile launches did not pose any threat to the safety of civil aviation or to neighboring countries. The statement comes after the UN criticized North Korea for launching 6 missiles in a 12 day period, including an intermediate range ballistic missile that flew over Japan, and former president Trump says America is at a tipping point. If the radical Democrats keep their grip on the House and the Senate, your finances, your family, your community, and your country will never be able to recover. Trump made the remarks at a Nevada rally Saturday in support of Republican Senate candidate Adam laxalt, he added that America must quote demand immediate negotiation of a peaceful end to the war in Ukraine, or there will be another World War. I'm Jim Forbes. Now this Bloomberg sports update, the mets were determined to not let their season end on Saturday. And they delivered at Citi Field, not a very comfortable night. It was cool weather, but the mets came through in the clutch. Four runs in the 7th inning and that four runs makes the difference in a 7 three mets win. So what does that mean? It sets up a well winner take all basically game on Sunday Night starting just after 7 p.m. at Citi Field, so it's a very, very important win for the match, but all it does is buy them an extra day, we'll see what they can deliver in game three on Sunday against the Padres. Of course, there were other games on Saturday as well. The Phillies beat St. Louis to end that series. It was Cleveland's guardians. How about this game goes 15 innings in Cleveland between the guardians and the rage, but in the end, it's the guardians coming through with a 15th inning home run from Oscar Gonzalez and that one nothing final means Cleveland comes to New York to get the Yankees on Tuesday. The Mariners move on they punch out Toronto with a ten 9 win and they do it by overcoming a 7 run deficit, so the Mariners are winners in that series in two games. They go to Houston. That's also on Tuesday. Football on Sunday, the Giants overseas in London against the packers. They'll get the early 9 30 kick both teams are three and one. Packers are favored by 8 and a half, the jets are home against the dolphins. Miami comes in three and one, the jets are two and two, Zach Wilson trying to improve on his play, but he looks settled in right now as the jets quarterback. That's your Bloomberg sports update. Well, today at Citi Field in Queens with the Nats visiting the mets how about Cesar Hernandez. "Let's dig into it with Bloomberg business week editor Joe Weber. It's the cover story of the upcoming issue, Bloomberg, business week. We did afternoons at two eastern. These are retailers that have been on everybody's radar. Those Apple numbers continuing to come in. One Bloomberg radio, the Bloomberg business app and Bloomberg radio dot com. A wildfire in Northern California has destroyed dozens of homes in the town of weed, the Sacramento bee says the mill fire had grown to over 4200 acres by Saturday night and is now 25% contained, weed mayor Kim green says most of the damage was in the historically black neighborhood of Lincoln heights, where about 100 homes were destroyed, Cal fire officials say a second wildfire is also burning in the area, the mountain fire is burning north of weed. And the IRS is admitting it published private taxpayer information. Julie Ryan has the very latest. It made the admission on Friday and said it affected about 120,000 individuals, names and income from certain investments were on its website for a year. Despite that, lawmakers were told no social security numbers or individual income information was included in the exposure. I'm Julie Ryan. And that's the very latest. I'm Jim Forbes. Now this Bloomberg sports update, let's start with baseball, not a winning night for the Yankees or the mets on Saturday Max Scherzer starting for the mets in their game at city field against the nationals. He went 5 innings, but exited the game at that point with left side fatigue. And eventually, it all caved in on the mets as the nationals cash in with 5 runs in the top of the 9th inning and they win going away 7 to one. So that is not a good finish for the mets. They'll continue the series at Citi Field on Sunday, even worse news for the Yankees. They lose in Tampa to the raise and the only hit that mattered was Aaron judge with a 9th inning solo home run. That's his 52nd home run of the year, but it was a two to one Tampa win as Corey Kluber shut down the Yankees with 7 shutout innings and so a nice win for the race. The Yankees have now seen their lead in the American League east shrink from 15 and a half games down to four. They've lost 6 of their last 7 and so the Yankees continue to struggle and they also make the move on Andrew benintendi and place him on the ten day injured list. He's got right wrist inflammation that happened in Friday's game in Tampa. "Albert pools as Homer had off of in his career. That past Barry Bonds for the most different pitchers homered off of all time. And of course, some of this is the function of modern relief pitching, which has changed even since bonds career. We're really incredible. And I love that and this is no disrespect to us. But when he homered off of him, my first thought was, I have no idea. He might have Homer to adopt him before because dead Waller has been around for a bit. But it's just incredible. And every time that Albert pulls homers, feels like everyone is really united and being excited for him. Maybe cubs fans or whoever they're facing, not so much, but it really feels like it's a moment people are rooting for. And I was sitting here watching that watching Serena Williams, and it was a really fun moment for the 40 plus athlete crowd. Yeah, no kidding. And another fun day for the 40 plus athlete crowd came on Saturday, at Citi Field, the mets held in old timers day, which seemed like it was so much fun, and I've heard stories around the edges about how, you know, for