"Coach apparently During that rainstorm yourself perception was coming and going. So maybe we can catch up with you in a few minutes Let's continue with more calls David is in kentucky. And you're on the air. Hello david and thanks for taking my call. Thank you Question i had today was Of course living in kentucky unbeliev louis kentucky fans What's your opinion on the computer. Kentucky football program under mark stoops. I know it's still several months. Season starts a long time ago but he's put together a top ten class so far. I know that probably won't hold up for the whole year. It'll fall some and losing a coach to michigan. A few days ago was going to hurt. But what what do you think the ceiling for kentucky football is in the next decade of stays here and please continue as they are right now. I think he's very high I think kentucky has shown in did show what Three years ago was it. Two years ago can't remember three years ago. what they're capable of doing That was a team that wanted to that. Play georgia for the conference Divisional title in a in a really a. I happen to have the opportunity to be at that. That game and that was one of the better off atmospheres. I've seen lately in the sec. So i think what has to continue doing is is what he is currently doing. And that's recruiting smartly. He's not going to beat alabama from any recruits but he can beat other schools and he has and he's got. He made some some dramatic changes on his staff last year. Getting rid of some people that had been with them a long time and what that means is a he. He's not going to accept anything other than than excellent. So i really like Coach and i think he'll continue to be successful. Thank you for the call. Jay is in mississippi. And you're on the air. Hello jay anybody's.

"Football team never has And i would think the locker room would be different in some respects from college For one thing and this is i'm not making light. I mean they're getting paid and i Some of them may be getting paid more than urban. Meyer is is getting paid so so there's a different way of motivating people there. I would think There seems to be a lot of thought given to with trevor lawrence coming in. Is the number one pick in the program pro draft quarterback and then you got tim tebow coming in here can urban. Meyer's keep the locker with. And i hope tibo plays. I want to watch him play. It is i. I'm not watching the falcons this year. I'm watching jack the jacksonville so what do you think about the locker room situation. I'm going to play some tape here in a minute from From from a show the other day about that. Because i do think it's a big concern and i you know i have a brand new coach so there's already a new regime in place so i think losing the locker room with a new coach is less likely than if you have a coach who has maybe in trouble but it's urban way or the highway right now so i think There is less likely that is less likely to happen. Then maybe in a normal circumstance do you say that Travel arts may say. Hey coach myers it. Could you at least get me. A tight. end knows what he's doing. Well first of all that is. We're a long way from that. And i think. I understand the reaction from everyone. But you know we're not. We're not in the playoffs right now. We haven't even had the first game. So i think if if we're in the middle of the season and the team's losing and tim tebow was there only because he he's urban buddy. Then that's a legitimate excuse but we're not there yet well said well said And i'm looking forward to that. There's a lot of entertainment. And i hope. Trevor lawrence and tim tebow and urban meyer. I hope they really do well. And and i hope they have a winning season. i that would be success right now. Based upon where urban started would would you agree with that. I think a winning season would be huge when you were when you were coming off of a one and fifteen season. Hey we're up against a break. Your phone calls continue eight five five two four two seven two eight five christine brennan and a few.

