"They obviously struggled with the injuries are any of those guys that got hurt last year coming back or they no longer on the plans, those that guy that was as big as a house. He's gone sitting. Right. I think he went isn't Kilgore. I don't have my roster in front of me. You know, it's may I haven't memorized me we're looking at this roster. We have all sorts of question marks about the edge rusher on the stalled yet. That's a big. That's a big hole right now. I mean dolphins, Jeff charge. What was the criteria for your top? Fifteen hundred twenty-five like how did you rank them since? They're in different sports. Is it just based on field that stuff? I obviously started with a complete list of, of every teams twenty five and under player, which was, you know, probably a total of odd way doing that. You started just crossing people and eighty percent of them. You know you put a big X through them right away. Who's that guy? What? But then you get, you know it was tough to who were the first five out like who are some of the guys that you didn't leave on that you didn't have on here that you almost for example, our will Wilson just misses a cut six years. Right. Jack Albert Wilson's age to he could be included. Of course I did. I did. Absolutely. And, and there were a couple of guys. I included like Uber dough from the Panthers who barely made it were does like twenty five years, and three hundred and ten days or something. So he barely snuck in. He's an excellent player Jess Hct. Yeah. And I put them lower because he is twenty five you know, a part of the criteria on my list is if I've got two guys of equal talent or promise. In one twenty one and the other twenty five I put the twenty one year old at fifteen you had Christian Wilkins, the rookie, just draft fourteen yet. Victor Victor, Mesa thirteen. You had glad twelve you had Josh Richardson eleven. You had Pablo Lopez feel like Pablo's a little high feel like Eck Blad Josh Richardson, a bit of ahead of him from your article directly. You're saying that his numbers aren't, great. He's three and five win loss record with this Marlin seem as never going to be impressed. But he does have a five year Ray, which ain't great do you take into account that he's doing this, the major league level versus someone at the minor league or Greg. Yeah. I do in the Marlins love Pablo Lopez. He's got I think he's the guy with the great right strikeout, walk ratio. I think he's got like fifty strikeouts and twelve walks or something. I mean that's that's impressive. And they, they like him a lot. You know I go a lot by how the teams feel about these guys like I really struggled with where to place auto. Auto and Justice Winslow and Josh Richardson because you could make an argument that any of the three of them have have a bigger future, but and the, the heater in love with bam. Bam and he he's working on the game. They're gonna experience. I thought, yeah. He's working with Chris Bosh, which is very exciting. He's proven himself to be a tremendous ball handler for size you can initiate offense. I thought the really interesting thing was that you put bam over Justice, and as coming off a very good year. I import they didn't make the playoffs because Justin was a little nicked up towards the end of this. He really shined, replacing Goran Dragic and having the ball in his hair a little low. I don't agree with having Josh Rosen, head of Justice Winslow when Winslow is already made contributions, and we don't know what Rosen is. That's yeah. A little that was a leap of faith with me being a believer in Josh Rosen, Justice Winslow, improved his shooting a little bit, but still is not a great shooter. He's a very dependable three points writer. Right. But but overall field go present. What was he? Forty two percent of he needs to get some touch. My biggest beef with your article was you had Laremy Tunsil at number two, and Xavi and Howard who just got paid line with what is the best contract for a corner in the league..

"That he had done, and I told them like I greatly admire what he had done for our sport for the positions in front offices. You know, he's in the hall of fame where he should be an I was just picking his brain. Because you know, he had done a lot of media. And I said, you know, Bill I have a lot of mixed emotions today because you know, for twenty five years I've been the room and now I'm in a different position. And to be care. I have very mixed feelings, and he had a great line as he usually does Adam he said, you know, Mike, you don't want those mixed feelings to go away. Because that means you cared. You worked hard to get there and from a human nature standpoint. Like, that's really healthy. And at some point you should share that with your listeners. And I thought that was. Such interesting insight. So to answer your question, of course, like have you been with those guys for so many years at lie guys that I know really intimately. It was very surreal to you know, here Miami dolphin pick, you know, and not be part of it. I just kept focusing on like, hey. Dan, Quinn is a guy that I'm very close with good friend. How chance to represent 'em years ago? When of the many things that the Quinn taught me out and was he's like be where your feet are. And I think a lot of successful people live by that. So I heard Christian Wilkins his name go off. And I was really concentrating on like I'm gonna try to do the best ESPN radio drap rock cast, and I possibly can do. And that's really like where I try put all my efforts and energy. But when that pick, you know, when they turned in the card, you know, obviously, it definitely resonated with me from a personal standpoint. What was your assessment of the way your former Miami Dolphins team drafts? They took Christian Wilkins in the first round pick number thirteen in the third round. They took a guard from Wisconsin, Michael deeter in the fifth round a linebacker from Wisconsin. A couple of concerts, Andrew van gingko in the six round, Ohio State of -fensive tackle, Isaiah prince seventh-round Auburn fullback channel Cox. And in the seventh round the Washington running back. Miles gaskin. But was your segment of what you former team did their Mike. Yeah, I really like Wilkins starting there. Like, if you go back all the way to Suffield academy like he has really really special sort of leadership selflessness authenticity like people just rave about him. And I remember coach marseils when the lessons he always talked about was the great players have attributes you can't see and how they affect others. And you know, I don't know Wilkins, obviously. But it just sounds like he has a chance to be one of those types of foundational players where he could affect others mak- Fitzpatrick year ago, the player we drafted a university. Alabama was a lot like that. So I like Wilkins in Brian flory's is defense in particular their front seven Adam versatility is a hallmark of that defense. And I think we'll have that sort of football IQ where they'll be able to move around and one week. We'll be talking about him at a classic three technique. I'm sure the move them around on the defensive line all through the year. And he has the ability to do that. So. Sometimes players have a lot of Billy on the field. But maybe not the football acumen to take you know, all these varied assignments. So I think there was a great pick. Obviously, you know, the bigger move that people talking about is Josh Rosen Dreeze your that was their second round pick. And look I like it. I talked a lot about how you know, there's cost certainty for four years. He went on the road last year. Adam he beat Green Bay on the road. It's very unusual for team to trade up three and a five which did in two thousand eighteen and give up on him after year if we look back at Jared Goff. He threw five touchdowns in year one that was under Jeff Fisher, they moved on from Jeff Fisher, Sean McVay came in through twenty touchdowns in year two hundred Sean McVay. So I'm not saying that Roussel's can take that sort of step forward. But Jim Colwell the associate head coach of the dolphins..

