Foo, but the fact that life is unfolding in front of us right now and that you can't miss taking opportunities in the really trust your gut. You have to trust your gut, too many times I've coached people. You Know Ultra successful business people who get in their mind too much again in the fact of what they want and what they were. They think they need in the purpose of their existence to do certain things where when you trust your gut, and you get in those situations, and you see that life is unfolding for you in happening for you. Take those risk. Take those. Those chances have those conversations because those just might be the most enlightening and empowering situations that you can get yourself into because I've noticed in my own personal experience and the people I coach, when something shows up for them, and they let it happen, and they follow what it is. It turns out to be one of the greatest things that happens for him, and oftentimes it winds up changing the trajectory of what it is that they're doing, but honestly they become completely happy with that new directions. Encourage everybody just really trust got to go after those things and just make sure that understand that everything's happening for you and not to you. What's a strategy that you'd recommend? That would help any entrepreneur listening today become more profitable. You'RE GONNA. Laugh at you, said the word listening. It's amazing to me JV how many people here versus lesson or they do selective hearing the only hear certain aspects of words. They only hear things from their perspective. I challenge people all the time to really listen you know doing these interviews and doing shows like this. You have to really listen to what the person's ASCII for. You have to really pay attention and. And today's society with our brain stick our brain attention span. What does it used to be eight seconds? It's like three seconds. Really devote what it is that you're doing to listening to somebody to paraphrasing back to them what you understand build that solid connection and you will actually you'll see you the empowerment your life, the happiness in your life, the frustrations in your life down significantly just by listening versus hearing. At conscious million or we have a formula creating wealth in its conscious focused action. However, wealth isn't just money. It's relationships. It's health. It's making a difference in other people's lives. What's a focused action something? You consciously choose to do on a regular basis that allows you to make a bigger contribution with your life. Yes, I call them needle movers every single day the night before I go I go to bed I. sit down at my desk. My studio and I write down three needle movers and those needle movers are things that are actually going to move the needle on what it is them ultimately trying to get to for me. It's a legacy on building for me. It's serving people and changing their attitudes and getting them out of the victim. Mind set so every single day in red on my notepad I write. Write down three needle movers. They're going to push me to that extent. That are GONNA get me out of my comfort zone and caused me to grow myself and take risks and to try to live, so having those needle movers is significant because most people put task down that. They think they have to do when you really sit there and you say I gotTa move the needle on these three things like what's your one thing that is magnificent and getting you closer to your succeeding with your goals. You know you have a great show the raw unscripted show. I'm curious. What is a book that you could recommend for entrepreneurs? Wow honestly, it's a book that I have right behind me. It's called the big leap by Gay Hendricks. It's a fantastic book talking about how the different zones we have, and mostly a lot of people operate in the zone of excellence, and I believe that you need to operate in your zone of genius. That's what I help people do is I help people go from something. They're really good at that. Maybe they do. They've had a fulltime career and they make good money out it, but they're not fulfilled. They're not doing what it is that they really want to be remembered for the legacy. The thing that gets excited for every. Every time they get up in the morning. So when you read that book, it is so inspiring to realize that you have to take that job. You have to like Steve. Harvey says this video. If you guys want to watch it on Youtube, it's like you just jump. It's like a minute and fifty seconds, but he talks about it so magnificently, and so succinctly that when you do that, and you get in your zone of genius, you get in that flow. You get excited you get your get enthusiastic about what it is a jerk wanting to do. I left a twenty six year career job over one hundred grand a year. Benefits, you know six weeks vacation all that stuff and I said I have to jump because this is my legacy, my legacy is not to be a company and working sixteen hours and driving three hours in shopping. My legacy is that I'm going to impact the world. Lead the way place a better place for who? I wasn't what I did so yeah, definitely not as exciting everybody should read it. What's the best way for people to reach out to you Christopher? Symbol, Christopher, Christopher dot com semi an email. You can also find me on facebook. "With more and more communities considering installing electric car charging stations can you tell us about the grant program being offered by the state of New Mexico yeah great opportunity just got released about opened up about a week and a half ago it's really exciting as part of the B. W. application form basically you it's it's a allotment of money that B. W. try to cheat in on some of their emissions testing each state got a certain amount of money did you can you know pot how many feet up cars will trying harder actually sold in that stage so in and they could take a percentage of that which was called the appendix B. and allocate that directly to let your vehicle in production so the state of New Mexico has two point seven billion dollars that just opened up the application is currently live right now you can you have up until January fifteenth to submit your application the verticals that it focuses on is multi family dwelling for fleet applications are purists how it having to sort sort of simply pull whether your city your how your state trying to watch fire fleet could be fast card into quarter charging so it really got kind of cascade almost all verticals if you are property manager or property owner I would highly recommend going to stay in the Mexican website type in the D. W. funds and the application is on there I'm Bonnie also my information contact directly charge we can help navigate an application for you but it's really good money for you you get twenty five thousand dollars her level two charging station which is a lot to be completely transparent that covers the infrastructure costs in the hardware and software so if you're looking at the point level two charging on your property you can probably get close to not paying anything out of pocket to be able to get some stations deployed if you get at your application gets accepted yeah that's really fantastic and I know that will be working on that very soon for this association that I have that is going to be putting the stations and hopefully and we'll be getting this on these funds so Christopher I want to thank you for joining us today and sharing the future of electric energy with our listeners how can you be reached for further questions you can reach me at Christopher dot Balcom at charge point dot com that's Christopher dot Balcom at charge point dot com if you have any issues finding my name is Donna right you easily Google search mail link Danner and be able to get the spelling on it but yet reach.

