"In at naira betts dot com. Look at the promo calendar, hit a trifecta bet on Belmont in the big a and you get a 10% bonus on your winning so lots of great opportunities and we're going to start things off at Belmont in the big a aqueduct, race number three tomorrow, the noble damsel, only drew a field of 5 Jude, but I think there are four horses in here that all have a legitimate claim to being the best of the group. It's not a big field, but it's a competitive group. Small but select as they say, right? Absolutely. I think Christoph Clement holds the aces in here though. He's got two entrance plum Ali with Manny Franco aboard and mesidor with Javier cassiano. They're both really good turf milers and I think the race goes through him. Yeah, I agree with that. You look at Palma Li, he has doubled the earnings of any other horse in the race. He's two for two at the big gate and the only graded stakes winner in here probably 8 to 5 in the morning line messed door two to one. How do you see the race being run? Well, you know, with such a short field, it is going to depend on who's going to make the lead. I think Evie jets will probably go to the front. She looks to me like she's got the most speed in the race. But I think plum Ali is going to get a perfect trip right behind her and then mess the door will be coming late. I picked plum Ali. I just think the resume is the best of the group. Did you like one of the two come out horses better? Well, I mean, you know, I'm a little angry with Manny Franco currently, but I never let that bother my handicapping. I just don't worry about it, but I like plum Ali, the best of the ducal Montreal. All right, one other question, the rail horse kept waiting three to one on the morning line, a horse stretching out from sprint races to go a mile and gets I read or tease when kept waiting has I read Ortiz up kept waiting is very, very successful. Yeah, definitely, you know, most horses are successful when they have router T's on them. But kept waiting is an interesting possibility, Bobby falcone is a very good trainer, as you know, and this horse is consistent, runs hard. I don't see any reason to think that she can't get a mile. I mean, she's run good going 7 for a long. I think she's definitely a contender and kind of lends credit to what you said earlier about four out of 5 horses. Being able to win this race. I guess the horse ignoring is poor knot. But, you know, I think she's got a shot, definitely. Yeah. Interesting race, I think we both leaned towards Palma Lee, but short but sweet as you said. Race number 7 at aqueduct tomorrow is the hill prince, a grade two for $300,000. This is a three year old event. And it just looks to me like there's not a whole lot of speed in here. Yeah, especially going a mile in an 8th, sometimes those horses get out there and just cruise right along, you know? Who looks like the leader nand task at beach? Is that the horse that probably gonna make the lead? Maybe I don't know if I trust Delaware park speed at naira tomorrow, but yeah, maybe nanta beach will be forwardly placed. Was there someone you liked or did you have a kind of theory of this race? Well, I kind of lean toward grand sonata, you know, I'm a big pletcher fan. It's interesting. Junior alvarado gets aboard for the first time in that's not a jockey that pletcher often uses, but he obviously has talent and is good. I just thought grant sonata could lay close enough to be effective at the distance and take it from there. The other horses I liked limited liability. Suge horse just ran third in the Virginia Derby, I don't know if that's good or bad. Yeah. It could go either way. Yeah, another horse with no speed. Shook his two in here, Todd as two in here, Chad as two in here. You mentioned grant's 5 to one on the morning line. If you were playing a pick three pick four pick 5, something like that, how many of them would you need? Well, I mean, I would use, I would definitely use the two grants and I would use the 8 unanimous consent who I think is one of the Chad's horses that has a really good chance. I would use sugar because I don't want to be the guy that gets beat by suge. And the horse that kind of is a question mark that maybe could pop up is the 6 be better pletcher coming off a terrible race in the kurland Gabi 25 links. I think you just have to throw that out was wide on the first turn was eased, I ride hopping on this one, you know, never been on the grass by uncle mo out of a smart strike mirror could like the grass and after the race you don't want to sit there and go, oh my God, I can't believe I got beat by putcher. Yeah, that's actually my pick in the race for basically all the reasons you mentioned. You like grants not I like grants not a two, but why is junior alvarado up on grant sonata

"Well, you know, you go by if you just go by what happened this year, you'd have to say flavian Prada has to have more than a puncher's chance to do it. I mean, his first meet at Sarah told he had 40 winners. He had about almost a hundred pounds less than I read, did. I mean, people slamming prat's already proven he's going in the best jackets in the country. If he decides to stay and this circuit, I think he'll be a threat to the I read and Jose, but Louis syes too. I mean, you can't count him out. I mean, he won it last year. And he had a pretty good meet this year. He had 40 winners and Joel Rosario. I mean, he's a quality writer. I don't know if he if he's got enough to win the whole thing, but he's going to be in the mix. I would think that those guys would be the main competitors that the main competition for the Ortiz brothers, but if I was going to put some money on it, I would put my money on flavian prat for next year. If he comes back, which I would think he would. I mean, they're all great writers. We talked about it up there. I've never seen a Jackson with deep as it was at Saratoga. If you couldn't find a good rider, you didn't belong in a race. But I'm going to go outside the box a little bit and tell you a couple guys, I thought really real well this meet was a junior alvarado. I mean, you could see him getting hooked up with one of these bigger stables Rodney Moore, which I hear is going to happen in the future and see him being a leading rider up there. I say Jose Gomez for black boy to win ten races, which I think he won 8 or ten races at Saratoga, which is kind of unheard of. I think he's going to give him three four more years under the two legal range of Cordero. And see what he can do. But the jockey colony in New York is so deep, it could be any of ten that could jump up and get on a roll. How about on the trainer side? Dell, what's trainer is most likely to be the next to bump Chad or Todd from their top spot. It wouldn't surprise me if Bill mock came back and won a couple more titles before his career is over. I mean, he was winning a lot of titles before Todd kind of knocked him off the top spot and he's he's always liable to explode with a big numbers at any time before them stubs are told to be a model of consistency. You know, the thing about Chad and Todd is that they just have more horses than anybody else. Chad was just shy of 200 starters this year. Todd was about a 159 160. There was only three other trainers that had over a hundred starts. It might be in one of them. Mike maker and Christoph Clement. I mean, again, if you're going to make this into a betting angle, I think Todd, it's taught her a chance for the next ten years. That's what I think. Until someone can prove me wrong on that, those guys have all the horses. They're going to win most of the races. That's just the way it's been. And it probably will continue to be so. Dale, the total number of titles for Bill Mott at Saratoga 9. Right. And here's another one out there for him. Yeah, pretty impressive. We'll see if he can find a way to do it, but boy, Chad, and Todd, just because those numbers, they look like they're going to be really, really tough for years to come. All right. Well, I have decided that I really enjoy having our friend Nick zito as part of this program each week and considering this is the one year anniversary show. I couldn't bump Nick from the program. We're going to make him a permanent part of the show. And this is going to be a weekly feature as we once again play a couple rounds of right or wrong. Yeah, right or wrong. Am I right? What do you think? Right or wrong. Thanks, Nikki. All right, I'm going to present each of you with a couple of statements. You will tell me if you feel those statements are right or wrong, Dale. I'll start with you first. Flight line is the greatest horse sent secretariat. Sorry, wrong. I'd say it's the greatest horses man. I'm a huge fan. I have to go past secretary. I know I'll make a lot of people imagine seeing that, but I think what he did the other day has not been done. I know the 30 something links in the Belmont were spectacular with secretary, but you got to look at it from the big difference in the horses behind them and the horses were behind flight lines. Well, I'm going to say wrong. I think these awesome individual horse and, you know, what he's done in this short career has been nothing short of phenomenal. But, you know, I just want to see some more. I got to see more. I know he's won the 19 length win was off the charts and, you know, there's the Met mile when he had the bad start, but he still won easy by Brett drew off. But I mean, I'm not ready to put him in the same breath as a horse like spectacular bid yet. I mean, I thought spectacular bid was just phenomenal. And, you know, talking about forces since secretariat. I mean, Seattle slew was phenomenal. I mean, zenyatta was phenomenal. We're never going to be able to obviously see these horses line up together, but if they had an all star race would put all these together, it was flight line beat all of these horses. I'm not so sure. All right, number two. Yeah, Dale says man O war, the greatest since man of where he thinks that much of flight line and no doubt will get a chance to see him in the bluegrass of everything stays on track for the breeders cup classic. All right, the second topic for right or wrong. Today, marks the one year anniversary of I asked the answer, as I mentioned a short time ago, we have been subjecting our listeners to this segment for 52 weeks, guys. Dale remembering to answer his phone for all 52 weeks is the true highlight of year number one. Right or wrong. Am I right? What do you think, Dale? Absolutely right. And I think I did was a little late one time as I'll be on prompt on top. And not being kicked off the air. I mean, I know it helps it work satellites. But yeah, all those things are right. I agree with Nick on that one. I think there were a few times when we were wondering if Dale had not set the alarm clock because it took a while for us to find it, or leave the producer to find you. I mean, we got you. But there were a few times when I was thinking you might not make it under the buzzer. Well, y'all don't live as much on life as I do. I'm always doing something, right? But to say, I'd love to take on my 30 minutes of week after talk with you. Well, it's not like we're slugs, though. I mean, we do stuff too. Okay. Right. I mean, it's not in the middle after. Well, maybe that's true, too. That's right. You might be there. You may be the king of the afternoon. I'll give you that. All right, we're going to keep that right or wrong saying we'll have a couple of topics every week that our friend Nick zito will help us with. We're going to bring Nick on to this program too as a guest with the two of you.

