Reference ordered by to and the fighter inmate and even like with christian edwards and people have been lied now man all day. Went up my animates. I kind of feel bad for him. I don't feel bad about noggin. Amount your own. But like i think. I just crushed. His dreams came true. That's the major sport and it's down. It's kinda painful to admit that but had to be said I don't really like hurting. People are really like winning. And i'm really good at doing that. And it is what it is but back on top of thanks man. I don't wanna stop. Here's karen slowdown. Yeah and what's interesting. You talked about your family saying you're you're a celebrity. Now you're starred. And i know you didn't seem all that surprised. Your circle of people were not all that surprised of what you did. On saturday night there are host over social media. Take that line. Take that line and make yourself some money but you have gotten a whole bunch of traction since nocco did you expect all this attention because you're the star of the card. You're the star of the weekend now. Not really. I mean they didn't. They didn't love me when i was eight people up for for ten years. So light loving me. Now it's great but like visit affect me now. i'm jay. I do a lot better by television in front of thousands versus fight here locally. Where everybody i know is is in. The car is in the crowd watching. There's more pressure. I feel like there but that being said i would love to sell out the bridgestone arena. Nashville the experiment memphis. Because i know you get me. And a guy jalil willis just name a few. I don't know if you not cummins is fighting to la titled this weekend you stack you stack all of us all mary. You let me fight. Rampage jackson in memphis. Pretty go sell it out. I've been getting a lot of messages from people all over especially all over the south but all over the world even that have like either had somebody bully 'em or they didn't have a lot of confidence you know you could fill in those lines. I ever. you need bay. They might be depressed whatever but now told them. I'm right here with you i'm one of. I'm one of you. I'm just me you're just you all you can do is be the best you and nobody's going to be mad at you if you fall short every now and again but she should always try your best Boy that that right there in itself like i said mission complete man Even one person delegate at much less a couple of thousand. But i've answered like everyone of the fans that i could and it's it's overwhelming ninety dollars by the do that where you like a lot was made about. You know the odds for the fight or were you noticing them throughout the bill. That christian is over my favorite. Yeah he was. He was six to one the first time. We were supposed to six one the next time. So i'm really likes bras. That shot up the eight and about even some places at six one by side at sixteen hundred. I'll really her amount of sixteen hundred. And if i don't own that i would have probably pete. Pete rose that that'll myself. I have you be like that. And they didn't know. I got brands. They've got some money in the mid south a mafia dude. They made so much money. I posted a lot of a ticket. Stubs l. starting to rain right now. I posted some of the ticket the ticket stubs and one god that owns a jewelry store in new york cashed in thirty thousand dollars man. He's just seen. You knew seminole judge a book by cover like american paid over next thing you know are. Is that crazy for you to see like somebody. Winning thirty grand on on a flight of yours stole you. Enjoy that you Iraq were may millette. You will let you take that one for freeman more cuts. That's amazing so i have. I have so many questions for you ben. And we'll get back to the fight itself in a moment but people clearly want to know more about you. Since saturday people want to know who big tuna is an. And you've been fighting you mentioned you've been being keep up for ten years at least from like the record boards that i've seen like typology stuff. You made your amateur debut in two thousand thirteen tennessee. When when did this all begin for you. And you know back in the day they might with all a tough new. I watch sold fighter christly before scraping all them guys Two thousand eight. I'm playing football. They took me out of football. Because my math grades and white i just had to count backwards from a hundred an increments of seven pass neurological exam california and my math is really good like struggled with it so i pretty much pretty much. While dropped out of college. I did years junior college. And i was fighting man and i had some stuff always comes up your personal life. That's gonna or two and it was either stay in school and finish one more year or ballroom fight. Career man at first sight was in two thousand twelve october. Two thousand twelve another thing about that is like they watch these videos. Like our josh johnson. Talk about somebody. As