"Of emotions that end in e d as a called them false feelings, because what happens is these are. So I'll often talk to leaders in us. They'll say, I'm angry Mike. Okay. Anger is not a primary motion. So what, what, what is the emotion? I'm frustrated. I'm disappointed. I'm like, okay, these are synonyms for anchor. But what happens is, if I say that I'm frustrated than if you take the sentence, you blank me. And you put that emotion inside you frustrated me. You betrayed me. You disappointed me? I'm actually talking about a judgment that I'm making about you. Okay. So, again, like this language of leadership is about these kind of simple say, this not that fill in the blanks phrases that you can use the tests. The words out in magin like if you start just observing people on a day-to-day basis and after the word feel and they say I feel like you're gonna you're gonna hear it. You'll you'll hear yourself saying multiple times a day, even though I'm aware of it. I still do it. But that's the first step with the language of leadership is becoming more aware of the words that we use. Now I love that. And just so creating awareness around it now it's in your consciousness and so you see it when it shows up and I love that for everybody. Who's listening to really? Have that be one of the kind of action steps you take this week as you move as you move outside of this podcast in this education today is to get that into your level of consciousness, so that you're paying attention to it and see how often it comes up. That'll be interesting. That's one thing. So what is if listeners wanna come to my website at different exercises that as, as the book is coming out? I have a lot of the exercises that are coming out of the book and little, one page sheets cheat sheets that people can use if they come to my website at Christopher dot com, and I'll put up put a lot of those on Christopher dot com slash absolute just for your for your listeners, a ones that I mentioned here today fountain, and yet, we'll make sure that gets into all the show notes sent and everything as well. So excellent and tons of really great value there, everyone. So I'm for sure, make sure to check that out and one of those exercises that I, I want to talk about if you wouldn't mind sharing the overall concept of it. How it came to be how you came upon it. And, you know, just the general concept of the magic management eight ball challenge. That would be officer. So, yeah, so I've got my got my magic. You can't see me because a yeah. If you're not on the video, but I've got my magic management eight ball here. So I was in a I was in a workshop about two years ago, and I had a facilitator was sitting in front of me and I volunteered to be the kind of Guinea pig to the exercise and what they were doing. They were reading from us a standard list of questions. And if I read you these questions in fact, I had read the book that it was based upon a cult quiet leadership. I read these questions and I was like there's no way that these questions are going to elicit, you know, bring someone to some major insight with a really simple like how long have you been thinking about this? How important is this in, in really? Like I was like, if I was a leader, how is this going to result in the person on the other side of the table gonna come to some big insight? So I volunteered said he okay I'll be the Guinea. Pigan. So someone took me through this, and there was like fifteen people sitting beside them, behind them in, like it was three or four questions in again, literally, picking a pitting, picking questions off this list of fifteen questions that I came to a big insight and so the insight that I had from that was, you know, rather than I think, especially entrepreneurs and leaders who are kind of leading team of fewer than twenty people. I had that same experience where we tend to lead using, what I call.

