What if All Food Was Square?
"Have you ever been eating dinner and thought this is great but i really wish my entree insides were all the same size and shape. Maybe identical rounded squares. Well square eat heard you and are here with a weekly meal delivery service. That's exactly that food in the form of identically sized rounded squares as the companies deck spread around the internet this week people had trouble figuring out if it was for real. But according to the company's chief marketing officer maria laura florez who spoke to the today show and the over one hundred fifty thousand dollars. They've raised in funding on. We funder it absolutely is quoting today. The miami based company squarely uses processes like low temperature cooking and thermal shocking to turn foods like chicken beef broccoli rice and more into precooked. Fifty gram square patties. The small squares are designed to be consumed in either four or six piece meals for piece meal boxes from sweet break chocolate pancakes to mediterranean. Ciba's asparagus in zucchini range in price. From five fifty to seven ninety nine wants delivered the squares stay fresh for two weeks or more and can be eaten cold or prepared in a variety of ways including sauteed in oil heir fried or warmed in the microwave and quotes and one of the big things that the company is trying to clear up. Is that these aren't meal replacements. The foods that make up the squares are the actual foods. The chicken is just chicken. Sweet potato is just sweet potato albeit they do come spiced but squaring insists there one hundred percent natural ingredients. It's just how they're prepared that thermal shocking process. That gives them their strange futuristic appearance but my biggest question is why i mean sure. It looks kinda cool. But what is the advantage of the square. As best as i can figure it out from reading several articles ranging from bewildered to scathing square. It says that the shape makes it easier to mass produce their gourmet techniques so that they can make high quality. Food more affordable.

And that's why we get things like salary in english or being worth your salt because it was a very valuable commodity and this is one of the places that they did that and they still do it. There's still a tradition there where you can watch people say watch you're watching. Water evaporates so you can go to a museum there for instance and learn about the process. Even if you're not interested in salt production this is also an area where you'd see a lot of waterfowl because this is an area that is marshes and such and some of it so puns and someone who is not nowadays one unusual thing. While i was there. I did have a lunch with somebody from a fish farm. There's a commercial fish farm there that you can tour. I did not have time to do it. On this very rapid itinerary. But you can go out there on a boat or even on kayaks out into the bay where they have these large nets where they have fish and they also have information about what they're doing in this commercial fishing process. Halo TV show will air in 2022, alongside Star Trek
"So viacomcbs held its big investor presentation paramount plus which is rebranded and rebooted version of an existing service called. Cbs all access. What did we get yesterday yesterday. There was this three. Plus our event designed to unveil the scope of paramount plus says this revamped version of cbs. All access in a kind of inauspicious. Start this event that was supposed to talk about how the company is going to be really competitive and streaming ended up starting half an hour late because they were having problems streaming so that wasn't a great place to start but generally the main focus last night was squarely on programming all the titles that they're going to be creating the originals the exclusives movies and shows that they're going to be leading into sort of cbs's stable of networks and brands and intellectual property in order to hopefully they hope draw new subscribers to service that has been around almost since the very beginning of services like this. Yeah let's take into that. Because cbs all access has largely been known for shows like star trek discovery and well star trek card and star trek. Lower deck's star trek. What else are we gave from paramount. Plus it how does it differ from. Was he this. All access had been about the last two years. Generally i would say that. The basic proposition of paramount plus is pretty similar to cbs. All access some of the things that make. Cbs all access a little bit. Different from other streaming services is baked into ciba's access. You get a live feed of Your local cbs channel most streaming on demand streaming services. Don't have both. I kind of live and on demand element integrated within them. That doesn't really change paramount. Plus the things that are going to be changing. Like i said it's really about how they're trying to expand people's concept of what's this entire company a includes and so what that is that they're going to be making a lot more originals based on things from comedy central and tv from