"I imagine. There's a lotta people in tennessee. Just can't each other. That are in a relationship. You just really want to break away. You've been fighting all quarantine inside that trailer park. You know as a chance for you to get a free divorce. Here's a quote from the paralegal at this law firm. There's a lot of people that stay married. Just because they can't afford it can't afford it man. Divorces are expensive. Don't you know who who usually the cost of of a divorce starch from around one thousand one hundred and fifty dollars. Not everyone has that kind of money to drop off on a on a divorce. And of course the government's only sending you six hundred. That ain't enough so we tell people if you can combine your six hundred dollars at the federal government gave you for the pandemic. You can really afford that divorce. But some people they spend that money on you know methamphetamines. And so they can't afford that so now they got nothing but they still want a divorce and the methamphetamine weekend didn't bring them together. You know they tried. It just didn't work well after we've endured the coronavirus pandemic lockdowns. I mean a nation divided during the election season. Some people just they may have reached a breaking point. They just need a way out. So we're offering an opportunity for these people to move on with their lives if they happen to live in tennessee. And then you know so. We're gonna try to help people you know. Because we care about people in tennessee. We believe he'll he'll now. I'm gonna tell you straight off the bat that not all of that was the actual quote from the article. Sometimes i'd like to take liberties. And i almost passed out from lack of oxygen. Who bought them and get my breath. Who unfortunately only tennessee residents are eligible. Interested people should email their stories explaining why they deserve a divorce. Oh man i want to read some of these stories coming out at tennessee. My husband blew up the meth. And so that's it. I'm sorry i don't mean to make so many. Meth meth analogies are mentioned in tennessee story. But you know you gotta gotta try to look at man. Look we're dealing with tennessee here. Okay you guys got some time. You got until february nineteenth. Send your valentine's day divorce email to the law firm. And i know people in tennessee need that amount of time because most of them can't spell it's gonna take them a while to come up with that email. The powers law. I says the divorce must be agreed to by both parties and involved involve little or no child custody issues. Because i i'd imagine that costs a little bit more The only cost that isn't covered parent education classes which are required for divorces involving minors. So there you have it couples in tennessee. If you've had enough just google the powers law firm and sending your email nice thing to do and for the community but also a great pr move because you know well here. I am covering it for them on my podcast. I'd imagine other people are doing the same thing smart. Move dot smart move. I occasionally go in the dollar store to get my paper goods. Okay paper towels toothpaste toilet paper. And i like to grab red bull. I got a red bull the other day. It was a weird flavor. Coconut berry which i think was discontinued. It obviously wasn't a popular flavor of red. Bullet ended up at the dollar store. And i was thinking to myself. Well either. it's not doesn't taste good or it's gonna make hair grow out of my elbows or something weird turns out. No hair grew out of my elbows. Turns out it was delicious. It was great. I recommend the dollar store. I don't recommend you getting the hamas from it. And i don't recommend you get sushi from a gas station. I'm off my off my platform. Hello my fellow weirdos. "Hit that in the hot notes hot notes lead story today. A federal judge in texas has rejected. Gop led challenge monday seeking to invalidate nearly one hundred twenty seven thousand drive-thru ballots cast in the democratic leaning houston area. We've been waiting for the results of this lawsuit. It's a major last minute. Challenge to voting rules in a closely watched state ahead of the election and you know in which some officials have made special accommodations amid the coronavirus pandemic. an appeal is already been made to the fifth circuit And throughout the hearing the judge judge heynen. Gw judge appeared to grapple with the idea that one hundred twenty seven thousand people had already voted drive thru polling centers and weather. If he invalidated the process they'd be able to vote on election day. He goes quote a lot of people would say. Gee if i had known there was a question about voting drive ins. I would've parked my car and walked to the polls at one point. Heynen raise the question of whether drive thru. Voting would be permissible on election day. Heynen said while holding up a book. I'm looking at the statute says on election day. They're supposed to vote in a building so on monday. Christina ford that's an attorney representing democratic parties the intervened in the case Said that provisional ballots. Do not have a check box on them to reflect that the voter had cast a ballot at a drive through location. And if that Nfl voter is found to have intent to vote twice. It is a criminal offence so they would be committing a crime and felt of their own. Voters relied on officials. She said in invalidating their ballots would cause mass confusion and create france a frantic situation with voters trying to figure out if they could cast a provisional ballot in a separate case Now this also happening in nevada. A judge rejected a republican lawsuit seeking to halt early counting in clark county cart county county which includes las vegas over the stringency of a signature matching computer software program and how closely observers can watch votes being counted steve. Vladeck friend of the pod. He's been a few times. Cnn supreme supreme court analyst and professor at university of texas school of law said the lawsuit fits a broader pattern of gop led lawsuits claiming voter fraud quote like so many eleventh-hour voting related suits filed by republicans in recent weeks. The suit has almost nothing to do with voter fraud. Vladic who has intervened on behalf of defendants wrote an op. Ed published in the washington. Post saying rather. It's the latest in a consistent and cynical line of suits in wisconsin pennsylvania minnesota among others that appear motivated by partisan gain assuming that the exclusion of any set of ballots from harris county. Quote is good for republicans so This is vlad blackhawks washington post op. Ed and then. Of course josh pelzer and neil cottrell wrote one two. And that's who. I'm going to be talking to when i speak later in the show. By the way to joshua seltzer. I recorded that interview earlier. And that was before we learned about the harris county decision in federal court and it was also before we learned that republicans also lost their cases in pennsylvania and minnesota today so everybody also check out marc elias on twitter. He's the founder of the democracy docket. He's one of the lawyers fighting for voting