"This guy. You look at you look at the stat line, not tell the tale guys thirteen carries thirty seven yards rough day on the ground we figured that was probably going to be the case two point, eight yards per carry. But if you look at the other things, the great catch on the touch and that was not a great thrower by burroughs a great play call it was a great you know sell by borough. But the throw is it was a difficult one for Bernard catch and he caught it on fourth and goal got into the end zone for the lead got the touchdown scoot down here you see the five catches for fifty nine yards on five targets tied everything thrown his way the other thing boys and Girls Giovanni Bernard and pass protection just remains to be something that is just so valued. There was one specific instance where they showed it on the replay where he picked up a blitz there were others that maybe didn't see close up. But. He just is a very you can kind of see wise captain. You can see why is valuable guy in some people are like white paint to running backs like that this just does everything and he doesn't always get touches and the carries because of Joe Mix but he just does everything and he does it well, and he even had a nice little return at the end of the game there to make it a little interesting with four seconds to play. He got him in in pretty good field position on a kick return so. Kudos to Geo Bernard tip of the cap to him. He he played very very well, and a guy that I just continue to be impressed with tyler boy one of one Interestingly, he threw a pass pretty pretty cool to play a little trick play in the van. bengals right. After that went to a jet sweep. So it was just kind of play after trick play I think they were trying to really. Shell game what was going on on their offensive line and trying to do different things. So a tyler boy just with another outstanding day today t higgins with another. Great Day here you can see the seven yard run from T, and then of course, tyler boy eleven catches one hundred, one yards and a touchdown on thirteen targets decent day from. Aj Green back to back weeks seven catches eighty, two yards still the thirteen targets there were a couple there that you just. You wish that he had and you kind of feel like. A couple of those were maybe ones that could the old Aj of have that could Aj from two thousand, sixteen, twenty, fifteen had that catch. I don't know but coming off of what's essentially I think about one hundred and eighty or so yards over the last couple of games. So hundred ninety yards or so of the last couple of games. So good couple of weeks by aged green productive couple of weeks for major green tea higgins five catches seventy one yards in the great yards after the catch touchdown that he had, he is emerging at it as a big time threat for this team. I mentioned Geo Five, fifty nine in the passing game. Mike Thomas had a couple of Nice catches did have a bobble on the on the in a drop. On one play that was disappointing but came up with a couple nice plays in this game drew sample Nice game today did have the one ball knocked away in the end zone very reminiscent of maybe another. But this one was you know I felt that there might have been surpassed interference on that one five catches fifty, two yards stepped up pretty big this week I thought I thought he played pretty nice five catches on six six targets there. There are some instances with Joe Borough, were you wish you know the the awareness potentially of some back back-end pressure that you know unfortunately it's just it's difficult to see can have is in the back of your head but some quarterbacks just learn to feel that pressure a couple of times today he did not in one of which was at Myles Garrett. Act from behind there was another one where he almost got the ball knocked away from them. While they were driving to score he, he fumbled the ball three times today luckily only lost one of them. So yeah. Dairy Phillips with an interception a great one a great one to begin the game by Darius Phillips at the end a couple of big completions including the ball going right through his hands for the game winning touchdown ridiculous catch by People's Jones In the end zone there by. Again, you know Philip I gave him credit at the beginning of the game is a guy who Called a passive aggressively called some of the coaching staff in. Out on social media and came up right away with an interception, but then ended up playing not great football at the end there You know if you'RE GONNA YOU'RE GONNA put that stuff out there. You gotta be able to to walk the walk as well. in the only kind of partially did it with that interception? It was a great play. The interception was a great play, but there were other completions in look I think I know he's still young player I know he's getting snapped and I know he's getting starter snaps for for really kind of the first time You know you had some last year and then add some this year but. This kinda who he is and I don't I don't know that he is a at this point of viable number one number two corner for for a team even though he may still be sending as a player it's just too up and down. Up and down he needs to get a little bit more consistent and it's not just so big play lead up a big play big play lead up the big play he's he's gotta find some consistency there Cincinnati did okay. will against the run sort of today we'll talk more about that was an absolutely killing was more just Baker Mayfield making plays being very accurate and Baker Mayfield doing what he does against the bengals. Seventeen touchdowns in six games seventeen touchdown passes and sixteen. That's just crazy crazy. Josh binds leading Tackler you can see here. A, lot of hits on Baker or some hits on Baker. But look goose egg all the way down the SATCOM. Can't win a game if you don't bring down the quarterback at least once at least not usually you can't. Randy bullock perfect on the day for extra points to field goals not much from the return game. I did mentioned the one from Geo- and then you know an eleven yard return from. Alex Erickson. So nothing really there Brandon Wilson not really looking like the same returner from a year ago. Look at Baker Mayfield Twenty twenty, two, twenty, eight, he there was a point where he hit eighteen. He might even beyond that, but he set a franchise record for eighteen straight completions against the Cincinnati bengals twenty, two completions for two hundred, ninety, seven yards, five touchdowns unbelievable cream high. You can see here as a team they were under one hundred yards I mean that was manageable. I was manageable and that was kind of one of the things that the bengals wanted to do. They wanted to be able to stop the run at force. Baker to beat him to Baker's credit he did. but you know Lou Anna Room Oh out golden in company kind of gave him the assist I think and they're not. They're not finding ways to generate pressure upfront. They're not finding ways to come up in clutch situations and I feel like a broken record because I feel like I say that every single week. Every single week but bears repeating. You'd see here the numbers Rashard higgins six catches hundred ten yards big game from him caught all six targets. He just seemed to be open in the middle of the field all day. Long Harrison Bryant four catches fifty, six yards and two touchdowns on five targets talk about a day. Donovan..

"While you're here I say we're not going to go that long and we're already at like twenty minutes on us but we're GONNA get to the tale of the tape and some other things in just a second. But I guess we will take our full allotted time that we have here. Thanks for joining US Anthony Enza with since jungle dot com and the orange and black insider angles podcast. Happy. We've got a ton of live listeners is awesome. Happy to have you guys with us despite the circumstances despite the circumstances it's great heaven all of you watching and checking out the show appreciate it. We appreciate all the support in and not only four the post game show the orange black insider but also ason Sims orange orange is the new black podcast new stripe city channel, as well as Matt Mimic and all of his chalk talk episodes that's on our channels there too so I. Appreciate the support I know sometimes, it may not be easy talking listening about the Cincinnati. Bangles when. Things aren't really going their way in today today guys. Guys and gals today sucked. That result suck because I. I actually felt that this was a critical game not only really for the bengals maybe to salvage their season but also for Taylor and company to to salvage the reputation even if they were to win thirty, four, thirty one. and. You know it was a a barely went. You could. You could spend that and say look I mean they lost by the way? I'll share this right now I suppose They lost three starting offense Lineman in the game. they. Joe Borough threw for four hundred yards played well, and you know you can Kinda spin that positivity and you would be then foreign to team and you feel pretty good about winning a team with a winning record beating eighteen with a winning record at that point and. Just didn't happen bobby. Hart we were trying to get more information TRAE Hopkins, left the game with a concussion. We know that Joan Williams left the game with a neck issue that happened very shortly after the myles Garrett. Play, where he beat the heck out a Joan Williams and Strips Act Joe Borough. So we have to see what happens there. That's that's not promising. He had John Williams had really been playing pretty well up to that point. So those two guys were out for a majority of the game and then Bobby Hart left late in the Game Akeem Adedeji came in. And played in you had essentially what was. Four backups in a guy. If you look at the lineup, you're on Cincy jungle, four kind of true backups or guys that were backups are forced into starting roles because of injury and other issues and one guy who's barely clinging onto his original starting spot based on up and down play and that would be Michael Jordan. So you've had Fred Johnson at left tackle. He had a fall star billy price had some snapping issues in a penalty Alex. Redmond pretty quiet day from his part. So I think he played relatively well, but he is technically a backup they wanted to feel that spot and then of course, you had energy coming in at right tackle at the end of the game for Bobby Heart so not good their one piece of good news before we go into the tale of the tape I'm GonNa share this this came across the news wire before. Kickoff, and it's one that may have been a bit. A bit predictable but. The bengals are hosting Quinton Spain guard a guy who is essentially one of the best available guys out there for interior offensive line in terms of options left. So we kinda thought that this was maybe going to be in a possibility I would potentially I think that he would potentially sign at this point with with Cincinnati I think there's mutual interests. It's just a matter of you know if they do get that deal done, does he go to left guard? Does he go to Reich are which kind of wet is more natural spot as he goes to right guard and then what happens at left guard when sue a fellow returns which should be a couple of probably right after the by so Stuff there but at least some good news for for the Cincinnati Bengals as. They. Try and recover from this one. So let's just take a brief look I. Think we all know at least some of the stats at this point but let's take a look at some things. These are your statistics for Cincinnati bengals borough with really an incredible aside from that. I hate to call it a rookie mistake but a a play in the end zone he would have loved to have back and really if Kinda look at the score again, that kind of makes a difference after bengals get any semblance of points you know we may be. Talking about a different result but again, SHOULDA would've cut in a number of that was. You know there are many many other issues besides at red zone interception and he more than atoned with it with four touchdowns of his own three through the air four, hundred, six, yards, thirty, five or forty, seven, thirty, four yards rushing and a touchdown. The great one was the call on third down in the fourth. Corps go ahead Dr where he to build into a quarterback draw where he scooted forward for about ten yards and a first down. So that was that was pretty awesome. Giovanni Bernard..