nickelodeon there's going to be a rugrats boot and an entire new studio dedicated to avatar the last air bender Universe shows in shorts and movies and they're going to be leading really hard into the paramount. Pictures movie studio that the company also owns. They're going to be reviving some franchises from that movie studios past and they're also going to be bringing a few of paramount pictures new theatrical movies to permit plus to stream earlier than would be normal. This is nothing like hbo. Max streaming every single warner brothers. New movie the same day as it hit theaters but subscribers to promote plus a will have the opportunity to stream movies like quietly to the new mission impossible mission impossible. I think at seven on the of subscribers will be able to stream that basically a month and a half after those movies hit theaters. So for example quiet place equal you'll be able to stream in november. That's not as aggressive as as some other services but it does change the proposition. Little bet from what people were used to. Cvs all access right and so. Let's get some details. How what is the service actually launched and home was the cost and did it does it differ from. What's he has. All access was charging. Yeah well this is something. I was kind of surprised that this is going to be such a confusing transition. What's happening is in one week on march fourth they will essentially replace. Cbs all accesses premium tier with paramount plus in a launch on the fourth in the us and across countries some countries in latin america as a ten dollar a month subscription. And that gives you everything on the service. Add freight then in june going to widen paramount plus to be sickly launched a cheaper ad-supported limited tier. That's five dollars month so that's comparable with similar tier that's already on. Cbs all access. So both of the services have these kind of like cheaper ad-supported tears and premium more expensive inclusive tears but ammo plus is going to be rolling them out in. This staggered way which is going to create some confusion for current subscribers and also perspective subscribers know. There's going to be period of a few months where there's going to be multiple apps that have the cbs name in them was have the paramount name in them. And it's going to be hard. It's not as simple proposition for consumers to figure out what they wanna get and where they can actually get it with all those moving parts happening at once so we saw out some difficulty with. Hbo max when hbo max launched last year when they had not only at hbo max as an app out in the market but hbo go and hbo now still existed as made that transition. That was a really bumpy road for them for a while. Because of consumer confusion now add in the element that there is not only just like. Hey there's one subscription it's one price none of that change now. Add in the fact that you've got to tears which launches at one time one of which doesn't launch until another time and those things have different. They unlock different. So it does seem like it's setting up a really a really bumpy transition for them to

Even though we've discussed the topic many many times for a long time and let me say that we kind of glossed over the amount of mac and cheese that is being consumed these days very very very early on. We identified mac and cheese as the as the treat of the future. The slave food get food and and it happened. It happened now. We're we're right before our very eyes. There's actual mac and cheese shops that opened and open for business within the realm of our show luxury mac and cheese to normalize it with the elites. And they'll just leave your shedder and shitty pasta melted together. And it's been a big favourite It's been a staple of the lockdown easy for moms to do that. We've looked at other trends which we've just clearly identified early on and one of them is the consumption of bugs and you are being particularly disgusted by it. I am particularly and my daughter seems the idea that makes sense The term is at amaafuza g etymology. Eat off aji entomology. E entomology e. e. n. t. o. m. o. p. h. ag y. Entomology and i have the definition of entomology. Right here into intimacy describes the practice of eating insects specifically by humans and this is an interesting add from rain. Total body fuel some. I don't know if it's a sports drink or something doesn't really matter but there's a two parter one is. I prefer to drink my bud. Thet exactly so part one is Is the background or giving you all the facts and then the pitch fuel is often thought of as energy or goyal but the most important you will and food. It's time to start thinking about. What are you using to feel your body. And how does that impact the world. Her current environment where tech and fitness are emerging together. It's totally changed. My mind fed about coaching was always getting smarter. Who's always learning more about you. That's how you get a leg up on the competition brain. Total body fuel really hits mission. I'm trying to get at that. Fuel is for your poodle body. Your mind the