Pretty much took the stance that he hasn't done anything this year. How can you convince me. He's gonna do anything the rest of the way for some reason throughout the idea that because he was jinxing him saying all this negative stuff the christian yelich was gonna homered twice picked today. I don't know why he picked saturday. He did cristianos homers twice including go ahead grand slam combo meal the whole deal. So do we give him credit. Forgetting to call on saturday right. Do we kill him. For the christian yelich fad. Take because one of the best days of the season is it somewhere in the middle of. What do we do with this information. Somewhere in the middle man died gap. Isn't it no. It is two of his. Three homers since june twenty-seventh right to be able to predict this is the thing like the hits one home run. And you say he's gonna know homer over the weekend that's one thing but to say he's gonna hit two home runs on saturday and then hits two runs on saturday in the course of providing an entirely legitimate takedown of christian yelich. I don't know i. I can't describe what this what this happens. This happens for the same reason that people bring up the homerun derby. Is that when a player stinks. This longer over performs regression to the mean is inevitable. And that's what that was so. I don't think anything's changed..

I just think that it's better for us if we can form a deal with good conscience with with good faith with the owners and it can't we gonna fight if we don't it sold earlier on Golovkin lingo there been sticking points in this proposed CBA most notably the movement to a seventeen game season but there are some who would approve it two guys a PTI what do you think this oldest respects older said that he wants to give voice to the voiceless I think he's speaking for I don't say a silent majority gets tempting to say that though I think he's speaking for people who are not stars who don't make a lot of money who feel they have nothing in common with Aaron Rodgers and which insurance because they don't make that kind of money they know they're not gonna be only for ten years they want to get paid as quickly as they can this is not like the NBA we're guys towards the end of the bench or making a lot of money yeah sixty one percent of the people in the NFL and make a right around a million dollars or less than that so so I understood I'm glad to hear somebody like this was a player rep say it like this so we don't just hear from start you know what my first thought is kicking okay just vote please I'm sorry well we we we don't right now it's super Tuesday vote today let's do it what would you look look the point to be made here is it isn't like baseball or the NBA where four guys make it a mill this fifteen of the guys in the locker room what are you doing Hey what are you doing so this is not that improbable total and even that mill is not guaranteed price not guarantee they can just take it from didn't just cut you and get rid of it so I understand what that soldiers say wait a minute I got these guys with Tony I think there's some guys in their rank and file who also has a seventeen game aren't the promising they're looking out after my health is not doing what they're saying is what's older is saying is there they're going to pay you for seventeen games going to give you more benefits are gonna make sure you arrive soldier made a bunch of money yes he's already made some one million dollars he's won two super bowls he doesn't have to take this position no he could take the start busy like he's lighting up yeah so it's unbelievable I thought you know what I don't know why don't know anymore we don't have exit polling well we do it at every entrance polling yet but I don't know whatever I just read the file my guess is that the rank and file looks at the stars and says this what do I have in common with them I'd like to be them but I'm not them so we'll see working for the union membership for a full vote just needs a simple majority to go into effect for this year the vote to send the proposal to the membership what's close early seventeen fourteen with one abstention but the union membership will vote on a sports center all night ESPN radio there are guys who this spring will be drafted in to the NFL ESPN analyst Todd McShay says Washington should draft to a talk by law but he says they won't earlier on NFL live our job Saturday if he were to be healthy if he is healthy and you had say a ten year run do you take to a to change young Haskins I take it and go chase that quarterback for the next ten years can catch the edge and do what you want to go do you have a quarterback did you have last year you don't know where I don't care what the medical reports say you don't know what to was gonna do how it how healthy is going to be is it for next year you do know go to a strong degree what she showed and you've seen the way the Bosa affected the draft even last year how impactful he was for the forty Niners does get it you don't you get that set just to stay upright Matt that's safe that is an impact player on a football team that can help you for a long way a long time so in my opinion you build with sure thing at chase young I think I should know this view location are you like all in yes yeah you're right and I'm going to that's the reason I got smart to use because hypersensitive keeps on saying you love love love Jordan what you love what yes I I think he's I think he's the best player in this year's draft almost unrelated question I am not asking about White House can say Sean for say what have you seen enough from Dwayne Haskins separate from all of the staff to be confident in his abilities to be the cornerstone of a franchise going for us I think I think to Todd's point he will be a good he will be an efficient quarterback I don't know that he ever is a star quarterback he is good enough to win you football games in the NFL and so if you've already spent what you spent last year to get this guy to go on and move on I mean it could even be going to the to it and less you felt like two is going to come in and he is gonna be that guy and with the with the health and not only from just the hip but for what's happened in his college career how much more of an upgrade is this going to be that's that's that's it that's the toss of eleven franchises you you can't build on the what ifs I mean it's very difficult to do that so if you know what you have in Haskins I know what you can build into it if it doesn't work you can go get a veteran some others are you end up well all our questions ultimately will be answered as we know this spring sports center all night ESPN radio all access spring training continues this week on ESPN it's been good so far we had red Sox Yankees on Tuesday manager Aaron Boone whose will line up is facing some injuries we feel like we have a.