"Here covering tight ends and covering running backs that can catch the football has been a bane of the bengals existence. For as long as I can remember covering the team in watching him as a fan that has been a major major issue with the Cincinnati bengals defense. Guess what today. For a Baker's touchdown passes went to tight ends and running backs three tight ends to to rookie. Harrison Bryant want. David Joke who who is disgruntled himself, and of course, one Kareem Hunt and then he had the final one at the two people's Jones for the game winner. So five touchdowns, four of which one two tight ends and running backs. That's an issue and it remains an issue. The bengals tried to address that with a lot different acquisitions in the draft and free agency, and it still isn't being cured still is not being cared. We'll. We'll show you some more numbers in a minute. Before we do. Friends I gotta share some something that came up I'm sure a lot of you have seen this, and this is part of the reason why ended up taking the air a little bit later than I had hoped for today. Something occurred at the very end of the game. And shortly after the game with a very Disgruntled bengals veteran a guy who should be. By all accounts in their ring of honor. If they ever make one a guy who's Jersey probably could or should be retired based on what he has done. He has to sacks away from the franchise all time record. There's rumors now that he will be traded, and if you see here, I'm sharing a twitter screen a tweet from Carlos..

Houston Texans Fire Bill O'Brien as Head Coach

"Texans owner cal McNair has fired bill. O'Brien as coach in GM as of Monday afternoon the. HOUSTON, Texans are on a winless start to the season and. There have been some really questionable trades and other. Moves that Bill O'Brien has made or not made to improve this football team. I think unfortunately, the McNair family who owns the the Houston Texans I think they're seeing a window that is remaining open for a championship as you have to Shawn Watson a very exciting quarterback and you know you've invested on the offensive line, but you got rid of his best weapon in De'andre Hopkins and. Shed some other players Bill Brian is ruffled feathers of players in the past. If. You remember seeing this team on. or seeing Bill O'Brien on hard knocks. He's got kind of a mouth on him and you know it. It fires people up for sure but it also can work against him. Rub some people the wrong way and you know I think it was time for the at least the Texans felt it was time for them to move on but that's that's two vacancies in one their. Head coach and GM. more details to emerge there but that look I mean we can criticize the Bengals in what they've done. Really. Houston's been pretty successful. They've made a lot of at a lot of playoff appearances and they beat the Bengals a couple of times in the playoffs in the Andy Dalton era. So I understand that there's a little bit of envy there but for right now and how They hit what some of the moves they have made of late is really got to be called into question and. You know. Bill Brian now because of those controversial decisions is now out of a job,

"So things are trending in the right direction maybe a little later that we wanted to but that's All we can. We can ask for their so I see here the areas three, two, three having a discussion with my homeboy and we're debating tyler boy can replace aged green. Let's say you I. No, he's really good. But. It'll never be one of the top receivers in the lead. Time tabloid and by the way I'm going to be here for a couple more minutes Anthony Kazan was since he jungle giving you the post game show ear. Bengals. beat the Jaguars in week for thirty, three, twenty five. So Goodwin for the. Cincinnati bengals on their home turf in Joe. Blow's I land actually gets to be in front of at least some fans six thousand or so fans in attendance aside from all those cardboard cutouts. So you've got to feel like you feel good about that. But going back to that questionnaire from the area's three to three I don't I don't. Do their two different players, Aj Green and in Tyler Boyd two different skill sets other Boyd's slot. Guy Can't play wide out a bit but where he does the bulk of his damage is in the slot and quite frankly. As much as as productive as he was with Andy Dalton quite frankly I think he's going to be more productive with Joe Burrow because if you go back to Joe Boroughs Tastes in College at Lsu US Justin Jefferson a lot tomorrow chase was the outside threat deep threat last year made a lot of big plays that way but. His security blanket where he wanted to go to sustain drives moved the chains was in Jefferson entire boy is. In that mold, he's a guy who catch almost everything thrown. His way will move the chains. There's not gonna be a fifty yard bombs all the time tyler with there's going to be a lot of twelve yard plays a lot fifteen yard plays eight yard plays, and those are the blaze that sustained drives, frustrate teams entire out defenses. So if if you're wondering What Tyler boys viability is he's coming off two straight one, thousand yard seasons I'm assuming if he stays healthy and productive this year, we're going to see the same here in tyler point is known as one of the top receivers in in the League is known as one of the top slot guys in the league. But what you're what you're doing. Then if you're saying, let's replace each agreeing with Tyler Moore that's not the bengals should do nor I don't think they are going to be doing that long term. The plan is t higgins is going to be your outside guy, get those jump balls, those deeper plays, that sort of thing, and then you've got were of your possession slot, Guy, tyler, Boyd's work with it's kind of Chad Tj, cushman's auto type of formula that the banks are trying to recreate a little bit. So you know it's it's really about how you use these wide receivers, what their skill sets are but Tyler Boyd is one of the top slot receivers in the NFL. Move around a lot. You can get him on runs which they did again today. So very useful very productive player and I assume he's got a handful of mice years left Cincinnati bengals great connection being built each he and Joe Borough but. Good Questionnaire Robert saying the key is keeping borough safe getting pressure on the opponents qb always Robert it's always a james are built on their lines teams rebuild otherwise yes. The franchise quarterback is always a mustache that's what you need to get by teams are built on their lines defensive lines can you get to the quarterback and can you protect the quarterback asking? GM. That's what. That's the name of the game. Can you protect your quarterback? Can you get to the other genes quarterback.

