"Let's see what kind of test people are gonna have to go through to get those exemptions. Uh, in March, 56% of U. S adults favored offering exemptions to religious objectors. By June, That number had dropped to 52% of 4% drop. That's according to Public Religion Research Institute. And in general, Americans are kind of skeptical of those who say vaccine mandates violate their religious freedom. Only one quarter of US adults little more than 26%. Sided with religious objectors in a recent survey that laid out a hypothetical scenario involving an unvaccinated kid being denied enrollment at a public school. So when you when you say in general, are you for religious objections? More than half of Americans say Yeah, and then when you lay it out Well, are you okay with your kid going to school with a kid who has a religious exemption from getting the vaccine. People are a lot more skeptical. So what faith groups actually oppose vaccination. Almost none is a matter of fact. Um, in a recent opinion piece in The New York Times, Curtis Chang, a former pastor, said quote there is no actual religious basis for exemptions from vaccine mandates in any established stream of Christianity. In fact, even the Christian Science church Which generally discourages its members from seeking medical treatment and advises reliance on prayer, instead has not rejected the Covid 19 vaccine. They say that its members should quote respect shall respect for public health authorities and conscientious obedience to the laws of the land, including those requiring vaccination. You know, there's been more than a dozen Republican governors, including Governor Ducey, who have condemned Biden's vaccine mandate. But ABC News chief legal analyst Dan Abrams believes the best challenges are not going to come from the governors who are making all the noise. It's going to come from employers who are saying for whatever reason, we don't want to implement this, Yeah, last month, Valley legal analyst Barry Marks in told us here on Arizona's morning news. About how exemptions might play out when it comes to this. A lot of religious exemptions are really kind of going away. The Catholic Church has been saying now for the last several weeks that there is not a religious exemption for getting the covid vaccine. So I think a lot of people are just going to like to say I have a medical exemption. I have a religious exemption. You're going to have to really show a real exemption, something that's needed in order for that to be enforceable. You know? Interestingly, though, the U. S Constitution says, freedom of religion, Uh and remember, there are Catholics who take birth control or support abortion rights. Their church's teachings. Don't say that, Uh and there are people of faith who say getting vaccinated would harm their relationship with God. So does it have to be that the religious group that you belong to says that you are allowed an exemption or is it your own conscience because that's what I think, the Constitution says. Um and as far as providing proof. That you deserve to have a religious exemption. This is kind of interesting because the White House press secretary Jen Psaki was just asked about this on Thursday. I'm sure they'll be requirements as to what how somebody would convey what their request for an exemption would be. Uh uh, This is really interesting. Uh, Robin Fretwell Wilson, who is the director of the Institute of Government and Public Affairs for the University of Illinois. Told Desperate news this summer. The court doesn't make someone proved why their religion doesn't support vaccination and you remember can have your own religion. Remember the people that were putting, uh, colanders on their head? You know spaghetti strainers on their head to have their picture taken when they were getting there. There when they were getting their driver's license picture. Uh, they said it was their religious right to put that headdress on, and, um it stood up in court so well. I've heard that one thing to take into consideration for employers would be whether in the past You know, there has been the same argument against other mandates or the other person is known to have these strict religious beliefs. They don't get it. They never get a flu shot. Right? Yeah. Another Maybe other employees or HR. Somebody could validate that. Yes, they have shown a pattern, you know? Yeah. And an interesting local side note on all this. Maricopa County. As of a couple of years ago, Maricopa County had the highest percentage. Of any county in the United States. Highest percentage of religious and personal objections, too. Vaccinations anywhere in the country were number one. So, uh, might help explain how we're what we're fourth from the bottom of states with the vaccination rate for covid. For all vaccines. Actually, it's 5 19. "Now about a dollar who made this excellent phone joins me here on. The mother of all talk shows are good evening. Barry thank you for joining us. Kindly explain who was violent gibson. What did she do and why did she do it. Well thanks for having me on your show. For starters or violent was The daughter of the lord chancellor in ireland and so she came from a very very privileged background. There were well connected in royal circles stay. Her father was time was they thought he might be the next prime minister he was been like people like benjamin disraeli. Etcetera worker had the ryan him so she came from a very very privileged background and from a family. Who were deeply lived in marion square. Which is a georgian squared in dublin. On them they would have an influential family under quite a religious family as well to her. Mother was a christian scientist under father was Church volume protestant assistant. Who knows i raiders in the christian. Science church in belfast. So you know. She definitely privileged like she would been a debutante in the core to queen victoria and so really well connected. So what did she then do. And why while. I a young woman growing up. She was very she. She had an allowance and she spent a lotta time traveling alone with this sort of being a. We allow an allowance to chat and she traveled to italy switzerland. She was into he also fee and she converted to catholicism in her mid twenties and took a deep steep interest in italian affairs and from what we can gather him what we knows. She was keeping a sharp eye on what was happening with the rise of fascism in italy at the time On she was she was interested in italian politics. And i think she saw that this evil. You know this this. Fascism was i going to destroy the country that she loved him. You know she was. She was right and did she. Was she working with anyone else though or was this just alone alone wolf attack lone wolf attack. Well i mean it's interesting. She she spent a lotta time hanging out in entrust every which was the last bastion of opposition to mussolini on. When she was being interrogated she never gave the game away are never said she was involved with. Was anyone else involved in the trainer that she said she did it for low of she did it for god. No she she she wanda merry dance. Thank god. I had an irish song. We kinda think the might have been might have been somebody else involved because like our nesto bruno yati was there. That's on this way. If there was any resistance where if she would find an important she did try to commit suicide about a year before she shocked listening on failed whether we we don't know whether like she was you know she was into religion. Maybe the of sacrifice. Maybe she hesitated in the of shooting. Mussolini dot com was confiscated. So like where did the fifty forty nine year old woman get a second gun in enroll in also we think yes was so the us involved but though she never she never gave the game away are never told that there was anyone else now. Not only was she not thanked by the by the free state for this anti-fascist action She was treated abominably when eventually she returned to ireland boston. She know what she didn't go back to ireland. Actually at all england She went to north hampton at what was done. I mean mostly and he was pretty upset that he'd been shot by a woman of all people and she at one stage she was like she was interrogated after the shooting and quite frankly year and she was put through all sorts of medical examinations psychiatric tests. She went on hunger. Strike started refusing food and it was decided that it would be an absolute disaster at british subjects. Especially one of such pedigree was to die in in an italian jail so basically a deal was put together. Between mussolini the british foreign office and churchill was there on a couple of locations and widths between those before adopts the church family. It was agreed that she would be sent back to northampton it to a mental hospital and lock to lock away for the rest of your life. Basically an why has history ignored this remarkable woman. Do you think well. I think the fact that she was in she was locked. Locked up okay. So you're talking in nineteen twenty seven twenty six hundred ninety five years ago this week. Just gone she. She shot him so there. You go ninety five years ago so she was not couldn't into northampton like she wrote countless To she wrote to princess elizabeth of time she wrote to her friends. She wrote to anyone but she could have any cachet. She wrote to churchill gave him advice on the on what he should do during the war and how to protect against german paratroopers. What known off her letters were ever posted there were. They're still there in the archives watch stumps on them but were never posted and the family leave wanted her silenced and like when she passed away after almost thirty years her her lord ashbourne Of the time the next one in line said he didn't want any one or any attention paid to her death or her funeral so there was nobody entrepreneurial no friends now found the and she just has this small headstone. North hampton cemetery actually had left money for a mass to be held at northampton the catholic church.