rights. So i wonder how many votes he will have saved when all the sudden done follow him. Yeah hundreds of thousands fall. Marc elias on twitter. Give him a follow. You'll stay up to date on all of the voting rights cases. There's like one hundred in court right now. there's so many of them so glad that especially harris county. Like they're doing the right thing down there this is. I mean it's huge. It really is and then in pennsylvania. I saw that people are standing in line for hours and hours to fix to fix their errors on their mail in ballots. They let they were. They were notified that there were problems so they literally waiting in lines and lines and in some cold weather to fix it in. They're like we'll be in this line until into more until it's done. I'm by the way when people ask me. You know this harris county hundred and twenty seven thousand votes It's it's going to go to appeal. It's gonna go to the fifth circuit. Which is a very very conservative circuit. People like oh. We're going to lose an hour. We're gonna losing the supreme court. No i i do not think so. My beans are because the texas supreme court said we have to keep the votes and they're all super conservative and then this judge is a gw judge. He's super fucking sketch. Ask conservative. He's made some shit ask decisions in his time but he was. He came down on the right side on this one and it was. It was a timing thing like you look. They made this rule for driving balloting months and months and months ago and five days before the election you want to q. now q. I love when you say. I don't think i think that the fifth circuit we'll say no and handle loss to the republicans and i don't think i don't think scream quarterly. Hear it and if they do it'll be unanimous. I promise. just watch now. I agree hundred percent. My beans are with your beans. This next one is either something out of a novel. I know you did. I'm so thankful or it's like a political mad lib where you remember those where you just filled in a noun verb and like we'll see what the hell happens. That's exactly what this headline sounds like a russian oligarch nickname. The sausage king has been murdered with a crossbow. Then i laugh. I'm sorry. I know someone lost their life. But it's you know it's another one of those things like you said a heart attack outside of the story building so help me out with the russian last name here vladimir murogov yes that's good mara gov all right we're going to go with moraga. La de meter moraga moraga every vitamin in moraga and his partner were an outdoor. Sonic cabin when they were attacked. Reportedly by two masked assailants. Who own some of russia's largest meat processing plants in the sonnet with the crossbow. Well he is the sausage king of russia's king which means he must be known for his meets. A suspect has been detained. Okay in connection with the murder according to russia's ria news agency. That's a who who who broke that. The individual has not been named. The getaway car was later recovered on the outskirts of the town of east aurora outside moscow. Mr moore wove son. Alexander.

"S. dot com go there do it make sure you go into it so man I want to make sure they get over of this is what I wanted to get okay so I have the yep China is a check notes Stella you know what I know now I try to use as perfect I just I wish it was my ringtone why is that not on I would love that just like randomly out about someone called me and it's just that using so I love the way this is a some dude from from BBC he was saying but it was a pretty significant speech from she's in pain clutching two billion U. S. dollars for coronavirus recovery China to set up a global hub for humanitarian response and he is like they're calling for GM pain cause for greater global financial and political support for the World Health Organization maybe you should've thought about that before you wrecked the world economy and killed thousands of people with your stupid Connie regulations and a virus that came from Wuhan two billion is a drop in the market to them not to us but to them it's a drop in the bucket here's two billion dollars that almost does not even come close to like the tiniest percentage point for what you could have donated to the World Health Organization yourself all these years good grief stop so yeah they're still now this some was on the heels of the whole trump is not going to participate in the Obama White House portrait or whatever which I think is stupid if you're really gonna have the got hit his his administration abused authority power weaponized agencies to try to stop in a free fair election seriously you're thinking about a portrait ceremony so access had the story Jean ping accepts what trump projects an invite to address the World Health Organization president trump declined an invitation to address a virtual gathering of the World Health Organization which proceeded today with addresses from several world leaders but only a blistering rebuke from the U. S. and gut as they should apparently according to sources the president had no interest in doing anything with the WHL he excoriated them if they because they they did they bowed to China and they are simply a puppet of the communist country that is it and he's frozen off funding for the help for the global not even really health agency can we stop pretending that it's a health agency they spend more on first class travel and five star accommodations for themselves than they ever have for like aids malaria and a couple of other diseases combined stop so he rejected it the U. S. mission in Geneva because they invited both him and G. G. Zheng paying and there was a they said that the the World Health Organization monitoring these two leaders together you know at a time when they're being cold to each other to try to create some sense of solidarity who the hell are these sources well we spoke to one of the people who sells cotton candy down by the Lincoln Memorial and they're being cold to each other China killed thousands of people and wrecked the world economy because they're communists and they try to cover up a pandemic that they broke that's not called its murderous it's malicious stop coddling murderers you grandma killers hands the health and Human Services secretary Alex Cesar he gave a blistering speech attacking the WHL and and he is absolutely a hundred percent right on every single syllable he said that they failed their core mission of information sharing true he said that they failed to obtain any info that we needed true they ran defense for China true they lied for China true a White House official told Axios if the W. H. O. had done its job and not enabled China's refusal to be transparent would likely be in a different place right now the whole world would now is not the time for answers now is the time for answers and transparency not a photo opportunity and to convene a false sense of solidarity yeah I know we are not we are all that it is to gather ensures on all knotted together with communist China no they're still Blanco's trip they still are new piece from The New York Times that is ridiculous it's the headline is believe all