"Hello and welcome to MLB show. My name is Michael Baumann and I'm a staff writer her at the Ringer Let's get things started with Zach Cram and some unhappy topics. Are we start things off with Zach Cram. I realized that like I always end the intro. Throw by saying you're coming on and then start this segment by saying you're coming on so maybe I should just be like surprise. Guests who it is hello I would before we get into the good stuff stuff just like to start by issuing thank you to Hansel robe lists who struck out two batters in a stellar save appearance on Sunday to push me pass producer bobby by a grand total of one strikeout into the ring or fantasy baseball championship bobby already peeved that the mets loss ro bliss on waivers last year just before he got good now has all the more reason to despise us angels closer so I just want to start out by thanking him and you you know just mentioning that as bobby that can later edit these words into really anything he wants. This is I was. GonNa ask. You Care to respond but clearly you do. This is a bridge too far far honestly so when listeners get to this podcast and they here just just Mike talking to no one is silence on the other end. They'll no way I will say. I do also feel a measure of complicity in in this 'cause the first two years. We've had this fantasy baseball league. I've snuck into the playoffs and upset. Zak is the number one seed and my team was dog. UGH Shit this year so I was unable to perform that service for you bobby so I apologize. There's nothing people like more than hearing three dudes talking about their fantasy baseball SPO- leagues. That's not dislike less than sixty seconds okay. Honestly that's also less depressing than the topic. We're about to talk about so well. It's a perfect segue because is I lost due in large part because I lost Christian Yelich Justin Turner and I don't even remember the last person was so that's where we are yeah well. All that is sort of a symptom of we're GONNA talk about season ending injuries and there've been so many they're hard to keep track of so Zach what do you what do you have for us on this topic doc basically the sheer number of impactful season entering season ending injuries. We've seen over the last week this since as we talked last time last Tuesday has been kind of overwhelming as I guess there are a couple different sorts of injuries to think about. There's is the injury to a player we really like watching but which doesn't affect the playoff race like. Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani are both out for the season which basically renders angels Games James unwatchable the rest of the way but angels games weren't really going to be the key drying point over the last couple of weeks of the season anyway but then there's the other kind of injury which directly affects the playoffs. Christian Yelich is out for the season hobby biases out for the season. Anthony Rizzo is an out for the season but he'll be out for at least a week I think the the report was after hurting his ankle over the weekend so really like there aren't that many playoff races to watch right now it's down to the wildcard the NFL central control and the NFL wild card race and we're having injuries directly removing some of the most fun players from the teams and it it kind of sucks as we enter the last stretch run yea. I should say I believe hobby is out for the rest of the regular season but they're not ruling out a return sometime later in October. which you you know this being the cubs that might functionally be the same thing but yeah. I said that didn't happen. that happened before Lascaux. 'cause I talk a little bit with Sahara about it last week but yeah the Rizzo thing happened. over the weekend ends like every time. I've this this thing with ankle injuries where every time I see video of it. It looks like my first reaction is Oh my God. They're going to need to amputate the foot and it always turns out to be Oh now. It's a it's a sprained Ed. He'll back in two weeks I. It's like just this way with an ankle. Injuries were just always looked so much worse than They actually ends up being yeah. It was pretty bad so I was kind of surprised that the diagnosis was relatively mild eld as it ended up being the issue is just not that much time in the season left so even though they don't have to like cut the leg off the fact that Rizzo resolve even missing a week or two at this point functionally means the cubs needed to completely adjust their lineup as they're fighting for a playoff spot and I think this is where we get into like you know. There's that saying that in March madness the basketball tournament people like watching upsets for the first couple of rounds but then they really want to watch the favorites battle in the final four and I don't know it's really pithy sayings yeah. I don't know how I really fully subscribe to that belief but it is kind of cool to see players like Niko Horner who you talk about last week step up and make an impression in his first major league appearance. He's hitting three sixty four as we talk on Tuesday morning and helping helping the cubs win some games by there is I think a functional difference between watching Nego Horner and Ian HAP- try to fill in for the star players and just watching buyers and Yelich battle for a playoff spot that actually steers into the one like semi troll elite take the like. I'm not sure how much I believe this but I'm going to say it anyway if this is actually not the worst time to lose your star player because the difference between Hobby Debiasi Nico Horner like on Bat to bat basis is almost imperceptible then the difference between the two of them is going to be played out over the course of one hundred sixty see two games in which case it is vast you know even as as you know intended no disrespect to Nico Horner who seems like a perfectly fine major shortstop but you're you're