"Has been postponed that was march eleventh when an announcer called off the Oklahoma City Thunder and Utah Jazz game. Just before tip off. Most of US remember that day it was the day. President trump announced the travel restrictions from Europe. The day Tom Hanks and read a Wilson said they had tested positive for Kovic nineteen and the day the NBA suspended the rest of the season after Rudy. Gobert the Utah Jazz Center head tested positive for the virus. You may remember go bare as the player who touched all the microphones at a Utah Jazz media event as a prank. He didn't know he was positive at the time and later apologized for it. I'm a huge basketball fan myself so I was crushed when I heard the news of the NBA suspension. But of course public health comes first to me that really was the watershed moment in the entire. Corona Virus Cova nineteen conversation and not just sports but in our culture. Christine Brennan has been covering sports for three decades. She says she hasn't seen anything like this in her entire career. I think it woke the nation and the world frankly up to the significance and the seriousness of the corona virus pandemic after the NBA suspended season. It was like a domino effect. Major league soccer in the NHL have suspended their seasons for now while Major League. Baseball is hoping to open season in May according to ESPN and the NCWA cancelled it spring and winter championships as a wolverine go blue. I love March madness. It's one of my favorite times of the year. I even had tickets to the final four this year so I was really disappointed when that didn't happen but the threat to our health and safety was too great and it wasn't just the safety of the fans it was for the safety of the athletes to eleven thousand. Olympians expected to compete in Tokyo. This summer had their plans. Put on. Hold the Twenty Twenty Summer Games now postponed until twenty twenty one. The Games have been canceled three times before. But this is the first time they've been postponed and of course even a date. That far ahead doesn't come without concerns. Christine Brennan told me well we in the summer of two thousand twenty one. We'll people feel comfortable. Flying on planes overseas will the Japanese fans feel comfortable being in big stadiums and the answer is over and over experts. I've talked to. We have no idea. We just do not know but by that point of course a lot of these. Olympic athletes will have lost months and months of training. I just don't think we know yet and I think that uncertainty is so difficult for athletes. Consider that Olympic athlete. Their whole lives for this one moment. I was hardly know just as we train for for almost a year to two years. Just make the Olympic team. That's odd the beater Amman. An Olympic distance runner twenty twenty was the fifth time he's qualified at forty three. He's also the oldest American to run the marathon in the Olympics. You know before before the device you have a goal does the one thing you have like road races coming up you. Have you have something to get ready for this time? Everything's on the air. I just training just to stay fit and the sports world isn't just waiting on the sidelines. In the midst of the Pandemic Major League Baseball is now participating in a nationwide Corona Virus Antibody Study League employees spouses and players volunteered to participate to help give a better understanding of how prevalent this virus really is so I go is not to get an obese specifically back to work go in our research is really to get a bit of understanding of what the true prevalence looks like across the nation. I spoke with Daniel Lichner. The president and lab director of the Sports Medicine Research and Testing Laboratory. They were great pot down in a great organization because the head nationwide coverage that we could access individuals that were I seem to matic regular part of the general population. You know from team owners all the way down to hotdog vendors and be sales people on Game Day and everything in between you're looking at the MLB it sounds like sort of a microcosm then of the country Representing different demographics of our country. Can Can you talk me through how it was administered? Then in how quickly then did they get results? Some people could do drive-thru program where they have a bunch of their technicians. Physicians trainers and the Individuals with the drive through. Stick their finger out the window get fingerprint can get the result literally in a matter of minutes and it seems like most people would fundamentally want to know. Then am I now essentially immune can I get infected again? I think which too soon to say what that immunity looks like now. The federal government is slowly making plans to reopen the country. As I said earlier president trump has asked major league sports commissioners to be apart of that conversation the commissioners have a tough job. They're weighing a lot of things. In making the decision of how in win to get back to work commissioners work for the owners and their league and and the owners are going to want to start playing. They're going to want to start making money again. They're not liking the losses the financial losses that they're taking of course no one is the commissioners also have to weigh the very significant health risks. Not just for the players and their families and the referees and the coaches and the TV people and the and the media people But also the fans in the stands. And if you're drawing people into a stadium and if it becomes a corona virus hotspot and all of a sudden explodes. That is the fear of every commissioner in every sport you open up too soon you bring people together and all of a sudden you have another corona virus bomb sports says we know it may not be the same for a long time the NFL draft. Which starts tonight. We'll be held. Virtually for the first time as was the WNBA draft last week. The League plans to start its regular season in September and the draft helped set that into motion. Here's NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in an interview with ESPN. Obviously it's a different year for all of us. We had to make modifications in our offseason program We've had to make significant changes to our draft And those are all appropriate and their right to do. And we you know part of what this is about is continued to work from home by-product from home continue to do things we're supposed to do and be prepared. There's also the