Don't you know it's funny? I mean, you know, people say You know, it isn't actually warmer and with like a night like last night. I don't think there's any difference between Candlestick in Oracle Park other than the aesthetic, but it might have been even colder in windier at Candlestick Last night, Jeff Well, if if it's cold and windy there. Imagine you can add about five times to that For what Candlestick used today. There's no ball park. There's a matter of fact. John Boehner's Memoir: An Insightful Vulgarity-Filled Political Perspective

"John boehner of ohio would like to know that many years in congress and five years as speaker of the house did not change him at all. I listen. I'm just remainder guy who used to have a big job and i've actually One of my Accomplishments was walking out of congress after twenty five years pretty much being the same jackass that walked in more bainer. Says he just tried to be himself. The cover of on the house shows him sitting in what looks like a bar holding a glass of red wine. He is the son of a cincinnati bar owner. He never minded having a glass and disregarded a house ban on smoking. He writes like a guy chatting in a bar and talks of his experience including his experience with fellow. Republicans using so much vulgarity. That it would be hard for him to do a reading here on the radio. All of which leaves a question. How did this mainstream midwestern republican and up so distant from the party quite recently lead. Do you really think that if you were running for office today in the republican party you couldn't get elected. Oh i haven't got a pretty tough time. Like i said i'm a conservative republican. But i'm not crazy. Beaner was elected to the house in one thousand. Nine hundred ninety. He became speaker in two thousand ten as republicans captured the house. With the help of tea party activists opposed to barack obama. The first black president bainer lead their efforts to derail obama's spending proposals. But in retrospect he says many of his colleagues didn't care about spending or government debt. They just cared about creating quote chaos on. The house is a story of a leader trying to stay in front of his followers.

Cincinnati fires men's basketball coach John Brannen

"John Brain in his issued a statement. Within the last few minutes, it reads as follows. Today, I was notified. I have been relieved of my duties, is the head coach of the University of Cincinnati. The last three weeks have been an emotional roller coaster for my family, our staff and our players. I'm disappointed with this decision for a long list of reasons, but mostly because it was made long before the university even commenced its quote investigation into the basketball program. I look forward to the opportunity to bring the true facts to light. I am thankful to have the opportunity to realize a lifelong dream of being the head coach of the Cincinnati men's basketball team, and I am proud of what we've accomplished in the last two years. I wish the student athletes in the basketball staff at Cincinnati. Nothing but the best. Lisa and I appreciate all of the kind words and support we have received for many, many coaches, staff and stakeholders off the university, John Cunningham and releasing the statement this afternoon, saying, We're unable as this is a personal matter. We are unable to provide further details of the program review or the decision.

And i got lucky you know i know. I know a lot of riders just traveling around lately and got to meet a lot of great friends. So i mean it's just means a lot. Yeah this is an award on. You mentioned that your peers jockeys vote on this award which makes it even more special. But this is an award. That doesn't mean necessarily that you are the greatest rider in the world but it. It means that you are a great person who has represented the sport in a fashion. That's deserving of having your name associated with jockey. Light george wolf so talk. Tell people about what this were award actually means to you I mean everything is just like You know like Like george wolf me myself as a jockey. I try to help everyone that i can help you know. As a young rider coming in what i was star. Now i had all the odorized by kerber there and he Taught me a lot. I mean a lot of the old riders me down until you do this and do that and you know. Watch this and watch the so. I kind of felt like that. That's what i should do to help people. And then you know coming up apprentice jockey and stuff like that and try to help them out the same way. I was told you know what i mean you know. Just try to let everybody know that. We're we're riders. And i mean we we learn every day. It's not something that we can say we master because if you think you've mastered then you you know you might need to be our sport. Because i don't think you ever mastered jackie. There's a lot of times that we we make mistakes all the time and we try to. We watched races. And we you know come back and make it better if we can so. I just try to explain that. So a lot of the young riders to that. You know we're going to always make mistakes. They just whether you can handle letting you know. Get back on the horse and you know you know i could older guy told me like when you get off the horse. Turn a page. as another. There was a match lawn waiting for you. So you gotta just keep your head up and just keep doing what you love and just keep doing it. And like i said. I was taught from the older riders. And i feel like. I'm kind of veteran writing. Now that i i should kind of you know help out. And like i said. I still take Are still you know. Talk to other riders and take advice moneywise all the time too so i mean. That's just something that. I think that we ought to do with individual plus we all out there out there for the same thing trying to win and i mean we all do it. You know safeway and everything that we're doing it the right way so

