"Before the break we were talking about so jeeze adventures on the board reclamation cube that the Romney linzer running so at this point. We know that. So Jianhe you are going to see Rhonda a former Borg drone who is also Romulo. So as they walk into this area. You can see that. It is protected by guards and a four shield as well and that they are very much keeping them in there before shield us. Keep the expert drones kind of contained but they also are just mostly milling about in their their barely. Functional it kind of gives you the impression of a psych ward. That's portrayed on screen where a lot of folks are very much non responsive so in that way we can see that. There's there's not a lot going on here but comparatively Rhonda is a little bit higher functioning. She's playing with some type of toy or like a card system. It looks a little bit like Tarot but they are triangle shaped and it tends to form a hexagonal pattern. If I'm correctly recalling that as she builds it out so I really like that system that they have made for that and how it also reminds me of the board cube themselves how all those pieces are fitting together to make a greater whole from the sum of its parts so when she is looking at that so T- sits down and starts talking to her and tries to speak with her in her native language as well to establish more of a connection and so JI says that the Rhonda and the other exports may be partaking in a shared narrative framework for understanding their trauma rooted in deep architects but as relevant as the day's news so she refers to it as the news which I feel we may see that repeated further down the line as we get through the rest of this season so she's trying to process this information but Rhonda's suddenly kind of snaps a little bit so she's still doing the Tarot while so g is talking to her and explaining her ideas and concepts of what she's getting from Rhonda to Hugh who's standing by watching but he was not trained in anthropology the same way that so g is so she's letting him know what she's finding especially since he is also over her and since he is the head of the board program he is able to give her permission to be in there but he still was ranked quite a bit higher than her so she would have to report it to him anyway. So she's telling him in real time. And so Jesus like okay. So it's like the news but it's also you know the shared Borg Framework. So that's really helpful for them so there still may be somewhat connected even though we've taken out a lot of their implants so she starts the process this and then Rhonda snaps a little bit and start freaking out. And she's I remember you from tomorrow and so do you like what is happening and starts asking these crazy questions. That are a little vague too. So she's like which sister are you are you the one who is or you're the one who lives. And we see on the board that age where she is placed that final piece right in the middle. That triangle is a small piece that has to women on it. And it looks like they're kind of almost back to back away with symbolic of like sisters or twins made me think of like Geminis as well and so that made me think of legacies. And the Jimmy Coven as well but also just in general like the symbol for the Gemini for you know just thinking about astrology and stuff in general so in that regard. She's like what is happening. We know that so. Ji was aware of being a sister as well. So it's a little bit jarring for her and then Rhonda pools firearm and everything goes kinda sideways for a second. But it's because one of the guards come in there with their firearm on them and so he was like hey. This is not Rhonda's fault. This is on the person who brought that in here and they need to be reprimanded because they should know better and make sure the rest of you. Do Not have your firearms on you in here. These people are not stable so I really like that that indicates to us where Hughes head is in the game and he is kind of meeting them at their level. He understands that they're having a hard time also because he was an expert and I think that type of inclusivity is very important in general. But I like that. We're seeing it. Mirrored on Star Trek. A little bit surprised that the Romney ones are the ones modeling that but it's just as pragmatic as it is inclusive so the Romulus are not allowing you to do this because of any type of inclusivity interests but rather because he would understand better than anyone else he would be an expert in this and they understand that even if they aren't necessarily on board with how much compassion he has towards them so I like seeing Matt and seeing that there are pragmatic reasons to do things and not to do things very similarly to how John McCain and General Mattis took their approaches to understanding torture so both John McCain and General Mattis were against torture but John McCain was against it for moral reasons because he had also experienced it whereas general mattis was against it because it was not practical they did a scientific study on it and found empirically. That torture does not get you. Actual factual answers at a certain point. People will say anything to you to get you to stop torturing them so they may be telling you the truth or they just be admitting to things to get the pain to stop so at that point that is really reminiscent to me as to how the Romney Lynn's verse says Hugh kind of view this but in this case the Romulus are just being pragmatic about it like general mattis and he was like. Hey I've I've been there morally. We have to treat them a certain way and fortunately they're just at the point where they both agreed. That Hugh is the expert on this and although you can tell they don't want to let him in Saudi through and he has to assert his dominance me like. Hey I am the head of this project so I get to come through here. Step aside and he doesn't even care that they're carrying disruptors and that Romulo disruptors don't have stunned settings he is just like. Hey let me through you. I was part of the Borg collective. You guys are jerks. But you can't really scare me so I really respect how we get to see. Who Hugh is at this point and that he maintains his perspective even in really tense situations so hugh at this point and so she ended up leaving that area and we go back to Earth and we see that Picard is at his vineyard and he and the two folks he lives with end up getting ambushed by the Josh. So remember the wash the same as the tell she are as far as picardy. Them are concerned right now and it gets really hard court. I love how the scene plays out. You should definitely watch it. It is visually so interesting. It tells us a lot about the characters and where they are now where they're showing US pick cards physique and what he's capable capable of at this point and how he handles a weapon versus his physicality in hand to hand combat. We're learning a lot about what is going on with him and his health and I like that he gets to be an old man and you really get to see how his age is affecting him. I think a lot of times. We just expect older characters. Still be tough and everything in the exact same way that we would younger characters and so we either don't see older action stars or they. Aren't that realistic. But I like. How Picard really approaches that as this show so the wash or in the battle with them and Dr Giradi POPs in Agnes and she's like freaking out. She accidentally kills Romulo on at that point because she didn't know there wasn't a stunt setting but we see that they try to talk to the Josh about what's going on. They try to interrogate him and he kills himself with that acid that we had seen happen to dash when someone. Romulus spit on her. Now if those two halves of the story are going to come together it will be somewhere down the line in the rest of the show and I'm really excited to see what they do with that so it looks like at this point. They've decided they're going to need a starship in a pilot and before Roffe Topa card you know. Get off my lawn. She also I will have a pilot reach out to you and so she did. She does get him a pilot and we meet him in the form of Christobal Chris. Rea's played by Santiago Cabrera and I loved him immediately. We're going to go on a quick break and when we come back. "The the impact of technology is prompting businesses to rethink everything from marketing to customer service. But what does the business landscape of the future actually look like find out when we return to the transformation minute from comcast business. This is your techniques breathing for Tuesday December. KNBR THIRTY I. I'm Qatari. Yokum from the Wall Street Journal in New York. It's New Year's Eve and here in the New York Bureau of the Wall Street Journal. We're just blocks away from the spectacle in the city city and from one of the most iconic parts of the celebration the Times Square ball the ball that drops at midnight to celebrate this momentous occasion in our Jr Waylon is going to take us behind the scenes and behind the technology that makes that ball drop. That's coming up after the break. Welcome back to the transformation minute from comcast business. How will the business landscape of the future look different from where we are today? We have to need hasty as VP of comcast business. There's been a major paradigm shift across all industries in banking expect to see virtual financial experts for financial consulting planning. They'll be communicating with with their customers via video at the same time. Authentication will likely evolved to use biometrics. Passwords may actually become a thing of the past. Aw at New Year's Eve parties around the world this evening you'll be handed a glass of champagne. You'll be wished well in the New Year and what makes it's the evening complete is seeing the ball drop atop Times Square. Who Better to talk to is the man behind the ball in Times Square? Tom Brennan of Waterford Crystal Tom. Thanks for being with us. How long does it take every year to get the ball? Ready for the drop on New Year's Eve is there is such a team of people behind us. We've got the marketeers. We've got the craftsman back in Ireland or the European facilities a glass door but actually make this actually designed this and it is an annual collaboration. Really never stops what happens right now. We're getting ready for the big the big buildup for Times Square. The ball drops each year. It is the most watch brown on the planet for that moment in Time New Year's eve and then we basically start the process. All over we take a day or two off we regroup. We start all over so it was an annual process. It never ever stops each one of those Waterford Crystal Triangles on the ball. Are they handcrafted. Yes I was twelve thousand pounds in weight with this two thousand six hundred and eight crystal panels and there are an element of handcraft with with the technology the technology but yet we have backing award from a European facility so it is quite a process to get this perfect speaking of technology. It's the light show on the ball that's made it so unique in the past couple of years it is a remarkable feat. What really is? This is the seventh incarnation of Times Square Ball. Drop so basically back in one thousand nine hundred were the first celebration in New York back in. Nineteen O oh seven was the actual force ball. Drop what we're looking at here. Today is the seventh incarnation but we work with brought this to life is back in two thousand and seven with the basically the technology the led was we wrote to bring award for Christa. Basically your life because once. You're looking at twenty six hundred or so Waterford Crystal triangles behind that you've got thirty two thousand. He's generating over sixteen million light parents. So you're right in your assumption really has brought to life in the last number of years. It's quite a bit of electricity. It's I think the electric bill could be a little bit high in January anyway. But let's worry about it then right so as