"The other just to kind of go around a little bit I wanNA share this just to update you all. In case you have not seen what has transpired around the league around the AFC north. Earlier, today the. The browns Browser Winning Football Games, you look your, they beat the cowboys in Dallas. To, go to three to three and one. Forty nine three in Dallas That's that's a big one in Dallas. Shockingly one three out a lot of people thought that would be the case with Dallas this year. So Cleveland's three in one they beat the cowboys forty, nine, three, eight. And then we've got the ravens would see where that Reagan's name is right there. The bottom thirty, one to seventeen. They beat Washington and they're three and one the bengals. Lay. Baltimore next week, and then of course, we know the fluid situation with the Kuenssberg shields game this week. Probably reschedule that whole family. So a big fluid. Situation there, but that's catching up a little bit. On what's happening around the? AFC North so. Look a lot of. A lot of positives to be taken hair. There are some other things that still need to be cleaned up. I. Think if you if you're thinking now you're going into Baltimore, you're ready. You know you're playing really really sound football There's improvement. But, again, early in the game bengals get an interception, they do nothing with it. You simply can't get eternal especially with his defense allowing a lot of passing yards, rushing yards you can't net turnover and get nothing out of it. The issue I mentioned earlier that ten point swing withdrew sample drops the ball and gets it yanked out of his hands in the end zone where the bengals should have had a touchdown turns around. Jacksonville gets field goal better team. That's probably a fourteen point swing so you have to. These are still some of the mistakes that need to be cleaned up the bengals hopefully Gino Atkins back next week in that'll help asked rush that L.. Runs defense you have to you have to hope that that is going to remedy a lot of the issues but. I mean is that something you want to you definitely want to hang your hat on if you're living in a room I, kind of feel like you gotta start making the adjustments we gotta start doing things to. Limit the damage and the yardage. Start doing that. So you know Gene Atkins is coming back I. Think next week so that'll help but. You know to how to what extent remains to be seen I mean after all, he hasn't practiced for longtime either really use her towards the latter training camp. and. He hasn't been playing football the either. So we're whereas conditioning at it I'm not really sure but we do know that he makes the pass rush go do that he makes this defense go he is when he is on, he is one of the best players the NFL for sure so. Hopefully he comes back and the bengals defense loosly there hopefully, the offensive line and they will need it next week they will need to continue this momentum. That they build today and I would expect it to get the start again. At. Right Guard. Based on what happened today and. So, you know hopefully he steps up and plays a similar, not even better game than he played today. So The offensive line is as we know, jober will make plays. With or without offense wine health. But you can. You can see when we had time today, which was throughout much of the day when he's comfortable. You can make plays and he will make plays you make place without. Every quarterback is better without pressure Zach. All the time and obviously you know we had eight last week and they really limited any kind of hits or anything on job era this. which was to see so. Here's a comment from from. Gavin my thing with Redmond, the line an versus the jags that the jags good edges they also could linebackers as well. Mike and Alex did great of getting to the second level in blocking them. You know who also had a pretty good game today was joan lanes I saw him working in space i. saw him stymie the Stymie his his defender on a couple of times some get out and do work on screen passes. Those Jonah, Ames's is steadily improving week-to-week as well. It looks like he's going to be very solid football player so Last year's draft isn't isn't completely lost I know drew sample had a couple of moments today but. We also had a couple of catches so Take up the what you will but a good foundational building. For the Cincinnati Bengals this week as we go forward again, one to one. You almost feel cheated a little bit with that record because you feel like you could have or should have two or three wins at this point especially in one of the easier parts of your schedule. Now, you're kind of getting into the meat of your scheduled Baltimore you'll. You'll get Cleveland again Pittsburgh all of that. Tough Games in the banks need to start finding ways to Wendy's scans and squandering opportunities when they get a turnover. Throwing interceptions in the red zone. Whoever's fault that is? If the offensive line issues from previous weeks continue. Where we're GONNA see. More struggles come up in these next few weeks. But if we see still some improvement off of This game because this game showed improvement offer the previous ones. And that's kind of what we can ask for. That's kind of what we can hope for and. That's what's GONNA lead to wins. They just need to start cleaning up the finer details of the gays start again, the closing I wasn't pressed today at the end of the game. Bengals were up by eight points. The got the ball back and they needed at least some form of points to really shut the door on the Jaguars and they gotta feel Golden. March downfield outfield to their credit. But you know. They also allow Jacksonville to kind of move down the field with and get a touchdown era. Excuse me another field goal laid to set up the onside kick that sort of thing. So you know you you can't. You gotta be able to close games. You gotta be able to put your own throat. So to speak of your opponents and make sure that there is not a comeback in play for them in an even today I mean eleven points with a couple of minutes left. You felt pretty good about things but. You you Kinda hope even even when Jacksonville's kind of plane hurry up in Bengals are playing prevent that sort of thing you kinda hope that. They learn that to shut that door a little more quickly in a little more will more force than they have. But Hey, you know technically to one score game, right so that streak of fifteen straight losses or ties in wants four games that is done that F, a record they tied last week that is done Cincinnati bengals learn at two losses start season got the tie and now the win..

"Catches on eight targets ninety ours it's pretty good folks thi higgins four catches seventy seven yards on seven targets. There was maybe a dropper to in their t higgins by the good. The good thing I saw from from T was. When he when he may be missed a play. Or they were ball that. Have caught me maybe made a good play he seemed. Right after to make a very nice play to atone for the mistakes which you like especially from a rookie wide receiver but he is emerging as a threat on this team drew sample had couple nights catches between the twenties. You see the three judges on five targets in I mentioned the two non connecting targets. There were unfortunately in the Red Zone Season Carter with a twenty, four yard catch on tate with fifteen yard catch, and then of course, you see and we mentioned in pre game show. John. Ross. Inactive. So that. Wonder. where he is, he's on the sideline government is plagued by Jordan Evan on the day and interception he also had a shared sack. So pretty good game for him who's filling in for Logan Wilson who is dealing with a concussion Of other things, the Sean syms leading Tackler, which I guess you assume when Jacksonville was kind of in the come from behind mode would be the case. Sims getting more looks as. The bengals are still waiting for trains to come back. Jessie Bates was flying all over the field had tackled loss and. Pass rush was really just didn't get MINHSIU three times, but a lot of those were covers, sacks, Andrew Brown getting sacked or Devon's getting the sack and then our Lawson Davis Inter sharing one you know I think again mentioned was throwing the ball off towards the end of the game and then you know definitely two of those three were coverage sat. So Bengals even get to the quarterback more regularly and do some things. A little bit better on the pass rush front. So That's something they're going to need to clean up going forward. Some of the negatives unfortunately while let's continue on special teams here, I mentioned randy bullock for for a long of forty six yards army. Through kicking field goals then of course, perfect on extra point. So you like that Kevin Uber will the ball once. So you know the Bengals at one point went for a fourth down in shore from their own thirty three yard line So they didn't call Kevin Uber's number much this week, and then of course, Rand Wilson having Returning kickoffs, the Bengals, which is not really usual for him. He's usually whether one of their better players especially the special teams. that's kind of a little bit of a snapshot of the stats some other things to point out in some negatives unfortunate when you look at the receiving. Receiving numbers, AJ, green out like a sore thumb here one catch for three yards on five targets as not getting done. know unfortunately, there are some passes that are thrown his way where it's pretty tight coverage There was you know maybe an opportunity for deep all early in the game didn't connect and then you know they're just it's just not working and this was this was the game I thought that. Aj. Green would have it would have been the get right avery degree mark. I just felt like bring. All retrying him the ball the jaguars were susceptible against the past, and unfortunately it just wasn't so for AJ. Green. In this week's game, only one catch for three yards started him on a couple of fantasy teams. Yikes. The let's if you look at the stats here. This is some these things on by where you say okay, this is. A little a little sketchy twenty, seven completions for Gardner mentioned three hundred, fifty, one yards in two touchdowns indicative of a lot of big plays. Now, at the end of the game, the Bengals went more kind of prevent look kept things in front of him in a day allowed mentioned Kinda take up a take what was in front of him and let guys get some yards after the catch, your three, hundred, fifty yards, not ideal in terms of past defensive by the way, the bengals pass defense was one of. Pass defense. So you know. unfortunately, not the case. Hey. They won. So that's. Seventy Gary seventy, five yards for James Robinson undrafted kid making plays. He had a couple of Nice runs and you know unfortunately. Run issues, kind of kind of continue Gino Atkins Absent Obviously, Mike Daniels absent and You know that's having an effect on a lot of different areas on defense. and. Then, of course, you see Kinda the plays Dj charge had a real nice game. Viscous Chenault had a couple of Nice plays. They're giving up some plays unfortunately, and then of course, the miles Jaguar exception there. So That's kind of some of the tale of the tape if you will in terms of statistics, one of the things I. Do want to point out and hey, the offensive line played a lot better today offensive line played a lot better for the Cincinnati bengals in a tip, your Cap Alex Redmond, tip your cap doubts Redmond he came in there and I think a lot of us myself included we're going to be cynical about him stepping in as a starting right guard and potentially. You know is he going to be any kind of upgrade over billy prices? You're going to be any kind of upgrade over. The guys they've been putting putting in their even Xavier Sophie. Lo Who's in there for about a half. is going to be. Is He actually showed marked improvement over what they put out there. UNFORTUNATE-, unfortunately, for people like myself, we have to eat crow because Alex replay pretty it was the one holding penalty but played pretty well when you're putting up a three hundred yard passing performance when you're putting up. You know. Two hundred rushing yards. As, Cincinnati Bengals, you got dip your after the offensive line. They played very well, and you can tell they were making plays especially some of the things that were a couple of openings on the right side where tremen- wasn't look altruism perfect offensive guard. We may sit here next week and say, Oh, boy, you know he gets the start again and The familiar issue issues continue, but I will say this if you looked at the end of two thousand eighteen, you look to the end of twenty nine months and you look today there are games there or bobby art and Alex Redmond. Played together in obviously are comfortable next to each other and things are working especially in the run game things are working so. You'RE GONNA YOU'RE GONNA get the penalties. You're going to get some of those issues but. I don't know if you WANNA say Alex Redmond was the key to everything this week but. You gotta you gotTa give credits. You gotTA. Give Him and this offensive line group in General Jim Turner a they've been David dragged through the mud especially by people like myself to. You know dragged through the mud this week in few weeks because of the issues, it protected borough pretty well today a lot of pockets. All of that now here's the question. Is it? Because who they played today Is it a lack of talent by Jacksonville and it made the offensive line look better. Did, they make adjustments, the Alex. Redman effect really play into the success of what we saw today or. A little bit of both. I don't know Jacksonville only has one win to this point. So we know they're not a strong strong team but you know. I think. Obviously there's they've got some talent there. So I I'd like to think it's maybe a little bit of both Improvement House Rodman, all of that, but also maybe a little bit of a weaker opponent weaker defensive line than most other areas are most chains face rather so. That's that's kind of some things that immediately pop up. In terms of good bad for the Cincinnati bengals. I'm seeing a lot of stuff Aj just looked slow Josh, all and says. It's almost a little. May Be slow but also maybe a little tentative There are a lot of in icy that he he's Kinda when he hits the ground and gets tackled over these past breakup and there's a big tangled pile up players I. See him Kinda get up and hobble a little bit. He's. You know he's Kinda shown a little more pain and grimaces than I'm accustomed to with Aj Green Being Cincinnati bengals. So you.