"So I could continue to be salty about them moving on from Rosen and going from of may or the bit factor and listen to this. If Josh Rosen lights up this year collar Murray mites up. Miami travels the air is on next year. That would be a Sunday four we're going. We're going to you. And how to having our PM. They can also plan the Super Bowl this year to right? Yes. Yup. The dolphins are gonna make the Super Bowl is not kid ourselves. Definitely. Any last thoughts before route snow side? No, you'll hear how much draft capital we have gone into twenty twenty you'll hear about how much money we have left to spend. We have even more money that we could spend an terms of the contracts that we could get out of going into twenty twenty. Whether you're looking at Reshad Jones, TJ McDonald our Wilson Kenny stills, he go laws. Devante parker. So there are so many different directions that seem can go in that you just hope that the roots replanted this year. We're gonna build a sang. I just wanted to my head to Chris Greer because what he's done. I mean, I know we kind of thought this was going to be trust the process saying there's such a long way to go. But what he's done in a short matter time. I mean, some touched on all those picks next year. I mean that is a New England thing that the Miami Dolphins absolutely have not done in decades. And they go out there, and they they acquire all these picks. They go out there and get a quarterback who was highly touted the the year before you know, they got twenty two year old franchise potential game changing quarterback out of this draft. You gotta take out to Chris Greer. It's another solid Dr Christian Wilkins. I mean, that's a home pick, Michael. And Josh Rosen if those guys pan out, I mean, this franchise could be a contender for many many years. The next of free. This for the dogs will begin may eighth. Just went at the free agency. Sign will no longer comes against compensate, Tori formula, accumbens remain intact. So please keep your eyes on that. Dolphins are expected to be players in that second wave of regency. They a lot of interesting names out there to some bigger names that you wouldn't think would be available to points. Yeah. We'll definitely get that next week's on Vince radio which will be right before the start of that period. And again, the dolphins are expected to be active as look too short up their debts and get some bodies into camp and make sure the roster is sets as we head into the regular season..

"Should we not pursue that any further? Disclaimer do not draft Miami dolphin running backs and fans now while the patriots version two you have no idea was doing the mall. Absolutely. No question about it. I love it. The monthly Vienna's you this year. Yeah. You'll probably have a teams by the time record our first preseason bar on money on it right now. Five teams at least five really try not to stresses me out too much. Yeah. I doubt that very much. Anyways idea the Miami Dolphins and overall grade of forty five point six best relent in the NFL. I thought by team Irizawa was seventy three point four one by New Orleans, Tennessee, Minnesota in Cincinnati bangles, my word strive drafts with a three point six seven again lowered the number on the overall grades the worse. It is higher. The number. The veteran is Zimmerman school forty three point six seven followed by the Felker near Seahawks in eagles. I know some people might be asking the raiders item. Number twenty second overall, relax on the patriots ranked twenty first over on people were saying, well, the patriots got non yes, they did the value. But they also reached I think what the punter. I think you can never really guest that with the puncher. And I think that kinda you know, brought through gray down a little bit overall. Yes, they had a decent drafts. But. You know, I don't I don't see the impact players that they had. It's it's so natural. Bus macular late round picks. It's and it's so natural to just assume the patriots slay the draft every year, and they're honestly, they're not any better than drafting at any other team in the last ten years. Go ahead, go through it. Tell me yet. They're just not the draft is as equally crap shoot for everybody had the rents over fourteen overall Nelson might have some disagreements with these grades these are based on the formula together. And I'm confident in it, and obviously time will tell we're one lies. But I wish I wish you're wrong about AirAsia because I do agree that they had a really good draft. I just hope that they are wrong..