john. And i'm sure personality too but not check the con- sample video when it was hosted. You'll see you like this. is you know. Two thousand twelve was out to eighteen years ago. Not even close to. That was my very first fight. There's not even close to the same techniques shape any of that stuff. So why would you bank off. Wall the site that out a guy bought me it. He was like to know. Look twice my size email. Dad thought i was going to lose a lot of people who suffer fight to montreal grant so youtube somewhere smashed berlin may not be upbeat them all And it's just a master at what i do and i think a lot of the image really plays into it. You know they look at me. And i saw it went up the mississippi state strength coach. Pops honor when dak prescott number there. I touched on that. I hope he hears about that. "There everybody it is nice to talk to you again on this kind of show as we welcome you to the debut episode of we got next here on the ma fighting podcasting network which will be an interview type podcast. I know a lot of people have been wondering when we got to do another interview. Show mike in his right now. But this show in particular. We're going to be focusing on fighters that are looking to make that step or are currently making that next step in their mixed martial arts careers first of all. I am mike. Thanks for checking out the show and to give sort of the cliff notes explanation of the format on this program for the most part this is going to be a look at the up and coming talent in the sport of mixed martial arts. I have been saying forever when people ask for advice and all that to interview everybody interview the prospects. That's what this show mostly is gonna be about talking to names. You may not know about names you may about but these names are getting that spotlight. Finally making the most of their opportunities fighters you could see in a high level promotion or just competed for a high level promotion. All sorts of different ways different paths that we can take on the show. And i'm happy very excited. Actually to help shed some light on that talent on those fighters who have great stories and are ready to make their mark ready to make some big moves in the sport of mixed martial arts and this week on our first show. We have essentially exact opposite tales. Which will be a lot of fun to get into. So this show is going to drop every wednesday morning here on the emmy fighting podcast network and i'm fired up. Let us not waste any time. Let's get into this thing we get two interviews to get to and like. I said this week a little bit of a different direction than most weeks will be on the show so stay tuned and that's a rapid us up this week. We're going to talk to map. A set thirty five pro fights. He had to fight in the afc ten fights. Bela tor but in the new england region i grew up lived in massachusetts for almost my entire life. Map said is a name that is well known in the region and he's pretty much been the face of csm ama for a long long time. And i bet you're thinking to yourself. How does map a set. How does a guy with thirty five professional fights a guy that spent in the ufc guys offer bell or many times. How does matt fit in with the theme here. To be honest we kind of dozens but in a way he does because he's opening up a spotter to for the next wave of talent in the region because on friday the mangla set became a two division champion. He was already the featherweight champion. He took on ryan delacruz. In the main event of sixty four for the vacant lightweight title and matt went out there and dominated. It was one way traffic. He went on to submit delacruz with this really slick and nasty reverse triangle and in many people's eyes. It's definitely up there but a lot of people's is that was the very best performance a map sets career and a lotta people feel like he's in the best form of his career right now even then he gets on the microphone after the victory becoming a division champion and announced his retirement from the sport. So maps that's going to give his first interview since his sort of surprising announcements and in this conversation he reveals something. That's that's pretty shocking. About his fighting career over the last several years including his. Ufc run that he hadn't told anybody before. Outside of his coaches his wife people in his pretty small circle also stay tuned for that coming up a little later on a great interview with matt beset. I've been talking to matt for years and was very excited to get to chat with him. Post-retirement and you can judge for yourself. But i feel like this is a decision that's gonna stick but first kicking us off this week the very first guest on the show. There were some names. Some breakout performances. That had a lot of people in the anime space talking this past weekend. We see vegas thirty seven. We had delatour to sixty six. We had the belcher. Debut of your romero. Phil davis got