"And black kids that are bengals podcast. Happy to be joining you all being able to talk about a Cincinnati Bengals win for the first time in a long time. It's great to be talking about a win last year Cincinnati Bengals, didn't get a victory until we twelve they finally get one in week or this week. So I guess progress there made a little progress last week with the Thai and took of some baby steps in now they are one to one. Feels good to have a win? We'll talk about that. We'll talk about a lot of different aspects of the game of the Cincinnati bengals against. The Jacksonville Jaguars but you also have to look at a one one record in almost wonder what could have been right. You look at what happened in week one against the chargers. Goal issue at the end of the game. And then, of course, you look at the time last week you may say, okay, they are net loss against Cleveland but. Is a team that could could have two or three wins right now easily. If, not for their own mistakes and own issues. But Hey, there back in the mix one June one we're talking about a win Joe. Borough. Looks Great and a lot of different areas of the team every by the way the kicker I mentioned kicking issues we've lost the kicker this week looked excellent nailed four four attempts including quite a few in in the rain. So props to propsed randy bullock on that let's get you some statistics here actually before I do wanNA share this. is going to be sharing my screen here. I'm going to share tweet from the Maricic Pelley of. BENGALS DOT COM. For those who do not know We saw Joe makes. Appear on the injury report last last night on Saturday. Randomly with a chest issue, we didn't really know exactly what was going on a mercer comfortably reported that Joe Mixing was in the hospital for about three hours last night with with breathing difficulties in was running it was hurting his chest. So he knew this morning that he was going to be able to go and play but satellite a game time and quite frankly quite scary for Joe Mixing and of course you know he's dealing with this issue and then he goes just ballistic against the Jacksonville. Jacksonville. Jaguars has about two hundred yards from scrimmage the three touchdowns doing a lot of different things for the bengals offense. So It's it's great mixing his. Chest issue in all that is cleared up in he's feeling better. Obviously, he was a big big contributor to this week's and I had to sit through a game with my with my older brother who is still in earshot distance right now who sat Joe Mixing on his fantasy team I forgive him a little. Him a little. have to give them a little will jab there but good game from Joe, mixing and all share this year as well. These are some of the. Numbers of the game here. For, the Bengals in the Jaguars. So you see here, here's Joe borough passing three hundred yards. twenty five of thirty, six, three, hundred yards third straight three, hundred yard passing game for Joe Borough, and this a little bit more of the Chunk yardage variety. You saw there was about ten yards per. Attempt or ten yards per completion a little higher than that this week. In terms of his completions yards per completion twenty, five completions for three hundred yards and one touchdown reception. I think everybody if you didn't watch his game, you see all the rookie threw interception. That is not at all indicative of what happened on that specific play. Joe Borough twice targeted drew sample in the end zone. And drew sample did not come up with either catch both football's went through his hands wine. He kind of let it go through his hands bounced off his face masks bounce around in determining his hands and then into miles Jackson's and ultimately ended up being a red zone interception any ten on sweet Cincinnati Bengals against them. for the Jacksonville Jaguars took away touchdown. The banks were doing a great drive they started from believed their own ten yard line and drove the length of the field and Unfortunately sample that boggled through his hands. and. It became an interception Jacksonville drove down in. got. It feels all. Later job row tried to hit sample in the end zone. Again, it went through his hands a little more difficult catch but went through had both his hands kind of wrapped around the bomb. It just went right through his hands again fortunately for the angles ended up scoring touchdown a few plays later anyway on a Joe. Mixing Great. run after the catch out of a little swing pass from borough hurdled one defender took a shot after entering the end zone but a great play by Joe Mixing Bite. My point is when you look at this stat line from Joe Borough, this should be a lot more guardian and really should've would've cut a is kind of the name. Name of the game for the Bengals, this year and mentioned you know what could have been with the record, and then of course, you look at the stat line alone in this game couple of other drops that were made by receiver. So not you know not totally indicative in. Really, Job Rocca had an even more outstandings that stat line he does already but you know six touchdown passes through the first four games, two interceptions, another touchdown run on the ground, and then of course, he gets his first win as pro today. So Joe Borough coming as advertised, and then some folks I was talking with some people this morning saying. I think it was in our pre game show brought to you by near Kansas fear that he's making some rookie mistakes that you would expect him to make. But it is far fewer than I think the average rookie quarterback starting week one and especially with no preseason Make this. So I'm you know. At some point, you gotta tip your cap to Joe Borough say this isn't your typical rookie quarterback. This is a guy who's making plays like a better doing a lot of different things to help the team win football games and really again you get sometimes feel sorry for the guy because he's make plays in sometimes the Azer dropped weeks past the offensive line issues, etc. Kinda, came to fruition so. You know. You gotta tip your cap to Him. He's playing very well in the bengals definitely seemed to have their next great franchise quarterback at least four games so far I, mentioned Joe Mixon's Day what a what a day by him probably his best career game as Cincinnati bengals twenty five carries one hundred and fifty one yards, six yards per carry of course, the big one on the touchdown run over the right side kind of took it out, bounce it outside and had an open field. Took it all the way into the end zone two touchdowns on the ground another touchdown through the air, and you can see down here joe makes another thirty yards for a touchdown on six catches so. Close, to two hundred yards from scrimmage by Joe Makes, Re touchdowns, Geo Bernard Getting nineteen next to area. So that's pretty solid I'm even though the carries limited that was Kinda shocking given what we knew about Joe Nixon's chest Ish what we didn't know. From Joe. Mixes. Chest, issue. So. Yeah pretty good day from. Geo Bernard Unlimited touches. T hagans getting an end around for thirteen yards..