"Like a mention, the Vikings won that forty, one, thirty, seven, and one point in the fourth quarter trail Coleraine, by seventeen. It was thirty seven twenty at one point but be able to get twenty one points the last nine minutes or so. Yeah, this Vikings team has special. To tell you a little bit more about the Greater Miami Conference as one of the tougher conferences in football in southwest. Ohio maybe even the state. I like to tell you the standings. I mentioned there three three, you know squads, Lakota West Mason, and Princeton. Princeton has outscored. Every. Single team the Vikings have the most points at one hundred and one after three games. And the Vikings have also given up eighty-seven which that's the most out of the three of those squads. Lookout, a West has the stingiest defense and thirteen points mason as given up. Forty five and then Princeton at eighty seven. If you want to look at the rest of the table and the GMC Coleraine Fairfield Hamilton Sycamore One and two. Yes I said Cole Raines One and two I'm surprised as you are. and. Then you've got middletown. Owen One yes. The Mideast ability to gains but only one in the GMC. Look East Owen to Oh kills into. and. That's your standings and the GMC. Yeah I mean if you look at the GMC halfway through three, three, hundred teams. That's pretty tough. Now. I know we're in week four still three weeks ago. But I think Princeton has got a shot of claiming at least a share of the GMC. And that'd be the first time for the Vikings since two, thousand and three. A little team called Coleraine would have the streak for twenty some years. which two losses you really have to hope for Princeton and Lakota West Mason to kind of fall off the table but I don't see that happening. So I think the street might be over our three games left. So anything possible course. Princeton does not play Mason Lakota West in the regular season in fact, what's left for Princeton? Tonight Lakota East next week Middletown, and then week six at Fairfield. I mentioned to folks that I think fairfield might be the biggest test I know fair fields wanted to as while but. Can never count out a good coach Krause team. So definitely, the Indians hosting the Vikings I think that's going to be a very big challenge but a very nice test to get into the playoffs which by the way yesterday the seventeenth was the.

"Definitely, you can't look past any of these three teams got to prepare for the white sox and then the brewers then prepare. To, take the road against the twins. Do I, think the reds have a shot in the playoffs now? Absolutely I mean the way they're playing like I said seven and three. Run differentials lowered down to negative fifteen. I. Think last week it was somewhere towards negative twenty eight. And I definitely think you know the reds get everything together? Yes. I know sunny grays on the. I l. but at the same time. I. Look the bullpen they straighten things up the offense is starting started hits when the needs. You can make the argument usually beat the pirates. One one nothing. Game. Jaba I sell glasses came out and shut the door pirates scored less than the reds and according to sports especially baseball the. Fewer amount of runs points you score. You lose I think that's a sports work except Gulf. So. There you go. Definitely. Definitely I think the reds have a great shots. I mean look at the post season standings mentioned the reds since they are second in the central they have a spot. So they're over the wild card spots currently occupied by San, Francisco and Philadelphia. But nine important games and I think the reds if they keep on the right track and they get down the business. They can win. Both of those games. In case, you are wondering how the postseason seatings are looking right now while the Los Angeles dodgers thirty, six fifteen, they have locked down best record in the majors. Vault up by Chicago and the cubs thirty and twenty. Think about the two teams in Chicago combined for sixty three wins and thirty seven losses. That's pretty good. We'll stick with the NFL dodgers cubs Atlanta their tops the east twenty nine, twenty, one, San Diego second in the West Thirty, two, nineteen, it's been nice to see the padres being able to string together Miami Twenty Five Twenty Three there's Cincinnati Twenty five, twenty, six, giants twenty, five, twenty, four, Philly, twenty, four, twenty, five and I see a lot from the phillies fans saying that their bullpen is. Quite bad. I've been there. Now, we look at the Al side just in case you're wondering it's white sox thirty, three, seventeen, Tampa Bay thirty, three, eighteen, Oakland thirty, one, nineteen, Minnesota thirty one, twenty-one Yankees Twenty Nine twenty-one Houston even five, hundred after fifty games twenty, five, twenty, five. Indians have the first wildcard spot, twenty, seven, twenty, three, and Toronto. Twenty, six, twenty, three, which is also nice to see their you've moment is going pretty well, it's also nice to see. Baltimore. Past few years you know they've been. One hundred losses. Plus. Twenty two, twenty, nine, they how many games will that be? That's few games out of a wildcard spot, but it's nice to see. You know. The the Orioles Orioles even. Improve. So case you're wondering who's at the basement because you like hearing about basement teams for some reason Texas in the AL thirty Pittsburgh in the NFL fifteen, thirty four. So yeah. Six Home Games left for Cincinnati. Nine Games left on the regular season playoffs insight if the reds can keep this up. I see no reason why Cincinnati can't get the playoffs. Now I missed the thing where I talk about Princeton Coal Right I. think that's a nice way to wrap up episode one, eighty one. Also, I got like last week I thought that was one eighty one but turned out to be one eighty 'cause I'm smart like that..