"Maggie, have you had a chance to see the Derby winner since he's been up there at all? Not in person. Just what everybody else has seen from his workout yesterday to he looks he looks very good as far as that is concerned great energy levels moving over the track. Well, there was there's been a lot of talk and I'm kind of of that thought process too that he may have been a horse that just kind of proverbially freaked over the Churchill down surface because it is a bit of a tighter track than what he's going to get here in New York, but at least he got in a work over it. He's experienced Belmont. So maybe has shown adaptability. But I love the candidness of his trainer, Eric Reid saying that we're under no illusions. There's very much a possibility that he could have been a one hit wonder, but I do see that there is that horse that won the Derby in there. It's just bringing it out in him. And they've tried endlessly to try to get them to break better. It doesn't seem to be what he wants to do, but they're going to hope for the best. Yeah, at least he has a mile and a quarter to figure it out in the traverse next Saturday. Any other races on today's program that kind of caught your eye in any other horses you're going to be keeping an eye on? Well, we have a really good maiden race in the 7th. It does feel like the next fastest horse in the world could be in there with number 5 echo again. I mean, he's been working really well up here at the spa for Steve Austin. Another son of gun runner. Obviously he'll want to go further than this down the line, but definitely hints at the ability of getting it to the job done at 6 and a half. And then the rate that you led into this segment with the late class said, I mean, I know that with the moonlight is the horse to beat, but two weeks rest off of a Philly who takes her racing hard. I mean, she gets herself so wound up in before the race is before going in the gate. She's not easy on herself in the race. She pulls her riders and William Buick seems to be able to control that. And take nothing away from movie science. He's fabulous, but is he going to fit her? Like William did? So I, in two, she's turning back in distance today. And she feels like a horse that, despite her high energy, that at least physically she's built for that mile and a quarter type of distance, honestly, I'm a little interested. I know dulce de and eminent Victor, they're coming off of good performances in the late George both of which, having a bit of trouble in there as well, but then you have tags other horse in your consumer spending, she's okay. And I'm a little interested in haughty, turning back. I mean, she wants no part of my own a quarter. If anything, she's best at a mile, but at least it's a mile in the 16th today. And then when that's kind of up and coming, it's gonna see four Kurosawa come on. I've really loved what I've seen from this Philly. I know we're numbers might feel just a touch below some of the best sources in here, but she's done anything wrong. And she just shows up, which I appreciate. So I think this is a wide open race. I know with the moonlight it's going to take a lot of attention, but I'm really intrigued by this Lake classic. Yeah, as you would expect at Saratoga, those last 5 races that late pick 5 is always a challenge. And certainly the case here, yes, you've got talented maiden first time starter for Steve asimov and we'll see if that comes to fruition and then as you said, the Lake placid isn't as cut and dry as it looks on paper. And then you have the smart and fancy, the 5 and a half furlong, turf sprint before we get into the really big one the Alabama. But those 5 and a half for a long turf sprints that Maggie, when I handicap, I just start throwing my hands up in the air and I say, my goodness, this could go any number of ways. Is that the case with the smart and fancy today? Isn't it? It's always a big case. It feels like Robin sparkles took the prep for this race, if you will, because you got to control in the front end. It's not going to happen with the presence of, I mean, we'll see if she runs with Sarah Harper. I mean, sometimes the dirt speed doesn't translate to the terror, but I mean, she's pretty fast. And then there's sweat, trying the turf for the first time. She's pretty fast, too. So I don't know if Robin sparkles gets the command of this race. I have always been maybe it's because she's a Maryland bread, but I've always been a fan of miss Jay mccabe. She had a wretched trick, wretched trip last time in the caress. And she, I feel as though she is tactical enough to be prominent. To sit right behind those early leaders. So I like miss Jay McKay in there. Yet again. I will always stand by my girl. I know to her sprints. It's a lot of luck as you were saying. And who gets the best trip? And she hasn't gotten great trips in her last two. But she is a proven commodity. I'm just going to stick with the horse that they named after me. Number 5, too sexy. Everybody else, every other band, right? Yeah, right. Am I the first one to make that joke? I think probably not. But Christoph Clement having a good meet. We'll see if Joel Rosario can get two sexy home, but that's a really tough race and you can't go a lot of different ways. Maggie, we've got a few minutes left before I have to get to the next commercial break. What other horses or performances this meat have really stood out to you? They may have just been beating weaker competition, but when you talk about domination of your division, that equals older sprint division, Jackie's warrior, and the long distance her Philly is a mayor's and more like got it. They could not have won the respective races. Any easier. And I'm a little partial. Obviously, to Jackie's warrior, I've been his biggest fan since he came here and won the Saratoga special in a second start. I think he's just an amazing and amazing horse such a just a physical specimen as well. And he just dominates anything in that print division right now. So looking forward to him, I saw him schooling the other day. And been watching him train, he looks tremendous yet again, so he'll be heading into the forgo and then more like God and a little bit of a soft spot for because my uncle actually gallops her and she is not an easy ride in the morning, but you could see Joelle actually do what I was already writing both of those horses. But I mean, he just shook the reins at her once. And she was just gone in an instant. So it'll be interesting to see where they point her neck. They were talking about the store dancer for her because let's give her a little bit of a challenge, right? Yeah. Right, right. You know, one of the things Maggie that always, you know, every time we get a chance to visit or I get a chance to watch you on television. One of the things that always stands out is you spend a lot of time talking about horses and their confirmation and their presence and how they appear in the paddock. You know, as opposed to the nuts and bolts handicapping of the racing form, for example, you really dive into the horse and their physical confirmation. Is that kind of how you approach handicapping and trying to pick courses?

"$2 prices here, exact a $35, the tri 82 20 and the super $277 and 20 cents. Before we go to break, we're going to get one more live racing. Horses are on the track and warming up for the 9th race on the card at Saratoga. By the way, they have ten races on the card at Saratoga today. So we won't be able to get you there tenth race, but this 9th race is a 5 and a half furlong turf sprint for New York bread made in Phillies and mayors in for a $40,000 tag. There were 15 entered in this race 5 of them have come out so quick math. That sounds like ten to me. I did complete at least preschool. So I'm pretty good with those. Oh, I'm just kidding. Actually, this is a sick way of telling people that I'm good at math, but I'm very good at staring at tote boards and telling you within about 20 seconds what horses will play will pay to place and show if you need me to do it. So like a human calculator when it comes to degeneracy is what it is. I don't know. I don't know if sharp will want to market me in that way. The way any of you have that horse racing, I don't know if they called him the horse racing calculator or something that sharper image used to sell. And it was, it was a stunk, really. But what it was was you would kind of enter all these statistical things for horses into it, and it was supposed to tell you who was going to win. But what it basically told you was it would average out whatever horse on average had the most earnings per start, that was the top pick according to the sharper image horse handicapper calculator, whatever. I don't know why I had one of these when I was a kid. Probably other kids are hoping that their parents buy them baseball gloves and things like that. I wanted the horse racing calculator from sharper image. I don't know. But I wouldn't go buy it. I'm sure you could find them on eBay right now. Anyway, ten of them going to go 5 and a half furlongs on the turf in this 9th race at Saratoga. Three of them vying for favoritism right now all between 5 to two and 7 to the one smoking hot kitty three cool cats and kittens and 5 Eli dancer all right there in that range of being the favorite Eli dancers, the slight favorite right now, she's trying the turf for the first time. She's by alpha out of a Dane hill dancer mayor. I would think a little bit more turf breeding on the damn side just out of that with Dane hill dancer there with she being an Irish bred herself. But not overwhelming turf breeding for Eli dancer who ran well in her debut at fairgrounds and not so good last time out at Belmont partner. She is getting Lasix for the first time today, so she could have bled in her last race. She really went from being up close to stopping very badly in the race and maybe that's what happened. Maybe she bled in the race and she'll run better today and it's something you can draw a line through. I would say this of those three I would prefer number one smoking hot kitty who has been she's coming out of a race going that one turn mile on the turf at Belmont and she finished third that day. When in the Christoph Clement barn, she was 9 to 5 actually the second choice in the race to Philly who finished just ahead of her hour Jessica already came back and got her maiden win in her very next start smoking hot kitty goes from Christoph Clement to Linda rice overall Clement a higher percentage trainer than Linda rice. But this is a spot where Linda rice excels these first off to claim type she's winning right at about a 20% clip. And in the money about 50% of the time. So I would think that smoking hot kitty has a big, big chance in here. Don't love the rail post going 5 and a half furlongs when it's a big field of ten like this. But I expect smoking hot kitty to drop back and try to close anyway, so maybe she can save ground and weave through traffic and find her way through on the turn. The other one is number three cool cats and kittens. That's the other one they're betting right now. She ran second against basically the same level of competition back in late May at Belmont park. Good enough that they tried her in a maiden special weight race against New York breads in her most recent start and she faded pretty badly in that race. So back down in for a tag and one of the old sayings and racing, the best hop is the drop and a lot of people think the best drop is going from maiden special to a maiden claiming event, even if it's as high as a maiden 40s. So cool cats and kittens probably facing a little bit softer today than what you saw in her last start. Right now, Eli dancer remains the favorite at two to one cool cats and kittens three to one and my top selection smoking hot kitty is right there at 7 to two on the board as these Phillies and mayors arrive at the starting gate and just a quick answer. By the way, a couple of rider changes here Javier castellano picks up the mount on number 6 Sarah's splendor. Trevor McCarthy writing number 7 ace up her sleeve big long shot there for trainer Steve places. They are double loading for this 5 and a half furlong affair. By the way, there was one of the also eligibles that drew in galley head who was a number 11 first of the AEs drew in for owner trainer Roy luhrmann Ricardo Santana junior aboard. By the way, there is a jock off one of these horses and trying to figure out I think it's Eric cancel the writer of number 9 one journey. In fact, it is. She's the first time starter. She went in very quickly, so Eric cancel will climb aboard inside the starting gate. Last few runners are going in. Up to the outside, we'll hand it off to John embryo. Here's race 9 at Saratoga.