"Still some good prospects on the board there when we could have drafted at that at New Orleans pick that we ended up getting in the second round. But hey, we we turns. We turn the twenty twenty draft pool. Into a pretty interesting thing we have what two picks in every round except the first next year. So the fact that we were able to do something kind of weird like that. But awesome. We have so many directions we could go at it puts us in a really unique position. I'm not sure. If I felt the same way about the team. And like I always felt like we're we would be low at this time of year when we're looking at next year's draft capital or looking at. We're looking at aria starter here. I know you have no idea what I meant just their math unites set on purpose. All I heard was aria. And I just know what you're talking about. I'm not gonna talk about Dima thrones Kazan Ranchi not to be. I don't like it. You're not gonna Beijing into it. Right. America's got talent comes on pretty soon. Few weeks fat guide story or thank God. Some real programming's coming back on those juggling seriously biscuits. Dog eat the biscuit off its knows. I'm not sure what you guys hate on it so much. I think it's just because we spite you, and that's just one convenient avenue to do that. Have you ever watched mega talent toback? Yes. We all watched at least episode. Okay. And how are not inspired and moves by the golden buzzer. When the effective falls from the sky. I don't know about the golden buzzer turned what is going. Other is John. Jordan is Josh ragging shower. But it's the golden buzzer is Josh, wait. Let. So is this is this what you like shower beers so much because you're doing golden showers is Josh Rosen or golden it's a whole new territory for us, bro. Montrose, and is Lindley from enhanced like a really moving performance or a really knock your socks off performance each show each audition show, the one of the judges has the golden buzzer in her hints. If that participant that contest it really moves that judge or whoever it is usually one golden buzzer per show that judge can hit the buzzer and on manically that contestant goes straight through to the live show. The effect is dramatic like they hit the golden star playing music software is gonna Akron building-up prerecorded for addition. So you kinda get sensitive coming bills up in the goose slow interesting about the I'm John this can't you're building so much nut. Nut grow, the stop it. No pause it. And then all of a sudden though, I would later go boom Golan. Buzzer comes flying old and shower over place, golden show, shower everything. The person may get rain person golden buzzers crying on the state. That is what happened when the dolphins traded for Josh Rosen is so really moving moments. That's what Christian Wilkin stood in the Roger Goodell on stage. Speaking of Christian Wilkens. The renault. Josh rosen. Clearly, goodness, save this French. It doesn't take much to quarterback. The statements franchise QB inside Christian Wilkins who in their right mind. Let me just back up a step. What did we San Francisco radio draft the episode for the drought? I think it was a day or two before what we say. Remind me Matthew. I think you said that we were gonna draft Christian Wilkins in repeat that for the people in the MAC. Well, let me see a flak and use my Boston court back in act a little bit. It's australian. Oh, man. Hey. That reminds me your accent there like when you get drunk. You're acting. It's really thick Angie. Cincinnati out Rennick. You just have talking. I was wanting to tweet you Saturday 'cause the Bengals stick was at Paul stadium. But you could see Bridget you walked over and evacuate. And I wish I got three shot, but I couldn't. But the bridge was there lay should have my picture up on that bridge right now to be honest with the Kambli wash that bridge. It was ten a hill. Made you do those devastating game. Ryan tannehill. Remember that? There's no there's no way. Josh Rosen loses. I game. No, no, shoes the trails. Not.

"The ravens who was the team that it was perceived if they're targeting Brad again front of and so when the trade goes through I had the same guy gave me the Christian Wilkins trade the same eagles guy gave it the criminal straight say this is, you know, they're moving up, and I and I said, do you think it's Hollywood Brown? And he was like, yes, I was like I don't believe you because they're the ravens with back. They moved out of the ravens. They wouldn't have been trading with raves. You'll Hollywood brat right smells this for tackles diligent in front of the Texans. Go get a tackle you read. Peter King report on the raiders, no apparently Jon Gruden sorry to throw a hissy fit in the war room. Because he thought the trading in front of them for Jacobs. He thought eagles were trading for running back. You thought how Roseman was moving up to twenty two to draft. Josh Jacobs in front of the raiders and Gruden had his heart set on the raiders Monroe fuse to not get him. How are you? So. Oblivious to the fact that the eagles probably won't take running back around what especially after requiring Jordan Howard. But then they would trade up for running back daylight Jake of so much. They're going to get in front of you Oakland for Josh Jacobs, pay rarely unit was like losing his mind. This whole story going to deserve the point that Dillard changed everything Gillard being available to late teens to you. You took it first round draft prime lit on fire throughout the window. Right. It was like vocal Eoghan falling after pick number one. Like, it was just changed the whole game. No, one knew how to react Philly just makes quick trade up small trade goes and secures the guy as we've talked about I'm not huge fan of Diller's. I think forty seven forty ninth over all for me on my final board your lot lower. He was forty seventy was twenty on mine. So I was higher. But I'm interested with how you feel about the fit here in Philly. Right. So that's that's that's what we've been saying from the jump like when we talked about Diller three months ago Earl actually even say like two weeks ago when we knew he. Going top fifteen. We were positive go top fifteen. There was no doubt. He was going fifteen year. We said I Lee has to go place where he's able to to develop number one. And number two. They're gonna let him pass protected space. He's not gonna be responsible being Ligo road. Paver is not going to have.

The voice of Christian Wilkins, the dolphins first round pick defensive tackle will as we call them. And if we don't probably the most likeable dude in that draft room coming out and jumping. Hi, Roger Goodell. Didn't exactly get what Christian Wilkins was trying to do. But it made for cool pictures Wilkins got up there or we'll because he liked to call them as to be careful. He's gonna hurt himself. Yeah. Especially with those loafers. He's got Sal. So the white ranger reference that you mentioned before it was just a reference to a suit, but he was dressed up as power fellow Power Rangers with his purpose gay. So do you. What do you think like his outfit was a callback because it was white ranger colors with? Yeah. No, the inside of the jacket had the white ranger logo on it. That's yeah. That's so cool. Yeah. As a whole thing that he likes up I was never able to forgive Tommy for how evil he was green ranger. And since I was a red ranger guy. All the way, I was like you're trying to come in on Jason's ground. And then like the pink ranger really liked the green ranger when he started turning good. Good. I was like hold on the leader. Here is the red ranger. And you guys remember a lot about the rain. Do you? Remember the episode where Zach because the team leader like 'cause the green ranger was wearing that that vest of some sort and then the red ranger got to wear for while. There was an episode where Zach to wear it. Do you? Remember, those huge. Remember that flew play. Baseball. No. I don't remember. You know, it was it was raises mad at me. Yeah. Getting ready to strike for that baseball. Hurt again. Share the same thing. Yeah. That's probably that's probably what it sounded. Also like baseball tonight too. Yeah. I didn't