"Christmas and now it's like two months removed and we're heading towards Saint Patrick's day and Easter is looming as they say time stands still for no one right right in time does fly when you're having fun and you are you know preoccupied with the coronavirus news my yeah I know I know next is next weekend is already the parade right yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah you know for years it's the second largest St Patrick's day next to New York City all I know there's a lot of amazing Irish and Irish want to be and we're all Irish that day it's an incredible parade it really is Pittsburgh really does Saint paddy's day right so let me ask you before you go back to work in the KDKA radio newsroom so being that you just do this on the weekends I mean you got a real job during the week and then another another amazing job raising your daughter which is just as difficult if not harder my question to you is what's your sleep pattern like Friday going into Saturday Sunday here's this is the thing now for years when I was doing sports in the morning and doing different shifts and had to get up before the crack of dawn you know your body never really get used to it but you get used to it enough to understand it but now I have a few days during the week so I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn which thank you so much how grateful I can begin to express that I am that I have that opportunity now that I never had for years but it's hard to just even though I work late last night here on the numbers down to come to market I got home it's hard to just like say okay let's go to sleep yeah it is it's tough you know just especially Friday and Saturday evenings because I'm in so early here I'll try to do bath time and bedtime with my daughter really early my husband and ends up putting her to bed after I give her a bath but I will you know try to go to sleep like around nine o'clock but you know what that's not easy to do so you do try to go to bed at night and then you toss and turn for a little while and eventually fall asleep and then that alarm goes off at three thirty so when we spring up ahead which well yeah that's coming up rats see yeah let's tonight yeah I know she will actually be three right yeah I'm gonna be exhausted so just a warning to our listeners for tomorrow you know I may or may not be coherent when I give the news report well you know it but this is one of the things that I have done forever and I will do it when I get home today and maybe something for people in the audience to do the same thing I actually in fact as of late I usually date do it like Friday night when I'm going to bed Saturday morning I turn all the clocks ahead an hour by the time I get home so when I get home at three I'll turn the clocks ahead to four that's probably why he kind of trick your brain yeah and if that works I'll try that yeah sure I mean every clock in the house you name it even though that very popular stove clocked everyone's has is illuminated kitchen at night I do it so my thought process is it's four o'clock but it's better when it's three and then for now in the afternoon as opposed to two in the morning and it's now three so I just I don't know it's it's some psychology there seem to work for me today I'm probably gonna try to take a nap because I am going to high school musicals tonight what do you see that one of my former students down at Jefferson Morgan high school down in Greene County and yeah one of my former students is actually the director of the show so Christian Wilson doing a great job down there and I want to go to support him and the performing grease which you know he doesn't love grease threats to the community listen I was never in any kind of playing thank goodness for that but can you imagine what talent at any level see I'm a big fan of high school plays and musicals and you know the Lincoln Park charter school I mean I love these kids that are out there and my daughter took dance when she was younger it's all incredible to me but can you imagine how difficult I'm in Greece having trouble living Newton John Allen Carr seventy eight I remember watching it but you're gonna have some skill set to do that yeah I mean that's not easy and then directed all night all happen away now but he's he's so talented and I'm sure it's a great show so looking forward to seeing that you know what can we talk about this coronavirus for just a sec here yes we know the Pennsylvania now has a couple confirmed cases right on the eastern part of the state right and it's only a matter of time we anticipate before it comes here to Pittsburgh and I'm already thinking about that scene Patrick's day parade yes Saturday right right because all of these you know major sporting events with the south by southwest concert yeah that was a Boston yeah that's cancer and and Austin rather yeah that's been canceled and you know the NBA has already put out a message to team owners to start prepping for the possibility of having games without fans there in in the stadiums where they play right in this auditorium yeah and so and so now I'm starting to think more and more about in this game starting on opening day manual opening day that's right in the parade and well here's listen this is what I heard on and a syndicated national show well it was CNN headlines as well where I heard it and they they were talking about what about closing schools down eventually how it could happen one night at eleven o'clock somebody says that should shut him down and they were talking about New York City and how there are over a million students in classes in New York City alone but here's the other side of that not only are you dealing with kids not going to school but where their parents take those kids because many of these parents have to go out and really work for a living yeah this is going to be very disruptive I fear for you know for lots of families for companies for organizations for schools you know even if it even if you try to teach courses online write it and send out messages to have the students keep up with their assignments when I think about this at the college level you know we're it's it's very difficult to transition and in class of course and then hurry up and put it online right that's very cold very been transition and I assume you know K. through twelve educators as well as for college we've got to be thinking about these contingency plans but that is not easy to do and not every student has access to a you know a wifi has access to a computer at home where they can yeah keep up with those assignments so that would be very challenging you know and we worry then about students being left alone you know at a college I'm worrying about my students because you know in a dorm you basically live on top of each other and you know close proximity everything goes around I mean you know what art where I teach somebody gets the cold within a week we all have it everybody's got the Sniffles no matter how frequently you wash your hands when you can only do that so much and and the old guidance of not touching your face I know I know how can we possibly I know as as you said that I'm like leaning on my yes I know do that we don't even think about you know what I'm washing my hands to where it's like I mean I went back just to get a Cup of coffee yeah my hand through I mean it's you just don't eat your thought process you change that and I'm gonna talk about a couple of different angles and I know a lot of people are thinking it's this or it's that but how can you not talk about it I mean when you wake up in the morning and you go to bed at night and it's the lead story every paper you pick up every online service you turn the radio on I mean there it is how can you not talk about this story yeah it's really tough it's everywhere and you know and I know that the flu to put this in perspective right now the flu is still a much bigger problem for us locally I think we've had what twelve deaths I believe in Allegheny county and so you know that is still about a much bigger problem for us about the corona viruses is serious it's headed our way we're going to have to figure this out and I'm trying to be optimistic I'm trying to look at the silver lining which is you know next year at this time where and we hopefully have a vaccination in place for this will we be as a society be so Justin to scrubbing and washing our hands so frequently well maybe next year is going to be like the healthiest year on record for us right let's let's hope that there's some silver line there's always good that comes out of something yeah all right thank you Melinda Hey we're coming back reading it right back your phone calls at eight six six three eight nine one ten twenty rapat Saturday continues in a moment morning.