"Bengals, two sacks and that's more. Boroughs Rookie I. Get it I mean last night that sack was. WAS, that sex. Sex against I don't know but. Yeah I definitely think that. You know we're on the right track. Well, we see it this year I don't know but. I definitely think people have a lot to look forward to. Now the Bengals do. Finish. Close to two and fourteen again by hope is. Get some offensive line help I don't know what's in the pipeline for college offensive Lineman but. Get some help up. There s that's the first thing I'd fixed. The second thing I would fix is. Home. The defense has been completely revamped everything and I feel like. I don't know the mangles did quite well last week or. The browns are. That, good on offense of team, they just ran into a brick wall known as the Ravens I don't know. I think brighter times are ahead. For the Bengals. So week three, I can tell you for. Cincinnati. Will be on the road goes back home until we four against Jacksonville. Week three looks seven like this for Cincinnati there at the Philadelphia Eagles who currently in one on the year remember they lost to the football team. Am I going to get tired of that joke now probably not. So. Yeah. I. Like I said I think the bengals will be okay. But time will tell, I. Think Borough is a natural leader. And definitely the face. Of. The team. I just think the offense in Lyon defense or kyle let them down so. Right now, the bengals. In the National Football League I know the Bengals have played one more game the most teams except Cleveland. But Second League offense I mean Joe Borough Three touchdowns thirty seven passes sixty one attempts. The one thing the. Box score from last night that upset me. Aj Green. Three, of thirteen. Off. That was bad and burrows first touchdown pass was to CJ zone before he tore his right Achilles beautiful pass as well. So it's a growing process and there's a lot of people that are questioning Zach Taylor's coaching abilities on that but. Hey second in the league, the Eagles on the other side ninth, but their defense ranked first. And most of the offense is coming through the arms of Joe Borough the running game I think Joe Mixing is doing Nice Job and I think Geo Bernard is right behind him as well. But. Yeah Eagles next it's next Sunday. So the Bengals have a little bit more of A. Time to. strategize. And think about. What they can do better from their first two games. Still. Definitely, excited to see the age of borough I think definitely that there's brighter times ahead for Brighter Days Ahead D. E. Y. S.. Let's talk about the reds five game winning streak the first ever five game winning streak under..

