I've always kind of been a yes woman. I think that's just how. I am naturally inclined to live my life. It's like i want to go to work. And then i want to go to spin class and then i wanna go out to dinner and then i wanna come back home and cook my own lunch that i take it to work the next day and i'm going to bike to work. I'm going to do it all over again. And you have this huge appetite for life. You were like the queen of the eleven pm cooking projects right right and it's funny because i remember kind of reveling in what i thought that was doing for me. I was so into the idea that these ten thirty pm like after everyone who gone to bed like cooking sessions where i was alone in the kitchen like my roommate's gone upstairs. Whatever i was so into the idea of it being like my meditative zen zone. I was like this is how i'm relaxing. It's like no you're not you're being a psycho And i wasn't meditating. I wasn't relaxing. I was filling my mind with the minutia of what do i need to prep. Warsh what do i need to slice so that my brain could not contain a single other thought from my terrifying little brain
Why Your ABM Strategy Isn't Working With Kristina Jaramillo
"Christina. Thanks for joining me. Thanks for having me billy. I'm looking forward is conversation. It's my favorite topics. That will have fun with. It will be fun. We'll be fun so for those that don't know you or much about personally b. m. tell us a little bit about yourself and personally b. m. short sure personally. The end has been around for over ten years. And we've kind of evolved with account based marketing. We've taken we take very niche approach. Hence the personal bart's typically people will say we're running an abm account based program. Were running with like maybe three hundred five hundred accounts. We usually only have about two to three dozen accounts and we're focused on accounts that are fitting the ict to a t. And have the greatest revenue growth opportunity and we work with tech Sas firms people with complex sales longer sales cycles six and seven figure deals and even companies in the logistics three pl space to either we focus on a couple of things win protect or expand key accounts and again. They're going to be the ones that have. The graven is greatest revenue growth potential and greatest expansion opportunities while awesome awesome. So how'd you get into you. Know how did you guys get into to doing this with personal. Abm yeah well. We started just Lincoln marketing originally with small businesses and consultants and we. We saw that account based marketing was coming about it. Hadn't really been given that buzzword that official title And we noticed that it was working on lincoln but it needed a spur. Special tweak to it needed an extra layer of relevance that personal layer not just relevant to the rank individual but to the actual person. So what matters most to them as a person as opposed to a buying committee organization or even their department
Apple Still Has a Lot of New Stuff Coming
"Apple had their keynote. I believe that was yesterday. And it's been a pretty chill dc. At least from i out side observation of like from the smattering of conversation. I've seen on twitter And like in work chats and steph. It feels like this one. It's it's not the not the fireworks show as it were right. Yeah i would agree with that. I feel like and this is true. I think for microsoft is true for google ceo lake. Not there weren't great announcements and there weren't things that people are excited about but this it's almost like we've had like last year there was a lot of maybe part of it was allowances because we've been in the pandemic that point for just a couple of months and things have been built up and and this year it just feels like know. It's fine but there hasn't been anything that's being like. Oh my god like it's like last year you know the in one mack was obviously going to be massive regardless right it took on an even bigger kind of prescience with everything that was happening in the world. Now is just kind of like okay. There's some cool stuff coming but nothing. That's going to you know like revolutionize everything no i really agree with that christina last year with the move to 'em one i mean this was that was like the the nuclear weapon of w. d. c. keynotes 'cause every apple developers. How is this going to work. Where am i going to be able to get hardware. What's going to be compatible. How oh my god am. I am i. I mean that was last year's keynote. So anything into that is is going to be low key and i also. I think it's worth saying that like a lot of my fears. From last year's keynote largely did not come to fruition. It's been very smooth transition

Eminem mathers parks chrysler outside. Detroit's fox theater inside a black choir. Ads their voices to the music from the stage as marshall walks down the isle onstage. The rapper turns the cameron. Says this is the motor city and this is what we do. The what we do was clear. Detroit has always been the center of american car manufacturing. What is Conditional Food Neutrality?