"Time out. Now that was the end of May, normally I would say, I don't like Phillies coming off their best race because more often than not, it seems like they regress next time out. But the fact is she's had almost two months off since that race. So probably less chance of her regressing than others who would be in this scenario. Number three, coco pelli is the second choice in the wagering. She's very intriguing for Christoph Clement and Joel Rosario. By the way, Joel Rosario rode 6 sassy Melissa in her last start. I don't know if you had a choice of that race because Jose Ortiz is back aboard her and he's the jockey who's been aboard her for each of her three lifetime wins. So I'm not even sure Joel had his choice in this spot. Kokopelli though has not raised since July of last year out at Belmont parks. She's won two of her three starts and Christophe Clement like Todd pletcher, like Chad Brown and a few other trainers that are very, very good. You don't really worry about his horses off the layup. He seems to win right around the same percentage off these extended layoffs as he does all the time. I think he's, well, he's having a fantastic start to the Saratoga meet winning at a 31% clip, but overall in 2022, he's hitting it 21% and off these long layoffs. He's right at 19%. So his horse is usually ready to go. All right, we're 5 minutes away at Saratoga. We will get back there for live coverage of their 8th race, but we need to head out west. It's opening day, where the turf meets the surf, and the horses have arrived at the starting gate for race number one. Of the delmar meat. You can hear Trevor bendoc. And rim protectors last. Into the turn they go and breakfast riders still a leader, but here's America red white and blue now breathing down his neck in second. America red white blue goes looking for the lead now, then it's another three lengths back to conundrum and a long way back to club cow. They come to the top of the lane breakfast ride hanging on to the lead. America red, white, blue is now fully extended up alongside conundrum comes after them from third, homeward Brown breakfast ride has no intention of slowing down. Breakfast ride keeps on going. America red, white blue could not get in conundrum back in third, but its breakfast ride, one and unders and John Sadler to open the del mar meat. They win it by a good four. America red white blue second then came

If you have a gambling problem call or text 805 two two 4700, Caesar's race book get bonuses right out of the gate. All right, let's head out for some more live action. Saratoga, there are about two or three minutes away from post time for the co featured event of the day. It's the coronation cup, $150,000 the purse for three year old Philly sprinting 5 and a half furlongs on the turf. Scratch numbers one, two, three, and 12 leaves us with a field of 8 going to post right now number 7 static fire is the current favorite at 5 to two. In fact, two to one just ticked down for the team of Brian lynch and Julian le Peru. Undefeated two for two in her career, broke her maiden last summer sprinting on the turf at Saratoga. One in wire to wire fashion that day by about three and a half lengths came back this year on the dirt at Churchill downs and looked good going wider to wire against presumably tougher competition in allowance ranks. Now stepping up into what certainly is a minor stake, not a major stake race, but static fire is in good form and certainly makes sense in this spot. It doesn't look like she completely stands out in this field, though, number 6 dairy nan for Christoph Clement and Joel Rosario has run well at times in her career. She looked like she was really going to be a nice Philly and I don't know if just the competition got tougher. She's just not run as well lately. But she hasn't won in any of her last or most recent four starts, that being said, more often than not, she's close, not far back. And if they go fast early on, she's going to have a good chance because she does not have a whole lot of early speed. And at first glance, it looks like most of the other Phillies in this race do want to be forwardly placed. So if you're going at that theory, the pace should be lively enough for somebody from off the pace to at least have a chance, whether she's good enough to win, that's another story. The intriguing one and here is Empress tigress. And there was a chance Empress tigers was actually going to be running in a state race this weekend, looks like she ends up here, she was bent down to even money in her career debut about a month and a half ago, maybe two months ago at woodbine on their synthetic main track, stalked the pace, took the lead with authority at the top of the stretch and drew off to win by 6 lengths, covering the 5 and a half furlongs in a pretty eye popping one O three and one. She was obviously rumored to be pretty good. She was pretty good. She's bred to be as good on the turf as she is on any other surface, being by classic empire out of a tale of the cat mayor and she's drawn well on the outside John Velasquez picks up the mount on this daughter of classic empire. She's the one that I'd be most concerned about. You just don't know what she's going to do. Switching surfaces, switching countries for that matter. Obviously facing tougher competition. And just trying something different this afternoon, but she looked really good in her debut. I'm intrigued to see what she does. Getting into what certainly seems like tougher competition today. They are at the gate for the coronation cup and starting to load in right now. Let's see. Quick check of the odds as they go into the starting gate. And it looks like still number 7 static fire, the slight favorite for the team of Brian lynch and Julian le Peru, those easy to spot hot pink and black silks of silverton hill. Last few runners going in, we've got a few of them acting up in the gate right now. And in fact, it almost looked like one of them false broken. In fact, that's what happened. Number 5, sweet solari, a big long shot in here. Broke before the gates were open and actually pushed the front of the gates open. She did not come out, but really made the entire starting gate jolt. So now the writer is climbing back aboard that's Ricardo Santana junior and it looks like people are scrambling there. I don't know if they're going to take a look at number 5 sweet solari and back her out of the starting gate. A bunch of the assistant starters are looking around and actually what they're doing is they're looking at the rider. So unfortunately, it looks like we've got a little bit of a delay here. I'm not sure if Ricardo Santana junior is okay. Other writers are climbing back aboard the horses, I guess he is okay, clear to ride, John embryo has the call of the coronation cup. And they're off. From the outside, Empress tigress is going out for the early lead. And

"She comes to ride, she rides hard, she rides smart. And she's always been a jockey that I'm really impressed with. Another neat little side note about her too is she actually lives in Delaware. She lives in Middletown Delaware as her family in Delaware. So we were really be all the storylines coming together in the morning match with chuck's acne and a fleet Alex and how great played Alex was back here in the 2000s and Carol so Daniel beings from Delaware, Delaware and raising her family in Delaware. If that horse went, all those storylines coming together would be fantastic. It would make my day actually as a fan of the sport Delaware. You know, there's an old adage, Chris that people covering the sport in the press box. And this goes for horse racing and for other sports, are not supposed to cheer, but it sounds like if morning matcha was on her way to a win in the Delaware oaks, you might break that little bit of a press rule. You know, here at Delaware, I've been fortunate because I've got to know people like Rick Porter from Fox hill farms. It was from Delaware. And that we root for the hometown hometown crowd. And I grew up coming to the race of Delaware. My father affects and he says, I got my diapers changed at this track. So there's always a little part of me that pulls for the local people. And I am, yes, a little bit biased. But I when it comes to my opinions as a handicapper, I try to separate that from my opinions as a fan. But when a local person does well in this big race, it does put a smile on my face. I guess it goes back to when I was a kid rooting for the Christianity stable horses and Jane longer. And all of her great horses. I always be root for those hometown horses. So it's a little part of me that I don't think is ever going to leave, but at the same time, I try to keep it in check and only let it come out at the appropriate times. While the other stake race on the card tomorrow is race number 7, it's the aforementioned grade three Kent steaks for the three year olds going a mile and an 8th on the turf $200,000 on the line here. 9 of them entered, although one of them number four, a rod two rod is main track only. So theoretically a field of 8 coming together for this race. And the morning line favorite is number 6 main event. It was coming off a sub par effort against really top quality competition and the great two American turf at Churchill downs. His three races on turf prior to that, though, were very, very good. What are you looking at for the kenton and how do you assess main events chances? I think main event is the horse to beat just based off of his two nice efforts at costume park on the turf when the Palm Beach where he got beaten second and neck in the cutler bay. I'm going to kind of put a line through that race of Churchill because it was a really tough event. And I suspect the horse may have gotten this some issues and so I'm just going to throw that race out and pay attention to everything below that. But having said that, big question mark, that last race as well, which opens up the door for a lot of others in this race. If you're a handicapper and there's quite a nice little group here of forces that you can pick from a fear of handicap with a lot of different things that they bring to the table. Trainer Christoph Clement has won this race twice already with the aforementioned goof O back in 2020 and with the very talented and quirky frostmourne back in 2017, he is back to try again in 