far as Waterford Crystal goes is. Is this the most ambitious technology project every year it is. I mean we are part of just give you a little background about us so when you think of what everything that Waterford Crystal is associated with with celebration with success celebrating presenting God trophies to atheletes elites in various tournaments around the world for really what you're looking at right. Here is our crowning jewel that encompasses everything that water for the supposed to be because it really is a celebration eleboration of our success. We are an Irish heritage brand dating back two hundred and thirty six years but this is the pinnacle of our action. Look no doubt about that a piece of crystal like this with its history and its stature requires a lot of care when it goes up the pole down the pole at midnight. How does that happen? Basically there is a machine behind. Hi this is like the wizard of Oz is a huge hydraulic power system. That basically drives. That's remember the way that is six tons in weight and six tons in weight going up the way not coming down the way so you can feel the cables here all around us that Dr Dot Technology some six tons of weight is about twelve thousand pounds. So it's quite a feat of engineering to make that go up and then come back down as the ball drops. I mean when you think about it. We can't get this wrong. We've got one point. Two billion people watching this we have to get it right but it is about the celebration. It is about the moment moment. That's what it's all about for me and for Waterford from my vantage point on watching television every year. It seems like it's perfect every year. It is because I can tell you right now. That the testing of everything. Everything is meticulous. It goes on for months and months obviously this afternoon testing the hydraulics. Were not testing the hydraulics for testing the lighting's daily behind behind testing on the sequencing to make sure that everything goes in perfect unison. So even right now as we're talking in this people around testing when I'm behind the scenes because this is something that we have to get perfect every time. Tell me about the small piece of space. We are on the top of this building up with the ball right here. Being watched by more than a billion people says a lot about a unity in the world it is. I mean it is I. I'm glad you said that because when you think of what happens to our calendar year one moment that everybody stops for a second is New Year's Eve because what happens is when new Ziv starts when the countdown begins in the New Year comes in tomorrow where you're on the world no matter what time difference that you're in you're celebrating with your loved ones you pull your loved ones close. Give them a kiss. You give them a hug. You're making New Year's resolution you decide to do something you say. I'm going to go to the gym. I go on vacation. You start something new. And that's what new New Year's Eve is. It's it's a new. It's a new page the next day but this year is very different because it not just a new year to brand new decade thinking about that. That's very unique. The average person lives to be eighty nine hundred years of age. We only see eight or nine decades in our lifetime so the first of January. This is a very unique time. We're hoping that everybody can take that message of goodwill This year and just bring it forward make it happen and look for the good in every situation because there's always good there sometimes. We don't always see what happens to the crystals after January first basically the time uh-huh scoreboard behind. This never comes in that stays out all whether there's no you know what the searing heat can be like New York in the summertime. It can be up to one hundred one hundred and five hundred ten degrees. You know what in the wintertime it can be negative authority in more. The christobal never gets covered crystal. Never gets taken into what you're seeing right there that will that will give you an idea of the strength of Krista of how doable and how useful it is because it stays out all year round. It's not always in. Its position right now. In his resting position we call it but we never take it in. We never cover it up all right. That's Tom Brennan of Waterford for crystal joining us. Tom Thanks for coming on the show. Thanks for having me guys anytime. And that was your techniques briefing. Im Qatari Yoga Street Journal. Quick note we won't be on the air tomorrow but we'll be back on Thursday. Thanks for listening and happy New Year..

"Could probably do even better. So if this is in fact fact last game he's GonNa put on tape before for the NFL scouts. He would definitely Definitely benefit for having a big game against the see top twenty boise state team all right. Let's get to our interviewed now. We're pleased to be joined by our guest. Today he is Mario Cristobal Christobal coming off a hot twelve title and also once again. His class made a big splash on signing day. Especially going into California California getting the best player in guy. A lot of people think he's the best linebacker out of the west coast in over a decade that's just in flow And joining us as Mario Cristobal Maria. Thanks for coming on the audible today. Appreciate you guys have me all right. So let's let's start with with with Justin flow. You also get Noah's will a lot of people think is probably the those are the two best linebackers in this whole recruiting class. You added to a defense last year. You got cave onto. But oh the top D. Lineman in that recruiting class. I mean you obviously played and coached at Miami Huron Nick Sabin staff at Alabama around a lot of lot of teams. What do you think you built now in terms of the it's just the personnel on defense as it relates to having a real shot to be a team that can win a national title? Well you know. It's been a huge goal from from the beginning to ourselves as a physically imposing team at all levels. Making sure at the line of scrimmage could not get back in control that line of scrimmage making shuttle Linebacker Linebacker knockback tacklers guys complain space but could dump it up inside and guys on the back end. That are very versatile to play man coverage press and off and also I on enough to to play nickel to play center fuel in. Play off the Hashes and we felt That we really kind of got the final pieces to be able to do that with our defense and especially the rights of Avalos and coach Hayward and then You know Salvia and Wilson Dante Williams. I mean I felt like those pieces came in a place. And saying what about the offense of side so just really pleased with the progress of the program but also knowing that what we want to get to we gotta keep foot on the gas. I'm curious when you recruit kids now. I mean. Obviously this is your program now. It's a much different Oregon program than it was Under chip Kelly Marquel Alfred generally tagger. But are these kids. who were you know? Seventeen eighteen years old lake. Do they deserve awareness of Oregon. Go back to those teen like do they think of organ to they still think of the Michael James and Marcus Mariota or is this mostly about which you've established there In your in your first couple the years oh I think they all remember those days. I mean that's not too far back. Nine Oregon's playing in a title four years ago five years ago And so they know all those guys they played with him on the. You know those computer games a lot of these guys who are members of the IEP ducks when they were coming up in southern California. So that's wrong and I think they also see So many great players come in this way and so many of these players are having incident packed. You know it's It's like the player development that we Success we're having with Clare Development shows on shows up on Game Day and In so many different ways you know we're in the coliseum him and all of a sudden McKell rights taken kickoff. Back one hundred yards for a touchdown you know. We're in the in the championship game and may soon cave on typically orders Rican havoc the opponents quarterback and living in the backfield. So again it could examples go on and on and on so I think it's a testament to both things history and also talk. Let me read something to you this from my colleague Matt Liner. I was the heisman trophy winning quarterback. USC This is what he tweeted not long. After the Justin flow announcement Oregon is the new. USC In recruiting on the West Coast back in my day. No one dared to recruit so cal. Now it's open season and Oregon against hunting exclamation point all right. You mentioned a couple of those kids who are southern California kids were already were already having success in the beginnings of their career. They're there no one and I would argue has benefited more from USC. Being down the Oregon ducks so you come in here. You guys talk to these kids you talk to. Their parents should talk to their coaches What is the dynamic like for for what you're able to sell but also Maybe divide you get from kids as it relates to being open to feeling like. Hey I grew up as USC fan. But I wanna go somewhere else now. Well I I mean first and foremost tremendous amount of respect for for Matt and certainly USC program as well as I think the the High School coaching in California the West Coast and then of course we spent so much time in southern California. I think that's the league coach. That's going on there and the population itself. Just it's GonNa dictate the fact that there's GonNa they're going to be great players I mean by the truckload down there so we've invested heavily in there and you know a lot of those guys they they wanna that'd be at a place that's completely. I mean utterly and completely devoted an invest in the student athletes. That's far enough away from home so we're going away for for your college. Today's but close enough to hop on a quick slider. Just drive back home and be able to spend time around family and that's what that's being provided for them and now you know in our second a year we've been here now two years together All that is validated with a conference championship. You know a A rose bowl berth and really close to even reach higher levels in short amount of time. So I think all those things combined with the fact that I our players truly love being here like they the amount of time that they spend together the activities is and professional development opportunities. We provide for them has created a place in the culture that we believe is second none so the players themselves sell it to their former teammates. It's back home and it just seems now I think we if I'm not mistaken we'll have fifty lawyers from California on our roster by the end of By the end of this recruiting cycle. which is it's just kind of you know selling itself will you guys are certainly getting your share of the top players in California If you look at the list you know this is the the two four seven seven list of the top recruits. I mean not a lot of other PAC twelve teams necessarily having that success right. Now you look and you see the Alabama logo the Clemson logo the Georgia logo the Ohio State logo In much has been made obviously the the PAC twelve missing the playoffs several years in a row What is the conference? After due to kind of get back to the days as when kids in California wanted to wanted to stay west. Not necessarily you know. Go across the country to feel like they've got a shot at contending. Well I think we're providing that for them you know. I think it starts with what you bring in. What's your administration doing? I mean to me. Look at the the financials right a beach institution and when you look at Oregon Oregon's wanted out of water in terms of facilities resources investment of the student athlete and then the administration and again. It's you know what I mean when you're when you're eighty serves as a chair of the CFPB committee right it Kinda. It speaks volumes of the level of professionalism. Awesome that's in the