"Philadelphia had a big play touchdown opportunity Sanders beat Akeem Davis. Gathered on the left sideline badly once had a pretty Couple of steps on Davis Gay Sanders did once floated one look like it was going to be an easy touchdown and he just sailed it. So there's a lot of misplaced carson. Wentz is can have in some some you know. Mental hurdles that he's going through on the field there but I was not overly impressed with I was impressed with their pass rush but pass rush was going up against the offensive line of the bengals that is not impressive. So I don't know I don't know how much it tells you the prior week. The Eagles couldn't even touch jared Goff by the way Andrew Whitworth on that line was the highest rated pro football focus offensive lineman through two weeks. So the very next week they get eight eight sacks against the bengals go figure. I don't know I. It's it's gets out. We're, GONNA WE'RE GONNA get out of here in just a couple minutes it's getting kind of. Lather Rinse repeat unfortunately with some of the excuses in some of the same reasonings in these close games, it just gets frustrating because I assume for the locker room it has to be very, very frustrating because and I'll share this with you on just a second but I mean they're so close in, they just can't close and. It's it's a little. It's a little frustrating I'm share some again this is from Ben Baby. I'M GONNA share some quotes that he has some game quotes. From. Tyler Boyd. That are really. Pretty Pretty Interesting in pretty candid. So I'm going to share these with you here. Again, this is from baby of ESPN, dot? COM bengals Jon Boyd seeing Joe Burrow on the ground so much it sucks. It hurts me because I know how much Joe wants to win Let's go back to Ben's thread here. You can see this one right here bengals wide receiver boy later said he wants to fight anyone who hurts rookie quarterback Joe. Borough you gotTa love that you're at this point who to Boyd, who is your best receiver you gotta like his fire, his grit and his willingness to protect his quarterback and wanting him to obviously be upright. In. This one he also says, by the way, Joe is one of the toughest guys that I've ever been around haven't been around long this one guys. This one is a little worrisome bengals, wide receiver, Tyler Boyd on all the losing the last couple of years at starting to affect me it's starting to hurt a little bit i. don't want that to be a thing for us because we're a talented team. Homeboy Don't like hearing that and especially not from a guy who's one of the most productive players right now. Can't have your star players disgruntled and unfortunately this franchise when it when they have been losing unfortunately, it's been kind of a theme that there's their best players just kinda show quite a bit of public dissatisfaction. For the other thing hurting we have yet as we as we take this as we tape this program post game show that the ravens have yet to take the field against the chiefs. So there is still a divisional game to be determined on Sunday night football here however. The browns who were down in the third quarter twenty, two, seventeen to the Washington football team ended up beating them. So they are now to join the steelers who were losing to Houston. Ended up beating them. So they are now three now So the Bengals if they want to make any kind of postseason push, not only do they need to make massive improvements and learn how to win these close games, but they're going to need to probably speak those teams. They're going to need to beat the division teams. No doubt right They're they're going need to show those those teams that they can play with him in broken play with them I am. Petrified as to what? Will Happen to Joe Borough against the Pittsburgh Pass Rush and the Baltimore Pass rush as it currently stands in what we're currently seeing. The. Pittsburgh. Pass rush was already. Has already been an issue even when the bengals had some of their best offensive lines in the Marvin Lewis era and into now, Zach Taylor era it offensive line continues to be issue and I'm really worried about what that will look like. Later, this year the Bengals have the Jaguars next week, and then I believe they have the Ravens and week five. So another divisional game coming right around the corner for them. So. The. Playoffs don't talk about playoffs I. See a Josh, do Mora I like it. Look guys unfortunately this is not the the results out some of you may have expected this. There are a lot of people that actually expected the bengals just this was a rebuilding year I, think deep down we all felt that that was going to be part of it but maybe just the talent they brought in the transcended quarterback they brought in we thought maybe this would going this was going to be something where they make a playoff push they still can. Own. Two teams have. Not a great track record of making believe in since two thousand three, it's about ten eleven percent end up marrying the postseason that start to have yet to see an oprah to in one probably research that but I I assume it's still kind of akin to an Owen to start. So I mean look they're young team. They're young a Lotta spots including the coaching staff and there's a lot of room for improvement. There are talented pieces here I wanna say this before we get on Outta. We talked about Tyler. Boyd. I mentioned t higgins had those two. On Tate was activated today after being a healthy scratch last week, and then you had John Ross healthy scratch this week. So I in Mike Thomas by the way. Active again had a couple of catches today and he obviously is a guy that Zach Taylor's trusting in this offense so. I don't know what this means for John Ross going forward. It probably doesn't look good especially with t higgins grabbing two touchdowns today and showing you know size route running ability etc there. There's still a couple of rookie issues that popped up today for t higgins but I am impressed with him. And impressed with borough obviously but you know I think. Greens make catch his, but they're not the explosive plays Your best targets right now are higgins in in boy. Those are your most reliable targets in the offense in terms of making big-play scoring touchdowns. So you know I don't know what this means for John Ross I. Don't know if they're going to try and move before the deadline I don't know. What it means for Tate I mean, he had a couple of looks today no impact for him but he did have did force a pass interference penalty in the end zone but other than that stat sheet wise. Not a gigantic day for him after being inactive last week so. The wide receiver group is also still a work in progress even though there are a lot of talented dies. In that group and we'll have to see what happens who knows maybe Ross comes back and he's the guy who returns punts and Ericsson gets an act. I don't know I totally just. Thrown that one out there I don't know but That's something they're they're figuring out..

"I mean a lot of a lot of negative things here. Let's let's talk about how. This game ended in some decisions but the coaching staff and what's ahead for this team look you still WanNa say Zach Taylor are really young coach both in in years but also you know We're we're now nineteen games in two Zach Taylor's Zach, Taylor's head coaching regime, and he also never really held a true. Position on he kinda got elevated pretty quickly there in the NFL so i. Kind of learning you've got another Guy Brian Callaghan who you know fresh guy that he's also kind of in those same shoes Luana Room Oh guy who's been around the NFL and coach Nfl for quite a while. But never as a true defense fulltime defensive coordinator, he's kind of interim guy. So you have a lot of guys unfortunately still learning. And it shows it not only where these massive dry spell's on both sides of the ball occur and I, mentioned to start to start this game for four months in a row right. So on offense for the bengals and of course, the bengals are just Jecklin high they came into this game. I believe rated seventh against the past thirty first against the run so. Just. Total Jacqueline Hyde and the lack of whether it's on offense or whether it's on defense the lack of being able to take the game by the throat, make the plays that need to be made in crunch time and the game and get a win. That still plagues this team even with Joe Borough one of the most clutch players we've ever seen at the college football level and it's not. On Joe I'm not. I'm not saying that I'm just saying that this team still has yet to figure out ways to grab wins when they are there when you lose fifteen games I, fifteen games of a very well, I should say, should say lose because one of them is a tie but when you either lose or tie fifteen straight close games or one score games like the staff mentioned earlier. That ben baby throughout their via ESPN stats info. That's not That's not ideal. That's not deal. You gotta figure out ways to close in. That's on the coaches that's on the players that's on everybody You know when you're when you're up a touchdown. and. There's a couple of minutes left and you go out on defense and you give up to major pass interference plays within. Within three total plays. On a game on a game type possible game time drive. That's just I. Mean it's mind boggling. It's mind boggling the other thing with the coaching decisions in there are differing opinions on this and I understand but. A lot of people like myself question the final play of overtime. When the Bengals have the ball, they did have one a one time out I believe left but it was in one thousand, nine seconds I, get it in your own ten I get it. You're not really going to do something that's likely going to win you the game but. My my stance is is and I understand your quarterbacks been hit all day too by the way I. Understand you don't WanNa do that maybe there's even a small chance of a pick-6 and you'd get the loss out of it. I understand that So there are a lot of stances against my opinion that I do I understand. I understand why? In some ways that call was made however, you drafted a franchise quarterback that you want obviously throwing the ball often. Before that tie, you are to sixteen as a head coach and you're not winning games. In earlier in that game, you decided to punt a ball ball away on your first possession I believe that. Was a fourth in short? In the opponent's territory, you don't go for it there, and then at the end of. You also Neil so you have a lot of just. Kinda give ups at critical critical points in the game, and that's where kind of where I have and then you're not winning games anyway prior to that some that's kind of where I get a little heated I guess in that decision. But look, I, mean, there were so many other opportunities as we say every week, there's so many other opportunities for the. bengals to to grab this. When you look at that amazing play, the Joe Borough made where he avoided tackles alluded as would be sacher and makes this awesome completion to t higgins. T Higgins got pushed out of bounds that play gets called back You see what the Bengal, what happens with the bengals gio gets him in in really good scoring range to. Really is the game the bengals get a touchdown. They end up winning the game and and you know they would put the eagles down by think eleven at that point. So you know it's Instead what happens you know you get the forty two yard pass to Geo Bernard on a little on a little bump off if a minus one yard Ryan another pass to t higgins at you get a first and goal. Then you have a five yard penalty on billy price, you have a one yard pass you have a sack in eight yard pass, and then you have to settle for the field goal which gives you a seven point lead instead of the eleven point lead. So it's it's the little things you gotta do these little things correctly, and unfortunately a lot of them start on starting end on the offensive line. That's that's the That's the bottom line I see someone kind of got passed me a little bit connor somebody said eighteen plus. Hurries think a look for that comment to share with you guys to. Its and at some point, if you're Joe Borough I mean, he's not gonNA publicly throw his teammates under the bus, which is admirable and that's what a quarterback is supposed to do you kind of fall on the sword a little bit but I would assume internally he's probably stewing about the amount of hits he's taken the amount of sacks he's taken and I I am sure Jim Turner Zach Taylor company or not comfortable with it as well. Could you be there was one hit today was a late egregious by me? Jackson. On Joe Borough that caused him to leave for snap but you know it's those types of hits that make just cringe and you gotta you gotTa protect your biggest asset, which is Joe Borough, and when he gets the time he has shown you what he can do even even when protection isn't perfect, he has shown you what he can do and it's it's very good So the bengals need to figure out something I think unfortunately for this year, it's going to kind be how do we mask it with what? We have and next year you Kinda you know you had your fun picks this year with quarterback and wide receiver and and those sort of things in maybe next year's draft is basically just a meat and potatoes where you do walled all offensive linemen in and load up on defense again. So that that may be what they're what they're thinking of, and unfortunately you know a lot of us thought that maybe the bengals would be one in two two and one at this point in their schedule based on the talent here. Here, they are up to one. I don't think every I don't think any of us would have predicted a tie unless you were kind of joking around a little bit but you know winless to start the Joe Borough era in three weeks. Not I don't think how we how we envision this I'm gonNA. GonNa go through some of these comments. Some of you are Comedians in here pretty funny Dennis mathers Hashtag Bungle forever reminds me, of Marvin Josh Hall says You know this might be the reality from Fred Dixon here both teams are bad i. don't. Yeah. I I you know I don't if the bengals are bad team, I wasn't overly impressed with the eagles either. Carson wentz looked like a guy that. Was Very pedestrian, he he he's scrap through and made a lot of plays with his legs today but overall two interceptions could have been way worse was hit a lot and if you if you want to really get. Technical about it that with the when the bengals took the lead the prior.

