"So yeah she's gotta be like sheep and cooking awhile. I just i was kind of like deuce him but i guess they decided not to go that we'll know you and they went the route of if i think it's what a lot of sometimes in movies and tv shows villains like they all fall to that. There's a damn trope whether worship me. Because i'm gonna give you this right and so i'm trying to think of another example camp saying like look what i can do for you but you gotta be with me right like i can give you vis. You've gotta be with me. And i think that that was. That was kind of disappointed in that trope. I also don't know what else she would have done. Well yeah it's like. I don't know what she's done but i think it's a classic villain trope. I can provide you with everything you need. You have to come with me. I've got you look what i can do for you. Yeah and then she gets that weird self sense of importance that she's created for herself and they did kind of muddy it up like what we're what was she going to do. She has to take gristle out. Was you gotta give everybody trolls. Trolling behind the scenes. Like are these the only trolls they know about. Because i know you said in the sequel we find out about this thing with the bergens in how they described their land. Yeah these are the only trolls they know about. So if you eat all the trolls which is what the plan wise. There would be. No more trolls. I kept thinking and i was like. Aren't you gonna cage a couple up all the trolls right now. Including the baby trolls. Yeah that was gonna overdose. You gotta you gotta keep some free range to. Pt will be on you for the ethical treatment of trolls. I'm so pissed. I set you up for that. I have to say this. Can we just give applause to christine baranowski..

Hbo's new series the gilded age it's set an eighteen eighty two It's sort of the beginning of you know This sort of amazing time in history. Which quite admittedly. I didn't know a lot about for got involved in this project where you know industry and railroads and all of these businesses were sort of just like taking off and they became people with an enormous amount of wealth so And not a lot of checks and balances yet and it was just like insane wealth so they were building mansions and they were making comes and there were and there was no money money so that is sort of a loose premise of the show is there is a family that has new money and they're they're ready to be in society and do all the things and then there's a family that's that's from the old buddy and they're very proud of that and they're not really ready to accept the new folks so there's a little bit of drama there. Raymond and i are sitting in riverfront park in troy new york. They filmed a block away. Transforming storefronts into hat boutiques and cigar shops from eighteen. Hundreds new york city ryan says the scenery was her favorite part of filming. It's gorgeous. Oh my god. I can't wait for people to see the show. it's just the costumes sets. It's just little literally stunning. It's really really beautiful. And the best part the hearses were of my favorite things. They're just beautiful. And i mean we were really lucky. We've been working with this group of folks wrangler horses and carriages from the beginning and They've been fantastic. And like you get to know their names and you get to know their personalities and third are actors to reimann says. Troy was the perfect location to shoot. We were scouting different locations including albany but troy just has a lot of architecture from the period that his largely untouched. And that just is is the main reason new york city brooklyn those places. It's so hard to navigate a through them anymore with and there's a lot of monitored pieces mixed and it's just hard to find those chunks of time and space that that are controllable look proper so really here it was an and the city has been amazing As far as like helping us luck done streets so we can run horses and carriages and put dirt down and do all the things we need to do to make everything safe for everybody and still make it. Look good takedown signs. I mean we had to. You know there's a lot of work that went into it and the city was really fantastic so definitely happy. We came here and got to see all the beautiful houses and you know they have to be touched up a little bit from of exit here and there but for the most part i mean the. The structures are just gorgeous. Reimann does not have a cameo in the gilded age but if you look closely she does have her own sign in the scenery. Sometimes we sneak names into the signs for the crew. Like only the crew really knows so like the names around A town on the signs are a lot of ryan is aligned producer. I'm physically in charge of the budget. overseeing the budget the schedule And sort of the management of the people. Raymond says the covid nineteen pandemic is tough time to be running logistics for major. Hbo series how to do. And how to do it safely. You know getting air purifiers and you know checking people in what different things can we do to make separating people six feet apart at lunch so they can take masks off and that in and of itself just the amount of space we needed to get people ready and to feed people was tremendous. We had to have huge tense. Like almost everywhere we went. Because you would cramp people together on a on a on a folding table before and it didn't matter how many people were sitting together now we had to have thousands of thousands of extra square feet of space which not only takes time and energy to find but money to pay for it and says the cost of shutting. Down production is astronomical. Would any moment somebody could get knocked out. And if it's an actor you try to shoot anything you can shoot without them but you know we have a couple of characters who are in