women is a right wing trap how feminists got stock answering for Cunard now this is the first graph Joe Biden has been accused of sexual assault and conservatives are having a field day they've called feminist Anna hypocrisy trap a woman was no corroboration Bahan beyond contemporaneously counts charges the powerful man with a decades old crime doesn't that sound mighty close to Christine Lahti Ford's complaint against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and they quote Tim Graham and Tucker Carlson calling Conway and they talk about the believe all women and they said that you believe all women was boiler plate your time's running defense as well it's never been feminist boiler plate they said that that believe all what am I won it was a hash and their tons of Democrats and politicians and famous celebrities redundant that have said believe all women like literally that has been used as a hash tag you can look at for even look for it on Twitter they were trying to say that but it wasn't believe all women it was believe women how is what that's the defense but the headline is really goofy because you're you're a saying that the phrase you actually invented is a right wing trap it's not though you've got caught in your own rhetoric Republicans conservatives had nothing to do with that I haven't actually talked about the terrain Joe Biden thing all that much because I'm so bored of the whole Hey guys do you know that the media they're hypocrites all my gosh are they hypocrites on this story yeah they're hypocrites on the story can you believe it no not the media yeah half crazy seriously that's all the commentary on it it bores the hell out of me I am so bored with the commentary we know that the media is biased about it yeah I am I I think that there's more to believe a terror read story then Christine Blasi for word of the Ford story no definitely there's a hell of a lot more evidence there they kept saying where's the credible where's the credibly accused Joe Biden was credibly accused Evans said that that was the phrase that they love the most when it comes to making the Brett Kavanaugh right credibly kiss credibly kids except there's more credibility with terror read all these other women that came forward but here's the thing I talked about it a lot because I don't I'm going to convict people the court of public opinion I'll give you my opinion on it and I just did I don't know if he did or not I don't know why did she come out with it now probably because he's running for president now for all the people who are like why did she come out with earlier well because he wasn't running for president and is that so difficult for you to understand what a Christina's before come out with broken bones you did by the way where is she Tara Reid said that she believed Christine Murphy Ford so why doesn't want it worse for saying I believe Terry he's too busy so she took her go fund me money and put another Winchester Dorner house where did she go she even terror Reid was inclusive enough to say I believe Christina Ford I believe her I seriously have to last name stop it I just can the sidebar I get so aggravated everyone on television was all but like so eager to Europe so since very carefully printout temple the frames what do you get to name share the wealth some people may not have one okay but you can but where she says she hasn't come out should the go fund me money go funny fun money yeah there I mean where where was the and the worst of what was the believe all women crowd so the whole point New York times story is to say well it was actually hijacked after Democrat said it a lot conservatives actually began saying it as a way to point out liberal or progressive hypocrisy so technically now it's a trap that does not even make any sense and they they quoted some conservative people who use that hashtag after seeing Democrats use that and then there was one right up that said well it was never believe all women it was just believe women okay how was that not all women I believe women was there an asterisk by it and the hashtags I don't remember seeing that now they're trying to redefine it now yeah but we are we're is the Christianity Ford I don't I I didn't I actually I don't believe her I don't know if I believe it or not do I think Joe Biden I think younger Joe Biden could totally been a perv because any higher Chris dot or not hire Christopher didn't Democrats put Chris Dodd the one half of the senator seem much in charge of the whole terrorist situation for them yeah if you I'm not telling you that store you guys can Google it because it's gross it's too old to and you know in a young female staffer the other old dude was teddy Kennedy burns seems that a car I guess I don't know but you see my point it's not me don't get mad at me get out of them for doing it and and me having to talk about it because it's news I hear some of that state this workshop so D. I I just I don't know I I I don't believe in condemning someone trying to condemn in the court of public opinion and I did and I've I'm consistent and I think that you you know you have to prove guilt not innocence but I totally would believe the Joe Biden was a permanent younger days now he's trying to be super nice forgetful Papa and I I think they did that sometimes I think he plays it up to sort of put distance between any any belief in his ability to have done anything of what she's been accused you know so I don't know but I think the younger but you could have done it but I just I get so I'm not gonna sit here and just you know it's media media so but it does we know this I guess that's not content that's just saying stating the obvious over and over again to fill space because you were prepared I can't stand the stuff I see on TV and hear on radio I don't actually listen to talk radio but you know but I even read about it all the time I'm like you could have saved like you know many column inches by not doing us but I I just I'm gonna be consistent on that point but I and I can still be consistent on that point and also think that Joe Biden is a perv just saying totally can do that several other order yes house Democrats are telling the Supreme Court they need a Muller grant Denny Miller grand jury materials to decide on articles of impeachment apparently when it was basically de bont and the case dismissed with land that they can't access it anymore I guess they're still Adam Schiff is still going to try to deliver on that for voters since he has nothing else there you go we have more to come we have today and stupidity on the way you don't wanna miss and as we get moving on here super beats soft shoes very cool they actually just brought on I dislike me the Nobel Prize winning scientist on to their team and they work with just the best in the industry and the soft shoes that they have it the combined those non GMO beats with grape seed extract now grape seed extract that's used in the soft chews it's been clinically shown to be two times as effective at supporting normal blood pressure is a healthy lifestyle alone and so better blood pressure because you have oxygen and nutrients getting to where it needs to.