2022 with elazar tried the grade two 9 ridge last time out, didn't have the cleanness of starts. Maybe he didn't have the greatest pace scenario. Facing what I think is a tad softer competition tomorrow and getting Lasix for the first time. What do you think of elazar's chances? Yes. And she finished finished 6th, three and a half lens off of the winter. Coming off of the layoff. And Christoph cuman has had tremendous success shipping horses down here to Delaware park, especially in stakes races. So the source has got a ton of chances got a nice speed figure from the last race. The jockey Trevor McCarthy is another guy that's very familiar with this course. His father Mike that I mentioned earlier was a 6 time leading jockey here, Trevor grew up watching his father ride here. Trevor actually graduated from a local high school in the area. Alexis I DuPont and he actually too got his first grader win in the Delaware oaks in 2014 aboard fortune pearl that he wrote for Graham ocean. So Trevor's another guy that knows this, the horses here at Delaware park really well. And definitely gives a source of leg up in this race, I think. You mentioned former jockey, Michael McCarthy, not the gentleman who's training right now, Michael McCarthy. Actually, Mike McCarthy is what he went by when he was writing. I remember the first time I met Mike McCarthy, he looked like he was 6 foot three to me. I said, how is it possible that this guy not only is a jockey, but is as good a writer as he is. What are your memories of Mike McCarthy the writer? Oh, he was as competitive as anybody I've ever seen in any walk of life. He came to ride every day, he came to ride every race regardless of the horse that he was on. He was complete pro and he really was, in my opinion, a very underrated time while he was riding. And he was he was a pro and he came the ride and Trevor Trevor rods just like when I would see Trevor ride sometimes I flash back to 25 years ago when I was 50 pounds lighter and think about back in the 2000s when Mike used to ride irregularly. He looks exactly like his father on a horse and it's neat to see him ride here at Della. And I'm glad he's coming back. It's the first time he's been back here to Delaware in 2022. So I'm really looking forward to seeing him in the irons here and on horses here at Delaware park. Well, Chris, we really appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to join us this afternoon. You've got a great card tomorrow at delo R park, even a bigger card next Saturday at Delaware park with I think four stakes on tap including the grade two Delaware handicap and the grade three Robert dick memorial. So a lot of great racing these next couple of weekends at beautiful Delaware park and we will be watching my friend. Yes, actually, Graham motion who's got speeding Scott and the Kent tomorrow. He's been fantastic in these braces here at Delaware. These greater races at this time of year. You move on the Delaware handicap is one of the delawares twice. And I think he's one of the Robert G dick probably ten times. Maybe not that many, probably close today, but you know what's funny is he's never won the king and he's got a pretty good shot with speaking Scott tomorrow. So there's another interesting storyline with the race. Ton of good storylines a ton of good races..

"They're on tomorrow from 1230 to 6 p.m. Eastern Time, Sunday. This one's a little bit confusing. FS1 from 1230 to four 30. And over to FS two for a half an hour. Then back to FS1 for another half hour. Boy, that's odd. But they got great content and look forward to seeing them all weekend long. All right, bob, you mentioned that we've got a doozy of a $100,000 stake to start off tonight's edition of the weekend stakes preview presented by naira bets and it comes at Belmont park. Their featured race tomorrow was the grade three soaring softly three year old Phillies going to sprint 7 furlongs on the turf a full field of 12 set to go to post. The morning line favorite is the Chad Brown trainee haughty. We last saw her running third behind pizza Bianca in the breeders cup juvenile Phillies turf last November all three of her races have been a mile or more. She comes back as a three year old Philly trying to win at 7 furlongs. Yeah, looking back on last year's breeders cup bob, that might have been the best race of the breeders cup, which is amazing how that's developed into a key race, of course, malavath, the French whores who finished second there has come back and run well. I think there's at least 5 winners piece of Bianca. It was champ. I think she's, as she runs since that really good second at aqueduct. About 5 weeks ago, I don't recall, but just an amazing renewal of the reader step juvenile Phillies turf. Hotties very good, obviously, Chad Brown, I would guess, has about two dozen good three year old Phillies on the turf and this division to me is just developing into the deepest and most competitive division in American race and we've got good Phillies and Barnes like Chad brown's gram motion. We have three in here from Christoph Clement. He's loaded with Phillies. Brad Cox has, of course, goodwins. Ian Belmont at really good Judd mod Phillies, Todd pletcher always has them. There's always a few on the West Coast. They're coming from England, Ireland, France, Australia, and this is a really, really nice bunch, it's kind of interesting. We have a kind of a bunch of milers and a bunch of sprinters going 7 furlongs. So it's a true handicapping puzzle and there's some live long shots in here. In fact, I thought both of the klement horses that are first time in from Europe. Breezy and Anna dwarf comes from France are very interesting and worth watching. They've raised their well bred and they've raised against very good horses. I actually went with a second time starter. I could not have been more impressed with the 12 horse in here a dark angel Philly called chardy party when she broke her baby to that production a terrible start from the inside post and crushed a field of well bred means at keenland and she's back and I just think she could be any kind of horse she's 9 to two in the morning line and my pick is charity party. I think she's going to go on and be a really special feeling for the Wesley ward stable. All right, so chardi party for bob, I'm also going to try to beat the favorite. I have nothing but respect for haughty and I think she's she may be the best villain in this field. Maybe just a ridiculous trying to beat her, but if they're going to beat her and if number 9, dairy names can have a chance to be more. It's probably sprinting and not routing. So going a little further than she's been in her 5 starts, haughty shortening up, dairy name does have a race under her belt this year. Fast closing second in the limestone at keenland last time out, I think that this may be her best chance to beat haughty. I'm going to try dairy name stretching out to 7 furlongs to take the grade three soaring softly, race 9 tomorrow at Belmont park. Let's head out west bob. They've got a couple of good stakes on, in fact, they have several big stakes on, I believe gold rush day tomorrow at San Anita. We're going to look at two of them starting with their 5th race. It's the snow chief, $150,000 on the line. These are Cal bread or Cal sired three year olds going a mile and an 8th on the turf. Interesting that the snow chief would be a turf race since of course no chief was not known for being a turf force and we heard at the top of the show his victorious stretch run in the 1986 Preakness stakes where he was able to turn this tables on his nemesis Ferdinand that day. Well, none of these as of yet look like they're the next snow chief, but there are some pretty good-looking three year olds in here field of 6 to go to post morning favoritest John Sadler trainees smugglers run. Yeah, no snow chief. Did he get to see him run, bob? I did get to see him run, got to see him win the Santa Anita Derby live that year. And he disappointed a lot of these SoCal faithful in The Kentucky Derby, of course, another SoCal horse and Ferdinand got the job done, but then snow chief turned it around in the Preakness. He was a very, very good horse, easy to spot like a black horse for trainer Mel's duty. Yeah, whenever they mention small horses, good small horses, snow chief was apparently unusually small, but extremely talented 13 for 24, even though it's a turf race that he was a dirt who I said he is fantastic that California racing still remembers one of their greats from the 80s. This is an interesting group. We have a Philly going against the boys, a Golden Gate shipper of zero grand. I think she's a little bit overmatched and here, but being president to see what she does. It looks kind of like there's a rivalry developing between bally's charm and worse red Sanchez and smuggler's route is stretching out to a route the first time I see that as a disadvantage at a short price. I think the race is between valley's charm and worst red Sanchez. And I think that the myelin innate is really going to suit valley's charm might be the best for us to just go for a ride these days horizon for Jeff Mullins stable in form. And I think he's going to make good use of his tactical speed on the lawn going to my own 8th and he's got a real nice myelin 8th pedigrees. My pick is valley's charm. I also went with bally's charm Jessica py for not having a good Santa need a meat only winning about 6% of the time, been a little bit tougher for Jessica since losing that apprentice allowance, but obviously rides this son of wash armant very well. And I think may have a pace advantage over some of the others in here. It's a like you, bob. I'm going to go to number four bally's charm to get the job done in the snow chief race 5 tomorrow on that big card at San Anita. We're going to jump forward to the 8th race on the card and speaking of naming races for past really good SoCal runners. This is the Mel air and these are cow bread or calcio three year old Phillies going a mile and a 16th on the main track. Male letter herself never raised more than a one turn mile back when Hollywood park had that one turn mile in the last time she raised. She actually beat snow chief and the boys in the silver screen. She went a mile in one 32 and for that day and unfortunately never raced again retired 5 for 5 in her career..