driving force behind your total existence which we believe is what will I started blogging about adventures. Look bugs today is a hope and a goal and now obsession for taking on the challenge of making people comfortable with change. Insects are what we consider a functional food functional foods basically nature's little vitamins. You will get about the same amount of protein and the protein will be more bioavailable which means your body can actually absorb in these more than you think about fitness and you will insects. Come to mind immediately. The industry is a lot of success. Working with competitive climbers runners and other because bugs were built for athletes mindset the willingness of athletes just to do whatever it takes to get the best fuel for their body infect insects. Now you can see that. They're appealing to your daughter's she's the target market. They've got the up talk and millennial we've got all kinds of dubious claims. We're gonna talk about some little known tax benefits tax special, But we have Frank, you're on with Josh Kolinsky, the financial quarterback. And JJ, the Ciba here. Go ahead, JJ. Go ahead. Morning, JJ. Have a question on 10 31. I know if you do a 10 31 exchanged the replacement property has to be at least The same value as the one you sold. Is there any restrictions or limit on the value of the replacement property? Well, I'm not sure where you heard that. Here's how the 10 31 works. And, by the way, folks, it's on Lee now available on real estate beginning 11 18. And I will tell you this with the incoming administration. I don't know that we'll have, like kind exchange. Potentially anymore, or might be limited. Now on the like, Kind exchange. Here's what that is, is that whatever your game is on the property that you're selling, you have to do it through your title company. You can't take any receipt of funds. You have to do this within 180 days. Identifying the next property within 45 days. You. Whatever your game is. That is then all reduction of the next property's basis. So what you're potentially have been told, maybe just wasn't further clarified. What it is, is that In essence, If your gain on the property is $50,000, then the next property if you wanted to defer the whole game would need to be 50,000. But you might sell a building for a half a million dollars. And your cost basis is 450,000. Now you have a $50,000 game. Now, when you do it, 10 31 exchange that 50,000 is deferred until you sell the next property. And if you then by another property for $300,000 noted that that is less than what you sold it for on the other property. Then, for tax purposes, you would have a basis of 50,000 less. So if you bought the next property for 300,000, the game would reduce it by 50,000. So hopefully that will help your circumstances. Yes, that does, But I was just curious. If the property is fully depreciated, then it would basically be the total proceeds from the sale, including The original court, Frank Okay. All right. Thanks. Yep. And then that game can be rolled. Yes. Okay. Thank you for the clarification..

And were getting that with a far more. So far with the far more temporally limited intervention. So anything. It could change. You know it's in process and I really the next step needs to be a double blind study I think more competitive and I believe your group is doing this with depression. So we we went with straight up didn't use any double dummy or or anything with this but I think in a lot of ways, you get the best information from these types of studies, where like how does it compare on the ground to what's typically used? Clearly we need to know it's all placebo effect. I assume that's how we pronounced the name of the company. C I b. A created contact lenses using silicone hydrogel lt's now the big advantage of the hydrogel material was that was particularly permeable toe oxygen. So it could allow oxygen to pass through the contact lens and allow the cornea to get that sweet, sweet oxygen it craves so dearly. The first daily disposable lenses would debut in 1995 Ron Hamilton, who was an inventor in Scotland gets credit for creating the first example, which he called the Premier Award lens. Bausch and Lomb would purchase Hamilton's company and rebranded the lens. Thie soft lands. One are the soft lens. One day Hamilton would go on to launch a different company called Prove this Now there have been numerous improvements in materials and processes to contact lenses over the years, But the basic principles remain the same contact lenses bend light so that Isaac in focus Which is a little reductive because there are contact lenses that are meant to protect eyes that have been damaged through injury or illness. There are some that are meant to treat disease is not just a problem with vision, but actual diseases of the eye. There's also cosmetic contact lenses that don't have any corrective nature to them as well. But I'm going to focus pun intended on corrective contact lenses, since that's such a common use for them, and that brings us to a couple of questions like How doesn't optometry determine what