going to notice that over six months by even in this like on one little like obviously you want to go to war with your best a slide up when the Games matter most and certainly if horner comes up in a situation in the wildcard game for instance the cubs will probably I wish they had hobby Baya's but he's not substantially less likely to get a hidden at situation. If you just take that one at bat like maybe it's a difference of of like five percent to like. It's almost a a matter of I think we know better than to say the playoffs or a crap shoot oh as glibly as we did a couple years ago but I think there's still so much randomness that if particularly if you're a team like the cubs it has quality players to either inserted into the lineup or move around and this is different for say Christian Yelich in the brewers 'cause he is so much of that offense like I I say that I and of course they're gonNA come back and make the ploughs now just because of that but like I almost feel like you can deal without your star player. Flyer for for even a couple of weeks and not miss that much particularly if it's a position player yeah I think I when I was saying that I was conceiving of it. More as an entertainment proposition as opposed to now baseball is not an entertainment proposition. It's an opportunity for arbitrage by it. You're right like even going by a framework like war like if a superstar player is worth six wins over a season over the course of two weeks that's half a win and over replacement player and maybe they could slump. There's certainly no saying that buyers would perform better than horner over such a short span but I think there is an entertainment perspective here that's worth considering because these games are just under spotlight more like over the course of the summer months and when I'm watching any given couple of baseball games every night. I'm just flipping back and forth. I have like the game changer tool which allows me to pick players. I just WANNA see their bats from and now you combine those players and put them in a race where I'll be watching those games anyway because they just matter more for the rest of the season and the standings that like I was really excited to watch the elhage try and do what he did last season in in last September as the brewers push to win the division. He hit three seventy five zero eight eight zero four and looking at those numbers. I am honestly shocked that his on base percentage was only five hundred because it felt like he was reaching base four times a game. I'm surprised that number isn't like eight hundred looking at it now and Yell Itch was starting off the September hot as well and that matters to the team but that also matters from the perspective of people watching brewers games even if they're not brewers fans. It's just fun to watch a sport where baseball players cannot typically single handedly do anything for their team like Lebron. James can in basketball but trying eyeing but seen players come the closest that can and try to do that is part of the fun of September. I think yeah well I would say. There's a counterpoint to that and I certainly I don't think you're wrong but I I also wonder if absent something like the great individual performance like Yelich down the stretch last ear or a Madison Bumgarner twenty fourteen or Corey Kluber unanswered Miller in two thousand sixteen like absent a truly transcendent individual performance formats. I wonder if there's sort of like it's sort of like a Friday news. Dump idea that there's a fixed amount of column inches that a newspaper can print in a day and like there's a fixed amount of excitement that a neutral fan can have over over a postseason and insofar as that changes it changes so much much more on team outcomes than than individual outcomes like it doesn't it. I think it matters less whether we have a hobby. Baya's were were Nico Horner in the lineup then whether the cubs you know force a five game division series or a seven-game Elsie ass or something like that and the as as far as the individual games as long as the Individual Games had series of dramatic heroes will reveal themselves somehow and so as much as we like the established star are coming out and pulling assessment. It's down the stretch in two thousand fifteen or Manny Ramirez in two thousand eight we also like to see the UNSUNG hero zero pop up here. The David exe died so you know not to invoke the ultimate cliche but yeah that's exciting in its own way as well particularly if it's young player fire he's just getting his first taste of major league action so I you know I think and you know just look back to that incredibly fun brewers last year once she got into the postseason as in yellow is not the is not the player. I really remember like you remember Brandon Woodruff. You remember gyulay's chassis like he's yelling is not the the guy I remember really defining that postseason run for the burs once they got into the playoffs so if you're looking at it from that perspective I think you know we will. We will find heroes in narratives. There's certainly some air to that like even as we end the two thousand ten decade the biggest postseason heroes of the decade are probably Madison Bumgarner who we might have expected as an ace pitcher and then like David freeze. Nobody probably expected to become one of the most valuable world series contributors of all time the I think the distinction there is between what you're saying is like heroes will emerge but that's not necessarily you don't go into a postseason series necessarily necessarily expecting any of those things to happen so I think that's the difference between anticipation and then reaction. If that makes sense like we are going to here's anyway away but we can't necessarily anticipate that excitement like we can when yell at shes involved there even like a lower tier player like Byron Buxton who the twins are going to make the.