"My personal information has been dragged through every person that maybe hasn't been you know great against man ex boyfriend or an ex landlord whatever it is has been able to have a platform rather than me talking about things that have nothing to do with nineteen ninety three like even if the whole thing with being called a Russian agent that in particular that incites people people actually I got a doctorate from now because they thought I was being a traitor to America I mean these are serious things like and his campaign is taking this position and they want all women to be able to speak safely I have not experienced that if he's watching this what do you want to say to him I want to say you and I were there Joe Biden please step forward and be held accountable you should not be running on character for the president United States you will have to withdraw I wish you would but he won't but I wish you would that's how so on a scale from one to ten ten being this such a big you know being such a big deal and being taken so seriously that Joe Biden as the drop out of the running one to ten where do you see this landing in general with people on on both sides so you had a lady that Christina Ford blase or ever yes yes she came forward when Brett Kavanaugh was going to be confirmed for the Supreme Court if he still got confirmed yet right and I'm not I'm not saying that what she said was any less credible or anything I will just say if we want to go with some of the things that are coming out against this as far as time they were as old and these things happened in high school right now so the timeline was was a little different as well no doubt but she but she came forward and was dragged through the mud not believed by one side and the other side said believe all women this lady terror read out comes forward and it's flip flopped of course because no one can look past party lines I wish this was enough to cause Joe Biden his presidency hopes it won't be I agree with her he's not going to withdraw and I give you about a two they're John it's got a there are people I've seen sent Twitter I believe her but I'm voting for him anyway yeah I I don't I don't get that mentality I don't get it at all only only coming from those people I mean I hate to say those people but only coming from that side when when you would think the tone would be just the same as it was on the other side and we were very open then it is a he said she said you've got the same situation there but I just would like to see some of the same moral supplied by people who applied them in other places because it just shows that they're not really they're selective morality based on party preferences yeah big news today when it comes to Michael Flynn the justice department today said it is dropping the criminal case against president Donald trump's first natural national security adviser Michael Flynn abandoning a prosecution that became a rallying cry for the president and his supporters in attacking the FBI's trump Russia investigation the moves a stunning reversal for one of the signature cases brought by special counsel Robert Robert Muller it comes even though prosecutors for the past three years have maintained that Flynn lied to the FBI in a January twenty seventeen.

Donald Trump has finally beat president Obama. can be impeached. president Ronald what's different teach thank you so much for taking my call have a great day. all right so so thank you for your call I do want to note that this is not a partisan issue out what we have here is the American president soliciting for interference of are you lot shins other foreign power he did that in the context of holding hundreds of millions of dollars of critical military aid to Congress has specifically approved I this is really an American issue and that's why you now see two Republican governors come out and probably say they support this impeachment inquiry you had a congressman Turner Republican of Ohio yesterday saying an open public hearing at that what the president did was not OK. Hannah Clarksburg Maryland Democrat good morning. all good morning either the demographics of the six years and I have to tell you I've never been more disgusted with my own party it has been hijacked by communist Marxist and socialists it is no longer the Democratic Party of JFK or my parents or grandparents who you should be completely ashamed of yourself one here say come the new standard in which we destroyed people you have to do that having all during the hearing with Christina Ford and all about assaulted but I don't remember when or where or how I mean this is just ridiculous and your credibility believes you have no integrity Sir you have no integrity because you turn a blind alley and a deaf ear to what I needed which you claim he would help one billion dollars and so the prosecutor was investigating some with fire that. quote. thank you are for your call so let me address some of the things that you have raised I hear say is absolutely a mess of all hi if it's an admission against self interest so when Donald Trump says he is asking for a favor of the cranium leader ten that's his political opponents at that is absolutely miserable hi it is an exception to the hearsay rule because it's basically and mission against trump's own self interest but let's just take the whole here's a thing away because guess what we've got the actual summarize transcript of their phone call yes this trumpet exactly what it was a blow said trump did. thank you. Angela Oklahoma City Oklahoma independent good morning. good morning she will. are you still. they've been asking. he got in office. it is really just going to listen to your phone and and talk to your phone turned on your television use. well let's figure that out well terror we go to reset in Wyoming a Republican good morning. all I have to say is thank you Mr Lou you hold your head up a new B. crowd. thank you for a thank you for your call appreciate that less than ten minutes before the house comes in for the day after today the house is headed to two weeks of congressional recess I wonder what your plans are over recess when it comes it to this issue are you holding town halls you expect this to be the focus that's a great question so the house Intel committee is a lead on this issue they can continue investigating a but there's a lot of other work the house is doing we have introduced a major bill to lower prescription drug prices this is gonna be something we'll be talking about the next two weeks we also have introduced legislation background checks for guns that we've already passed bipartisan it's before the U. S. Senate wouldn't be putting pressure on the US Senate to take that up for a vote and we also have laws I'm sorry bill was a hope become laws on election security and you also root out corruption when we talk about those issues as well on the gun legislation we've obviously been waiting for a while from the promised legislation from the White House I wonder what your thoughts are about cooperation on some sort of strengthening of background checks in the wake of this story and and how the president has responded to congressional inquiries about it so for a long time and are a would say you know back on ships checks will never have stopped any of these gun crimes and turns out the last mass shooting background checks had been universal when in fact have stopped it and so we have a clue what you're referring to the very last one where the person actually had tried to get a gun was denied by background check and then it got its through a sale that was not covered by the current background checks is there's a loophole and so what we have now is now only bipartisan support with actual case a background checks that it was universal would have worked it's before the US Senate will calling Mitch McConnell. take that up for a vote and then the other question about government funding the Senate passing yesterday that continuing resolution to to keep the government funded for another six weeks I wonder your thoughts on being able to come up with that with a bill that can pass the Senate get signed by the president to continue to fund the government for fiscal twenty twenty I so I I do support their short term C. R. a concurring resolution to have the government funded I do believe when we come back we do have to focus on making sure we have a longer