Running Injuries: When To Keep Running and When Take a Break

"This is just a hypothetical example. I'm out for a four mile. Easy run and my left. Knee starts to talk to me or my right heel hurts or my calf suddenly seizes up I haven't stepped into a pothole or otherwise. You know run into a dog or something like that like nothing that it's like clearly like oh i that's how i hurt myself. What do i do. should. I keep running. Do i stop running like if you're in my shoes or a listeners. In my shoes christy. What do you recommend okay. So sometimes that can be the sign of actual injury. Sure but sometimes it's just information in his just your body telling you like oh. Maybe you didn't drink enough water before you ran in. Your calf is cramping dehydrated so it. It's not always necessarily an injury. So what i usually say is if you can run through it in. It's it's not sharp stabby pain like you really feel like you're doing yourself and you keep going you can keep going You can always take a break and off break and just walk it out a little bit. Sometimes that'll be enough for it. Sometimes you start In you go back to trying to round and you're like nope that is not happening. Okay then you need to stop but if it's if it's more dull nature and is just kinda there. It's not really getting worse. Not really getting better. But it's not changing. You can usually run through them. Okay and what about. If i it's dullish but i'm maybe changing my gate or i'm slowing down quite a bit to baby or something like that. If i'm aware of that which i realized might be kind of a second level consciousness but do i need to stop then. Even if i feel like i could power through it Not necessarily if. I the slowing down part to me. That's not stressful. Because again it could just be a information that you're getting that day and you may be able to go out a few days later and maybe totally fine if you feel like you're if you're limping or you're really having to adjust how you're running then you need well. I shouldn't say you need to stop. You should stop. how about that. Yeah there are plenty of people that wouldn't in done that myself. Many times are paid for it. Big time down the road. So yeah i mean if you've got to change what you're doing in terms of like you're limping or basically lumping. Because i think if you have to slow down that's not necessarily a bad thing. If you can do an easy run and finish it off then okay. Maybe you really shouldn't be doing something faster right

Should You Take a Magnesium Supplement?

"I tackle magnesium. Because i don't think that's a lot of people think about that as a supplement a lot or taking it as a supplement. I know that. I really haven't ever thought too. Much about magnesium. So why do why do we need it and i guess kind of from your perspective as wow your own personal journey of taking it You know how did that. Change your own health and wellness. Yeah course on so. Eighty percent of americans are actually deficient in magnesium. Magnesium is involved in more than six hundred reactions our body while energy creation to protein formation to gene maintenance muscle movements it regulates your nervous system. It's really kind of the he nutrient. I think that is so important. Our bodies and for me. It has given me more energy helped with my sleep. More than i could tell you Personally i'm a taipei person. "And today's episode. I have. I want to call it like a food. Experts a cook and author all the things. Abby turner is here abby. Welcome to the show. He's so much i'm set side. I'm so glad that you're here. And you guys may know her. Instagram accounts tabletop affair. Because i love everything about what you do your messaging your heart or some kind of tell everyone who's not familiar with you. Just what you love. So i am kind of really in love with the table. I think that there is a lot of great community connection. That comes when you just approach. The table and food is just that natural conduit. They kind of gets us there. And so i started a blog and started an instagram. Where it's all things easy thirty minutes or less like really inexpensive because at the end of the day. It's not about perfection. It's not about presentation. It is about the people we can get there then. Hey i'll help you. I think it's so good. I know we like know your parents have like phrases that you kind of make fun of them for and you're my dad's is always like break bread with people. Yeah break bread with you. Sit down and you have a meal with someone. There is a level of connection and intimacy. That is bigger than if you were just like texting or something. Didn't you know writing it. Slows down illeg gets us in that mindset of let's talk. Let's break the bread yet. Let's actually have community talking about right so but it's intimidating so i think some people hold back like invite people over because they feel like they're not a good cook or the table is not great and beautiful but you like lower all those boundaries. And you're break those walls down brian. It doesn't have to be full. Instagram and pinterest and everything out. There has told us that it has to be perfect. Have to be you know this. Perfect chefs food network star. Name it. and you don't have to be. You just need to be at the table and is better than to be at the table with great food. I know that's right okay. So one of the things that she do she has different tables. The male have themes which i love so he picked them for the show today. And i picked this one selfishly popcorn and i have kids. So this is this is the table that connects so kind of. Walk me through that. So the table that connects in the living. Table the cookbook..