the win. Anthony smith at a great performance but nobody had people talking in our great sport more about the ben parish aka big tuna big freaking tuna who kicked off the ballot or to sixty six main card on saturday showtime and as a seven to one underdog making his first ballot. Tour appearance goes out there and pulls off one of the biggest upsets in the company's history knocks out super prospect. Jon jones protege christian edwards and thirty eight seconds. And that's just part of the story because this guy is very unique. He's a character but in the best possible way. And like i said he's big frigging tuna. He is big tuna. And i really enjoyed this conversation. We talked about a lot of different things. We basically hit record and we got after it and we talked for almost forty minutes and it just kind of flies by because it's just so interesting and so fascinating. So the i guess in the history of we got next is big tuna himself ben parish after that. We'll hear from that beset and then we'll meet up once again to close out the show so here he is big tuna. We move ahead to in my opinion. The man who stock rose more than anybody's this past weekend regardless of promotion alatorre. Ufc any of them. Ben perish who pulled off statistically one of the biggest upsets in ballot or history. This past saturday at bill two sixty six knocks out christian edwards took them just thirty eight seconds to do so short night at the office for big tuna. Who is kind enough to join us right now. Ben how're you doing good man. I'm a little tired. I actually really ever slept since the fight We stayed up super late. Walking the streets of san jose and airplanes and all that after that and uh districts excitement to walk. I said but the some guy asks me on saturday night. We're walking around. what's it like. I said brothers just sunday. I mean it's saturday tomorrow. Sunday and we're going to be back on monday so when i get done with this Just got off. Work went back to work today. Dropped daughter off at school. Back to work when i get done with this at right after work or got another interview and i'm driving straight to the gym. "Spotify audible and yes apple podcasts. All right so that is the main events arrest of the main car for ballots are neiman gracie as back taking mark lemon jer. That is the co main event alejandro. Lara's back taking on dna bennett. Who missed wade today. saw rogers pounds georgie carquinez. Take on rogers. That's a fun fight. And then the main card open up. With ben paris taking on john jones protege christian edwards who has a lot of potential at five dollars student is an explosive explosive individuals. So a lot of a lot of debut fighters a lot of fighters wanna know owen to the prelims. Some fresh meat so to speak. And then we Experience gets a little bit bitter bigger and bigger and better on the way up the main card so any other bella tour fight standouts you. They just like oh forget the ufc. I'm watching that fight. If i'd go that far we have a gracie popping up we have holland holland gracie will be on the prelims. I think is you his debut. Not miss. I'm pretty sure he's he's not as pro debut abilities beltway. Dsm yeah. He hasn't fought in fourteen years. Yeah well so young. He's only thirty four okay so interesting so apparently tried to have made things sometime ago and guess it didn't work out you can always you can always go home again as it were but yeah i mean. I'm very excited. Of course one hundred and deanna benefits ashamed. That bennett did this weight. And by such a such a pretty wide amount But putting that aside for now really nice competitive fight I think law. I still see lara. Someone who can be like. I know she's had her shot at the flyweight title. She's i think she's still developing. I think this could be a future. Champion is someone who like. She's had her shots. She's been pushed pretty hard by belts. Were already but i think he sticks with it. She has the kind of like skill set and confidential to make it and certainly the charisma that bells who wants a champion someone that they would want to push to the top so Really looking forward to that by indiana. Ben it's always fun to watch so again. It's a shame she missed weight. But that's that's definitely the the other standout fight on the main card sarah. What's what's your eye on spelter card. I mean again i. I actually don't know a lot of these names especially unlike the lower the card. But i really enjoy watching. Lara fight I'm always of course drawn towards watching females fight. I'm invested in it even if it's not my weight class. I thoroughly enjoy laura. I think that she's pretty smooth to watch. You can see that she's improving. She's growing and she's so changing as a fighter bennett while she's fun to watch. I mean she's missed weight quite a few times for different fights and i feel like i'm always know struggling making weight Not really finding class. That seems appropriate