prescription you need? But I asked the question taking. I'm curious. How met fans we'll weave in the Yankee stuff more hardcore in a bit, But I asked the question before we took our first break. I said last night, they got the crisp game that they needed buttoned up caught. The ball pitched well, both fans from clutch hitting. Just the way you want to look, but is that kind of an anomaly? And that's how I view it. You know, that's my personal opinion, or, you know is that kind of maybe a harbinger of things to come. I think it's the former, I would imagine probably somewhat split down the middle for You know, maybe unrealistic slash optimistic met fans, But you know, there are a lot of moving parts a lot of guys to employees who don't play all the time who had big contributions last night, and it's just hard for me. To hang my hat on that, But we'll see. You know, you know you can't hang your hat on it, but it doesn't mean you can't try it and I keep coming back to this odd, you know, weird season that we're playing in right now in Major League baseball, really all sports but particularly Major League baseball, and the fact that it's only 60 as opposed to 162. It just it just makes so much sense. To give these guys an opportunity, especially when you have a guy you know who is bad is interesting and whose fielding is even better. Who can contribute make differences on a night tonight basis which you hope you can, But you're not going to find that out unless you give him a shot. And given this situation we're in. Why not that? Bill is on the fan would've built Hey, do it today. Yeah. Hi. Great. Thanks for taking my call. Look, I just wanted to talk about last night's first game with the Yankees. Not that I wouldn't want to defend half He wasn't good, but he was forced out of style. Ah, the umpire was inconsistent from outside balls of strike. Others, not a strike. Portions of fish inside. I really believe it's a prime example of why we need in order. Maybe Strike zone, Why leave it up to an umpire's opinion? Have it vanished. They look in the role of time when the ball was out. They've adopted replay. Next year in the National League or when the Ciba comes up anyway. Um, we'll probably have a designated hitter. All it is is progress abode even bring off, ending a rally with Ford with inside pitch that almost hit him. Being called strike. Why have it Bill bill out of mind it. I'm okay with it. And I always thought an anti thanks for the call, buddy. Take it back this up when this was first broached. I mean to say that I was red isn't would be an understatement. I was held back. No way. Could this infiltrate the game? But let's be honest. If you think about you all the appeal, and this is how we romanticize baseball then and as much as we loved doing it, we've got to adjust and get get with the times here. You know, the days of Billy Martin and Earl Weaver and Lou Panella at a bunch of other managers that why Jimbo Leland hothead stormed out, kicking up their throat hats person. You can't argue balls and strikes you get booted anyway, and with with instant replay, there's nothing else to argue. So I hate to remove the human element from anything in life. But if it enhances the product, go 40. Yeah, nbt. Let's not pretend that Major league Baseball hasn't been thinking about this for a least a decade. Yeah, I know that they just started implementing it and the independent leagues and they And if you watched any of that the independent leagues you didn't notice it, really. It's an automated system. The UMP is still there, right. He still have to call it himself The bull or strike, depending on what he's signaled from the from the automated system, And if the automated system glitches or is egregiously wrong, he can overrule it. So it's not like you're getting rid of that human factor completely. But I reason I say that Major league baseball has been thinking about this forever is because, as built pointed out, there's instant replay. There's all these other things, but when you watch a major league baseball game is a damn box on the screen. You know what I mean? We know like we as the consumer know what's a ball in a straight, always right, though Let's not like I agree, and a lot of it has to do with the angle of that. We're looking at it from you know what I mean? So you know, we can't necessarily See if the cameras like two straight on where it crosses the plate, or you know the altitude or, you know, longitude and go the other way. No, that's guy. 30. What I mean, Yeah, I like that. I remember that from school, but it's the height and the width of where the ball is like. We can't tell where it across the plate. You know what it means, But we can see it. So I know that Major league baseball has been thinking about this for a long time. If you have guys that are as bad as Angel Hernandez was last night, and he's right, Bill, he did throw J A happ. Now I can't fully exonerate J have because you're a professional. "Mike Golic's and Mike goal of Jr and We're Getting Closer and closer yesterday felt like one of those rare good days where We got a lot of news out of