"Invited to those pages. Were god will show me something that i want that i didn't know i wanted. We're god will show me something. He wants for me. That i didn't know he wanted for me and sometimes they're really awesome things and sometimes they're really scary things. When god told me to go to seminary i was very scared of that. And i'm loving it. It's hard but i'm loving it. Some thirty seven four says delight yourself in the lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Of course we know that god is not a gina bottle where you rub the lamp and get whatever you want but as you delight in him as you seek him as you spend time with him in silence and solitude is you pray as you shut out all the voices of instagram. Social media. Peer pressure kids screaming for blueberries at six. Am you can have a moment to shut that al and you delight in him and you seek him he can show you what you want. He will show you what you want and more than that. He'll show you what he wants for you. And as we know his plans for is are not only good. They are more than we could ever ask. Or imagine so while it's good to think about what you want and that's a great exercise and a good practice an important to get back in touch with what's even better is asking god what he wants because his plans are so much better than our plans. That's a great question. I hope this helps point you in the right direction to figure out what you want and what god wants for you all right. "What god is stirring in you if you feel anxiety or you feel at peace at a certain decision. Another thing to consider is The council of people around you so when you talk about this idea to people are they affirming. People that are trustworthy. People that are close. You people that you know if you're a believer that also believers that are in touch the spirit and god's speaking calling. Are those people in agreement again. This is not a one-size-fits-all this is not an end. All be all where someone shoots down your business idea which means it'll never work. That's not the way this works. But if you start to see a pattern of a lot of people that you trust are advising you to make this decision or advising you against this decision that can be a clue that is either confirming or leading you in a different direction for that decision. I'll give you an example again with seminary. When i started saying that out loud to people as crazy as it sounded to me and even to the people i told people that i love and trust all of them pretty quickly. Were like yeah. That sounds right. Yeah that just that just makes sense for you. Yeah i totally see that they were being nice. These are people that will shoot me straight. Tell me the truth. And tell me when. I'm going down a bad path but the confirmation was almost unanimous of people that love and trust going yes in agreement with that decision so i thinking about the feelings that rise up in you in in either of these choices and it be it can be a huge commitment like seminary or it can be. What are we going to do saturday afternoon. And some decisions are bigger and more important than others. Some have more bearing on your life than others but when you start to think about the feelings that rise up in you and you start to think about what. The agreement of people around you is. That can really help. You know if you're on the right path thinking about even something small as saturday afternoon plans when you think about a saturday afternoon i think about taking my kids to the zoo. Does that exciting or exhausting. Maybe a little bit of both if you have kids when you talk to your spouse and you say hey sorry fruit do you want to you. Take him to the studio or hang out of the house. Does your spouse say think about the feelings that rise up in you in any given decision and the people around you that you love trust and how they feel and and what they think about that decision can help you know if you're making the right choice. It's a great question. It's a hard one to be honest. And like i said when i started. It's not a perfect formula. But i do think these two things can help you know if you're on the right track. Thanks so much for sitting in your question. And i hope this helps are. Y'all thanks so much for joining me as always ends. You can tune in next week for another new episode. "One of the not talked about but major issues like the issue beneath all of so many of the other issues. We're all trying to figure out. How in the world do we follow. Jesus or even just live a healthy human life. Hey everyone and welcome to the christy wright show where faith meets personal development so you can have a bigger faith and a better life. I'm so excited because today we are talking about three things that you need in your life right now whether you realize it or not and then i got to sit down with my good friend and author of one of my favorite books ruthless elimination of hurry. John mark comber. Y'all heat is brilliant. When it comes to slowing down stopping the rushing in your life and resting so you can feel balanced but first. Let's go ahead and talk about. What are these three things that you need in your life right now. Wanna i start by highlighting something that you may do. I'm guessing you do it. Because i do it. And because everyone. I see everywhere does it. Here's a common scenario. Let's say that you are going to the doctor's office or you're going somewhere in a building that has multiple floors. Maybe your work and you get in the elevator and the elevator doors. Close what you do. It's about a half a second before you reach in your purse and you pull out your phone and you look at your phone and you just grow phone until approximately three seconds later ding. You're at your floor now. That seems innocent. It's not a terrible thing. But here's what's interesting. I think there's something else going on in the fact that we have a three second elevator ride and we feel the need to reach for our phone. Is it the addictive nature of our phone that we're used to picking it up over and over and over again. Sure that's definitely a play. But i think there's something else going on. I think that we have trained our mine to be addicted to input nonstop all day everyday. We are seeking input. We've got information we've got the tv on. Were talking to people. Even if there is one moment of silence we reach for our phone in an elevator ride. That takes three seconds. We reach for phone. We can't just sit there and stare at the elevator doors. Maybe you do this in the car at a stop light. Maybe in traffic. What's going on. Are we really that incapable of being quiet.

"The other day. My friend told me the story. And i was like what's so. He said that his mentor years and years ago said to him. Hey are you investing for your kids future and my friend at the time didn't have kids and he was like no i don't have kids in. His mentor. was like listen the earlier. You start saving for your kids and their future. The better off. they're going to be. You're going to be because he knew little something compound interest so he kept asking my friend over and over for like two or three years. Hey have you opened up an account for your kids. Hey have you account for your kids like no no. No no no and finally has been towards that okay. Listen i'll match whatever money you put in. I will match you. Because i want you to start investing for your kids future. So whether you've been in two thousand dollars i'll match it or put in two hundred. I'll match it but i wanna help you because i want you to be motivated to do this because you are going to be so. So thankful well. He finally took him up on it one day and he said okay. I'm gonna do this so with little. He was doing neck and fast forward. You guys almost two decades each of his kids when they turn eighteen. He hands the accounts over to them. And these accounts you guys had over two hundred thousand dollars in them just because he started so early and was consistent. I mean is that not insane. That is so so crazy and the great thing is they're able to use that money some use it for schools. Some of them used it for their wedding or they use it for down payment on their first home and guys that is the power not just con- insurance but the power of changing your family tree thinking so far ahead because it is crazy which is five hundred dollars. Thousand dollars can do over the course of eighteen