building and the commitment to it so Vignette coaching staff and a regiment that really brings a blueprint that has been proven over long periods of time and again a lot of it of course we took from Alabama's and during the real you know the old days at Miami back in the eighties and nineties under Jimmy Johnson and Dennis Erickson. And and you bring all these awesome coaches and they bring in this these this caliber of athletes. Here all of a sudden you're you're scratching your knock on the door of the College Football playoff in win your conference with a young football team. I think that right there is speaking volumes of the direction of it. And that's what's going to help us and in turn the conference take the next step up and becoming a more prominent fixture in the top ten top five teams in the country. You're in you're out having coached in the in the south in the deep South and basically on top OPPA college football In the past there's been a lot of people who said look there's just not enough big people on the West Coast and they point to that as a reason why by the PAC twelve has really struggled. What do you make of that about as if there's just not enough players on the West Coast to produce a national national championship caliber team? I disagree with that I disagree completely. No it's been done before and you know we feel like we're we're we're progressing towards a goal of being You know in that conversation. You're in an ear out and you know if if for whatever if it's down near in your area will you gotta go find them wherever they're at right right. I mean I You know I coach and all these conferences and I feel like we came out this way and all of a sudden you know the outland trophy winner comes from the University of Oregon. Right Right Joe more finalists. Is You know you know. LSU won today. Congratulations to them But we're again are often to line was in that that final title four well. So that blueprint is being you know has become a reality out here and I look a lot of teams down south becoming more spread light and open satish right. I mean it's starting to get more athletes on the field. Spread it out and come bless you know knock you back Mash. Up at the line of scrimmage and so forth so I think this is moving west in a hurry. I think some of the happenings of yesterday's signing date shows that in terms of what we're doing so I mean this thing that the college the football landscape is changing. I believe in our favor and we're going to keep pressing and keeping our foot on the gas until we achieve the level that we're trying to get to having said that the house. How much more difficult would that be if USC was still kind of running at the level maybe it was under the P carroll days where USC was the team that a lot of people looked at us like the powerhouse on the West Coast? It's clearly not been that is not a knock on Clay Hill. It's not but it's that's a reality now. I mean can you have both of those Going or obviously it's made it easier for you to do this but like is it possible to have both if USC is operating operating as a top five program. Well I I just think that. That's a you know a great pro a story program. So I think recruiting I think every year. It's difficult difficult. And I. I remember being at going and it's hard to get players and then I remember being Alabama going man. It's hard to get players so it's every single year signing day and Eddie approaches. You find yourself saying man it. It still is hard. It's so difficult because it's got to be one of the most competitive industries in the country. Right I mean in the NFL NFL. You sit back and your draft there. That's those are the rules in college. Football you gotta go out and you got to you know prove yourself and recruiting and bring home the right calibre caliber of human being sued athletes. So I don't I really don't judge programs and and were some people might perceive they are they. Are I think all these programs TMZ are excellent. I think they all have great things to sell our. We have a very Strict policy with our guys. We don't negative recruit and and we tell our I asked someone negative recruits against you. Don't complain about it. Don't make a big deal about it. Just continue to sell your program and just go to work and I think because of that I think again the I I think. It's just gonNA keep progressing but I don't. I don't see anything being helped or hurt by you. Know the status of any program. Well we want to even though this was a signing heavy interview we want before you go we want to ask you about the Rose Bowl Obviously huge matchup against Wisconsin -sconsin first of all I have you coached in a row before I have never ever coach or mentor Rose Bowl so like the excitement over here is through the roof. It's like one of gratitude one of hey we earned this thing. What an opportunity? These seniors went four and eight. You know the year that we got here the previous year they had gone for ornate. And these guys is I mean. Come on man in and you know who sent me. It's our our regiment in our structures demanding. Now it's about as subtle as a body body slam right now. This is the you have to buy into a yet to work at it and they did all of a sudden they're going to the Rose Bowl and But the goal has to be more than just getting their on our guys understand that and and to achieve our goal rather we gotta be at our best because Wisconsin is an excellent football team. That is very talented very disappointed. Very tough so sue. The excitement around here is crazy. Right now I mean first of all you're GONNA get the chills the first.

"Made to rise above the rest. Learn more at goodyear dot com goodyear more driven ribbon. Now back to the show at. It's good to have college football national recruiting coordinator. Craig Halberg joining us here on the podcast. Craig up by the end of this week. Do you think we'll have the number one recruiting class Kevin. What has been interesting about this? Two Thousand Twenty cycle is. I don't remember since since I've been doing this since two thousand and five. There's ever been a more competitive race for the number one overall class as we go into early signing period you can make a case for five different programs either not by the end of this week then by February and the National Signing Day that first Wednesday in February having the number one overall plus you five teams teams currently kind of in the hunt. I think we're GONNA come out of this early signing period likely clemson having been one overall. They've got a really top heavy class. Three five stars really doing a nice job along the defensive line. They're still in the mix were quite a few players including five stars like linebacker justed. Well the defensive a and out of South Carolina Jordan Birch versus still some pieces. There for Clemson. You can never count on Alabama usually a fixture. There knows I we spot there one program. That still has a lot out there over the next few days at some pieces the see if they can hold onto that number one spot and then the other team Lsu obviously coming coming off an outstanding year when it. Oh John got that job. Everybody knew that he would go in there and recruit well. They were just wondering how he would do as a head coach with onfield production and now he's on the recruiting trail marrying not only his ability as a recruiter but also great success on the football field. And that's going to be really tough for them to stop there another program in the mixture guy like Jordan Birch vibe outside linebacker Philip Webb. So there another program that can make a jump here in the next few days you mentioned three of the five or the other other two teams you think that could That could win this thing out. The other one is Ohio. State currently have the number one player in the nation committed. That's wide receiver. Julian Fleming out had a Pennsylvania They're doing a really nice job. There in the mix for one of the top remaining quarterbacks in an eight out of California CJ Stroud so there. I think it'd be a little bit tougher. Them what they certainly have a chance. And then Georgia Georgia's one city. They're number five. Were there were there. In the mix for several players things could really get interesting over the next few Weeks for them. Probably I I look at the boards for the teams in the top five with the most to gain in terms of volume and it might be Alabama and Georgia. Georgia may be a little bit of a delayed reaction because there are some players that they are seem to be the favourite for Kevin that may not publicly announced until after the early signing period. Kinda during that all American bowl stretch so they may wait so they may be a little bit of a delayed reaction during the market for quite a few top rated corners And defensive back and they're also in the mix there one of the top tight ends in the nation darnold Washington Annaba Las Vegas so I think Georgia's kind of one back. Maybe a little bit too far out to get the number one. What could certainly push back up? Okay which teams outside the top five could make a move and I'm saying let's just talk about teams in the top twenty that you think could make a big big push by the end of the week. I think the thing wanted to watch. The PAC twelve is kind of struggling a bit. But there's two teams teams that are running away with it at Oregon and Washington for me. I think that one of the programs to watch is Oregon. I was just talking about Justin flow He's a player. That had ed kind of for a long time been rumored To be a heavy lean towards clemson. But now that as we're getting towards the stretch here for the start of the early signing period on Wednesday and just emplo we'll be announcing during the ESPN coverage. He now seems to be a strong lean towards Oregon. I so for the ducks a year ago. To go into California and get Calvin Sibito the defensive end potentially now go back to California again and get the number one rated linebacker justin flow. That's looking really good. You get an impact. Jack type defender like him. I can really help you boost up towards the top ten and they also had one of the top remaining quarterbacks on visit this past weekend Robbie Asterix he's at a Hoover Hoover High School in Alabama with a long time oldness commitment with the switch there in the coaching staff. He decommitted was just on an official visit so he could add some more deaths. I think or. He's watching team to watch. And the other one is Tennessee. They were program who a year ago really close stronger recruiting trail at February period. Jump right to the customer top top hand. I think that they're not gonNa have quite the same impact in terms of the big names. But I think there's a lot out there for them if you're a member. She's got really really rough there for Tennessee And September but they were able to close with a string of wins the head out in the recruiting trail and I see them adding three or four quality. Kind of four-star. Dr Prospect that are classified probably buckled up a little bit more towards the top fifty. Let's get back to the Oregon question because again you know we lose on earlier and we talked a little bit about Mario Christobal and how he he went to. He went to southern California and he basically took sibito right outside the USC backyard. And if he gets you know so the player you're talking about here at you know in the next couple of days. What is Cristobal doing so well when it comes to recruiting these guys? I think think it's a blend of things Kevin you know I had one PAC twelve Personnel Person. Tell me when they were talking about Mary Crystal. They said he's relentless it's like the guy doesn't sleep sleep It he may be one of the Top and probably one of the hardest working recruiting head coaches all the college football so you got a guy who had a reputation and is a very strong recruiter as put together a good staff for that and then you just go back to what organ been able to do slowly over the year from Wadi. Mike Lottie to