"Month we talked about conditional food neutrality based on exercise and movement and this topic was really interesting because what we wanted to do was kind of set the stage a little bit about how we create these conditions around when it's okay for us to have neutrality. A lot of it's really based in in rooted in calories in calories out from a weight control standpoint and a weight loss standpoint that we've been that's been like ingrained in our minds over the years for such a long time and last month we really talked about. How do we combat those conditions. And how do we bring movement into our lives in a joyful way. That's not wait related. And not wait. Comb control related. So that's what we talked about last month and this month for taking a very similar concept around conditions and applying it to body image body neutrality which quite frankly you're listening to see might be thinking. Oh that's not a light topic and you're right so heavy topic. Were super excited. Bear with us. We have some awesome guests coming up this month and dana. And i wanted to do a little bit of a set the scene. Yes so when we're thinking about conditional food neutrality as applied to exercise and fitness as we talked about last month it what that looks like is basically i can eat what i want as long as i exercise or i can eat carbs as long as i'm going to exercise or i just have exercise or i don't have to feel as bad about eating this because i've exercised already which as you can tell from the last four episodes that we've done which we will lincoln. The show notes is really tight in like christina. Said to the calories in calories

It's just it's a hobby. It's something i like to do for myself. But i don't need to scale it up in any way now. I would really love that. I think you know. I bought this second home As an investment property. But i'm going to have a friend's limit so it's interesting because i'm not preparing it for myself but preparing it for best friends so i wanted to be special in. Have all the good bits. It could be a blended things so So i'm going to share my my process of redoing this houses i really doing it from like completely redoing it and it's already been a nightmare to be quite honest with you. I was like i'm contractors. Right a wit is with contractors. Well i don't. It's it's tough. It's tough to find. Because i think it's like one of those things where you can go to or school but it's not like i mean it's there are definitely good contractors out there but i think good contractors are so in demand. Good subcontractors are so in demand and a lot of them you know because of the demand. Sometimes i'm guessing they don't necessarily have to show up or be on time because they have a you know many options before them and i don't know i would probably have to deep dive a little bit more with the specifically with the contractor to find out but it is tough and i always have a person that i think is is good Shows up in did they. Did they do the work. And but it's it's difficult to find because you also you know you also become a director in a way because you might think that you're being very clear about the vision you have for a room and then you show up. And it's like oh they tiled reverse. They're like oh why did Did i not Where was the miscommunication. So you have to really be comfortable with the fact that forty percent of the shit you try to do. We'll probably go sideways. When you're when you're renovating something astounding to me. So i agree with.

They're so good is because they always had activities for us. Yes you're like a game night esteem night or you know would have pizza ni- and they had such a good group of friends that i feel like they brought us all together and when they moved away we didn't get to see each other as much was nice reading into you guys too. I think it was almost two years ago. Honestly i don't even remember what timelines are anymore. I don't this might have been almost years ago. But yeah and let's talk about that line to get into the vanity fair party. Never do it anymore. I'm like 'i raving forty minutes to get into a party that then everyone turns around and walks out well another party. I'll tell you we like it because it's kind of the main we normally will go to the l. John party obviously not this year because everything changed but and then we end up at the first thing i gotta say they cater it within and out and death pretty rad to be. Everyone's in their fancy clothes you see people like clasping their oscars and then eating in and out cheeseburger. It's absolutely delightful. I particularly. I don't mind i'm not aligned. I don't love waiting in lines. But i i will wait in line for that one because it is. I'll tell you why you don't mind. You're not wearing six inch heels. This this is very true. This is one hundred percent true. I hadn't even in my mind a little bit more next time. I'm going to do it. I'll wear the six inch heels. This is what christina hendricks was talking with that burger. 