like that. He also had is like huge like his body was as big as like the other butts when they all combined green Rangers just born with a silver spoon in his mouth. I didn't like that. They all combined. "Here. Cuyler Murray should send a little thank you note, maybe to Baker Mayfield because Baker Mayfield showed last year that a as someone who's not that prototype size. Tim can be successful in the NFL and cliff very out there in Arizona is going to install a new offense. And Kyla Murray's the kinda guy that can fit in there. Now having said that this would have never happened in the NFL that guy five foot ten no take number one overall. You think back Michael Vick was he's a little bit bigger, but still this is kind of an unprecedented pick, and it's going to have to be evaluated down the road. The other problem for the cardinals now is still up. Josh rosen. He is still on the roster unable to trade him. I still think they're going to try to trade him. But now, it's a buyer's market is definitely a buyer's market. I thought look I knew they got clip Kingsbury that this was probably going to happen. But I hoped that somebody's head would have prevailed and kept it from happening. All right. Let's talk about the giants taking Daniel Jones at number six wait until number seventeen and got him. Absolutely. They could've traded down and done this. Obviously, Pat Shurmur believes this is their quarterback of the few cherry won't up to start right away behind Eli manning. But I agree unless the giants had information that somebody is ready to jump in there and take Daniel Jones. Here's the issue here. He does have that prototye type size six five to twenty. But if you look at his numbers from Duke, he really didn't improve much over his three years as a starter. In fact, you might say his freshman year might have been best year. So the upside here questionable and the giants fans as you might imagine him not very happy. They never have. Happy happy. That's true. Given that a couple of reasons number one they didn't like the pic. We we know that. But number two they passed on Dwayne Haskett. That's what I don't understand. Yeah. He not not only did they pass on him. He fell into the lap of the Redskin. Which is you know, how that goes in division? You don't wanna see that happen? You might have to play him twice a year. So they've got a couple of reasons to really put this one under the spotlight. All right. Let's move onto the Miami Dolphins. I think this was a pretty good pick a lot of people don't like it. But I like it. I think it's a pretty good pick Christian Wilkins, great defensive tackle. We found out. How good he was when we went out on suspension last year. Yeah. Outstanding player. This is not your sexy type of pick for the Miami. Dolphins who need a lot of help. But this is a guy who's going to be in headline for a lot of years and provide some impact on that defensive line any surprises to you. Well, yeah. There were you know, I really thought the team that was going to be the key to the first round was going to be the Oakland. Maybe they were going to load up and try to move up and do some things and then they hit us apprised pick with number four with Cleveland Farrell from Clemson outstanding player bright. There was another one where you probably go to got him in the fifteen or so range, maybe even twenty but a at again shows the priority put on Dallas Cowboys are going to be looking for these guys as well. The priority put on somebody who can get to the quarterback feral twenty-seven career sacks. He can do that. All right. And we also know that the Dallas Cowboys don't have a pick until I believe it's fifty eight today in the second round in Oakland could trade and get Josh Rosen. They could do that. They could end up doing that as well. So there's a lot of teams that could be in the mix for Josh Rosen. Of course, the Miami Dolphins had been mentioned as as well. Right now. They've got Ryan Fitzpatrick as their starter. Yeah. I know that's unfortunate. All right. Tonio first news correspondent and former voice of the Miami. Dolphins bills ever have a great weekend..

"And by the way, not a long road. The skins are going to need a replacement for Trent Williams Williams's is going to lose his affective nece here at some point. How many years does he really have? They're going to need a replacement tackle in Jona Williams is a tackle can start his career as a guard. But you know, he's got a Teaneck Stu his name more than a g next to his name. Anyway, I like Joan Williams and I do like marquees Brown as a wide receiver. I do. He's a game changer on offense. Charley Casserly loves him says he doesn't know how anybody will cover him. He's tiny. He's five nine and a half. A buck sixty six is his listed weight. Combine wait he had a foot injury. But he's in that category of. Player that defenses will have to game plan for and really the last player that the Redskins had that fit that description to Sean Jackson. I mean, I guess Jordan Reed when he's healthy if they take Brown at fifteen wouldn't bother me at all. I like Paris Campbell a lot from Ohio State. He's he's a day to pick apparently Brown at fifteen. I'd have no problem with. I'd have no problem with Christian Wilkins from Clemson at fifteen. I know he's an interior defensive tackle. But if he's the best player on their board, Alan pain, you know, they've re-signed Itis Wilkins. I think if he's there you'd have to consider it. He could be the best player on the board at fifteen if he makes it they're like Allen. All right. Hi character winner Wilkins if he's there and they took him. It would be an indication there drafting their board. I would love it at Oliver. I don't think will be there at fifteen but some characterize. Issues have had him dropping. He's another interior guy. Not a nose tackle. But let me be clear about at Oliver. His talent is unmistakable. It's Aaron Donald talent Fletcher, Cox talent. And by the way, let's make sure we understand that. While Jon Allen is going to be a very good player. He's not Aaron Donald Ed Oliver could be Jon Allen is going to be a very good interior defensive linemen for years to come. Hopefully, but he's not Fletcher Cox, and he's not Aaron Donald at Oliver has the talent to be Aaron Donald if he slipped because of his character issues, and he was sitting there fifteen I think the Redskins would have to consider. I do let me get to the list of the players that I don't love at fifteen all of the quarterbacks not named Murray that starts my list of players that could potential. Be there. Fifteen that I don't want the Redskins to take all of the quarterbacks not named Murray. I don't have any of them. I just don't I fear. Join Haskins the most I just don't see it with Haskins. I think his I think beyond being immobile. I don't think he's got great feeling the pocket, and he certainly doesn't handle pressure. Well, I don't think he's anywhere near ready or anywhere near as good. As the guys that went last year. You know darnold Rosen Mayfield, Josh Allen. I would much rather the skins trade fifteen overall for Rosen, which I don't think they're gonna do then draft Haskins or lock or Daniel Jones, all of the QB's not named Murray would be disappointing for me at fifteen and definitely disappointing. If they decided to trade up for one of them Cleland Ferrell from Clemson is not a guy that I want him to take it fifteen. Here's the deal with feral. He just doesn't have the speed or. Explosiveness that sweat. Has that polite has not the polite sa- first round pick skins might be able to get him in the fourth round. All right. He's he obviously doesn't have with Josh Allen or Bosa has he's a powerful N in a four three to me. He's not a he's just not a pass rusher that this team should be looking for same goes for Russia on Gerry underachiever too many plays. He takes off he's explosive more than feral. But never got the consistent results. So Rashawn Gary would be on my list of a of guys I wouldn't want them to take fifteen Brian burns is on my list of guys. I would not want them to take fifteen the the pass rusher from Florida state. This is an interesting one because he does flash on tape..