"All right, Dave, we've got three Sunday stakes to look at, including the license fee at Belmont park. It's race 8 on their Sunday card, $100,000 on the line for the Phillies and mayors. They go 6 furlongs over the inner turf course at Belmont park. We've got a field of 7 going to post here. And the return to the races of two sexy, who when we last saw in 2021 was a very consistent sprinting Philly. And this race would qualify for that promotion that you just mentioned, the 20% bonus on the exact, right? Or as I know it would, but well, that's interesting because both of us like toro strike Saturday in the elusive quality who's 6 to one and would be a nice horse to key in an exact that you get 20% extra on. And this race, the license fee, while I can make arguments for a bunch of them, it glue is stepping up and perhaps is the lone speed in here, always late, coming off a layoff is a deep closer, but boy, Bill Mott's numbers and turf sprints aren't particularly attractive. Tom morrie is great numbers off a claim and assertive style has been running pretty strong races, but on paper it seems to me that there are two of them that just look better than the rest, two sexy and miss J McKay. So, you know, this is not an exact that's going to pay an enormous amount, but I think it's an exact, but it's got a pretty decent chance to cash and to add 20% to your bed. That sounds like a pretty good promo at naira bets. To me, two sexy is the one off the layoff. Just think the distance and the track fit perfectly. Love getting Joel Rosario and fits really nicely in this group if we see anything like we did before the vacation back in October at Belmont or in November at aqueduct. Miss J McKay, a Maryland bred for Christoph Clement, coming off a dirt race, a race that was taken off the turf finished third. The previous race at Gulfstream didn't run well as the favorite but had some bad racing luck before that really, really strong a win at Gulfstream, a win at aqueduct, but ran into two sexy at Belmont back in September and two sexy was too good that day. I just wonder if miss J McKay prefers shorter than 6 furlongs. It seems to me the best has been 5 and 5 and a half furlongs. I like both of them. I would key the two of them, but too sexy on top for me. Two Christophe Clement trainees and although I think two sexy is the better of the two. I'm going to pick miss J McKay on top for one reason only. And that's that two sexy, I'm not sure if she is going to fire her best shot on Sunday. She hasn't raced since the end of November and to my knowledge, she only has three recorded works coming back. So I'm not sure maybe that's all she needs, but more often than not, it's not all that horses need before they're ready ramped up and ready to fire their best shot. Christophe Clement did not take this mayor down to Florida, so it's not like she's been training down there. You know, he left her in New York. She just started training again about a month ago. I'm wondering if she's a race away from firing her best shot. I'm scared of her. I'm going to use her in the horizontal plays just with miss Jay McKay, but for purposes of picking somebody on top. For me, it's miss J McKay, because she has the recency. She's been working all along. And I think if she's going to beat her stablemate, maybe Sunday is her best chance of doing it. Let's jump over to San Anita. They've got a great at stake on Sunday as well. The grade three Wilshire for Phillies and mayors going one mile on the turf $100,000 on the line. Big field here, Dave, 11 going to post. We heard in our rejoin, England's rose a winning the swing time stakes going a mile last time she won. That was at Santa Anita last October. She's tried graded stakes competition going longer than the mile in her most recent tries and has found the waters just a little bit too deep. Marooned way out in the outside post 11 of 11 how'd you see this race? I thought this was a really good race. It really competitive race. This is a grade three race where no horse has won a graded stakes. So someone's going to win their first graded competition and England's rose probably makes about as much sense as anyone else, but not more sense than the rest of them. I mean, the win in October in the swing time stakes Santa Anita is good, not great. I think this competition is probably on par with that. Maybe even a little bit better. And then the last two are kind of fair against better competition. You get the layoff and maybe England's rose will be a little bit better as a 6 year old, but I'm not that excited, particularly with that post position. The ten coming off of layoff, miss Drake's, I'm a little more interested in because it's first as a four year old. And I think you see more of a jump forward between the three and the four year old campaign. Neil drysdale had this horse campaigning in New York and New Jersey over the summer and into the fall and winter last year. And was running competitively not great. I thought faced probably better than this or as good as this at aqueduct last time out and I'm interested here. Eddie's new dream number 9 in the field is a second off a layoff. I thought ran a very credible race last time, but now stretching out to a mile here, number two, javin, face going global last time and didn't didn't embarrass herself at all, ran pretty well. This is a second off a layoff and I think has a big chance in here and key for our I thought last time out had a little bit of an excuse. It didn't have great racing luck. The previous Santa Anita was excellent. Didn't didn't do poorly against grade one horses at woodbine back in October, and I think fits very nicely here. I would need to go pretty deep in this race. The two I like best are the 5 and the ten. I'm putting kief flower on top. I think there's value with mister carries, but it's a wide open affair. So we came up with the same one on top. I agree with just about everything you said. It's a wide open race. I don't love key flower by any means. I think she's just as good if not better than the others in this field. I just happen to think that she might be a little bit better at a mile or a mile in a 16th than she is at a mile and a quarter. And that's even with her finishing only two lengths back to in the EP Taylor last year. But she made that kind of middle move and flattened out down the stretch going a mile and a quarter last time out. Maybe against better competition as well. I think this shorter distance going the mile in the Wilshire and a little bit of a softer competition is going to give her a better chance key flower for both Dave and myself and what looks like a wide open edition of the grade three Wilshire goes as race 9 Sunday at San Anita. One last race to look at David's north of the border on Sunday. It would bind their 7th race is the $125,000 Woodstock three year old, 6 furlongs on the synthetic main track, basically the male edition of the star shoot, which has run the day before. So three year olds going three quarters of a mile, we've got a field of 9 going to post..

"That's right. You heard it correctly. One to 11 p.m., why are they on so late? Well, it's because Churchill's opening days tomorrow, and they're running a night program tomorrow, so you're going to get all the great racing at Belmont during the day, and the great racing on the opening day card at Churchill tomorrow night. All right, Dave, we've got 12 races to look at on this evening's edition of the weekend takes preview presented by nyra bets as we open the show. We heard the stretch run of last year's oyster bay at Belmont park, which was one very handily by value proposition. He was the four to 5 favorite that day. He ended up winning by almost three lengths. It's actually the last time that he's gotten to the winner's circle, three races since then. He's been a little bit of a disappointment losing at odds of 9 to 5 two to one and 6 to 5 respectively. He's three to one on the morning line tomorrow in the $100,000 elusive quality for the four year olds and up going 7 furlongs on the turf at Belmont. Is this where value proposition gets back to the winner's circle? It certainly could be. I mean, he's second off a layoff, cutting back in distance and obviously Chad Brown and stables know what they're doing. He is an incredibly logical, contender in what I think is a terrific race and a very wide open race. I'm not going to give you anything here that is mind boggling or incredible other than to say, I'm against snapper Sinclair. Four to one on the morning line. I think that's the second or third choice. I think the second choice in the wagering didn't run well against better in Dubai comes back only a month later after that race certainly has back class and back figures that put him very much in this race. I am all out against snappers Sinclair. I don't like that quick turnaround coming back from half a world away. Did it last year ran at Churchill downs around the same weekend and finished second, but didn't get the job done. Maybe that was a little bit of a better field. The rest of them, I'm going to have to really, really play a bunch, value proposition will be on my ticket, so too will therapist on the outside for Christoph Clement and Joel Rosario, second off a layoff and cutting back in distance. Really likes this 7 furlong distance also has been quite good at Belmont park on the inside. I'm interested in Bill Mott's penalty first time gelding with Jose Ortiz up, didn't run great going longer at Kentucky downs in September, but certainly has races in the last summer and last spring that I think puts penalty very much in the mix. My choice though, my top choice is Todd pletcher's toro strike. Stretching out after a 5 and a half fur long turf sprint at fairgrounds were quite honestly he didn't run very well, but I'm okay with that. He hadn't run since August. He was running against much better horses and running quite well in Europe. I think he needed that race. I think he'll run much, much better. And I think there's tremendous value on toro strike. Okay, so I also pick toro strike, but different reasons. I don't think that he needed his last race off the layoff. I just don't think it was, it was meant to be Fletcher does not run a lot of horses at fairgrounds. This is a horse who had been training for him down at Palm Beach towns in Florida and my guess is that the lack of choices of where to run in Florida and the turf course the condition that it was in through all of the championship meet. Led Fletcher to not try toro strike on the Gulf Stream park turf. So we shipped a fairgrounds. He runs in this race that who knows if they even if it was really on the radar or not. And the horse just didn't run his race. He's been gone for now two and a half months or so. And like you said, he was running good races against better competition in Europe. I have a feeling that's a non race that we saw from toro strike and like you. I'm going to give him another shot. 6 to one on the morning line, but we both picked him on top. Toro strike in the elusive quality race 9 tomorrow at Belmont. Let's jump down to Churchill downs. They're opening day featured event is raised number 9, the rocks Atlanta overnight stake for Phillies and mayors going 6 furlongs on the main track. How about this person? $160,000 on the line and just a field of 5 going to contest The Rock salana Caribbean caper 5 for 5 on her career, but she is facing the best field she's seen thus far. Yeah, I think this is a risk with 5 horses and all 5 of them have a legitimate argument for why they can win. And I think you can bet on anybody in here and feel like you're on sound footing Caribbean caper is unbeaten 5 for 5 facing older for the first time always has been the favorite and I don't think Caribbean cape will be the favorite. Though it's not impossible, I'll stall off the layoff pretty good off of long layoffs and very, very viable. I'm interested in the pace of this race, Bobby. When I first looked at it, I kind of thought number two chitara might be loose on the lead on a second thought I thought maybe number one euphoric could go with chitara. I think chitara is a versatile type that doesn't have to be on the lead, but very well may be. Second off the layoff. And I think it is logical. But if, in fact, you flora chitara push each other just a little bit. I think it sets up for Bayern this number three who just is that the right track and the right distance her trainer is just phenomenal off a long layoff over 30%. And I went with badness in a really good running of a 5 course stakes race. Yeah, I really don't have a strong say in this because like you, I think you can make a case for everybody in here. I went with chitara, the one that you mentioned before, because I think she'll either be on the lead or stalking and get first run. Either way, I think she'll be in front when they turn for home and they may have to come get her and whether Bayern or club car or Caribbean caper can pass her. That's another story. I went with chitara, I think she's going to be in the right spot. Dave going with Bayern. Both of us taking a shot against the morning line favorite and undefeated Caribbean caper in the rocks Atlanta overnight stakes, the opening day feature tomorrow night at Churchill downs. By the way, that race goes just about ten minutes after 10 p.m. Eastern Time for that opening day card. Let's jump down to Oak Lawn park their featured race on their Saturday card tomorrow is the $150,000 bachelor stakes. Three year olds here going to sprint.