Healing Hormone Imbalance (Without Hormone Replacement) With Dr. Deb Matthew

"After matthew. I'm excited to have you on this day. In if you put it was a little bit of background about you are and what got you doing the work. You're doing sure thanks for having me. It's great to be here when i first graduated from medical school. I actually trained as a pediatrician. And i was perfectly happy thinking that i knew everything you know. They taught me everything. I needed a medical school in my own personal life. I didn't feel good. I was exhausted like the most important task of my day was to find a way to have a nap nan. I was irritable. I was flying off the handle at my kids. My poor is the one that bore the brunt of my wicked witch of the west impersonation. He just really honestly didn't know what to do with me. Half the time. And i knew that something was wrong like i knew that how i felt wasn't normal but nothing in my medical training helped me to really understand what was wrong with me. I wasn't depressed but yet something was wrong. And as my husband came across a book that was written by suzanne somers and it was called the sexy years and when he kind of flipped through that book he saw all kinds of things that reminded him of me and he brought the book home and my first reaction was like. You've got to be kidding me. Suzanne somers like christy snow thigh master. But i knew that we had a problem. It was affecting our marriage. It was affecting my kids. It was affecting my job at work and so i read the book and i gotta tell you that book has completely changed my entire life because when i read the stories of the women in the book who were just like me and how much better. They felt when they got their hormones back in balanced. It really allowed me to open my mind and allowed me to find that there were places that i could go to learn this whole new approach to health and wellness that i didn't even know existed and so as a result i was able to get my energy back. Mccain's got their mom back. My husband got his wife back. I got my life back. But i could not go back to what i was doing before just spending my whole day. Writing prescriptions because most of the time those prescriptions are of just putting a band aid on your symptoms. They're not really getting to the root cause of the problem and making people well.

Iconic Theaters in California to Close Over Pandemic Losses

"The pandemic has cost us a lot, but the hope that someday post vaccine we would return to our favorite places that hope has carried us through the hardest parts of these last 13 months. Well. News came this week that the iconic Arclight cinema and 58 year old Cinerama Dome in Hollywood would not be reopening post pandemic. In fact, the owners of ArcLight Cinemas and Pacific Theater said none of their locations would be reopening. Post Cove it. That's right. No more ArcLight caramel corn or movie pore size glasses of wine. Joining me to remember these theaters, particularly the iconic Hollywood location is Christy Lemire. She writes for Roger ebert dot com and Who hosts the podcast breakfast all day, and she's our regular one of our regular and most beloved film critics on Fridays. Hi, Christie. Hello, my friend. What a sad day it is. I know, And we have all spent so many glorious hours at the arc lights, especially the one in Hollywood. Talk about many, and yeah, from your perspective. So it's funny when you're a film critic, especially if you're a freelancer like so many of us are like you don't have an office, right? You watch movies at your house or you right at your house, and so going to the Arc light on a Monday night to see a big studio release, and all your fellow critics were there, and there's a buzz in the audience as people who love film You know, it's It's like going to your favorite office but also your favorite watering hole and there's such a great energy the minute you walked into that lobby with just the job. Soaring feelings and the huge marquee with all the times and the big clock, and you felt like you were walking into a cathedral of swords. And yet there's also a very intimate sense of community because you could go and have a bye deep beforehand or have a glass of wine afterward and talking about what you have just seen

Coaching academy which is a ten month law of attraction coaching certification program and she has helped over three thousand life coaches and helped countless others to unlock their power to manifest. Which i think we will probably also talk about here today. so i i'll christie. Tell us a little bit about Being an energy master first off like what what is that actually And and then what do we need to do to become. I guess what is it. Why is it important. Maybe that's yeah what is it. It's fair actually. Yeah that's a great question. I would big question when is it. Is you know you get to be the woops. Did i go out there you go. That was interesting. It shifted screens. I don't know why did that. So yeah energy mastery is really about you being the the employer of your life and therefore your creations and so we. Our consciousness is what creates our reality. We know this by universal laws by knowing that everything is vibration. Everything is energy and when we look at burley break breakdown what is our consciousness. It's what we say what. We think how we perceive or believe what we feel. And sometimes that's a big one because we don't wanna feel. We suppress our feelings. So we're still attracting from that place and then how we act and those are the things that we have influence over. We don't have influence over. What our partners are doing or how we want to change them or all the other things that are outside in what's happening in the world but we have a choice in how we respond to those things so mastering our own energy is really understanding. That you know life isn't sometimes full array moore's unicorns. Unfortunately there are things that happen right. We get sideswiped by information. We hear things in his could be shocking to the system and it's being able to feel the feelings to process them to choose the thoughts that we wanna feel really getting into a place where we are deliberately in tune and in check with our own energy because you know it very much looks like we're physical beings. We are right now. We're also energy and the way that we bring in energy is that we're energy. Receivers were always receiving an energy. We have trillions and trillions of cells at all have receptor sites on them that are needing energy and what most people do is they go out into the universe they go out to a grocery store and they get inundated by you know frequencies in energies in waves or maybe they call their mom or they call their friend. The friend is fear of something. So you're getting this energy that's coming into your system but if you're the one deliberately choosing the energy that you want to bring in now those receptor sites and the cells are filled so other people's energy bounces off because you are already filled so it's like urine energy receiver. You're an energy container right. We don't wanna to receive an energy and give it away receive an energy hold it ourselves. And then we're also energy transmitters and that's where the ways that we talked about we transmit energy by the words that we say by the thoughts that we think by the motions by the actions that we take by the perspective and all of that then by law of attraction comes back to us because if everything is waves of energy and it is quantum physics has shown it. Modern science has shown it. Einstein talked about it rate. Everything's waves and particles of energy. If we're the ones creating our reality by what we're sending out were the ones that are mastering our