"There was another one too I just realized I'm still on NFL's scoreboard. Looking at week one. Football team that's a great name for nickname. Washington not football. Teams don't be ridiculous. But yeah. You lost to the football team I. Don't believe you. I think your name already did that joke but. I did it anyway because I wanted to. So. The mangles Owen to hand. They are now without their tight end one end CJ Ozama. Always liked us all mine I. Think this would have been. It's time to shine but tearing his right Achilles has put a complete stop to that. So drew sample whose look good. These previous two games I think it'll be. Okay. The tight in one spot now. But it's Going to be a lot to ask. For the newest Tynan. So yeah. The. Offensive Line. You know what? I gotTa give borough a lot of credit to when asked about it. He said they did a great job protecting them and you know didn't throw anyone under the bus was really refreshing I mean. The bengals might not be going to the playoffs this year. Which is fine but I want to see how Joe Borough grows, and I think already two games in. You know he's impressed me. That again he's not there to impress me. He's there to lead the bengals to victory I. Mean. Borough mentions a might be the only time his spying career that he's lost two games in a row granted with the two losses the combined. Total would be points three against the chargers advised against. CLEVELAND. Last night. You know talking about the Bengals and Browns Game Cleveland might have the best running back duo. Aunts and Chubb. That's your two and one running backs and I i. wish the Bengals had something like that. I think Nixon is a great running back one but. I don't know I mean, Bernard. He's okay at running back to. And yes. There's lots of social media, pictures of him of his mass stash and everything. But. I definitely think the Bengals Yeah Oh and I honestly think that Joe is going to have a great career. But I certainly hope that the offensive line can actually protect them i. mean there's some pictures like what are you doing? I. Never blocked on an offensive line before and I'm questioning this. I mean Cincinnati look I mean if you look at the team stats already forty-nine first downs in two games. which is was that split in half about twenty four and a half first downs per.

Seven touchdowns in a half. And half. Porter. Yeah he's going to be something special and. You know I'm not expecting Cincinnati at the bottom of the standings then when kinder gets drafted but wouldn't it be nice to get Cincinnati kid as the running back? I mean I I know we still have a long time to go and I don't know what's going to happen with Heiner when he goes to. Lsu. You get to see a lot of countryside on that trip. Or more likely you fall seventy-three. "And the outfield walls you have a ton. Of advertisements. So I definitely think it will start to grow. In terms of how long it will take I'm not sure, NFL. It's a tricky situation just because if you think about it, football jerseys really have a lot of room for advertisements if you look at NFL Europe their. Last few years they had think they had. Like small sponsors on the top, the numbers upfront. But. I don't see NFL being the first ones to do so. Mlb I expect them to. Maybe start doing that I mean, heck look at the new Nike Jerseys that are provided to the teams. The Nike swoosh is on top. Of the jerseys. Right Front and center. I'm not necessarily a big fan of that but whatever you. I always liked the old school Once where they haven't had the sleeve and it's not very noticeable. I'm not the biggest fan of that but I think baseball soccer I. Mean they've already done it I mean mercy health is FC. Cincinnati. Sponsor and nationwide children's is the crew sponsor. Going to say glidden the paint company, but that's been long ago for the crew. I think it's before Anthony precourt stays with the Columbus crew as the previous owner. For FC Cincinnati and the US l. days was Toyota. Dow. It's mercy health, which is a local brand of hospitals in Cincinnati and Springfield. Soccer's already on there. I don't know how much more you can squeeze advertisement on but. You know marketing will find a way. So yes I think it will spread more in US jerseys. Will Get to minor leagues though I. Mean I think that might happen I mean if you look at Major League teams, their budgets, you know huge budgets and they have coming in things the season tickets everything whereas minor leagues, you might not have that opportunity I mean look get brand new teams trying to get a foothold in their area. It's you know. I see that happening more. Now. Do you think that they'll use the extra income to.