Neandertal Spears Were Surprisingly Deadly

"This is science Americans sixty seconds science. I'm Christopher Dodd Yata time three hundred thousand years ago the scene a herd of horses struggling in mud a short five meters away, a group of early Nando tall hunters throwing volley of wooden spears towards the animals, and then probably coming into an injured horse, and then perhaps finishing it off with thrusting spear on Emeka milks a paleolithic archaeologist at University College London. But there's something not quite right about that classic scene. She says specifically the Neanderthals spears may have been more sophisticated and more lethal than we've given them credit for which would alter that. Ancient Tableau, we believe that Neanderthals could have thrown them from farther away that that would have allowed them to approach animals that maybe weren't disadvantaged, and they wouldn't have necessarily needed to come right up close to the animal to kill it off. With thrust. Some of these. Shots with throwing spare could be lethal to animal like that. If they hit in the right way this revised assessment of Neanderthal weaponry began with the crafting of spruce timber into replicas of an actual three hundred thousand year old spear. The surface was finished with the same kinds of stone tools used to make the original milks, then recruited six male javelin throwers to Chuck the replica at a hay bale at five meters. They struck the target more than half the time at ten to fifteen meters. A quarter of the time, but from twenty meters just one in six throws hit the hey, I mean, it's still not amazing. Accuracy. I have to say I was hoping for better though, she points out that the javelin throwers aren't trained to hit targets. Something Neanderthals may have been more skilled at and the experiments suggest the weapons were at least capable of sailing much farther than had been thought and high speed video of the throws proved the spears could strike with deadly force. The research is in the journal scientific reports the crafting of these ancient spears also suggest. Just some degree of intelligence, a concept of or intuition about balance mass and design, for example, whoever crafted these ancient spears use the denser, lower part of the tree trunk for the spirit tips intended to strike prey, but we still don't know which Neanderthals use this beers in battle. I want to emphasize that we chose male athletes rather than female athletes. Not because we don't think that women were playing a role in hunting. But because we needed a homogenous sample, but I'd be very curious to know how women did in terms of accuracy, perhaps another round of tests with women throwers can address that. Thanks for listening for scientific American sixty seconds science. I'm Christopher dot.

"For you. When you're ready, don't let anybody tell you when you should be ready when you should be done grieving or when you should start this process. You know, heck with them. All you know, when you're ready, you'll know it and and pick up the book, and I think maybe they'll give you a little bit of a road map of of what I did doesn't mean. That's the way everybody should do it. But what I did. And I think it'll help when you start that spiritual journey to try to connect. Sure. Well, next, stop, Charles and Elgin, Texas. Hey, Charles, go ahead. Hey, hey, hey, by the way, Georgia thanks for helping us. They're helping me talk with the Joe tonight and the. Buddies funny, though, I I. When called the Joseph for the nuns when I was in trouble. Joe? Oh, see. There was something. That was telling me just say this. But anyway, you know, I used to work and thinking something keeps I keep I keep saying timberland boots. Because I wore those were those at Timberline. Hey, so actually when I lived up that way, you know, where cold I'm down in Texas right now. Yeah. It's cold. It's cold here. That's that's a big boost to anyway. Yeah. The you know. Say, you know, there's you know. My dad was a great, man. And you know, there's there's it's okay. As as his son. You know, it's okay. If I if I. You know, if I, you know, went before he did it definitely, okay? It would have been if you lot better. But yeah. But but but your dad would not have wanted that. I mean, no no parent wants wants their kid to go before they do no parent. I mean. I don't know how you felt Joe. But I'm sure you would prefer to have gone in his place. It's w-. And that's what the whole thing is that you know, I lost my parents had lost siblings. And those are the natural order of things. This is the world being turned upside down in one one event one stroke. You know, so it's completely out of order. And that's why everything looks a little cockeyed due to two parents like like me and my wife who've lost a son well out of order, you know, I should've been at his wedding. I should've been there when my grandkid was born, you know, and and that just wasn't in the cards do feel cheated. Now, you know, memorize Tanya hit the news, and I would be mad at God. Well, I got a message from him about three days into it said, I didn't take your son his free will and recklessness caused him to come home early. And I welcomed him home. And God said to me, remember, I lost a son two. So at that point. I knew that God didn't move people around like chess pieces that my son's free will cause them to come home. And what God was doing was holding me up when I couldn't walk upright by myself for that first week. So kind of changed my whole outlook on God. So no, I don't feel cheated. You know, what I got to be his I got to be Christopher's dad on this side for twenty one years. I feel sorry for anybody. Who didn't have what I you know. I'd make that deal tomorrow as painful as losing him in this life is I'd make a deal tomorrow for the twenty one phenomenal years. I the greatest job in the world for twenty one year when you when you talk about recklessness. I bet if you to talk to those four young men who died that day. Day and said to them you're gonna you're gonna die, folks. If you go out on boat. I'm sure they would have stopped and said, what do you mean? And in questioned it's in and maybe they wouldn't have gone. But but this recklessness is all over the country. Now, Joe people doing it with prescription drugs and everything else. I mean, they're just they don't wanna kill themselves. I don't think those four in sun included to that canoe to say, hey, I hope we crash and flip and die. But the recklessness. Bulletproof mine mentality when you're that age, you know, that you really think you're invincible, you're invincible. And and and there's an oh crap moment, I think when when Chris actually said that and Saturday will actually a little more clearly. Yeah. That's right. The old like tell tell Chris you can only say certain things on the radio. He never thought that this would one event would cause the other. And then when it was done it was like, oh, my you know, what happened. I'm just wondering why nobody got to the canoe that was flipped over to hold onto it. Well, I don't know either. And and nobody will know there's no cameras out there. And you know, they did it what caused it? They get caught under it would they get caught under the ice. I don't know. I mean, it's just weird. It's weird for four kids to died like that. Yeah. I do know that it's painful to think about talk about. But a couple of kept trying to climb up on the ice. And it kept breaking. Yeah. I mean, it was the canoe and originally on the top of the ice. No. It was just it was, you know, early winter January. So it was a partially frozen over Muslim whiskey was cracking through ice. I guess mostly just lake with within it wasn't horribly cold. It was in the thirties. But but so it wasn't frozen over by any extent. But there were just you know, sections that were frozen mostly toward the coach line. Joe? Would you give out your website again? Smarter Pricing Could Ease Parking Frustration