"Right around the same time the Ballenger was cracking champagne and the Dodgers were celebrating their seventh straight and a western title. yeah which was on the road in Miami. racking his kneecap. an agonizing in the most flew key. ill timed manner possible. good for the brewers hitters not great for Jay Sanders the LX crumbles to the ground after phallic one office bush gonna need a better. right off the top of the knees the lecture in a rough feel free this is out having a chat here with. yell itch just as he knows where the injury is ailing yell it's is trying to shake it off as best you can we're starting to get into the territory where he may not be able to stay in this game trying hard to fight it off but the pain is not subsiding for him right now. yeah the trailer can't really roll out there and come with that. that's sports ray for a fractured shattered knee. you mean that frozen aerosol won't work on a fractured shattered knee. that is the absolute worst eighteen games left. in MVP caliber campaign and a super flu key foul ball shatters all of the knee in an instant okay understand injuries are part of the game they happen. it's just not part of this game but every game losing more the face the Major League Baseball during a playoff push with less than three weeks left in the year man that is brutal that's beyond brutal session fury aiding this something that flew key could happen and that guy in that moment. I mean that's when those things were that doesn't just sock for the brewers that sucks for everybody who enjoys watching one of the game's best players do his thing and do it really well it goes without saying you cannot replace Christian Yelich you could not have picked a worse time have a fluke here thing happen especially while running down the cubs won game back eighteen to play. and don't think that broke through don't know exactly where they're at what's at stake. the Milwaukee journal reported their players were watching TV in the clubhouse insuring a throwing error by the cubs that allowed the Padres take four to lead in a game against San Diego Padres eventually went on to win. so it is that time of year officially scoreboard watching cheering when the other guy throws one in the dumper. and the boys have to do this now without their best player for the rest of the year I'm not saying they're dead I'm saying it's got that much more difficult forty four dongs one hundred six ribs thirty bags ridiculous numbers now they're all on ice at the worst possible

"I picked Christian Yelich I guess and it has nothing to do with the first half of this season and has almost everything to do with the fact that he just hasn't stopped since last since April of last year fan graphs war rating has yelling at twelve point four the next best would be Christian Yelich at twelve point four in the next best would be bellinger at nine point five. I I loved all those stats. I mean it's good to see you guys came back from your trip to Cleveland like ready to cook. ooh I agree I mean I think it's bellinger but I think we're I just WANNA ask. I think we're on the same page that this is basically a question of team success though right like that's the tiebreaker were you at this point. Essentially once you go down and all the MAZARS stats and it's like well. There's no there's no running away with it. Then you kinda go to. I think Dallas laid out in what jared suggested that Yelich is basically having as good of a statistical season is true by by the way since I don't really disagree with anything you guys said all time first-half opie s in the N._F._l.. So going back to nineteen thirty three the first year of the All Star Game Yelich first-half opiates ranks twenty first all time and the best since Actually Bryce Harper's twenty fifteen so not that long ago and bellinger first-half opie s ranks tied for twenty sixth all-time in the pretty pretty elite company yeah. I'd say so the A._l.. M._V._p.. Gentlemen I feel like we're getting to a point where when we start having this conversation and Major League baseball does this throughout clubhouses houses and we used to do this when tiger was tighter every tournament that we that we get together on that we bet on that we have a pool on like the masters tournament the Open Shit like that. These are tireless pools meaning inning. You don't get to pick so he. He's not an option. It's the field that you're selecting from tiger is not an option so I almost feel like Mike Trout is kind of becoming that guy when we start to have these conversations because coming I mean when I say becoming because like we're just completely eliminating any possibility that any player would ever even come close to Mike Trout and we know what happens when you fly close to the sun you get it fucking torch Jerry look at your face. There's a reason why might trout is who he is because he seemingly never gives other folks like again. I always go back to Miguel Cabrera having to win the triple fucking crown to prevent might trout from winning the M._v._p.. And didn't have a better season and so it's might trout but for I think for our conversation sake aside from trout is where the conversation gets interesting in the A._l.. That's where where else will appear on the ballot exactly that's and I and I think that's I don't know if it's necessarily fun to do it that way but for me anybody not named might trout. I think the M._v._p.. At this point in time is Alex Bregman interesting. I mean I think I think your point about who is second. After trout or third.