possibility that spectator less sports will become the new normal Christine Brennan predicts that will happen at the PGA men's golf tournament when it comes back in June and the masters in November. We could see an a masters without spectators. And that's GonNa look very strange to a lot of people. Although my prediction here is that within a couple of days of watching some of these sports events. If you watch a baseball game without spectators day is not gonNA look a strange the next day and by the third or the fourth day. You're going to be totally used and you're just going to be happy. You're watching baseball again. I think sports is walking a very fine line. It's kind of a tight rope. We want sports back. It'll make people happy it'll signal this openness that maybe we're we're coming out of this and yet you don't WanNa move too fast. Olympic runner of the Bearman thinks that the twenty twenty one Olympics will be a history making record breaking year. But I think he's GonNa going to unite us. I'm just GONNA have so much energy like a lot of things. Going every athlete winner represent contract because they know what their country went through so everybody wanted to do when do their best Magic Johnson also remains hopeful America. All of us who live in this great country that we live in. We need sports especially in a time like this but only if everybody is safe
Canada, Australia will not send athletes to Olympics because of coronavirus
"If there are Olympic games this summer if Canada will be there the Canadiens grabbing headlines Sunday evening when their Olympic committee announced that they would not be sending athletes to any Olympics in the summer of twenty twenty Australia hasn't gone as far as Canada well the Australian athletes have been advised to prepare for the Tokyo Olympics to be in the summer of twenty twenty one because an Australian team quote could not be assembled in the changing circumstances at home and abroad the IOC's Sunday saying they will be exploring their options for the Tokyo games over the course of the next four weeks a worldwide group representing Olympic hopefuls and their supporters has been pushing the IOC to officially postponed the IOC's been steadfast in the past week plus saying the intention has been to hold the games are scheduled but there's been quite a bit of push back Sunday the IOC making its announcement that it would take a month to examine things Christine Brennan from USA today earlier on ESPN radio they had to do that by the international committee president Thomas Bach a former athlete himself actually with boy cut it out in the nineteen eighty Olympics so he he understands the plight of athletes including opportunities and and how difficult that can be now the president of the international Olympic committee and he has really lost the athletes shockingly as a former athlete himself he hasn't been responsive kind of Nero fiddling while Rome burns and he had to do this today and what what happened was that he thought a letter statement from the international Olympic committee basically saying that they will now be here the athletes to hear their concerns I think that the driving real difficulty training they're concerned about their health they're concerned about the well being of their family members and friends that they might be training with if if they're going for the Olympic Games what is the status of Olympic trials around the world a venue that the ability to even find a swimming pool to swim and that really came to time Olympic gold medalist kicked out of the Indiana University poll because they closed then kicked out of the YMCA three time Olympic gold medalist kicked out of the Y. is living in Indiana that's the plight of these athletes right now in the midst of all of our restrictions and understandable concerns about the pandemic and so Thomas Bach the IOC president finally got it and having lost the athletes you trying to win them back by saying he hears their voices he hears their concerns that it will be for weeks now that they will spend looking at the options the weather all the games this is another July twenty fourth August ninth in Tokyo which seems unlikely or postpone them which is kind of like turning a battleship not like postponing the NBA or the NHL or moving the masters and the British and the Boston Marathon guys this is a whole different thing to move an Olympics would be extraordinary and unprecedented but that's what they're looking at right now and look at themselves for weeks that decision do you think you made the right call Christine because I know that he use the word premature in terms of making a decision on whether the Tokyo games will be played but given the uncertainty around the corona virus and the number of leagues worldwide that have either postpone their seasons canceled their season said you know we're gonna put a pause on this and come back in twenty twenty one and we think this will be gone do you think that the Olympics should have taken that same approach are you where do you stand on the side of what Thomas Bach said today right Cordero I think I think that's the only decision you could make because they're trying to kick the can down the road a little bit and you're actually right other athletes who are endangering their health by continuing to train we don't know the answer to that will know if and when someone had positive for coronavirus and and that will probably be the definitive answer to your question that would be unfortunate to get to that point but you have to be NBA shut down when they had back with her to go there I think we may well see if that be the case even though it's a very different scenario because athletes are training all over the country all over the world and often they're by themselves or with just one or two people drive like they're in arenas that are full of fans it's it's a different scenario but I do think we cover the Olympics since nineteen eighty four our coverage you know never intern summer nothing surprises me about with the international Olympic committee will do and how to lead and to stand out of it they are and so with that in mind I think this is probably the only decision they were going to make because they want to take a little more time but my sense is postponement is on the horizon even though that is incredibly difficult for a city like Tokyo that they're preparing for what seven eight years for the moment obviously this is so much different than just moving a tournament a few months or even a year because of course as we know the Olympics are once every four years Summer Games once every four years later and often for those athletes at the once in a lifetime experience which I think is one of the positive body image on the committee might be trying to save the game even if it can be seen at that so negative in so many ways I understand those who defame postpone right now but we'll get there give you that answer very soon and hopefully all athletes will remain safe while they're continuing to train professionals say they'll take the next month and figure things out the Olympics if delayed for twelve months wouldn't be the first event pushed to twenty twenty one the Dubai World Cup is off until