term funding strategy because it makes it very hard for agencies for military and for for other stakeholders to plan we only have these short term see ours can Congress focus on that at the same time that there's going to be a whole lot of focus on an impeachment inquiry yes so we have multiple committees going on we have our Appropriations Committee we have a budget committee we have committees there are focusing on their missions right now house into will take the lead on the Ukrainian issue but all this other work in terms of making sure that we reduce healthcare costs for the American people that we increase our wages but the many good jobs that's all gonna continue not five minutes before the house comes in we'll take you there live when they do installed in your phone calls with congressman Ted lieu of California Robert is a New Mexico Democrat good morning. Lauren how you doing thank you see spell a love the coverage and we appreciate you guys with this it was nice to talk to someone within the range of our Congress Senor it's good to see you I do think you're playing in the trunk everybody's playing in the trunk sent because attention is attention and when he gets attention he tries on whether it's good or bad so all that needs to stop and we need to do something about the infrastructure of our country all our rooms have potholes all our bridges are crumbling I'm in New Mexico so we're going to get the last dollar it's just tell it is but we need to concentrate on what we can do and I'm sure the same is but close gonna win if they keep fighting each other the way they are all the the Democrats are raising their hands seem to give give illegal immigrants free healthcare when we got to pay for all healthcare manage plane and destruction jokes the only to get together and stop all the bickering and fighting you quit talking about Donald hall and Carson I appreciate your call so in terms of infrastructure Alastor might introduce a legislation that would fund or infrastructure needs it was tagged two trillion dollars even some within my own caucus were saying oh that's too much but then the president I'd states and the state of union speech later photo number one point five trillion nice that see I wasn't that that much off because it turns out according to merit his essay civil engineers we have a four trillion dollars infrastructure deficit the next ten years we actually have to work on infrastructure I agree with you so working Russian companies are in fact working on infrastructure and unfortunately the White House earlier this year I walked away took all the marbles went home we're getting singles they may want to come back and talk about infrastructure so we'll see but in the meantime our committees I'm gonna work on these infrastructure bills and will be passing those later this year regionally West Virginia Matalin Republican good morning. good morning thanks for taking my call. I just want to say I am eighty nine years old. I had. in my life. stay in our country in the shade. and. so that extra turn. and right and Hey if god. great. the Democrats gonna bring our country yes I am. I thank you for your comment Margie in Philadelphia Democrat good morning. yes good morning I am all for impeachment and impeachment should be the constitution of the United States that's why he's been in peace how Khan and misdemeanors. and as well as the Democrats keep ME the Republicans keep call and then on the Democrat line they call in all three rounds and three fair does nothing about it first thing out but not I'm a Democrat but I will although the dim grab I'm a Republican then they start to go on and talk about how you know is just ridiculous and come said he could shoot the model for that with new and get away with it these are the people that we knew that said it's okay bonus you me. that's Margie in Philadelphia this morning March on the phone lines the this show only works if people do calling on the correct lines we do try to rotate through the lines to get a lot of different views we trust our callers to try to play by the rules here to have this conversation but congressman Ted Liu on the on the high crimes that the the caller was talking about. I so thank you for this at the question you raised again I want to know that this is not a partisan issue it should not be a partisan issue really is an American issue and a constitutional issue at the present here cut off critical military aid to Ukraine which was helping to push back against one of our adversaries they were helping protect our national security no one disputes that Donald Trump halted that military aid that's just a fact a week later there's this phone call where Donald Trump right after you cranium leader raises issue Notre eight trump request a favor one does favors is to investigate his political opponent bite and that's not disputed because the white house's own rough transcript of the call says exactly that so these are just facts you can't dispute and that's why you have Republicans now supporting this impeachment inquiry including two Republican governors and you see when you ask American people this question now in majority. support impeachment inquiry because they were reading these documents themselves they can read it was a blow complaint it's online you can read and write transfer the phone call it's online and you can make your own decision but these are very great facts congressman Ted Lewis a Democrat from California always appreciate your time come back again anytime thank you. a portion of this morning's Washington journal join us live every morning at seven eastern for another Washington journal on C. span radio you're invited to call in with your comments and questions. "Would you support either of those approaches. You know, I think impeachment is always ultimately a political question in terms of, you know what congress wants to do. I think that there have been enough questions raised about his truthfulness under oath. I think that is a big problem and I would I would I would I would want to see is at least some clear, you know, investigation congressionally about his answers under oath. And I think if he's found to have lied even about minor things. I mean, I used to be the admissions that yet law school and I would counsel applicants. And I would say, you know, there's very, they're very few things in your past that will keep you out of law school because people get second chances. But if you lie about them, then you're done and I think that that applies here and you know, you just can't have that question. Hang. Over the supreme court. So if you were the director of admissions when Brett Cavanaugh applied for admission to Yale college, and you had heard something about the Christina Ford allegation, and he denied it and the evidence was as it was, would you have admitted him to Yale. Possible question I, I hate admissions question because you know, it's, you know, you have to look at the totality of the circumstances. People apply with all kinds of character fitness issues. And I think that there are a lot of relevant. You know, things that you take into account, how long ago to occurred is the person contrite? Are they reflective? Are they able to take responsibility and accountability for their actions? Does it potentially, you know, is it a again, a pattern of behavior that could potentially put other people in danger? So all of those questions have to be answered. You might ask for an interview. You might have other people way in. So it's just not. I mean, it would raise a red flag. I can tell you that. Absolutely. What I can tell you is if that was not disclosed, and it came up later and he did not self disclose that. That would be an automatic denial or even a reputation of admission. In my opinion. Of course, would have denied it at the time and if you couldn't prove it gets clicking that. Yeah. Well, I think it's clear show that whatever happens and if Brett cabin is confirmed and ends up on the supreme court, that that people will continue to investigate this this episode. And particularly if the Democrats take back the house, we'll be hearing a lot more about this and we're very pleased that you could join us on the show to get your insights, and we may have you back on to talk about this or certainly not if this than other matters. So thanks so much offshoot running joining us on skulduggery. Thanks a lot..