"Three behind Taylor and John Williams. Perfect pick perfect fit. Who would you rather take Christian Wilkins or Cody for Jamie? I mean, he can't lose with either there as I choose I would take bookings because I haven't graded higher on my board. And I think you too, but. Actually, wait. Now. I don't know. I don't know Wilkins's my last now, I've got four grade one point higher. But I'd still take Wilkins. I think really I think so I think so I think it'd be close it'd be a tough call. But I just think that they've been without a quality defensive tackle for so long that I just think it has to happen in focus is on the board. There's just no other option. Okay. But I do like that pick. They're both days very happy with that pick. I would like Cody Ford over Christian Wilkens. That's just me though. So then around to not quite looking to white receivers to tackle. I already got. So I'm not looking there either interior defensive line Charles Amena who Andrew mon- Jones or their Ronel, Ren Kaelin Saunders. All there. Of course. I wanna go safety here. Say I talked about earlier safety is dang, man. Okay. So how it was going to go want Thornhill here. But he's gone. The guys that are available Taylor rap in money. Hooker and deonte Thompson. I think Hooker and wrap are more strong safeties and free safeties. And I don't want to run into that problem again. And as much as I hate to do it you and I are going to have the same second round pick. But this is my draft. This is what I would do here. I would pick the Thompson we talked about. What a great pairing us would be. Yeah, I've seen people wanting to take Taylor rap in the first round for the charters. And I I don't get it. I think he's a good football player. But I just think he's too. He's too redundant. In terms of his skill set. He's a kind of a poor man's Derwin. James more of a nickel linebacker strong safety type not really fast enough athletic enough to play that deep safety role. I know I've seen some people say you just take the best player and stick him out there. But I just I don't think he suited to that. Particularly on the charter system where he's the only guy back there. Yeah. No. I think he's got the lack of top end system that you just don't want on the back end. And he's not very good silent sideline. You want him as closely as possible and. And when they played him a free safety is when he did not look good. And I think that's part of the why part of the reason why he's not a first round player to me when they played him at a free safety. He just dropped down to my grade. So I'm not taking Taylor rap because you know, you've got a much better player near the line of scrimmage, and then you've got guys like Adrian Phillips were roaming around. And you've got another hybrid KYW's. Your winds playing linebacker used to be a safety plan that spur position at West Virginia. I don't I don't think you need to take Taylor raptor. And I don't think it's a very good fit. Good player. Not a guy. I'm taking the first round. But in the second round he'd make sense there for another team. Just not with the chargers. So moving onto the third round. It's talk about some guys that I'm looking at here wide receiver. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Okay. All right. We'll go back to receiver in just a second tight end. Josh Oliver cadence Smith, I'm gonna wait their interior defensive line, tristen hill, Kaelin Saunders, Gerald Willis. Let's go back to receiver for one minute. Okay. This is this is my draft. Right. I can do throw curve ball. I think I'm gonna throw curveball here. I'm gonna take don't hang it. All right. I'm not gonna hang you here. Here's what's going to happen. I didn't think you'd be here. But I'm gonna entertaining. JJ are Sehgal Whiteside in the third round. Oh, I like that big numbers at Stanford is I think he needs to improve his route running but such a good red zone weapon. Big tall body can get seperation downfield creates yards after the catch. I think as a wide receiver three with some wide receiver to if not best-case.

"Out and about fifteen minutes before the first pick for so said w and make sure you go to the bathroom everyone did. And then he came in locked and no one getting getting mown and saying, hey, we might take we might take Jody with this next. So. These guys that like security of it the way more them nowadays than ever. They do not want the scouts out tell and I wanna make sound like scouts all do it. But enough doing those words mice guys so most of getting relief duties as soon as drafts over you mentioned you doing seven players day, and you've got them almost all done going to hundred deep, and you're almost ready to just leave with what you determined and scouted in valuated. I'm sure you're looking at other individuals and their process of not talking to him on your show or talk them off the air has there been one guy that stood out one way or the other. You know, what the general consensus is players a tough at teen pick the first round of. But not a top fifty. He's a second. Right. He's a day to pick today. Three you got a general consensus feeling all these guys whose the player would stood out the most for you that you say everybody else's cut this guy higher than I do or everybody else got this guy lower than I do that you needed to double back and go, no. Oh, yeah. I feel it's way. He's going to say he's way better than everybody saying who's the guy who's confounded you. Well, let me start the top. Because the first guy I started with I did defense. I thought it was gonna be a predominantly defensive draft in the first round. So I started with the Alabama tackle. And then I use him as a point of reference done with Clinton Williams. I did every other defensive tackle in the draft. Knowing where I felt the point of reference was so do they stand up to him? Well, Chris Wilken stands up to him. I prefer Clinton but I- Christian Wilkins that Clemson is not far off. And there are people that think of him as kicked fifteen kick sixteen. I don't know how they they. They arrive at that. This is a big man, whose I character guy who's the best player in a four man front. That's all getting drafted. So so I like him a lot more than others. Do Oliver was my next tackle. And there's a guy that has in my mind has to play in four three D friends. So if you're a four three team your draft for it's going to have him up in the top five if you're at three fourteen you're gonna have them somewhere around ten because he has game fit. So that's the other part of these things. So I think the tackle group is going to be strong. I think you'll see four of them maybe in the top ten and then then. They'll dissipate awhile. Then by the time we get to the end of the first round. I think they'll be six of them. I'm thinking that's going to be eleven defense of linemen in the first round. So it's a great year for that stuff. Quarterbacks are always a big debate. The Ohio State took a hit in the last couple of weeks. But I think it's media driven. And this is the type, you know, this Bennett was we're all gonna start telling lies if we're drafting we're all going to say, hey, worried about his medical sweats. Gotta hardest to swim as heart issue. I