"That's being sent today. That is just the wrong message. I'm not saying again, creep hunt can come back and be be great. But it's too soon. And I don't think there's anyone on earth who would say that. This is not too soon. It is give it let is you said let the punishment play out. Let's find out what the what the what the, you know, any kind of suspension will be right. And then and then maybe do it quickly before we let you go Christine. We're talking to USA today's Christine Brennan, I wonder knowing what we know about how the chiefs are one of the biggest losers in this situation. He's got another deal. The Browns get a great running back. The chiefs lose because they acted in the way that we would hope team would we're not that far removed from Ray rice and people saying what he doesn't his own home as his own business. We're not that far removed from the ravens putting up a video on their website of him getting a standing ovation when he came back to practice. We have very recently come to a place where we are openly understanding that the best reaction to this is to condemn it. Right instead of cover it up or excuse it. So how long or how quickly could we revert back in some ways because the teams that are acting in the right way are losing out right now. It's a great point Kansas City did the right thing and should be lauded and it had been lauded for that in praise for that. And yet at the at the base level the thing that matters most to them talent on the field of play. They've lost. You're right. And that's a tough one. And I don't know how the league then keeps hammering home. How much they care about a radical getting violence assault, domestic violence, whatever you wanna call it from from the league when they treat a team like the. The Kansas City. They treat a team like that. These are open questions. I know I'll continue to work on them. I know you will as well. But you bring up absolutely excellent points because right now, it feels like a loss. This feels like a big loss for everyone trying to do the right thing and seeing it in ten instead kinda just fall into a heap in front of us. And that's too bad. Thank you so much for making time for us Christine. You always have such great insights. Appreciate it. Well, you too. Thanks again. You guys Sarah basin. Thanks, much USA today's Christine Brennan, your thoughts. Always welcome on the one eight hundred flowers dot com Twitter.

"Happy. Good news in college sports in college football soon. We're four Christine Brennan. Thank you. Thanks. I'll take Christine Brennan joining us from USA today. We'll get some reaction to that. When we come back. You're listening to about Paul finebaum show podcast. Welcome back to the program. Again, big story today that we covered early on. And that was the Jalen hurts is. Officially transferring to Oklahoma more on that a little bit later on. Let's get some phone calls here at eight five five two four two seven two eight five Hal is in Mississippi. Welcome to our program. How? Thanks, paul. Enjoy your shows actually have meal. Thank you. After hearing, the Clemson, whatever you wanna call it. I had something I wanted to share that in two thousand and nine I have a son that was a member of the you Tigers national champion baseball team. Oh, well, they were invited to the White House in prison. Obama was in office thin anyway, when I got the how to the White House he didn't have time to see him. So they did not get to meet with the president. Well, did you hearing you that nine years ago? I never heard that story. Now, it's kind of what I mean voted for President Trump not crazy there. He does. But that being said, it's just amazing. How in this was kind of a fiasco? I agree that you know, the. I think the one point that would be worth making. I do think they were there rather early. My my own theory on that is that you have Lindsey Graham who's probably Trump's closest friend is from South Carolina and Clemson fan you, Mick Mulvaney. The chief of staff who was a former South Carolina congressman, I don't know whether I'm just throwing that up in the air. I've never heard of anyone of any team being there that quickly, but but you have to understand Donald Trump. I mean, I mean, I thought the fast food part of it was pretty funny. I had no problem with it. Trump naturally made it about himself. But but then again, I think we probably used to that by now are only. Your deal did Christine Brennan said about never remembering being a a meal, you know, that went along with it. As far as this deal is concerned. I don't think there was a meal. In course, they wanted to baseball championship, gene. And I think it was. Yeah. I mean, the late October November before they went to the wire there occasionally based on what I know there may be cookies and punch. But no, this is the first time I can remember anything quite like this. But hey, listen, Clemson won all these people acting like they were disrespected they have been on every late night talk show in America. While the hosts have been attacking the president. They've been on every morning show. It's wednesday. We're still talking about it. That's good for business. If you're if you're Devo swinging all right in when the when you did see members of the team, they were all smile and laugh. And they had a great time. And by the way. I I'm not gonna been to. I've been fortunate to been to the White House a number of times, I've never been there yet. When it wasn't a big deal for me. And I'm a nobody compared to being on about being honored by the president. No doubt. No doubt. That was counted with you know, my picture taking with Joe Biden. And that's okay. But he wasn't the prison states. No, it's close. So. Thank you very much..