Chip Kelly had a little bit of a damp here but this is a program that offers a lot in the in the surrounding areas in terms of gear Swag swag the you know the kind of the persona that they've had with the different types of uniform so they've always kind of been able to build a national persona with what they offer In those type of bells and wessells and then they've always been in last year's near the top of the pack twelve battling for bacterial supremacy. So you've got onfield success. You got the things like uniform along. You gotTA head coaches and outstanding recruiter you put all those pieces together coupled with a pack twelve south right now. That is very much down. And it's a great Opportunity Oregon. The ride is there player on Wednesday. Or let's say Thursday or Friday because of a seventy two hour window who is the wildcard. The the kid that everybody is insurance going to make an announcement but could kind of turn things around and shift if some momentum and the guy that I think that is going to make an announcement to kind of tweak your question a little bit I don't know of anybody who's GonNa come out of the woodwork. And said they had announced but a guy that I think is really intriguing. It's actually the top rated guy left in the country and that is offensive and Jordan Birch had a habit high school in South Carolina number five player two. ESPN three hundred. He was gonNA initially announced on Tuesday the nineteenth now. It looks like he's going to get it done on eight on the eighteenth. Repeat the opening day on Wednesday Clemson in state South Carolina team to still be Kinda hanging around in the mix. LSU seemed to be a program very much in a mixture of Danny. Just wet visited Georgia. So now there's a lot of momentum building for the bulldogs there you've got a player Jordan virtue. I think you if you went around and talk to the different people you may. I may get four different answers on where he may wind up so I think he going into this early signing period of guys expected to announce I think he right now is probably the most intriguing in terms of the impact type player with several teams. May Tell you that. Hey we think we got a real good shot at this guy but only one of them obviously is going to get Craig where where is an. It's stunning we. Were about thirty five minutes into the PODCAST. We haven't talked about Jim Harbaugh and Michigan. Especially when you know a couple of years ago. Hardball made a ton of waves about sleeping over at a recruits house and finding a way to make sure the he was committed. These kids. The where's Michigan Right now. You know it is correct. 'cause there's not that same type of buzz there was when he first got there But Dave Kinda sneakily doing a solid job. I mean there at number nine disadvantages data enough for you to be number nine in the class rankings. Top Ten class asked asked me. That's pretty good but you're right. It doesn't seem to kind of come with the same flash said it was a few years ago and then when your biggest rival Ohio state eighty two sitting within the top five with potentially shot number one class that makes that gaps even bigger so. I think you know you're talking about these major programs you we've mentioned all the names Alabama Lsu Higher State Georgia you know. Michigan has not had the same onfield. Success that those programs have so when you were kind of dealing in rarified air the upper tier programs It's much more difficult to kind of go into living room and talk to recruit and sell potential potential and four Kind of format. For what you can get you to success. When you're competing against programs that are sitting in those same liberals or those five star? Hi Four Star Prospect. And they're not talking about a blueprint for success or actually talking about real success. If you follow what I'm saying they're saying we've been on the field. We played for a conference championships. We've been in the College Football playoff where Michigan hasn't been able to get over that Hump into that area so when you're talking about the elite prospects and your battle against the other top programme where they've had success to sell. You're trying to sell the blueprint to get there. It could be really difficult. Yeah and I think you can make the case as to where you've got about fifteen fan bases that consider their top five program. Would you only have five spots. You've got ten fan bases aces. That will not be happy regardless because they all think of their own mind they should be in the top five and that brings up programs like Texas Florida Penn State Texas A. and M.. Especially when you're bringing Jimbo you pay the money that you're paying him. Oklahoma Notre Dame when I mentioned those programs anything stand out and how they're handling handling this week You Know I. I think what is most interesting about that. Is You talk about those kind of historic Orrick type program Kevin and the one. I don't think you didn't mention would you you say USC yet so I didn't mention USC because earlier. In the PODCAST. Lou and I talked about them being on the outside of top forty recruiting class. Which Craig you could even expand on that? It is stunning and I understand the doubt of Clay Helton and I understand the status. Listen but I mean your. USC It doesn't matter WHO's the coach you're coming to USC because USC especially in southern California. Yeah Yeah I mean yeah so just to piggyback on. What what Luke said is that you know? Listen it's it's unbelievable that you're talking about historic program. If you remember about ten years ago our baby a little bit less they went through those NCA sanctions that were pretty tough. And even through that they still own southern California they still own recruiting in the PAC twelve. Now you're looking going into this week of the top ten players in the state of California now one of them is committed to USC with three of those Japan uncommitted and probably none of strongly to USC. So you're essentially we can come out of this early signing period without the children's having signed not one top ten player within the state of California which is really kind of mind blowing and kind of Setting up a bigger gap between them and the PAC twelve Northwood Oregon and Washington Washington leading the way so although distort programs and one of those teams you would think no matter what can weather the storm. It's very surprising to see. USC really really be struggling to this point and even with the the struggles they had and whether they help with stay or not for them to be at this point. It's it's really kind of going to be an up hill o'clock for a program that at the very least was able to close strong but at this point really struggling in state in the SEC.

There's ever been a more competitive race for the number one overall class as we go into early signing period you can make a case for five different programs either not by the end of this week then by February and the National Signing Day that first Wednesday in February having the number one overall plus you five teams James currently kind of in the hunt. I think we're GONNA come out of this early signing period likely clemson having been one overall. They've got a really top heavy class. Three five stars really doing a nice job along the defensive line. They're still in the mix were quite a few players including five stars like linebacker justed blow the defensive ran out of South Carolina Jordan Birch versus still some pieces there for Clemson. You can never count on Alabama usually a fixture. There knows I we spot there one program. That still has a lot out there over the next few days at some pieces the see if they can hold onto that number one spot and then the other team Lsu obviously coming coming off an outstanding year when it oh darn got that job. Everybody knew that he would go in there and recruit well they were just wondering how he would do as a head coach with onfield production. I should now. He's on the recruiting trail marrying not only his ability as a recruiter. But also great success on the football field. Probably I I look at the boards for the teams in the top five with the most to gain in terms of volume and it might be Alabama and Georgia Georgia. Maybe a little bit of a delayed reaction because there are some players that they are seem to be the favourite for Kevin that may not publicly announced until after the early signing period. Okay which teams outside the top five could make a move and I'm saying let's just talk about teams in the top twenty that you think could make a big push by the end of the week. I think the thing wanted to watch. The PAC twelve is kind of struggling a bit. But there's two teams teams that are running away with it at Oregon and Washington for me. "Through the s._e._c. was south. Carolina spent a lotta time south carolina's <hes> at one time of steve spurrier's line coach and and becomes head coach towards the state on either team ready. You made <music> out standing point about how they won the game. I mean this was they were churning out drives of ten plays nine plays. Just it was not a oh. Oh my gosh. The ball bounced off his shoulder pad up into the air off the defender. I caught it and we won the game. It was no no no no. We're gonna come right at you. We're gonna run the ball right at gene challenger challenge of defense heart and see if you can respond to it and it just seemed to get more and more confident and tennessee seemed to be questioning things more and more of the game a._m. Went on and <hes> georgia state deserves all the credit so we don't want to take anything away from what they achieved but the bigger story i think is is tennessee. Where do they go from here to get b._y._u.'s why us nine easy opponent at home and you have tennessee chattanooga then they go to the swamp georgia mississippi state then they go to tuscaloosa home again south doc carolina u._a._b. Kentucky at missouri vandy. I mean i think for them. It's one week at a time but you could you could very easily say other than chattanooga and u._a._b. And and by the way those on givens based on what we saw last saturday. Where are the winds coming where where did you you see the winds coming so we'll see if they're able to to kind of regroup but just exactly how you did not want to start the season <hes> for for could've tennessee ball. It's scary too because in two thousand seventeen four wins last year five wins like you said you'd be hard pressed to maybe potentially get the five wins right now. Considering the performance that we saw against georgia state in the way the schedule shakes out all right. Let's go to the game on saturday night. It was the best match upon paper and it turned out to be to me the best game <hes> of the weekend and the legend bonex an and figuring things out in the final ninety seconds but with oregon giving being giving auburn so many opportunities you're up by fifteen points in the third quarter and you're like okay. This is it. This is fine. This is the reason why herber came back the line line. They're all back and and this is something for the pac twelve as that game was going along what was your feeling and and how you're seeing the progress of vo knicks getting comfortable in the offense and also what organ was doing in trying to trying to to to not lose this game and it turned out that they did well. There's so many different ways to go with this. Let me just start with the excitement of just being. You know it's week one. It's it's a big time. Match up your your inside. Ah jerry jones's stadium there and there's a buzz feels like a big time. Bowl game is best way to describe it like there was a lot of pride and a lot of want. I want on on the line for both these teams. They showed up ready to roll <hes>. That's what made the game. I think so exciting to give oregon a lot of credit. I don't know if mario cristobal christobal could have imagined things starting all better i mean they they came out and he's he's trying to change the culture in eugene.