ownership, but it was expensive. And Steve Cohen's all in because he wants to celebrate these guys who've been part of its history, players getting all expenses paid, getting $2500 a piece for doing it. And I got to say, not only did I think it was cool for the mets, but if I'm the Yankees and I'm seeing this, Sarah, you better step up your game a little bit because it feels like the meds old timers day might wind up surpassing the Yankees. I mean, it was such an event, you know, my father was a huge mets fan, was watching it all texting me telling me is crying during some of the interviews. I mean, I really think it was so meaningful. And the moment when they retired Willie Mays, the number. I mean, I'm here right now. Because Willie Mae is because my mother was a huge Williams fan and to retire his number making good on a promise shown peace and made all those years ago. But I mean, to your point about the expense, I mean, you're saying these guys, the matching uniforms, the sneakers, you can tell how much went into it. And I think it really does get to the point that they have an owner now who is a huge fan of the team and of the team's history and that really shows. So we'll see what the he's doing next year, but I saw Pedro said postgame in the media availability that he wants to take on the Yankee old timer. So I want to see that happen. Yeah, and they would probably be a brawl, you know,

"And all this promise is smoke and mirrors. I'm cushion avidar, filling in for Cairo. Tune into the United States of anxiety live tonight at 6 on WNYC. And you're listening to all things considered on WNYC. Thanks for joining me this afternoon. I'm Tiffany Hansen. It was a historic afternoon at Citi Field yesterday as the New York mets retired number 17. The number was worn by longtime Metz first baseman Keith Hernandez, who was a 5 time all star and an 11 time gold glove winner on New York won Hernandez acknowledged the historic nature of the gesture. We're 60 years of history here now and there's only 5 people up there and I'll be the 6th. So that's pretty special. And that's something I'm really, really proud of. Prior to the game against the Miami Marlins Hernandez throughout the first pitch from first base, he's been a color commentator for the mets since 2006. The mets ended the day yesterday with a dramatic extra innings victory winning 5 four in the tenth today, however, they lost to Miami two zero. Coming up in the next 15 minutes on all things considered a new Supreme Court case could radically change congressional and presidential elections by giving broad, largely unchecked power to state legislators in deciding how those elections are run. And my conversation with WNYC is a ruined Venezuelan about the settlement between the Justice Department and 6 men detained in the wake of the 9 11 attacks. That's coming up on all things

"The Mets are playing a game that I believe was postponed yesterday. They're finishing the game today. Javi did not start in the game, so he's be. He was pinch hitting. This is at Citi Field. He comes up to bat and every man, woman and child in there has the thumbs down and booing. If you want to write a funny video, that's awesome. People even brought like the thumbs down Emoji like a big cardboard cut out of it. Yeah, so they could give the thumbs down to boo Javi bias. And then he got hit by a pitch if he if he steals, second and scores on a single and he crosses home plate. I hope he stands up and gives everyone the thumbs down. I think that would be hilarious. You boo me Pull you back. Yep. So one thing happy family that is the latest with Javi Baez here on ESPN chair. Here we go Soak in those beers. It's not that loud. I expected louder because there's not very many people. There's not many people there. It's very empty, but it's very funny to see like a dad and his son both pumps down in New York. Yeah, it's just funny. And I've got no problem with it at all. I have no problem with the Mets fans were booing them to begin with, but he and Francisco Lindor or have in fact apologized. Complete

"We do see Trend right now in baseball that guys are adding velocity talk about it a lot on this broadcast. First pitch to Madonna's is in there for a strike with a slider and its own one. Brewers have a lot of great examples of that themselves of guys that have added velocity. Even after they got to the big leagues. Here's the old one to a Domus and he pops it up, fouling out of play, and it'll be onto but for the Graham to go from 93 to 99 to 100 now Well into his thirties. It's really incredible the way Not only has Jacob deGrom done it, but as the industry has found ways to increase guys Ville Oh, Anna Domus takes a called third strike on a fastball at 100 MPH. From Jacob deGrom and back to back strikeouts. Both of the looking variety here in the top of the fourth Everything official 1500 Career strikeouts Now for Jacob deGrom second fastest pitcher to ever do it behind you, Darvish. Then he gets a standing ovation from the folks here at Citi Field. Easy to see why they love him here in New York. This is the class of Major League baseball right now. From the starting pitching standpoint, here's Narvaez first offering to him Is a high strike at 101. He's loose now. He was 96 to 98 1st couple of innings and now easy, 100. One in RVs, and it's a liner but foul and it's quickly on to and he's just in control right now. Just free and easy throwing strikes. Here's my stuff, See what you can do with it. And when your stuff is 11 with a nasty slider, easy to see why you'd be confident in it crowd encouraging him here. Here's the 02 pitch swing and a miss. He strikes out Narvaez and Graham. Strikes out this side here in the top of the fourth. He is a good one. There's a reason why everybody in baseball's talking about him 1501 strikeouts Now for Jacob deGrom 11 Ball game as we go to the bottom of the fourth on the Brewers radio network presented by American family insurance, Staying