You have to balance those things, and you learn overtime where that line is returned through the hash Browns, like we've got a flight to London. Catch. How about that? Well, we got one last one here drew wants to wants you to update your sei-yung MVP and World Series winners based on what we've seen in the first half of the season. Oh, goodness. I saw this. I saw that, that this has been asked. I think late last night and, you know, I realized I should have looked at just really hoping I wouldn't pick it. No, I that's one of those ones where I see it. And I think, oh, I got a look that up and then the morning comes and something else comes up, and I don't think about it, Cody Bellinger. I mean it's Cody Bellinger, Christian yelich. What else can I say? Well, you know, I'll, I'll bet you trust in the answers here. If you wanna, you know, go for think about it a little more, but I would definitely I would go yelich right now. I would go with Ryu as my young winner in the NFL it now for AL I think, just based on the buzz and and, you know, we've been talking about so much. I think you gotta get Lucas Julieta the not here. And for Allen, VP, ah mister, DJ make you. I mean he's the here. Oh, you're not on the LeMay huband wagon r you. It's not necessarily best player. It's who why are they in first place right now? "And that's kind of just how it all started how it start rolling. Christian yelich defending National League most valuable player from the Milwaukee Brewers here on the rich Eisen show and obviously everything's working out for you in Milwaukee. You enjoy the the scene there. And people are enjoying you. And obviously we're enjoying a beer at a bucks game. And it cetera. Do you ever think about what might have been in Miami had the team not been broken up, including your being traded away Christian? Every now and then I still talk to some of the guys about it. And it's something that we don't really want to just keep like looking back in time, live like just going back in the yearbook, but there's definitely a lot of talent that went through there sprinkled throughout the league definitely see it some of the best players in baseball right now were on that team or an organization before they were traded off and went their separate ways. But it's just how it works. I mean, I think we definitely had the pieces. They're just didn't really all come together for us for whatever reason, and when that happens in sports teams tend to move on and the new ownership regime came in and you know, thought that was best. But my views everything happens for a reason they worked out, great for myself. It put me in an unbelievable situation. Milwaukee, I really enjoyed that. You never guaranteed to go to a great spot when he traded. You don't know how it's gonna work out. You don't know what the, the city is going to be like the teams. The guys on the team. And I got I really fortunate that it worked better. So do you so much made Christian about the popularity of the sport nationally, these days and keeping it top of mind throughout the year, national pastime, etc? So on and so forth and look at young stars like yourself, do you have a philosophy on making baseball fun or or getting out there? Appreciate a phone call to a show like this for sure obviously being the one that I'm on. Do you have a philosophy or a certain sense of responsibility in that regard? Do you think Christian? To make it fun or just like get out there to get out there and, and, and make it fun at the same time. Yes. Yeah. I mean I think you always want to give back to the game. They gave us you so much. And you, you never understand you don't realize you're impacting or what impact, you can have on somebody's life. I mean you don't know I think it comes with responsibility in the position that you're into to better the game and leave it in a better place than what you founded in, and it's starting to change as far as just guys having more fun or being more expressive or being more relatable. It's a gradual change. All it's not something that's all going to happen at one time. Or everyone is just gonna flip a switch in the game's going to be different than it's been for a long time. But I think you can gradually see I think the players want it major league baseball wanted, and it's headed in a direction. Well, I guess the asking the major league leader in home runs right now would be. Perfect person asked what what's your philosophy on backflips like it, don't like it shouldn't happen? Not a big deal. What your thoughts? I think there's a I think there's a fine line. It's like situational awareness. I don't really have a problem with it, most of them, but, you know, it's, it's hard to explain. I mean, I'm all for the having fun, but bad, I don't care most of the time. But there's obviously those outliers times were definitely, you know, steps across the line. I think you could say sometimes but, you know my, my philosophy is always just been win the game. And if you do something that helps your team win the game or it's an exciting moment, or the why not have fun, not social emotion. You know, the guys aren't all robots out there. They're not just, you know, living the straight and narrow with no emotion on their face..

And Lewis Brinson has been moved to right field in the minors sort of addressing which you've always said, which is just a terrible because they got rid of every good outfielder. So they now need outfielder you shocked at how much I know about the Marlins minor league system has I'm surprising myself. I'm remembering this correctly, and I could be wrong. I remember on opening day. They had people's nicknames next to them. So you get to know the player whatever and I think JT riddles nickname was t- because I guess, JT was too long. I could be wrong but I know there was someone that had just simply one letter. As their nickname. And it was like a very simple name that didn't need to be short. I liked how JT riddle and then we had JT real Mito, and they both one of them puts the dot in between Jay and the team. And one of them does. I don't remember which one which but they like we're both like no. You put the dots and the other one was like, no never dot so someone should have been named Jay, Don or something like, right? We welcome in Dan Le Batard are resonant Derek Dietrich expert who yesterday for some reason, said that separated himself from his comment Dietrich was a minor league hitter. Yeah. You put several years there that weren't there that you said this last season that they're Dietrich was a minor league ball black. He's berry bonds. It was it was two years ago Barry Bonds, and he hit three home runs yesterday. How many heads does he have this, easiest thirty hits seventeen of which are home runs? Imported update JT real mutual dots. Thank you very much, Derek Dietrich is now third tied for third. In the National League with home runs. It means two of the top three homerun hitters in the National League or Christian yelich Derek Dietrich. I don't think it's fair to hold Dietrich against the Marlins. I don't and not just because I was wrong about him like they waived him. They simply wave claimed him. They weren't trying. Everyone was wrong Marlins were just one of all the other type I feel like the rest of baseball agreed with me when he was waived and all of them said, you know what he's not a major leaguer, did they not agree with at least upset with it. But it was mainly because I just liked Eric Dietrich, and I thought like you know what I mean this team is going to be bad. What does it kill you to have their on your team? But I did not expect us. I don't think anyone did. It'd be great if this year in the homerun derby. It was American League versus former Marlins, and it was just like. Derek Dietrich Christian yelich owes Oona. We could find someone else saying that what a bus of a trade that's been putting he's been injured older problem Marlins killing that trade stand barely plan at all. So he doesn't even make the former Marlins Rosser. You can maybe try to crack the American League man. This is funny. What's happening with their D Derek DJ three homers in a game? And now Furthermore, I'm about this. When he's having that bloop wasn't blue, but it was a double where he was shirtless. A game winning double, and he took off his shirt. It's no lie. It's the background on my computer. Like I'll show you right now. Background. I'm like that. This is the background like you can see it. Yeah. I wanted to put this on a t shirt, but I figured I might run into some sort of legal issues with, like the photographer. He's so hand, he's so hand forced yelich is in that photo. Happy. So happy. Look, how many people are at that, gene. Man more ads than people more more alcohol. This is a big crowd..