most everything and so if you lose one of them for two weeks you would have to shut down And yeah it's it's you know. Millions of dollars reimann says they went above and beyond cdc recommendations a lot of testing a cast tested. Every day they worked and before they worked And then also any rehearsal they would wear masks like anytime we would travel them in vans that had plastic shields and we wouldn't let more than two people in the van. The you know the drivers were tested. Ryan says there's no one conventional way to land to this kind of job. I personally came up through the production office. So i came out more from by chance but i came up that way sort of became. Learn how to manage the office. That i became a production manager Which was really more of a you know. Day to day detail Managing the crew in the money and the equipment and things like that and then went into producing from their rhyme and went to college at george washington university in d. c. in nineteen ninety got a theater degree and then a couple of years in theater was just sort of a rough go financially like waitressing during the day. Doing you know theater at night. And i decided to get into something else in entertainment and i didn't know what i wanted to do so i did. It took a continuing ed program at nyu in filmed for three months. And i thought. I wanted to be a director photography so i started working low budget. No budget shows As a camera assistant from their ryan got an internship at castlerock in an office for a rob reiner movie called north in one thousand nine hundred ninety three. She says she started to appreciate the business side of showbiz. They hired me on halfway through. They started paying me as a production assistant And i just kind of looked down every path could possibly be and the only place. I wanted to wind up with producer so It wasn't a straight shot. But you know. I knew that so. I kind of enjoyed learn from everything i ever did. Raymond says back in those days interns were unpaid. So i worked for like lunch and you know i worked in the office. Production office and i You know answered phones. And i took messages and i copied papers and i made coffee and i organized the all the things that you do when you start out in our business ryan has been involved in a lot of productions by worked on things like north and i q and a legend of bagger vance and sort of some of the larger sort of movies back in the nineties That were made are based in new york and then segue slightly. I took a couple years off. I have two children. I took a couple years off to have my kids and then it came back in. I started Kind of managing more at that point going into more indie kind of movies. I did things like the funeral. I did It's it's kind of funny story. And i did Sort of like slower.

"Threw a bag of gold at her as he left on the ship. So okay you know. Pillage some innocent villagers i assume. Okay or maybe he stole from. I don't know you just pyramids that'd be fine so he's a so you're saying that you would rather be a grave robber than a guy who gets blood money like i'm just making sure i understand him still from the dead than the living. Okay okay checks out. So he's a grave robber walls and then pippi her. She was inspired by just like all the strong characters that astronaut ever knew superman. Tarzan to those are boys. But i mean still strong house in wonderland that totally checks outside of the crazy world and green gables red hair and just that strong. I'll do whatever i want. And then smother things that i've never heard of so pippi is something i this came after peppy but who she reminded me of in. I mean pippi. Longstocking still a well-known name. But i don't feel like she has cultural cachet in america that she probably did decades ago the character that's a little more contemporary that. She reminds me of his louise at the plaza have. Did you read those books or watch. The movies Okay in our house. We love l. Louise at christmas time. We watch it every year at christmas and she feels in personality very similarly to pippi. Longstocking was almost certainly influenced by pippi longstocking. Because she's but she's not superhuman. She's a six year old girl who lives at the plaza. Hotel Her mother is always away but she has a nanny so there is a parental figure. But it's not. She basically can't contain her. She's got a huge personality. She runs all over. This plaza hotel drives many of the adults insane but she's also very big hearted in cares a lot about people in as a loyal friend. She has a Turtle and a pet dog named weenie. Can she lift them over her head while he's a tiny dog so yes but. She's not a superhuman child but she's has is basically very precocious very rambunctious in very kind hearted So as i was watching this movie. I realized she reminds me pippi in l. Louise have a lot in common and probably as a more modern character that people would connect to and if anyone needs a good christmas movie we would recommend the well. I'm command elway's at christmas time which is very cute on in it. Oh well then. I will totally watch it. Yeah it's based off the children's books there are two movies and i'm going to say where they came from. And you're gonna go you gross based on your in my taste. But they're not anything like other hallmark movies they were comes from the two thousands but they feel like more like i mean you can tell. They're made for tv movie. But julie andrews jeffrey tamboura christine baranowski like it cast this little girl who plays l. louise's great and she just gets into all sorts of shenanigans. Just like pippi ice. I can hear my mom t boeing that she. That's awesome well fun fact. Pippi did inspire has inspired other characters. And this was fun for me. Because i love this book series and it is a totally different. Take.