"You got feel for Joe. Borough who you know, get some that that engineers this touchdown lead at the end of the game here defense defense breaks at the end yet. In this jekyll and Hyde nature they they held strong in overtime and thanks to a couple of penalties by the Eagles So you know. Very very up and down day for the defense. One of the things they did do as I mentioned though is get those takeaways and what the bengals failed to do on offense for all the great things that Joe burrowed was able to do. They were unable to capitalize on. Turnovers they only had three points off of the two turnovers and when you get those turnovers not only can not afford to have. Field goals instead of touchdowns but to get no points out of some of these turnovers, that's a big deal and the the major reason for that unfortunately is because the offensive line cannot protect borough. They cannot open up rushing lanes for Joe. Mix. Giovanni. Bernard and they are committing penalties that ended up killing drives if you look here. You can't start the game. Six place only twenty, one yard punt three plays netted yards punt second quarter three plays three yards, punt five plays, four yards punt you get a field goal finally. Towards the the middle end of the second quarter, and then the bengals hit a groove here they had the the field goal touchdown touchdown and a field goal there. So they hit a groove late, but you can't start the game with. Four punts, especially with one of those being three plays, eight yards often interception where you start at your own forty four yard line You just you can't. That's that's not going to win you football games and you can call into the. You can you can call Taylor company on the carpet for? Some of the early play calls, you can call you know all kinds of different things but you know at some point, these players do have to execute and they have to they have to be able to play better. Now, the one thing where you got to point the Finger Zach Taylor Jim Turner Brian Callaghan is being basically stubborn and obstinate about the status of their offensive line for to really two off seasons they really liked what they had last. Year in Cordy Glenn in Jona Williams Will Gina Williams got hurt cordy Glenn was I guess hurt the entire basically the entire season it really liked this Fred Johnson. Kid they picked up while you know to starts into this season he got benched at halftime today and billy price comes in billy price had a couple of Nice drives but then and true billy price fashion major holding penalty Stahl drive late in the game another false start penalty and. Old. Demons come to roost it at right guard there. So Unfortunately, the bengals have not made heavy draft investments in recent years at beat. You know first round second round picks really in offensive lineman. I know Jona Williams I know billy price being the outliers there but really stockpiling the other positions is is kind of what I'm referring to and for the last two offseason Zach Taylor Jim Turner Company have really been promoting the status of this offensive line and it's been atrocious. You look here I'm GonNa Switch. Again, we're we're looking at NFL DOT com their stat page Let's let's go. Down here on their defense count up two sacks for Brandon Graham, two sacks for Derek Barney one and a half for Jalen Mills. There's five and a half alone right there six and a half another one from Fletcher Cox Seven and a half one from Josh Sweat and another another half from league, Jackson there to give them eight sacks in the game. Now, not every single sack was just pure report blocking by the Offensive Line Joe Borough did run into maybe one or two of those so I mean and and That tends to happen from a player that likes to Ad Lib and tries to maneuver around the pocket. You're gonNA live with that. But eight sacks is eight sacks. You can't win football games with eight sacks and you can't win football games if you're giving up eight sacks and you can't run the football if you're running the football well and you just can't pass protect that's one thing but you're not doing either and and really these it's no coincidence at all that if you go back to these drives, the field goal drive the. Eight play fifty six yard drive for a touchdown again, the ten play seventy seventy, one yard drive for a touchdown, and then the other field goal drive. There was actually some capable blocking on those drives. It is no coincidence that that is where Joe Borough tore apart the Philadelphia Eagles. So you can't you can't win in some. I mean even if Zach Taylor called a perfect game or you know on offense or Lou Romo dialed up with certain things that he did just you can't win when you updates acts you can't and it's The bengals can try and mask things as they want up front in terms of scheme in in. Trying to mask the weaknesses if you will. But. Unfortunately. Some of these high investments that have not paid off billy. Price. And and these other investments that are you waited until day three to invest Michael Jordan Down Day again you had Xavier. Sufi, fellow. Free acquisition he's not even on the field today. I mean you're getting what you're putting into the offensive line. You're seeing that as the by product in terms of investment, and that's just kind of the bottom line jona Williams did I have to go back and look at the tape? I do think the John Williams did play pretty well, today didn't really hear his number called for negative reasons but do you know? I may end put my foot in my mouth there I gotta go back and look at look at kind of some tape on that but you know he and Hopkins remain kind of the linchpins on the line and it's to average to above average players at those spots and then you've got a lot of wildcards at those other spots. So you know.

"Well have you recovered yet? Steady Bangles in Philadelphia Eagles faced off in week three and like one of their most recent. Clashes in ended in tie once again, this time with Joe Borough and Carson wentz going at it head to head. We are coming at you with the post game show here where we started a little later than usual just because of overtime and kind of had to get set and everything. But appreciate you joining us I'm Anthony Costanza was CINCY jungled dot com and the orange and black insider. Bengals podcast. Happy to have you with us. You can get all of our shows on any number of audio platforms after the fact or US live on the orange black insider youtube channel and Cincy jungled dot Com facebook page where we stream live. So happy to have you join US despite the result here I don't think a lot of fans thought that the Joe Borough era would start off winless. Oh two in one that. Oh, so rare third column that occurs in the NFL yet seems to be something that. In terms of frequency across the League seems to be pretty frequent with the Cincinnati bengals happened to couple of times under Marvin Lewis and now Zach Taylor gets tie and yet again, the Cincinnati bengals have not been able to close a close game. be really under Zach Taylor's watch or. Marvin Lewis is watch interesting stat I'M GONNA, share my screen, and share some things with you here. interesting stat I'm going to kind of go back and forth between twitter and between The some stats and everything for a look at this is from Ben Baby who joins us on the program to actually start the season a couple of weeks ago he's great gas with ESPN but check out this when the bengals have tied the longest winless streak in one score games in. NFL. History with fifteen matched the thirty eight to forty one Chicago cardinals. So obviously now we're looking at three in a row this year alone looking at You know I believe it was nine eight or nine the previous year. Then there's probably a couple of others there from. from Marvin Lewis that are included there. So this team cannot close they don't know how to close. Don't they drafted a quarterback who is Known as a closer a guy who is known as a step on your throat kind of guy and and Joe Borough obviously, and he's shown quite a bit of that through these first three games. But the bengals aren't getting in the wind call There's a lot to talk about with this game. There are a lot of opinion some of them strong's may be bound to be some agreements with what I'm saying with what other fans are saying and with what the. Talking heads around other platforms are saying but let's let's do this. I'M GONNA I'm GonNa say this. Let's try and keep it civil I received a couple of tweets today that we're not very civil and we're a little bit unprovoked released. So trying to train hey, bengals fans are all irritated right now we're not happy with the way the season started. So we try and keep a civil as we as we talk about some things if you can look. Danny Varez don't you dare throw Joe under the bus I'm not throwing any. I'm not throwing Joe under the bus at all. That's not where I was going with that there are. There is a lot to like from Joe Borough and to me I almost feel like this was an improvement off game last week He looked sharper this week in in saying something based on what we saw against the browns where he set rookie records for completions etc I want to this is the NFL dot com score page So I'm going to walk you through some interesting stats of the day some things to note on drives and I think this the that kind of tells the tale of a of a tie by the way for those of you I'd be interested to hear does it time feel like a loss to you almost kind of? Like a loss, you watch five quarters of. NFL football and. I don't know you just you don't you you. Of feel cheated I guess. So I mean I it feels closer to lost to me than it does a win. That is for sure even though as a road game in even though a lot of people didn't think Cincinnati bengals would be very good. This year you know it still feels like a loss and not a not an easy pill to swallow, but if you look at. Borough here thirty, one of forty, four again, high volume of passes and You know that's that's to be expected. Bengals aren't running the ball. Well, we'll get there in just a second three, hundred, twelve yards, two touchdowns zero interceptions even higher completion percentage one, hundred, five quarterback raining today for Joe Burrow. He was not the reason that the bengals did not. Did Not, come out with a win today there You know it was an a an absolutely perfect day by Joe. Borough. But he made a lot of plays. There were a couple of plays that he ended up making. It would have been absolute highlight reel plays that unfortunately were either called back or what have you so you know big day from Joe. Borough has five touchdowns and zero interceptions in his last two games has only one interception three game so far this year he's being efficient with the football. He is being pinpoint accurate on these on these crossing routes in these drag routes across the middle has an enormous rapport built with tyler. Boyd. We'll get. We'll get more on bouygues comments after the game in just a second pretend catches one, hundred, twenty, five yards on thirteen targets Tyler Boyd Third Down Conversion Machine the big play. Giovanni. Bernard you know he had a he had a big run at the end there that seemed to have ice the game but unfortunately..