the world of sports, everyone getting closer and closer to getting back working together. And actually trying to make this thing work for a 2020 season all in pursuit of some rings. But 2020 on a Monday in the Gold House had a bit of a different tenor for that same reason is dead. You cross the finish line on a major milestone. Yes, yes, Yes, I did. Listen, We got a lot to talk about today. A lot of great guess we're going to set up some of the N ba teams as well that I get ready to play in the bubble come July 30th but it was a big night in the In the Golan cost. Listen, when I started this show in 1998 with Tony Bruno, I think you were nine. You were well. You were born in 89. You were going to be 10. Jake was going to be nine and Sydney was going to be five. That's when this when this show started so long ago, and the one thing I always wanted to do is Is really involved my family in this show over the years, it's what turned out to be a couple of decades worth off time. And you've got to kind of know the family know the kids as they grew up to the point now or, you know, from a work aspect. The greatest thing is to be able to work with your kid like you get to work with Mike. But the personal things as well we've seen over three years ago. Jake get engaged to his college sweetheart, Jenny, and they've been married just over three years now just had their anniversary July 15 and my youngest Sydney had been dating a young man named Von Braun Occur who went to Harvard played football. There is he's a tight end on the roster for the Chicago Bears been playing there for the last four years. And whenever that ends, he is going to go to medical school to become an infectious disease. Doctor still can't figure out what he's doing with all of us. I know so under that, that kind of guy and getting to know our family last night, then pop the question to Sydney. Took hey, wanted to go to a place. He had first gone here in Connecticut with Sydney when he first came to Connecticut and kind of lured her back there yesterday last evening, and he popped the question to her. And yes, a couple of months ago. He did. I ask permission. This is about to say this is a big thing that people still asked if it was a fingernail way. Talk about some old school things that are still good. And I do think this is one that is still good. Hey, this was actually back in February. When he and I had a moment alone. He talked about it and asked if you know if it would be okay to ask Sydney to marry him. So we had a great discussion. There is a wonderful young man. Wonderful family, a cz. Well, so we we all knew it was a whole ring thing, You know? Yeah. There was a very coordinated effort on this one. It really was, and it worked out Well, he did a masterful job with the engagement. Unlike mine, which was the worst of all time. What kind of set our social media play to that today? But last night s O. Jake and Jenny drove in from Boston, knowing that that this was going to happen, and the only one who didn't know was Sidney. And she was obviously surprise. Obviously said yes, obviously cried a lot. And whatever that wedding is going to be. Could it finally be the day finally be the day when she is off my credit card Yet no II still highly doubt that there are on Ly Mohr expenses in your future as the golden wedding event here, brats to them. It was a great celebration last night, so I may be a little rough this morning. Exactly going going. Go here on ESPN Radio again. Michael Michael of Junior here, the newly engaged Sydney Gola. Still asleep somewhere in the home right now, so big congrats to her and Ben on that news. We'll have plenty more updates on that as they wake up, and still hopefully Ben will be humbled enough in all of this to still maybe offer. Go get us coffee at exactly the right was a big fight yesterday. Now what we thought was going to be a big fight in the NFL turned out to actually go a lot easier than expected. In all of this over the course of yesterday, Remember, we had talked about leading up a lot of the hurdles still left for the NFL to climb in order to get to an agreement with the players and get to a season in all this well. We seem to have come a long way in a short time. The NFL, in addition to announcing that covert testing would be daily for the 1st 2 weeks of training camp, leading up, also announced that one of the other hurdles the preseason games last night, Adam Schefter reported that the NFL had offered the players a proposal of no preseason games, which had been a big hang up for it had and Georgia Tala, the Nflpa's assistant executive director of external affairs, which is looks good on a business card. Lord he did tweet, he said, Listen that this was not a You know? When it came out yesterday, where the players obviously and mass tweeted the star players to try and have their voice heard, and they didn't want preseason games in the NFL, talked about two preseason games. George is saying in here, he said, the NFL didn't offer or give up preseason games for us the union. He's saying they had the right to choose or not under the Ciba already now..