"The Christy right show lost today that's right so let's talk about what to Christy right show is what's different about that than the business boutique podcast that was there before in that slot and why yeah so it's interesting you not love to teach business principles from what you're doing here no organization I do the same thing from kind of behind the curtain of business boutique but this whole movement really you know this whole change really was a response to the market you have talked about this for the last year to where I started to notice a pattern I'll be out in public or run into someone there to help me and I love the business boutique Booker I love the business pretty podcaster I came to the event I loved it and I would say will give the business given idea you're working on and it became such a pattern that people were always responding no I don't have a business no I don't want one no you just help me with my life no you just help me with my goals now you just help me build my confidence you help me do it scared you help me my relationships and so we start to see this pattern of people kind of saying Hey can I pull up a seat at this table and and and also internally we're going maybe god is calling us to this new direction to help people in more than just business so if someone wants help with building a business are turning their idea into income with a pass for that with the plans that we have books and resources but now we're just making a change to expand not not even picked it expanded to Hey we're gonna help you a lot more ways than just that so the business boutique podcast which has been focused on business is turning into the Christy right so we're going to help you build confidence in every area of your life including business but in more ways than just that so it turns out the skills that we use the interpersonal skills and the personal skills that we used to deal with the person in the mirror for business also work for life it's interesting because yes we've I've been putting everything to the business filter but these principles about goal setting or personal responsibility or challenge balance time management all of these things apply to every area of our lives right right and what I've noticed and we talk a lot about this internally but people try to change their life often from the outside sometimes I don't have enough time to have enough money I'll have enough you know to fix my my mother in law gonna fix my husband I'm gonna fix my kids and we're we're working on the external areas of our life and we don't really see lasting change and so what I love helping helping people do is work on their life from the inside out to really control the only thing they can control like we've been talking this whole pandemic which is themselves and so giving them a path to work on themselves which then affects their relationships and their resources like time and money so it's been a really amazing process to work with our team on building this and then today was the first episode so it's on YouTube or wherever you listen to podcasts I'm really excited excited to see what that's going to do through this you know for general life change that applies for money it applies where for years of said you know that is not the problem it's a symptom in so your shortness of time your sense of being out of balance your lack of motivation or not a problem it's not the head not just the behavior is always saying that they're the symptom and or something else is driving that that if you go down inside and fix that right and so your whole process is an inside out process known outside in process yeah examine the census what can Coleman doesn't careers it's what you know what I do and and and all of the Ramsey money personalities do owe money were saying Hey the person in your mirror you know content what might be the most powerful financial principle ever as an example right out of the thing and that's what you're doing but just in in life in general and you know it's it's smart to observe how people are using the tools and the information that you're giving them and that's what we've done here at Ramsey with your brand yeah including you obviously but I mean it's like you know we went to I'll never forget the first time someone said we are standing outside of financial peace university class I was teaching it with an overhead projector and they said you know financial features to save my marriage I'm like what don't want to a marriage classes six classes down the hall yeah now what I can about they were not the first time in twelve years of our marriage of actually had a good solid conversation while and it it revolved around money we use money as the starter but it's caused us to really in the last you know thirteen weeks to change our whole relationship and I kept and after I heard that like twenty times I started to hear it right charge okay you know this is a marriage thing yeah the stuff is impacting our marriages and I need to talk about marriage while we're talking about money we can't separate the two and that's exactly what's occurred here we just kept listening to how are the folks who are interacting with you and what they were what their take aways were with the tools and the motivation to change their life and it turns out business boutique was just a part of it yeah and it's interesting too because at the same time that we're seeing that trend in the market place I'm experiencing god's kind of prompting in leading that way too in the things that I'm doing some you remember I spoke it propel women the events all through the fall of two thousand seventeen with all these amazing Bible teachers internally I've had the opportunity to do a devotional every single year as I have this opportunity to speak on things that were non business it was like something in me lit up something in me came alive to speak about this and I thought okay god I see you wearing and how about more.