"This is science Americans sixty seconds science. I'm Christopher Dodd Yata. If you drive in the city, you've no doubt experienced the frustration circling block after block after block cruising parking. But scientists who study that phenomenon have a solution to free up more spots. You make them more expansive. So people have to decide whether to balk father away and Bailey's closer and be more. It's Benneton as system scientists at Tel Aviv university. San Francisco has piloted a program like that that raises parking rates based on demand, and it's been shown to reduce cruising. But the censors required for those systems can cost millions of dollars to install an operating Benneton says so instead writing in Tripoli, intelligent, transportation systems magazine, he and his colleague near Fomin describe an algorithm that can determine smart pricing without the use of sensors. They tested on the Israeli city of but yum near Tel Aviv. I they divide the city and disowns the estimate the parking demand in each stone by calculating the number of parts and offices there, and then they factor in parking supply in the area, along with how wealthy potential Parker's might be with that data the algorithm suggested pricing for each sewn that would guarantee a ninety percent occupancy rate of parking spots citywide. Meaning ten percent of spots were always available to drivers willing to pay the price regardless of neighborhood. Of course, not everyone will agree that jacking up parking prices will ease driver frustrations. Like last time benenson proposed hiking rates for city residents about one hundred react sill the web, and the ninety nine of them that said that they never third such as Jupiter statement from the professors, and I should be burnished a buyer that ultimately he says, it'll be up to cities themselves to gauge their residents political appetite for an easier parking spot. Babies And Chimps Share A Laugh

"This is science Americans sixty seconds science. I'm Christopher Dodd Yata babies laugh is unmistakable. But aside from its squealing, high-pitched quality. There's another factor that sets a baby's laugh apart from ours. Babies laugh on the exhale and the inhale whereas dealt humans tend to bass predominantly on the exhale. So the classic kind of ha ha ha diesel solder a psychologist who studies emotions at the university of Amsterdam solder in a colleagues collected forty four samples of babies laughing from the ages of three months. To ten months. All the way up to eighteen months. They played the samples for about one hundred untrained volunteers and ask them to deconstruct the left's where the baby's laughing on the inhale the exhale or both. And there we find a nice relationship between the age of the baby and the amount of after that is happening on the inhale the younger the baby the more laughs on the inhale because remember our left gravitate towards the X hail as we age in solder thinks one reason for that could be that we gain more vocal control as we learned to talk. Because speaking also happens primarily on the X hail. She presented the preliminary findings at a meeting of the acoustical society of America in Victoria, Canada. And now her team is in the process of checking the judgments of the volunteers against those of professional phone editions, as it happens, human babies, aren't the only primates who laughed both breathing out and breathing in chimps. Do it too. They go like. You know, they laugh just more continuously wild inhaling and exhaling. But it's yeah, it's true. It's totally difficult to do on purpose. But Sada I thought pulled off a pretty good impression. I'll take that other compliment. Thanks for listening for scientific American sixty seconds science. I'm Christopher dot.

Hey, he he's gotten better with every game. He's been back. Then I think tonight is the night where despite the weather and all that I think he shows us exactly why he should have been MVP last year has funny that we think Torrey Smith was virtually useless last year. However, you gotta remember there's important penalties that he was able to get when he was running down field. Yeah. We currently need that some steady guy to get the holiday. Aren't coming. Our way. Yours and this message. Call back. John ritchie. Christopher dot Rhett. The band aid off, no more. And this message. I liked point. John Gibson can make those plays downfield.