"You're wondering most home runs through Memorial Day all time. Barry Bonds Mark Maguire Peru holes Griffey junior Griffey junior again, and Christian yelich with twenty one didn't Memorial Day used to be at the end of may. So is this yelich should get another week? I thought Memorial Day was using at the end of may may thirtieth the might just making that up. No. I think he's just fell this way. Did next weekend? We'll be into June. Okay. They can't do it that. Yeah. I'm curious these years if they got an extra week there over Christian yelich, but he's got twenty one home runs so far. All right. Anything else needs to be mentioned here, moral day. You guys doing anything. Good anything fun. And then unique. Well, I'm on this real restrictive diet, and I can have steam vegetables and purified water. How's that work out of cookout? It's great. I was invited to to cookouts and my wife went instead I, I sent some beer, instead and I just said, thank you. But I'm going to sit at home, and your, your bag of air and feel sorry for myself. Yeah. I have purified water and steamed vegetables for the next sixty days. So it's kinda hard to, you know, socialize my life goes. You know, we have an ad beer and wings in a while. And I went religion she goes, oh my that too. Yeah, yeah, you're right, hunting, we haven't and we won't for a while. Did you guys do anything interesting? I was at this marina area and I had an idea because I would love to have a boat but I want to own a boat. I don't necessarily want to take it out because I don't know what I'm doing. And I think I would screw it up, but I saw a bunch of guys there with coolers, and sitting on their boats just hanging out at their boat, slip, and they've really nice boats, and some of smaller somewhere bigger butts, but it looks like I'm in a great time I would just like to hang out on someone's just docket yet. Just docket and hang out, or maybe like a boat rent, like an a boat BNB where I could go to someone's boat and have a little shindig, and I don't tell people to my boat, but it's just hang out there because I don't want to sail it or. Drive it. I have no interest in having a boat. I've interested in hanging out on boats. I I've an interest in a yacht. Yeah. But not a boat. Why don't you get a boat? What am I going to do with a boat? You live by the water. I don't I don't have any time to glad on the boat. Plus, you know, you it takes forever to get out, and then you get out. And then you're thinking then whether comes in, and you did I lose somebody overboard. So you're with me you like the idea of just docking it and having a cooler and oh, yeah. I would do that. All right. I could live in a house boat. I could do that. Yeah. I think it's beautiful. I have a friend who's got a a boat. Nice big boat, and I love hanging out on it. But again I'm with polling. I have no idea what he's doing. And he's tying things to stuff. And he's got all this digital equipment in every eight knots latitude longitude, and he knows everything about boats, but just sit on it and have some eat, and drink, and just relax. But if you could park itself, then I would be like that, that would bother me if I had a boat, real nice boat, and you're trying to fit it in and then all of a sudden, you're excuse me. Pardon me. You know, banging up against it. Yes, he parking a boat. Seems to be that gives me some concern. Yeah, yeah. I'd have a problem with that. Yep. Both guys are worse than soccer guys with jargon, though. Because like, hey, I'll be over at the stern. It's that's not the stern. You know, they they are very picky about their, their phrases. Very well. If you have a sailboat to sounds like that, it would be even worse, if you say, well, let's go drive, your you don't drive you sail it. They give you that they don't put up with their lack of jargon awareness. I just push them overboard. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I mean that's what I would do. What happened to Tom? Did I push you overboard on the starboard side, Jimmy, I don't know. I'm sorry..