for her. She's not that big but now that she can you know she's missing for twenty five. I'm surprised by that so I don't really know what goes on in her campaign behind the scenes But i do think that that this fight potentially could be a tough fight for her casey. You got a wildcard delatour. Fight the canadians Laura lar lar lar. She's a joy to watch and she just has christmas. She's improving She's had some losses but she's she's also very good fighters he doesn't know so i just i kind of i the and i as much as i want to fight. She's had some kind of stinker fights very nice person great personality. But it doesn't really kinda come off intellectual fights so I'm hoping this is going to be an exciting fight The davos these ladies get to show off their whole skill set but i think this is Lars time they really shine and Yeah i like. I like lar. She's She's she's awesome car. Connie and roger should be fun. Rogers one of the more interesting stories and mma after some throw a little spotlight mark. Lemon jer interesting. I forgot about not smoking. Ultra seems to like them new to a new deal. He beat the breaks out of damarcus johnson and his last fight or demarcus jackson But the two prior fights that he had were to champion. Yaroslav amazon and fought julia willis who are two very tough out. it's This stage in their careers especially amazon. Who's not the champion Given them neiman gracie so clearly ballatore wants to do something with him. But it's up to him to to get over that hump and you beat new neiman gracie's got a good chance to do that. One hundred seventy pounds. That should be an interesting fight because lemons very good very good wrestler is good on the ground but neiman gracie. That's his world so can limit your sit. There and use a striking to his advantage can gracie do what he needs to do. That is a that is an interesting fight as well so but to be clear for the return home good main event. It's not the best offering belts are gonna put together here. It just isn't no. This is This this i was kinda surprised. When i found out this in san jose. I i figure if you're going back to san jose is going to be a crowd they're going to. I don't know you but some names on there But it's an it's an okay card. I think top to bottom. You've sees clearly a better card. But this is definitely fights to watch on speller card for sure and i think this bill to a card because like we said there's sort of a lot of less experienced fighters like an old delatour card where like the prelims are very regional. And i think you're gonna it means you're going to see some finishes. I think you'll see a lot of finishes. i know. People sort of equate that with what makes setting card cardis finishes which i don't always agree with but when you have one in one guys facing owen one guys and owen. Oh facing ono. You're usually going to see some sort of wacky nece and that that might be good for the live crowd. The live crowd will certainly be happy. I'm not how how the interest will be from people like tuning in you know online or e live happy. It'd be some you finish than the car v. gitane enough. So i'm looking at this whole thing with rose colored glasses as you should ak rather prince positively after all we do ak you know well you know So again for for those. Who are watching this after the facts. Which all of you now. Who tried to watch us the stream earlier apologies for the technical difficulties casey. The man the myth the legend got it. All put up and taking care of on the podcast number two as well Anything else wanted to discuss casey. You wanna wanna lead us in. Get ready to lead us out of here. Why is that canadian. Not farting in the ultimate fighting championship. She is a premier hundred and thirty five pound fighter. The uc is desperate for one hundred and thirty five pound contenders. She has not bought a manu. This she has not fought arena donna. There's all the names of the top of the list in the in the ufc that she has not fought. They need strong quality opponents. Like sarah i don't get it. Maybe they're scared. they're scared. maybe. Maybe i don't know what's going on. I don't know what's going on. Let's arena donald. She just lost her opponent right. She's gdr gr had pulled up energy and energy injury energy energy injury. Hula serious pull out any energy. And i mean come on when rhonda rousey within the bantamweight division like it was like man. I was all about it as soon as she left as like. Yeah i get. I get him in. The news is on a great role. She's go yada yada yada but the ufc hasn't built up that built up that way class. And you have a woman right here. Who will be rate opponent for any of those women at the top actually has been one of like incest. You all they keep the top names. Keep fighting each other alec okay. What matchup hasn't like number two in the top sides versus bring in those other talents and lose names haven't really changed the fact that mijas back i.