'cause you won't be able to move his but there but the david neil parties first of all i'm i think being their kids must be the most amazing experience in the world because they're david neil occupy the space in between this very childlike wonder of just like loving. You know the muppets and all sorts of fun like halloween. Halloween costumes are so intricate. And then also they are exceptional art collector. So it's this melting between like this kind of fantasy world and also incredibly academic high art and and the magic and and the haunted mansion from disneyland and their secret rooms and the food is whimsical delicious. "Welcome to five minutes in churches hosted by Dr Stephen Nicholson where we take a little break from the presence to go exploring the past travel back in time as we look the people events, and even the places that have shaped the story of Christianity. This is our story family history. Let's get started. On this episode of five minutes in Church history, let's talk about a poet. Christina Rosetti she was born in eighteen thirty, and she died in eighteen, ninety four. She was born into an Italian family in London. This was a very artistic family to her. Brothers were painters, and she was a poet. Her father was a poet, and he taught at King's College. He was a political exile from Italy and spent his final decades in London and in England and of course. Course Christina Rosetti would spend her entire life in England. And as she was turning twenty, she became engaged, but it was broken off when he converted to Roman Catholicism. She would remain single the rest of her life. Since the age of twelve, she wrote poetry that was eighteen, forty two. This was the era of Tennyson and Dickens and the Bronte's in Elizabeth Barrett Browning, this was the era of Victorian literature, and into that Pantheon is the poet, the Anglican poet Christina Rosetti. Her First Book of poetry was published in eighteen, forty seven. She was seventeen years old. It was published by her grandfather. Her first commercially published book of poetry was published the next year in eighteen, forty eight. It was later in eighteen, sixty, two that her book, the Goblin market and other poems was published. That was probably one of her most famous poems in the book that sort of put her on the map so to speak. She wants wrote. How beautiful are the arms which have embraced Christ the hands which have touched Christ? The is which have gazed upon Christ, the lips which have spoken of Christ. The feet which have followed Christ Christina Rosetti followed Christ as a poet. She loved to use Simi's in her poems. You know what a simile is a simile comparison using Laker as in her poem birthday. She uses a whole string of them. She says my heart is like a singing bird whose nest is in a watered shoot. My heart is like an apple tree, whose bows are bent with thickset fruit. My heart is like a rainbow shell that paddles and Halcion see. My heart is gladder then all these because my love is come to me, so she used the similarly in another poem eight better resurrection. She uses to similarities to talk about herself. She says my life is like a faded leaf. My harvest dwindled to a Husk. Truly my life is void and brief. And tedious and the Baron Dusk. My life is like a frozen thing, nobod-, nor greenest can I see yet rise it's Xiao the sap of spring oh Jesus Reisen me. She then follows. My Life is like a broken bowl, a broken bowl the cannot hold one drop of water for my soul or cordial and the searching cold. CAST in the fire, the parish thing melt and remold it till it be a Royal Cup for him, my King Oh Jesus drink of me well, she wrote many poems. She wrote to Christmas carols. She wrote books of non fiction. And in eighteen ninety two. She wrote a commentary on the book of revelation. That same year. She had surgery for cancer. And two years later in eighteen, ninety four, she died in London. Well. Let's go back to that poem in here it again. My Life is like a broken bowl, a broken bowl that cannot hold one drop of water for my soul or cordial in the searching cold cast in the fire, the parish thing melt and it till it be a Royal Cup for him my king. JESUS DRINK OF ME! That's Christina Rosetti, a broken bowl and a Royal Cup and I'm Steve Nicholas. Thanks for listening to five minutes.