Abella that dwarf in the diner in the movie the most dangerous woman alive dick wad. But that's not what i'm looking for. Yeah return to us. He played the tin man. How is this the person we're talking about the most in this movie because its name roy. But i'm just saying like if you look at the cast on this movie this guy's not the one we should be focusing on. I think we're just avoiding talking about jim carey on. Let's talk about taylor. Remember flash gordon push boom. Oh yes what. A silly question is that anybody forget flash gordon. Oh nobody should forget. Flash gordon he was princess or us pet. He was an attorney. I one stab the the hawk man in the ass yes. I saw that movie in the theater. Anyway he was when he was and he was drooping cool in return to the jeddah. I i lose so much respect for lucas. When i find out some of the character's names that i didn't know for droopy cool really. Yeah yeah. I got nothing. Well we can't really make fun because we have a character. Doctor knows so. It's true doctrine. Mr didn't take knows college. Mr thank you. He's he's been. He's been taking classes at night. Patrick and molly shannon was betty lou. Who academic irwin lulu okay. Quick side note. I have a strange sexual attraction of ballyshannon. I don't know what it is. And i can't explain it but for some reason i really like it. I don't find that strange at all. I do i do something about it. Is you want to hear my. Oh god look at those teeth meals on. I think i think christine baranowski is much hotter than molly. An i would not disagree with that either. Cage i that maybe i might buy mattson. Was that sentence properly constructed. Or was that just wreck. But taylor mommsen anybody have an opinion on her and his red and killer monson in this role. And we'll talk about her as an adult or as a semi semi-official. But i think she was. Awesome as cindy lou. I do too. I've heard he was really rag on her for this. But i i liked her. She was really cute. She was a cute little. She played the character perfectly. It's not her fault that the character the way they chose to expand the character is a little trite and granted..

"Yeah i can see where you fall on this. My issue with the live action grinch coal. We're gonna forget that exists for a moment. Okay we have to talk about it. They wanna talk about. Yes is that i did not need to know and i. I watched this movie when i was much younger. Probably not as young news charlier cooper but much younger i did not ever need to know what the grinch would look like in my real life. I do not need to experience that. I would see the grid. Search met him like face if base. Irl not animated a lot for children like the animated grandch-. Oh it's a cute little drawing like okay. he's green. He's supposed to be a little scary but he's different and that's okay. You know it's five. I did not need to see a grown man. As the grinch was upsetting to me as a child. And i have carried that trauma. With me. I i do. I will say that. Like both Charlie and cooper found certain scenes. Like when he's trying to be scary early on like when he's trying to freak out cindy lou who in the post office and stuff. They both found that scene. Like like. i'm upset by the grinch. Here i am scared of the grinch because he he does come across as a scary intimidating. I mean for a little kid. Yeah not me. you'll now is yes. I am not scared. If the grinch kissing. Yes you know. I i feel like in in like reference to the original story. I don't think the jim carey the live action version is necessarily doing at the most justice. But i i love it it special place in my heart that i can't really understand why it's combination of the campinas. It's kind of weird. It's a weird movie. Its galaxy weird. The mary wh- the who is the the the lovely lady who who has it. Who has a secret love for the grinch. It's christine baranowski. Yeah i don't remember her. I don't remember her name. Ma- mary may may may married mary. May mary Something