"Christian yelich, Ryan Braun, Mike, NewsTalk seven players, and I'm sorry. Six players. I could count if you had to guess how many put on the free T shirt, given by the Milwaukee Bucks. There was a green fear the near shirt, they do a t shirt before every game. Hominy? Do you think put on the shirt? And who do you think put on the shirt, I'm gonna guess too? I know air fame said because he seems like a t-shirt guy seems like the personality Peralta the t shirt on. He did. I think those are my only two that. I would say, okay, there's one more three put on the free T shirt, given by the Milwaukee Bucks. Stockists? No talk is at a hoodie on it looks like he had. I can't tell you the bucks head honor those brewers head. I think it's a buck now two bucks hat. It's like a black hat with a black outline of the state of Wisconsin. And I think bucks in it. But it's all black. So it's kind of hard to see in the picture. Ryan Braun ahead on a black bucks. Hoodie and yellow Ted on. Ministers kotex, which makes sense. Peralta Woodruff in themes, head on the free shirt provided by the Milwaukee Bucks. Now were the sleeves still on air fame. Yes, they are stretched out under his bicep. But yes, they are on can't tell what kind of hat. He's got on. I just thought of this. How how did he and maybe it's because it's in season. How did he David backyard? Not hang out at the game. How did that not happen? I don't know. So they were in a suite. The brewers were seemed like the typically are a bacteria Rogers. They seem to be in Jefferson. I think we had his own seed council seat somewhere in the stands. I'm going to hang out with you clowns down here my own area fee. Enough of you, boys. Get into the brewers the discussion coming up a little bit raptors and seventy Sixers just about to get going tonight from Philly. It's a game that could decide who the bucks will face next in the playoffs. If Toronto wins, they will advance and Philadelphia wins. They force a game seven which will be played in Toronto. Mike from Waukesha on the text line, saying raptors verse bucks. Seventy Sixers had the bucks number throughout the season. The bucks were thorn in the rappers talent all season. Well done on the use of talent. It was pretty even is pretty even the bucks had a blowout. Win over both teams. Relatively close lost the both teams three and one against Toronto two and one against philli. I don't know. How you decide? I mean, they beat Toronto one. Oh, five ninety two one twenty four one. Oh, nine and one four ninety nine. They lost one twenty three one sixteen. All these games were pretty full strength. If I remember, right. Was there a game against Toronto that didn't have Jaanus? Orca. Why I believe that was the first meeting in the season. We're sick both six. Okay. I think you're right against Philadelphia. The bucks won one twenty three one await they lost one thirty one twenty five and they won one twenty eight one twenty two. Sign me up for the raptors. I there's not much separation. I don't believe and I need the theories is sort of playing out that way. I think that I think the seventy Sixers for is dysfunctional as they've been they are loaded with firepower and length disruptive length the raptors don't have as well. They've got some length. They've got some experience and maybe the best player out of the two teams. I don't see much depth there. I am not as free. I'm not as afraid of as many not as many guys can offer thirty on the raptors as Kansas seventy Sixers and see that. I think that's where I disagree now not part of the thirty. But the part of guys who can just go off in general. I'd rather risk. Ben Simmons not being able to shoot a jumps out, which is a huge deal. And Joel Embiid if he gets injured in any way, he's ineffective, and then it's down to what Jay and I'm naming names here. But then you have to lean on jayjay Radic Wilson Chandler. Who's their bagman? Greg Monroe is is one of their main big guys like, I just the depth. They have a little bit of death. But it's certainly can't match the box. And they also they don't have Kawhi Leonard, which I do not want to see seven games of quite Leonard is pretty good. There's no question. I'm not as afraid of Kyle Lowry as it was a couple years ago. Something has just happened here. I don't know what it is Siachen is good player. Who you look at what Danny green is. There shooter does even play much anymore. He does he's an important piece. So he's kind of the rhetoric of the raptors maybe X-factor knowing I that's that's fair. I think that's actually a nice way to put it OG Anna Nobi we haven't heard much about back from injury. If he comes back that could be a Malcolm Brogdon thing. Like, okay, they could use him. That'd be that's kind of what I would be looking for Steve aspirin or of NBA dot com has been following the bucks here for a couple of months. I've seen him more recently that I have my family. We'll get his thoughts on the series. That was in what lies ahead here for the bucks. Coming up next sports central on WTMJ.