Congratulations thank you so much. Thanks for playing today. Thanks bye bye. And now the game where people who have flown very high dragged back to Earth with the rest of us. We call it. Not My job Christina. College is a space pioneer. She holds the record for the longest time. A woman has been an orbit and she was part of the first three all women spacewalks which coincidentally were also the first base walks in which one of the astronauts did not explain to the other. Something that person already knew Christina. Cook Welcome to wait wait. Don't tell me how great debate there. It's great to be with you now. You did in fact set a bunch of Records. You did the first half of the first all woman spacewalk and you also set the record for a woman Staying in space right. Yeah that's correct or android. Twenty eight days three hundred twenty eight days and you came back just in February yet the beginning of February right so about your timing did you really nailed it. It occurs to me though that as unlucky as your timing might be in coming back to the planet you probably are the greatest living expert along with one or two other astronauts with how to survive for a long time being stuck in the same place. So do you have any tips for us? The rest of us were new to this particular challenge. You know I definitely got through with a lot of You know kind of mental strategies focusing on what you have rather than what you don't have and you know all the things the unique things that you're going to be missing one day but I think in the end I've sort of learned since I've been back that the actual way to get through it is just to inherently be a homebody. Yeah that turns out to be the best way to get through an astronaut and during stay at home on earth do so. Where are you now your home at? Houston who are you quarantining with My husband and our dog. Oh Wow and this. You're away from your husband for almost a year and now you're stuck inside with him. Twenty four seven. That's that's an interesting transition. And then of course the year and training before my flight whereas living in Russia almost constantly so yeah about two years apart to twenty four seven together. It has been interesting. It's good good opportunity to you. Know reintegrate and your home life and and With people you love so I feel like I want relationship advice from you just because of that but also because like. I don't know if you've been in space. You know what it's like to be with something like unwelcoming and cold and distant and I could use the well. We try to stay out of the. Nfl vacuous vacuum part. We try to stay in the habitable areas as much as we can so from that I was reading about the fact that when they did the first astronaut the first space program they actually put some women through the same kind of tests and they found out that women were better able to handle the stress associated with spaceflight than men. Do you think that the mercury thirteen? Yeah I've read a lot about those women they're some of my heroes and You know I I would say that I. I didn't notice any differences up there. Guess Fly with men and women and I think everyone handles it about the same. I will tell you where we get asked a lot where things are up there to not really. I'm sorry I didn't want to indulge in any terrible types but I mean is it like at my house where I don't know where anything is it. My wife knows where everything is absolutely like that and I did get a call from my husband asking him where things were in our house in Houston and usually knew the answer. So you're you're in space for almost a year and he still calling me because he can't find his car keys printer. Paper was a big one. Right away yeah wow you. Did you participated in the first of all as all women? Both women's spacewalker hadn't been done before and famously You tried it. But it didn't work because they didn't have a spacesuit that fit one of you correctly is that right yes It it but it was kind of not the best sides ever and we decided it'd be better to to do it with Someone who had a space that was Kinda just the right bit. How would we? You went all the way out there and they gave you the wrong size outfit. Also shopping is even hard. When you're an astronaut this is not making me feel good as a woman had actually get a spacesuit just to get some pockets and in the pants how one thing I've learned about Nasr's they check and double check everything. It's all about checklists and safety precautions. How could they send up the wrong size spacesuit for your space walk well all the spaces are already up there so it was just a matter of configuring it kind of getting it ready and that times always of the essence there you know? And there's there's never enough time to do everything that you WANNA do. So unfortunately yeah just didn't get configured in time been with just wasn't a question of Christina. What was the most beautiful thing you saw? I know the the Blue Ball of earth. Definitely the earth is beautiful. Some of my favorite scenes were one looking down at my home That's an incredible thing