"On iheartradio. Stimulation? Before we get to the phones. Let me let me share with you the Washington Post treatment of the shameful defeat of Serena Williams by this upstart Naomi Osaka. Headline at US open power of Serena Williams and Naomi Asaka is overshadowed by an. Empires. Power play. Yes. The electoral college reared itself and enforce the damn rules and the game on Serena Williams. How dare the referee? In fact, grab audio sound bite twenty three. And I think twenty four here's here's Torino Williams. This this is actually the first athlete ever get an argument a referee. This was during the final itself, I'm here fighting for women's rights and for women's equality, and for all kinds of stuff and for me to say fief and firm take a game. It made me feel like it was a sexist remark. I mean like how he's never took a game from a man because they said fees. Blows my mind, but I'm going to continue to fight for women. Okay. So that was that was a press conference afterwards. I'm here fighting for women's rights and for women's equality for what other trying to win the US open for crying out loud. What are you gonna Serena caper, Nick? Anyway. Well, let's get twenty four. This is Christine Brennan. She's she writes for the listener. The USA today. It used to be the Washington Post and being interviewed by poppy, Harlow, the info babe anchor read and CNN and the question is it solely sexism. Or is it more than that? They're all the referee and how the referee jobbed. Serena look at she loses. Six two six three the referee giving you do with it. She just got beat. But see just like Hillary. She didn't get beat. They cheated the refereed Russian somebody cheated. And now, the the real winner is being ignored know stories about her nothing. Anyway, here's Christine Brennan. I think it is sexism Serena is a very outspoken person. She has a champion for many. She is bigger than the game. And so there are a lot of reasons why someone might target Serena or look at her differently. Clearly, she's an African American woman, but we are seeing as you've alluded to over and over again now. The last what thirty six hours since this happened man in tennis women in tennis, the the greatest names in the sport all of them coming down on the side of Serena being Cormac about a double standard. Of course. They are. They're all part. Of course, they are. Serena Williams didn't lose you'll see she got jobbed forget that she lost in straight sets. And was never in it. The referee did it because the referee is anti female referee is probably another. Tennis elitist who's probably shocked at the way, he's been turned on by people. He fought had welcomed him into the elitist club. Referee's got to have his mind blown US TA turns on him. Serena turns on him, not a whole tennis community. Anyway. It's such a teachable moment. And I've gotta going again. But don't go anywhere else..

"Not the first time for Nike to do this probably not the last, but certainly the most bold and the one that will resume potentially the farthest just because it's the NFL the same week at the NFL kicks off. And it involves the president United States. Yep. Christine Brennan right there. Good for talking about Nike and the capture Nick thing. And you know, look a lot of this is one of those things where. This is an emotion thing. People feel very emotional about this people feel really really emotional about this. And I always find it funny because if you go to a game, and and and you go and they see people talking during the anthem Spratly their nachos. Drinking a beer, you know, people don't stop and do the things you're supposed to do. How many of you stand up at home when the anthem is on or turn the channel? 'cause you just don't care. That's the reality. Like your watch the anthem when it's like, okay. It's Thanksgiving Day game. And you watch that or it's the you know, whatever the Super Bowl. Okay. Who what rockstar is going to be the they'd be there and. Maybe proven, correct. That's when Nike is thinking about here. They're trying to get a closer connection with the consumers short-term unsure longer term. Probably a big win for Nike. I don't know about that. I don't know partly because of of how we think about things nowadays. Right. Because every day we found a new crazy a new tragedy. A new triumph. I don't know. I don't think so. You never know could be wrong. I've been wrong before I will be wrong again because I am a human being and not going to blow smoke and say, I'm always right because that's not true. But this is a gamble that Nike's willing to take and Nike so far Scott. And I think a lot of what they want out of it. Which is what publicity? The hundreds of millions and potentially billions of dollars of free, publicity because of the banter back and forth, the debating and the talking about it. Is going to go a long way. Now is it going to help or hurt the brand that I don't know that remains to be seen? But I will tell you this Nike with Nick never sold. My child on anything. But Nike because of Odell Beckham junior that did he doesn't care about the the controversy cares about the catch. Cares about the throw cares about what they're wearing. How they look not the controversy. Three two three five three eight twenty four twenty three at Chadbensonshow is your Twitter. He's an actor still, but he had a regular job. And he got shamed. For why.