"Friday in fact the. Week. Four of Ohio High. School. Football Friday. Blacks. Hey, that's how time winds down. Also I can guarantee next week I should have it out on Tuesday, for episode one, Eighty two. But we'll cover last week scores and touch up on my upcoming broadcast and what you can expect a couple of big wins in their. Yours truly had a big call. Last week. And we'll talk a little bit more about that. Later, we'll also talk about the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cincinnati reds are to believe NFL season's already here but. A lot of stuff to talk about but I. It's time for Mallon's mailbag. Yes, a couple of pieces of mail have landed in the mail bag, and if you have any questions, you like answer for Mallon's mail bag in a future episode. The easiest way to do it is either on twitter at Sunday Pot or the leader Alan you can reply or tweet. DM answer all those. My biggest strength is local sports course in Cincinnati Dayton Ohio. Maybe a little bit Columbus area too. But if you've got any sports questions, I'll do my best answer on here and you can hear that theme every time which always cracks me up how Fast. The theme is. Anyway. Both of these questions this episode were asked by Matt Morris a good friend and loyal listener on this podcast. And, the first question. With the current ageing and State of welcome stadium. Do you think you D would attempt to build a new football stadium and the next ten years or so? My big question I always ask because we get a lot of these questions like where's the new stadium going to be built? Do you think new teams can come in and if yes, where the new stadium's? GonNa be placed. The big thing is, where are you thinking? Location wise. There's not a lot of real estate available round dating. I mean, we're talking about University of Dayton. So putting it in the suburbs not quite ideal. So. I like welcome stadium I. Think it's a nice historic field. Yes. I know what happened last year AJ Green at a season ending injury and the warm ups in Dayton. Yes. You don't have to remind me about that but it has a great purpose not only does it service the five high schools in Dayton that have football? It also is the home of the University of Dayton flyers football team. Now, ownership of welcome stadium is Dayton public schools. You doesn't own it they just. They rented basically a lot of parking around it's not about area of seat in the house. Always. Felt like welcome stadium had sort of like. I don't know wind. There's a lot of wind that goes through so. Even on the quietest days of wind, it's always seems like there's a nice breeze blowing through. Quite close to the river and really close to all of most of Ud's athletic fields. The only exception is Bojan for soccer and Ferric Center for volleyball. Everything else is around that area ud arenas right next door the baseball and softball fields are right next door as well. I honestly don't believe you. "In Cincinnati at clear channel, it was on thirteen sixty homer at the time, and so I was the studio host for the Football Games. During Oh, guys for two or three years. And Win Miami got the chance to expand broadcasting in broadcasting more games on Tireless. They're radio guy from back then and was David. Allen was GONNA. Make some move to to do the teeny broadcast that opened up the void for the radio side because I worked with Steve, day doing the the broadcasting of the studio host football Keanu I had a hockey background, so he calls it. Hey, you be interested. I'm sure why that'd be a Lotta Fun. At that time for me, this was back in two thousand and six. Vet They'd kind of. It's kind of ironic because would break, asked me to do that. I started the two thousand six two thousand seven season doing Miami, hockey. I did the hockey for about a month, and then I got laid off from clear Channel Cincinnati, and so that that opened up the opportunity to continue doing the hockey game like it free up my schedule, so I wasn't going to be missing shifts or working at clear channel Cincinnati and that opened up the opportunity and also work in Cincinnati Garden so I. I kind of was able to thankfully Pete. Robinson, at the garden combined my full time job at Cincinnati Gardens with doing Miami Hockey, and when I started doing my only hockey in two thousand and six, I had no idea that I would be doing it as long as I have, and it was just kind of never job to do the time i. Readily this now and I hate that I didn't give it my full attention. Those first couple of years careers at that point to me I'm like okay. College hockey, who who's really following college hockey I had no idea that the fan base. The college hockey had an especially Miami redhawks. Had I also like the Dayton bombers into really weird parallels I I, you know the date bothers was the first year they started broadcasting and another. Or playing in the nutter center, so I was with the bombers, their first year under center Miami had a brand new ice rink on campus that opened and I was the very first year broadcasting Miami hockey and the new building I broadcast some gave along the way when I was a bowling green in the old building, and it had has to do a couple of broadcast here and there along the way, but at the old dog Carina, but it was just timing was absolutely right to open up the do building. I WANNA taking. It seriously probably should have to me. It was it was kind of broadcasting high school football to where it was a very niche audience, and and I prepared in the very best broadcast. I could but. I had no idea the scuttled of what Miami Hockey. Was At that point or certainly in the next five six year war, they will go to become, and it was just an absolute. Luck of timing, it had told to the purchase of the Rico Blasi. Who was the longtime coach now Chris Bury on. Timing is everything and I just happened to be there? As the Miami hockey programs was climbing up and and..