just to see where you're from and where you live kind of on that backdrop of the universe and then the other for me was seen the northern lights and the southern lights on the earth from above. I used to work in Antarctica so I saw Tun from below and so just to see that kind of on a planetary scale was pretty amazing. Did you ever look out and go? What is that? I don't like is the guys come here. Do you ever have that one of those moments. I know sadly I'm GONNA have to come up with a better story for that but no nothing was out the window Kristina Cook. I don't know if you're glad you came back but we're glad you did so we could talk to you and we have invited you here to play a game this time. We're calling suit up for a walk in cyberspace. You've been to space so we thought we'd ask You about cyberspace. Which is what we used to call the Internet. Get Two out of three questions about the very earliest days of the web correct and you'll win a prize for one of our listeners. Voice they might like from our show. We'll who is Christina. Cook playing for Carol Mitchell of Memphis Tennessee. So here's your first question. You ready for this. Yeah okay though. Online shopping has pretty much become universal. It had to start somewhere. Which of these was the first known instance of a use of ECOMMERCE had happened back in? Nineteen seventy two. Was it a an internet? Boliden board user offering candid photos of President Nixon or as they called them. Dick pics being advertisement for a quote aura cleaning service or see Stanford students using it to buy weed from kids at MIT. All of the dancers are tough I'm going to go with just be you're GONNA go with be an advertisement for a quote aura cleaning service because it was nineteen seventy two and that's what we did back then. You know now that you mentioned mail yes. It wasn't fact see Christina. They arranged this extraordinary futuristic computer network in one of the first things the kids at Stanford did. Is the Rangers shipment of POT FROM BOSTON? You gotTa love that kind of initiative. All right second question. You've probably heard that Ebay was started in nineteen ninety five to sell the founders collection of Pez dispensers. That is not true. It's an urban legend. What was really the very first thing. The founder of ebay on his brand new site was at a collage made entirely of Dryer. Lint be four pounds of Lard or see a broken laser pointer. Wow that's quite a way to launch a business. Let's go with a a collage made entirely of dryer lint. I meant be four pounds of Lord. No it was actually see the broken laser pointer. The first thing Pierre Roma Jarre sold on the auction site he founded. Ebay was broken laser pointer for fourteen dollars and eighty three cents to a guy who said he collects broken laser pointers and he still has it. "I am fear I quote here is Neil Cavuto of Fox News. It will kill you. He was talking about a drug called hydroxy chloroquine which the nation was told to take by whom I our President Donald Trump yes by president trump. Very good while ago. The president started trying to push drug called hydroxy. Clark is a cure for coronavirus. Even though patients who took the drug had worse outcomes than both patients who didn't and patients who got out of their hospital beds said watch this and put a lit firecracker in their mouths so the president announced that an unrelated this week that he himself was taking it and then later said that it had kept him healthy. This is a real quote from the president of the United States quote. I tested positively toward negative right so no. I tested perfectly this morning. Meaning I tested negative. But that's a way of saying it positively toward the negative unquote so we can say that the drug at least does not seem to affect the patient's mental capacity. He he blows your mind. Listen I personally think he watches a lot of TV. I think he gets his ideas from infomercials so I think he's watching commercials in his doctor. Saying how Jackson chloroquine is like. That's a good idea. Then there was the the UV lights and then the the disinfectant. Give it a week. He'll be undergoing you. WanNa clean up the corona virus. Try Chamois how you just wash it off and throw to the wash. That's it's also crazy to take treatment drug before you have the disease like when. I take advil before I go out to a bar into the thank. You know it's not going to go. Well it's not GonNa Save you look at. You've never gotten corona virus so clearly prevents corona virus. Yes it's all. It's all preventative right. So as you were saying Alison. It's like I drink before the evening starts just so i. I'm not going to get depressed and I'm going to be in a party mood all night long. That's what drinking does your all right very good Jennifer. Here is your next quote. He was a jerk. That was a talking head in a hit new. Espn documentary series that wrapped up last Sunday describing the film's subject. Who is this documentary about? Oh now espn you said yes. It's a sport thing I could give you. I'll get I'll give you this. His nickname was air. Jerk or jerk