"I can either do celebrate recovery or alcoholics anonymous. which do you recommend and I I tell them? If I had to go to one of the other I will go fox and honest because I know exactly what it's very clearly heresy. It's apostate I can sit there and enclosed my ears and realize that I in the devil's playground celebrate recovery more sinister because it's the same thing but it's got a Christian label on it. You see what I'm saying and I and I think celebrate recovery is actually doing more damage from a Christian in perspective than alcoholics anonymous. Because they've just taken it taken the twelve steps and marketed them as Christian by trying to mix in scripture. Okay so just preface this by saying them to buy experience. The celebrate recovery sturdy also so right after September twenty nine of twenty eight and the reason I found a separate the twos as for good reason like just describe In pretend that I have a more now to celebrate recovery than accused. It's very limited. I did go to a celebrate. Recovery Program does a meeting now on our save three or four years ago I didn't know anything you think about. It pergram. I didn't know that there's twelve steps in it. I appreciate your friend line I go see a Waldo speaker in which we. Here's what I remember. It was about twenty five minutes of rock music literally of Drums Electric Guitar. Rock music. The guy that came out speak came out singing. Garth Brooks broke song I got friends in low places and I don't remember hearing anything about Jesus All server woods thinking like wow this is kind of a different program I don't understand it I left with that friend and I come ask few questions Che's but I really didn't understand it with a twelve step program He didn't tell the So I just want to say that but so so through everything that was that of already described anti charged with what happened the afterwards after routes on that we believe is a Friday Five days after a car wreck where I went to A pastor sure At Church that record been recommended coach. You ran when I told What's going on me I said? Is it possible eligible you know for me to Be So is where am I sober now or is this or is this more a aw possible way. While the first thing he told news that out Synopsys said did you know that falls down especially for sure programme and I said wall now. He said well he said it was. the founders were Christian Wilson's person and There's tall all steps much like the toll houses And I've survivor Scott. I was very this was five days after so. I'm only three days scripture at this point I have to interject that. That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard about because there's twelve steps and twelve apostles. I'm sorry I I heard a lot of justifications but I never heard that one so go ahead that was it and I said I said listen I. I don't think you understand what I'm here for is clarification. I'm very new here but I know something has happened and I know it's not that other principality because he's been talking to me for a long time. I know that slight but this is something else. Why am I reading scripture? While I'm Emma falling in love with this that re- what is you know and So anyways he done certain to you so heavy. Her of celebrate recovery uh-huh CR there is Zach Christian recovering. Some notes called celebrate recovery. which is kind of running in in some ways But in any case you said if you tried that before he said that also. It's something that you can do errands. Well what is he said. Well they meet on Sunday night's dinner Eddie centers were show which could have apparently means a lot of music So hello case. He recommended that to me which I've kind of like okay. We'll try that. Let's let's let me make one point here gets gets the so huge because we've talked about this off. The Air Bent. What he just shared is a glaring example of what is wrong with the modern church? You've got a man coming to you. Who is basically setting you up pitching you a soft pitch to please help him understand the the gospel of Jesus? Christ ben was literally coming in there for clarification. I mean as pastors. We should be sharing the gospel every time. A doors open for us to share it. And this pastor who's in a leadership position. I don't know this guy I probably shouldn't be picking on but it's a glaring example to me of the modern church because he recommend he tried to so a is Christian. Which shows he knows nothing about it it's demonic and then he tries to point Ben to celebrate recovery which is the same thing as a did he ever preach the Gospel to you that that absolutely blows my mind? The end of at the end of our discussion. He said you know I get a lot of people that come into my office and talked me. Who Don't have the what you you have inside the Union me so you know I think you have the Holy Spirit side view he said? Would you pray for me and I said Okay and so I said a perfect for They I don't know if that was if he was testing the spirits. I don't know I said a prayer in any case so hey was from that point on. This was a Friday. I guess I'd have to look for notes but so.