"Especially because the Primetime Games many of them are in division. You're always going to get a Bengals steelers game on Monday night football. You're always going to get a browns bengals game on Thursday night football. You guys start winning these games and the Bengals do not have a great drive of success in when he needs games and I know the job is bringing the clutch gene I know that he is bringing a high level of production. But if the rest of the team is not following with him and you're still losing these types of games are still losing them in. points. But if you're still losing them in somewhat embarrassing fashion, you've got you gotta ask who's responsible got ask why and these ours these are. Big. Question Staff. I'm going to get out of here though appreciate all of you tuning in. Thanks for tuning in here I know it's late for many of you. I think we all know there are more questions than answers at this point in the season I know that it's still very early bengals can turn things around in quite honestly for those of us who need thought bengals can win anywhere from six to nine games this year. We kind of felt like the early part of the season was going to be rough. We felt like this part of the season, there's going to be growing pains and even from the Great Joe Borough in his immense college season, we knew that there were going to be growing pains however. Still Stings own to stings and. The. Wave the, losses have. Sting and when you go into and you start own wine in the division. That's not a good way to start in this. Again, these first two games seemed pretty winnable. Whether You actually looked at the Games. If you look at them beforehand and he said no way, the bangles are winning other these games or if you changed your mind because of went transpired in either of those games, you have to look at these inside the bengals squander to opportunities in a in a season that. Seems to be kind of open because of so many different issues presented with this preseason this unique preseason. But. Unfortunately the bengals our own to. And they've got along I guess now a week and a half they've got the eagles in week three. It sounds like Mike Daniels and door Gino Atkins should be back for that game the Eagles as we sit here tonight or currently own one surprising loss against the Washington football team. So we'll see what happens with them in week two but things do the heal up hopefully they'll also have. Sean. Williams. And you know maybe a few weeks down the road also get trade Wayne's back. "That but at some point. You gotTA. Do what you can do. You can't protect that quarterback and it's getting. It's getting scary back there. I go back to what I was saying about the the deep balls to in the in the deep plays the big plays. You'd like to see that more more frequently with this offense but is there even an opportunity given the protection issues? Bagels like to spread things out with a lot of different wide receivers because that's what you'll borough did Lsu a Lotta different options and granted he's doing well, he's hitting these these short crossing routes getting the ball out quickly high percentage passing. In his in his highly accurate, he's taking care of the football but you know when you have in, you need these five to seven step drops to keep opposing defenses. Honest. Are you GONNA be able to run that with this offense applying you're out there and if so do we have to wait until week fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen? Weeks, seventeen sort of you know with the by fire and what I'm saying. Are The bengals going to need to wait until bad late season surge the running game to take shape forge overrode to be able to throw the ball deep and things clicking maybe some of you who've already accepted that because this is a rebuilding year. That's okay. But at some point. Or consecutive years of losing. A lot of regression in those for years, and now we have a new franchise quarterback. A lot of re-signed. Core, slayers veteran court players on this offense. On a new look on his defense. In your own to. Defense has given up. I guess I would assume I gotta look but probably close to four hundred yards in the first two games alone Russians. Between the browns and the chargers what happens with the Ravens? What happens when the Ravens Tate when they take field against the Ravens That can be a three hundred dates. Not Looking forward to that if it's more of the same. "They've got a guy that can occupy blocks go upgraded that spot where he's going to be able to do more to run game and you are playing more three safety stuff because you ten home. Maybe we don't have to be an eight-man box that the the three four defense as much you can put a little bit more speed on the field. Because you've got a front seven they can. They can take Ron. I think he has can have a lot of impact is madness Show up on a statute right Anthony. I said read earlier. You know I don't want to discount. I you know. Readers probably the best quality free agency signing they made of this of this group of a lot of different quality. Guys I think guys are GonNa notice the most though are trae Wayne's and Josh binds unfortunately Interior Defensive Lineman just as you watch a game as you watch film and you look at a bunch of different things sometimes. Unfortunately that position gets overlooked so I think readers. The highest quality player in and are one of the most hidden needs that they needed to address. But I think Wayne's a guy we interviewed by the way entertaining one Wayne's gives you basically the same kind of stuff to rate us but at a higher level and I think you're gonNA see probably not pro bowl caliber play on at corner from Wayne's but I think you're gonNA see dre plus From from him and I and I think that's a good thing I think that's going to be okay. Got Jackson for another year on the other side. You now have Mackenzie Alexander. Those two guys play well with each other. They know each other well so I think that's going to be. He'll hit you'll notice him a lot and hopefully it'll be a little bit more in the positive and then I think binds. It's it's really hard to play any worse than the bengals. Linebacker did last year in general. So I think anything you put out there at. This point is probably going to be a somewhat significant upgrade so I I think binds will will show his worth do. Yeah that's a great big. Thank you guys for listening to. This has been the cincy juggle four draught roundtable. Definitely be sure to check. All these guys out gentlemen. Going on his heirs heirs eras. I I wrote the original note in my phone and I never changed back. I apologize my friend my friend when I was letting them do their altro but just to do a quick Rapa we. We asked these questions that I sent you earlier. Let's just get your responses for them before we wrap up here. So we'll Joe Borough expected consistence number-one one pick what's one thing that she thinks that he brings to the bengals with the number one thing has got to be leadership at the very beginning of the whole borough search in my mind for the savior of Cincinnati. It was always about getting a quarterback on a four year contract being able to have versatility being able to do things that free agency and just protecting the future of the franchise and more than anything whether you believe that job. Rose pick whether you believe that chase young as a pig is just about giving us your franchise financial support for the next couple of years to come to to set the groundwork to have success more than anything whether you'd think the boroughs instead or not this is like the vendors went thord like showed up at the end of Infinity Awards Zam name your three favorite prospects from the draft. That are great fits for the bengals. Denzel MEME Will be my number one. The next one will probably be will engage junior coming depending on how you feel about Willie gaze off the field issues on how you feel about that And then lastly let's go with like is this what they reach or is it just period period. Oh shoot I would've said Isaiah Simmons I it's you know like the best of the best. I guess I don't angels almonds. Okay that's going. I answered number three or four. You I said that if you had to trade and pick you would definitely want to trade that third round pick for on a guy from Washington D. Tackle for the fourth one. Yeah for trump For the fourth one. Which position out quarterback do you believe should have an instant impact on the Bengals Nixon? The penny were how to use. It could be linebacker if someone that I believe is going to be a stand out and coverage or whatever day one being able to be put on the field. Then that that would be my Go-to oh you know what above anything that they always makes me more than anything is when more Lewis I left and says you guys got to fix the line if you look at anything from up film standpoint and it's always about don't never had enough time don't never had enough time and at the very beginning. I didn't WanNa believe that. But you get you a superior or above average tackle. Then I think that that could ultimately changed the face of the franchise on Iran's name your favorite bengals draft pick of all time. Can you.