David, I big fan. Thanks. This seems like a case that really isn't going to go away. Do you think the backlash protests heckling could make Arben end up resigning at the end of the season? I don't know. I think I think he, I think he obviously wants to be around for some time to come. He was very reluctant to to accept the suspension, which is why took so long for them to announce it. 'cause he didn't even want to accept that number one. Number two, I think the NCW should intervene. I think the relation intervene and say, this is a Patsy. There's a patio suspension soft as putty, but the hell is this. He Senate any kind of message with this? You know, there's a compliance department and and you know, a bunch of is in place that were bypassed or circumvent it by this man. And I think that's what we're looking at right now. Appreciate the call. Thank you, Mary, you'll live Stephen, go ahead, please. Yes, I would just like to say that as a country, we've got this all turned up side down. We've got a man in the White House. You talk about leadership that has done some greatest things and he's still in urban Meyer, would he did and what? How state? I like I, I'm in the area. I see what they've done. How state is a is a machine. It's about the money. You've got players that can't receive any money. If I go out and put up a hotdog stand, I can make as much money as I can. The players can't do anything. They've gone to the point of you get kicked off campus at a sophomore year where if you're talking about protecting your your kids and your students, you provide housing along with along with books and tuition and so forth to keep them safe this. And then if you have the ratio piece in here, this is about mostly black men running up and down the field. You get hurt. That has nothing to do with with Zach Smith and urban Mayan this particular situation. But you get no disagreement from me. We understand that there are young African American student athletes that are being exploited and not being fairly compensated. We get that even though they're all white athletes that are suffering the same dilemma because they're involved in collegiate sports as well. There's no denying that I don't believe there's any question that this word black coach, this man would be gone. Yes. The director happens to be African American and he's getting paid less than a million dollars, but he's kept his job. He just going to be docked two weeks pay, but if it were urban Meyer of it was African American coach in this particular situation that wasn't getting paid the money that urban Meyer was getting paid. I would think that the same would happen to him. I don't think they're saying I don't. I don't think the same would happen to him. I think he would have been going to say would have happened to him if he was making urban is money though, say this when you talk about what they could've done as university, they've gotten rid of the piece where women. Go and tell, hey, I've been, I've been harassed. I've been raped and so forth, but university is going to protect that money. They're moneymaker urban Meyer is the face of that along with. I also felt like, why was he the one that do the fire in that this should come down from HR from James Smith and so forth and so on. I also feel that the pal police department by not acting on the calls of of of vaccinates y, you know somebody there needs to be lose their jobs if you're talking about getting little jobs and putting people on suspension and so forth, then then we have to look at the whole picture. Very, I've gotta run because I've got to get off the airwaves, but I don't disagree with your point. Definitely. Somebody's looking at just like somebody needed to look at what transpired with Zeke Elliot situation in terms of the local police, they in Columbus because not much came of that either..

