Kavanaugh Shouldn't Be Presumed Innocent?
On Tuesday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer told reporters on Capitol Hill that he doesn't believe Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh should be presumed innocent before Thursday's hearing. Schumer said, "There's no presumption of innocence or guilt when you have a nominee before you." That's not true. Every American has the presumption of innocence until or unless they're found guilty. So why is Schumer making these claims? It really makes you think twice about where the Democratic party's values lay. The real tragedy is that not one Democrat has spoken up to defend Kavanaugh or due process. Stay tuned to Thursday's No Spin News as we will continue to cover the topic.

Episode 23: Jones in studio, Ortiz, Ngannou, Overeem, Hackleman, Smolka, more
Gentlemen. Welcome to. Back in your life on this Monday, November twenty six two thousand and eighteen Hello everyone. Marijuana. Welcome back to the program. Hope you had a love the weekend. Let me just by water covert. Their hope you had a lovely week. If you celebrate thanksgiving. Hope you had a very nice thanksgiving with your family and friends ate a lot of now you're feeling good about life. You're very full. And you're very thank full as well. We've lost to discuss on the program today. My friends there's a lot going on as always it was very interesting weekend in the world of MMA. It's very rare that the UFC has an event over the weekend. And they're not the top story on Monday morning. Very rare doesn't happen often. That's the case this week. My friends you've had an event in Beijing China. It was a fun event. It was entertaining card. It was a car that had a lot of noteworthy things that happened on it most notable. Francis guy new is back what a performance what a win forty four seconds. I saw thirty seconds forty five forty four forty three whatever the case is he beat Curtis blades. Once again this time in less than a minute. He is back. He looked good. He looked rather spilt. I thought looked quick did not seem tentative big win for France in Gano. He wins via TKO. I know blades was a little upset over the stoppage. I thought it was the right call and now once again, we have Francis in guy new lupita total as a player at heavyweight. That's that's very big news. Also of note ouster over him when his fight against her gay law veg he snaps his two fight losing streak. And it was interesting because Beijing to me could have been a sort of changing of the guard at heavyweight with with some new blood emerging in the end, it's the old dogs and in particular else Jovem who emerges as a player still with the big boys. So over him wins in Ghana wins, some other nice performances. Huge win for Lewis smoker. Snapping his four fight of losing streak. Taking the fight on short notice way. These young is turning into a sensation at one hundred fifteen pounds. And the seriously has something with her not only is she a very talented fighter. She hails from China, and to have a fighter like that who hails from China that is a very big deal for the company. She is aggressive. She is fun. She's a finisher. She's good on her feet and on the ground as we saw on Saturday morning, by the way, love the fact that the card was over by eight twenty eastern time. I mean who could beat that who can complain about that. So it was a good card, and we'll talk about the card, and we'll talk to some of those players on this card, but the story of the weekend, and the story that I think everyone is still kind of digesting talking about on this Monday morning slash afternoon is golden boy M as first foray into the world of mixed. Martial arts, golden, boy promotions to be more precise. And they had their first show Saturday night at the forum in Inglewood, California. And. Of course, it was Tito Ortiz vs chocolate number three, and it ended up being a pretty sad affair, and it ended up being the kind of fight that. I think a lot of us were expecting Chuck did not look good. He did not look like the old iceman. He had not fought in eight years. He's coming off a string of bad losses. And he got knocked out in the first round by Tito Ortiz who had not scored a knockout in the first round. And well over a decade Tito did not look spectacular. But obviously looked a lot better than Chuck. It was uncomfortable to watch. It was sad to watch. I felt the pressed afterwards I did pay forty dollars for that pay for you. I actually thought the pay per view had some nice moments. The broadcast team will be talking to one of those members of the team in a matter of seconds. I thought was strong Todd Grisham Frank MIR Rashad Evans, I think one of the big winners of the weekend was Doron win who also be talking to later in the program funding, the Komeito vent against the veteran. Filthy, Tom Lawlor, he is a protege of one Daniel Cormet, a lot more people know who Doron. China's now five a professional went the distance. But clearly a name that we all should be paying attention to include star on the rise. So it was an opportunity to give some guy some rubs so to speak, but the main event was very depressing affair, and I think afterwards there's a lot of grandstanding. There's a lot of people saying like, oh, you know, Chuck Schumer type things my general take is. And we'll have plenty of time to talk about on the show, but very cooked up. My general take is look we can't tell these guys went to retire. We have our own opinion. They're not gonna listen to us there fighters by trade. That's what they do. Chuck Adele has said on numerous occasions that he did not feel alive. He needed this back in his life. He did not want to retire when he was asked to retire. It was the right call to retire back in two thousand ten when he lost a rich Franklin, but he was just alive in the build up in the training camp Saturday night. This is what he lives for. And in the end, you could talk about his trainers. You talk about. The commission Indiana comes down to Chuck in his family because they're the ones who are going to have to deal with the repercussions. And they wanted us. They knew the repercussions. They wanted it. Now, I think they'd be crazy to ever do this again. But I can't sit back here and say like, oh, Chuck you need to do this you need to that. Look, no, one tells me what to do not tell him. What to do? He's a big boy, he's a grown, man. He's going to have to deal with the repercussions now commissions like California, should they be above this. Yeah, they probably should. But guess what? They'll be Texas. They'll be Florida. They'll be Oklahoma. They'll be China. They'll be Saudi Arabia. They'll be Abu Dhabi. They'll be they'll be some other jurisdiction on the planet. That's going to say. Yeah, we want tease versus chocolate or some variation of that. You know, we're entering an interesting time in our sport where there are guys. Like, Tito, teas and Chuck Adele way past their prime who are fighting and are making uncomfortable for us. Remember, this sport is just twenty five years young in this country. And at this juncture, we haven't had a lot. Of examples of what we saw on Saturday. Boxing, has a whole book full of those examples uncomfortable fights where we're fighters are fighting well past their prime not looking good not looking fit. Just just just making you sad. Make you depressed getting knocked out in fights. And against opponents that you never thought a million years when they were in their prime that they would get knocked out by well, that's what we're dealing with. Now is the sport tunes to grow gonna see a lot more fighters with long-term injuries with CTE with all kinds of things boxing has been dealing with quit some time, and Chuck is not the first example because certainly we have seen it. We saw it with. We saw it with with BJ pan. We saw with others. We continue to see it with some fighters as well. But Chuck is one of the biggest names that we've seen a guy stick around a little too long comeback. Try to rekindle that fire and it just goes horribly wrong. He was not the old iceman in there. And it was foolish to think that he'd be able to turn back the clock. It really was. It was uncomfortable to watch. It seemed like a guy that didn't know what he was doing in there. It really did. And in many ways, I thought Tito could have ended the fight a lot sooner. That's how just uncomfortable. The whole thing was that's how poor he looked in there. That's no knock on Chuck. He's been around for so long. He's taking a lot of shots. He shouldn't have come back. But I can't sit here and say Chuck you need to retire next. You in Barish stuff, you know, he's a legend, and he can do whatever the heck he wants. Now, we can choose not to take part in it. We could choose not to watch it or cover it or pay for it. But the the big boy. This big boy, this is a guy who has done this for the majority of his life. It's it's just a byproduct of the sport. It really is. And that's why you don't have them going out there and saying, yeah, I'm done because I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back. I hope that people close to him. That's this really falls on you know, his wife. It's it's his friends. Those are the people who should be sitting down and saying, no. But there's no guarantee of that because they were in the front row, and they they should have known. What was going to happen in this fight? So there's a lot to break down. There's lots of digest. Let me run down today's lineup. And then we shall get to our first guest of the day, the f- or mention there on win will be on at around. Three. Fifty five teeter tease will join us prior to him at around three forty loose smoke. Oh will be on at around three thirty talking about his big win this past weekend. In beijing. Carlos Silva, the president of PF L will join us at three o'clock in studio. That's going to be a lot of fun. Speaking of in-studio, it has been seven years. I said eight earlier in the day. It's actually seven seven years since John Jones joins us in studio. He will be in studio at three o'clock. I lie to thirty John Jones in studio. John bones Jones in studio, two thirty to five ouster over him, one forty five and gun and. Okay. We have a change of plans. I let us go to these machine. We'll be joined later by Frank MIR. But first, let's go to machine to be joined by a man who I was very curious about what he thought of the teas chuckled L fight on Saturday. He was not there. He prior to Saturday night had been a part of Chuck adele's training camp for every one of his twenty nine professional fights had cornered him for twenty seven of those twenty nine professional fights. But he did not take part in the training camp for this fight to not take part in the fight itself. As far as a cornerman position is concerned was vocal in the build up. Once was announced that he did not feel comfortable about the whole thing. And I thought it'd be interesting to hear his take on it all so let's go to these machine and say Hello to John Hackel. Men who has been by Chuck Adele side for so many years, but was not on Saturday night. John we actually only see your mouth here. Can you tilt your camera a little bit? So it's your. Full face, a little more a little more. Yeah. There we go next year glasses. Okay. Little how are you? John gay? I'm good. Okay. Can you hear me? See me. We're all good. See I can hear you. Okay. Kate like a little higher. If you don't mind because I feel like your nose at this point. Okay. Yeah. Oh, that's much better. That's incredibly better. Yes. That's perfect. John good to have you on the show. You obviously weren't in attendance on Saturday. Did you watch the fight? Wife to on this phone, and I could see see it about as good as I can see you right now. But yeah, I didn't wanna go. I didn't wanna watch it last minute. When I knew it was going to go on. I actually was talking to my friend on the phone and I had him. He was watching it. So I had them FaceTime. Just so I could I kinda watch it a little. I thought that would make it easier. 'cause I I was nervous. I was like pacing all day were you you were not a part of his training camp. Right. No, not at all. Not at all. Will you ask to be part of it? Yes. Why weren't you apart of it? There's a lot of reasons I think mainly just. I think they knew I think he knew how I felt about it. And I think they don't want that kind of I've in the camp like somebody that's not for it. And it seemed like everybody around there was all like a they're all into it. And it was a great thing. And I did. So I wanna go mainly just to make sure that he was okay. And that everything was maybe, you know, fix something if it was broken or maybe talk someone into not doing this. Or I didn't know I just, but I think they sense my vibe because I was I was a little too negative about it going in. I think and and I think that I don't think they wanted that by around. So I didn't go did it bother you that you were not a part of it. Yes. And no, I mean, maybe I could have done something a little different actor talked about it. Maybe I could have maybe change up. Some things stint seem like there was a strategy at all blaming his camp at all their new guys that have never trained with them before. And you know, without a chance it's hard to have a really good strategy. But but then with that said, you know, if they saw the in the in the training camp, they could have maybe made it either judgment or just pulled the whole thing. But I, but you know, like, I said I wasn't there. I can't I can't speak for him. I've actually pulled guys out of fights during training camps. If I think they don't look good. And they're going to get hurt safety is number one for me always has been. So I don't know. I don't you know, it just didn't work out. And so, you know, I didn't I didn't want to bother him while he was in his training camp. And sometimes it was kinda hard to talk to his circle of people now. Were you in communication with him at all in the training camp? Yeah, we chatted a couple times. But like I said, he's kinda hard. He was kind of hard to get in touch with. You know, he had a lot of people that were you know, communicating for him. So you know, we talked probably like maybe maybe once a week. Okay. And and that's kind of weird for us. Oh, wow. Because usually you talk more than that. Yeah. During something like this. Yeah. If he doesn't have a training camp. It just every day. You know, we talked. I don't know how often, but we just talked like if I'm gonna be town or he's going to be here. We we text. We're not like buddies. We've never been buddies more like, you know, kind of family, right? But we don't hang out together or anything. But yeah, I felt bad about this fight from the get-go. I was against it from the get-go. I I was there when we decided he was going to retire. And when he the then he said, well, I wasn't really ready to retire back dance. I had to get you know, member he was saying that. Yeah. Yeah. He was he was eight years ago. He was ready eight years ago because you know, after the retrenchment fight. I mean, he was more than ready. Then right thought. So anyway, I mean, maybe I was wrong. But I thought he was ready to retire after rich Franklin Kayode him when when you saw the footage of him at the open workouts a lot a lot was made of that. Did you did you have more concerned? No, I I actually didn't because. We like when the cameras would come on in the old days, even like the camera and address room. I knew it was showing to the other dressing room where his opponent was before the fight. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I have do crazy stuff like, you know, switched out and just like make a crazy move. Just to throw buddy off. And I honestly thought that's what he was doing as I was just sandbagging. Wow. Okay. I really did. So you didn't order the pay per view. No. I didn't. But you're aware when the fight was about the star. Yeah. I was I was talking to one of my students, and he's sell checks gonna fight. Now, said FaceTime ING, he FaceTime e saw watched it through that what's going through your mind. This. So you told me twenty nine profiles heading into this one you part of all twenty nine training camps. You do not corner him for two of those fights. But you're still part of the fight here. You are at home watching this eight years, the build billable that what is going through your mind as the fight is starting looking at my. Yeah. As had I was have my wife. Check check my pulse to my my pulse was like I get nervous in the dress around. But I was like ten times more nervous because at least in the dressing room in the corner. I can have some control over what happens, and I can protect him or I can give them some strategies that was just like my heart was pounding. And the second second get clipped and went down. I just felt sick to my stomach is like can travesty know it was a travesty. When prior to the knockout, you you see the way he's fighting. Yeah. I mean, you know, it's it's inevitable. Right. Like, you know, it's coming. It's like watching. It's about to watch a car crash. Right. It just seemed from the get-go that it was. But. Then in the back of my mind. You know, forget the front of my mind, which was saying this in the back of mind, I was thinking, okay. He's gonna land that right hand checks fill land the right hand come on his land it come on. Yeah. Please hands down put your hands down. And I was thinking he's gonna he's gonna land that right hand in the back of my mind, but in front of my mind, I was like they can this does not look good. Was it worse than you thought? Yeah. Wow. In what way? For kale? I didn't think I thought I thought some bad things we're going to happen. I thought, you know, check know with a chance I thought it would be a KO if he lost later in the fight and more of a back and forth thing until he got clipped because I think Tito's still has his chin for the most part. And still Chuck hasn't knockout punch, but like stuck his like can check his like a tank, you know, he's not really that fast. But he has a huge cannon. When when it shoots lands in knocks the hell out of people, but his his tank now doesn't have any armor. So he still has a huge cannon. But it doesn't have any armor. So people can you know, people can shoot back at them and and hurt him. And that's what happens now with him. What did you think of Tito's performance? I thought he did everything he had to do. And and I thought it was for lack of a better term stellar. You know, I think stellar against. Almost fifty year old check. No. But I don't think it would be stellar against anybody in the top twenty in the USA or anything like that. But it was stellar for the older group of guys like that. When you actually saw him getting knocked out. How did you react? And my heart. I just my heart my wife around because she knows how emotional I get during those times than my heart. I just felt sick. I honestly felt sick to my stomach. And I was like, and then I had a little bit of relief. I honestly did. They. Okay. Maybe now everybody is circle. Now, they get it. Yeah. They should have got it with Franklin fight. I don't know why. I guess the time. I don't know the time, you know, made their memory different or something of that fight. I don't know. They've maybe they should watch that fight. But I think I thought I was relieved I think now they're going to realize no, just no more, no more. Here's so many options. He has he get at such a comfortable, and and and and fun and happy life without getting punched in the face anymore. And I think I hope they'll realize. That now. And so okay. So, you know, how personal this rivalry was you know, how I may not have been for you because you were just coaching you don't strike me as that of guy. But you know, about the history between those two you were there for the two fights the build up all the drama for the happen against Tito vol people, and then to see his reaction was there any part of us like come on. You weren't beating chuckle del. This is not vindication. Like, how are you reacting towards the whole celebration? When you're seeing your guy Chuck on the ground there. I have a big thing about people that celebrate until their opponent gets up that to me. That's disrespect. I don't like that. But with that said, I don't think Chuck Tito's little digging the thing and doing that. I think that was part of it. I think it's an entertainment factor. And I don't I don't think it was like he beat you. A check and older Chuck, but he's an older. Tito. So I think it's relative. And I I don't think it was anything wrong with that. And I think he finally and him he finally beat you know, the guy that pumped him twice. I mean, not about twice punked him at ultimate fighter show beat him at every event, and he finally beat him. So I I don't really think that his his little s little act after the fight. I don't know. I think it was part of the whole the whole scheme and the whole shenanigans of that whole crazy card. It was just kinda weird. The whole thing was weird. But I don't hold. I don't hold him against. I don't hold anything against Tito. Then he went and hugged Chuck and showed respect. And so I think it was something that he finally got to be Chuck. You know, I don't I don't I don't really think what he did was inappropriate. I really don't. I mean, he did beat another judge. But he's an all the Tito fair. That's a fair point. Was there a party that really? You wish that you could be in that cage on Saturday to just be with your guys could swim. Even though you didn't agree with the whole thing. But just I really do. Yeah. I do I do. But with that said might protection is a really big thing. All by fighters all the referees know that how big I am protected. My guys like I'm the towel throwing guy. But her Dane was so quick, and he protected Chuck. He was like he was right there. He did stricken outstanding job. So I I mean, I couldn't protect any more than than than her deemed it because it happened so quick and her dean was like fricken right there. And I really appreciate that. He will he was and a really thankful and grateful for that. And he really so I there's nothing else that could have done, but hug chug after and I wish I could have done that. Yeah. I heard one of the very best as you know. I would imagine he was a little quicker on his toes for this particular fight given. The with both did a great great job. And I'm really thankful for that. So have you talked to Chuck in the aftermath? Yeah, we're gonna have a get together next week. This couple of things I wanna say I wanna hear what he has to say. But. Not that I'm gonna be surprised by anything. I just think he has such a good life. And I just I just I, you know, we're just gonna talk about. I'm just gonna reiterate please not again. That's that's the biggest thing. Please. Not again, just because you know, safety and everyone you guys everybody loves chocolate. Everybody wants the best for jogging. And and we don't want to see him in that position. Again, did you reach out to him? Or did he reach out, by the way? You're you're actually blocking the camera by holding. If you do the other hand, we see your fully see this hand. They're there, you're fine. We'd see your your full face anyway. So it's not a big deal. But did you reach out to him? Or did he reach out