NFLPA's Smith: Workouts go against player safety
"Figure out what is the right way for players to get ready to play in the NFL. Without undue risk, and the undue risk this offseason is exposure to the thing that for a long time shutdown all sports in this country, the Corona virus in the cove in 19 pandemic, So we've seen quarterbacks quarterback specifically right. I'm sure it's happening everywhere. Let's have more places and yet, but we've seen two very visible situations. Tom Brady, trying to get with his new team, the Patriots, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and get them going. Russell Wilson also working out with teams in Seattle, sort of in a very public way, trying to get the chemistry and get it going because we haven't had a TA is in many camps in all this off season, and we're a month away from starting training camps will divorce Smith, the head of the Players Association, the NFLPA, the executive director, said. Look, guys, don't do this. The the NFLPA doctor has come out, said Don't work out with each other. And tomorrow. Smith tried to reinforce that over the weekend by saying, Look, guys, what you're doing is in Congress with the message we're trying to send, which is stay healthy. Stay safe so we can get to training camp. And start the regular season. And then you have Tom Brady holding these very public workouts, and Russell Wilson, I'm sure more free for doing it. But those are the eyes and those of the people that we see well, and quite honestly, I see both sides of it. I I see what the more Smith again when you're ahead of the union. It's the majority that you're you're trying to protect You correct one of the reasons that the last Ciba past because it benefitted more of the majority. On this one. And that's what that's what the head of the union has to look out for. And remember the last debate. When players wanted a different type of OT, a system they wanted less two a days padded practices in two days, it was all about player safety. And now you're going into a season where there's going to be a whole lot of player safety and covert testing and such and dear saying, guys, if you want me to talk to the league and about player safety in the league is just going to look at me and say How much your players really care about safety. Look at all the quarterbacks out there with 89 other teammates, disregarding not helping the what you're supposed to be doing when covert around so I understand more society that and I understand the player's side of quite honestly, I understand player if I were still a player now I was in a position to D line where you're not getting together with everybody and having workouts. But if I was a quarterback or a receiver or in this case is at the centre goes there, too. And my quarterback was like, especially if it's a new quarterback, even if it's not. Hey, let's get together. Work like hell. Yeah, let's go. I mean, right in this, I would be doing the exact same thing. So a lot of them are Jeff

Using seabirds to track ocean health
"We have and Roquetas Velarde as she's here to talk about using birds to you understand the Ocean Heinrich Atta Hello Sarah. How are you good? Thank you so much for joining us. What kinds of birds are useful for tracking what's going on in the ocean so I mainly working with turns and goals the but we can use Albatross is's bubis any kind of seabird will be giving you some type of information depending on how they use the environment so they could be telling you things about their prey species so if they you know certain kinds of fish? What else can they tell you about the ocean and the ecosystem they can tell you about whether their prey is very abundant or low usually low ocean temperatures will be the base of more productivity activity and so when the water temperature increases then the productivity goes down so they will tell you about that they can also tell you about pollution either from chemicals or from <unk> plastics like particles that they accumulate in their stomachs? Why is it easier say if you're looking at service temperatures and ocean productivity what why would it be easier to look at the birds rather than say the fish or plankton plight dinner something like that will for example of you want to know something about the fish? Usually you have to go with very expensive oceanographic research trips and if you're looking at the birds and you were at the nesting colony Lonie for example you can count the number of birds that are nesting or the number of nests that are established and then you can also weigh the birds or you can see the clutch size which means maybe they will lay one egg instead stood up two or three which is also indicative of lower food availability lewer ocean productivity these are much more accessible markers of all of these things rather than going to the ocean and trying to find the fish or measuring a lot love a large swath of ocean temperature exactly and if you have a large population nesting in a single island they will be your samplers and they will go out in every direction and they will bring back to