that who's at the end. Martha martha martha may. That feels right right. Feel right okay. Okay yeah. I don't know i i like it. I think it's it's just it's weird. It's can't be you know. Gives into tragic backstory. Gives you cute baby grinch to i. Don't sorry said i think it looks like your youngest child and oh my god that's fair. That's fair the cast. I was looking at everyone to see their names and in real life. Looks like cooper really. Yes the actress. Yeah the branch. In the in. The jim carey version does somewhat resemble cooper and like and i will say cooper was all about that even though this was not her favorite version. When like oh my god. Are you telling me. This one has a baby grandch- and you were holding out on me. That there is a baby grandchild could be looking at and freaking out about her entirely. Had a whole conversation about whether Grinch abo might be related that little sequence where they've i will say. I think the music is good is really good in the jim carey grinch too little song but christmas love song play an and little grinches building that little angel. I dunno i love that. It's such a cute little seed. And you know bill to backstory for the grandch- which sydney does not like backstories barrett later. She does not want any sip. No sympathy for the grinch. Here i don't want to know why he suck..

"Together by adventure. Hope y'all stop by and give it so. Listen thanks and welcome back in time to get into the plot four. How the grinch stole christmas we open on sir. Anthony hopkins coming in with a video to try and class up the joint. Apparently the who's live in a universe that is house entirely. Within a snowflake guess when the snow melts sort of like when the sun explodes aka my fantasy and we get shot of whoville which is conservatively about eighty percents stairs. What is that one painting with all the steps downstairs and the the screen. Yeah that's his dream so many stairs just came watching kids so according to the video. Apparently there is no place quite like whoville on christmas. But as far as i could tell it's an absolute nightmare hellscape very bad representation of a dr seuss sanding Start off on the wrong foot with some tuba player. That just ham. Playing god knows what i thought. I those cool gag. The two player has a mini tuba player in it. Do you think the music that was coming out of either. Their tubas was anything that we needed to listen to. I love the music in this man. He gets some. Bnl in here at one point being get some smash mouth. It's you get some emails. I it ills but come on man. Bnl who doesn't love some bnl in that. You know that spices things up a little bit. It's very two thousand isn't it. He l. big time big time a foreign band canadian. Yeah that's four and rock out to some pinch me. That's is that what is it wasn't as i think it was some christmas song released. Maybe it's very bland christmas song. Yeah as time is here again. And we cut into a department store with manic. Who's just love the holy fuck outta capitalism meet cindy lou who her dad simulator. The only one that didn't get to look like some sort of weasel reminded me of have you ever seen. Have you seen the hobbit movies. No actually okay so the hobbit has a bunch of dwarves in it so the three hot dwarves that they want you to follow look nothing like dwarves everyone else's like super hairy and they have big noses or whatever so this is kind of what they did with cindy lou. She's cute she. She hasn't grown into her nose yet. We know they they just don't want you to connect with like a freak of nature. Essentially i don't think christine baranowski has she's naturally who looking. Yes it fits her style. Yeah you pull it off. Yeah but. I don't think she has a news. I don't remember now than we get some teens. Trekking up to the mountain where rumor say the grinch lives the some sort of like how house dare of sorts. Like the old myers place or something like that dare to go knock on the door..