Jordan I mean he s Michael Jordan was Michael Jordan. You've got the last dance on. Espn it was a documentary about Jordan's career in Chicago. City loved him was loyal to until the very minute he was allowed to leave. The dock finally settled one of basketball fans biggest question. Who was the biggest sociopath ever to play the game? Did you guys watch this? Yeah I I watched all ten episodes. I was saying that might thing about it. Is The guys Michael. Jordan is the best basketball player ever but as someone who watches. I'm forty eight years old whenever I watch really good athletes and listening and he's talking about his commitment was there and he put in the time somewhere in the back of my head. I'm going you know if I put in the time. Do this really. You think that's the only difference between you and Michael Jordan is just nation time. I didn't put enough time. That's it. That's the problem. That's the problem now. A lot of people criticize the documentary. They said Jordan himself was a producer so wasn't going to be like an honest look at his life but was amazing is even so it still makes him look terrible. I mean the big question. The series raises is. Do you have to be a jerk to win? Mas maybe that's I I try to be a jerk and it's just not working out you haven't put in the time and you're jerking the problem I got. I gotta work on that a little bit. I will tell you I. I didn't like when I watched it because when I hear other athletes say you guys like Horace Grant Talking. You had guys like Scotty pippin talking. And even Steve Kerr says that you know Michael would talk a lot of trash and I'm thinking to myself. Isn't that what SP ATHLETES DO? Talk Trash Jerks to one another. But in the end they're like were battle together so I didn't leave going. Michael is a absolute jerk more than any other athlete. I think they're really sought wasn't I mean but wasn't it true that during the documentary twenty years after these things happened Jordan is sitting there being interviewed and he still dissing his competitors from back. Then I mean it's amazing. It just shows what an extraordinary athletes because even at the age of fifty seven he can still carry eight grudges in one hand. I've never related to somebody more. I feel like I carry grudges for decades. I feel like I get I get sports morning now. I I'm excited. I haven't watched it yet. I'm the Michael Jordan of waiting too long to watch something important. South I'll get to. It is to ever greatest there ever was. But it's seeing all distills little clips that I have of like. It's just him by himself on a couch looking at an IPAD. And I'm like at least even Michael Jordan is in quarantine the way the rest of us are just alone watching something all right. Jennifer here is your last quote. It's from the Honorable Governor of Mississippi who was honoring a group of impressive. Young people broadcasting live on facebook Gavin. Christopher Davis DOES HARRY AS CRACK YOUNG MR as one of the many teenagers in Mississippi and across the country who had to celebrate. What virtually his graduation. Yes commencement all over. The country have been canceled because of the pandemic robbing seniors. The chance to sit in the Sun. Listen to an old guy drove out a list of names and complain about commencement so everything went virtual and in Mississippi as you heard the governor went on facebook live to read out the names of graduating seniors across the state and somebody slipped in a little joke. You can watch the governor's reaction as he realizes. Just a second too late. Would he had done I? He's embarrassed then. He gets really mad and yells. I demand to see Harry as crack right. Now I gotta go down the Hall of fame of Senior Pranks Right. Yeah I mean it's a common one. It's funny when if you can get the vice principal to say it during morning announcements. Or maybe even the school board president asked and actual graduation in the gym but to get the governor of your state to do it. That's really the highest achievement. You can hope for because getting the president to do it. These days would be just too easy. He'd be like I know that Guy Great Guy I feel so bad for all of these seniors but like also a graduation gallon is perfect. Quarantine clothing it's no waste of questions like exactly what you would want to wear at home. And you're like I just WANNA wear this out of the house Exactly there have been these virtual commandments. All last weekend all over the country including some nationally televised events. A lot of people were talking of course about President Obama's two speeches but the only talked about the parts where he seemed to criticize president trump. But it's a shame because they missed the rest of his speech which was very in his fashion poignant and interesting the perhaps the most meaningful line was when President Obama said graduates go positively toward the negative because the negative is a positive in a certain positive sense. That one's stuck with me diagram of that sentence is just a complete circle bill to Jennifer doing our quiz. She was positively.