connected means games can still feel like this. This happening is tough. We pray he can pitch for us this year. I'm going to be talking with carl. Why i kinda wonder if that's even a possibility. And i'll explain why this is going to get really really complicated for all involved now. The mets have been ravaged by all these injuries lately but they had a great day on thursday. This was in game one first-pitch peraza to high drive deep to left top back near the wall. That bom jose peraza gets the mets won on their road. Maybe five today. A park homer off herrmann. "I've been trying for over three weeks to get an appointment using your website and the phone of websites crashing the phone an hour and a half hold and then they hang up. Finally getting an appointment with New York State at Jones Beach for tomorrow morning. Why do I have to travel 30 miles each way? Go get an appointment for a vaccine. When I live in New York City, you mentioned that you opened up 17 pop up centers throughout the city. None of them. None of them are in northeast Queens that includes fresh meadows and Bayside and white stone and littleneck it, Douglaston. We have people here that also need the vaccine, and we're not getting anything when the closest place to get a vaccine is Hillcrest High School and they never have appointments. So why don't you consider northeast queens and try to get that improvement on the website, which is impossible on the phone calls to get through on that. Oh, number that you gave You have an hour and a half. Wait until you finally get to speak to But somebody if you get to speak to somebody at all a male. Thank you, Mr Mayor. Thank you a meal. Look, thank you for everything you're saying, because we have to continue to do better as the bottom line. I do want to make sure that folks in northeast queens get served better their arm or sites coming. A meal right now, we would be doing three times as many vaccinations a week or more if we had enough supply. And we've got to put this in perspective, a meal and Brian that we are still being starved of supply. I've called upon the federal government to demand that their pharmaceutical companies help Moderna And help Sizer that's still in area where we could see a lot more progress. I've called upon the central government state government to let us use second doses now and backfill the supply in the coming weeks. The things that allow us to speed up we need more help. And we want to have more sites and we want to serve northeast queens, better and other parts of the city. We have focused a site somewhere this year, Horrible impact of the Corona virus was the very worst where the most people died. Where we saw the most suffering and the most potential new suffering if we don't get people vaccinated, But we want to serve everyone in meal waiting an hour and half on the phone, certainly not acceptable at all. And I've been monitoring what's going on the phone line. Most people are having a much faster experience and that I'm very sorry you had the experience and all follow up to find out. If we have to add more customer service reps or whatever it is, we will do that immediately. But we need to get everyone served. And we have to keep just doing a better job. More sight. Better customer service, etcetera, and there is the Citi Field. We mentioned Yankee Stadium also Citi Field super site. Which is near all those neighborhoods that he mentioned about to open. You have a date on that. We're getting an exact date on Citi Field. It again is Citi Field would be up already if we had had the supply, So this is This is what's so frustrating New York City to be doing half a million vaccinations. Her weak right now, Uh, we just don't get the supply. And so my goal is to see a lot of these sites go to 24 hours and then to go deeper into any community that doesn't have enough sight. We could be doing so much on the ground right now, but we just are not getting all the help we need. And I'm again. Two things I think could really make a difference. Getting the entire pharmaceutical industry to participate in the vaccination production. That's something That I think is an area of tremendous possibility and getting that greater freedom to vaccinate with the second doses we need state and federal help to get that done. One more follow up on that the city promised to release data this week. Outlining where vaccine recipients live by ZIP code. Is that data still coming? No, it's well. I won't be very clear. I'm the person who made the promise. I said. We will do Zip code data. I did not say it's ready this week. I got to find out the day it will be ready and will publicly announce when we'll have it by This data. There's a lot to be done to get it right on all this. That's why we wanted to make sure first to give the citywide data. Which I announced on Sunday, obviously very sobering. Point out. There are real disparities that we need to overcome in one of the ways we're going to overcome those disparities in vaccination is with targeted efforts like we're doing today. Yank. You see him? That's just for Bronx residents. That's a part of the way to bring greater equity. But we will be publishing zip code data so people can see exactly how vaccination is going and I'll get you a date for sure on on when that's gonna be We had to call in this week for a taxi and ride share drivers now that they've been put on the vaccine eligible list about how they protected themselves so far in acknowledging the context of the already Devastating pre pandemic finances for so many yellow cab medallion owners because of all the competition from the APP cos etcetera crashing their market value, and we got a call from a driver named Dorothy from Brooklyn who had a question for you that I couldn't answer. So we invited Dorothy to call back today for ask the mayor and she did. So, Dorothy. Hello again, And here you go. You're on with the mayor. Yes. Good money, Brian. Good morning.