Wear whatever you see on stage. That finished product was all created at Shutler. Schneider says it was affordable so it attracted everyone from Broadway stars to up-and-comers he recalls waiting for an elevator that took forever with a group of college students. And I hear one of the girls say boy I just WanNa get an agent and be successful. I don't know what's going to happen next for me. At the same time she gets on the elevator the other elevator doors open and I swear to you. Christine Baranowski walks out to me. This is incredible. You're watching someone who's reached the peak of their journey right next to someone who's just beginning their journey but that's Shetler and that happened like on a daily basis. Shetler is part of the New York theater community as much as Phantom of the opera or something way more visible is theater and cabaret producer Jennifer Ashley Temper. The second that this was all announced and I posted about it so many people came out of the woodwork. To like talk about Shetler. There's no one that hasn't worked there when he heard. Shetler was closing Lin Manuel Miranda's sent out a tweet recalling how he tried out Hamilton material there. Oh my goodness. The odds of sadness in grief over the death of the studios has been literally overwhelming owner run. Shetler opened his facility. Thirty years ago it grew to twenty three thousand square feet on three floors and we pride ourselves in being a professional home away from home. Not only for teaching acting and singing but for auditions rehearsals in performing all in complex for Fifteen Years Janice Goldberg Co directed. The End Theater Company. A tiny off Broadway group and says she sometimes spent five days a week at Shetler studios. It's almost visceral loss. If you've spent so many hours in a place doing something you love and bringing ideas and people's work and your own work to fruition have that energy behind you and then all the sudden that's taken away forever. It's a blow but owner Ron. Shetler says he felt he had no choice but to close the enormous way to finances required to put everything on hold in the fact that everything that we do in the studios can't be done under the confines of the covert Pandemic Protocol and that the entertainment world will be the last open up again. That made the decision quite imminent. I DIDN'T WANNA stick my head in the sand and just Deny what was going on again producer Robert Schneider. It's very hard for me. Because the beginning of my career in the city was all done at Shetler I practically lived at Shetler and now I'm going to have to find new home but those memories I would not trade for anything for NPR news. "In a five zero needs to be treated as well known. But, you know. The internet disagrees with me on that one. So I, I think probably will have to honor it in some way, I guess this is the thirty fifth annual year work. They will be held on August third at the Beverly Hilton. It is as always not a televised award show, but this year's show will be hosted by Jesus. And mirrow of Showtime's gives American have you watched? Yes, I have a you enjoy it very much very much. Yes, it is. It is a it is a really funny show and I, I have enjoyed I've enjoyed the move from once a week to twice a week but I don't need them to do any more. I just only because I don't have time as simple as that don't add more because I do not have time, but yes, so it will be hosted by Greek Diese scenario who are also as we will get to an event nominees this year, which is very nice. And yeah we, we give awards in thirteen categories. I believe it tends to be a reasonably brisk show back ten or fifteen years ago, we used to be able to do the show in only a hair over an hour. It's probably expanded to closer to ninety minutes. But even that by award show standards is pretty brisk and yeah. Very much looking forward to this year show, which will also Mark the end of my presidency. So, so it will be momentous and, and milestone in that respect as well. Let's go through the nomination, he individual achievement in drama. And again, you don't split these up by. Bye bye. Bye sex. Yes, we do not split them up, by by gender, or supporting so is all it is basically six four best individual drama, best individual comedy. No rules, no walls, Newbury area, go. All right. Any Adam sharp objects. Patricia Arquette escaping. Dan Amora Christine Baranowski the good fight Jody Comber killing eve, Billy porter pose, Michelle Williams. Fosse verdon. That's a, that's a pretty impressive list of nominees right there. It really really really is. I I love that list. That is a that is a list of really great performances that also does a terrific job of covering up. How generally subpar the awards races in the drama categories are going to be this year? So by including movie mini series performances in there, we managed to make it look pretty solid. Those those are great performances every single one of them and it's to some degree in EMMY preview because you have all the lead actress