"What about things that haven't happened before in history? You know, we're looking at these trade battles between the US and China that in some ways are unprecedented. So how do you black swans or what are you going? Yeah. How do you? How do you plan for something like that? Or Andy CAPP that in now. And that's one of the reasons why I don't use sort of a black box model because history is not we're not just going to replicate history. You have to sort of learn from it. So when you think about trade, we can actually study what has happened in history. I'm not saying that what's happening. Now is the same exact thing is what happened historically. But I think it can give you a guideline and one of the interesting data points that I have about trade is we know we have a global trade index that goes back to I think nineteen fifty and we can see that contracted about a third of the time. So if you said, hey, I have perfect foresight. And I know the global trade because of this trade war is going to contract in the next year. What would the SNP have done, and you actually find that actually has the highest odds? Of an upmarket and the highest percentage gains versus if you said, I've perfect foresight and global trade is going to be at the highest level. Right. So it's a reverse of what you would think. And so it teaches you that. Hey, wait a minute. This hasn't been a critical driver, historically because the stock market discount that very often quickly and in advance, which may very well be the exact situation we were in the fourth quarter, which sort of gets me earnings as well, which is as much as we are worried about endings recession because we were right on the threshold of potentially contracting on a year on year basis this quarter because as we laughed the tax cuts that earnings recession may have already been discounted in the fourth quarter when you aggregate, those defensive sectors and aggregate, cyclical factors and say what that outperformance is is very very typical of earnings recession. So as much as we focus on earnings as we're going through the earning season. Now, maybe. It actually it doesn't really matter if we contract or not because it's already been discounted in the market. Christobal tells me, you're you're bullish. That's right. And has your bullish. Have you seen investors? Be bullish as well. We've had such a bounce in the stock market. And it's happened more quickly than a lot of people expected given the downturn. We saw at the end of last year. So. Where the money flows is where why isn't more money flowing, and especially from retail any thoughts on that. I can't I can't explain from money flow perspective. I'll tell you a couple of things on the date. I look at one we talked about sort of the dislocation data earlier, which is still persistent in terms of an expression of fear that I think still resides, which is one of the reasons why I think the risk for the risk reward for the market is positive. But a lot of the sentiment indicators that I look at still express that fear as well. Which may or may not be part of the reason why retail funds haven't actually come back into equities. Denise thank you so much for sharing your insights on a variety of sectors in the market right now. Now, thanks so much for having me. That's niece Chisholm. "Hallo watch us on Facebook. At inside the huddle w t k. Hey, welcome back to inside the huddle few. I don't know. Maybe like a half hour hour that we're talking about the recurring classes for Ohio State that urban Meyer has had. Which are just incredible will Nick Bumgarner did tweet out the urban Meyer comparison to Michigan comparison over the last seven years, according to the twenty four seven sports composite. So. Every year except for this current recruiting cycles two thousand nineteen Ohio State has been better now. It hasn't been dramatically better. A couple times in two thousand seventeen thousand seventeen recruiting class. Why have state finishing number two? Michigan finished number five. I mean, that's pretty close. And tells in sixteen Ohio State was four and Michigan was eight. But in two thousand fifteen that was Harbaugh's first year he came in late in the game. He was able only able to to nab a couple of players with, you know, the handicap of of I mean, he was hired on January first or December thirty first it didn't have enough time. His class was thirty seven urban was seventh. The year before that his class was while Brady hoax class class was twentieth. Urban was third. So the classes that the teams that made up the recruiting rankings that made up this two thousand eighteen Michigan football team were twenty thirty seven eight five and twenty two. Conversely, the the recruiting classes for Ohio State were three seven four two and two. Yeah. So go that's why I mean, that's you know, that's why I kinda like look at Michigan fans who act like it's like a Harvard is like not good enough. I'm like, well, I don't know about that. Because we also by the way, if you want to save yourself, the the page reloading and things go to the twenty four seven sports team talent composite. We do this every year we compile who's actually on team. So if transfers leave or people transfer five stars leave early or things like that. Still it just factors. Who's on? The team was number one. Michigan was number eight and in that regard. If you look at it like that who's really underachieving this year. No, I don't know that I may saying they're underachieving. But you know, there are thing is is that teams with less tail dooby teams with more talent. Yeah. But go look at the teen town composite and don't tell me that the college football playoff is. Much understand. I understand us. I understand there's still an opportunity. I mean, I get it. And it makes sense. And it's why you consistently. I don't know who who called up and said, but it's why Alabama and Clemson consistently show up in the college ball playoff urban Meyer has three titles are better at recruiting than everybody else and Oklahoma is really good at recruiting. And, but you know, like four to state, I think is fifth in your team composite estate and USC colossally underachieve. It's a culture problem. We'll see if tagger could fix it. Florida state. But that's that's been a joke for about a decade how well USC just naturally recruits. It's like you, and I could recruit top ten classes USC, we really could. And I mean, honestly, they might not they could probably not have a coach and Selva top ten recruiting class. And but they just haven't had a coach that can that can win since Pete Carroll. Really? Yeah. Yeah. No sneezed out a couple eleven when seasons because it's just that easy. Right. So the composite top teams are alabam Ohio states one Alabama, Georgia USC, Florida state, Clemson LSU, Michigan taxes Notre Dame. Notre Dame's in the in that mix this year. I mean, I think every team you listed except for Florida state and UNC and USC had a very good season. This year. But Oklahoma is number eleven and the team compiles rankings. Okay. They got they got a got a former five-star core. I mean, that's the other thing is like I don't need. I understand. That's why Lincoln Riley is being looked at us. NFL coaches. You say if you say, I understand one more time, I agree. No. Anyway, you got to recruit at that level. And then you gotta be you. Gotta have a great coaching staff and honestly for Michigan beat Ohio State regularly. I think will have state needs to fall from number one spot. I gotta be they gotta be more in that four or five ballpark. Well, I mean, they're class right now, as I mentioned, you know, Michigan at this moment is number seven in Ohio State is number eleven the classes are not done yet. But if Michigan picks up Zac Harrison, they're going to get boosted again. And so if they Zach Harrison, it might be difficult for Ohio State to have a better class this year. I think this the Ohio states classes already kind of do for a drop off partly because they can't sell instant playing time because they've got guys like Barron Browning former five star linebacker. They've got Chris young former star defensive end they've got fives. I mean, they've got basically every position. So. So other than receiver. And I think they've got maybe the best receiver in the twenty nine thousand class coming in Garrett Wilson, maybe I'd have to look it up but other than receiver they really in in maybe quarterback, they can't really sell playing time. And so this is an opportunity in Michigan to their credit has done a nice job. Getting a lot of guys that I think could be your one impact players. At the beginning of the class. They were kind of looking for like diamonds in the rough ground Florida job. Oh types who like two years from now might be beasts. But then they've started shifting and this is the plan shifting toward getting some of these Primo possible day one starters because this is a class that can be good because you're going to have that attrition. Well, certainly be interesting to see signing day. I guess is not next one. Is as the nineteenth. Yes. So we were as little head of ourselves Maher talking about it for next next Wednesday the nineteenth. There is a list at the Michigan insider, you can read all the players that are expected to sign and there are expected to enroll early including Dexter and hill is expected to sign. He's I don't think it's Saturday is expected to enroll early but he is expected to sign now. So which would make Michigan fans, very happy. If you can get the the elite guys to all sign Chardonnay Hinton hill. Yeah. That will make you feel significantly better. Yeah. I mean, the three three top fifty recruits. Yeah. Charbonnet has moved up in the composite the twenty four seven sports composite. I think over forty two twenty five in our specific rankings? It's the other our competitors. That were a little slower on him. Also going on right now. There's a commitment kids deciding between Michigan state or Duke Vernon Carey, Jerry. He's not a one and done type. Little surprise that. Michigan state's finding itself in this one. But. I wouldn't be surprised votes Duke. I don't know. I don't know what the Christobal says. But all right when we come back Heisman Trophy is coming up this weekend. Three people have been named finalists Dwayne Haskins Cuyler Murray and to a Tagliatela who is our pick to win the Heisman Trophy. And who do we think differently than who is our pick? Who do you think is going to win the Heisman Trophy? Hold on sports talk. Ten fifty w.