went to the senior bowl they pass them on a physical. He was terrific. He goes to the combine they pass them on a physical. He runs the fastest forty in the history of the combine for defense event. So the story lines are all out there in order for guys to fall right in the lap of someone who's probably thinking I can't get to this guy unless I get a story going. All right, Pat, one more I gotta get this one. I know you've stayed long. I appreciate that. But again have. Having gone through it and been part of it in different war wounds, different coaches in the light. And you know, it leads up to the draft and your as well connected as anybody in the media aspect of the NFL from your feel are we going to have an active couple of days as far as trade's coast years as a handful never know trades, but some narrow more than others and some narrow bigger ones in the first ten picks and others that don't start till the second round. What is your feel right now for how activate trade market and fell draft three day show is gonna be? Yeah. I think it's gonna be very active, and I'll give you a couple of reasons. Number one, there were already nine trades that have been made last year the year before that are into this draft. That players and physicians have been moved around from things they wanted to do in two thousand seventeen or sixteen. So you got that issue. You've got GM's a lot of younger GM's that are just very aggressive and not afraid trade. And they and they they have a relationship with each. Then you have some of the other ones like John Dorsey in Cleveland, and Dave Gettleman have already done a few trade this off season. Oh, Dell's gone and the big guard has gone in. And consequently, they they got a relationship so Cleveland not having a pick in the first round. I could see them doing something again with the giants have pick. So here's how you look at it. I look anyway, there are seven teams seven that have at least ten draft picks. Most of them have eleven or twelve and then there are seven teams that don't even have seven picks. So the guys. Out picks like Seattle. They only have four picks. They're gonna wanna move down. And they're trying to move down and try to get more pick. They want more young players. That's how you make your salary cap work and the guys with a lot of picks are are gonna go. She and their way into positions to get the player choice. You even look at the patriots and the patriots of sitting there, and they got a dozen. They're gonna see someone they want. They're going to go up and get them. And so I think there's going to be a number trades. Put an ember on the first and second round. I take the over under at six. The over and he'll make your day show that much easier that much more fine and Joya tell Mr. Brandt, we send our regards even though you said Kodiak, not as big a Dan Jones fan as you. And I. The battelle. I said, hi, Pat, always great. Whenever you come on. Thanks much for the insight today. Catch the next couple of days covering drafts here. Thanks to have you. Happy Easter Easter you to pack Carwyn, former NFL executive host to move into chains on Sirius XM's NFL radio and also will be a major contributor for their draft coverage. Canyon with you. You wanna talk some NFL draft. You Pat about value versus need it never changes. Even the draft changes in the way, they valuate players and the amount of information out there. The one thing that never changes the Joel debate between value added and filling in eat it's a balancing act that you have to do every single talk about your team your player the guy coming out of your college where he's going into draft. When you do that.

"So if you could get Christian Wilkins at twenty five it'd be great if you trade up a couple of spots for him also okay with that yummy knock on him in shutout to our good friend, Noah Becker, who has been hammering this allow for for a bit. Now does the fact that like he's kind of older for job prospect than he turns twenty four this year. I know that doesn't sound super old. But you know, some of these other rookies by comparison today during brunette still twenty two so. Consider it is a little bit on the older side. And you kind of wonder too when you're looking at his production in what he's done like how much is he like why is there a part of him that he's been better? Just because like he's older than some of these other guys facing? Yeah, I get that as a potential knock. But I think that's the only thing you don't love about him. Like, he's the thing with him is I don't think he's ever going to be elite. Like, I don't think he has that kind of like takeover potential like Fletcher Cox, necessarily by used to be a really darn good defensive tackle. And he's going to be able to generate a lot of pressure is going to be disruptive, especially in the scheme. So to me that's a pick really like in terms of one that's probably more realistic than Ed Oliver. Yeah. And I've seen in some mocks or he's going higher than I think it would even be possible for the eagles to to draft than in some Oxy's falling to the eagles and falling pass the eagles. He seems to be a guy that there's not a lot of there's no consensus on kind of where he's going to go here. Beal jay. So if you're going defensive tackle that would give. Where the eagles are picking. That would be a terrific terrific selection. Number three for you be Eljay threes, Cody Ford, the offense of tackle. And some people think you might be guard in the NFL from Oklahoma. I just think that dude is a beast. It's big his comparison on NFL dot com. Scouting report from Lancer, sir line is actually eagles right guard Brandon Brooks. So you know to add another player of that caliber if he can be that good for the eels on this offense of line. I dislike that a lot. I think you can potentially come in and play guard your one again, if let's say like Brandon Brooks isn't ready to play right away early in the season. Maybe throw Cody Ford out there. He starts for a little bit. He serves as a backup behind small. Oh, as well as smaller struggles unit convention, and which hopefully doesn't happen. But if it does not have the option there if you have a tackle injury vision of your starter. But then all of a sudden you have code afforded backing him up instead of literally no one. So or Jordan my ladder, you know, counting on him in year two. So I really just like the Patel. Title of putty Ford potentially being there, and then again, decent beaters retires. Maybe you move lean Johnson over to the left side. Or maybe you're just fine. Keeping Cody Ford at left tackle. I I really liked that essential to add to their. I just think, you know, protecting Carson Wentz very very important thing for this team. And if you can do that, and you can get Cody Ford, I like that pick. Yeah. And I think he checks off a lot of boxes for the eagles too. Because you're like you said he can play multiple positions on on the on the defensive on the offensive line was reading some things about him today to he kind of has a little bit of a mean streak to him. It's a lot of regard. So you certainly don't mind that and I think just some some of the weaknesses that he showed us a little bit in in pass protection..