after? He texted me the next morning. But I I texted that night. I texted his wife said, basically, no more. That's I mean, you know, that's it. Right. You know? And then he takes me back. I'm fine. Oh, I talked to him. Okay. I actually called her. I wasn't. I was not in a good mood. I called her and he was right there as I talked to many sounded Finers like that was like like ten minutes act of the KO or you know, and it's like he sounded fine. And that really relieves me. And then I texted the next morning. And then he takes back that he's gonna he's gonna come up next week. And we're gonna have a little chat even in the post FAI press conference. He wouldn't say that he was done for sure that this was a why do you think he has such a hard time doing it? I mean, it's hard. It's a hard thing for fighter like MTA. Do. I mean that's been his identity, and that's been his life for so long. People don't understand that you know, it's like. It's just it has been part of his everything, you know. I'm white fighters have a hard time. He I don't know but his money situation. But I I know that there's fighters out there with no money problems that should be fighting in more. They just want that last. It's such a high. It's like an adrenaline. You know, you've four feeling and I think it's hard for someone like him not to do it. That's his identity. You know? So he says for eight years it's been a void in his life. So hopefully, this one something else has to fill the void like you can't make you can't quit smoking and not chew gum or drink more coffee, or whatever just like, you got to replace that kind of that kind of habit with with something else with him, you know, fighting as much you know, it was whole life so Intel he can replace it with something. I think he's he's gonna it's gonna be hard. For him. Used to fill the void. Do you think if you were in his corner that this would have ended up differently? No, I really don't. I really I I wanna trash this corner. I really do. But I can because I don't I don't know what the strategy was. But they're they seem like they know what the hell they're doing some reputable guys McKay guys and stuff. So I don't I don't think that the one that would not one right hand landed, you know, I don't think anything would have been different. If I was in the corner. I don't think I could. Change anything. I really don't do you think that maybe maybe I could have had something different in the strategy. But check that really good with strategies is check wants to bang. So no matter what the strategies Chuck's default is bang. Right. Do you think that was it for him? Do you think in your heart? You think you'll ever fight against? Yes. I don't think it will again. I do not think he will fight again ID willing to bet on it. And I will I will be a lot more. And you know, I should've been more active in this one in in trying to stop it. I didn't because he's a grown, man. And I didn't you know. I don't I don't want to get involved in money issues. Maybe you know. So maybe needed the money. I'd on my saying he did. But I I don't wanna be the guy that you know, what? Yeah, you're gonna make X amount. But no, I'm saying you can't make that much money that will might do that. So but now after this fight, I will be more proactive there. John. I appreciate the honesty and the candor. I'm sorry turned out this way. But thank you for coming on talking about it. Hey, thanks for having such a great show. And and a great platform. Thank you. I appreciate it. There is John how common stopping by. So let's remain on this topic and say Hello to the man who defeated chocolate Dell on Saturday night the great Tito Ortiz. Joining us in a matter of moments view, the match Skype. Let's Skype works better. This time. There is the victorious. Tito ortiz. Joining us. Tito, how're you? Congratulations. Thank you doing wonderful. Got enjoy actually this morning. I'm sure that felt great. I'm sure this Monday feels great to finally get that win over chocolate Dell as you know, and again, by the way, I want to say thank you for coming on earlier than you were scheduled. I think Frank MIR sick or something. So appreciate you doing that. The story on this Monday isn't necessarily OTT on. It's Chuck look, really bad. Does that bother you? Yeah. I worked really hard for this. I mean, I. Rock a best buy that. I know. Everything concert afford Cam. There was no home might whole simple. I mean, I took a year off of an expert from my neck, but I never. Got through camp of teen. So I never worked harder. My life. And dominated each hugging. His game. Let's I'm sorry to do this again. Tito, but we're going to call you on the phone because for some reason, our Skype just doesn't seem to agree with yours. I'm sorry about that. We're gonna call you right now cakes. I wanna hear what you have to say about this or we're gonna call you right now. No matter of seconds here. There's something about the Skype situation over there in. Whereas Huntington beach, I do believe the Huntington beach badboy so good to hear Hackel men's assessment curious to hear Tito right off the bat say that he doesn't necessarily feel like he's getting the respect he deserves after the fact because that does seem to be the store everyone talking necessarily about not necessarily about Tito, but. Zeroing in on Chuck, and I do believe we have Tito back. He'd or you there. Yes. I am. Okay. Sorry about that again. So do you not feel insured? You not feel like you're getting the respect that you deserve on this Monday. After that win. No, just because you know, Chuck said so much I was gonna knock me out all kinds of fans and jokes about yet. Again. What do you got a crew? And I prove that I'm a vicious fighter. I'm proved that I haven't really lost it. He would say well you lost the chart twice when you guys are in your prime. I wasn't in my mind. I was you know, I was only in the game away five years for years. I wasn't staus still burning. I'm still learning. I was going through my back problems before I back surgery. There was so many things that I'll. But now when I'm healthy now when I'm on point, and Chuck said, you wanna fight me. He's wanting to be called me out. He's the one who agreed to he's wanted kept talking trash saying they I'm a tune of fight building. Everything the way he wanted to do. And all of a sudden when I smash an easy way. I did people say all that was there that it used to be. Well, why would you say so much things that how you're gonna smash the halogen fight and everybody else followed that same. Leave. He did. And then when I do they bashing for it. But it's probably show that there's so many chocolate fans out there. And I'm sorry to all the fans that I learned at I. You've been in the cage them twice before. You've obviously known him for a long time. You train with him back in the day when you were in the cage with them on Saturday and feeling about early on. Did that seem like the old shut to you? Or did it seem like a slower older Chuck? I looked across the same to me. Of course when the competition Cam about. I throwing I'm smile with younger guys now guys were fast. So you he did but a little slower, but at the same time as both my train on there's all the chain pars that I had Muslims Marietta, deem, j Silva all these guys that are pastoring younger. That's what I was prepared for Trump says, you know, in the are the videos that he had him. So I hit and miss that. That's not how he's doing real years and. I was thought he was bagging. But combinations. They did throw. He got one by two and a half minute marketing like he was a little bit faster. But it's just I was way back him my country's way. Basser his I felt great me. He touched me, and it was on my forearm and not on it. I mean, like I say I'm sparring with young guys now guys game, and I'm competing against them. I just. Respect should be shown a little bit on my side. 'cause I couldn't hard work to have an eight surgeries or next year. He's back surgery three degrees. And I'm still able to dismantle Chuck like that. And yes, he took his time. And he's the one who called me out. That's what I don't understand people bag on me. And I'm not going to call them out. I said you shouldn't do this the beginning. I started said, no, you shouldn't do this is like, oh what you're frayed. Once again. Here we go again, what he does afraid if I know better was ever like that. I always you wanna make sure that made a big piece of the pie. And in this fight. We did after everything you guys have been through. And and we're looking at some of the highlights right now after everything you guys have been through after all the back and forth, the drama dating back to the days, and everything that entailed when you finally finished him when you knocked him out. What did that feel like? Vicious. I I I don't know. I just felt like an animal married. I just everything worked out perfect. August all the sparring all the met work all the arounds. We did all the wrestling. I did all the road work. I did eighteen weeks. I sacrifice my body. Like, no other. I I was excited. I hit him with the punches fail. And I wanna make sure that he stayed down. And I was caught in a moment, of course, doing my celebration as one of my fights. But he said a lot about things about me. And I'm not a good person. And I take personal because I am a person. My my friends my family get my fans, what about the commission getting in the way of your celebration. There were you know, by that. They're not your teeth. I know I feel like they've never seen you. They want stopping me. No way. No. That night say man. I had a great night. I got I just everything just the place. It was it's from the very very beginning of cutting weight making the way with super easy on Monday. I was to twenty two on Tuesday hours to eighteen on Wednesday. I was too I think to fifteen on thanksgiving. I'll is two thirteen and then Friday when I woke up I was till nine. So I would await who've just perfect thanksgiving. I actually went on my way, and I reached out my father says to see what I could be on face getting to get back to you know. So I went and fed homeless for about four and a half hours as the laugh factory in Hollywood 'cause already Santa's hotel. So I did that and fed people thanksgiving thanksgiving dinner, and all of the first things given in twenty one years ago wasn't able the wow. You never fought around. Thanks. I mean, I guess you you fought at the end of the year not that that weekend. So it was was tough timing and understand. But I feel like the commission maybe signal the fact that they were like newbies or something. Because everyone knows that you're do that. I think that they thought that you were going to attack him. And that's why they were getting all worried. They didn't know how the celebration usually plays out. And that's what they were getting all up in your grill. Someone needed to educate them that. That's what you do after your fights. Yeah. Exactly. Why I forgot when I choked shells on the kid because they gotta me van, okay? But happening. Fast to Trump's is there is there any part of you in high. I know I know this is a personal thing. I know you kind of buried the hatchet as well any part of you that feels bad for Chuck. Not bad. You know, I still form 'cause you know, yet the other day as much as he said, he wasn't my friend. I still see as one of my boys, and I still have that feeling. And like I said the beginning. I I told me shouldn't be Chinda the fight. But he just demand it, and you can tell a man what to do. I mean. I people never tell me what to do. And I don't want. I always just I do what I wanna do. And he had a first fist of what he shouldn't be in there for me. And that's I don't know. Sorry, because he did what he wanted to you know, he's a warrior and he's a true champion. And I I respect them. I've always respected them. Why do you still consider him one of your boys considering all that's been said, especially from him about you? I am man. You know, you know, they say keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. It is what it is. And so okay after the fact he would not say that that he is done. He said he's going to think about it. And what whatnot we just had John how come in on his as going to urge him to retire. Do you feel like that's the end you feel like you should retire? Well, I I don't know. I mean, he bought a cheat. Ortiz vicious man, I'm telling you I had to buy camp was amazing. I had no injuries. I. I was like I could beat anybody that night that night, I could destroy anybody. I was just on point. I was it was my night. Everything has world happens for reason chopping continue to fight give them somewhat more about five. Jim someone who actually can can do. Yet unified. I was not to fight. If he goes back to normal camp. I make you do. Well, he just you can't go to a new camp. And then all of a sudden you're gonna compete at the same level. You always have the camp, you always been with and being John Ackerman was a blessing John Ackerman amazing coach, and I didn't understand why he wasn't John Ackerman. But chocolate those the man himself grown, man. He's a great father and he's gonna make decisions. What about you was that your last fight? Yep. Under percent man hundred percent, if there's no reason to come back and fight anybody else. I mean live there. There's no one out there. You know? I thought those who. I've done what I needed to do. Now, it's going to some little bit better, focus, my mind strictly on on a business of helping these fighters and Saturn promotion, we started new promotion the promotion, so let's just keep it going. I mean, you'll Oscar in Arizona as on Friday ably, and we're gonna sit down, but the numbers together. And they said it made sense. They said it was amazing. I believe almost sold out house for the head open. And they were happy. They're really really happy. Okay. I'm gonna ask you about that in a second. But you say you feel better than ever you fell vicious. You're on point amazing training camp the way coat was phenomenal. And and and you got win over your rival. And you made a lot of money as you said why like you don't think in a year, you'll be tempted? Here's one more one. There's always another guy out there. Can you say definitively that that was the end? Yes, I can say that was the end I wanna enjoy life, man. I want to do business. I want to focus on what's gonna be my next chapter of my life and promotion is where it's at. I think there's a lot of fives out there. I take advantage of. And I wanna give my mom kids to be come brands. I wanna get up Cheney become partners of their fight business that they put their lives on the line when you step into the cage. Okay. Now, the future of golden boy Emma may as it was called. Can you also say definitively that that was not a one off? They are here to stay. I believe we are here to stay. Yes. Surrey? And when you say, we what's your pardon? All this. Well, we're gonna have to see when I sit down with them on Friday. You know? I worked at USC for such a long time and sixteen years. I know the ends and outs and everything I just never got an opportunity to use my skills on that side of it. It's time to really get educated on it be a hard worker and dedicate myself to one hundred percents chocolate. They argues me Dana white getting to become president overnight of USC. It took them a lot of hardworking dedication time with his family and to learn how to do it the right way. And he's a master at it man, Dana. Why is the best USC is the best? I don't want to compete against USC. No colo. There's a Pepsi. I see an AT and T T mobile. I mean, there's always competition with each other for you got shabby. I mean, you have see you're gonna have golden volume. And so would you like to be the the Dana white if you will the promoter? Do you wanna have a financial statement? What rule do you think is best for you? Besser me as helping them make the sessions on bringing break fighters giving those fires opportunity to. Become great SARS to become the next characters become next door teams. Chuck adele's rampages Clinton. Wednesdays jackson. You know? I think it's just going out and finding those guys guys Conor McGregor. There's many people out there. They don't get up chain to do it. And I want to give that up to one of the big talking points heading into this this car this debut card for golden boy was that, you know, the fighters would make more the purses that I I know that they aren't always. You know, they are always accurate and telling the true story, but the person there was a big discrepancy over what you guys made with the rest of the card made. So how's this any different than say, you have see card where there's a big discrepancy between the the main eventers and the undercard guys. I mean, as you get the level of fighters that were in there. I mean, we're banking on me and shot. Now playing simple we've got young fighters that we need to build we need to build brands. And that's what's really important given us opportunity and seeing how hard it in general now be able to do a little bit better for the next card and serve building. Guys. Don't get me wrong. We're not gonna do another review. That's not right. Yeah. That's the next now starts to build the brand itself and to make fighters brands themselves back the next step is building guys. So you'd like to have some sort of TV deal, right where we're more people can watch. Exactly and go around the world finding the best fighters. And I think that's really important and be able to vet those guys have three will have their own sponsorships. You know, say what they want to say then and never really sensor is I think that's really important. Do you have any idea any ballpark number as to what this did on pay per view? Not yet. I've heard so far in the to hundreds. It's over that. I'm very very very happy. I mean, of course, these super talks with all the people who hired people using everything, you know, we had to do our homework on Sunday yesterday trying to block a lot of things and we're still doing today, and you kind of realize how hard yours truly works to make that happen images difficult to make sure that guys oh pirate things. And usually does job of it. We're trying to do the same thing or selves Oscar de LA Hoya as you know is a legend and does a fine job in boxing. But I was critical of him in the build up to this fight. It didn't feel like he had his heart into it. He was mispronouncing Chuck's name. All the time. He didn't know anything about the like the press conference. I thought you and Chuck did a way better job than him at selling. This. Do you think that he wants to be a part of this or golden boy may remains a thing that he should maybe just focus on boxing and someone like you focus on the way. May. There's your answer. Depend a medallion our to defend Oscar he and the boxing promoter. Yeah. Something that he would be fun to do. This is an experienced hand. But you know, what let's give you guys are not chain to fight us to the fans, and he did no more than that. And when I got up to sit down and talk him, he's like, and this MA bills, a totally different monster go, but we can do well at it. We just gotta work hard and make the right things happen for these spiders futures. He goes Geeta hours a fighter and I became motor. I'll get back to boxing. I know you're a fighter in mixed. Martial arts. You wanna be promoter? We can do it together. And this this stuff them right fighters. So that'll be the steps. Okay. Ideally, how many shows would you like to do next year? I'm at least eight to ten shows. Okay. During the year. I mean, maybe even twelve maybe we do one a month and just go around the United States or the world and have a small show and all of them. And like I say I am looking to see I don't want to compete with USC USC is a an animal on machine. There's no one's gonna be better than them. But I just wanna get the fighters and opportunity to compete at the can't compete me us you. Congrats. Tito, thanks for doing this great job on Saturday. And hopefully, you know, the the beef is over you guys can move on maybe friends as you said on Saturday, and maybe even work together. I don't think anyone wants to see Chuck fight again. And maybe there's a home for him at golden. Boy, what do you think? Yes. There's a possibility. I mean, of course, going out shooting fighters get shot doing that. But we just gotta work hard. I know he was with USC for a while. And as an investor, but he didn't really work that much. So if you're gonna work with me, you're gonna work hard. You do things I work as hard possibly care. Good luck. Tito, thank you very much. Congrats again. Awesome. And appreciate guys. Thank you. All right. There is not coming off his victory over chocolate Dell on Saturday night at the forum, the fabulous forum in Inglewood, California. He finally gets his win over Tito Ortiz last time, she'd be over Chuck Adele last time, they was two thousand and six he says, that's it for him. He says it's the beginning of golden boy, Emma may we'll see if those are true. Doubts about the first one. But we'll see. Talk more about that later on as I said at the top of the show the other big story over the past weekend was see back in China in Beijing to be exact and the Amine of featured Francis gun versus Curtis blades to and the big story going into that one would be could Francis. Finally, turn back the clock. Could he get back on track? Could he snap his losing streak? Could he regain the form that he had in two thousand seventeen you talk about turning back the clock? That's when you you talk about Chuck Adele Ortiz in this case, it's not that much of a clock to turn back. Well, guess what? He did it. He knocked him out in less than a minute. He is back on track. He's looking good. He is feeling good. And he's here to talk about it. Also, let's go to the phone lines and say Hello to the put that on in gun new. No one, my friend. How are you Phillies tussle? Messia vehicle. How? This. You've had some big wins in your life. But I feel like this one felt better than all the maybe even come by considering everything you've been through over the past year is that fair is that possible that this one felt better than anyone of your wins in the past. That's true. That true. You know, the that did of his win wasn't this seemed like what of war, you know, that I component input like two thousand seventeen. I didn't like you know, really enjoyed victory. North of like, okay, I win. Good like, not like just one small valuable. You know what I mean? Yeah. Of course, considering everything you've been through all the critics the ups and downs. You end the year on on a very high note were you did you feel like this was do or die for you Francis? Did you feel like this was must win? Did you feel more nervous than you had in the past? Yes. I said more nervous. You know? I said Mon as what I said before, you know, I tried really hard to put myself in a good position to put myself in shit to connecting my mind. But you know, you still have that kind of. That didn't in your mind that kind of like doubt doubt on. Then all like, I mean, I did everything where I try everything much. I can get this win. But it kind of like that little thing like. Dining my like. Okay. What's going to happen? Exact you know. And then you know, like, no