"All this. Really don't give a fuck this this like I don't. I don't care like I don't know why people don't understand all the moral of this conversation. I don't understand the wants like you don't have to agree with Connie, was political views. The like is easy. I don't. I don't care about shit Trump's. I don't support Donald Trump at all, but if the man says one thing that I agree with I can can I be, can I not agree with it? Well, this is what I've been. I haven't seen this for two years and people call me fucking all right. For all I'm saying is I go based on the issue if I agree with your opinion on this issue, I agree with it. If I disagree with your opinion issue, I disagree with it. The the reality is I like I like a politician like Trump who is able to say something like that, who able to say a politician, exactly what he is the president. So he's the ultimate one, but I understand the company background. The reality is most politicians would never say what he said right for fear of backlash for fear that their base would leave them for fear that the other side would use it against him. But Donald Trump has created this, like you said, Teflon Don. So he can say, oh, it sucks for young men out there and it's dangerous. That's why this. Why? Why we need someone to say that the reason why was full for Trump to say that is because he just mocked Iman Christine for Christina Ford. You know what I'm saying? He mocked her. So basically he's basically already omitted, you don't believe her, you know what I'm saying? So it's just like, oh, if you all you had to say, I don't believe her, but. If you marker, you make fun of her, and then you make the statement about its dangerous time for young man. People wanna know why you don't feel like that about women. Why does anybody believe her her own friends don't believe her her own witnesses don't believe her like nobody believes her. So what I would you, I don't know I, they've literally ask the people that she said, you know, she gave his witnesses and they're like, now we don't see that. We don't remember any of that. If you believe you're allowed to believe you're allowed to. What I'm saying is if you believe her despite zero evidence, there's no evidence that supports this whatsoever. What you're believing is your own feelings towards Cavanaugh drunk. You or Trump you want her to be correct. You don't really care about who she is. What is allegedly happened? Her what you care about is not having a conservative judge in the in the supreme court, and that's your right, but stop making this about her because you don't care about her. This is a democrat. I don't care about her..

"Journalists worked for the New York Times for many years. If Christina Ford had come to you and told you this story about something that had happened more than thirty years ago and had been as compelling as she was in her testimony on Thursday, and then. She couldn't tell you when it happened where it happened, how she got to the party, how she left the party and you couldn't find any witnesses to corroborate what she was saying. Would you have been able to write a story for the New York Times about heraldic Gatien's. Yes, I think that would know. With the level of corroboration that we have now, in other words to keep saying, no, corroboration is not entirely true. There are people who describe a Brett Cavanaugh back then who is consistent with the the young man that she crying Salat, right? And blacks out. There are people who say to to say, I do not remember that happening is very different from saying that didn't happen or that couldn't have happened. So he kept saying four people have absolutely denied that it happened. Won't know. They didn't one of them. Actually, yes. One of them actually said, you know, I believe her one of these four who he's using as as in his own defense. I think that on the level of a supreme when someone is going for the supreme group, but I, I didn't ask you that I asked you if. You could have written a story about it. Let me climb. I'm saying. That's why I would have written the story because he was a supreme court nominee. Someone Belkin Senator would you have? Would you have published a story based on the evidence that we have on doctor Ford's account? I think I'd say Lisa, let's get the f. b. i. to invent. No, no seriously talk. We should have power to things. One is look. If you're in the the the, the journalism metaphor, you know, you just take more time, right? I mean, what's? What's what's so you take another week another two weeks and and and you see you gather enough reporting, you find those people who were there on July first where she mentions bulls knows four, right? But actually as the New York Times is pointing out the proper metaphor may be, and this was the Democrats position. You know, you're, it's not writing a story about red cod cavenaugh it's, would you high or about lazy affords allegations is, would you hire Brett cavenaugh? So that's to me an easier question to answer. If someone raised the the, these kinds of allegations against Cavanaugh who you you're interviewing for a job, and you know the. Person who brought these allegations to you was credible, and some of it was corroborated, but it would give you serious poets also the standard to which we hill. Trump's accusers, there have been numerous stories of people who accused Trump of doing things that he denies he did and the only evidence in the story, the New York Times stories included are. This is what she said. So yes, absolutely. Well, virtually for the purpose of this exercise, we don't have more time because we have to get to rob Goldstone. So Lisa, thanks for joining us on skulduggery. Thank you. See what comes next back again. Lisa. Really back with more skulduggery. Okay. And now we are joined by rob Goldstone. The author of what may be the world's most famous Email of all time, and also the author of a new book Popstars pageants and presidents how an Email trumped my life Trump is all in caps. Rob, welcome to skulduggery pleasure. Nice to be here. So I've got one question to start off with you, which is that you and I met actually back in March of two thousand seventeen. When I was beginning my research for Russian roulette and you were amazingly forthcoming, we had drinks, you told me all about Donald Trump and his relationship with the Galera ops, his trip to Moscow in in November two thousand thirteen all of which was included in the book. But you didn't tell me about the Trump power meet. Eating and do you know why? Well, that is my first question for you. I know I, you know, I could just imagine people's will gas when I says, 'cause I'd forgotten all about it. Oh, come on. No, I honest. And when this story broke, I was overseas after it died down a little. I thought. I bet my is the cost that thinking you didn't tell me about..