"You go buy belts workers sixty six leading. I know is that peak. Alati newman greasy alejandra. They're fighting. They're all either ranked or just outside the rankings. And then your main event is. Y'all romero infield davis the rest high about twenty fighters at couldn't tell you who they are. Even if he told me. I got to bag with a million dollars. Just name wanted be like oh dom smith. I would hope that john smith or reynolds was on the card or muslim meiomi medoff. I would hope that maybe common names just happens to land. I respect you. Even take a shot with john smith. A lot of people were just take their fate. Why not take a shot. John smith never. Now let's see like i close. Got here bobby ceremonial. The third is fighting erin. hunter adrian. Horror is fighting. Socrates hernandez abraham v. Sal may albert zola's travis davis is fighting khalid murtaza leader christian edwards is fighting ben parish. Grant neil who i know is jeff brother. He's fighting alex. Police saul rogers. You go former top versus george carlin canyon. Oh that's right car. Canyon subbing in for Galati allender lara versus the anna bennett. I gotta watch that. For rankings neiman gracie has mark lemesurier in. Y'all romero still davis. So when i read that it's enough for me to just kind of think a few things and then say see on the eighteenth Nosy i could give you a billion names before i get the socrates hernandez I know is going to be on showtime. And i'll look at the time if it's onto infant starts at seven start tuning in around seven thirty while maybe i will watch. It's it's one of three. Tv's and that's it. that's all i can give you. You gotta give me a better car than that for me. All really lock in you. Know and get the tweets going and get excited in as all that. I'm i'm only saying this because beltre's next i'm not picking on them. Pia bells done that to me in the past. Last weekend's you'll see did that to me as well and now sprinkle in your invictus won championships in. That's it do you remember. When invicta had juliet's king mall manalo and they had unicef versus teasha torres pay. I believe was fighting on their cards and In a lot of the top female fighters were fighting invicta and it was all the rage stitch duran was there. It was popping now. It sucks is. The uc created the women's division and basically brought over all those years. And so invicta kind of had to rebuild. But during that time. I slipped out in. It's hard for me to get back in there unless they build new stars but they don't have time to build new sources not as many female athletes in may when there are bell tornado. See gobble Also kinda sucks man. Kinda sucks now. That said if i'm sitting at home and you go. I'm sitting at home. I'll be back in ten minutes. I'll be in ten minutes. We're going on victim. It's down the street. I got some tickets i mean. I'm really down watching it in person. And that's a little bit different but as a tv viewer on the different agree. All right. i folks we're gonna bounce on out of here. That is our thursday show delivered to you. There's wednesday night. I hope you enjoyed it. We talked to mike rosenthal from boxing junkie earlier and then we tried to jump in and around some of these topics in the sport of mixed martial arts Really not too much out there. In terms of like new fight bookings or anything like that The next big card in terms of. Us's pave you coming up with algebra alexander Versus brian ortega balancing Lauren murphy nick diaz verses robbie lawler and there is a uc coming up. It's a finite next week but this week there all off so enjoy that weekend away from combat sports with the exception of trailer on nine eleven. This saturday uganda holyfield versus be tour. Belfort de la hoya put something out. He's out of the hospital good for him. Obviously he won't be fighting.