"So that a little bit of a reinforcement there. That's not something that decides these for me, but it helps aright Garrett bradberry Keller Murray sorry. Let's go. No, gary. I mean, the only reason that Garrett one those because those guys are number are good number two corners for us, which I mean, it would be a would be an embarrassment of riches considering what the guy they're lining up across from. But I mean, it's gotta be Cuyler Keiler is just a stupid funny aspect aperture. All right. So I'm sorry. Garrett run sitting on there. All right, man. Dalton in Christian Wilkins as much as I love Dahlan resident like I can't not take Christian Wilkins at that point. Like again, I think Christiane Wilkins is the better overall talent. And I think both of those guys are similar off the field kind of guys. But you gotta take a town guy at that point. I feel like this bracket is turning into like a photo rohrschack right now where. I'm figuring out. Like, what's really what what lies deep down in your soul with these players because I knew you were big fans of both guys. You don't want to venture stint down at Zach soul. You'll find a whole bunch of nothing. Oh, man. And now this episode Dr Ryan move it on. And now if you have right now things get ugly. Brian Brian burns Cuyler Murray. If it's because like again color Marie I probably. I probably shouldn't have put Tyler Murray on the board either. Because if the number one self is true, there's there's obviously no way he's getting there. And I think even if the number one stuff isn't true Miami has to make a move for him. But you gotta remember that who the two guys that the collective Miami staff. Love last year Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, skillset, Oklahoma training. Attitude is not something that comes with Cuyler Murray. They don't have the same demeanor. But then Lamar Jackson on. What is Kyle Murray? If not the marriage of those two guys. Right. Yeah. I mean, I I love him. And it would be so much fun to see that guy as a Miami dolphin. I'm not getting think of getting my hopes up here. Maybe that's just me trying to get out in front of this interesting. Like, I for me, it's Brian Berea. Yeah. We'll we'll go Brian burns here. Just because again, I just don't think Keller Murray is around. But if he is who boy. Yeah. Oh man kit. That's going to kill this fan base. Though. Can you imagine just in terms of the just everyone's collective blood pressure? Just going through the roof at that. All right. Here's the championship burns Wilkins. What do you think this? This is a really tough one. Because I I think they're both extremely talented guys. I heard a couple of interviews with Brian burns as well. I don't I think he's a good leader. I don't know if he'll be vocal locker room presence kinda guy. But he knows his stuff. He he's on some of the interviews. He's really convinced. He knows the Xs and os of what he needs to get done. And what the guys around him do as well. And I think he's more versatile than people think 'cause he moves well off the ball. So I think there's scenarios where you can play him with his hand in the dirt. I think there's scenarios that if you wanted to play him off the ball if you. To stand him up, and rush I think those are there's opportunities for that. I don't know if I would ask him to do all that. But I like I said early on I'm sticking with Christian Wilkins as we move closer to the draft. He is quickly. Cemented into my pick thirteen..

"Ran four nine three at thirty two vertical. Flashed and games wasn't consistent. If you saw them in the right game Stanford game being the best game of his career. With four sacks thought he was a top ten pick other games. He was too quiet. That's wise at six not in the top five. But Jerry Tillery from Notre Dame could be a late first round pick. But he's at six so he's not into top five. We'll go at five Christian Wilkins defensive tackle. Clemson makes it in at five something we'll go higher than that. Something should be deserved to be rated higher than that. I look at him at six three and a quarter three hundred and fifteen pounds moves. Well, strong a professional in every sense of the word. He's been productive versatile tackle end. They move him around gets off blocks and fast fashion. Go sideline to sideline could football. Accurate productions been solid not spectacular player. Not a. Wow you over player, but you'll like the way hustles. It gets coverage sacks. I think Christian Wilkins hard for me to gauge where he'll go. He's going in the first round is going top fifteen or is it going to get into that twenty five range. I'll probably put him right away at fifteen to twenty area Christian Wilkins defensive tackle Clemson at number five. All right. No surprise. I figured we'd see at least one Clemson tiger on this list at five Christian Wilkins, number four on your big board of defensive tackles. It's a guy that is a physical freak at six four and a half three hundred and forty two pounds long arms around five. Oh, five and even even finish. The forty time came up at the end with the injury by would have been around five to thirty six reps. Yeah. He didn't get a lot of sack story, but Dexter Lawrence defensive tackle in at number four. Because of the fact he's disruptive he's got power athleticism. He occupies a pursue. Down the sideline. He got a lot of past pressures that go on notice even though the sack totals weren't high. He had a great freshman year when he was healthy. It's been a little nicked up at times when he's at full strength. He is a force to be reckoned with. He is a guy can play on knows. He can plan a four three. He's got that kind of scheme versatility Dexter Lawrence to me, go go anywhere between ten and twenty solid first round or something late. I I don't think he gets down in the something. He goes ten to twenty at the latest. I'll go Dexter Lawrence defensive tackle. Clemson at number four Clemson at five Clemson at four about number three. Well, here's a guy. You could argue it would have been a two had it not been for the a C L that happened in February working out training and Jeffrey Simmons Mississippi State. Yeah. You had the off the field issue back prior to coming the Mississippi State. But when he's been there, he's been solid. He's at no issues at all the coaches rave about Jeffrey Simmons work work ethic is attitude professionalism since he's been there. Led the team fourth in the SEC was seventeen tackles for loss was a highly rated kid he was a five star kid coming in. I love his eye disipline. He hustles. He's got a ton of talent. I think if he doesn't have the ACLU probably goes mid I probably put him late. I when I do the mock draft coming out March twenty sixth Jeffrey Simmons defensive tackle, Mississippi State, my number three highest rated defensive tackle right now. Number two defensive tackle on the big board. Who is well back in August should've thought he was a lot number one defensive tackle. And at Oliver from Houston six one and three quarters two hundred eighty seven pounds to seventy two people thought he was during the season and got it up the to eighty seven thirty two reps thirty six vertical when he runs at his pro day. He's talking maybe four seven if he does that he's going top ten to fifteen. Yeah. You think about a guy who didn't always finish the sat numbers? But it was a disruptor has got strong hands. He just made place to get sacks. He was at this, ROY..