"Do you think our standards have gone down in any way? Do you think that we're more trusting of these women? What? How do you assess the allegations against cavenaugh in light of your own? The vote, the very high standards you used in reporting on need a Broderick. That's a very good in hard question. I do think standards had gone down, but I think the culture has evolved studies of women who have been assaulted have been have evolved, for example, we know now through a lot of work that it's very rare for a woman to make a false accusation. So I think that fits into people's reporting and thinking, I mean, what when's the last time you heard of a woman accusing prominent politician of something like this at didn't end up having a shred of truth in or at least she believed it. So I, I don't think I don't think our standards have changed. I think the culture and the times have changed. I think we're more apt to believe the woman and what the standard seems to be, which was the same standard I had, we could who did the person's, how contemporaneous or who did they tell it all? And you know, in the case of most of these me too stories, there was contemporaneous reporting. Dr. Ford wasn't contemporaneous, but it was five years ago. So I think that seems to be the standard. I'm still a little bit of. I have a mixed feeling on miss Ramirez. I'm just not sure where that's going right now, but it's a fascinating point about about the culture. Evolving and how we look at these accusations differently and that that factors into how we assess the evidence and and whether to make the decision to to publish or not. And that makes a lot of sense to me. You know, we still have to be incredibly rigorous. And as you say, you know, do all the cross checking and and and and and looking for contemporary accounts, but but attitudes change. And I think that is also reflected in journalism sometimes as it should be exactly. Well, we will be watching all this play out on Thursday, assuming the hearing comes off as as advertised, and we'll get a chance to set that make our own assessments of the credibility of the two witnesses scheduled to testify Christina Ford. And I had that. I appreciate you guys. I, I'm just reading that that the the majority in the did you hear committee hired a lawyer to question Dr? Ford on behalf of both the Democrats and Republicans, does that mean that members are not going to question her at all? Well, that's a great question Lois, and because I was thinking about this the other day, when I when I heard that this was something that they might do. I can't imagine that these senators would kind of just sit on their hands and not ask questions themselves. I think it would look terrible for them to to to do that, particularly on the Republican side, which is as it was during the Anita hill. Clarence Thomas hearings, you know, entirely male. In fact, the Senate Judiciary committee there has there has not been a Republican member of the Senate Judiciary committee in two hundred and two years. And it will look so transparent if they hire a female lawyer to ask the questions and and do not. Have you know the spine to ask questions themselves. So I have to think that they will also ask questions, but maybe they'll just leave the hard ones up to whichever lawyer they hire. I dunno, Issakov. What do you think? Well, I'm absolutely certain Democrats are going to take advantage of the opportunity to ask questions. I think I've heard some talk that they're gonna let Kamala Harris play. The lead former prosecutor really tough grueling. Interrogator, but I think you'll see the others weighing in. I've heard Shelton White House saying, of course he's going to ask questions and I imagined. Questions, right? Right, right. Those early gonna, ask questions. The interesting thing will be see how the Republicans do it, but at by the way that does remind me of one other thing I noticed in reading over the clips, Juanita Broderick. One reason she talked to you and Lisa Myers and not some others is she wanted to tell her story to a woman, not a man. Yes, that's absolutely true..