"This week is Christian Wilson from share action the invested this week. We'll be taking a look. Look at Barclays as it comes under fire for its environmental record from Cher action an investor group. I look at Japan as its regional. Thanks get overhauled and finally from Laura in New York a report on a clutch of results I o to Barclays and David. You wrote an interesting story. With our investment correspondent the other day at backed Barclays coming under attack from share action over its record on financing fossil fuels. What exactly has been said? So Barclays like many other banks is under pressure to stop financing coal whole fire power plants and that sort of thing and in this instance there's eleven institutional investors together they manage collectively hundred thirty billion pounds. There are some big names in there as well as some small individual shareholders this we're told is the first resolution of its kind in Europe and puts puts Barclays in a tricky spot. Because they like everybody else. Talk a good game when it comes to green finance and sort of signing up to the various initiatives initiatives but actually putting money where their mouth is and changing. The profile of lending doesn't seem to be happening. Well let me bring in our guest now. Christine and Wilson who is a senior researcher at Chair Action Christian. Thanks very much for being with us. Tell us why have you gone after Barclay's like this to the reason we've chosen vaucluse as a fault. He's really is a global PLA- when it comes to fossil fuel financing that's in the top ten globally. It's number one in Europe and we think just an absolute times from investor perspective. It makes sense really focus in on bought tastes because that's such a big play in the space when we think about Balkanise balkanise never investment bank. Of course it's very much split between Europe and America but actually when we look we compare that policy against the major the US investment banks the investment banks that financed even more than boggs. These days maltesers actually not had related to them in terms of the progressiveness of policy. Let's see when we combine them to Europe. Welcome he's really number. One in terms of financing then fall behind some of that and so we think this is no community football case leadership in America. I'm really catch up with its European. His when it comes to fossil fuel financing. So what would you like to see them. Do you like to see them. MM stop lending to coal companies to oil companies altogether because that would be quite dramatic shift. Obviously what the resolution and split the kiosk is all spoke to align activities in the energy and utilities sector with the Paris Agreement. And you just yes. It does quite a radical loss but actually when you look at the pace of Balkan and some of the largest investors in the world. They already committing to do this. I'm from all points of view. You share action billion investors who followed this with us. What we're saying is that you'll pisses during this ball because we think this is a gap in your strategy and we would like you to as a clear plan to fill that gap so the question is what does that mean in practice what it means to adjust energy lending failure with the science joins all the time and that does not mean from day one they connote onto finance an energy company? A tool what it means is a clear timeline. Overtime phase out sever example impo if we look at best practice in the sex at the moment some banks to saying we will no longer finance. Companies Reliance on coal by twenty twenty twenty five life and then also thinking about those extreme fossil fuels and so low. It may seem like a big step forward. This is actually being committed to a lot of banks in the space already. We all kind of much commitment put into practice other any big banks that you would highlight is doing much better because there are obviously some smaller niche players that make a virtue of being Carina but other genuine. He's doing better on this. Yeah they're all they're all so would you highlight loss. Yeah we saw. The principal was responsible. Banking being launched and that was forty seven trillion of assets being presented by the banking sector. I bought please was one of the founding signatories of those principles. Then just all start. We have a commitment being launched so we'd thirteen trillion times publicly committing to align the lending profiler is with the prosecution so essentially essentially exactly what well resolution I'm not included socgen include. MP included stunned unsheltered Credit Agricole and Santander so the biggest it gets European banks in this space apart from boggs as on the UK banks when we look at the individual policy level. Somebody's banks example. Credit Agricole is committing to phase. He's out cold by twenty five in Europe. Twenty four outside of Europe and twenty fifty and the rest of the world in China. And so that's really practice at the moment we're seeing and there's no reason to Buckley's mashed and that's what we're really hoping they do. It's not so much talk but we think great oaks unity provoke these just to show leadership to its customers onto it. Showers distresses his plays out. But it's a gradual phase out. This is not going to be an abrupt stop financing tomorrow. We just need a strong policy in place to make sure about his loins. Persson's let me come back to David for a final word on this. Firstly you agree with those points. Is this a reasonable request request that is deliverable even if these wanted to do it. And secondly is it going to go through shareholder vote you think. Well I think these other banks should it is deliverable in phased raised manner and so you work with clients. Every period of in some cases up two decades to try to get them to change their business models and if they haven't done it by the end of that period but then you on bank them and somebody takes that business I think the problem for Barclays that list of the banks that had agreed to line their portfolios folios with the Paris climate agreement. The one thing that they all share is the fact that they don't have a big presence on Wall Street and Barclays does and so people inside bank say that that means they are naturally more exposed to fossil fuels and so on but the other big problem putting this in context of what's going on at Barclays Aweys is that Corporate Investment Bank is under attack from an activist at Bramson has been for over a year now and they. They really feel that. They can't sacrifice any revenue at the moment because they need to show that this unit is worth keeping in its current form while it's going to be a fascinating S..