"Can Christy and I help you today hundreds of cargo you know why because they have already taken steps about the past year and a half and kind of debt let's go thanks you rock not as much all right now because we have not you can search your hearts you find what you suggest my question is pretty much how to best use my time during this time hello I just started yesterday on a given nine years so I pretty much like I have two options are they give five point option but then I also know that there's a couple grocery stores in the area you know hide anything usual acted up to get some hours in there and that sort of conflict like hot I'm I guess I'm asking how to navigate back to them you know and I have a good evening Michael it's now are you contemplating a really sort of like it just started a new career four months ago this happened so not sure if you know there's a way which one is better in terms of like financially speaking though if there's a way that we can follow her not really sure you know what you would recommend it which which well my understanding is if you make a certain amount of money you know longer qualify for unemployment because you've gotten re employed as was feared so if I if I understand it correctly I and you can check on that mathematically what you could do was simply go okay unemployment page this our paychecks can I make more doing something other than unemployment and the answer would usually be yes and so spiritually emotionally physically I'd rather be working I even if I've made about the same money I'd rather be working it's not just the stigma of it it's just activity is good for you that Christy yeah it's amazing too it's not just that it creates this momentum in this season even though the season is not what any of us would have chosen you're you're being active you're making things happen you're controlling what you can and you're creating momentum that I think will carry you into the next season even if you're not gonna be doing next season what you are going to do to get through this one and and it one thing I would encourage you is that you you have more options than to Dakota so I would just look at that like I never feel good when I feel painted into a corner or have one of two options I don't really like I try to create like twenty five or thirty options and then whatever I choose I'm more confident in that choice because I've compared it to a lot of things so I would just encourage you to make a list of all the different ways that you can make money doing this time maybe you work part time and you have a side gig part time and maybe you you know I I don't know what that looks like for you but you've got more options than to I would just I would start by brainstorming a lot of options and then choose the best from there yeah all the grocery stores are hiring all the targets in Amazon's and pizza deliveries are all hiring hundreds of thousands of people right this moment and so you've got a lot of options of that kind of thing what do you do for a living what's your career good for local hired on with enterprise rent a car I thought the trades of entry level positions in concert with a bladder itself that's one to kind of get hello hi this time okay I'm just thinking do you have some kind of skill set where you create a unique side us all the Christians talking about and you can ask yourself that question because that'll usually pay more than target well pay or Amazon delivery will pay I mean you can make that that whatever it is for seventeen dollars fifteen dollars an hour whatever it is right now and you can get more than that if you work a lot over time and just you know you just crank it out that's there's nothing wrong with that no shame in that and I actually personally per you know when Sherman I went broke I did all kinds of stuff while I was rebuilding my real estate business at the time I mean I made money from fourteen different things like you said because I would just rather be doing something than the activity stimulates your creativity instance imagine a future opportunities and it changes your mindset and sometimes is more than a little bit humbling I remember one guy was an executive who's trying to get out of debt and you're delivering pizzas at night and he delivered a pizza to someone that they just tired of his company they were going to report to him yeah that's humbling that that is that is but what's interesting to us I love this idea of maybe you start something because the one thing I would say to go to if you've never thought of starting your own side business or small business what I'm recommending right now Dave in this business landscape is you're looking at business differently you're not thinking of what is my dream business I want to do what I love this is a long game play no we're talking how can I make money fast you don't love it you're just trying to turn a profit quickly so what services can you provide what knowledge can you monetize I'm not even telling people don't do any more about getting the product based businesses with cost of goods in inventory all right now today with your idea a Facebook page with what you know what you can do in other people that still need landscaping there people that still need to leverage their people that still need but people are still buying some things that you can start a business that meets a felt need right now today and you're like Dave saying probably gonna make more than you would that may be working for grocery store certainly unemployment so you've got an accident and you can do all of it that's right what you're saying so yeah you can do the card the one two punch of the combination of all of it so the good news is Dakota I will I know Christine knows from having done this a long time that just the fact that you're asking the question means you're gonna be okay that's right you're not paralyzed on the corner sucking your thumb you're not saying this is destroyed my life I'm a victim of circumstances you're saying oh crap I got furloughed that sucks okay we're gonna do next next up you know yep and the next man up next man up you know and just ahead and you step in and you know you go ahead and you do that kind of thing Hey good question all right Matt is with this match in Texas hi Matt welcome that I ran to show thanks Dave Christina oriel great how can we help I have a question I think it's more towards Christy Sir why should a photographer she went through business boutique a few years ago and she's been having growth in her business she's pregnant with our second child due in June thank you I I kind of have a question just how do I help her business get back on track after she in person you know of course and that's just gonna be working within our own family but any specific tips about how to push her back out into offer Tiger C. first of all calling we were just talking about the fact that you're asking a question shows that you're naturally a supportive husband so well done the the hazards that may struggle that probably aren't asking that question of how to be more supportive so you probably already you're doing better than you even think but I'll ask a more practical question in terms of her business and her plans or timelines or expectations has she talked at all about what type of maternity leave she wants or what she wants the business to look like immediately after having a baby maybe even immediately before she wants to stay home and nest and not really worry about clients like have have you all talked about that at all we have intact chilled she taking that starting maternity actually in may with with all the coronavirus started real early but but she scheduled out her maternity to I think it'll in August is when she scheduled her next appointment at her next sessions okay well then I think I think having a time line is great it's great as a guideline and I think that you know you supporting her whether that means with childcare house responsibilities whatever so that she can physically go take those pictures you know in a practical way but I would also say one of the most important things you can do is give her permission to change your mind map because I've never had two kids eat you don't know what that's like adjusting from one to two I personally found it very difficult to adjust from one to two and it may just be harder or different and in a lot of times we hold ourselves to same plans we made before things changed and just give her permission to adjust her timelines are her plans based on what you guys decide as a family what she decides as as a mom of two that is her priority and how she wants to spend that season that season's gonna look different than this season so you know you're the fact that you're asking just shows that your support it but I would just say one of the most important things you can do is is help her assess as things progress what's right in that moment and it's okay if that changes I think you can plan on that changing what you can not plan on changing because it won't change is her love of photography and I love doing this business I doubt she's going to set the camera.