I love laborious because it was it was about characters. And so yeah. That's scary as an actor. Though to have an agency say okay. Go and do it. But we don't want to represent you. It was humiliating. It was awful. It's very embarrassing to be working with people who all of a sudden go. Yeah we're just not interest like we don't think what you're doing is good enough to represent you. You're not worth their time. It's it's awful. They should be embarrassed. Well you know I hope they were and I hope you haven't spoken to and I you know I just haven't seen her because she's no longer an agent but I liked her as a person and I have no hard feelings. There's all sorts of stories in this town. You know what I got to work on that show for ten years and I made the right choice. That's it that's I got another agent. You just go and get another one there. It is people out there who are wondering what you do. Just go get you know you can get another age. Yeah well you good girls to do that. But I'm looking at you and I'm thinking where did the start last time you were here? I don't think I ever asked what it was when you were a kid because I know that you lived in different places when you were growing up. Yeah did you always have this feeling? This was what you wanted to do was at well I started. Dancing was started dancing at a young age. I clearly liked to perform and when we moved twin falls Idaho. I was in third grade and my mom had my brother and I dish for a local community theater. Children's group called jump company junior musical playhouse and she just thought it was. She was just trying to help us make friends 'cause moving from town to town and she she didn't want us to necessarily get stuck in the cliques. At school she she liked the idea of it being community and my mom always liked to do theatre in college and high school so We went and auditioned to be in the best Christmas pageant ever and You know then all of a sudden I was on stage in musicals and doing bye bye Birdie and the chorus in the background and I was like this is. This is where it's at this. This is the most fun I'm ever going to have and I just continued to do it and I just found so much joy and at and singing and dancing and doing the whole thing that I just kept kept going but when you moved again you will go into Virginia to and we went to Virginia after Idaho so when I went to Virginia was the first time that I could take Acting classes in high school as a option. You know as an elective course so my brother. Yeah my brother had been in theater or drama class and so I was so excited because now I was like I can like start to really study. Be Real actress and And I went in and I remember some of the senior students. I was a freshman and they were like. Oh you're really serious about acting and I was like. Oh yeah definitely when I you know and I got a lead in in the in the school play and I was the new kid and I was a freshman and everyone was like ooh fresh. Br One I think it was a blithe spirit. Oh Yeah Ghost. A ghost ghost perfect thing. I had read that. You were bullied at the time when you were going to school in Virginia. Yeah when I first showed up. I was kind of Quirky Weird kid from Idaho that like listen to like new wave music but wore birkenstocks. And like like I. I just like no one could figure out what my story was and I I just. There weren't sort of categories of people where where I went to school in Idaho. You were a kid and I just happened to have like sort of my mom would help me make clothes and I would see something a magazine and we would make some weird snakeskin pants and I just I didn't realize it was sort of odd Until I got to Virginia and everyone was like. Oh you're weird. Trust me here weird and I was like maybe I am and and I immediately went into drama class. Which of course alienates you in some high schools already. Sadly put you with other alienated. And they're the best big creative Weirdos together with the rest of them yes so you know as the years went by then I sort of went through my sort of rock and roll punk goth all that stuff and and just celebrated being different. Didn't they're still? I'm still one hundred percents. People are like. Oh it's so funny that you were. I'm like I am still God. I don't let this Rambo sweater fairly lax eye. Shadow is a black lipstick. Saying yes I will do that. Let's have her. That Goth is bring her temper. Gabby Gabi really. She's the she's in there. You go just vocally in there to do that. Yeah goodness so. Ventriloquist's doll friends. That's weird and God. I'm GonNa Guess that maybe you had I did. I don't know that is risk for me to bring that up. What do you take me for? I went into record my first session and they had some rudimentary Animation and like. Here's your character and of course you kind of looks like me and hear her buddies. I was like Oh wait. I actually have one of those. That's released strange coincidental and I happened to hang out at antique stores. All the time and go antiquing so this environment. That might Gabby Gabby was almost like it. Came out of my own creation. It was exciting to see all right. Well we have questions from social media. Okay so if you talk on twitter when you say social media I know what you know it's Rachel says how will Christina described the new season of good girls in three words. That's good you've given me like three sentences.