"You angry only got a phone call? Business coupon keeping moving. And he said he found it shocking. Upon his exit and there were phone calls from gentlemen, and from Eli manning, but he didn't hear from ownership said, quote, I didn't speak to know owners are nothing obviously I gave a hard eight years with the New York Giants won a Super Bowl there. And the only thing you get as a phone call. I wouldn't say I was hurt. But it was just shocking. You know what? I mean giants cone owner John Mary did try to reach out to Paul via text the day, the trade, but didn't hear back a source told Ron. It's interesting, man. The subject of text messages to in the NFL right now, Ben Rothlisberger. Sending a text message to Lebanon bell. Who recently departed asking you moves coming in saying, I wished him. Well, and then, of course, Ben Rothlisberger telling everybody he sent that text, which is likely a reason you don't respond to that text message. It's all very interesting. It all makes for a very angry defensive end trying to come in sack. You're much maligned aging quarterback behind an offensive line. That is certainly struggled this season from UI manning, probably looking at John Mayer like man, you could pay that man of visit to give them a phone call or something right in check that I got a cash. All right. Speaking of writing checks that people get cash themselves. Finally, we get to get to the most important news of the day. Mike Leach is somewhat of a hero of mine. Now that I've gotten a call college football games. One of my favorite things is encountering coaches. That are part of the air raid. Offense coaching tree did a game for SMU sunny. Dykes was a part of that Texas Tech staff with Mike Leach this weekend calling a game for Kansas state hosting Texas Tech cliff Kingsbury, obviously was a quarterback. I'm one of those Texas Tech teams with Mike Leach. And so you see the influence every one part of the influences, Mike Leach's eight unique character, and so what tends to come with the territory's. He gets asked a lot of really weird off the wall stuff, and he's not afraid to go there, which my favorite part about him. This was Mike Leach Washington state head coach top ten team in the country talking about the outcome and the potential ramifications of a Pac twelve coaches brawl or based on their players Carl would be I mean, those guys hitches ours. Anybody in the conference, let's see in good shape. Faceless. Herm Edwards is in great shape. They don't really care if they get ticked off because actually privately I think I would. Now, if you stay away from you still be standing, I don't know maybe one of the distance runner looking guys. I don't know. I'd have to that's a tough question. Christobal oregon. You don't wanna get tied up with him. You don't wanna you? Don't want wanna let him get his hands on because he has big and he's got long levers. You don't want to get those things on. He would be dangerous. So there's no question. Formidable for sure..

"Milestone, and we transition seamlessly in our buffet from the Turkey to actually know coming up next is clearly the Turkey. "It's leafless is leaving you feeling helpless hopeless anxious or depressed. Call your doctor. Immediately postpartum depression is a very real risk. And you should not have nor a final note. You're not alone all over America, new mothers, pacing rocking wondering if this stage will ever end rest, no pun intended, assured it will. All right errant, just heard your narration of that article you selfish. Mom you. Christobal tonight. You after I think so works. I'm sure there listeners are happy. Not to just listen to me, always narrating like, oh, finally, a different voice. I like. That's not what our Twitter feed is telling everybody loves the Jair, all well, I gotta tell you. I appreciate that the voice literally and figuratively that you have given to moms that, you know, might feel selfish about taking care of themselves along with taking care of their kiddos. Yeah. So this idea of sleep is something that I have really wrestled winds as you know, I'm recovering insomniac. And it's funny, right. When I got this sleeping thing under under control for any serious amount of time. Of course, it got pregnant and that all got really messed up being pregnant, and then of course, having a newborn so it was really important to me to kind of tell the story of how important and why its own -portant. You know, sleep, especially when you've got screaming baby that needs all of your energy. And so yeah. So that's kind of you know, your first inclination where at least mine was when I had a newborn was that. You just have to be there twenty four seven, and like, you know, I mean, really 'cause you're facing this idea, especially if it's your first that like, you're just trying to keep them alive at a certain point because the way it feels like, and so a, you know, you really wanted to be I really wanted to be on call at all times. But I quickly learned as I went back into my earlier findings as was trying to sleep by might Ju-just when it was just me that I'm no help anybody if I'm exhausted wiped out energy depleted, especially for a little baby that needs so much energy. So I wanted to kind of break it down. And just say, you know, it's there are ways to get enough. Shut eye. You just have to be very conscious of it will in coming from someone who. Hasn't has a newborn, but also has a has a lot of work to do. I think it's a it's a good thing. It's a good source to get this information from because you know, a lot of people take the opportunity to stay at home with their kids. And that can be amazingly helpful you, you didn't have that as an option and have somehow found a way to make it work. Right. Yeah. And I've done that. No, no word of a lie. I've done that by making sleeper priority. The, you know, the the example of there's my kitchen was a master's, laundry everywhere. And you know, I don't like that situation. Normally, I be immediately cleaning everything up to have a presentable house. And it was I had to make the choice of very sternly with myself to let that stuff go and sleep, and I'm so happy that I did because it's just unbelievable. The difference that even thirty minutes of sleep you can have and not just not just for you for. For the kid. Yeah. You know what I mean? So so it's just so important. And of course, this also dovetails heavily with I didn't suffer from postpartum depression, a couple of my friends did and the lack of sleep exacerbates those symptoms. That's Jewish in to no end..

"Three point favorite in Eugene to take on the Oregon. Ducks really don't need a whole lot of build up for a game like this. No, you don't. And it's probably one of the top three or four games of the weekend. I'm just not buying wash. Can they haven't looked right and you know, I go back to the Auburn opener, hey, that was good. Solid performance from watching than just couldn't get it done in the red zone. Six trips inside the fifteen only got, I think scored one touchdown. I mean around he has Auburn stinks in Washington might be average. I mean, by average, I mean compared to what we at least thought coming in the season. I, I wouldn't put Washington as a clear cut top five top sixteen in the country. I don't think anyone would at this point Oregon nightspot for them. They're fresh off a bye should be unbeaten Stanford collapse. You could say multitude of plays when against them just for them to lose that game. Washington's back to back road really struggled with the UCLA last week Oregon used to. I used to autumn was an auto play on Oregon and a series for so long. They cut one in covered twelve straight. Kind of last two years have been vantage Washington, and then some quitting by forty nine thirty five points. But I, I gotta play the spot here. Gimme Oregon plus the field goal. I just wouldn't wash minus one and I'm not a big believer in the huskies either. I mean, I, I completely agree with you. They got the big blowout win over BYU, but there's something about this team that doesn't look right. The offense is not explosive at all. The defense is still very good. If they win this game, it'll be because of the defense, but Washington just doesn't have that same feeling like you mentioned. Jake Browning has been a guy. I think it has regressed over the course of his college career. I mean two years ago that got through forty, three touchdown passes. I think he has that anywhere close to that combined since so it Washington is is a team that I don't have a whole lot of trust for Oregon is interesting because they gave that game against Stanford away and some crazy things happen. And we all know that. But man, they look prepared. They looked ready to go. And that was a big question about Mario. Christobal coming into the season was is either right fit for this type of program? Yeah, they lost the game, but they were up twenty four, seven in the first half with really good in the process. Justin Herbert look great in that game. I think you've got to trust the ducks if anything here. Yeah, and let's talk line value if they hold on to beat Stanford and look, there's two different points that game that ninety nine percent chance to win the game. What does this line if they're on being isn't pick? Is Oregon slightly favored? If you're looking denting you know where to find value in the marketplace. A lot of times just if you change one or two plays in a game or one play in each game, and it's a couple of games would aligned being. I got it. Thank this line is pick them if Oregon's unbeaten at home and then blow the game against Stanford. That's excellent point. I completely agree with that. So yeah. Hey, maybe this is Oregon's kind of coming out party. Maybe we get a little bit of chaos here in the Pac twelve north at work and does take care of business and this one. How about we go to another premier game here? One sixty nine one seventy, Wisconsin and Michigan. If you haven't checked this number in a little while you're probably going to be surprised to see that this high nine and a half in the market with the wolverines getting a lot of steamier in the middle of the week. Yeah, I I liked Wisconsin earlier in the week, but but the more I talked to people, I think I'm on the wrong side of that one. I'm just historically speaking, here's my thought processes..