Well, they're on tomorrow from one to four 30 Eastern Time on FS two. Then they take a one hour break for some reason and come back at 5 30 to 6 o'clock on FS two a reminder, no racing this Sunday. In New York. All right, Dave. We've got 11 stakes to look at when we're done with looking at the stakes today. We're also going to take a look back at some of the top oaks and Derby preps on the road to the Kentucky oaks and The Kentucky Derby. I don't want your picks necessarily of who you like in the oaks or the Derby, but maybe your impressions of what we've seen the better prep races may be the prep races that we don't need to pay attention to as much when we come to oaks and Derby day respectively. But let's start with the stakes previews and start right here at aqueduct. Their featured race on tomorrow's card is the $100,000 plenty of grace Phillies and mayors going one mile on the turf just a short field of 6 set to go to post and actually it's just a field of 5 because number four halo city is entered main track only. So a field of 5 with a heavy morning line favorite in the Chad Brown trainee technical analysis. Yeah, I tried really hard to pick number one all in this race. I think the other two serious contenders, the favorite technical analysis and plumlee number three for Christoph Clement. They're both making their four year old debut neither of them have faced older horses and I was looking for someone with a little bit more experience, someone who has kind of been more battle tested in a race like this. And I just couldn't convince myself of alms, who was brilliant as a two year old and hasn't won since. I think alms a quality horse who fits in this field, but at three to one, I don't see extraordinary value. And that brought me back to Chad brown's technical analysis and Palma Lee for Mike dub and Matata and those are obviously both big, big time ownership groups and the horses faced each other. Now it was quite a while ago was June of 21 and they faced each other in a stakes race at Belmont park and Palma Lee finished second technical analysis didn't have a great trip that day finished 6. Obviously, technical analysis is a much better race horse. Now, and could be the controlling speed in here, but I think probably can sit just off of technical analysis. And I think it's 7 to two. There's value present. So I went with pama Lee a minor upset. Okay, you and I are going different directions on this race. I agree with the fact that it's easy to spot the plum Ali beat technical analysis back in that race back in the middle of 2021. I think the difference between the two is that to me technical analysis has improved several lengths since that last time that they faced off against one another, whereas plum Ali has not. In fact, I'm not really sure plum Ali has improved since 2020 when she was so good as a two year old Philly. So I'm completely against plum Ali in the plenty of grace. I picked technical analysis on top. I'm probably going to hit exact as with either alms jocosa or flower point beneath. I'm basically taking a total stand against plum Ali in the plenty of grace. This is what I like. I like when we're looking at past performances and we come up with two completely different ideas. You know, if we come up with the same horse, which we do many, many times, there's not really much one can add to the other. But I like when we have differing opinions, one of us is bound to be right in this spot. I hope it's me, but maybe it'll be you. Dave likes plum Ali. I like technical analysis to very talented Phillies going in the plenty of grace race four, by the way, on the Saturday card at aqueduct. Let's jump down to Oak Lawn park and their featured race on tomorrow's card is the half $1 million grade three count fleet sprint. Four year olds and up 6 furlongs at Oklahoma park just a field of 6. We heard in the intro, the replay of Jackie's warrior actually able to pass life is good in last year's grade one Alan jerkins up at Saratoga. I don't know. I don't know if Jackie's warrior is ever going to pass life as good again, but he was good enough to do it that day, which was amazing in itself. His last start, he was very disappointing as a heavy favorite in the breeders cup sprint turns out he was hurt in the race. He's come back, shows fast works for his return, 6 to 5 on the morning line. I guess Dave, the question mark in this race is, do you take the class and speed edge of Jackie's warrior or the improving now home court advantage of bob's edge? Yeah, I mean, bob sedge has just been tremendous during this Oakland park meet, went off at 7 to one and blew away what I thought was a pretty good feel that his stakes race at the end of January and then returned in the grade three whitmore and basically duplicated the previous race back to back huge efforts for bob's edge. I think those that have listened to this show for a while know, I love Jackie's warrior. I was disappointed by the breeder's cup sprint, but I trust him and I think one turn races because obviously they tried for a brief period of time to make up a two turn horse didn't go so well. I just think that you get Lasix for the first time. You get the four year old debut. You have an excuse last time out. And I think any of the previous three, four efforts from Jackie's warrior win this race. Now, if you're telling me, not fully cranked, they have bigger picture in mind down the line. I believe all of that. I'm just not going to bet against Jackie's warrior. And the funny thing was, I was against Jackie's warrior in the breeders cup. Obviously, I didn't want him to get hurt in the race. I just thought he was a vulnerable favorite at a very short price and got lucky that aloha west got up and beat doctor on the line because I didn't use doctor shovel in the race. I don't dispute the Jackie's warrior is the best horse in this race. I happen to think that the last race bob's edge ran in the whitmore is good enough to be right there, if not beat Jackie's warrior. The problem is, is that bob's edge other than that race has never run a race in my mind that could beat Jackie's warrior. So is this just the new bob's edge or do we expect him to go backwards off what certainly was a fantastic effort last time out? He's had plenty of time between races four weeks since that run in the whitmore. I think there's enough other speed in here, especially with empire of gold looking like he's got to be near the lead as well that maybe bob's edge catches Jackie's warrior at 90% instead of a 100%. And if that happens, I think he has a chance. I'm going to try bob's edge again. I would not single, I would use Jackie's warriors. Well, Dave loves Jackie's warrior. I like bob's edge in a very interesting count fleet sprint race 11 tomorrow at Oak Lawn park. I'm going to head over to Laurel. They've got four stakes on the Saturday card tomorrow at starting with race number 6, about a mile and a 16th on the main track. The Weber city miss, $125,000 on the line. Three year old Phillies here, just a field of 6 in this race and boy, it is going to be hard to beat number 5 Luna bell. I just can't bet Luna bell at three to 5. Winner of four straight races, Maryland bread, who does such terrific things at Laurel. But this is a horse that goes off at a really, really short price. Every single time. And now you're asking to stretch to the longest distance she's ever gone, a mile in the 16th. Now, each of the last several.