"I hope everybody. I'm Peter Travers. In welcome to popcorn where we tell you what is popping in pop culture and. I know you're all excited to know that good girls is back for season. Three on NBC. And it's good luck to have one of the stars of Chuck Andrex. It's great to see you again. Nice to see you. Thanks for having me season three. So what kind of trouble are you women in this time? I'm a lot more. I some reason I root for these women. I know there are up to no good. But they're fun and they're relatable so people kind of have their back there like I'd do it. How do you know? And they've got this real inner it's it's the camaraderie with these women. It's just fun to watch them. Make these horrible mistakes. Is that how you felt when you were first? Approached about doing the series. You know when you when you come from a show that you've been on for almost a decade your next your next choice you you have one follow madman. Well you gotta think something. I would really want to do every day because I may be doing it for ten years. I know what that's like. You know so. You really want to choose something that you could imagine doing. And I thought I want to work with these women and I want to go on this wild caper. It just seemed like such a laugh and so weird and different and it's also very intense so I do you know I didn't sort of consider like a well. I'm going to be incredibly stressed out every day and this high anxiety level and the stakes are really high. Of course you have to play all that you know so. It's kind of exhausting. But what if and now? I'm assuming that you and men ready get along really well. We did from the beginning we did. I knew may casually we had done some Animated things together so met each other through that I had never met Reta I in fact called. May and I said you know I'm thinking about doing this. Show I I hear. You're doing it what he thinks she's like. I think it's going to be the best thing ever and we just like hit it off like house on fire. When we all met and here we are three seasons. And that's we know each other so well we can order lunch for each other in the other person's around we're like no no no. Do not put tomatoes on reticent. Please send it back. We can't deal with it We all know each other and we and we know how we react to things and we sort take care of each other well. It sounds like you know I'm making light of it but to be on a series where you work long days. Yeah so you. It's good if you get along. It's amazing and because we are playing these really stressful intense scenes to have people that you love so dearly to laugh inbetween takes you know. Make the day lighter. It just changes everything. 'cause you're right we're there for fourteen hours a day and and You know it's it's nice to have like comfort him between and just get pissed off together and be happy when something is really making you angry. Oh Yeah we've got each other's back if something's upsetting the other. Were like yeah. Yeah what she said. Yeah we're team because we're scary you know and you could. You could do that. You know your director and Toy Story. Four where you were doing the voice of. Gabby Gabby I read a quote from Him Josh. Cooling where he said There's the thing about Cristina where she has this very sweet affect and an a sweet voice and then she can turn on a dime and being medicine and cold. We're just that calm and we did have fun playing with that. I mean the sweeter the croupier right. I don't know I. I ended up playing a lot of characters that have that dichotomy that they have come across as an innocent. But there's this underlying thing to drive to firefly. I think it started with firefly's the first time I had a character like that. And maybe maybe maybe one lead to another. Maybe when they opened a script they thought now. Who can do this? You Know Christina Hendricks this are doing on firefly so maybe one led to the other. Because I don't think I'm duplicitous. That's my own personality. Christina can do cold and creepy short she can go to increase drake's he's ready to do it for those people that are having caught up yet or just beginning to catch up with good girls. Who were you playing describe this? I play your typical midwestern. Mother middle class hardworking organized but found herself sort of on autopilot and lost maybe sight of her dreams or what her needs were and each cheating on her she found her husband is cheating on her lured that Matt Lillard just so great And then my sister who's a single mother is struggling to keep her child protected and safe and in school and my best friend has a daughter with an illness. And so we all find ourselves in this place where we need money to sort of take care of our families and keep roofs over their head and we. We decided that the best logical solution is to rob a grocery store. And we'll go and get the money Jill with all of our problems and go on our on our way But of course one thing leads to another and we fall into life of crime and it's a quirky show. I mean that's what I would say to people who haven't seen it yet is just because it's on a network. Don't assume certain things about it. It is Quirky and weird and fun and has great music and it's dark and it's an interesting tone that you haven't seen before and I. I really think it's unique but store the grocery store that the three of you rob a fine at frugal which I'm obsessed and I want to start a chain of fine frugal because the crux of that which I think I can give away because well it was three seasons ago. Is that when you think you're GonNa rob to get some extra money to take care of the problems that there's like a half a million dollars there for long to a criminal element in that world. We think we're going to go in and get about fifteen thousand dollars and we come out with a half a million dollars and this becomes a much larger crime than we ever anticipated. And of course it's tied to a whole gang and a whole crime ring that we we just thought it was a grocery store. We didn't realize so else was laundering. Their money there and they find us and now we are sort of indebted to them and you know tied into this this much more dangerous which never stops never stops and the guys that really have that and real yes. So what is there in this character Beth in you? What do you bring them yourself to playing? Well I know you shop at finding the main thing.