"Hey everyone and welcome to business boutique and Merry Christmas. I'm Christy Ryan today. I just have a little bit of Christmas encouragement for you to enjoy this holiday. Now I gotTa tell you guys. This is my favorite time of the year. I love everything thing about the entire Christmas season. Of course I loved that it reminds us of the hope that we have because of the birth of Jesus but I also love all all of the traditions and Special Times that you get to have during the Christmas season. I love to drink hot chocolate with my boys in front of the fireplace. I loved to go look at Christmas lights. I love to sing carols. We even bring Santa to our house once a year for all of our friends all their kids to come and have cookies with Santa and read stories and get to hang out with him and take pictures. y'All this season is chest magical. I feel it brings out the kid in all of us now. There's one one tradition in particular that I love about this season. I'll tell you this is specific to my family but I want to spend a few moments sharing it with you because it's something that I think that you'll love as well. Oh my mom actually encouraged me to do this a million years ago before I was married before kids before life got so busy because I started then I've maintained it now. Well my mom told me that years ago even before she had me. She had her own tradition at Christmas that every year she would sit down and write a letter now. This letter was just for her. She didn't mail it's anyone she didn't write it to anyone. The whole purpose of this letter was really just to recap the year. My mom wasn't a big journalist. An alert she didn't spend a Lotta time constantly reflecting on her life but once a year she would sit down and write about that year so right around Christmas time when she's packing up her ornaments. It's after the season was over. She would write about all the major things that had happened that year. The highs the lows and everything in between she would then fold but that letter pack it up with her ornaments and put it away in the attic not to be seen again until the next year and then the next year when when she would open up all her Christmas decorations out of the addict to decorate for the oncoming season. She would open up that letter and read it for the first time she said it it was amazing to see how much had transpired in just a single year. Well I love this idea so much that I started in two thousand six now. I'll tell you it wasn't very sophisticated. I just sat down with a couple of pieces of printer paper and started writing down all of my thoughts most of rambled but there was some highlights. There were some things that it's it's really funny to go back and read in see where my mind and my heart was at the time for example when I look at my letter from two thousand six that is on these scratchy pieces burner paper. There's a line in there that says dear God please let me go on at least one date next year. Bless my heart. Apparently that was a tough year in the love department. But you know what's amazing is year after year as I've written newsletters and then faithfully put them away and open them the next year. I'm always blown away at not. Only how much can happen in one single year of your life but also just how faithful God is year after per year. A start every letter by talking about what happened that year and I end every letter by talking about my prayers and dreams and hopes for the next year and we all. This is like a storybook of my life every single year when I read the letter from the year before and living in this affiliate of God's promises I I prayed and forgot about of course the year before I remember in December of two thousand fourteen sitting on my couch reading. My Christmas fled from the year before. And as I read my hand written words on the page praying that Matt could start a family and I'm holding that letter her over a giant belly with my son Carter. Who was do the very next month now? Of course every year isn't like this. I remember in in two thousand seventeen reading my letter from two thousand sixteen and those words on the page were prayers. That Matt's grandfather would be doing better that his grandmother would be doing better in that Jackson. Our dog of eleven and a half years would be doing better and all three of those loved ones passed away in that year tear streamed. That was hard. Would I will tell you. In the last ten years of my life reading the letter from two thousand sixteen was the hardest letter I've ever read. It was a mixture of emotions but even in the despair even the grief even the disappointment. Even when it seemed like God didn't fulfil that promise or answer that prayer you still see God's it's faithfulness because the way that every single one of those things occurred and of course we have the hope in heaven in the hope in eternity in Jesus but in addition that even then how all of those things happened he just see God's faithfulness you see God's provision uc that God carried us through and you felt his peace through all all of it so even though it was hard to read it was still one of those moments where you're getting to experience God. You're not experiencing him on the mountaintop. But you know what he's with with you in the valley as well and that was a good reminder of that be you know. It's amazing is year after year. We have this log this journey of not not only what we've been through the things. We WanNa remember the hard times the good times crazy times. But we have this journey of God's faithfulness now writing letters looks a little different this year because now Matt Rights with me reluctantly I would like to point out. Okay I have injected this tradition into our marriage as I brought it from being a single single person and now we do it as a family. But here's how we do it every single Christmas. I'll sit down and now we have a notebook and I'll write my Christmas letter for the year and then give the notebooks of Matt and Matt writes his Christmas letter for the year. We write them separately. We don't read them so then the next year we sit down and I read my letter allowed to Matt. Matt reads his letter allowed to me. These are both letters that we have not seen or heard since the year before since we didn't read them before we pack them up now would like like to point out that my letters are typically around ten pages. Mats are usually around ten words. Let me just read you. A little excerpt from Matt rights letter from two thousand seventeen seventeen. Here's how it starts as I sit down to write this. Christie is reciting all of the rules regarding the Christmas letter they are numerous and overbearing. Tell me we all. This man is a mess. There was another year that he wrote giant block. Letters on one page said Christie says the letters need to be more than one page. So here's my second page so at least you know. My husband has a sense of humor. But you know what y'all what so amazing is. This is something that shows us how God carries us through. He carries us through the good times and the bad times and he has dreams for us. He has promises for us. That are truly just just like the Bible says more than we could ever ask or imagine and you know it's amazing to to read at the end of the year. How much can change him? When you're not just how much can change in your life? But how much can change in your mind. Let me give you an example. In two thousand seventeen I wrote in all caps with three exclamation nation. Points done with kids. Okay apps you could tell that has been a hard year in mom's life of adjusting from one to two children during that were eighteen months apart while also launching a book. I really thought in those first few months and that first year of having two kids that was done done all caps three exclamation points done and now I'm sitting here with three kids and could not feel more blessed. I can show you that you want things. You didn't know you wanted that. You're dreaming of things. You didn't know you dreamed I'd always wanted a big family growing up and only child. I always thought I I want three or four or five kids then I started having kids and realize that they are heart and exhausting and expensive. But what's funny.