in a movie, many people, who I've been talking up, so you got Adams versus our cat versus Michelle Williams. But Billy Porter's domino, impose Jody Tomer is just grade and killing me. And I'm happy to see a little bit of respect for Christine, Bransky and the good site. Because it needs more being talked about right? Individuals even comedy, Pamela Adlon better things Bill. Hader berry Julia drivers veep. Natasha vying for Russian doll. Kathryn, Harvey shits creek Phoebe Waller bridge for fleabag. Well this category to the thing. I love most about this category. Is that pinball at lawn Bill heater? Natasha, Leone, and Phoebe Waller bridge, all our creator stars and pedal, add Lon Bill Hader into touch owner, all creators stars who also directed episodes of their shows also directed intact among the best episodes of their shows. So, yeah, just a just a another great category. And then you have Catherine O'Hara. What, what can you say about, Catherine O'Hara? I mean she's, you know, she's a legend and so between. So, so, so if the people in the category, who aren't creator stars just happened to be Catherine. Right, right. You're doing you're doing. Okay. And you also putting you're putting a premium on the amount of cheese that you have to have, you know, this is a fantastic category. I would have found room for Robbie USA of lose Ronnie here. What can you do? But yeah, Greg category powerhouse category. And honestly, both of these categories whoever wins is gonna deserve to win there. There's not a person in this group of twelve who would not be deserving where now standing team teammate news and information. Sixty minutes American to me, leaving Neverland our planet, the racial Manno show and surviving R Kelly interesting group right It is. And reflects the a lot of heavy stuff on TV and information that to me the, the best in this category by a wide margin, as America to me. I get the feeling that a lot of my colleagues have not seen America to me. And you know, there's there's just a lot of TV out there. There's nothing there's nothing. I can do is to tell people that American be was the best thing that aired on television last year. And so it goes but yes category. And a lot of different kinds of stuff. So that's the nature stuff. You got your various portable sexual stuff. You got your newsmagazine stuff, lots of stuff. They're the best achievement. Reality dominated by net flicks. The great British baking show, making it nailed. It. Queer is salt. Fat acid heat tidying up with Marie condo. I watch a lotta reality to this is not the reality TV. I watch that is that is basically. And, you know, God bless is all I can say that. You know, there's this, this is the teaching awards. These are not the Daniel fiber awards. And so, you know, I might have written down top chefs list of nominees and if it didn't make the cut that's fine. This is honestly a group of shows that I have very little opinion on. But I'm sure there. Yeah. Okay. Outstanding achievement youth programming Arthur Carmen, sandiego, Daniel tiger's neighborhood, muppet babies on squad Sesame Street. The above. These are not shows that I watch myself so much, but, but I strongly encourage ETA members with kids or interesting TV in kids programming to vote wisely. Out of standing achievement in sketch variety shows these marrow as you mentioned full-frontal with Samantha b I think you should leave which she's got renewed last week last last week tonight with John, Oliver late night with Seth Meyers, the late show with Stephen Colbert. Those are good shows, you know what I what I always want to find room for daily show here to cover. No. Absolutely. There are a few other comparable shows. But once again, those are those are all great shows. And so whether my vote would be for last week tonight with John Oliver or narrow. I am I am happy with the wide variety of things that are there and happy that Saturday night. A lot didn't get on there. Whatever outstanding achievement and movie or miniseries. Chernobyl deadwood, the movie escapes, Dan, Amora escape tomorrow. Fossey Verdon sharp objects. And when they see us all. There ain't nothing down there. Those are all, you know, some of them are really silly almost all of them are really tough to watch. I would say the dead wood movie is the one that's not up to watch both because it's short and also or relatively short. And because if you're a dead wood fan, little, just move, you along and be emotional the whole wave. But otherwise some of these are tough to watch Burton's a lot of fun just occasionally fun to noble. And when they see us are they are not like homework, but they are definitely like taking yourself into a dark, dark place by this hours. So, but there they're also good standing new program. Dead to me the other to pose Russian doll succession and what we do in the shadows. Good category. I would have liked to have seen Ronnie there. That is a, a personal preference thing I would have liked to have seen who spent fifteen there. There are