"That situation for him. It's kind of tough on the fly in a five round fight. I get it. I think he probably did make some fans though in a losing effort where going in. I don't know that timothy johnson was the most popular guy but I think he made a lot of fans in the way. He fought The pride that he took him to the ring. So i think it's gonna end up being a good yeah. I think it's going to be a little good thing for him. And hopefully you can just shore those things up bounce back. I don't see why he can't be back in the mix fairly quickly. He was bleeding. The zagan amman. At the very end. Which is a very tim johnson. Line but i guess the best got it got the best of them And i think towards the end that that's the kitchen sink. Maybe lulling to come in and you can land a big right who knows Putting the word you know. He doesn't have a statuesque physique. Granting like that but the guy was running five miles quite a few times a day. You know on some good in this desert. He he really wanted to be shave. He fought till the end at a nice run. Their bell tour But you know it's not a deep staple so he could get a shot to come back. What would have been interesting. Was if extreme Tour could boasted a belt or champ and uc heavyweight champ. The game a little resort there coursing goners Torn alex uc heavyweight champ. So that's what. I was referencing. Their lucar moosh why that don't doubt her man. She's been doing it for a long time. She was successful as a bantamweight successful as a Why wait now and this is straightforward. You'll see 'em belts now. Third win at belcore in a row and she defeated Watanabe midwicket reversing Kinda gave her a verse loss announced during the road for liz guard moves. So maybe that'll get her a shot it juliana velasquez but she's got a lot of good wins along the way These only lost to the best. Like title fights against rows in zenko and by the way. She's one and one against your shinko. Don't forget resist. Fight down in two thousand six or two thousand eight when she beats shinko oma when they're both younger Like i say congrats to her she. She got the job done. I mean that was beautiful i standing. Tko basically was thinking about her and what she's been able to accomplish in her career if you were to go in her basement or wherever she has all memorabilia or just a storyline of her career. She'd have some pretty big things to boast about places. She's fought Fighters that she's gone up against the spotlight that she's been in different situations. She definitely needs to be very proud of her career. And you can't count out. That's the one thing that i think that you could say over and over and over about her career is you just can't counter out in fights so this could be something pretty special could be real special run but she's a person that really deserves it because she's one of those girls kinda like michel tate. That was stuck in the kind of in the middle of when made for started booming. A little bit more. They had already put in some time and he felt like maybe they weren't gonna get rewarded because things are moving so quickly so she's kind of one of those girls. That's in the middle. I would love to see her capture title and just look overall at her career and she should be very very happy. Yeah she's sixteen seven overall and forgot about the title shot. She had drag force. When austin marley's conan that's the promise is come up stored in all title win. This one should be very proud of having that major title. The belts or flyweight title. Over an undefeated fighter juliana velasquez tissue. It to that but that is three in a row. She man earned it but she's being shaneco can young beating jan Just draws lauren murphy. Kaylynn keagan jennifer. maya lucy. Put a lotta deanna bennett. Vanessa porto loss on watson hobbies. I mean that's decent. Do that's a really really olive career. This coming up short as being the bridesmaid is the only problem. And even the maid of honor and a couple of you know but Dally from toronto presented an interesting fat to about liz He was the first woman ever that. Enter the octagon. Because if you recall the first women's ever was ronda rousey vs liz. Roose analyst moosh entered. I 'cause ronda rousey was given. The title is a lighter in you name. The first one was not as a enter the octa. Oh becky lee y at think so. Yeah okay she corner on frying than sovereign right unless unless anderson. What's lady the announcer unless she went in there. I don't actually did ok. Okay a here's another one here. Here's another bit of trivia. The first woman ever get bit in the octagon was too. Yeah remember when ron left print on it taken aback so anyway joking obviously And the other fights took place about tore was the interim heavyweight title Got her win as well as well. Toward sixty one by the way more fans are being seen now. So that's always a good thing. Sydney out a lot of miles jury. Daniel kiani digs christian edwards defeated simone bin yang John is food defeated. John teixeira so You know all the results there on mma junkie. If you go to front page you got some tabs at the very up and one of those. You'll see results in. It'd be click. You can see not only everything that took place at built or sixty one but same goes for week to anyone six annual fight night one man. Let's see i night one ninety two place on saturday. Surreal gone alexander volkov in his decision to forty five forty nine we six. I thought it was gonna be more like maybe a forty nine forty six to forty eight forty sevens but and but cesaro gone goes. He was just more active and that made me happy because he's really a nice fills. It has new kind of reminds me of A little bit of liotta machida where. He's very technical. He knows when the throw knows when to get out of the way But there are some times with little machida where you get one version of home and then you get another. And i think that's what we kinda get with gone He he's a heavyweight. So you got to imagine everybody. Ms division hits hard. There's a lot of damage that can be done to a heavyweight so he's got like a good style to survive in the heavyweight division. The problem i think right now is the guys that he's faced if you look at the guys that are at the top. Those guys are just major pressure fighters. And i think that's going to be difficult to have that type of style again. Some of the elite in that division. It's going to become very difficult to to be able to pull that off so great for him Awesome performance for him. I just don't know if he'll be able to keep doing that as he gets. Closer and closer to that that he lied three up there. Definitely all right we'll put you'll see finite one ninety. Talk aside for just a sec. The card that's coming up to sixty four in. That's going to be an expert. Smacks gribben bites. Carlos conduit and it looks like they're placed may be the main event of the premiums. So that means these guys are gonna put on a show. Uc recognizes them and they want to help style that last paper you for the starts..