"So it's a challenging decision. There's no there's no question about it. In terms of giving yourself the best percentage chance to stop them from scoring. Christian yelich is probably among the most people that I met in baseball. And I related a conversation yesterday in the podcast that I had with him a few years ago. And I do think that he probably has changed his own perception of self dramatically because I remember standing at spring training with in Colorado, and we're talking about his power, and this is a time where he had double digit homers that was a lot and I just mentioned to him. Boy, if you ever got out of Miami, you might be able to hit twenty someplace and when I mentioned that number. He looked to be like I said that he was going to climb mount ever spoke like like twenty. Wow. And it feels like that he's learned a lot about himself over the last year. I mean, you know, do you think that when he was back with the Marlins he thought himself as maybe being a guy was gonna hit forty or fifty and a season. I'm not sure I, you know, the one thing that that's so interesting is I remember that you know, the team that won that one the the WB see what was it was a two thousand and seven bright seventeen when they won. And I can remember talking to him after the fact and couple of things that stood out one that I thought was really funny was that I believe he told me that he was cut from every team USA team that he ever tried out for and then he hits heard which is funny. Team USA team. And then there's the major leaguer shore team USA it hits heard. And then the other part of it was I do remember specifically having a conversation with him. And he wouldn't give me the names. Although you had a decent idea who they were how he would go out to dinner with guys and listen to them, and they were talking about launch angle stuff. They were talking about the need to get the ball in the air and having the conversation with him about that. That's not really what he does. What how he clearly absorbed? What they were saying. So he's a smart smart dude as well guy. I yeah. And so I think there's another thing, you know, he he's one of those guys. It's reminds vow to that, you know, when he hits the three home. Runs. He did his flips on the field the other day. I don't know whether you saw that. But they made a big deal about it. Because he goes this flip drill underneath. And he does it every day. But he decided to do it on the field to see where seaworthy ball would go and everybody with the brewers was like freaking out about it. Because they don't get to see it normally. And then he he did it on the field. But I mean, you know, he was in a stretch was like old for nine and feels like, you know, the sky is falling. It's like out to you know, we go to Houston. Sometimes you'll see wholesale to aid. You'd be like, hey, man, how you doing? And he'll be like. Yeah. Man. I'm just I'm grinding. And like everybody else around him is looking at him like, really? Three twenty five average your sleep. So, but these guys have been places that ninety nine percent of the other players haven't been you know, what I mean? That's what. And they're fueled in a way, that's different. So it's just. It's what makes them special. They're just different last one on yelich. I'm gonna ask you the same thing. I asked him at the beginning of this season about the Christian yelich trade with the Marlins if you look at what is doing and he's twenty seven years old. He's already won MVP award. The key piece in that deal is, you know, for the Marlins Lewis Brinson hitting two seven to fifty eight on base percentage. He's twenty four years old yelich now has more extra base hits than Brinson has hits this season. At the time. This deal went down. I remember getting texts from people with other team saying, oh my God. This is a one sided trade. So I suggested the Tim the beginning of the season. When y'all got off to a great start..

"So that shows up get started at. Football dot com. That's flip board dot com. So when I saw that trade the first thing that I thought of was they basically took Lewis Brinson in what they wanted him to be took Brinson and D as in a couple in a pitcher and made got Christian yelich for a lot of years, by the way. It's it's a long con-. He's still under contract for a while. But you took what you wanted Brinson to be in win got it. You got Christian yelich back who basically is top. He was MVP. Like, let's put it that way. I don't even have to say top anything. He was the National League MVP. He can put the ball where everyone's just like you said, the each row comparison is awesome, in my opinion. And he like you said franchise changer. He adds an element to that to this lineup that they didn't have four. There was never a guy on this roster in my opinion that could literally just basically pick a field and put it there, and he adds everything to this team. And I think that was a big boost it was and I can tell you. There is no way the. Brewers would get where they were without Christian yelich. And when they had to pull off that move, David Stearns general manager ended up going to the ownership and said, this is what we wanna do. And we're not gonna only just get this guy. But we're going to get Lorenzo Cain. And when when you make that kind of move for gala Christian yelich, you have to weigh the factor of him having proven big league success versus prospects. No Brinson, Ed some major league experience, but really not too much in prospects for the most part are unknown. While yelich is a guy that's proven that he can be effective at the big league level. And I think that was a move that when they considered all factors was one that they needed to make and for one year, and I think for a lot longer David Stearns is going to be called the general manager that really changed baseball in Milwaukee for a long long time. So we're gonna talk about Lorenzo Cain here in a second. But we're going to kind of deep dive into prospects. If you had to if you had to pick your favorite three outfield prospects in the system, the number one guy that I'm really high on for the brewers would be Corey Ray. He's a guy that as speed in the field. He doesn't exactly have the strongest arm, but he's got upset with his bat. And he's a guy that debris who's in some parts are really high on. And I know that they've had guys or they've had other teams call about him, and he's been rumored in a possible package for Allie, Madison Bumgarner, and from all the things I can gather Bumgarner is not going to end up in Milwaukee..

At this weird dream yesterday. It seems like I'm leading this today. I had this weird dream yesterday. All leading us where Tobin was Brennan Tobin of the morning show. He was just on the air was kind of like he joined us for the local hour, and he made very clear before we started. He was not here for the nonsense and the dream. And he was like I am not here for the nonsense guys to willy nilly with the stuff that you do. And he said something like that. I don't think he said Tom foolery, but he was not about us messing around. So he is about that fun life in general. I'd say of all the hosts down here like he seems to have fun with stuff, which is why it was weird. But he made sure to let me know. No, no tomfoolery today. Did he actually eat crow to that happen? I mean, probably chewy I feel like all things if you cook them, right taste like chicken. Right. Like if you cook like steak ever, really tastes like chicken. And then he was the VP of the league. But he he's said that he wouldn't hit twenty home runs which wasn't like a crazy thing to say the time because he was still like skinny wasn't exactly a power hitter. And then Christian yelich showed up the crow with him. You know, I saw someone like make on Instagram like, squirrel. I didn't think you could eat, squirrel. That's gross. Like, I don't know. No, it was in real life someone so someone started on Instagram. So that they went up to Johnston. They got it from Pinterest. And alligators squirrel, I had ostrich jerky.