a few shows, I might have liked to have seen, but not because I think any of these are, are bad shows even the ones that I think are a little bit lesser. It's more of a subjective thing, the other two, I simply don't find quite as funny as some people do, but lots of people who I think are very, very smart on that show. Extremely funny and be I was just another break category. And whether my preference would be for succession, or Russian doll or pose for me. There would be no wrong choice there, there, probably are less race rate choices in this category. But all right. There's some good choices to achieve drama better. Call Saul, the good fight homecoming killing eve pose in succession succession in the drama categories. We've discussed Dan to comedy. It should be noted that I would these comedies are actually nominees that I have said you're very publicly in in my writing are comedies. I've also called the good fight. Very clearly a dark comedy. I voted succession as the drama because I knew there was no way it was going to get. I got some sometimes my own personal indignation and preferences and principles have to be put aside in favour of pragmatic reality. And this was a case there, there was no chance, especially once succession was the drama for EMI purposes. There's no chance it was getting the comedy feels regardless of how indignant I may be. But all right. So what is the drama? It'll do. It's and honestly, given how weak the drama roster on TV has been this year. That's as close to a right group of sixes I think we could have gone. So I'm happy with that standing. If you've been comedy berry fleabag the good place. Marvelous Mazel Russian doll shits creek and veep. All very good again. Once again, the very little to complain about their, this is the only category in which there are seven nominees 'cause there was a time. So Huzzah, it let us get in one additional show. I'm not gonna say which one but are very, very happy with all those nations, those are great show and then finally program in the year turnover noble fleabag game of thrones pose Russian doll when they see us so did most notable thing here. Clearly is that game of thrones is nominated here and not for standing itchy drama. That is a reflection on the fact that the program of the year, category takes into account more than just whether something is good. It takes into account basically, what its place was in the euro television. We decide it's game of thrones. Even if I didn't love most of the season I understand why in. When I die, I can I can justify and otherwise, there are a lot of great shows, so there you go. August third of the it will be announced, and we'll obviously we'll talk to you before then, but there it is lots of TV stuff to talk about. I was going to start with the bad about net flicks. But I'm going to actually start with the good. And then we'll end with some bad usually do it in reverse. But today, I just feel different. I'm going to actually turn this into an AB fab to absolutely. Okay. Broken record. You've heard me say this before. I'm going to tell the end of the story. I with this ad fab. I got to the end of a program. We we we we watched a lot Thursday night. We are blessed with a lot of good TV and by got through it all and I got to the end of one particular program, and I'm not joking. I threw not aggressively. But I threw my apple remote on my coffee table. And I shook my head and I looked at column in the dogs. And I just went this is such a damn good show. I just can't stand it. I can't stand it. I want to run outside and tell people and Nash show. Once again is the good fight dawn. Did you watch the season premiere? No, I've never watched more than three episodes of the good fight. I just couldn't get into the I loved the good wife. I think that. Yeah. Go on. Yeah. The three taste testing. Couldn't get into it. Maybe I really aligned with Juliana market lease on the show. So it was not having her on the show. Just made me feel like I don't know. Well, and also, you know, what's interesting. Don, Don, is you binged in you watch the good wife in it, you concluded that very closely. So you're still mourning Alicia. No, I'm not actually kidding your morning of that character's pretty fresh. So no wonder you know, what? I mean your God. I'm not joking though this show just keeps getting better and better and better and this season three premiere. Entertainment Weekly when we did the story two weeks ago or last week when I said their headline was the good fight is the best show on television. You can kind of go home. Maybe they're just over blowing it no girl. So what is it is? The plot is new characters is a drama. It's a new characters coming in that we haven't even seen like the season long preview. I felt like I was having sex. I was watching. I was watching the season. When they go this season on the good fight. There's a new character coming in by Michael Sheehan who looks like a crazy lawyer who just looks bonkers, and I love it is the recipe. Great