Make an insane one headed grab full extension to get this one. Oh, I did miss that. I hadn't seen that to this very second. That is a spectacular. Catch. See USC stays on the highlight tape not from a good lease not very good by the Trojans might be seeing this guy come into a stadium. New you on Sundays won the top rated. Why receivers we have coming out in the two thousand nineteen draft. Look at chew on your. They just came in Florida state three hundred pound Christian Wilkin in at tailback powers as way into the end zone with three hundred forty pound Dexter Lawrence block. Remember, where's the beef? Yeah. I do it's right during the back. I like that. I need more fat people touchdowns in my life. I like that. Now, Clemson scored a touchdown would just about anyone. They wanted to in this football game. This was an Nyalali Wilkins's always on the sideline till in dabbled handing, Nepal silent. You can see him. Always. Gimme the ball. Gimme the they. Finally, let him touch it. I white out Adam failing using the defenders helmet for a fourteen yard gain, watch it Craig kitschy. It seems like week after week one guys trying to top another guy's catches Kirk cousins throws it right at the back of his head that way, the coaches tell you to do in feeling goes up and plucks at tremendous catch guys. Having a tremendous season. Also had his eight hundred yard game last night steal not his best game of the season. After that fumble loss for an ical fumble loss by him. Go after this that that flip the game. We'll talk more about that later. But this this guy's evolution as a player as really all. I stopped. Oh my God. Finally on breaking through the middle. Hurdles the day powers into the end zone. I mean, this will play aren't So Chris watchable boat my house yesterday and he had the chiefs game somehow like a few seconds ahead of me on the eye on his ipad. I'm watching on the screen because I pay my cable all k-. Yeah. That's it. And he he stood up and started shouting before even scored they run a little option fake option pitch. And then not only the hurdle. He lays on his back leg. It was incredible. It was one of phenomenal athletic feats, watching run through those two tackles right there jump off one leg land on that leg and instill power through chiefs won the game. We'll have highlights from this game coming up. Let's move onto some Packers and the undefeated LA Rams billed as a blow out by the oddsmakers. This is anything. But let's jump ahead to the fourth. Aaron Rodgers finds Marquez vow. This can't link for the touchdown. That puts Green Bay up one later in the. Fourth Todd Gurley runs at twenty three yards down to the thirteen yard line that sets up a Greg zero line field goal. And that would put the Rams up by two little more than two minutes left for Aaron Rodgers to attempt the comeback because that's just what he does. But time Montgomery would never let that happen fumbles. The unsealing kickoff. Rams recovered a run out the clock. Aaron Rodgers cannot believe it finish the day with two hundred and eighty six yards and a touchdown Rams win twenty nine twenty seven. They improved to eight. No here is Aaron Rodgers after the loss. Very disappointing. Pleaded lose the game. But it definitely. Took away opportunity for us to go down and win..

"He lived up. He was one of those guys that, hey, maybe future number one overall pick and I still think he sits pretty firmly in the top fifteen easily one on one. That guy is a nightmare because Christian Wilkins is so good next to him that he gets one on one opportunities and it's just ridiculous and we're not going to talk about the edge class today. We're going to save that for its own show, so I don't wanna get into Cleland Farrell and Austin Bryant, but Lawrence and Wilkins on the inside is as dominant as I've seen in college football in a couple years. Rashard Lawrence from LSU is another guy that's going to be a lot of fun to watch this year where Quan Davis from Alabama and Jeffrey Simmons from Mississippi State. And I mean, I know a lot of those guys that just name our SEC guys outside of the Clemson group. But these were. Just the the five names that I've seen so far and all have checked the boxes. I mean, all look like top fifty talents to me, and I just think this is a trenches heavy class. I know it's early on, but the two thousand nineteen draft. You look at the talent available on both sides of the ball in the trenches, and it stands out. I have a hot take on a as ready for it. I am. I think, right. Kwan Davis is better than Dexter Lawrence or Christian Wilkins as a pro prospect. I like the take. I don't know if I agree with it yet, but I don't think it's, I don't think it's crazy at all. Kristie Wilkins is one of those dudes. It's gonna you're, we're gonna look at it and be like shit. This guy produced for like three or four years of college, and he's going to be a second round pick because he's not gonna hit what you're seeing him. And he might end up being a really good pro player, but I don't think he's a first round pick Dexter. Lawrence is. I mean, we've we've seen guys like him before they're just physically dominant vita last year is a great example of it. He did in going pretty high, but man. I think it would actually Lawrence and I think you were kind of getting to this Connor. So hard to Scott those guys based on production. Because like you said, it's not fair. They have four elite defensive lineman, no one can match up with the. I would love to see Clemson play, Wisconsin. Here's the perfect way to put it in perspective. Yesterday I turn on the Syracuse game because it was the game in the box box score that Cleland Farrell and they lost this game by the weights. Syracuse Clinton Farrell had three and a half sacks, and I go, okay, I've seen them quarterback hits, pressures, good bend off the edge. I liked player, and then you watch the sacks and two and a half of them. He's not touched because the other guys are so dominant in demand so much control and it's not clear on Farrell's full. I want him to register those box score stats, but it just goes to show you how much the production gets passed around because that unit is so so damned good on their own..