this should be a win. And then mostly I mean, I think because I I did with my with my with my law active did and I really like. Okay. That's good duties happen happen. It happened. You know, you can do with it dry. You know? So then I went through on three did you work with anyone Francis? You know, like a sports psychiatrist someone like that to help you get over things. Mentally, did you did you hire anyone because you talked about in the Derek Lewis fight that you know, you're just couldn't pull the trigger. Did anyone help you get over that hump? I try I work I work with someone. Yeah. In France on of. I mean, I didn't know much about out like he's gonna work. He works on not that at least, I try, you know, you might be something in it. And then a try three, you know. But I keep doing I mean, and I can tear easy was that. I'm like. If. Apple that. That mean, something, you know, that might mean something then my height something, you know, so. I work with some cycles. I saw that you had your old team around you for non Lopez your longtime head coach was there. It seemed like you went back to your roots for this one. Did it feel right? Did it did it feel? Okay. You had the familiar faces around you. It seemed like you were going back to your old team. Yes. Accomp- one. No, you know, who we have. He had signed very hard time. And then you know, Jim was. Be different than it was that we give we focused on the on the work on the way did that. Have those have been back in? I think that that was that was I thought about even before the fight again the Lewis I thought about about it. And I said, I I need something like that. And that's why I came back here, you know, for my root friend event. Two team. Everything. So you in Fernande are okay now after the comments that he said about ego, and all that you guys settled your differences. What do you mean? Kind of. I mean, we will see. Even after all this. You didn't sit down and talk about it. Or you you still feel like there's things that need to be worked out. Yes, we we we we spoke about it. But you know. I think we have to talk. Okay. What do you have to talk about? What do you have to clear up? Well, I think that. Anything was doing on our way. Okay. When to kill on your show. I call them up right now if you wanna to do it right here. No, I'm just so are you no longer living in Las Vegas. No, I'm even investing this. I just came back in. Okay. I'll be back in. I noticed that you walked out, the two parks all eyes on me. Why was that? Yeah. About to you know, some of my requirement that song. And then I was like. I mean, I like it. I feel it on like. Okay. Time to to overcome. It's time to stop. You know? He's kind of like us you what you've been to that. Can you confident? It was nice. I thought it was very appropriate from the from the moment the fight started. Did you feel like yourself again? Did you feel like you could just let loose? Hot I had work in lot about. So even before get my mind was clear that we're going to go to her tonight on a yes, I. Oh when mall that I feel lose confidence. I mean, I don't want to I didn't want to mess up. The I feel like I get this one, you know, but I was like being crucial Minolta is not a. It's not a it's not easy fighter. So like booking washout that good. He seemed to think that the stoppage was early. What did you think? I think you wasn't early because fold. When he says. I went there. And then I I did a little bit like, okay or not Danny STAN started to crop my leg that is when I conscious to hit him. And I didn't think I think it was right? He goes. Anyway, I was. I want to continue right? Oh, I think it was. I think it was the right cause while he was not defending himself. He went down face. I I know he came back up. But I I had no problem. I thought it was one hundred percent the right call. I think so. Yeah. What was it like in China for you was that your first time there? Yes. Time in China. You know? Oh the. Route to China, noting was everything was completed. Maybe even visa what China. Oh my goodness. So I didn't go in China on September seventeen for the site. Komo Shaw because I can be in Los Angeles. And then. We applied for his the VS you walk hot for look how top forty but they didn't give me give me give me. And then I came back to spend it, I Mon modern Mon in two huskies. They give me like one hundred nine. On november. Wow. Yeah. And then I went into China onto ten. On man hot. I went there. I couldn't be one. My talk one didn't work. No internet. No, no, social media not gang on. Then. I was like what I think. Mistake like come here by my. There was a way to. To make just on. I could talk back, but I couldn't yours like eleven our flights. So. Wasn't worth it on back to our just like the stain die because I stopped that, you know, but I and jeans insist to get a, and then I kind of like injury, basically, you know, like, we couldn't I couldn't eat like free like ease. You these year because they say, yes, you're gonna wash out the USA temperature or to keep me on aches. You might get into me. You don't know which media, did you don't know what company you don't know. Not have our juicy washout. So it's kind of like scary. You don't know where to put your the only team that, you know, for sure that you eat noodles and meat and fish and tell you that then you gonna you're gonna eat meat anymore. So he's kind of like it complicate everything was complicated. Wow. Well, at least you got the victory. I I noticed speaking of your your your diet. I noticed that you were for your title fight. You are to sixty three. I believe this when you're fifty four, but like you were like a slim to fifty four it was that a conscious decision on your part it fully you were slimmer. Yes. Even again, a Cutty even to Louisiana was to like two fifty fault. Yeah. And then uniform type of fight I could wait. I went to like. For the win day. Yes. I was heavier. Hideous. Yes, you know, like. A lot of teams that I'm just learning. I I didn't crew grow up. I let the team that. I I don't know. So I'm just learning like dire. Like, how to eat like, you know, I crew up in so move war that, you know, just having doesn't matter what you have to eat as soon as you have as long as you have something to eat, you gonna praise God, you know, you don't check. What is it? You're just print like, oh, Finally, I have something to it. You know? I don't know how to control what to eat stuff like that. And then now that I have a proficient f- either a have to learn that. I mean, I'm learning. It's easy. Try. Put teams to get because in this level is all about. This then I'm trying to figure out the deters to optimize my. My right. My full. There ever a point Francis. Where you thought you you might never feel this feeling ever. Again, the feeling of victory you doubted yourself. I know times it was very hard on you this year and all the public criticism and the drama. Did you ever doubt that you'd ever get back to this moment? You know? I honestly, I doubt. I mean like I kind of like feel like Jane is running away. And then I like some doubt on my in me. But I always show. I I'm I don't know why I have that sitting. But I'm always short that. I going to be Trump. I'm going to come back then that Sean is to win how so that was like my concern. But I I knew that going to happen. I you know, like. Might be my first time in the sport to be in this situation back into life. I used to I know how sometime you can go t at the bottom. And then that doesn't mean he's supposed to you know, you can't move calm any kind of short. But you was very hot was. Yes. Like Cup outy. You can't think you're like. Something. Can you think you're to sit in clear something is blocking you to have confidence in yourself, even do in your mind? You're like, you know, that is going to happen. But how you say so you was the kind of feeling that. I'm like I need like. Recre- to to get the team back. So this. That's exactly what I I was thinking for this site. Did you hear from Dana white afterwards? No. Why? Well, he was critical critical of you after your loss. I feel like congratulations would have been nice some kind of tech some kind of, you know, great job. I don't know if you're gonna if you're going to be openly critical after loss. Private text would be would be a nice gesture. You know, got something that I have done chose the what you're doing for yourself. And as long as you're doing your bed is okay. I mean people want. Always be okay. With your you know. So I don't know. I don't know. Join the focus just have to focus on me. And then a put any team or besides did you did you delete in? Yep. Sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt. No, go ahead. I was just curious. Did you delete all your old tweets? I didn't delete it. You know? I get hacked, right? Yeah. Yes. I get hacked. Okay. I get some high hacker mess up. My socials. Like, my puts like any kind of security we change everything on then he wasn't it. He kicking kicking me away from my social. So I couldn't get access in it. I didn't Daley. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yes. I remember about that on on Instagram and all that stuff. Okay. I was just curious if you're I don't know he was. Ace dot com. Tutors says boo even my Email address. Oh, my changed it. Yeah. It's annoying. So I I know it's fresh, but I'm just curious if you had your way who would you want next who makes sense nex? I said. Jio? I'm excited for this weekend to see what happened. Yeah. Junior win like to. I would like to have to you, know, wise. I do wonder revenge against. I feel like the winner of this weekend's main event between scientists and tight we've us makes the most sense. Yes. No. It's not wrong. Yeah. It makes sense. It makes sense to me. Anyway. Who me if I right? I need. Call me. Me that he can give me the fight. So I'm waiting for. But for now enjoy the victory, my friend. What a year for you amazing. Did you feel like it was a must win? I've been like talking mush. Yeah. I didn't even like. Talking needed. But this was needed win. This was a yeah, it was a land. We had to you know, we had to put him away put him away in the way we did. After say a lot of hours of work went into this crap. I cannot always take my preparation series. But big fan to the guys in Denver team elevating. They did a great job in. Yeah. Sharpening me up. And. Yeah. To my attended everything. And. Yeah, work happened the way I did. I feel like every time. Everyone wants to say, oh Alastair is done. He's past his prime over the hill. You come back with a performance like that to remind us that you are not pasture prime. You are not over the hill. I feel like this has happened several times throughout your career. This one though correct me from wrong. This one was special because I feel like after the last two performances. I it was starting to, you know, like your age and everything like that that that talk was starting like is it really is it really it for Alastair has he really reached that point where we should start talking about retirement. Then boom, you beat an up and comer like Sergei Pablo vich this one had to feel sweet if not the sweetest. Well, I don't know man. There's there's there's been so many this is my eighty. I think eighty nine flight. Wow. The next one is going to be into my ninetieth. Yeah. We've we we've we've met a couple of comebacks. Some I'm just I'm just happy to turn out. Right. And I'm still enjoying the ride the journey should speak. You know 'cause it was again two different camp again different city. Again, you gotta figure out again. I've felt age wise I could still make the jump. So let's just go for it, man. And then to be honest what else to do right, right? I don't feel old. I feel younger than I am over for it with, you know, back in the days in some of the gold. I am I don't feel. I don't feel for that. I don't feel old. I'm not gonna feel young. I don't feel your meter. But. It's like, I'm still going strong. I guess I love trading. I love doing it. I'm still kicking in the gym. They're still improvement damn so eager to learn. So. Yeah. And if I put some hair joy in my hair, look too. So we're not gonna give in we're going to keep on going. We're going to do this this this one jump back Shambo figure it out after that that was a little bit the mindset going into them. Her had a great chemistry the guys over there. And. Yeah. You could say motivation and hunger. Background. Okay. So it's been awhile since we talked. So I'm just curious. How did you end up in Denver, obviously, I know that you fought Curtis plates in in June back in Chicago. But how did you actually end up there? What what was the process that led you to to to moving out there for this camp and training with blades his team? Actually, finding one. So I ran into blades after he beat Mark hunt. And we are talking when I was like, hey, let's go train together because I didn't have many much partners. And he's kinda like coming guy. But then our fight got announced. So we're gonna stop talking. In the loss to fight. And then even happening fight. I was like I need to any the switch it up. I need to change things. Secondary. All my daughter's has come. Okay. So. Then the fight happen loss fight. But then after five to me it was like, hey, I got a switch some things working out. So Jeff Shaw, they invest in your fault. He was trading Duane Ludwig. I was texting number do and let me come do session actually takes new Milan. Results in Denver at the time. But right before jump on the plan was like if I'm going to try and Curtis. Let me kind of a mess. Just let him coming rice might be awkward if I just show up all of a sudden message anything, I assure come train up takes you the address some in them ver-. And he sends me a message overtraining here in here at this. And this time I'd like I think it goes to over one PM or something so show up team innovation. I had no idea about version number no idea about the coaches Nordia who train sorta. Where 'cause I just walked in there didn't know what to expect. And they're all looking at me. Like, what is he doing here? But yeah, yeah. It was like kind of weird, but I just did the session. They were very polite team team energy was great and actually after two free days training there. I kinda Verdy felt like, hey this way to go. I kind of always gone instinct. Sports rationale, but also also using feeling and I felt like, hey, I have to really gone for this couple of Albuquerque. How to talk with the coach there this news. I'm gonna gonna different direction them stop here. So that was actually the end of Albuquerque, and then the figure out them for team elevating, but she's done and ever working. So since I was back in back in August. And you stayed there from August in member. Did you go back home tween? I was I was I was back home brief, okay, just dollar and just type some some some things I little brief holiday and Miami to a couple of days, but I was in base in Denver with the new. And it wasn't weird for you to be training with blades after what happened in that fight in June. No to me because I don't have any go. And I think for him as well because it was very cool. Very cool guy. He's he's living younger than I am. But of course, I don't treat them that way. Just see this as fighters top five, but he was a gentleman very good guy. Very no ego whatsoever. And that I don't know because before you never know how it is. But I just felt really good in that environment humiliation, really good team, energy coaches for awesome. And they also they also pay attention to the energy. And I just felt hi this. This is working out and Christmas, Brad. Would it be fair to say that you're gonna stay with them? That's a very, yeah. Yeah. But I already decided that before the outcome of this because the grove is there for me, and I feel. I feel growing and I just feel good. They're no secret that you've ounce around a bit over the last few years. Are you hoping that this is your final stop? I'm he's normal. If you're training for twenty five years, of course, you're going to have a couple of gyms, right? I've had a couple of Jim Jim I twenty five years, different coaches. I think it's very helpful to have different coaches because you just every has certain outlook has certain luggage. And that can be depleted after a while. So changes is is not a bad thing. Yeah. And and let's be honest. You don't have a couple more years left in me. Then I think it's time to to do something else. I wouldn't wanna be like Chuck, right? That's too old forty eight. Now, we're not gonna do that definitely gonna do. But a couple more years. Yes. And definitely hoping this would be my last stop when you when you see that Alastair is that a reminder that this game can be very cruel. You could be the man. But if you stick around for too long, you can end up like that. And people are starting to talk about to you like in a sort of charity sort of way. Like, I I you're not there yet. You haven't even hit forty yet. But is it a reminder of, you know? Sometimes you can extend your career, and it doesn't end up. Good for you. And it could be very dangerous. Did you view it that way what happened on Saturday night a long time ago? I already realized that defied game, you know. You're going to be a loser. Hot game sooner or later. So. And that. Yeah. You shouldn't hang around too long. I've been fighting for a long time. I I find it was in nineteen ninety seven twenty years ago. But. Yeah. You you should fight you need that you need to have clear important for yourself and don't come back standard. You miss it. Then you're fighter hard, and this and that, but in my opinion need find other stuff to fill that. Void right. What do you think? You'll do whenever that time comes how do you feel that? Void. I actually give that a lot of FOX what I'm gonna do is. I'm going to. Do a couple of things I'm gonna partially live in Thailand. Which is one of my goals. It's like beautiful lifestyle there. Yeah. I'm gonna start to coach because I just love being in the gym. And I'm going to have like a bunch of kids like not even I already have freaked goes. But I'm gonna have like three or four more. Wow. Keeps me. Nice and busy. Wow. I remember talking to you not that long ago. You said you don't change diapers. You want to have seven kids. It's a lot of diapers. That means they must have a great partner. Right. Yes. Wow. Must be nice to have so many kids. Never change diapers. I wish I had that deal. I'm gonna take something. I've seen as a factor is done. A all also have to get to. I'm afraid. I saw beautiful picture you posted. Did your daughter come to visit you when you landed which she there at the airport that she did she give you flowers or something or is that from someone else? Yeah. She she comes pick-me-up actually both daughters. And then we my other daughter was we went to her up seen my girls. Yeah. Legacy. True. Yeah. I thought you look great. I thought you were powerful you're on point the finish was vicious. It was it was somewhat vintage over overall where you happy with the entire body of work. Very happy very satisfied. It's kinda funny. How you you kind of beforehand ready feel like, hey, this is going to be at. Right. Yeah. And solely depending on my own shape and form and input and camp and everything because my opponent, I didn't or too much from him. You know, of course, you see some fights. But the Pfizer was sometime ago, actually, the internet lied because it's headed we'll see what six two two pretty two pounds actually for those guys like small he's actually like a light headway was doing everyday, then the guy's like more big than me than me. So okay. So. Yeah. But as you were walking out, you're feeling good. You had a feeling that things would go your way. Yeah. I felt the right in camp already felt in the camp or any felt on the way. On the on the on the walkout during everything. I already felt and the other thing that was really good. What's really cool as the five being in Beijing? My crib being many times Japan twelve years in Japan over seventy six Japan never fought in China. Actually on your one doing the PR two two years ago. You know, and I I like Asian Asian cool. I train in Thailand often at a couple of fights in Korea. Which was like absolutely insane fans were in my opinion, never that crates. Yes. In South Korea. So. Yeah, China was was cool. Right. Birthplace of many martial arts. Another chapter in in in my history source like, yeah. Very excited about that too. I was just about to ask you about that. Did you feel any similarities from the crowd? It's not Japan. But did if you know, the the Japanese crowd, they're they're they're they're famous for being very quiet and being very respectful same kind of thing in China. Or is it a different experience? Yeah. I definitely fall. I definitely felt the chemistry. Yeah. Yeah. The people are different kinda different. They're kinda different the kind of culturally different behave different slightly different. Okay. But in the end, I don't know. I just cannot grow up with Asian people. I guess how is the food there? Food was awesome. Awesome. Yeah. Yeah. And you can get around. No problem. You mean walk around there. Yeah. Actually, do I was just resting. No tell mostly okay, folks modern and yes, we did do the work. I did do the media Gatien. But most of all around the tell by the way avenue, John. John after the blades loss like that. Was that was also, you know, a very violent finish. And and it was somewhat hard to watch especially, you know, knowing you for so long how long did it take you to get over that one? Because I remember that night in Chicago a lot of people say, oh, this could be the end. I mean that was just really really, you know, it was a vicious ending. And you can hear it with elbows on the ground there for you, both physically, and mentally how long did it take for you to turn the page. You've always been good at that. But for that particular one, I'm curious. So I went back to Holland and. I I got stitching and Chicago of hospitals those like, you know, drama shooting victims and that guy so that was thing. Joe Romero came in. He was kinda like Punchdrunk something hurts he was like screaming vice crew that was kinda Larry's the next to the next. I went back to back to Holland. And you know, you start analyzing you start realizing, hey, what happened? Why did it happen? The way it happens. I'm pretty good at right half. A lot of fights eighty nine fights now. And and and you know, it's not that I lost. Several times. I like eighty percent winning Princeton lost like a number of losses. I'm good of analyzing it, and I'm good at just looking at what happened, objectively and. Yeah. Start making changes, and you know, to be honest. Okay. Six chima. Ed. Never good, right? You don't wanna have too many of those loss because that could really be the end of your career. But I was I when I lose I just wanna I just wanna play again. I just wanna do I wanna go, but I'm not gonna go again with the same configuration because it's a reason why lost we have to change some things, and you know, many times change a lot of stuff. Actually this time. Also change a lot of stuff and the main thing, of course, being the location being being switching teams or there's a couple more things. I changed as well. And then I just wanna go again. And I don't know it seems that. New weapons new ways of training new new methods. They're just they're just give you confidence. And I think I think that's a little bit the S of mixed martial arts to write fighting and self you keep going keep going, whatever. What else did you change other than the camp? I'm not gonna give you three narrowly. Not oh, I didn't. I didn't know it was a person like is very personal thing. No, it's not a personal thing. But. Yeah. I don't know. I just I just don't like to talk about everything. I never talk about everything. Right. I never give everything I give you I give you like a bunch. Yes. I mean, I it's a little bit hard to tonight at I'm trying to vacation, right? Sure. Sure. Sure. But. But but but but, but yeah, I I don't know. I don't want other other. I don't I don't I don't think the guarded tried to meddle when people to know everything about me. I know it's like sometimes like I asked you in the past about your walkout music. And you still haven't told me you remember when I asked you after you one sixty nine you said, I was like a salmon or something I still didn't get that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You're still are. Okay. So so there are a lot of other things. Wow. Multiple things. Yeah. Okay. Was it was it was it hard to fully be happy about the victory. When blades, you know, when your friend, your new your new teammate, and everyone is invested in him as well, he loses. So like was that awkward at all for you? Yeah. Cool guy. We've we worked. We were actually in the camp together. No IGA manage total Koga told a genuine guy guy. Good guy, right zero bad vibes. And trust me, I've trained reveal all the different fighters. Champions legends all types in less twenty five years and goodness. Is a good guy, man. He's just dedicated to the sport focused, no bad things at all. I can say about cheese Toyota character, it was a little bit mixed emotions in the locker room because yes, I had a beautiful victory. And then he had a kiddie laws actually wasn't because he was not really gone, and you would you would say many vent you'll out to go little bit further. But then again, it was a little bit wobbly Francis hits like storm, dude. Yeah. Would have mixed emotions, right? How soon do you want to return? Well. I can fight against soon. It's up to me. Oh. And actually, I have somebody in mind too. That would that was gonna be your next question. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I saw your tweet earlier today are are you referring to the Black Beast ball? Let's go. That's who you want you want. Derek lewis. Yeah. Yeah. How come I'm gonna I'm gonna be putting him away? Well, okay. He's a strong guy. But other than that. I'm not impressed by him. And. Yeah. If I'm gonna put him away. Wow. Okay. So that's the one because you didn't say Derek Lewis on Saturday. But now, that's who you want. Saturday. Everything was fresh that was number one number two, you know, in in in in in America press conference are different. It's more America one-liners challenge air, so there'd be more and then Asia, it's respectful in. It's more different different five today. I was definitely not going to challenge. Anybody was more about the respect. But since you're not Asian. Right. Right. Now, we're now we're back to business. Okay. Well, moving ahead. So Derek Lewis. That's the guy has he done something to bother you. Or you just feel like it's a good matchup. You know? His humor. I think it's stupid. A lot of people are laughing about it to me. It just doesn't make any sense. But also, I'm gonna take him out. Okay. So somewhat personal. No, it's absolutely not. I've never had anything about him. But I'm just gonna take him up. All right. I love it. Okay. Let's go. And sooner rather than later if possible. Shuna rydell. Yeah. Alastair? It's good to have you back, my friend. I was happy for you genuinely big win people out. I didn't count you out by the way. I never jumped off the bandwagon. You had a little dog. Never I'm a rider dialys ter-. I am not going to jump off until this thing is has no more wheels on one wheel left. I'm still there. I got your back. I'm gonna alter that area. Always congratulations, my friend. Enjoy your time with your family. Enjoy the holidays, and we'll talk to you soon. Thank you as always for for coming on the show. It's great to talk to gin. Yeah. Baby. Golf balls. Let's go. Thank you, all stir. There is over him coming off the big win over Sergei Pavlovich. And as he just said he wants hot balls. Derek Lewis coming off that loss to Daniel Cormie earlier this month, they Madison Square Garden. Let's see. I think it makes sense. Let's see if the obliges all right seven years ago, my friend seven years ago, the great John Jones who at the time was promoting you have C one forty his fight against leader. Machida? Join me in studio that is the last time Johnny bones Jones has been in studio. My program a hell of a lot has happened since then as far as this shows concern as far as his career is concerned, but he is back on December twenty ninth UFC, two thirty two he's fighting Alexander Gustafsson in a rematch in what I believe is a rematch of the greatest fight and you'll see history UFC one sixty five and the Harry his in the flesh, John. Are you? Sure know. Yeah, we're live, man. We're live. We don't mess around. Here. You got a heart out. You gotta leave. You gotta tight schedule eight. How are you? Dave. Everyone's in the house John here. I feel like I'm like looking at like like a like a Mirage right here your frame young. I know can you talk close to wanna hear you. How are you John? Great, man. Glad to be here. You look great. Thank you hair grove it. I'm actually gonna going to shave it off again for the fight. Okay. I thought the ball last got knock out. So why not try something different go ball again? So this is a real pleasure for me a real honor to have you here. I can't believe I'm talking to. Everybody when I put it out there. Everyone's like John coming in. It's so hard to get you. You're actually here. We're doing it, man. You're doing a whole media tour today. Yeah. All day. And can I ask you I was on the air what's going on earlier table drama with our counterparts? I take tweet about that. And they're a little they're gray. Staffs, lots of questions Ida pulling punches, and I'll go lay the smackdown, of course, that you're back. It was pissing off more Kellerman or Stephen Kellerman. Really? Yeah. But he didn't really pays me off who's asking spicy questions. You know stuff. I wasn't really wanting to get into. But things that I'm aware that sometimes it's necessary to get into. So it's just what it is. It's always got though. Yeah. I probably shouldn't tweeted that. All right. Well, it made it a bigger deal than what you don't do the whole delete thing anymore. I try not to as much. Okay. I've learned not to care as much. Oh, just let it be. Is that part of the maturation? John jones. I guess so. Yeah. Yeah. You don't care as much put up things that you wanted to put out like five six years ago. Yeah. Peaking away. You wanna put out? This is who you are taking early. I sure hope so I hope so you feel comfortable with who you are. I do come to my skin. Yeah. I do. I do you feel comfortable with how the people perceive you. The way people perceive, but part of me surrender to it. And just realize that it comes with the territory of being one of the all time leads sport. You know, like you like I mean, people say things like, and I'm not seeing that I'm in the same categories Jesus because I'm not even close even cheeses crew security. Chris crucified criticize rescue. So as like, you know, you look at guys like LeBron James who just build a school for young people. And he's still hated by many people look at you know, I I realize if you are in your sport. And if you are I mean. I mean, if you're an elite sports people are going to find things to pick at you for. I mean Dame Cormie Dana cronies a standup guy. Right. He has a lot of things. Right. And he people tell me all the time. How much they hate him. I just don't get it. Right. So there's something that comes with when you have a certain amount of greatness where you'll never quite beloved by everybody, and you have to be comfortable in that space. It takes a while to accept that. Right. It does it takes awhile except that. But you gotta learn to be grateful for it too. Because you're relevant, right? And you're not relevant, man. People don't give which way you go. What you're part of, you know, then that's that's that's that's when you really doing bad. So you know, when when I come out with things people wanna talk about it, and some, you know, half the audience a positive half negative. I'm just grateful to have one hundred percent of the audience. Right. They're not indifferent. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. When they're in different. They don't give a crap. Then then that's a real problem. Yeah. That's when your paper, your numbers, terrible, and and t shirts and sell in. And you know, so you feel like the game has missed you. I feel I. I feel like the game has missed me. But I also feel like they've had some athletes really keep them occupied kinda McGregor being the main guy guys. Then a great job of carrying the sport almost by himself for a while. Yeah. Have you missed the game? I missed the game tremendously. I appreciate the game more now that I have had it. Yeah. For sure a lot. What was there ever point? You thought you wouldn't get the game back that you wouldn't. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. You know facing that for your suspension, and I it was that was devastating. I had to really reevaluate a lot of things like what I think about the sport. And what I think about, you know, fighting overseas, or who am I out side of the sport. And all that was it was it was a major learning experience for me to go through what I just got out of would you have waited like if you would have gone for where you actually have waited or do you have just moved onto something I would have moved on real probably not to something else. I probably would have talked to the of see about getting out of my contract and trying to fight overseas. Okay. Wow. Yeah. That would have been weird, right? Not really. No. I feel like. I feel like a lot of organisms would be happy to have me. They pay me pretty well. Okay. Not the money that I make in the UFC. But I felt like you know, wherever I would move. I'd be one of the top priorities in that company and be treated well. But you wanted to move on from the sport. No, not move on from the sport. Or no do this. You know, it's there's not many things you can do to make a million dollars in one night. Right. Over a million dollars a night, you know, and I'm very aware that so I wouldn't have moved on from fighting. Now, this is a very special job to have it reminds if what we saw Saturday, and I know you said that you won't respond to Chuck anymore. Oh, yeah. But is there a lesson there? You know, I just asked your old friend Alastair over him. He was just on old. For instance, you've been around for around. He had a big win on Saturday. I dunno if you saw that. Yes. But just about like as a fighter for you to Alyssa. Yeah. Happy for you. As though when you when you watch that. Yeah. Putting aside like the whatever beef that you guys had I never really viewed it as a beef. I don't know about you know, trucks, staying relevant, right? But is that we like is that a reminder that you stay around too long. It doesn't matter. How good you are in your prime. Oftens in ends like that. Right best elite delete ended that way. Right. I mean, I mean the idea scenarios go out more like Floyd Mayweather extremely successful. And undefeated doesn't happen often. That's what makes us such a special thing. That's something that I said I'm trying to do I consider myself undefeated. So that's the idea is to go out not needing the sport. But doing it because you wanna be there. Not because you have to be there. I'm not saying, that's Chuck situation. But that's what I would assume. Right, and yeah, it's tough to watch. Man. It's tough to watch. I'm sure it was bittersweet. I fans I'm sure it's great to see him walk out. Again. You know, what the blue shorts the mullet or whatever the Moja mohawk. Yeah. And I'm sure they love to see him. But who wants to see him in that form, you know? So the key is protect yourself at all time. Fight smart. You know, obviously, the standing banking thing is entertaining. But you know, I'm in the business of. Win where you can you know? And if that's take down the guy and right amount, or whatever you gotta do win when you can and go out go out with some respect, you know, in your mind. Do you have an end point? Give an age where you say like, I don't wanna keep going after this. I feel unsatisfied, you know, like, I feel like I've accomplished so much in the sport. But I feel like some of my troubles have made me just unsatisfied. Right. Unfortunately, people don't separate the two very well. So a lot of people do, but some people don't some, you know, I have I've had extraordinary extraordinarily beautiful career inside of the gun outside. Yeah. It's gone. It's been very rocky as of late, and because of the as of late part, I feel like I have more to prove. Okay. So I'm gonna continue to go in there until I can get just a few solid good years out of the way of no controversy and just kicking. And only that that's that's my goal. So in a way has this almost extended your career it has it's safe to say it has. Yeah. My my originally I was talking about being retired by age thirty. Wow. And now, I'm thirty one. And and I feel like I have a lot to prove still does it ever. Like, I don't know if you're the type of sit back and think about the past. But does it bum. You out like I could be. So like that Beatrice Johnson streak. I would smash the hag, right? Have been mine. Yeah. Could have been mine. Those things a lot. I do. But I try to awesome said count age that hasn't hatched. You know what I mean? It's like, then a white says who knows how how many titles John would Pat if he hasn't been hadn't been suspended, you know, how many more millions will make. But who knows what what what else could have happened? Who knows of I would have gotten a fight that would've seriously hurt me or injury or loss or you just never know what would have happened. So I. I just tried to count hasn't hatched people's talked to what if right, of course, especially since I came to this company. They love you here at ESPN because of the way you fight because of the style what you came into the sport the youngest champion and everything like that. And I always hear from people. You know, what thirty for thirty years. Right. Yeah. The documentary series. John Jones that's gonna be it. Can't you can't do it now 'cause your career is still going on? But because of everything that you've been through are you worried that as you just said like some of those things that have happened recently. That's gonna be the first thing people talk about he was so great. But but but and maybe if you go through a streak of ten years with nothing you can push that to the the back burner, and it's not at the first sentence time. I'm awhile boy area thirty. Thirty one forty one. Well, anything crazy crazy. So can't guarantee it I like to but nothing's guaranteed. What's your question? Exactly. I'm say, well, I I'm just curious. If you're worried that this will be the first line of your story, right? No. I'm not worried about it. I'm aware that it probably will for a long time. You're at peace with that. I'm at peace with that. Yeah. Because at the end of the day, I when I signed up to get into the UFC it was to be able to afford diapers and to make sure my family's good. And make sure that you know, my branch in my family tree is different than the routes that I'm from. And and that's what I've been able to accomplish. And that's what I truly signed up for man. And then along the way I you know, I started wanting to be this guy for everybody else. And and I I've kind of gotten back to not really worrying about being something for everybody else and focusing on my own salvation, my own my health my own mental. And his spiritual well-being and what being my daughter's fiance. That's that's what I've learned that. It's true most important. And so I tend not to not to really worry about things that out of my control these folks on. Winning fights taking care of my management taking care of my team the things that I can control. And then all the rest is just. Yeah. He's got to got to go with it. I recall being newer than that, you'd be cho- gun and our call you holding court at that press conference at telling us about the story earlier in the morning, how're you took down the mugger and all that. And they were called talking to Dana white even use the clip in the promo for last year's Cormie fight where he's like now comes the serious part for for John Jones where all the leeches are gonna come. And you know is he gonna make the right decisions? If you could talk to that guy back in March of two thousand eleven about what's to come about certain decisions to bake would you like to do? So. And if so what would you say to him? Yeah. I don't I don't really know. If I like to talk to that guy. I feel like things a life are all necessary. A lot of things are necessary. Obviously I've made mistakes but mistakes teach you what you don't wanna be what you don't want to do what you don't want to be a part of, you know, really proud of myself. I like I made a lot of good lot of good decisions. And a lot of a lot of Buddha. Made a lot of good changes in my life. Yeah. I don't know what I would say, it's it's the younger John Jones. Honestly, I have I have a lot of things that that's happened in my life that I regret. But but but they've shaped me into the guy that I am today. And I'm really proud of the person that an today my kids really look up to me a lot. They really Meyer me provided for been a really great, father and. My family's happy and my actual close friends like knowing someone's name knowing people are completely different. You know, very close friends. I'm a great friends with them all and I'm proud about myself. Could I ask what your biggest regret? My biggest regret out of everything. Like is there one I've ever talked about public things that that you know, general public would know about it was in the pregnant woman in that hit and run car accident about four years ago. Now that was even though it was four years ago. Man, I it it is something everyone has a mother everyone has a wife or sister. And that was that was one of the worst situations. I've been a part of man, you know, had no clue that was pregnant woman. No a woman. I just know that it was I felt like it was a Fender bender type of thing. And I would say it wasn't finished building. But I I wasn't hurt. I felt fine. And and I assume that the person I hit wasn't wasn't her as well. And you know, hairline fracture in the women's arm. She was a pregnant woman, and it was a terrible terrible situation. Being a father of daughters and Vienna. Flee on say, you know, being Fresno loves his mother dearly. You Herman a woman is terrible. That's something that that's probably one of the few things that I that. I would totally take back. It's good. It's interesting that you you mentioned that one because some stuff having before. But I feel like that was the beginning of a string of things right? Because I situation that was taken away. And all that. It's amazing. You think about that a lot still? No, I don't think about it at all not not these days, you know, it was like four years ago. Yeah. Hairline fracture for years ago. Grow made almost a million dollars off the situation. I'm sure life's been changed forever. And I'm not making it. Okay. But I mean to be real. I mean, the good life goes on girl's life on healthy. And and. Happen. I'm sure a lot of people. That's even listen. Right. Odds some stupid that. No one knows about inaugural ever know about right? I know that for a fact, so I try not to hold myself at court too often. I remember telling us actually three years ago two weeks ago when I went out Kirke to talk to you. Remember that day we spent together we walked around the park. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That was your first interview since the accident, and I actually tweeted out like three years ago the anniversary was like a week ago three years ago. I went out credit talking John's one of the most memorable interviews in my career. You gave us the opportunity to talk to you. I and a lot has happened since then since that interview when you sit here, and you say, I change things I feel like people will go back to that interview. And other interviews, I don't believe him. Right, right. Why should people believe you now? Well. This may sound terrible. But a part of me really don't care if people believe me or not no respect it respect it. Yeah. I think what people don't realize is that even though I've had very controversial career over the last several years. I've really tried my off to to do things. Right. I'm aware that my kids are getting there. And you know, they're friends are having cell phones now, and and my actions, you know, they'll be able to read about one day. And so. I've been trying to do things the right way for a while. Now, I've had missed fortune. I really have. And and when you're me people aren't going to give you benefited out first of all because I'm good. And because I've I've done bad things in the past. But you know, I had had a situation where I took a melon Hansman pill, which I'm sure forty percent men in America have tried at least before out imagine. That's an only pill, and I got fired from work and publicly humiliated and became became somebody who's label to cheater no-one sympathizes for me because I'm multi-millionaire famous athlete. No one wants to sympathize for people like me. But you just gotta just gotta go with it. People have no one who said all that must be freaking terrible for this guy to be going through. How frigging garrison this is this for him and his wife, right? When one sees it from that perspective. So you just gotta realize that it's not a poor me situation. My last situation having what you saw was a teaspoon. Those taking a pension solid thrown into an Olympic size women pool and to be fired from work for a year lose all your endorsements. No one feels sorry for you people say, oh, well, if he he did coke when he was younger. So he must be guilty. It's just like it's just like instead of trying to interests that have having this poor me campaign. I just I just wanted to say. And just just keep getting my man. That's all I can do just keep game line. Are you doing anything differently in this camp to ensure there's no yeah? That's the scariest thing about this situation area. It's like it's like my last camp. I hired a hired a doctor where she had all these degrees. And she was doing my nutrition and supplementation. And I had I had a bigger team around me on that last fight than I've ever had before. Just literally I had a guy just to carry my bag. I had people mine. Attrition. I had guys for every martial arts discipline. I had I hired so many people to to ensure that I'd be damn core me, and I thought we did everything right? And for for literally of you think about the visual of a pinch of salt being thrown into an Olympic size women pool. How can you control? How can you can't control every factor? I mean, there's there's a chance that that your listeners. Are you have possibly has some type of something your body at one point you left that you side of what bust you for difference between me and you decided drug tests, everyday people. I mean, I'm fight. We we're not allowed to have certain sleep medications because you can pop for things that are sleep medications. So. I felt like I was doing things right leading up to the first day of Kwami fight. But I fell short and all I can do is just continue to just try to do things right, man. Just try to do things. Right. Into speed. Even more careful. The thing about being even more careful as you can run into a place where you're starting to become slightly paranoid paranoia. You don't trust people. You don't want anybody bringing food why fix your Cup of coffee. I haven't even had coffee from. I've been doing interviews all day then spent studios all day and every person every secretary has asked me today. Do I want a Cup of coffee before semi interview? I've set not every person 'cause I don't trust people the way I used to. So so am I doing anything differently? I really feel like I've been doing things right for a long time. Last time. I really was when I got in the head around car accident four years ago since then I took a mental enhancement pill like people do all the time. Lots have over. And this last situation. I I can say that I have no clue where it came from. And know that probably sixty percent people want believe me, and I gotta be okay with that. Are you happy that the return fight is against Gus considering your with him? Yes. I am happy with it. Because what I do is. I get to I get to answer multiple questions at once. How is young versity? How's it going to deal with this level of adversity? How is he gonna find office there for the first time, which is the most stupid thing? Right house going to do against somebody who pretty came pretty close to beat them. Right. I love this. Because it takes a lot of Basel. Do what I'm doing to step back out there to put yourself back out there to put yourself out there after you just? Had something extremely devastating happen to you. You know, like to get accused Joyce theorize when you know that you didn't do it and to have everything crashed in front of your eyes, and and to go through that level of depression and sadness and then risk coming back to work and risk eight all passed. We haven't into your again. It's like it takes boss takes a lot of balls. But I'm here for it. I'm here for the challenge. When no-one said it should be hired. I mean, no-one said it's supposed to be easy, right? When we spoke earlier this year, you told me that you checked into a rehab center did because of everything that's going on plus to deal with your mom's passing. Yeah. Yeah. When you're there's more like a trauma center it was trauma rehab. Okay. Was that a hard thing to you know, you have an ego. Right. Yeah. To go in people know who you are. Yeah. Did you feel like that was a blow to Eureka like how are you doing? It wasn't a blow to my ego. I went to a place called the guesthouse Ocala in Ocala, Florida, people consider it one of the best trauma therapy centers. And and the country. There's other celebrities there and stuff like that. And so it wasn't it wasn't. It wasn't a blow to my ego. Because the knew that I wasn't alone with topping about sadness talking about talking about. Addiction talking about trauma, childhood trauma and things that dealt trauma. And it was great, man. It was it was exactly what I need it, man. I I I've had a lot of things go on throughout my life. A lot of good and a lot of bad, and I've never talked about any of it to anybody on a professional level. And it was good. I did a lot of crime and behinds with almost thirty days of crying. Yeah. Crying and praying and talking about just life, and man, I used to think psychiatrists and counselors refer the week. And I realized that it's for everybody. Do I also realize that depression is for everybody, you know, being a guy who's undefeated, you know, multimillionaire, I think I'm gonna put looking guy. Right. I thought that I can never be the type of person that was verily sad and depressed, and and this summer, I truly was severely side and depressed. So I got to learn a lot about the whole thing about depression about trauma about addiction. And and I feel I felt for men. This. I feel weight lifted off my shoulders, and I actually think it's gonna be something. I'd do every summer. Oh every summer. I think I wanna spend thirty to sixty days with just grouping. Now, are you continuing to talk to someone even I was for a while. I was talking to a counselor for awhile Albuquerque. And then when my training camp start at just felt like I was struggling too much. I've seen this guy three times a week. I felt like it was jazz juggling way too much. So I told him that I picked up with him after this fight. Okay. Great. Because you know, my goal is to win the title back and reevaluate how I feel now that everything is back flown in the direction has always been, you know, making sure that that I'm just handle on it. Well, would it be fair to call you sober? Now. Are you sober? I still drink. Okay. Yeah. So much spoke to every once in a while. Okay. Are you at a good place? Yeah. Well, I mean, I don't know. I- Poon owes coach you tell your coaches about the drank that I'm done high being not not like not like a crazy crazy amount. You know, some weekends mainly on the weekends. You know, you wanna be sober? Or is that not, you know, it was something that out something I was striving for especially going to rehab this summer. You know, I I was striving for complete sobriety. Yeah. But it wasn't. I'm not ready for it. It's not it's not who I was. And why am in my life and my career, and I'm at a place to be honest with myself, but being in there, definitely matured me a lot, you know, talking about why people drinking and things like that. And what I learned area was a lot of times alcoholism or even person who smokes every day. A lot of times is the reckless related to trauma, trauma or trauma in general. And people don't realize why they're doing certain things, you know. No, it's not it's not normal that drink every weekend or smoke every day. A lot of time. You're masking lotta times, you're masking something, and that's what I learned. So I learned that I was masking things I learned some of the things that I was masking and. And just look at it. Honestly, will you stop leading up to the fight or. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. For sure. Yeah. Yeah. How's your now? I know. Okay. We haven't gone there. Yeah. I don't know. I I don't know, man. I I like to enjoy myself in to enjoy. So I feel and we just have a couple of minutes left. Here's flying by. Thank you for the time, the greatest robbery and UC histories, you versus Daniel cormier. We've talked about this before. I remember is it arriver all it has to be it when you guys go back and forth. I know you're up to technically, even though California would say, you know, one no contest he acknowledges that it's you know, to for you. He doesn't acknowledge it though. He does I feel like I feel like in some interviews. He'll say like, I've always say it to you guys. He beat me beat me, fair and square. He and then other view interviews. He goes. But did he really beat me? Okay. Because you could be because because you had something in your system. Right. So we can't say that you cheat. It I understood the truth of the matter is depending on who is interviewing with or when it's convenient to him. He can say he can look like he's being a big man in San I'm mature enough to amid John beat me. But then you look and you turn around the next day. He saying. But did he really be? I say which one is going to be a man and say that I beat you. Or you're going to blame it on a pinch of salt being thrown into an Olympic size women pool. Really a pinch of salt is what loud another man to knock you out in front of your family, pincher salt. My question is he says he's retiring in March. I personally don't believe him knowing the competitor that he is that he will be able to walk away without fighting you another time Dana white said recently, he wants to be more fights at I feel like it's inevitable that you too will again. We have to see this. I feel like if I were to happen. It'd be him challenging me at light heavyweight or it would be that you see throwing a ridiculous amount of money. I make it happen heavyweight. Uh-huh. That's that's how it's going to happen. Did you agree with me that it's not done? It is done in your mind. Yeah. It's done man done. Do you saw me unstaged saying, hey, guys? Why are you guys born Daniel? Guys, a hell of a father. He's a hell of a teammate. He's you know, I aspire to be a lot more like this man at that very moment. You were done. I was done man. I was done sitting there crying national TV. I was absolutely. A lot has happened since then he talks a lot of trash what I love it for him to just man up and say God damn guys once and for all on record. This is what happened John Jones. He beat me the first time he'd beat me after cocaine right by unanimous decision in the second time he'd beat me by knockout. Right. And then the hate is gonna say 'cause you do steroids and then rebuttal once again will be a pinch of salt and Olympic size women pool. Fine. Just like when I first came on I want because my arms were long because my brothers were in the NFL, just an athlete. All they always going to be excuses, man. Nobody would never say, hey, this kid's good. And as if that is what it is even I don't like the guy. I don't mean like his personality of blah. But I mean that blame Mellon handsome it. You know, I'm sort of babble on let me it was just what you got you guys bring out the best in each other. But also the worst innocence because it's so personal at times the Instagram post back and forth, and he's posting days. You're posting things. I just I don't believe that he'll be able to walk away. And you see want to see it happen because of the money that you guys generate. Yeah, we do we do the business again. Yeah. But for me, I don't hate them at all people talk to me about constantly. Yeah. Is if as if we're one and one, but I'm too and organs Cormie like I said once I fought him at a disadvantage and won by unanimous decision. What's people's excuse for that? Right. There's no excuse for that. I'm a better fighting the second time I beat them by knockout. And I guess I gave people excuse for that one by having metabolites my system, but in my heart. I know who I am and -ccomplish then got nothing. Prove last thing. How are things that Jackson wink, a lot of drama Grey's days as Donaldson? Cronies what's going on? What is great, man? Every everything is good, man. Everything's good on the team and everything's good on the team injections mixed martial arts. And my opinion is is is when the top three martial arts programs in the world have been foods. I don't know five ten years always in the loop with the greatest teams in the world. The relationship over there will between the coaches and fighters very strong. Very good cowboy Surani had his own situation. And kind of I believe kind of separated itself from the program started developing his own identity is own program his own team his own banner and. And what we saw on this. Last cowboy my parents ration- was was a guy came to the team saw things he conquered things. He's a part of the same. He's always legend of our team. We always represent him. But he was moving. He was moving on. He was developing his own team in the same community. And and I feel like the coaches Nathan do was best for the future of our program. That's that's support young fighters coming here with big dreams to do what they gotta do and take care of their family. Same way, we have other twelve pounds on our team that are in the UFC that I support and that I help and that could possibly challenge me for the title one day. It's part of business as part of what it is as same way that I came into the sport and fought Rashad Evans. Is it just what happened? There's a lot of details and the fight and the situation that a lot of people don't realize and they're so quick to say, oh, well, these guys are not loyal. They're they're leaving their old heads for these new guys. What have loyalty is that who would want to be on that type of team and people don't realize that when I fought which Evans he had far I think about three times outside of the Jackson's camp by the time we actually fought each other we'd enough to fight and then and Cowboys Rony situation. Coach my we'll go John coach against Cowboys running and choosing to work with Mike Perry. You know, Mike with John pays for gigantic building. Right downtown Albuquerque. I don't even know what the rent is to cover the Bill for us to have that building. He has to pay that Bill. So you can't you can't kick out young fighters for guys who. Are almost competitors. At this point. He has a huge gym right in the same community as you can't go doing that. You gotta you gotta protect the longevity in the future of the team. If you would have kicked me out of Jackson made while we're already training at Boca Raton. You would never have me on the team. That's that's provided from our team for years now. So you so you you can't just be throwing away. Young. You never know who some people are going to turn out grow up to be what they're going to bring to this program on. So I support coach John for being with my one hundred percent and everything's good with the team good. Everything's good. Welcome back. Johnny man. What a way to end the year for the USC, the semi twenty-ninth UFC, two thirty two t mobile arena. John Jones for south Guston rematch of the greatest fighting UFC history. You'll see one sixty five five years ago in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, huge pleasure. Huge honor to have you in studio. If you don't mind doing for charity here having all our in-studio guests sign this banner before they leave you mine. What's the charity? Well, we're actually I decided, okay. There's two that we're working on right now. But I think can I say this Jake is it, okay? Okay. The potential someone throw this out on Twitter. And I'd like to give the proceeds whenever we give this away. I'd like to give it to Ray boards family. Oh, you know, he's beautiful. I was gonna make a joke. Instead and tell you that I wasn't saying, oh, I'm a bad person. Ok bad people. Don't do things for Tara. No. But very I'm not gonna joke. Man. He he's he's gonna pull kit and his is his babies have been having a lot of complications and absolutely sign this. I actually reach out by recently. And I was more. I can do he's he's really great, dude. Man. He's great teammate. And I feel bad for what's happening with his baby. He's been through a lot. So we've been having all as you see there's a lot up there. Someone on Twitter said you should give it three times. And I know he has a gofundme account. Yeah. Yeah. So. Yeah. That's something about Twitter's will give you guys opportunity to go. Find his go fund me account to this. I know his babies having some serious complications. We all have kids, and you what's that? Nobody then. Cool. Thank you, John. Dan. On December twenty ninth. Thanks. I appreciate you could go where we're still live here. So you sign it. Yes. I know. Right. You don't take. We don't take breaks here. John we go out. It's my sweat pits. Man. You didn't have to say anything no known was gonna acknowledge that. I can see it. I can feel it was it hot under the lights here. John. I take interview. Was this one better? All right. Thanks, the markets are right over there below you see them there. They are Johnny bones. Jones the goat in the building returning December twenty ninth in Las Vegas, picking out the right color. I don't know if you have a goal there. John. Yeah. We need to get that for the next one. Just don't read it over DC's name over there. Oh, my what a moment December twenty ninth theory assigning our billboard. And also we have another title fight on that card. Of course, Amanda Nunez versus Chris cyborg dare I say, they're stared down more intense, and John and gusts earlier this month. I appreciate John. Thank you so much. Don't be a stranger my, man. All right there. They go the team in the house. Appreciate it guys. Thank you so much there. He goes the one and only John j-o-h-n stopping by what a pleasure what an honor to have meant studio, December twenty ninth in Las Vegas. He returns you see two thirty two. Wow. That was fun. Good to talk to Johnny bones returning last time, he fought July of two thousand and seventeen. Of course, Anaheim Daniel Cormie one that night month later got the news from California from you Sada has been out since then and he finally returns after the suspension, the fifteen months spent on December twenty ninth in Las Vegas. Okay. That was a lot of fun. Now, you know that December twenty ninth UFC's final show, you know, that PF L is actually ending the year on December thirty first let us keep the in-studio train rolling along here and say Hello to the president of the professional fighters league one Carlos Silva. How are you? Carlos welcome in-studio tough act to follow Carlos. I don't know if you know this. But John Jones was just sitting in that chair. Please have a seat he's taller than I am. Yes. He's a very tall guy. It's great to have you here Carlo. Appreciate it. If you mind up to the. Microphone over there. Don't be shy. Yeah. How do you feel that? That's a lot better. Well, thank you for coming number thirty first we ended the, you know, it's interesting that you're in-studio right after John Jones Carlos because John Jones is is is a foundational type of fighter. Right. The he's a guy that you build a promotion around urination is in its infancy. I don't even like to consider the World Series of fighting days when talking about you guys like you really had your first year. It's about to end on December thirty first when you see a guy like that, you think like if we could just get one John Jones that changes everything, right? Well, you know, I when I say John Jones walk out, and you see what kind of an athlete is first of all you realize what great athletes Emma may athletes are right because I don't think really the general public understand that. But then you look at what we're doing on December thirty first, and there's going to be six champions six grade out the all gonna get crowned. They're gonna get paid a million dollars each. And I think that foundational product piece changes a sport too. And. You know, it's funny because John sends something on social the other day. We were talking about something, and he jumped and he said, wow. This is amazing. What they're doing a really? We're back in and so yeah. And so people are noticing. I'm glad now John Jones noticing because I think I think the communities noticing so here we are. And you you wanted to come earlier, and I and I mentioned to look let's do it after the playoffs. Come and see I appreciate that. But. But I wanted to get your take, you know. Okay. So we have the finals coming up, but I want to get your take on the entire regular season, the entire playoff be honest. Are you happy with it? I'm sure not every like if I would have talked to you guys started in June, June seventh. Yeah, I talked to June six and said, okay. Everything could go your way. What are your hopes? What your ass brations here? We are November twenty six are you happy with the way the first season has played happier than I thought. Really? Well, look, you know, we came here on June seventh Madison Square Garden, we kicked off the season. Yeah. We said let's start here. And let's end here. And so that's kind of a nice story. We got a regular season. We've got seventy two fighters we've got a regular season that no one's really done fighters. Have to fight twice. They get points. What are the points all about? No one really knows what the points are all about right? I can tell you honestly era when we had our fighter meetings, and we explained all this to the fighters when they came to our media day back in February. They were processing it to you know, I'm amazed been around for twenty five years now. We were putting something new in place. So, you know, we're fighting you, and I are fighting you get a finished. You get a win points for your win. You got a couple extra points for your second round finish its new once those first fights happen here at the garden, and then in Chicago, and then in DC, you could see everybody starting to realize. Oh my God. I lost. I got zero points I want and I got a first round knockout. I got six points. I'm gonna make I'm gonna make the playoffs, and they would start you could start to see that sort of like you see in every sport in football tapping right now as we get into, you know, week ten that where we twelve that we're in now in the NFL season. You know, the teams are starting to sorta strategize you could see the fighters doing that in the regular season. Right. So I think that went probably better than we thought we had a few injuries the rules that we sat up on alternates in the way that would work all played out. We got through our second round of the regular season. It laid out, you know, bipolar wants one versus eight two versus seven and we threw them into this. March madness style playoff quarterfinals semifinals right again. We sort of had to do a reset remember telling the team regular season went better than we thought. It all worked out that none of that matters anymore right now in the playoffs. Right. Completely new situation. Fighters are going to fight twice in the same night quarterfinals two rounds. Right. They'll rest come back thirty minutes light or semi final three rounds. Although we had done some of this in our past. And there's been a lot of tournament formats, but we hadn't done it at PF L was the first time. And and I tell you it all held up couple of guys couldn't get through a couple quote lucky losers. Made it in guys, you know, hurt a hand in the quarterfinals even though Yabu boxers. And example, of that, you know, we want hurt his hand he couldn't continue. And and so both John got to you know, slot in and go through to semifinals. I think though semifinal fights where the tents they were strategic. All of these guys are trying to think about how how do I get into that finals? At Madison Square Garden and try and win a million dollars and change my life, and you could see all of those gyrations happening every fight in the cage, and we came out of these playoffs. The third night of the playoffs in Washington DC. We've got our six finalists yet and a great special of that with. And I think I think we've made it a lot of people weren't sure all of us weren't sure we laid it all out. We did our homework we sort of tried to look at every corner case and covered, and and all those things sort of played out. And now, we've got six great fights championship fights to win a million dollars and become PF L world champions. And