"Even make you uncomfortable as they enter your mind, you go. Oh, no, no, no. And you push them out because I've been there haven't you like you have an idea and God brings something board you own this too. Big Ono does too impressive. That's too exciting. That's too ambitious. That's to fill in the blank, don't, you know, the source of your dreams to begin with friends. God draws out your desires because he wants you to trust him with them. Even if you look at scripture again, and again, and again, Jesus would say to people what do you want me to do for you a blind man comes up to Jesus. And he says what do you want me to do for? You. Don't think he knew in can't see Jesus knew what he wanted. But he wanted him to own it. He wanted him to own that desire to speak that desire to draw out that desire. And say I want to be able to see and when he owned that dream when he owned that desire. That was the moment that Jesus healed him. He wanted him to trust him with his dreams with his desires and friends so often we play small, and we straight back and wages come up with really small dreams and really achievable goals. Why because we think we're protecting ourself against disappointment. I'm done that haven't you? I remember in high school. I would have a goal for test grade. And I think I really just need to make a B. I didn't wanna make a B. I wanted to get an a plus about was I just get a be I'll be fine or try out for the play. And I think we'll just get like a supporting role that'd be fun. I wanted to be the lead role. We have those real desires in us. We have the desire for a plus for the lead role for the big business dream. But so often we downplay him, and we push him aside. And we pushed him to the back corner of our mind because we think I don't know it's too ambitious or. We're being selfish or we want to protect ourselves from disappointment. But here's the thing. If you don't imagine it if you don't dream it if you don't own it. You're never going to lean into it. And got his asking you what do you want me to do for you? What do you want me to do for you this year, not the small dream the thing you could do on your own? I'm not interested in that. Of course, you could do that. I know you do that you could do that without me. That's why I want you to dream something bigger because you're going to need me. That's what God's asking you to my encouragement for you.

"They helped right? And it's okay for you to get that fair nickel. Not the unfair charge charging what you work, but there's value in that. And I think when we start to see it and realize what we can do. I don't think there's a limit that can be put on us when you change your thinking, you can change your life. And I want people to think differently about building wealth. I want these women to think differently about their business to know. Hey, you may not be where you want to be yet. But you're in process and every day, I want you to take one step forward. These women in many ways how can have an advantage because there isn't a limit on what they can make. They don't have this. You know? Kind of cap of what standard in the industry for that particular job, or physicians? Let's talk about how they can use their businesses to build this wealth. Specifically like, no you hit the nail on the head when you're so employed. Nobody's telling you, you're only making X, right? You get to decide with your effort and your actions every day. How much you're not gonna make how to lady out of Arizona who was behind saving for retirement himself, employed and talk with her and I said, hey in your pipeline. How about we add a couple of deals per month? And we're going to call that your retirement dream. And so she just kind of looked at me. I said, no, let's do that every month. And let's see how much she did that she ended up saving an extra twenty four thousand dollars a year for retirement. She goes, Chris. I'd never had anybody. Give me that perspective. Right. Because I'm aware that we can put limits on ourselves. And you have to be careful of that. Here's what I want people to do if you've had a great month or a great year in your business. Go get that K one go get that income tax statement. And I'm wanted. To take snapshot of it. Because what that shows you is that you can do it. If you had a great month where you made five six grand takeoff. Snapshot of that. And I want you to look at that and want you to tell yourself when are you going to do this again? That's right. And when are you going to go higher, and those little motivations keep us plugged in that we have a story we've told many times their business boutique of amber Johns, and she came to the first business week event HOGAN, which is two thousand fifteen and she was on the verge of just giving up on any dream entirely. She made like twelve hundred dollars that whole year. It was just a side business. And she was like, I'm not sure so she gets really serious about that. Next year goes out on her own and starts this whole new thing. Rebrand is now a multimillion dollar business and that was just a few years ago. And you look at her and she's like totally broken that mold and broken that limit to your point. She's looking at the proof going, I'm running a multimillion dollar business. And she was this close to Scott's, right? That's right..

"And I'm watching the time, and let's say I run five miles, and I come back, and I look at the time the time is fast faster that I'm used to. Sometimes I've had a good run HOGAN where it's so good. And the time for me for my pace is so much lower than what I'm used to. I will go back and track it with my car to make sure the mileage was right because I didn't believe I was that fast. I could've run seven thirty mile. It must be the watch is broken. Because I can't be that. That's I think we have this idea about money. We see our income report for a certain month or a certain you're like, oh that must be wrong. Maybe the tax accounting got it wrong because I'm not the type of person that earns six figures or seven figures, and we have this idea about who we are the way that I describe it HOGAN is we place labels in limitations on ourselves. And then we live within them. And if you put a label on yourself, and you don't believe you can become a millionaire. What you believe? You won't try. I'll tell you this Kristie. You're absolutely right. And the thing that I found that we've got to be careful of is that nobody wants someone else to put limitations on right? We never liked that. And I tell people all the time. I tweet stuff, you know, me I tweet except compliments from everybody, but don't accept limitations from nobody. And I mean that when I say it, but the most deadly limitation is that internal when we put on our selves because nobody knows you've put it on yourself. Right. And so I think we've got to be careful that voice in the back of our heads got to be careful what we tell ourselves, right? Because the problem is some of us if we tell ourselves too, many negatives, you can be defeated before you ever get to the starting line. So we need to change our thinking. And that's that's what started the book the media reports. Still you the American dreams not here. The one percent this, you know. And I kept hearing this. I'm going that's not the truth. The reality is you've got hardworking people that are consistently investing time after time and they're able to build a net worth over time. Let's talk about what you mean by net worth millions simple term. We're not talking about celebrities. We're talking about an average Joe, but what defines a millions so first and foremost, a network millionaire. Does not mean you make a million dollars a year? Okay. Okay. Now, let's see we're shutting down. That's not the truth. Here's the reality. Take what you own minus. What you? Oh. Okay. So what you own that could be your investments, your house left the mortgage all of these things that you own your less. What you owe that gives you your net worth. And so I've got a network calculator on new tool, you know, me and tools got to get people to go to Chris HOGAN, three sixty dot com network slash network calculator,.