"Your show, bro. Love everything about you. Been listening to you. Learn time this whole this over a Myers thing, man. We're talking about allegations from a woman now right now, right. Allegations, they've got text messages, emails, etc, etc. This kind of stuff happened. Go ahead. Exactly. You got text messages, Email, all that police reports, this man was never charged. Nothing never charged. This was in two thousand fifteen. This all them. Some reporter, asking a question, a press conference. Now, here's where I have a problem with this. There's been evidence has come out and said, this woman's made it known. She's gonna ruin. This guy's career, the father of her children. Now everybody wants bro Obermeier under the bus and say, we need to fire him. They got three games, urban Meyer didn't do anything. Do you have children. Yeah, I got children. Do you have daughters. If the head coach who is supposed to be a leader of men. Finds out about this stuff doesn't tell the lead director doesn't tell the compliance department puts the Ohio State University in a bad light in an above. All that can certainly severe and compromise their reputation. If it were someone who did not win ninety percent of their football games. What do you think would happen to them? Aren't they keep, but he didn't come out and say, he told gene Smith while there were things that he didn't tell Jean Smith about g Smith wasn't aware of certain things. Another point to that even to say and I don't know mental in her hands on women that should never happen. Okay. But we, we don't know what happened between that man, that woman what that woman done versus anything. Now you got this reporter from CNN saying or US minutes. Let me give you the strongest argument. This kid Reuben foster formerly of Alabama with the San Francisco forty Niners. It got into the media that you know he was being accused of domestic violence. He categorically denied it. Ultimately people excoriated him come to find out. The woman goes on the record and knowledge is she lied and she did so because she was furious that he had broken up with her. And it minted that she lied most of those folks in the media who were dogging him and calling for him to be released by the forty Niners apologized. A couple of people in the media did not. So you have a point is what I'm trying to. I don't condone it. I don't want nobody to think that and I think him being away from the team for this, why they did their investigation. I think everything. So in place, the way it's supposed to be, I disagree. I disagree with you because I, regardless of what happened or did not happen. He put a high state in a bad situation. You gotta remember this. The same remind that was head of Florida's program when thirty one arrest took place. One of his players was Aaron Hernandez, and some accused urban Meyer of not being as as heavy handed on Aaron Hernandez as he should have been and look how that ended up the reality of the situation. This some track history here as it pertains to urban Meyer is behavior his insensitivity to certain actions and transgressions on the part of people associated with is football program. It's undeniable is all of that stuff has been out there and there's no way to get around that. I've gotta run though, Jeff, but I appreciate your call and I hope you understand where I'm coming from with that. Let's go to Brian. You live. Stephen, go ahead buddy. Any dude calls on urban Meyer side, how stupid can you be? People lie for two reasons. I wanna get in trouble and the cover something up, hey, new. Not only did he knew he covered it up and he and able this guy to be able to continue to amuse his wife and the worst thing is he the president. We have let it director a house..

"All of that I wasn't an advocate of of Rush, Limbaugh being fight until somebody let him know the heightened level of sensitivity, how inappropriate comment may have been. And as a result, he refused to show any control apologize. Jimmy, the Greek years ago. When he got fired the late Jimmy degree God rest of. So I wasn't of the mindset Jimmy. The Greek should have been fired. I thought it was agreed that somebody could come into a ball knowing he's clearly every eight. It sticking a carrot in his face. He makes stupid comments off the air, and he get held accountable for that. I really felt that was unfair. I am not a guy that sits up here and says, well, somebody should be fired. I did not believe that urban Meyer should be Zach. Smith is the one that committed domestic violence. The heat and the ultimate. I should be brought to be on his shoulders right up until I thought that Dan press conference, and we're not that press conference, and I saw urban my act that way and be so dismissive and act like he was the one being victimized, and then I read the report and some of the other details. Where he was clearly complicit. Clearly complicit. There's no way we're on that. There's just no way around it. We slice it anyway. We went to this no way around that in a big issue for me, ladies and gentlemen is the fact that young men pop puppies in this world puppies held more accountable. They grow men. When you are a leader of men, you must be helped. Excuse me, you must be held to a highest ended. The standard cannot be the same. It cannot be equal. You have to be held to a highest ended. Because you're the leader. Leaders have more responsibility to whom much is given much is required that statement. Does it come out of nowhere. This is not about urban Meyer who's about us. You got this whole scandal stuff going on in Hollywood with Harvey Weinstein. What do you think people are looking all over the place to see how far reaching his alleged behavior is because they want to know who else to hold accountable? How did this go on. This kind of stuff matters. And I got to be the first to you. I'm all for it. There's an academic scandal that went down at North Carolina relooking at the kids. Just the other day, so got suspended for four games for selling stickers. For Harding, the agreed actions involving domestic violence. Not just from the public, but also from his athletic director also from the compliance department, also from fissures at the Ohio State University, the coach gets three games. What a kid gets four for seller status. Really. You gotta be kidding me. And y'all wonder why going there and Cup over these with. And I go ballistic because a s. Like this. Straight b. s.. Can get suspended for four games for sellers thinkers. Y'all say, damn word. Nothing. Some of you out there going ballistic because the coach got three games where what could argue he should've lost his damn job. So he wins because he wiz ninety percent of the game. I'm sorry, win. It remind Mika tackle when he run for touchdown when he register sack, when he throw a touchdown. Those players out there doing that. Players. Play his don't in the ball or shooting threes. But it's I to spend now. But the groom me. Fob to hold him accountable and don't let me don't don't you make me get started with whether or not it was a black coach. Don't you make me go there. Don't you make me go there. What black coach you could get accused the Senate like this and keep their job. Or get a three-game suspension. And the way three games spending is against Oregon state Rutgers and TC. You go coach against Penn State, go coach it in the end Indiana, Minnesota apper do Nebraska at Michigan state at Maryland. And then again, Michigan against Michigan, coach those games. They missing a big game except against Rutgers I coach how state against ruckus. Got gotta. Be kidding me. I live in New Jersey, Billy ruckus impetus cata way, and I still don't know how to hell the get. You know why? Because when it come to football, they relevant. I really hope that changes. I don't root against them, but I'm speaking fact..