"I believe she'll get in for sure. And not only get in, she should be unanimous choice. She should get every single vote. And both of them will get in, eventually, if they don't both get in this time, they're both great, great race mayors and tough things are going to. I think they both get in this time, but the older should be unanimous. How could anybody not vote for her to get in? And, you know, there's other things. Some of the other horses that are on the list and, you know, I've always, there's always been an argument about rags to riches, you know, the feeling that won the Belmont was when she beat kerlin and she had such a short career, people are saying she shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame. I mean, I don't know if I agree with that. I mean, she didn't, in a short period of time, she did an awful lot of good things. And I think eventually she should get in as well. Well, I agree there, but so few Phillies of one classics of any of the digits being yeah, yeah, and Timmy I agree with you there. You also get a vote into the Hall of Fame. And I'm the same way. I actually voted for rags to riches to get in last year. I thought so. Yeah. Yeah, she'll be in there eventually. There's no doubt. How about on the human side? You have trainers Christoph Clement Graham motion and congrats to Graham for making the ballot this year. Doug O'Neill and John sheriffs, plus you have Jackie Cory nakatani, who are among the finalists for this year, which of those individuals is most likely to be inducted if you had to pick a couple. Well, I mean, I think they should all be in, but not get Tony for sure. But not entirely his career is amazing. I don't think you want to Triple Crown race, but he's doing everything else. And he should definitely be in. And I want to train your side and put them all in. They're all my Friends. They all deserve to be in the worker. Graham's a good friend. We had a lot of fun going through history when I went to pregnancy when the Derby we had a good Triple Crown run that year. I'd love to see Graham get in. Well deserved. He's deal. If you were on the committee, there'd be a thousand people in the Hall of Fame. Hey, I'd be putting a lot of more in than they are putting in because I know how hard these people work. Richard hazelton would be at the top of my list to help beard. Even though they didn't win a lot of mistakes, they went thousands of races. You should be in. Yeah, now you look at these trainers. I mean, you look at Doug O'Neill Graham and Christoph Clement. And nothing against John sheriffs. But these three, it's almost like it's a photo finish at the wire with things that they've done. I mean, Kristoff was 11th. I believe in it's 11th in the career earnings. Ram is 15. Doug is 13. The thing that gets me is that they seem to put a lot of emphasis on the Triple Crown races, but this is a career achievement. And I think that Christoph Clement is got 256 graded stakes wins. 34 grade one wins. Yeah, he's won the Belmont once, and he's got his first breeders cup win less last year. But you've told me that Kristoff Clement should be in the Hall of Fame. And I think that Kristoff dog and Graham should all be in the Hall of Fame this year and, you know, Corey nakatani, you know, he's a hard knocking rider in his time. And I believe that there's only one Jackie ahead of him in career earnings in the top 13. It's not in the Hall of Fame. That's Joel Rosario. I think Corey should also be, how about John sheriffs, Timmy? You know, John sheriff's is devoted his life to this game, but I think he's always going to be remembered just for zenyatta. And is that enough to get him in the Hall of Fame? I don't know. I mean, he's obviously a great horseman. But he doesn't have the kind of numbers that these other guys have. You know, sometimes too, it's a bit of a head scratcher as to the people that get in and those that are left out and maybe never get in. A few weeks ago, if you remember we were looking back on Billy Turner, the trainer of Seattle slew after he passed away. And we all said, why isn't Billy Turner in the Hall of Fame? But outside of Seattle slew and Dale, I'll ask you, does Billy Turner have the credentials to get into the Hall of Fame? Should he be a Hall of Famer? He wanted Triple Crown train one of the greatest horses of all time, yes. Yep, that's enough for Dale Romans to put him in. And the other guy that I think should have been on the bells, Barkley tag. I mean, he has had a marvelous career. And I believe he's I think he might be the only trainer that's won each Triple Crown race. It's not in the Hall of Fame..

"A weekend preview edition of the program there is so much. To weekend preview. I feel like normally, you know, you normally we have one card, sometimes two that are kind of the clear standouts, right? In terms of stakes races and well, between San Diego Gulfstream, there's like 15 stakes, right? Like it's like a whole thing. And there's some very important races, key horses, all that kind of stuff. We're going to talk about a lot of that. But also, at turf way, you got the John battaglia, you got Kentucky Derby points. Well, yeah, there's points, right? Coming up for this one, I feel like there's points. Tis the bomb coming off that not great effort last time out in the oh, but yeah, John Batali, there's points. There are points. In fact, there's ten of them, right? Yeah, ten for the winner. Tis the bomb coming back out of that, you know, like I said, not great effort in the holy bull, didn't do didn't do much run. In fact, the comet just says no apparent mishap. It's not a good comment. And, you know, the synthetic preps, obviously, it makes sense for horses who are very good on the turf, and maybe want to get some of that sweet, sweet, Kentucky Derby trail cash. The Gotham's going on, the busher, I'm not kind of excited for the pusher. But Gulf Stream certainly the centerpiece and we'll at least I think it's a centerpiece sanity this card is pretty darn good as well. We'll talk about as much of it as we can. I was kind of torn on last night when I kind of started to sit down and look at these because like I said, it was nice that a few of these tracks drew early because of how many big races there were. It's just nice to have some extra time and because of our new schedule obviously having a lot of time with the PPs is not always going to happen because sometimes they don't draw it till Wednesday evening. But that said, I was trying to think like, well, maybe the best thing to do is just kind of pick one of the cards and really go through it. As opposed to just like, oh, this one's running in this one. This one's running in this one. But I think I'm going to try to talk about the ones I find most interesting, and there will probably be a few races that will gloss over pretty quick. And a few that will spend a little more time on. So that's my plan. And we always, I always like to kind of more of those conversations into a little bit about betting and where I think there might be a vulnerable favorite or a sequence that's potentially good or potentially bad. And we'll talk, like I said, we'll talk about as much of it as we can here on today's show. Do want to make mention the national racing Hall of Fame announced their finalists, so they will vote on who gets into the Hall of Fame. There were 6 horses, four trainers and a jockey core and aquitani was the lone jock. Up for nomination. Christoph Clement Graham motion, Doug O'Neill, John sheriffs. The four trainers. And the horses blind luck halved the grass. Isn't that half the grass? Kona gold rags to riches and tepin. That sounds like 5, one, two, three, four, 5. They said 6 on the press release, I guess, I don't know. I don't have a ton of strong feelings about the Hall of Fame. I've never been. I just, I just don't have a ton of feelings on it. But I thought it was worth mentioning, right? Certainly worth saying. I mean, again, I just, I don't know, I'm so bad about the history of racing and I talked about this recently. It's not where my greatest interests lie. And you know, I know all these horses. I know they're all very good. Teppa and I got to think going over to Europe and she's probably got to make it, right? But then I see like Clement and Graham motion. I'm like, well, they kind of got to make it. Jon sheriff did, you know, I mean, she was pretty good. Giacomo, he won the Derby. So maybe he should get in too. I don't know. I figured it was something that should talk about. But like I said, I don't have, I don't have strong feelings when it comes to Hall of Fame stuff. And really kind of with any sport. I'm not a huge Hall of Fame but I will say I was happy when Edgar Martinez got into the baseball Hall of Fame, only just because I loved Edgar as a kid. It was a lot of nostalgia stuff. We talked yesterday about the race at Gulfstream, the fountain of youth and obviously it changes greatly because it was announced was going to scratch. They said they had a fever. I saw the news and my immediate reaction was, yeah, he's got the 12 post fever. Ha ha ha, right? Because he drew that bad outside post. And then I clicked on whoever I think it was Jay privin, maybe that announced it. Or broke the news or whatever. And the first 6 replies were all that he had 12 post fever. I felt so lame. Like I thought I was funny, and it turns out I'm not funny because all the rest of these guys had the same exact thought. And none of them are funny. Trust me, I know. And so yeah, I felt like not funny person. But it certainly changed the race. I maintain I'm most excited about Emmanuel in that race. And that doesn't necessarily change. Like I said, that even if okay, so they said they came down with a little spiked a little fever. They said he's going to reroute to the wood memorial. There was part of me when I saw it 'cause he's nominated for the Tampa Bay Derby partner. He's like, oh, he's coming across state. But it sounds like if there is something wrong, I don't think you want to miss a couple of days and then come right back a week later. So it sounds to me as though there was something he spiked the temperature, whatever. And they're going to wait and try their luck in the wood memorial. So obviously that race shakes up a little bit. I want to talk about a few of the other races on the Gulf Stream Saturday. Now, the card starts as often as the case, right? It doesn't start with stakes races. You got a little starter optional race on the dirt. Early on. And they haven't seen them. It's weird. They do the morning line for a few of the stakes racing. I don't know if Pete just goes race by race and like plugs it in or if they just do the stakes ones in advance, but I thought the first race was kind of a wide open type race. And so I started looking at the second race and okay, it's a maiden special weight, which on a big day is going to be loaded with huge potential type horses. Chad brown's got a first or for who looks very, very good. Silver leaf for Kenny mcpeek is a nice horse. I mean, you start going through here and it's like, okay, there's some potential runners in here. The third race, the stakes action starts, and it's the Canadian turf and you get a huge favorite in here. Four to 5 on the morning line for never surprised it was second in the Pegasus World Cup turf beaten by colonel Liam.