so I think the format is held up. And I think some some some stars have emerged guys. Like Ray Cooper. I mean, you know, we've all seen right Cooper over the years and he came out in the regular season. And you know, he started had a couple of tough fights. He fought Jake shells, Jake taken down what he wrap them up. And you know, his power is speed. And you guys have emerge. Any maga- less is like I mean where? Have you know, we've seen Venny fed? He looks great these incredible moves. Yeah. He's a BJ world champion. But yeah, I didn't really know how is gonna play out. And again, I think he's focused and clear on what he wants to which is went about and win a million dollars. So I think I think the format has become a star. And now these stars are going to merge as we get to the championship night. So yeah, very happy with the way, it's gone anything. You wish you could have done differently or will you differently in the future? I agree with everything you just said, it has gone, and I will admit I too had my doubts, and I think it's really worked out better. There's a few things that I I would suggest changing, but rather hear from you. Well, look, I think I think if you look on if you look on social, and even if you talk to the fighters when we left the regular season we came to the playoffs and that fighter meeting we reminded all of our fighters at in the quarterfinals. It's only two rounds. And in two rounds? There could be a draw because there's only two rounds. So the fighter that wins the first round if there's a draw will then advance to the semi finals. Yeah. There's a lot of like arms went up, and they're like, why are you doing that? It was like, well, we looked at a lot of different ways to advance the fighter into the semi's. And that's what we came up with working with Ray working with the fighter team that was the role. Everyone knew the rule so fighters had to come out and win that first round. I think we'll look at that rule next year. I think certainly if you won the first round you're happy with the role. Right. If you fought a great second round and felt like maybe the momento the fight was going your way you probably didn't like that rule. And so I think that would be something that we would look at is. How do you? How do we deal with the, you know, the two round quarter finals you have to have two rounds as we went to the states that allowed our playoff feature of fight twice in winter. Ice. You can only fight five rounds in one night five rounds the equivalent of a championship nights, those real rhyme or reason for why it's too in the quarters and three in the semi snow pay. But we still have to make sure that in that to round fight that the best fighter advances. So I think as any league will go back and look at how it all worked out once we get through this championship. And we'll we'll make a few tweaks, you know, you look at NASCAR they tweak their playoff format of, you know, going from ten drivers to twelve to sixteen they've advanced and baseball has added another wild card over the last ten years, etc. Etc. So I think we'll look at each of those things and try to prove it. I'm happy that. That's when I was going to bring up. Yeah. So much respect. I'm just curious. And you probably looked into this way more than I have because you're dealing with the Commission's. Can you do maybe three three minute rounds? So that it's an odd number, but it equals out to twelve minutes. Or so, you know what? I mean. It's a great question. I think the reason we. Went the way we went to rounds three rounds because it fell within a rule set that the cash had approved commission say you can fight five rounds in one night. What what some commissions haven't yet told us that you can fight to separate fights in those five rounds? But now that we've done this in California. And Andy foster was great. We've done it in Washington DC. And and yeah, we went down to Louisiana, then there's a number of other states that have already approved us. And now that we've done it this year, then even more states will prove it next year. That will be a question that a commission might ask us as well as that we might allow it this way, and that could make a change, you know, in nineteen or twenty house the business, you know, Thursday night's typically you're on right selling tickets gates things of that nature. How did it go? Look, I think the stadiums were full to your point. We started June seventh. Yeah. So the PF owls, really only six months old. It's just going to be six months old. So I think like any new league new sports league we have to continue to build the awareness build it in the local markets luck. I think the good news about our format winning can sometimes be difficult. Depending on markets. And so you want to have local fighters markets. You know, we see it doesn't matter. You know, what Emma may organization is throwing a fight if they're going to Canada, they're going to New York if they're going to Seattle they're try to bring in that local flavor. We don't have that quite that advantage because the regular season plays out and the venues are set. And so I think those are things that we're going to try and dial in to help the business to get more people sell more tickets bring in those arenas. But I think the way we approached it as we've been in five thousand person arenas, and it's really a made for TV product, it's free on television. No, pay per view. And so from that sort of intimate sort of boutique feeling being in a five thousand person arena, really every seat is great. You know, we're going to be here at the Hulu theater Madison Square Garden. I know you've been there a million times, and there's you can sit anywhere in that arena. And feel like you're you're up close and personal with the fighters and really getting to see the action. So we'll continue to build that in the. Raina, but really build it on on television as well. I feel like you're format is perfect for the Vinnie. Mega issues of the world. The the the Ray Cooper's of the world the Jake shields as the world, meaning guys who either aren't stars yet or trying to maybe, you know, turn back the clock or get one last shot at glory. Have you found it difficult because I know you've talked to some free agents some notable names to convince them to go through the ringer of the regular season in the playoffs. You need some big names. Right. It'd be nice to have some big names recognizable names to attach your company towards hit your wagging on or whatever the term is. Have you found it difficult to convince them to join when when they're used to fight? Once I get a big pot of money as opposed to go through this whole process to get the big pot. I I don't think there's that many big pots of money first of all. So you know, if you take the five fighters that are sort of dipping their hands into the big pots of money. There's you know, thirty other great fighters that aren't always getting tapped into that million dollar purse. So I can tell you every single conversation always comes back to and and I could win a million dollars the other piece. That's really interesting all I have no problem fighting in tournament style playoff format. I like that. I did that when I was growing up. I, you know in wrestling or I did this in judo or even boxing. And so that hasn't been an issue at all. And I think we've already seen it now that we've come out of the playoffs point. And I think maybe like you we waited on some of those conversations because we wanted also show all of those top fighters that regular season. And and the champ and the playoffs really worked that's happened now. So we just continue to get more and more. And I tell you when the million dollar checks are. Over the heads of these fighters, and they get their belt. It's just going to continue in terms of those phone calls. There's no doubt about it. And to be clear, if I'm Sean O'Connell, for example. And I went on December thirty first I'm walking away with a million dollars. No strings attached. That's right. In addition to whatever my purses for that night. Right. Or is that? No, no. So the way the way the playoffs work. Yeah. Is is really the way the playoffs work is you really get paid when you exit the tournament exit because you lost in the quarterfinal semifinals the runner up or exit because you're the winner. Okay. So the way that the structure worked as fifty thousand if you lost in the quarterfinals one hundred thousand if you lost in the semifinals two hundred thousand if you're the runner up and a million dollars. If you're the winner, that's the same across all of the all of the way classes, but if I want in the quarters or semi like if I'm Finney Maga. Yes. You're kind of that. I get paid anything for the playoffs yet or have I not received getting your you're getting your paycheck. When you when you become. Runner up or you become the what if I get injured in training. There's there's a stipend that was paid out. So that they didn't feel like they went home. Yeah. Handed out into quarters in the semi's in one night. And then the balance will be paid on on fight night to them and equal million dollars. Equal two hundred thousand dollars. Hope it doesn't happen, obviously. But what if someone does get injured in training? What is the the backup plan for? So we have alternates across all six and the alternates are the highest ranked fighter that lost in the semifinals. Okay. They will come to Madison Square Garden on December thirty first and make wait. Oh, wow. And they will be ready to fight there and camps now. And if something happens they will then slot in not unlike what happened in the quarters in the semi's where a couple guys fell out those other fighters had to be ready. The same will be true of the championship night. If they weigh in. But don't fight. Do they still get paid? They do. Okay. They get to. Okay, they've done their hard work. They've got to come and be the alternate. And so they will get paid to calm and show up and make wait. Absolutely. Here's the the question. In that. I'm most interested in house, the TV situation going where are we going to be in two thousand nineteen? Yeah. It's a great question. I can tell you that everything that we're talking about has create a lot of buzz. Okay. You know, we've got we've had great partners in in NBC and Facebook Facebook new this year NBC's been with us for six years and excited to continue that into the championship. And I think in the next couple of weeks as we get to that championship. We'll be announcing our twenty nineteen and twenty twenty partnership. I don't happen before the champion shadow. Really? We're happy to talk more about it and share it. And I. Think I think we're very close. Can you give us any hints? I can't give you any. Are you happy? I I am how close are you happy with very how could be very happy. I think I think the PF owls cannot continue to grow. And I think both here in the US and international. You're gonna see us grow more. Okay. Are you guys gonna put on events internationally or not gonna stay in the states? We're probably in nineteen going to be here in the states. And then we'll look to twenty twenty international, but certainly were turning up our distribution in the rest of the world as well on the international front excited about that. How many events in twenty nineteen on eleven events in twenty nine thousand how many did you have this here? Ted of that's ten. What's the the one extra one? Oh, I'm sorry. I apologize. Ted Ted events in in two thousand nineteen as well. Okay. Same way classes while we're adding a female white climb twenty two the same one. To the same ones that you had this year. Correct. Okay. Are you bringing I I worry that it might be redundant? If you just bring back the same eight guys, right or more than guys, right? Seventy seventy two started the season. Yeah. But freeze way class, right? Like twelve twelve per Waclaw. Yeah. Are you just going to be the same guys? So so the way it works again sort of looking at all the different sports formats, if you made the semi finals you get to keep your tour card your seat. So have you made it to the semi finals you're in the twenty nine season, then we would go down and look at the quarterfinal s and then certainly look at the top fighters from the regular season. We'll go from twenty four fighters that'll be in based on being semi-finalists to fifty fighters sort of metal of December. And then back to our seventy two fighters by the middle of January. And then outs our roster on February first. Okay. Wow. You guys got it all planned out. You know, you gotta if you if you have a season you have a league, you gotta you gotta hit your marks. And I think it's something that the fighters. Yeah. Appreciate it. Because they understood how they had to get ready and when they had to get ready. When is the first event of twenty nineteen also first week of June. It's gonna be a little bit earlier one of the other things going back to your question of of what would you look at to fix for next year? Is we got a little tight on our season this year, and we probably coulda used another week to ten days in between fights for the fighters. And so next year we're going along gate that by two weeks. So we're going to start in may the regular season go from may to August. And that way, we'll give a little more breathing room to the fighters to be able to rest if they've got any suspensions due to some stitches or cut they got those extra, you know, ten days twelve days to rest in between their fights, which will make a difference. Still going to be on Thursdays. Still going to be on Thursdays. Yeah. I think Thursdays worked out. Well for Thursday's. Yeah. I I liked it a lot. I thought it gave us something to talk about. It was, you know, wanna watch great Thursday night. PF L action MMA. You can do that. So we're gonna continue on Thursday night. And you're almost guaranteeing. No competition. No other events happening that night. Always run into a collision with you know with a baseball or a NASCAR. But yeah, right now from the front it's usually Friday Saturdays or Sundays. So there's really no there's nothing to go up against curious considering your now, fully entrenched in all of this. Did you watch the golden boy event on Saturday? I I watched one fight of the gold. Okay. Let me guess which one. What did you make of the product? And do you think that they are serious about staying in the business, or do you think this is going to be a one off? Yeah. I I don't know. I don't know how to answer that felt a little bit. Like it was a one off. Certainly. Yeah. The main event probably just makes me feel that way. I thought. Yeah. I thought that was a good event luck. I know Chuck, well, I don't know. Tito. I don't know the build up was there that you really wanted. It didn't really feel like there was the kind of buzz that maybe everybody wanted. But yeah, it's still chocolate Alan Tita RT's, and those are two big names. And I thought that came out, and you know, I watched the press conference afterwards. And I thought chocolates, very honest. He's like luck. You know, I came out. I thought I felt good out there, and I got caught got caught. And then I got hurt and lost fight. But let forty eight years old. I thought he got in the cage thought he looked great on. Tito was clearly ready. So it was a good good fight for both of them. Did they approach you guys about being a part of this about doing the fight under your banner, we did talk? We took out Chuck is work for us in the past. And so we know them, well, we talked a little bit. But I think just the entire format really wasn't the type of thing that you know, we were looking for. We were launching, you know, this whole format with the regular season, the play-offs just didn't really fit. But yeah, we certainly wish chock and Tito. Well, it seemed like good fight. Everyone seem healthy at the end of the fight which. Alright important to any concern that there's just too much of a may on TV that there's over saturation. Not really. No, not really. I'm concerned, are you? Yes. Very why? There's too much. There's just too much baseball yet. But there's a break distance makes the heart grow fonder, come January, February I'm like, man. I haven't seen a baseball game in three or four months. I missed this. There's never a break in mate. There's a break in PF L. There is a break in. It's all right. But it's a great point. And you're right. I mean like a couple of other sports have that problem too. I mean, certainly the tennis guys would say the same. Yeah. They don't have a break. They come out of December and go into the Australian Open the same issue. So so you're right. There may be that, you know, sort of cadence every week that you do start to get a little bit numb. And we think that's why the format of regular season through a championship works because they'll be six guys that are champions. And then next year. We'll you know, we'll have a female division two champion. And then the kind of go back and regroup and figure out what they gotta do for the next season and go again, and maybe that will to your point make the heart grow fonder to come back and see maybe how someone defense because certainly defending PF L belt's gonna be interesting to get through a second regular season playoffs and championship. Speaking of females unanimously that you are going to do a one fifty five pound women's tournament next year. Of course, the fate. I think the face of the organization right now is Kayla Harrison. And that's a very good face to have she's nominal as far as fighting. On the Mike etcetera. But you've done a great job with some other guys in particular, Ray Cooper said he'd be number two. I don't know if I can name. I don't know if there are eight hundred fifty five pound females in the world right now. Why did you choose one fifty five and not one forty five where you know, very famous that you have is having trouble fielding eight fighters right now. It's a great question. And there's definitely eight one fifty five's in the is going to be eight or twelve B. We're we're still finalizing either. Or okay, we've talked about both and we're still finalizing it. There's there's definitely twelve. There's probably sixteen. Okay. Ray back in back in Vegas already. Got a nice list going. Okay. I think you know, we looked at we looked at Cala who's clearly the centerpiece of that division. No doubt about it. With her time to gold medalists and our two wins in MMA. Right. And we sort of looked at. Brill helping understand sort of weight cutting and sort of the dangers around way cutting and trying to really put a division together that the women could concentrate on fighting and not just concentrate on making weight, and so we felt like for this first year at one fifty five was the way to go. No one's been at one fifty five. Certainly if you you know, if you talked to Brittany who fought Kayla in her first fight Britney Alcan's. I mean, she tells stories about cutting her hair off at times to try and make that last third of a pound of weight because she had to cut so much weight to get there. And she's you know, she's a she's a tall woman. And and so we looked at the the white rate, and we thought one fifty five was away to go and Kayla was happy with it all the other all the other ladies that we've talked to seem happy with it. And they're gonna be able to concentrate on fighting are you guys going to be aggressive and signing some big names in this off season to try to get you know, I know. Oh you spoke to Cup Swanson. I know there was some conversations with Eddie Alvarez. Will you try to go out and get some recognizable names? Who are also depends on you know, if anyone's available, right, but that's something part of the business plan already part of the business in in process. And yeah, luckily, Kaban Kaban at ear are great examples. You know, had nice dinners with them and spend time with them. And maybe the timing wasn't right. Maybe we were still figuring out the format as we got into twenty eighteen, but I think that less kind of continues to grow and change every day, as you know, free agency kind of comes and goes, you know, sometimes we learn about it on social media. Sometimes we learn about it because someone's on a plane flying over to Singapore or someplace else, and and and you see those things, but that that is that's at the top of our less. I think you will say I mean, that's really why we left the format the way it is. We only have twenty four guys that are locked right? And so they're still forty eight plus the female that we're looking for for next year. And I think there's a lot of opportunity both with the great roster. We've got but certainly to bring in some some big names semi talking to sage north cut. I means that sage was on a plane to sing in first class. Right. Social, okay talks. Talks talks at the moment. Okay. Great. So December thirty first it's it's New Year's Eve in New York City this time, by the way, you guys are going like almost up against midnight as opposed to last time you were a little earlier in the day. Yeah. Last time we was at Saturday afternoon number thirty first back in two thousand sixteen when we were here they were four to six on that was twenty sixteen twenty that crazy two years have gone by. Seven to eleven it's a Monday night. Right. And so you're going to basically bring in the new year with with six PF L world champions. What what is it like trying to sell tickets in New York City that close to midnight and supposed to time square so far so good? Okay. The nice thing about about the Hulu theaters. You've got this the train station right there. So if you wanna get out get out of the city at eleven o'clock when the show ends, you can and certainly if you wanna walk across the street, there's no shortage of of bars restaurants that you could bring in the new year. So so far so good rapid with it. If there is one thing, what is one thing that you want people to know about PF L as you head into the finals, and as you head into twenty nineteen with so many organizations out there trying to create your own identity, and I think you guys have created your own identity, which is half the battle. Right. You don't wanna just that was always my problem with WF never felt like you had an identity. It was just like what are these fights mean your fights? All means something so kudos because I was skeptical. Right kudos. What do you want people to know about the organization? I think you summed it up great. We want to know that if you win you advance. And it doesn't matter whether you can talk more talk last bigger personality, smaller personality, what you do in the cage matters. And if you win there's nothing I can do there's nothing you can do. There's nothing Ray can do if you win you advance. And if you eventually when you become the champion, and that's what sports all about. And that is what sport it doesn't matter. If you get that final out if you make that final touchdown pass. If you get that final knockout, you become a world champion. And and I think that true sport format is really at the core of what we're trying to do with this regular season playoffs and championship. And and so far feels really good. Thanks for coming in. I appreciate it. So December thirty first who theater PF L finals? I believe it's PF L Levin, if I'm