"Long-term one of the best. Maybe the best round of any linebacker spots he's very limited in coverage just because of what he was asked to do at Texas tech but for four or five speed at hundred forty pounds an explosive tackler guy. You can fly all around. The field brings off of the banks. Don't have the linebacker position so he might not be as a adapting coverage Davis gave their or maybe Williams junior but I think just from run defense point just an explosion point. He's exactly what they mean and I think if they were to take him they would have to take thirty three now. I don't think he makes it around three Anthony. Who are your three. Fits for the Bengals. Well first of all I I really like all the names that that the two other gentlemen mentioned there you know. I have three guys. One is not really realistic in terms of where the bengals could get this player but I think fit wise especially at one of if not be biggest area of need if a failed drug tests by MCI Becton causes him to fall which. I don't think it does. But if for some reason it does. And he's sitting there middle first round late first round and the bengals have the capital to to jump back like that. He's massive E. Strong and he is nasty. That has jim. Turner written all over him. And that has starting right tackle. Billy written all over this team not realistic. Probably not making it out of the top. Ten Top fifteen out of this draft but in terms of a fit and a guy that would I would just be absolutely amazed if the bengals would be Matai Becton now in terms of actual more realistic possibilities in guys that I really like. I'm all over Michael. Pittman Junior and credit to madman who interviewed Greg. Cosell and Greg Cosell. Who is a pretty smart? Football Mine Really Likes Michael Pittman and I think a lot of people early in the process at Michael Pittman is a day three guy maybe around five round six guy. He's got the size no measurable Probably wouldn't run. Well all of a sudden he runs around four five in the combine. He tests pretty well to go with his six foot. Four two hundred twenty plus pound frame. He high points the ball. Well he's not a one trick pony in terms of go deeper screen passes. He can more than that he was in kind of a spread ish pro stylish offense at USC. I love the kid I if the bengals can get him at sixty five. I would love that. I don't think that he will be there at that point because he just keeps rising And I think it's sixty five that would obviously be predicated on the fact that they don't go wide receiver in the second round so becton pitman or a couple guys. I liked another guy looked at and again credited to Matt for bringing him to my attention a little bit Antonio Gibson and that's this is my thing with the bengals this year. I'm going I guess when all offense there but I read a mock draft profiling the team. I can't remember who the author was but it was talking about. You know the reason why the bangles need to get Joe. Borough is because they have been stale on offense over the past couple of years. And that's really been kind of impetus of the four year streak of losing season since that wildcard implosion of years. Back so my thing is get guys that you make fits for Antonio Gibson is a playmaker. He's got limited snaps in. There's risk involved. There may be round for round five if he's floating out there but he's a guy you can line up in the you can line them up in the slot. He SPLIT OUT WIDE AT MEMPHIS AND HE MAKES TOUCHDOWNS. I think he had fourteen career touchdowns on seventy seven total touches. And that's not including another one or two on special teams as a return guy so that is a guy I think. Day three if he's floating around there and you've taken care of wide receiver offensive line and you've got your quarterback maybe linebackers in there as well but have a little fun. Get it get a piece. That causes matchup nightmares on offense. Give Joe Borough as much help as possible. That's those are three guys that I think would would be fun for the Bengals to look at realistic or not right. And this is why we brought these guys on here because clearly they have plenty of knowledge. Dropping gyms out here for us so moving onto my third question. We've heard a lot about the Bingol. Should trade with the Dolphins. We all probably likely would not want to take that pick but obviously this could come up in the draft. And we're not just talking about the I just in general if there were picked that the bengals could trade for possibly a player or more picks down the road. Which should they trade in Y? And I'll start with Matt on this one. It will. A lot of people have been really locked in on. Let's trade the thirty third pick from the beginning personally. I'm open to it but you know that's how I want. I want is for there to be a guide sitting there at the thirty third pig. Who you've got a top twenty grade on so I don't WanNA trade that pig but if there's not the value there if you if you've got you know five or six guys who great about the same as that that have a great aunt that I'm finally getting out of their The pickup that I would look to trade will actually be in the third row. Because I don't think you're going to have as massive as talent drop-off Between Sixty five and seventy five as he could between pick thirty three forty three and for that I mean really trading down about ten spots in the second round. You're probably picking up late. Third Round like their rock and Pencil type of pick. Unless somebody's you know hungry and overpaying for it And training down to the third round about ten spies. You're picking up like a mid fourth route. So you know like it's it's thirty spots lower. But it's still you're kind of in that in that middle range so compared to what you're potentially giving up with that pick. I think that's a better pick to be to be trading If you WANNA pick up another another pick in that area and I think that's a great area. I think they're still going to be plenty linebackers. I think it's going to be plenty of wide receivers in that area and probably probably some interior linemen at least in that area as well so that can be a real one There don't get me wrong. I Love Dalton. Supportive for you for years Probably not GONNA happen unless they're secretly working out the the contract between Dalton's agent and the Patriots right now but the best thing they could do is is Is Moved Dalton for a third or fourth round? Pick before this thing ends Anthony. What are your thoughts on? Any picks that they should move back our players they should trade for with the pigs. They have all try be. I usually pretty wordy but I'll try and be short because it's hard to disagree with anything matches said they're really for me. I don't want the Bengals to trade out of the second. You saw what happened to them last year. When they sat atop the second round they move back and all of a sudden. You thought they'd get a cody. Ford Dalton Reisner all these guys that could help them immediately what happens. They moved back. Pick AFTER PICK AFTER. Pick THE DOMINOS FALL RIGHTS. Were in front of where they moved back and then they're stuck kind of taking a sample. I hope your sample works out. Doesn't look good at this point. Maybe he's a versatile guy they could use your two for me. You'RE GONNA get a first round talent at thirty-three stay there. That's you're going to get an immediate impact guy at thirty three. Stay there. My thing is if you take care of and you get a valuable guy at thirty three. You're sitting at sixty five. Maybe there's a run on wide receivers a lot of the guys that are off the board and you haven't grabbed one yet and you say well. We're not overly enamored with a lot of people here. Let's move back from sixty five. Get another fourth round. Pick get another fifth round. Pick that way you could load up on linebackers. Maybe you can get an Antonio Gibson with an extra fourth round pick and don't feel like you're reaching and you can kill two birds with one stone. So that's that's I just to kind of Echo Matt sentiments. That's where I'm at with with trading picks. I do want to see them. Get another pick or two but I do not WanNa see them. Get rid of that second round. Pick a number thirty three. That is too valuable. You can get an Eric Steinbach type of player there the other. Facet trae Dalton. Get what you can form. Let him go start somewhere else. Do Him Solid. Get yourself another pick. If it's that Fourth Round Pick New England just picked up awesome. If it's a late round pick from Jacksonville Awesome. Get something for them. Get that contract off the books. Then you can reworking for AJ. If you WANNA rework deal for Joe Mixon. I know that's music to John. Sharon's ears you can go ahead and do that. That's that's where I'm at. You GotTa Get Dalton off. The books are great guy done a lot for the team. But it's time to move on especially if Joe Boroughs Vic so that's where I'm at with totally agree with those sentiments John. What are your thoughts on what the Bingo should do? For the sake of being devil's advocate. I think the first round would have to go a surprising way for the bengals to trade down from thirty three and not still get a good player there. I think that the first one's always filled wacky things and players will always go there when you don't really expect him to trade down to fire spots still be able to get a player that they would consider to be a first round. Talented may not be the guy they want. I think the value would still be there again. It's just like not like I'm open to the idea but I'm not married to an obviously. That's not my plan going into the draft at all because if the guy that I would think is would be like high for trump. Because there I'm probably GonNa take him the values just too good there to to pass it on a couple extra mid round picks but if the if the opportunity is there then we just don't have the way that my thing is like I I have no idea how trees are gonNA work out this year with with the fact that they're making this a lot more complicated than needs to be a tree in the second fourth round makes sense because you have that entire twenty or twenty hour period of of of deciding that beforehand but I think both the second foreground gives you great leverage in terms of you know the the draft any The night before and yet teams calling them in as you know asking the price for a player that somehow dropped out of the first or third rounds to death anthem maximize leverage out of there. If they get a great player thirty three. That's great if but I would never be opposed to the fact of getting more graphics than seven because I think when you just have seven picks you're losing the value of the draft. You one more opportunities in not less less trading up to get a quarterback which they don't need to do so if they have an opportunity for three three fine. I grew method. The drop off in town trading. Back in the third round is definitely is definitely a thing I think one thing I I I think my one desire against this trait now from the fourth round. Think eating like an extra getting like an extra fifth round big anymore. Opportunities to hit on has been around takes. I think is is a smart idea and also because there's going to be teams. Who want to treat up in the beginning fourth-round because that's just how it always works. It's always the second round being those prime spot so if they have an opportunity to try out in the second round in still get a player with a potential first grade. That's perfectly off me but obviously I'm not married to that great points. Great points One that I had is one that my co-host Zim has brought up several times. And I thought that this was pretty interesting. Is trying to trade one of those Mid Round? Picks if they'll take it which reportedly it seems that the value has kind of dropped on. Williams but he's floated out the idea of trying to trade at third round pick for Trent Williams. If they would actually do that in some strange reality out would be all over it. Personally I'm not GONNA lie For a guy like Williams but moving to the fourth question What position outside of quarterback do you think should have an instant impact next season? And we'll start with John this time. This is a tricky one because I think in terms of just adding a player from this draft. That could start immediately..