cast. We've talked about them led by Christine Baranowski fantastic writing snappy, plots that move like this. Inventive storytelling. It's unlike any other show on TV. And it is so far this season three premiere was so fast paced. It was it's so good. It's these spin offs are. So, you know, also why this deserves attention spin offs are so darn hard guess or so darn hard to capture that lightning in a bottle. I mean, look at the graveyard of TV Joey, you know, after friends after mash, you know, there are very few Frazier's out there. This is Frazier. And I'm not talking Christmas trees, this is to me. I was I was working on our show. Here's I know this seems like a weird anecdotal thing. But I I'm usually as Alexa, says multi purposing, multi doing laundry or whatever. But I'm really usually working on the show during primetime hours. I'm constantly on my phone when I'm also ingesting television. I'm scanning the internet for stuff for our shows for the shows. I did not look at my I looked at my phone wants. And actively put in purposely put it down because you were so much on screen that was captivating. And I know that sounds silly. But that's a really good sign people for me. That's a really good sign can't fold laundry you have to pay attention. No. I do obviously because we do a show together. And we compare notes on shows. I say this a lot. But I do there's a reason why I thought of you especially in this season and last season to you would love this the plot. I don't really want to give away the plot of this first episode. But I when we got to the end of it I thought oh lex could get to this season. You e- you will love this. I think you'll like it. Maybe I Don I forgot that you didn't like it. I in a different memory of that. But yeah, lex. I think you will like it. I do I really do think you'll like it. So the good fight. It's happening. Don't worry, please. I really think you will enjoy you'll love the cast your, I don't know. Dab dab, everybody. Yes. All access CBS all access the good fight Christine Baranowski. Will you marry me? I mean, she is. She is so phenomenal. No wonder she's won every award. She was just inducted, by the way, she was on coal bear. She's was inducted going to be inducted into the theater hall of fame. Well, much deserve. Oh, come on. She's one of the best. Gosh. She's so God. So anyway, dawn, I I I wonder if you would maybe have liked season to better. Yeah. 'cause they move away. Yeah. I I felt like there weren't enough of the characters core characters from the good wife on the good fight. And it just the ones that were left weren't enough for me to all. Oh. Too many new characters. I get it new story lines where I'm like, I don't want to care about you. What are the other people seasons with or whatever? See lex, maybe feel different because you're further away from the show. So you would come at this with a little less morning. You know? I enjoy and then the second season brings even more new care. They got rid of some of the people from season one that I didn't like anyway, they realized who was popular and who wasn't and season. Two was like. Okay snaps. Snippety snippety stab Mary writes to us Mary Minneapolis rights to the three of us. The good fight is the best thing on TV jas. I also never looked away at my phone for the entire hour. Yeah child. It's so good. Anyway. House. Are you re watching because my m c he has watching it for the first time so companion, I male companion. Man, crush is. He is he liking it. So far. Oh, yes. Hill house. Oh, yes. Oh, it's so fun to watch. Again. You guys is it for just knowing the end and re watching it. Oh, yeah. How we see a lot more. You do. Does he don't know? It's just all becomes. I mean, there's so much and they go back and forth in time so much and the little clues they give you along the way it's cool to see those rewatching action. Yeah. So let's if you just tuned in the two shows, we just discussed haunting hill house on Netflix and my fat for today. The good fight, which is a spinoff of CBS's. The good wife is on CBS all access, and I agree. My bottom line is I agree with Entertainment Weekly, in my opinion. It is if it's I don't know. But it's the best thing. It's one of the best things on television right now, without a doubt in my mind. Top three top five written produced acted everything. It checks all the boxes. Need a good day. That's what that's do. There's just. You know with the new thing new shows coming out and everything that we know we're gonna talk about sometimes you just have to jump to that new show. Just to watch the episode knowing that eventually we'll get back, but if there's already two seasons, plus a few episodes can feel a little overwhelming. I luckily these are shorter seasons to that's the good thing. So. Yeah. Six fourteen we're gonna take a break. Okay. So I give you the the good news now Donna, and I will give you the bad news about net. Flicks. Something something sad has happened. Plus is it back? What does elect I'm very excited for this?