not mistaken is that the the number of the event PF L championships EFL championships there, it is six title fights, plus Kayla Harrison and. All airs on NBC. That's right that I get it. You got it. Appreciate it. Carlos. Thank you so much. There is Carlos Silva, the president of the PF L their final vent coming up on December thirty first in New York City, the famed Hulu theater, which if you don't know the Hulu theater is the Madison Square Garden theater, so that is very famous venue. They have been there before and they will be I do believe the final event of twenty eighteen the final event of two thousand eighteen if you consider I know rise in is going on. But they're having an event. I mean, they're the they'll be tech. Mytalk Reisen is twenty is what am I saying? Can someone help me out Jake? If Reisen is December thirty first Japan, technically, they'll be more of. So then I don't think there's anyone that kid actually be passed PF L right because we're in the eastern time zone. Even if someone is putting on an event in the Pacific time zone. Even there could be someone in Hawaii putting on event. But I would I would be surprised. So I'm gonna say the final event of twenty eight. All right. And if anyone wants to argue that with me or prove me wrong than please prove me wrong. But I think they are final team. I really do anyway. Okay. Wow. Back to back in studio guests that was a lot of fun. Thank you very much. Carlos silva. Good luck to them on December thirty first I will have my own announcement. But I'm not gonna make it right now. Because takes telling me to slow my roll over there, but I will have my own. And so stay tuned for that. And of course, thank you very much to Mr John Jones and his squad for stopping by. All right. Let us continue. With the program. And let's go back to Beijing. One of the big stories this past weekend in Beijing was the return Louis smoker out of the USC. This year was on a four fight losing streak was released from the company went out one three times outside of the company. Then got a fight on short notice in Beijing one hundred thirty five pounds and not only did he win. He wanted a submission. And he looked phenomenal back to his old self. Remember when he started his you have see run looked very good. I believe he started five and one had some big wins over the likes of Patty hula, Haniel call in in Dublin that that short notice main event if you will well he has back. He's with a new team. He's living in a new state. A lot has changed for the last samurai. Let us talk to him right now on the magic escape about it. All he joins us right now. Thank you very much for joining us. Louise, how are you? Congratulations on the win. It's up. How's it going? It's good to talk to you. Wow. You know? It's funny. I've had a few conversations like this today. And gone new over him. Now yourself on the same card all of you needed. Big winds all of you on losing streaks. Yours was much publicized you left the company. You've had some big wins before was that the biggest of your career considering everything that you've been through this year. That was now is a big on dollars up there. It's just like I've been through a lot like with leaving with you know, like with with drinking and stuff. And honestly if I win that probably would have been it. You know, just been like all right. You're done like, this is gonna work, you know. So they told you or you just had a feeling that you had to win in order to stick around. I was pretty sure I'd have to win like I I was fairly certain of that. Okay. And would you have gone back to the the regional scene, or did you think that your career was was on the line on Saturday? I don't know if my career was, but it I I don't know. I could've maybe went to some other companies. But it just it would've been a big process every building again and stuff, and I really have the funds for the like two early. Honestly, the time or the patience to put my family through that again like that probably would have been it. For those that remember the early portion of your UC career you left five and five, but you started five and one. And then as I said, you one of the four five losing streak what happened what went wrong like honestly, like I just I don't know at what point that it happened. But I started pretty Adrienne king and stuff, and somehow my motivation kind of changed from. It wasn't about. I'm trying to be the best martial arts. You can be trying to beat the best fighter. You can be. It was like about how much can I drink and get away and still win. How much can I get away with drinking like still make weight? Like that. Was that became my goal somehow? I don't I'm not really sure why that happened. But like, yeah. Were you were you always a big drinker? I liked it. I liked it. It was fun. It was like I dunno. I good time. But yeah, I I like drinking I like having partying. But maybe as a kid I'm a little too hyped up for that. You know, how might need to wait a little while and girl up before I can start doing that. Again. Did you feel as though the more you lost the more you drink? Yeah. Yeah. At a point. Yeah. Kind of morphed into that. It was like about like, I don't know. It's she's an excuse. Okay. Like like, let's say it's a seven day week. How many days out of the week where you drinking? I was pretty much blackout like six days a week. Wow. Blackout. Yeah. Even while you're in training camp yet. Wow. And so two weeks out. And then like that was the point where I need to stop to late. Okay. Did you ever drink the day of your fights or the day before your I never got to that point? I was never that ballsy. Okay. Did your team know that you are doing this? And I got yelled out a lot. But like I mean, those like my friends from child, and they like built my style like they can y'all all they want. But I'm like, I am I really gonna listen, you know, right? What was your wife saying did she know? Yeah. She kinda got mad at me. And eventually it was like mostly her decision. Like always done fighting like before moving up to California and stuff. Like, I was done over it. I want to do anything anymore. Just like I'm get regular job. I'm done and she didn't want that for me. She didn't want me to to kind of go out like that. I guess and so she on she she. No, I'd be happy like living like that. And I was gonna go, but she convinced me come up here like of spot to take. It was like no you're gonna go up. You're gonna stay with Jason. And we're going to try to fix you Colin city can try to help you out, you know. And so they sent me up here. And kinda just like I lived the lifestyle with them like the fighting lifestyle, and like how would go to the gym everyday like with the team like with Alex and everybody and. Would work every day. And like, yeah, I just I don't know. What's stop drinking? These weird. I kind of realized how about I messed up, and when you say that you were done. What would you have done it like like like post fighting what job would you have done? I don't know. I kinda wanted to play with computers that was about like Oscar playing counter strike a lot at the time. And I was like yeah message computers. That's easy. Okay. You're a gamer. Yeah. Maybe I could play video games. Could like I don't know Donna done like a government job or something. I don't know. Was this after you were released that you felt this way? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's kind of building to that point a little bit. Like, I was your size pretty late. I wasn't the most focused. Okay. And you went three no outside of the USC. All those all those fights were you training out of California. Where where you're with. Yeah. I won with team all ready to team on that. I did one back home. I'll I want home till I prepare to move all my stuff up here. Okay, california. Like, I'd to go home have a place after right, outback home. I had like I go get my family and move them up here with me and like that will process took like two or three months. So I decided that I needed a fight. You know, I need to stay active. So I took a fight down there back home with a with all my training partners that my teammates since stuff like aggressee techniques Hoy lead. What was it like fighting on the regional seen after being, you know, you're part of some big events in the UFC, some some big pay per views the show in Dublin, for example, did feel like a blow to your ego. How did you handle that? It was different. It was kind of weird like knock going through the fight weeks and stuff not having everything handled. Like like, Wayne's. We're gonna chill and stuff like not. Everything's bigger the production. I kinda forgot how that was. But like I mean, even when I was in like peac see that was still like a pretty big show. You know, I've done a lot of time with them and. Home. Yeah. It was just it was it was strange. I'm not gonna lie. It was kinda crazy. It was it was strange. But I mean, you know, all the promotions are great six was actually a pretty good on six was like not bad at all. They they were pretty put together even destiny back home. Like, it was it's it's different not having to be flown somewhere. You know, not having a fight given to you. But like for the most part, it was it was fun. All right. And then did you think in the back of your mind? Okay. I went to I went three I'm going to get back into you've see like what was that the goal or you're just trying to hook up with any major promotion. The goal was to win two and comeback back. I think that was like original thing that always told. So it's like. Sean or Mick or Danai camera who who who was and then I want going there like all right? We got on short notice, but it was still taking a little while. So we did a third fight kind of because I need the money and stuff, you know. So we went to see excess and yeah. It was on like getting kind of like the end of my wrote, dude. I was I would have probably went anywhere. Honestly, I always just like freaking out, you know, really run out of money pretty much. Yeah. Like I needed like I needed cash like now. Wow. So when you got the call, what was your reaction? Oh, I was so happy, dude. It was so much weight off my chest. Because the whole time you're just you're wondering if it's gonna work out if you just gonna like run out of time, you know, and always just always such a weight off my chest. Like, I kinda wanted to cry. But at the same time uh, this is late notice get your fit to get get your medical school. Like, so I didn't really have time for that. You know, there's kind of like, oh, thank you. Okay. What's the first aired on the do how many days notice was it in the end? It was like six days before we flew out, and like fourteen total or maybe last week twelve and how many more days did you have until you like really ran out of cash. I hadn't. Yes. Okay. And what would you have done if they didn't call you probably would have to go back home and just trying to figure stuff out? I don't you me as a bed overseas ING, so like we'll probably have to use that to square everything away. And then scolding jobs. Okay, man. Wow. What timing who called you? Jason your manager. Jason how. Yeah. Jason Jason told me he was like broke guess what he called Younis phone actually because I was doing something. I didn't actually I was in the bathroom or something. And I didn't have my phone. So he he he called us like four times in like in like a minute. Oh, something's happened. Like something something biggest happening right now. You may being your wife. You means your wife, right? Yeah. Yeah. My wife Yumi of so he called her and she answered and we're like talking the coma. God we did it. We're good. Thank you. Just so happens. Thank you. God. Thank you to whoever. You know? Thank you to just the universe added. Oh, what was it like being, you know, back in the fight week? And as you mentioned, there's a lot of perks to being in the UFC the way, they treat you, and you know, the kids and the transportation all that stuff just going through it again. But after being away this time, what was it like for you? It was a lot, you know, Ali so thankful to be back. Oh, it was just so happy. I was like all NAN and somehow in a way kinda late. I was like I felt like I was background supposed to be like everybody was like so nice to me supportive. So I was pretty happy. I remembered everybody in on this like the same crew from like from the evil have fight and stuff, you know, across pretty much same guys and stuff and is that international crew. And yeah, like happy to see them. Everybody's healthy, you know. And if and I felt like I never left, but like I was just so happy to be back. Beautiful submission beautiful win. You said you didn't, you know, give yourself a chance to to cry. When you got the call 'cause you had to work, but it did seem like you've got quite emotional after the win. Yeah. Like, I don't wanna be crying on camera vulgar on camera that Dana went from from like to twenty nine or whatever was no to nineteen out. No. But anyway, yeah, it was just it was just happy happy to be back. But I don't wanna be like carrying up on can't get it together. Louis, but I was just so happy like all thank God. I'm not done. You know, like, my I still have like I still have some micro left. Like, I can still kinda make this work. Now, it seems as though you're old division. One. Twenty five is. Maybe coming to an end, though, they haven't officially said that are you gonna stay at one thirty five or are you comfortable staying at one thirty five. I'll probably stay at thirty five. Honestly, I'm getting a little too big time make the weight anymore. When I did my last one five flight for Shiites f- like a couple of weeks ago. I did the cut pretty perfect out of full camp. You know, I drank my water like I was nice in light forty five like the entire time. And I got down to the last the last like one one point two pounds took around like an hour and a half. Like, I started I dried up, and I was only sweating on my wrist like it was it was bad. I mean, you could argue I've heard all the series. You can do the salt bath you can do like sauna, jacuzzi, whatever. But the fact is is that last couple pounds is getting really hard to come off. No matter how go about like I can do these little tricks, but it's getting really hard to take off. So I think I think the move up to thirty five is right. What do you make of the decision to get rid of twenty five? I don't know. It's it's a strange decision. I mean, I don't know are they actually even doing that. Or they bring in new people like, I don't really know. But it's a strange decision. I think I mean, they had some great guys there. But at the same time if the pay is better like because it's all about money now as we all talk and. Well, like, I it will see relocating them to a different market will get everyone paid more than is it almost kind of worth it. You know, what do you mean? Like putting them in a different promotion. Yeah. Like all the guys relocating to like the Asian market like 'cause that's probably like, let's probably scooping up all the twenty five Asia. It's gonna be risen earth gonna be one most likely, right? And then having the credentials of being UFC fight will allow them to get paid more there. And like like, you know, get like more respect guests, and like get on beggar sponsors, or whatever it might be will allow them to to get paid more than it might be worth it. You know? Yeah. Yeah. Well, we'll see they have come out and said it, but it does seem like the writing on the wall. Here's the biggest question though. Are you still drinking, no? Nothing. I'm not thinking since January like second. No sorry. The second week of January third. Okay. And you just won't catch. Yeah. Yeah. I I haven't drank. I mean, I don't drink anymore. Like, I give it up. I drank once when I was up here. And you mean, my fiancee, she stopped talking to me. Oh, and like she didn't talk to two weeks. And then so like us kind of freak it out. And so I told her I was like all right. I'm done drinking England, I'll drink anymore. And so she didn't talk to two weeks to see if Parrella and that while living house or do you live together right now we lived together at the time. I was staying at the team or a fighter house. She sent me up. Here originally like in January by myself to see if I could still do this, you know, give give team on trial run. And so while I was doing that. I drank once and she stopped talking to me for a little bit and select adopt point. I just got I just want quote teric. Not drink anymore. So that was the final the final in that coffin. So to speak. Yes. Okay. Wow. When you guys getting married. We don't know yet. We still dude I'm a weird business now. I know I don't know. I don't wanna cloud a wedding too. I don't. Yes, I understand that. She's got the the rain. So I mean, it's it's good for right now. You know, we can't we can't worry about that one. When I'm done man, you posted a video of your daughter on Instagram saying that he missed you and stuff that was incredible. Wow. Dow was kind of like a while is getting emotional on after the fight because I saw that on that warning when we were at breakfast, and I was like almost crying eating breakfast carrying up. You know, all but then I was thinking about kinda wanted to cry. But then I was thinking about that whole I dunno on. There's one of the top lives where the dude is crying outside. Everybody's like this is not the right head this about the right frame of mind to be and I'd be really worried right now. Okay. I don't wanna be that guy. Just over your crying on my corners like dude with go. Hang on his dad. Listen as a proud Cryer myself. There's nothing wrong with it. All right. So next time, you wanna cry just let it out although it turned out well for your tired. So maybe whatever you did was right. Yeah. I mean, just try to suppress it. Right. Like, I don't have a problem bidding, I cry sometimes. We have the stressful jobs in the world emotional this a motion roller coaster to say the least. Yes, I agree. You can cry whenever you want. I'm happy for you. Louise, congratulations on the win. Welcome back. Great moment. Great fight great performance. And and looking forward to what you're gonna do. Now at one thirty five in the UFC. Thanks for doing this. Thanks for coming on. Uber have area on. It's it's good to be on hand found like tell what happened. Yeah. I appreciate it. We'll talk to you soon. All the best you and your family. Thank you. All right. There is the last samurai Lewis smoke returning in a big way on Saturday Saturday morning in Beijing, China he opened the show, and what a great story, and I appreciate him being so honest with with everything that he's been through drinking getting released from the he started his career. In in very fine form like I said, he won five of his first six fights with impressive wins over Neil Serey, Patty whole hen Ben win. And then. Lost four in a row Brennan, marina del Ray board. Tim Elliott Mateusz Nicolaou. One three fights outside of the USC took this fight on short, notice and. Now. He's back funny at one thirty five congratulations to him. All right. Let's move along to our next guest. As I said top the show big story this weekend. Of course, golden boy MMA Tito Ortiz. Chuck, Adele, three Tito knocking out Chuck in the first round should Chuck fight. Again. Should he not should Tito fight again? Should he not should golden boy remained in the business? Should they not? I believe that. The biggest winner on Saturday wasn't golden boy wasn't teed Ortiz. Wasn't anyone involved in the main event wasn't any of the promoters? I do believe wholeheartedly that the biggest winner on Saturday night was the young man named Doron win who fought in the co main event who defeated filthy, Tom Lawlor VN and Mississippi who fought very impressively won a one-sided dominant victory. And yes, he went the distance for the first time in his career. But I thought that this was the. Biggest winner because he was fighting on the biggest stage of his career televise audience. Everyone was talking about Chuck and Tito, but you had to watch the Coleman event to get to the main event. And I thought he sees the moment he's a protege of one Daniel Cormet. He trains out of the American kickboxing academy. He's a decorated wrestler, and now he is well on his way. And in my opinion, one of the more intriguing free agents out there in the world of mixed martial arts. So let's say Hello now for the very first time on this program to Doron win who is joining us via the magic Skype, the Ron how are you? My man we had them, and then we lost them. Okay. We'll go back to I think he was in his car there. All right. We're going to get back to the Ron here in a second. But yes, very big win for drawing after that passionate intro. We'll get back here in a second. But yes, he did defeat filthy, Tom Lawlor unanimous decision. First time he's gone past the first round prior to that he had won four in a row own first round via TKO or KO had fought for bell tour Belcher one ninety nine back in may. And I've talked to DC about him in the past. I've talked to other people at K about him in the past. And they were all glowing about him going into this fight. Now that there there was a clear size advantage for Tom Lawlor going into this fight the Ron win as you may have seen is listed at five eight. I don't even know if that's accurate at this juncture. But that's what they list them as any probably shouldn't be fighting at two five maybe one eighty five probably even wants seventy you can maybe even make a case for one fifty five. That's how. That's how much smaller. He wasn't Tom Lawlor on Saturday. But it didn't matter. He looks and fights like a young DC. And he's not the youngest. You know, he's not the out there. He's twenty nine years old. But I believe started at thirty one. So he fights him. He even talks like him. If you saw the post fight interview. And I really truly believe as though we can scrutinize the main event all we want. We talk about the main event we can talk about if it should have happened or not if it was a sham or not gonna boy should remain in the world or not. But I feel he was the biggest winner because not a lot of people knew who he was knowing really. I mean, there was some nice performances earlier on, but I feel he stood out the most because he had the corner wasn't technically in his corner. I think he didn't have the proper paperwork, but you saw him there in the in the front row chairing on what nineties coming out of AK got a lot of guys supporting him. And I thought that he really sees the moment with with a win over Tom Lawlor who had not fought in two years. The last time Tom lov fought, I believe. Was UFC one ninety six which was the the ninety s kind of a one card, of course, he had his issues with you Sada. So it had been a while. And yet he had his issues. Oh, man. Okay. Jake telling me was that on the air or off the air. Oh, he's telling me that loops. Yes. Okay. Bob Ross saying can you Skype call him because he's next up apparently his phone died. What did they byu Doron win his phone that you saw there for a second? Right. His phone died just as he was about to make his debut. Well done we have you have is info or do you need it? All right. All right. Cool. Violent Bob Ross tweeted me is that is that a