"Florence y'all's. They recently introduced their new home jerseys like I mentioned powder, blue, white numbers, red shadows, and Y'all's and read with the cursive logo powder, blue hats with the Y in the star over the Y. and read bills. They have the red white red piping like the oldest, since registers, these did. The y'all's worked with. Since the funny thing to say the Florence Y'all's I still miss the freedom. I still miss the freedom name, but the all's. In case you don't know the story. It's based on the water tower that was supposed to be full of Florence Mall, but because the mall wasn't going to be built for another two years. You can't have advertisements for something that doesn't exist. Seem sensible. So. They took the mall and scraped off the outer legs and became Florence y'all. There you go, you almost learn something today. The new home jerseys spectacular. They also introduced a couple of alternative hats. y'All's is on. Want with red bill and a tri color white front. And Sky Blue in the back. The other one is sky blue. Bill the Y. Logo again on White Front. So. Yeah, go fly! Fall them at Florence underscore y'all's no apostrophe. You see these jerseys. You'll fall in love like I did. Last up. This has to do with the University Cincinnati. This is from Mike Dyer. University of Cincinnati acknowledges petition that seeks to change the name of Marge Schott Stadium. Logo History Time Marge Schott no her as being the GM of these Cincinnati reds and you might know that she wasn't the nicest to anyone that's. Was African. American or of the Jewish faith. Or Asian American And she had A. Thing for Adolf Hitler. I know that's absolutely disgusting. Also her Saint Bernard dog used to crap all over the place A. Riverfront! Are Synergy at the time. I guess actually was synergy was ninety six who cares? So yeah. Beautiful. Ballpark at UC. I was hoping to get a chance to announce a game there, but unfortunately all the times I got. Ud or Wright state, but beautiful ballpark. It's right off the main drag. It's by vine. It's it's wonderful. It's a wonderful field artificial turf. and lots of shade great press box. Once upon a time you see used to play at. What was it? Johnny Bench field. Also I should mention Mike Dyer tweed it, but he also got help with Reggie Wilson who used to be the sports director at. ABC Twenty Fox forty five up here in Dayton. So. Both of them worked on this article. The online petition seeking to change the name of UC's Baseball Stadium had seven thousand, five hundred eighty one online signatures at four forty five Tuesday. "Work with our management's great everyone around me. It's just it's a really really is a dream. Come true to work back home and to have a team like I. have to work with it's. It's incredible. Man I love every second of work. Minus you know no sports happenings, the last two and a half months, but we'll get back to that sooner or later, but it's. It really has been a blessing to be back home. Here's hoping. We do get sports back sooner than later, but you're very busy broadcaster. What all sports do you cover? What all teams do you cover? We do as a local sports reporter we do. We do everything in local sports so obviously. You know your big your team. The reds the bengals. You See Football Ucla Basketball Xavier Basketball FC Cincinnati. Cyclones, but you know the in a town like Cincinnati. It's a huge sports town and one of the biggest things is high school sports, so obviously you know. Friday night, Football Elliott fifteen minutes show every Friday night, and it's Cincinnati High School football and really tristate. Whole is Great Teams in Indiana Northern Kentucky to. It's just a different level of high school sports. You see other places in the country, so you want to do the best job you can with the big teams like the reds and Bengals for you are find stories, and be able to give coverage to teams like High School Football Teams High School Basketball Teams Soccer Lacrosse. There's a story there. You want to be able to tell it do it, so that's the. That's actually the toughest part is obviously the big things people see you the reds, not playing and spring, training, or in training camp, not going on for the Bengals, or not as you don't have those the smaller stories that people care about local sports, your high schools, your college athletes. None of that's going on either so it'll be. It'll be go once. Everyone gets back. It's nice to see some of the high schools being able to get out and practice again together. Obviously do practicing social distancing some of the football. Teams are out down here so. It's kind of wait and see to get it back, but you just try to do everything local the best you can. It is a nice sight to see that. High schools are with the social distancing able to get back to work, and hopefully we have fall sports season coming up. Let me ask you this. What's your favorite sports season in Cincinnati? Man That's tough..