"And so I, yeah, I think that's a real problem. I think there are so many problems here. I go back to one of the headlines for me even which is that. I just cannot believe that after reading that twenty three page report that are in my are kept his job. I just cannot believe that that would be the away of this ago. So let's got group of people that they would say, oh, yeah, you know what? We'll let them keep his job and give them a three games. I, it's just unbelievable procedures. Be specific about this. Not only keeping. His job, not only the only suspended for three games. He's not missing any big ten games other than against Rutgers. He gets to be completely suspended for against Oregon state for the open up. But then after that can coach his team right up until game, Tom for the other two games before he's officially allowed to come back. So that's how it is right there. Having said all of that, my last question to you would be this. I'm an advocate. Considering what happened with Joe paternal in Penn State with with with the pedophile of cereal, the cereal, sexual assault in Jerry Sandusky, how to NCW got involved with Penn State. It would not bother me at all. If if the NCWA felt the need to intervene because they didn't feel the penalty here for urban Meyer was stiff enough to that. You say what? Yes, I agree with you. I was one of those people that actually tied with find that the NCAA was involved with Penn State and the idea being the improper advantage in the edge, the Penn State God by not. Elling recruits about Jerry Sandusky. I mean, they would have literally had zero student athletes, you know, no football players have ever moms, moms dads would never their their sons go to Penn State. If they knew what what Joe Paterno knew from Mike query and the whole issue that we, of course live back in twenty eleven and twenty twelve. So I thought it wasn't advantage competitive advantage for Penn State to keep that secret into cover it all up Joe Paterno and others. And so I thought that was an NCAA violation. I love with the did and then they pulled back a little bit on that. So there was such a, you know, such a cry. But yes, I agree with you. And actually, I think it's a phone call. I should make maybe well should make the NCAA ask them what they're gonna do. Because as I said, this is really seems to be striking a chord with people. I'm, I'm surprised. I'm I happily surprised that people are reacting with anger and venom toward the board of trustees decision and the president's decision. I think that's a good sign and that it's. It's a bad bad decision and that the people don't like it and maybe say, does I doubt they're gonna get involve? I guess you know always dream, but I think they should and we should at least journalists, asking them the question. Why are you? Are you getting involved in if not, why? Not? Because they did with Penn State. So why? Not with Ohio State? I completely agree with you on that one. Absolutely. Christine, Brennan, always appreciate you a great, great work. You do a USA today in every place else. ABC news, CNN PBS and beyond plus your best selling as well. Thank you so much for the win for work. And then thank you so much. And, oh, by the way today we're on ESPN two and eight say ESPN. It's inundate seven to nine three, seven, seven, six, absolutely right in the money. And I mean that I mean that I mean, look, I was not of the mindset that urban Meyer should be suspended until I sort of press conference. Sorta lack of contrition, sort of lack of remorse. And just so you know where I cover lease remember years ago when Rush Limbaugh worked at this network and got let go because of his comment about Donovan McNabb and out of media was desirous of black quarterback do well and blah, blah, blah, blah member..