real thing. Let's see if I find it. He tweeted me. Oh, my dear. You know, you could've just texted me. Louise, we're text friends. You know that right? That's a classic. We've had a lot of memorable debuts on this program. We've never had someone's phone die right before. The interview started Doron win. Way to make a memorable appear debut on this show. Well done. I'm so sorry for I just got back and on the way that we just landed can't day and on the way back the person's car like we have to wonder car target wherever and it was like on my phone, bro. Wow. This would happen. It's all good. Well, I appreciate pain for hooking it up. What a good friend. Boy, congratulations Doron what a big performance. What a big opportunity for you. I said, I don't know if you heard it I feel like you're the biggest winner on Saturday, even bigger than Tito, even bigger than golden boy because you were fighting the Komen everyone was waiting for the main event, you seize the moment, there's a lot of buzz surrounding your team's Dana cornea you being approach of his, and I think you really came out with flying colors. Do you agree with all that? Yeah. Yeah. Thanks, man. I I knew it was my my it was gonna be like my coming out party. You know, this is definitely the most exposure I was ever going to get. And I knew I had like you said he's the moment row. So, you know, I I'm ready. I I can Pete at a high level for a long time wrestling. So I wasn't like like, you know, do the same as the moment. Don't at the moment. He's you. You know, I knew what I had to do that you perform that night. And you know, like trying to steal the show. So I just went out there. I trust in my. Training. I trust my camp. I trusted, you know, everybody's fourteen and stuff like that. And with with being able to do that man, it it allows me to go out there and just just let them fly. You know, you've competed in big stages in wrestling, never an MA, quite like this. What was it like few forum? Tito, Chuck delahoya, all that stuff. What was it? Like, it was a name, bro. I, you know, I didn't know like right before we are about to walk out. You know, I like made myself look at the crowd, and like before I like, Dr the cave, and they might the crowd I like cooked brash. And I think I've wrestled in find that many people, but but obviously I'd never fought. And so much different. It's so much different feeling because the worst thing that could happen. You wrestling tender something, you know. Everybody. So it was actually I love it. I love being able to do something like that. I might tire life ever since. I was a kid wrestling state final that being in the spotlight. It's like I love that. I always come. I always come to play. When when when I got the spotlight on the show. I knew I was going to be ready, bro. I I knew I knew that what what happened Saturday night was gonna happen. Honestly thought I was gonna finish him. But but he's a man. Are you mad that you didn't continue your your streak? Officiant fights in the first round. Because I do I hit him hard a couple of times in the first round two. And that's the biggest thing that I I knew I had to stay patient. And 'cause I know I had the power in my box is actually pretty decent at this point in my career. And I knew pay and type connect on him early. I thought just from NBN it's so many wars and stuff like that that maybe I put him away. But it was good for me. And especially now, we can big promotion or something like that. Now, I had experience that I went to a war with what's better in guy who's been in the cage with a lot of really good guys. You know? No. This was good for me. It was probably better that I that. I didn't put him away that I that. I had three five, you know. How tall are you there on? Honestly. Yes. Honestly, I I'm honestly like five five five five. Wow. Okay. What is apple has you listed as five eight? But I'm not buying that. No. I'm like five five eighty five six. Hughes on. Okay. What are you doing funding to five? I I I'm saying like I walked around my two hundred twenty five pounds. Wow. My tire life, and I always like wrestled at higher way. Like when I wrestled on international circuit, I wrestled ninety seven kilos and. Russia. The biggest is. Monsters throughout the world. And so I I've always been big, and I'm like real thick all throughout so. Yeah. I I just I always in big, bro. Okay. So what's the ideal way class for you? Because I can't imagine as you continue to progress in your career, you feel like if you get to the UFC or built to five probably isn't the ideal way class, right? We're going to go down. But like at this point in my career. It's so hard for. That we were when we were trying to find a fight for full card that we we were just like we'll take the fight at whatever at one eighty five to five whoever will fight me. 'cause I literally like I won't say any names for like there was some really like high high level guys turned me down. And so it just says say their names Durant don't be shy put them on blast. Protecting them. They didn't want to give you an opportunity. Why are you protecting them? I had like a couple of previous like bell tower world champions, like Emanuel news brain halls. He dies. I think brand hall. He was actually gonna sign the contract if law they're getting, but like some high level guys man, I cannot find a fight or anything. So. Yeah. Eventually I'm going to get down to one eighty five for sure hundred push it. I I'm there, and obviously, you know in an ideal world, I could go down to one seventy. But I just don't know how that's gonna work. So I figured in a lot of people think it's in my leg, but stuff like that. You know? Yeah. And I'll be dying kid going down and stuff like that. But I, you know, I've always just, you know, performed big like, so I'm very comfortable there, and you know, obviously palm a small to fiber. But you know, like DC bro for Kane. I four you know, I saw Rockwall that's far all these guys. So I. I think that the thing that helped me out a lot at one eighty five is with you know, Tom kinda showed it is. I think that a lot of eighty five won't be able to wish them my house. I think I'll put a lot of people away with that. And then to fibers and obviously in the top ten the world, you know, this big, bro. I trust. I one hundred percents. You're not playing tennis to apply and I do plan on dropping. I saw that a lot of people were kind of social media like no way to five and don't worry. We don't plan on. We just wanted to get a fight. And the funny thing is who am I to tell you that you should be moving down. 'cause 'cause the guy you train with DC has made a career at a fighting guys bigger than everyone telling him that he's too big that he should be losing weight and things are working out just fine for him. So do you continue to do your thing? I was just curious if that was in the cards for you now, you fought in may for bell, tore you seem to be the prototypical bell or fighter you train that aka you've got Bob cook their Dwayne, zinc and managing you. You're arrested. You're the you're the prototypical, Scott Coker fighter. How did they not scoop you up or did they try and you said, no, no, they didn't try, you know, I think we just signed a one fight contract. And we don't we didn't know we're gonna get you know, what I mean. And. Come in leading forward. We we just didn't know what we're gonna do yet. So and then golden boy thank came up. And we knew about this golden boy thing in summer, bro. You know, what I mean like I got like real real real early news. So we kind of knew that this was going to come into play. And then after this fight now, it really are out there and try to sign my, you know, maybe three or four five contact somebody not out of the question at all. But we just want. Sure. Which route we wanted to go yet. Okay. I think that was my size, and I suppose and stuff like that and died he showcase for any my rhythm. I take down powerful people up slam them stuff like that. I think that you know, I'll be crowd favorite. So we think that made it you'll she would be a good good a good avenue for me because because the fan base, you know, I think that I think a lot of people like how I fight and that that help make it mine for myself, but you know. You know officer on cable right now. So. Over time. I was actually just talking to about thirty minutes ago about what we're gonna do. And he's helping you right? He's helping your cutter. He's my brother. That's my boy. It's my best friend, basically Fru. We I I think caught him on the phone like ten times a day like all talk on the phone like like, I'll be going to the gym or I'll be going to like ref and practice. He's there and he will on the phone and talk get there. He's ridiculous, bro. I'm like one of the first fighters he actually manages as well. Still be out with Bob, and I feel about Bobby Wayne bathroom as well. But but he handles a lot of that stuff the me too. And you and you coach the Gilroy high school wrestling team with him as well. Right. Yes. Yeah. And the kids club. Wow. I practice in my two hours. I gotta go kids kids club tonight. And okay. So do you feel like the days of searching for a fight on the regency? And that's over with now that you've proven your point that your next fight will be for a major promotion as part of a long-term deal. Yeah. I feel it's pretty self explanatory. I think that I showed that I can compete with with virtually anybody. And I'm only going to get better grow so excited for the future. And yeah. I think that within the next week or so all all get an offer someone probably jump on it. And are you still going to compete in wrestling? Don't you have aspirin to do that next year? No, well, I wrestle. I'm I leave Wednesday for Isla. And I'm wrestling in this new they Hupa fashionable Dc. It's called the American wrestling. And I'm wrestling Friday. I'm wrestling champion. Mike my Valia on Friday night. It'd be like another fight night. You know what I mean? But if you know it it's an avenue for a wrestler like guys like time, you want the team and and walking and stuff like that guy make more money. So I'm asking. Yeah. I I'm a playing Wednesday on wrestling complete on Friday night. But but what about tournaments and things of that nature? Like, if you sign a deal with UFC can't imagine them wanting or allowing you to do that. Yeah. I probably won't grow in all honesty. I was thinking about it. This could be my last match ever a what? But as my ad. I like my career started. I just was it was so much downtime. I came from a background in painting always competing, you know, and everything was so slow because when I knew down here after trials into that. I had to start learning all these skills had a box kick out to all that stuff too so much downtime that I had I gotta get I gotta say Acas. So I would just keep jumping back into tournaments. And then there's some new way classes stuff like that. That can and you know, produce opportunities for just like just saying Friday night. Yeah. So I jumped on and I I'm actually thrilled to do it again on Friday nights. But yeah, it's definitely coming to an end. So I I kinda fishery retired after that team. But like I said, I'm just a competitor always have been. So I wanted to jump back in there. If I can't make a little extra money right now, you know. We had teed Ortiz on earlier in the show. And he said that he wants to continue goal, the boy, a may not as a fighter, but he wants to be a part of the promotion, he thinks that there's you know, there there's something there after what happened Saturday, the success of the show in his words and golden boys interested have they talked to you about wanting to keep you around. I haven't talked to anybody. Okay. In your mind. Do you think that does any chance? I mean, I think it would be dumb for not right? I think being kind of that that Trump is. Started the golden boy in a but I be that. I could be the stakes for them. Why not you know what I mean? But like, I mean shit. I I often like one time. You know? I'm not like there's a lot of people listening. But it's like, I'm not like, I'm not talking to anything. But if you didn't talk one time just one time, I talked about the pressure on. That's it. Probably didn't come to. What's up for the fight after fight nothing, bro? So it's just kinda like whatever. Like all. Right. You know, he I mean that that oppressor was embarrassing. And he didn't know what he was saying there. Yeah. No for sure, bro. I mean it did. And I'll tell you when he came up to me right before the first started, the only time, we we spoke at fall, and I can't look over at my intact. Make sure who I what man. He didn't know who I you know, what I mean. So as I I, you know, I don't know how you know other people deal with rations, and, you know, I wouldn't whatever I know. I've always been today. I know that my parents are going to speak for themselves. And so I don't need this brand knows me or nothing like that. I knew I was gonna go up before. And he was going to have to love me know. So so I'm not at all, and they took care of me, and it was an awesome week. And and I think it would agree to that. And I'm very happy with with how I. How the most part how I was treated. So. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know if they're going to pursue me or not. But I think they'd be done. Not to do you care that people like I felt when when you're on the Mike you sounded like DC, and I could see young DC when you're like, did you do you mind? Those comparisons. Are you okay? With that. I'm okay with it. I really am. I wanted to try to get away from me 'cause I wanna be my own dies. I wanna be my own. You know, my own, you know, right? I wanna I I wanna be my own guy. You know, like, of course, my my name is not going to be many. What it's going to be definitely I couldn't allow that. Anyway, get their relationship, and he would never. But no, I like it man because in reality virtually everything I know and his game right now. And I feel like if I can mimic him, you know, at least extent, I'm gonna go along a long way. So I'm okay with it. She's my voice, I love that. He and he takes care of that. He's known for his, you know, his speeches. He's he's he's a great captain. Did he say anything to you in the locker room before you guys went out to fight? Video him talking to me, right work. We walked out there. He hadn't he hadn't gone either. Stick video it was like an inch or so I'll send it to you areas. But it he talking to me, and he's like, he's I kinda like, you know, explain to me, you know, how this guy, you know, you wanna like, you know, white guy wanted, and and you just. You just, you know, pumping the pro, and it was awesome. Yeah. Like, you know, when I was on the mic and stuff, you know, it's like pot me how to have to play the game too. You know? So I know I can't just be a fighter I have to be businessman entertainer as well. So as to, you know, just not only just the way paired speed you. I what I was gonna say I need to weeks ago. What I was gonna say, you know, what I mean? Yeah. After when I got on the mic, so so it helps a lot and I would be remiss before I let you go. I don't give a shout out to violent Bob Roz, who's kind enough to give you a his phone for this interview. In fact, he he he just tweeted me somehow unless he has a computer within that he needs his phone back. But it does seem like you two very close that he's a nice a nice teammate and a wing man if you will. We're roommate really didn't know that. I didn't know remains. Okay. Cain live as well. Right outside of San Jose the guards gang. All right. Well, they're on like, I said, I thought you stole the show. My man, I thought you were the big story coming out of Saturday know that may sound crazy considering Chuck Adele fault. But you said are on Tuesday that everyone was going to be talking about you afterwards to me, you're the biggest takeaway from that event. And if I'm a promotion trying to find some young blood some guys to really build up and be foundational pieces. You're one of those names that I'm coming after. So congratulations to you. I hope you get a big deal now. And I'm looking forward to seeing your career progress from here. Thank man. It was absolutely. Show real hopefully, we can get back on you're seeing man. Absolutely. Next time. Just make sure your phone is charged right? No. Talk to you soon. Congrats again there is Iran win big win on Saturday. Not so big on Monday with his phone being not charged. But I'll good thank you very much. Louise, pres- AK violent Bob Ross for making that happen. I I feel like I always have to say aka violent Bob Ross every time I say Louis pres- because I feel people don't know that Louise presence volume Bob Ross I feel like like if I say, I'm gonna have Louis president show show be who found Bob Ross. Oh, yeah. Love that guy with the hair moving down to one forty five as crazy as that sounds considering how big is. So thank you to him for donating his phone for this interview. Golden boy may I show in the books. They have another. We shall see. Apparently, we're not gonna have Frank Muir on the show today. He got sick and is incommunicado. So maybe another time it always gets me a little rod up with someone asks to be on the show, and then doesn't show up. Does it happen often? But that's the case this time around. And I will leave it at that other things to say before we go Anderson Silva's fighting Israel at a Sonya. Wow. In February you've see to thirty four in Melbourne. What do we think about that fight? We'll talk about it on the post show a lot of different hot takes on that one. Some people of it. Some people hate it. I feel like that one was coming mile away. I feel like we all predicted that one. But it is a thing. Anderson Silva versus Israel to Sonya in Melbourne big spot for Israel, of course, midway title. Also on the line that night Robert Whittaker defending against Kelvin gasoline. Brandon VERA victorious after a long lay-off chaining his one heavyweight title Gaiger new saucy is coming back on that dual event night. January twenty six in Anaheim is UFC two thirty three. They haven't officially announced a lot of the fights for that one. But that's the one that we expect TV shoppers. Henry pseudo to be on and in LA at the forum where golden boy was they're having their own card fade Oregon's baiter, but also gear Masasi gets fell junior. How about that? And this weekend is nuts. I don't know if we've ever had to UFC cards and two Bellcore cards on the same weekend. That's insane. Tough Anneli, and I'm proud to say that I've not seen a second of Fedor. So anything good happen? Please. Don't tell me because I don't want any spoilers, but the main event is legit RDA versus Kamara who's been is the main event, that's the tough Anneli on Friday in Vegas. And then Saturday in Adelaide is a really good fight night card tight. We've us against junior does Santos love that main event. Very important fight at heavyweight Mark hunt against Justin Willis, probably Mark hunts last you have fight Tyson Pedro against shogun hooah Tony Martin against Jake Matthews. Nice card so that Saturday night Sunday morning in in Australia. So back to back rare. You'll see doesn't do it often. But they always do it around this time with tough Nellie on Friday last year fuel call. They had the tough Nellie for the female flyweights. And then you have see. See to eighteen in Detroit. This time the pay per view the following week in Toronto. But they're doing back the back bell tour also doing back to back Bill to our to ten on Friday in fact Ville and then to eleven in Italy Chidi and Giovanni against John Salter. And I gotta say as has been noted, but other people the prelims might actually be better for this card, then the main card names like Lahat Brian Moore. Chris Honeycutt jailed Harris veteran. Anthony Ruiz Sean bunch Joe Warren. Mike Shipman, Joe schilling which he MO Chee Daniel vital all those guys are putting on the prelims. This might be the best prelims in Bill to our history. And I know that sounds a little funny. But typically the Bill to our prelims are, you know, a lot of local guys regional guys couple prospects here and there it's not usually like that. And then built to eleven on a Saturday via tape delay. Unfortunately from Italy. So there's a lot going on. Plus, there's case w my colleague off and Ella Faye on Friday. There's just a lot happening this weekend. So next week will be back to talk about all that. And on the post show. We'll talk about some of the things when New York Rick and whatnot. So if you're just finishing up the show and want to listen to that if you're watching us live, they'll be up later this evening, actually, the post show is always up, by the way, like seconds after we're done on all the audio platforms. I tunes Stitcher. ESPN app is dot com. Cetera and in the videos usually up late Monday night. Stay tuned for that. If you're watching life, if you're not there's probably up already. Okay, got it. Jake. Do you think funday in the books? A memorable one having John Jones here in studio. I remember. We can reminisce a little bit about this. When you're on the post show, but the last time John Jones in studio seven years ago. I do believe was the last show that I ever did without New York. Rick. If you don't know I'm talking about I'll explain on the post show, that's a little tease for you. That's what we call it in the TV business or in the online TV business or the digital business. We'll check the Dell retire should he retire? In the end, my friends it's up to him. He has to sit down with his family. He has to decide for himself. But I could make one prediction for you. I can't predict whether or not he will ever fight again. Or if you'll retire all make this prediction, and I'm sure that they're going to be many more Chuck adele's. They're going to be many more fighters who are going to stick around too long. We're going to end their careers like that we're going to continue to play it and make us feel uncomfortable. Make us forget about the good times and make us focus on the bad times. It's just going to happen over and over again. That's the fight game. Unfortunately that is the fight game. And we just have to come to terms with there's nothing we could do we could say what we want to happen. But it's up to him and his family. That's unfortunate nature of the FIFA game. Appreciate you watching. Thanks to all of you back next week. Say title Plato say.

Well, unfortunately, the president just got up and walked down. They were talking about border security in the partial government shutdown on Twitter. The president said it was a complete waste of time. This is vice President Mike Pence. I know there's millions of Americans hundreds of thousands of federal workers that are as disappointed as we are that the Democrats are unwilling to engage in good faith negotiation. Chuck Schumer says the Democrats talked about opening the government and then negotiating with the president on border security. And I sit just why won't you do that? We'll continue to discuss we're willing to discuss anything. And he said, you if I open up the government, you won't do what I want. The president tweeted once Pelosi rejected his long-stalled border. Wally said bye bye nothing else works. The Dow finished up ninety one points. I'm Ed Donahue.