"On the phone for one fifty four. Is Brandon CEO. Brandon how you doing today. I'm good. How are you Lee I'm all right. Nice weather we're having. It's just too bad. We don't have baseball to go with. Yeah My family just got a vote, and you can take it out on the Ohio and drive right past, great American Ballpark, but there's. Nothing to watch or listen for unfortunately, hopefully, that'll change. Here's hoping here's help him. So let's begin. Where are you from? from Cincinnati from the west side grew up in White Oak, and went to Lasalle High, school and University of Cincinnati, so Cincinnati through and through. You've been in the Queen City. All Your Life, so you've seen a lot of great sports. LemMe, ask what's changed since you can remember watching Cincinnati sports and now covering it for the NBC affiliate in town. You know I think it's. What's? What hasn't changed is teams have been able to win a championship? That's been the constant Spent so thing it's really the same is getting to a teams like the bengals and the reds, and you see basketball and Xavier. Basketball they've got two big big moments, and having been able to win the big games for Cincinnati cyclones's. GotTa. Give them a shout out. They've won to Kelly Cups. I believe in the last ten years so. They're gonNA done in the a minor league hockey ranks, but when you're talking about the big pro sports in town in the Br-, big college teams in town lot of winning, but not when it matters most, and that's kind. The thing stayed the same. I joked with my dad all the time that you know. He grew up in the in the Golden Age of Cincinnati Sports. Get to see the bengals have WANNA see. Rowley got the bengals go to two super bowls saw the reds win three world series of course going wire-to-wire Nineteen Ninety You know UC see basketball. Go to the final four Ninety two, and then obviously the heartbreak. Can you Martin I remember that one? you know. He broke his leg against Saint. Louis, so, you know not much has changed. Teams are still pretty good here It's just there aren't able besides the Bengals last year that hopefully that'll change Joe Borough. I think well I think it will. Also point about K. Mart Dan Hoard mentioned that if he didn't break his leg, bearcats would probably win the championship that year. Oh no question I mean they were the number one team in the country. Almost the whole year he was the a national player of the year. It's just. What is you know it's what if Carson Palmer doesn't break as you know or tears? ACL! What if you know Andy Dalton? Doesn't you know hurt his hand and you know when that steelers game are before that the game the Bengals? Choked way with some penalties at the end..

"Have the cyclones, the the Shell and I think a lot of people go out and watch them, but. I wish that it was that it was bigger hair. I do too I mean the cyclones battle for Kelly Cup every single year and It just I don't know I mean they're technically now. I'm trying to think. Are they? Technically the last team to win a championship in Cincinnati actually yeah, I think I think that they are I. Think you're right about that I. don't know if it's the cyclones on the commandos that indoor football team at the gardens before it closed down in got destroyed because. The. Yeah the. The commandos only suffered like three losses in three years, and they won all three championships it was it was phenomenal, but then the head coach took a new job, and then franchise got shut down and that was the time we had the Dayton sharks up here so. I'm sorry I'm getting you know I will say Xavier does have pretty good club hockey team. If you ever get a chance to watch him I think. I've heard that actually. What were you gonNa say I think they're at sports plus I. Don't know which. I think you're right. I think yeah I. Have Heard that before. That's a good idea. Maybe maybe I can venture out at some point. Find a little Xavier, ice hockey story. Yeah, I. Think I think that'd be cool. Just because you don't get athletic scholarships because it's a club team, but at the same time Xavier and you see are pretty good, so I. Definitely you know. I recommend that if you could make it out to a game, just because hockey's great. And again I could talk forever on that, but you know. I won't I promise? Let me, ask you this. What is it like being a sports fan? Sports follower a sports reporter in Cincinnati Ohio. It's a it's a Cliche, but honestly it's dream. Come true man. I can't remember growing up in this town I was born in nineteen, eighty seven. When I was a little kid, the the reds win the world series that beat the Oakland as in Nineteen Ninety and I just sports has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and it makes perfect sense to me that it's it's continued the way that has you know obviously I've gotten lucky along the way, but. sports in this town and you know I think Cincinnati people like to like to laments and say that sports are so special earlier. I think that they're special everywhere. I think that the way that people rally behind their teams in Cincinnati and the way that people care. Makes it endlessly interesting to me and you know to that point. It's like you watch a new franchise. FC Cincinnati pop up and people just have flocked to that team and you know they support them without fail. And it's it's cool, man. It's like I. Tell people all the time. I feel sorry for people at don't Love Sports. I I really do this a little bit of something for everyone in Cincinnati and Earth's FC Cincinnati that's. Maybe not as much playoff successes. People would like, but I tell you how they stack nipper stadium and how they're going to stack the West End Stadium once that's finally open. I Wa I just? In such a short span of time line to that's that's the crazy thing. I know man they It's it's impressive. How quickly they've taken off in kind of cultivated a a loyalty among their fan base, and I. Just I think that that speaks to to what this town is like and what we love when we love our sports here in Cincinnati man. Absolutely, it's a great..