"And MLS consumeraccess dot org. Number thirty thirty. We stand behind judge cavenaugh one hundred percent. That's the message tonight from White House, deputy chief of staff or communications, Phil shine and President Trump though refusing to say if he supports a delay for Monday's hearing this after Christine Blasi Ford's attorney said that she is willing to testify, they say about her sexual assault allegations against Cavanaugh, but not on Monday, Jeff Zeleny is out front live at the White House for us. So Jeff President Trump has said that Blasi Ford deserves to tell her story. Why not be open to something if it is a brief delay, what are you hearing? That's a good question. We tried to ask the president exactly that when he was leaving the White House just a couple of hours ago flying to Las Vegas to campaign rally evening. He didn't answer the question. He has been open to delay this week throughout a day by day. He said he does want you to hear her story in the next breath. He always says, you know, but he certainly believes judge cavenaugh and this whole system is treating in very unfairly. So he's made no. Mistake what side he's on here. But the question is, how long will Republicans and the White House and Senate Republicans be willing to put this on hold politics is a play here. They're trying to get this right for the midterm elections. They don't want to be accused of trying to push him through. But the reality here is time is of the essence. But one thing has been very interesting as we've watched this a day by day here, the president has been more disciplined more measured than we have seen him, and it is even coming to the surprise of some of his aides and advisers here. They're pleasantly surprised. He's not gone after the accuser. He's not, you know, sort of a weighed in as we've seen him in so many other cases of sexual misconduct. We'll see if that changes tonight at that campaign rally in Las Vegas because all of this is coming to a boil here, but we do know that judge cavenaugh again at the White House for the fourth straight day preparing for that hearing. And he sent the letter to the chairman of the judiciary committee saying, I'll be there on Monday. The question is if he'll be alone or if he'll have a company as well. L. Kate and it's a very big question. Maybe the only question at this point. Thanks, really appreciate it. I'll probably we now former staff member the George W Bush White House. Also the host of firing line Margaret Hoover and former DNC communications director, Maria Cardona. It's great to see you guys, Maria. Let me ask you this. I, the White House, at least right now is how we see it again minute by being at this changes. But right now not budging on his position Republicans on the committee. They don't seem to be budging. Either. Cavenaugh says he will be there on Monday to testify Blasi. Ford seems to be showing some openness to testifying if not on Monday another day. Right. Is that where this is all? Is that where this is all headed? It's going to happen. It's just we're not there yet yet. I don't know. Well, I, it seems that way Kate and I'm actually glad that MS Ford is open to testifying even though it is disappointing that the White House and the Republican Senate have been completely closed off to an FBI investigation before she testifies, because really at the end of the day, that is gone. To be the only way that a hearing would have been done with fairness, both four Ford as well as for Cavanaugh. You know, one thing that I think we have been so app to leave out of here, Kate because we're all political animals and Jeff is right this for the for the White House. This is all about the midterms, but let's focus on the humanity of the situation here, not just for Christine Ford, who believes that she went through a traumatic horrible tragic situation more than thirty years ago at the hands of Brett Cavanaugh, but also for Brett, Kevin off, he believes that he is being unfairly accused if that is the case, you would think that both sides including Cavanaugh would want to get at the truth of this would want facts would want everything out in the open so that he can either clear his name or she can go on to prove her case in either in any event, Republicans would be in a much better place if they were a lot more credible in really wanting to get to the truth. Of it because so far you can see that they're trying to push it as quickly as possible and perhaps under the rug Margaret. What about respond, how you will. But what about the arbitrary deadline? The fact that the Republicans are saying, this is this happens Monday. No one's really answered. I would say with credibility like or else you know what happens after that. I mean, they say they're going to move forward. But what? Why set an arbitrary deadline if they just what? If it is just a few more days that she needs? What do you think that remains to be seen? Look, I- shockingly agreed with Maria on this one piece, but I don't. I don't want to overstate how much we agree, but I but I do think this is one of the things we have learned first of all separately. I think it's important to distinguish this for me too. Okay, right. The metoo movement as we all know, has been a movement where men in powerful positions in employment and in the workforce have used their their superior position to intimidate and harass and blocked the career stymie the careers of women through sexual assault and sexual bullying. Okay. This is not that, okay. This is very different that said, truth needs to be discovered. And in all of these cases and independent set of investigators have come in to evaluate the best and closest version of the truth that is. Discernible, and that would be an everybody's best case here. It would be in the best case of Republicans to empower the guy to create or some other education and expedited you because you can expedite this there at the the ball over their country, but create some version of the truth that is not politicized because Maria, you and I are both right every side has dogs in this fight right now and and so and expedite, and they're in the power position power to create an expedited FBI investigation that would help the silicate navigating these waters, frankly, to Republicans benefit and Democrats bread Kavanagh's credibility and for Christina Fords. And frankly, I think going into the midterm elections, if they are so desperately worried about that, they should be worried about what it looks like. If they do try to hurry, rush this, you know, look at the at the accused or at the accuser in the face. Korea for Republicans and speaking of looks or how things look. It seems Republicans get that and on some level because sources are telling CNN tonight that Republicans on the committee are looking to bring in female outside counsel to question for understanding this hearing this hearing happens. So I mean, you know, that's look good to have an all male ran right herb. Does that make this better? I guess. I mean, it does as Terek -ly meaning on the surface. I mean, I'm sure that this woman will be very good. I'm sure she will be a bulldog. I'm sure she will be tough, but she will be a woman. So yes, the look won't be that of a slew of white male Republican senators, questioning the accuser. So on the face of it, yes, but it doesn't get to why the hurry. You know, they, they waited almost a year to, and frankly not even gave merit Carlin a here. During let alone a meeting, and now they're saying, hurry up, hurry up. We need to get this done before the midterms that really lacks credibility and reeks of hypocrisy and American women, not just not just Democrats and not just progressive American women. Anybody who has gone through sexual assault or any kind of sexual misconduct or anybody who knows anybody who has gone through this, they're going to be listening and they're going to be watching to how Republicans handled and how maybe folks are handling. Now, maybe a good question. Speaking of tone and optics, if you will, what am I for the record least favorite words on all of TV and politics is optics. Is all of this is happening Margaret. One Republican congressman today tried to. I mean, it was very clear. He was trying to make a joke about. About this whole thing. I mean, here's Ralph Norman of South Carolina today.