"Mortgage confidently, Texas eight am keeps putting the pressure on Alabama hasn't been as easy as it has for the crimson tide. And the first three weeks will go to Tuscaloosa for an update in a moment. West Virginia starting to pull away in the second quarter as they go to the half at Morgan town leading by three touchdowns on Kansas state. Clemson right now starting to open it up a bit late first-half at Georgia Tech and the route is on in Columbus and urban Meyer's return with Ohio State of big onto lane while Virginia Tech leads Old Dominion, fourteen seven Miami. Having no problem Florida international earlier Wake Forest gets crushed by Notre Dame, which seemingly has a new quarterback now. And it's going to stay that way with Ian book going twenty five of thirty four for three hundred and twenty five yards today. A couple of touchdowns in a fifty six twenty seven. Win over Wake Forest. Michigan puts up fifty six and Nebraska fifty six ten the final there Purdue stuns Boston College thirty two thirteen in Georgia gets passed, Missouri. Three twenty nine told you about that Clemson game going to the half. Here's Jeff Zell with more. Riches twenty seven. The ball on the three yard line with eleven seconds ago. Really looking to get this game out of hand. And they just put it into the end. So whenever we're on the air right now. Three. Let's run nineteen of those. Let's set to kick the extra point if they make it which they did they are now up twenty eight to seven over overtax five seconds ago. I have in mind. Thank you very much. Jeff demerit for you. I say that lovingly. Of course, it's got to James Hardie in Tuscaloosa where it's been a good one in this first half between Alabama and Texas A&_M, Jeff James. Yes, it sure has has Alabama hasn't twenty one to thirteen lead closing in on. Halftime is to goodbye. Lower on fire so far completing his fourteen passes for forty eight yards and added his third total touchdown a twenty three yard touchdown tied. In HALE Hinch is to give Alabama at twenty one to ten but pay 'em. Drove back down the field dot in the Alabama Redstone but stalled on their dry it had to get a thirty two yard field goal as Alabama has a twenty one to thirteen lead also fell in mind in the ball game closing in on one hundred yards rushing. Thanks to a couple of long. Scrambled in the first half by texting and still in it. But down twenty one to thirteen to top rank Alabama Simpson. Pike closing in on. Thank you very much. That's gonna Jeff rap Ohio State. Route is on Jeff. Yeah. Buckeyes in really good shape here with two forty six year. We just had a time out called state number four team in the country leading to lane. Thirty five to six urban Meyer. Of course, his first game back to the sideline. He's been running the program for the last couple of weeks, but that's spending that was levied back on August. First. Precluded him from being on the sideline on game day until today. High state, of course, went all three games without urban Meyer Ryan day as the acting head coach coming up that big win at TCU last week and OSHA did jump out pretty quickly. In fact, they had a twenty one lead at the end of the first quarter with Wayne Haskins throwing three touchdown passes. And after two lane got on the board with dairy broad well, two yard run buckeyes got right back to business Haskins again with another TV pass. He's got four on the day and tape Marcello his backup has entered the game. He led a scoring drive. That was capped off by eight yard touchdown run. By j k dob and the buckeyes are averaging nine point seven yards per play and have three hundred sixty. I'm sorry. Yes. Three hundred sixty yards total right now is we took down to thirty nine and counting left in the first half Ohio Steve leading to lane thirty five six quickly. It's gonna John locations. Estate in West Virginia, the hat, John. Yeah. West Virginia twenty one nothing here at halftime. And it's really all came down for West Virginia in the last couple of minutes as well rear. A couple of touchdown passes to David sills Kansas state want. Meanwhile, has not even able to reach mountaineer territory and West Virginia is out gaining Kansas state significantly Amazon stuff up what's giving out gaining can stay three hundred twenty two seventy seven and. She's nothing. Good golfer. K state and West Virginia leads the twenty one and nothing here at halftime. Thank you very much. John into a tug of Isla. Just throw another touchdown pass. Alabama late first-half leads Texas twenty seven thirteen with the point after pending coming up tonight. It's going to be a good one Stanford and Oregon and autzen stadium, it should be a great one. And joining us right now is former ducks quarterback and good friend of the show and their current radio analyst, Mike Jorgensen mica w back. How are you? Three weeks and not to besmirch them in any way. But are they up for it? Well, I'll tell you. That's what the million dollar question is right now. Here you Eugene. That's what we're all waiting to see because really don't feel like those. I read games proved a whole lot based on who they played and open up with bowling green and Portland state who replaced Texas AM taking themselves out of a home and home a couple of years ago. And then San Jose State came to town last week and everybody thought that they would continue to blow people out they gave Oregon trouble last week, which was probably I think for a lot of people around here and cutting a little bit of the coaching staff, but they're free. No heading into Stanford. That's what they wanted to be and know big game here that has traditionally been the game between these two teams. And now Washington is kind of joined in the fray of settling goo wins the north the last couple of years. Oregon's got blasted by Stanford on an average of fifty one. I think at fifty one seventeen has been the scored the last couple of years on average. They're hoping to change at this year. Obviously last year Justin Herbert missed that. Meaning he was injured. This team was a lot different without him in the lineup. And you could see the results he's healthy. Now, he's stronger how big is tonight for him on the on this national stage and is the upward. Well, you. It's the way you launch any campaign into actually if you're going to have that. But it's the way you launched this team he'll back into legitimacy and people believe in that they actually can contend for a Pac twelve championship after being, you know, behind the eight ball the last couple of years in with him. They're very very good and he's been a little bit streaky this year. And and it's been interesting. I mean started the game in Oregon had a chance in each of the games start each of the first regains hot and have had a tremendous amount of drops. So that's almost the first mystery that needs to get solved tonight. When Oregon has the ball is ten they start quick. And if guys are open can they catch the ball? He'll throughout the games have pretty good. But the start games, which you're gonna have to start fast tonight against Stanford. You don't want to get behind the eight ball with the cardinal is you know to have him start fast. Get confidence get into a rhythm. That's going to be one of the huge teased, Oregon success tonight. How important for for the ducks is to get their running game going against the d that's allowing just over three yards per carry the last two games. Well, balanced seen other takes a lot of pressure off adjusted. Herbert if that's the case, and I mean, it's the same thing Stanford's going to try to do the Oregon's defense is get that balance of Bryce love, and thrown to JJ or sake Whiteside and company on the outside. You know, I if either team gets into a balanced type of situation where they're running it. And throwing it effectively it's gonna be a big trouble for the opposing defense. But yes, ever comes in with. I think what maybe people at the beginning of the season. I was going to be the weakness of the cardinal and right now what's been the strength. Only given up seven points a game. They've been great against the run. Just give it up over three hundred. Yards on the season. But eighty six of that came at the very first quarter of the very first game. It gets shade Diego State. So they didn't pretty darned stingy against some good competition in Oregon again, the amount of people, Richard. I went by coming in today say well, what do you think? Well, what do you think? No. I don't think a lot of people though, what this team is or isn't. So today's going to tell you a lot about the ducks. And and what they're gonna do probably the rest of the season with my Jorgensen, former Oregon ducks quarterback and current radio analyst as the ducks get rid of take on Stanford tonight, and what should be another great atmosphere at autzen stadium. Bryce love set last week with an undisclosed injury. It's been a quiet start the Heisman candidate. How do they contain him tonight? Well, they got to be great at the line of scrimmage. You know, he's got some good at bringing in into jumbo packages and make either fen seven eight sometimes nine gaps along the line of scrimmage, and by doing that, you got to pack the box with a lot of people, and and what can happen from time to time. If you miss a gap or he breaks the tackle there's nobody in the secondary. It's the second level to make that play. And as he did last year he had tons of huge runs and he did against Oregon last year to start the game down in Palo Alto. And and really put Oregon with a backup quarterback behind the eight ball. But you've gotta be able to maintain a real disciplined gap control. Depending on what Stanford brings to you at the line of scrimmage genetic into the two headed monster is you're leaving big tight ends and wide receivers in one on one situations against maybe what's been the weakness of Oregon's defense, so far and that's the defensive secondary. So choose your poison, but you gotta be disciplined, and you got really rally to the ball. And that's something that tomorrow. Christobal has been preaching to the defense. This week a three games under their new head coach, it was a smooth transition, and obviously one with a lot of continuity in this program. How would you describe the state of the art football program right now? And and your thoughts on on the future. I think it's on its way back slowly. But surely, I mean today in the evenings game here in Eugene with Stanford could be that the type of leap forward that they need to really kinda legitimize themselves, but they're young still, Richard. There were very young at a lot of positions. If anyone I look at the two deep in particular with tonight's game. And you look at the amount of fifth year seniors and seniors Stanford puts on the field versus Oregon. There are very very young. But coming team, this is the type of thing that launches you maybe to the next level. You got Washington coming here in three weeks to autzen stadium tonight is is a lot that I think it's on its way back. I think that Mario Cristobal and the duty that you mentioned that the staff keeping Jim Levitt and. Coach Royal at the quarterback position and some of the defensive back coaches, and Joe salad defensive line position that continuity has been huge to these guys particularly on the defensive side of the ball with all the turnover. They've had over the last two or three years a lot of people on the bandwagon for Oregon tonight. And how do you see this game unfolding? Well, okay. It's gotta be a quick start for Oregon today. They cannot get behind it unless they get behind not only on the scoreboard with Stanford. But you can't play from behind the markers. You can't be in a lot of second along third along situations to have a chance tonight. You gotta be great on first down to take the pressure off of Justin. Herbert the run game. And then on the other side of the ball. You can't let Stanford kitchen set a second at six thirty two situations. They will lead you to death with their ball controlled under jumbo packages..