the nesting area the information regarding whether there's a lot of food and what type of food varies right. There's also this important link between seabirds and fish stocks. We're talking commercial fishing here. Can you describe some of the past observations survey ships of this connection. My own experience for example is that when I started measuring or looking at the Diet of the birds that I work with they were feeding mainly on Pacific Sardine starting up saga about ninety percent of their diet was Pacific Sardine and a fleet the local sardine fishing fleet was taking a lot of sardines later on the birds started showing less and less sardine in their diet so about in nineteen eighty nine I. I started seeing almost no sardines in their diet and I went to the fishing fleet industry and I told him well you know the Sardinas almost gone and they were surprised because they were fishing a lot of sardine. They we're still being able to get a lot of sardines. The Sardine population collapsed in a couple of years so they're actually not only indicating how much there is but they can be predictors of what is going to happen in the following fishing thinks seasons because they are feeding on the small sardines which are not being fished yet by the fleet in these small sardines will eventually grow up in one or two years. These sardines are also known as Forage Fish. They're they are really a key species. What happens when they're over-fish? Twenty decline will the overfishing of all the forage fish is very important something that is happening worldwide one thing that is very important in about these fishes that they are key species. If we have a the upwelling ecosystems in the ocean that's when cold water comes up bringing with it nutrients and food for other birds and fish yes exactly that's what Edward Enhances the production of phytoplankton and so apply often. There's a lot of species many many species of Blackston those many many species of plankton get eaten by only a few species of forage rich fish like sardines anchovies carrying sent so forth these few species of fish are then used by seabirds other larger fish marine mammals of many many species even giant squid many species. He's so it's their job to turn plankton into meet exactly and that's why it's called the wasp waist ecosystem it goes through this very narrow tunnel and if that tunnel is disrupted then you're going to have a lot of Hungary a big species not able to deal with plankton is those fish are taken by fisheries and they're not taking sustainably then that will disrupt the foot web very drastically so birds are here not only not only is that food web important to them but there also these indicators of when this is happening yes so they're telling us that the plankton is not available through for example Tsk Sardine or northern anchalee or other species has following these birds on their colonies. How does that line up with other evidence like what satellites can tell us? Actually we're trying to do that right now. Many other scientists costs are doing that trying to relate for example the number of birds that are nesting or the breeding success to images that indicate sea surface temperature or chlorophyll concentration. It's turning out to be very interesting thing because it confirms that the CIBA's are actually telling us very interesting information even without having satellites for example if we didn't have satellites we could learn about the state of the ocean just by looking at what the seaward are are doing we have started deploying small tiny radio's on seabirds and that is also very interesting because that will tell us where they're feeding what routes migratory routes. They're following before getting to the breeding colony. What does it mean if their migration routes change or the breeding colony changes position or something like that well the breeding colonies have been changing positions recently in many species and that is a reflection of what's going on in the? The Ocean for example the sears that I work with the elegant turns through the years their nesting area has been shifting north they first established a little colony near San Diego then that colony grew and then they went all the way a close to L. A.. It's about a hundred kilometers in miles. It's about five hundred miles more or less so they're moving north and that has coincided with an increase in the ocean temperatures and increase in the ocean ocean temperatures anomalies in the Gulf of California and that is a reflection of they're not finding enough food where they used to nest in his Larisa where I work. How long have you been studying? These turns forty two years. We need to keep studying these patterns because our life is too short and if several generations of humans follow the studies then we'll be able to find something even more interesting than what we're finding doc. No all right thank you so much will thank you for inviting me for this interview and I hope many people read it here because I think it's good for the public to learn about all these issues and rick head of alarm.