"Bobby Newman and James Scully on the Thursday edition of the briss net dot com call in show first Thursday since the Thanksgiving holiday and before we went to break James, I asked you what I think is a difficult question. And I don't want to put you too much on the spot, but it seems to me with the purses growing exponentially almost everywhere. Whether it be places like Churchill downs at Oakland park, the purses are massive at aqueduct during the wintertime. They're decent at Gulfstream, they're decent at fairgrounds. Tampa Bay downs is kind of lagging behind. And they have great weather. Arguably the best weather in the country that time of year certainly right there with Gulfstream park. They've got dirt racing. They've got turf racing. They've got phenomenal weather all winter. Their purses for a lack of a better term stink compared to everybody else's. And I'm wondering if they're far enough their purses are falling far enough behind some of their competition, especially considering Oak Lawn park is starting 6 weeks early and is really not that far away. If this is when the quality drops off a bit, the other choices are looking rosier in rosier with the bigger purses. Well, you might disagree with my take on this, Bobby, you know, you know, a lot about the South Florida racing. But my thought is, this is a phenomenon that they've always had. I understand what you're saying about the person's continue to rise, but I think there's been a there was like an influx of like casino money and other big purse money and years in the last decade. And one thing I'll say about Tampa Bay downs. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I think when super saver came along and won the Tampa Bay Derby in 2010, did that track really? It's reputation like sort of began to change a little bit. Because I thought I always thought it had like a little bit of a reputation of being like a cheaper track and I've always been like there's a lot of like mid Atlantic courses Midwest horses that are gonna win are there. And one of the peels that the track though does have to horsemen that might be a base hit Gulf Stream or a different training facilities like put your Chad Brown Kristoff come on is that they run all these turf races and dirt races at two different two distances. And sometimes they can just get their horses a race there and they don't mind shipping them in and running them in like a two turn made on the turf or on the dirt. Especially on their big stakes days, do you think I'm off course there? No, I think everything you've said makes a lot of sense. And I agree that super saver kind of helped them turn the corner as far as public perception. But what I'm talking about and I still think they're going to get good horses for those days for the Tampa Bay down for the Tampa Bay Derby for the Sam F Davis and for all the supporting stakes that they have on those days, there's usually several it's a multi stake day, both of those big cards. And I think the pleasures and the browns and whoever else and the mots are still going to support them and Mark Cassie, like they always do. It may not always be with the number one horse in their barn at that specific distance or age range, but I think they're going to send good ones. What I'm talking about is more on a daily overnight level. We've seen a lot of it through the last several years. It's not uncommon to see Chad Brown running maidens on the turf at Tampa Bay downs. Christoph Clement running maidens on the turf at Tampa Bay downs. Todd pletcher, Bill Mott running horses at Tampa Bay downs. Jonathan Thomas does it a lot. Guys that are more associated maybe with South Florida than they are at Tampa. And my question is whether somewhere along the line, not every owner is somebody that doesn't care about money. And that's the dumbest thing that's ever come out of my mouth, but I said it and it is what it is. The difference between let's just say it this way. The difference between running for a $27,000 purse there and a $97,000 per somewhere else is a pretty big difference. You know, it's not like, well, you know, in the end, if we win, and we get this, it's probably only costing us three or 4000. No. I mean, this is two, three, sometimes four times the money depending on where you're willing to travel. Gulfstream part doesn't have the monstrous purses that Oak Lawn and aqueduct will in the winter time. But still, there's significantly more fair grounds is not that far away. And if they have decent weather, they have turf racing there too, and their purses are basically twice what they are at Tampa Bay downs. I'm just wondering if the big names and the big barns send their quote unquote good horses there for these non steak races as much as they used to. Yeah, that's a fair point. And like I said, I saw where. Turfway park, at least they put out a press release for the holiday meat, which is like 18 or days or something, it runs to December 31st. But they're made special weight races, Bobby, are worth 62,000. And they're allowances range from 63 to 68. So, you know, their purses are up. They didn't need to be running $62,000 allowances there. And I'll give you an example. We had, I'm part of a partnership, and we had a horse claimed for $20,000 at Churchill. He won. And it was like, that race had like a 50 $5000 purse. I mean, it was ridiculous. How big the person was and it's, you know, we're happy for it. Glad for it. But you're right. I mean, you would think Tampa Bay. I mean, their purses are just not going up at all year to year. And I think there was like a rob renaissance there where like a few years ago, there were some barns that were sending like divisions there and you know to give it a go for the winner and it seemed like it's just interesting that they haven't been able to race their purses. I don't know why that is. And this is the first time that I've actually seen in print people coming out and really mentioning it. Mike Stidham, most nobly said that he can't afford to run at Tampa Bay downs with the purse is the way they are there compared to everyone else. And it's not that he would necessarily base a Tampa Bay downs. He just he's just saying it makes no financial sense for him to do it just to get a little bit nicer weather. Yeah, Ian Wilkes. He's a guy that's had horses there. And yeah, that's amazing. You know, you look at both those guys, those guys have had horses that ran in the Derby that were stable on a Tampa Bay downs, like over the winter. And we're like contenders. Ian Wilkes had mccracken and Stidham had win, win, win. Is that right? So yeah, it's like, yeah, you're right. If those guys bail out on them, it's going to be more like just they're going to be having to try to reach out and get Barnes from my cheaper and cheaper.

So I don't know if that's like a theme for him. So I'm just trying to see on the top of my head if that's a theme in terms of his I don't think so. He's just plenty of other horses. I mean, he does have a horse got miss cow, which is obviously drinks based name. But aside from that, I don't think so. I mean, look, we were talking about her before. She has impeccable breeding, right? White heart, half sister to epsom, Derby, Victor, portnoy, guys, no promo really well, inside another Derby winner himself. And then that race she came out of, I thought that was a terrific experience for her because she didn't have an easy race and when we talk about juveniles, she also you want to see them learn something in their races, right? You want to see them have a certain experience that next time out, if they had some kickback in their face from the grass or they had to go through a tight gap next time out they're not afraid to do so and that could get you to win and Peter Bianca. That's what she did in the British juvenile Philly's when I saw it in a town much. She had to spit horses. There was a bit of bumping around. And then in the brisk juvenile 50s with Jose aarti, she wasn't afraid to take that gap. She wasn't afraid to go for it. And just terrific turning foot as well. So I was incredibly impressed. And of course, for Christoph cremon, after rough number, before coming into this British cop, he had had 40 starters, no wins, 6 seconds, now to have that first British cup winner on board is just, you know, I'm over the moon for the team. Well, I'm over the moon for you because you could not have been more confident about this or she was the only horse you mentioned. You didn't want to know about anything else in the rest of the PC banker. Pizza Bianca. That's it. Pizza Bianca. And you were full of confidence. And if only I'd listen to New York for any other listen to the wrong bloody one. It was Peter Taylor listen to damn it. But you were incredibly bullish about this horse. And lots of final frontal podcast listeners followed you in. And the horse was also it was being ignored in terms of the form that the source had shown. So had been second to wild beauty, Charlie Applebee's horse. The time before that, in Canada. And that form was just being seemingly completely ignored. And hence the price is pretty much 20s. And when a winner chicken dinner for Naomi Tucker, full credit here, I about your superior knowledge of the form book when it comes to basically form book in general, but particularly the form book in American racing. This was sensational stuff and you deserve an awful lot of credit for finding her. Thank you. No, I'm glad she made it happen. Like I said, you know, Bobby Flay is a great supporter of the game. So it's always good to get these wins on board for owners that, you know, I've put a lot back into it and Christopher Clement. You know, terrific performance getting that Philly ready, of course, Jose Ortiz, I mean, he turned it to perfection, right? I think on Twitter for everyone interested, you can find back that he wore the jockey cam. So you can literally ride with him as he pulls that gap and gets through. I mean, it looks great. So do you all mean to go online and have a look? I think my productions were in charge of that. It's like he's riding a motorbike, like the term. Amazing. It really is a balance. But who is the production company in charge of that? Who was in charge of production? I think equine production Nathan hallux. Fair play to them because that was gold. It was absolutely gold. But you're a 100% right, Lucy. It was like it was like he was on a motorbike, but also a motorbike where they had gone way too fast up front and all the engines just burnt out in the other motorbikes and everything was coming back. Because this was they went way too fast. And so it was no surprise that you end up with a couple of deep closers finishing one and two. What does you make of pizza Bianca? Yeah, well, as you say, I think the gaps opened for her, didn't they? Luckily in the home straight because she was behind a wall of horses. But very, very impressive in the home straight. And that turn a foot off the bend. Well, to get to her position from where she was to then her turn towards the end, was really impressive. I thought, I think her form was probably overlooked, as you said, I think, well, beauty, I think because she had that disappointing, obviously she won and woken, but then she had that disappointing run at new market since then. Yeah, I think everybody sort of ignored the form, then perhaps. But no, I thought she was well, again, fantastic ride from Jose Ortiz drawn stall one. I thought he jumped out and he's going to have the rail the whole way and be up there, but he kind of did lose his position. I think as you said I met the pace was just very honest. And he just lost his position and then he was having to make up so much ground, but the way she's just flown and obviously the gap's open for her, yeah, very impressive. So the prize money is obviously insane in America. But would they be tempted at all given the poor Mars in the pedigree? Would Christophe Clement be the type of man who would be tempted and Bobby Flay be the type of individual who be tempted to go? Oaks. Let's go. A set to epsom. Either epsom or kura. I'll ask you, first of all, do you want to see an American with this pedigree come over? Yeah, awesome to say. I don't know Christoph Clement, as well as Naomi probably. So I can't really comment, but it would be amazing to see an American horse take its chance wouldn't it? We almost had one. And then the disaster stroke was a Kenny peak was going to have a runner and he took it all really well. It was an absolute disaster in the end..