Thirty one of them take on March one nineteen of those clips and set to kick the extra point if they make it they which they did they are now up twenty eight to seven over tax five seconds ago. I have mind thank you very much. Jeff for you. You I say that lovingly, of course, James Hardie in Tuscaloosa where it's been a good one in this first half between Alabama and Texas A&_M, Jeff James. Yes, it sure has Alabama hasn't twenty one to thirteen lead closing in on halftime is to buy lower on fire so far completing his fourteen passes for hundred forty eight yards and added his third total touchdown a twenty three yard touchdown tied. In HALE Hinch is to give Alabama at twenty one to ten late, but Tatum drove back down to dot in the Alabama Redstone but stalled on their drive head to get a thirty two yard field goal as Alabama has a twenty one to thirteen lead also fell in mind in the ball game closing in on one hundred yards rushing. Thanks to a couple of long scrambled in the first half. They're texting and still in it. But down twenty one to thirteen the top ring Alabama Simpson tide closing in on time. Thank you very much. Let's go to Jeff rap Ohio State. The route is on Jeff. Yeah. Buckeyes in really good shape here with two forty six. We just had a time out called state number four team in the country leading to lane thirty five to six urban Meyer. Of course, his first game back to the sideline. He's been running the program in the last couple of weeks. But that's that was levied back on August. First. Precluded him from being on the sideline on game day until today. Higher state. Of course, went all three games without urban Meyer. Ryan day is the acting head coach coming off that big win at TCU last week and OSU did jump out pretty quickly. In fact, they had a twenty one lead at the end of the first quarter with Wayne Haskins throwing three touchdown passes. And after two lane got on the board with dearest fraud. Well, two yard run buckeyes got right back to business Haskins again with another TV pass. He's got four on the day and Tate Martell his backup has entered the game. He led a scoring drive. That was capped off by eight yard touchdown run. By j k Dobbins the buckeyes averaging nine point seven yards per play and have three hundred sixty. I'm sorry. Yes. Three hundred sixty yards total right now is we took down to thirty nine and counting left in the first half Ohio State leading to lane thirty five six quickly. It's going to John Lowe. Kansas state in West Virginia at the half. John. Yeah. West Virginia twenty one and nothing here at halftime. And it's really all came down for West Virginia in the last. Couple of minutes is real Greer tossed a couple of touchdown passes. David sills, Kansas state want. Meanwhile, has not even able to reach mount near territory and West Virginia is how gaining Kansas state significantly. Trying that stuff out West Virginia without gaining can stay three hundred twenty two seventy seven and. Nothing. Good going on for K state and West Virginia leads the twenty one and nothing here at halftime. Thank you very much. John Intuit tug of Isla. Just throw another touchdown pass. Alabama late. First-half leads Texas ain't m twenty seven thirteen with the point after pending coming up tonight. It's going to be a good one Stanford and Oregon and autzen stadium, it should be a great one. And joining us right now is former ducks quarterback and good friend of the show and their current radio analyst, Mike Jorgensen mica w back. How are you? Hey, rich. Good to hear your voice. Thanks for having me on really. Appreciate it. Absolutely. Always love talking with you. Great to have you aboard once again. You know, this is going to be a much different test for the ducks than what they've had the first three weeks and not to dismiss them in any way. But are they up for it? Bowling green and Portland state who replaced Texas CNN who'd taken themselves out of a home and home a couple of years ago. And then San Jose State came to town last week and everybody thought that they would continue to blow people out they gave Oregon trouble last week, which was troubling. I think for a lot of people around here and cooling little bit of the coaching staff, but they're free. No heading into Stanford. That's what they wanted to be. And you know, big game here that has traditionally been the game between these two teams. And now Washington is kind of joined in the fray of settling who wins the nor the last couple of years. Oregon's got blasted by Stanford on an average of fifty one. I think fifty one seventeen has been scored the last couple of years on average and they're hoping to change at this year. Obviously last year Justin Herbert missed that. Meaning he was injured. And this team was a lot different without him in the lineup. And you could see the results he's healthy. Now, he's stronger how big is tonight for him on the on this national stage and is the upward. Well, it's you. It's the way you launch any type of campaign into actually if you're going to have that. But it's the way you launched this team he'll back into legitimacy and people believe in that they actually can contend for Pac twelve championship after being, you know, behind the eight ball the last couple of years in with him. They're very very good, and he's been a little bit streaky this year, and it's been interesting. I mean started the game in Oregon had a chance any to the games to start each of the first three games hot and have had a tremendous amount of drops. So that's almost the first mystery that each to get solved tonight with Oregon has the ball is ten they start quick. And if guys are open can they catch the ball? And you'll throughout the games they've been pretty good. But the start games, which you're gonna have to start bass tonight against Stanford. You don't want to get behind the eight ball with the cardinal is you know, is to have him start fast. Get confidence get into a rhythm. That's going to be one of the huge keys to Oregon success tonight. How important for for the ducks is to get their running game going against a d that's allowing just over three yards per carry the last two games well balance, you know, it takes a lot of pressure off adjusted Herbert if that's the case. And I mean, it's the same thing Stanford's going to try to do. Oregon's defense is get that balance of Bryce love and throwing the JJ or Sega Whiteside and company on the outside. And you know, if either team gets into a balanced type of situation where they're both running it. And throwing it effectively it's gonna be a big trouble for the opposing defense. Yes. Stanford comes in with. I think what maybe people could be of the season thought was going to be the weakness of the cardinal and right now what's been the strength only give it up seven points per game. They've been great against the run. Just give it up over three hundred. Yards on the season. But eighty six of that came at the very first quarter of the very first game to get Saint ago state. So pretty darned stingy against some good competition in Oregon again, the amount of people, Richard. I went by coming in today say well, what do you think? Well, what do you think? I don't know. I don't think a lot of people though, what this team is or isn't. So today's going to tell you a lot about the ducks. And and what they're gonna do probably the rest of the season with my Jorgensen, former Oregon ducks quarterback and current radio analyst as the ducks get rid of the take on Stanford tonight, and what should be another great atmosphere at autzen stadium. Bryce love set last week with an undisclosed injury. It's been a quiet start the Heisman candidate. How do they contain him tonight? Well, they gotta be great at the line of scrimmage, you know, scattered so good at bringing it into jumbo packages and make defend seven eight sometimes even nine gaps along the line of scrimmage by doing that, you got to pack the box with a lot of people, and and what can happen from time to time is if you missed a gap or he breaks the tackle there's nobody in the secondary at the second level to make that play. And as he did last year he had tons of huge runs and he did against Oregon last year to start the game down in Palo Alto. And and really put Oregon with a backup quarterback behind the eight ball, but you've got to be able to maintain a real disciplined gap control, depending on what Stanford brings to you at the line of screaming genetic into the two headed monster is you're leaving big tight ends and wide receivers in one on one situations against maybe what's been the week to civil Oregon's defense, so far and that's the defensive secondary. So choose your poison, but you gotta be disciplined, and you've got to really rally to the ball. And that's something that tomorrow. Christobal has been preaching to the defense. This week a three games under their new head coach, it was a smooth transition, and obviously one with a lot of continuity in this program. How would you describe the state of the Oregon football program right now? And and your thoughts on on the future. I think it's on its way back slowly. But surely I mean today and this evening's game here in Eugene with Stanford could be that type of leap forward that they need to really kinda legitimize themselves, but they're young still rich. They're very young a lot of physicians. I mean when I look at the to eat and in particular with tonight's game, and you look at the amount of fifth year seniors and seniors at Stanford puts on the field versus Oregon. There are very very young up and coming team. This is the type of thing that launches you maybe to the next level. You got Washington coming here in three weeks to autzen stadium tonight is is a lot that I think it's on its way back. I think that Mario Cristobal and the duty that you mentioned the staff keeping Jim Levitt and. Coach Royal quarterback position and some of the defensive back coaches and Joe salivate defensive line position that continuity has been huge to these guys particularly on the defensive side of the ball with all the turnover. They've had over the last two or three years. Finally, a lot of people on the bandwagon for Oregon tonight. And how do you see this game unfolding? Well, I tell you it's gotta be quick start for Oregon. They cannot get behind get behind. Not only on the scoreboard was Stanford. But you can't play from behind the markers. You can't be in a lot of second along third along situations to have a chance tonight. You gotta be great on first down to take the pressure off adjusting Herbert and the run game. And then on the other side of the ball. You can't let Stanford kitchen. Second six thirty two situations. They will lead you to death with their ball controlled under jumble packages, and you may only get eight or nine possession..