"Hi, everyone and welcome to business boutique, I'm Christine Ryan today. We are talking about how to become a millionaire. How about that? Right. This episode is brought to you by infusion soft and Volusia later on in the show, I'll be interviewing national bestselling author and host of the Chris HOGAN show. My very good friend. Chris HOGAN, we're gonna be talking about how to build wealth and well become a millionaire, and Chris, and I will be taking some of your questions together. But first, let's talk about how to become a millionaire. I mean who doesn't want to know that right now I had to start by giving you a little disclaimer, I'm gonna give you some examples in this show. And in this episode that may be sensitive to young ears. So if your child's in the car, you may want to turn this off. Now, am I gonna cuss and be rude? No, I would never, however, I'm gonna use some examples that may share some things you don't want them to hear. So go ahead and turn this off. If you've got your little ones by your side. Now, remember when you were little and you just believed y'all we just came out of the Christmas season. And my boys are two and three and a half. And they are so much fun. Like, the magic of Christmas and Santa and flying reindeer and the elf on the shelf, which are elves name is Bob, by the way. That's the only phrase Carter could say when we got this when he was little Bob would fly around the house every night and Bob ended up in the cinnamon toast crunch box and ended up getting an all kinds of mischief and the wonder on my child's face and the light in glow in his eyes as he just soaked. It all in as he really believed all of these things were possible. And I just loved that. Because when we're children, we really do believe don't we we believe in Santa and flying reindeer, and we believe in the elf on the shelf, and we believe in the tooth fairy or the Easter bunny, and I just remember. When I was young that anything was possible. It wasn't just Santa Claus. It was like anything was possible. You know, when I was in fourth grade, we were graduating elementary school going into middle school, and before we graduated the teacher asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up, and they actually printed this in the yearbook for that year. And I remember so many of my classmates wanted to be in BA players or NFL players. If you go back, by the way, and look at that yearbook from grand berry elementary next to crystal Lynn Brown, which is my given name fun fact for you guys. It said I wanted to work on a ranch at high emissions. Yeah. Anyway, besides that. We just believed we believed we could be anything. We wanted to be. We believed we could be rich and famous. We believed we could be millionaires, and they were truly kids that printed in the yearbook that they wanted to be a millionaire whenever they grew up. Now as a child we really. He did believe that anything was possible. But something happened. Something happened in our growing up in our maturing in are becoming more reasonable and level headed and practical we stopped believing. Now, we, of course, stopped believing in things that aren't possible like Santa Claus. And unless I don't know maybe he is. But we also stopped believing in things that are when we stopped believing in things that aren't possible we also stopped believing in things that actually are possible. Like living your dream or making a lot of money or becoming really really successful at some point in your journey. You gave up on that. And you thought oh, well, I'm going to settle I'm going to be more practical what I'm gonna drink too big because I don't wanna be disappointed. I don't wanna be down, and that's not realistic at oh, that's actually selfish. So I'm just going to play small. But if you don't believe something as possible from living your dream to being. Successful to making a lot of money will you'll never try. If you don't believe something is possible. You're never gonna try now I'm used this example before because it's really true. I never buy lottery tickets ever why it's not because I'm so holy. And I'm like all on against that like moral..

"Hey, everyone and welcome to business boutique, I'm Christy Wright and today on this special bonus episode we are talking about getting out of debt later on in the show. We are going to be hearing from Dave Ramsey himself as he teaches us about this topic. But I I want to give you a little bit of my personal back story around this now growing up like many of you probably I never learned about money. We weren't rich by any stretch of the imagination. But I didn't know it because I was never told. No now in my mom's defense, she did an amazing job after all she was a single mom. She was an entrepreneur, she's running a small business. She's got fifteen team members. She's in the middle of downtown national. She got so many things right, but mom didn't learn about money growing up. So of course, she didn't teach me about money growing up either. What this lead to was that I graduated college. And I had no idea how to manage. Money. I got credit cards like most people do in college. And right after college I got personal lines of credit after college. I had medical bills that were building up a little at a time. I continue to live outside my means and rack up debt that there was no way I was going to be able to catch up with on my entry level salary. I remember the frustration that would build over those years. I remember when I was twenty three and twenty four and twenty five I remember the frustration of getting paid on Friday, and I wasn't paid a lot anyway. But every holler of that money was going backwards to debt payments. I remember being at a restaurant.