"You know, the Bradley foundation doesn't lay out its Wisconsin network in our plan to lockdown, Wisconsin and fifty other states. We takes a lot of digging to find that kind of thing. And that's another thing that we've been super involved in at the center for media and democracy that Bradley foundation network of institutions, and there's a lot of them here in the state of Wisconsin. Is going to be part of the infrastructure that Tony Evers is going to be up against in two thousand nineteen and they are going to be, you know, ready and waiting to pounce with lawsuits and open records and all sorts of other schemes to try and undermine the Iverson ministration. Yeah. So really we need to and again, I know I'm straying from the expertise that you guys have. But. I think we do need to talk about the role of the media. I think we he'll do a great job. But. We are not a we'll note a huge operation, right? We don't have millions of people listening to us the way they do too. To Christian Edwards unto right wing networks. Will they don't get any information that would help them really volt full full on self interests. What do we do? Very good question. So the there's a new documentary film out, and it's called dark money, the film, and it's an awesome. It's an awesome film for two reasons. One is it talks about dark money in the problems with dark money, but it's the story of an intrepid little Missoula Montana newspaper guy stumbled across this dark money, and in sort of like, okay? So what does this mean? And he follows it all the way to these big institutions in Washington and effort to undermine unions. And it's it's an awesome. Little documentary. That's been shortlisted for the Oscars. I'm happy to say, but I was thinking of that movie, recently and war is very similar to this fellow at this one person Montana who. Took the time to unravel some of these connections and talk about some of the bigger institutions that aren't here in Wisconsin. But they're out in Washington DC, pulling the strings and you've done that consistently with every Major Bill or or new ideological agenda item. That's come up over the last eight years, or it has been invaluable community resource during this whole time, and has also just shed some funny and good light an interesting little stories because you're often up at the capital. So I think that these kinds of like I was just telling you about bosses and Fitzgerald's reaction to being asked questions by reporters. You know, you guys were often up. They're telling us these little tidbits that make the make the story here real. And and and it's super important that people support their community radio like w RT, but it's also important that we support the big reforms that are needed. To rebuild media in America. And frankly, from my perspective, the media that has been most successful, and vibrant or the media model. That's been most successful vibrant is in communities like the UK is in Europe where there are very large public subsidies for a very diverse array of media, right? So even though it's government funded. It doesn't actually mean it's government controlled and in their models in which you could like for instance, you could have one hundred dollar tax credit. I could give it to see him D. And you could give it to some of the Fox News. You know, you the the point is to let a variety of media, I'm flourish and to actually support media because it's the only thing that's going to call out these deep money connections and the real agenda behind some of these political faces we're seeing. Yeah. I I guess I wanna do it quick shoutout to my country of origin. Israeli don't usually shout out there. But. I started as a filmmaker and in Israel is that organization that has government money. And they decide who to give it to and there no government in the intervention at all. And so even though Israel is becoming more and more right wing, and and more and more really. Dangerous in in many ways. They'll still you see films coming out of the L totally left. Easterly progressive totally. Show in the situation as it is. Because the money and the people who dispersed. Filmmakers film, critics, you know, people who know those stuff, right? It could be done in the right way. It can be done in the right way. Anyway, David you wrote about billionaires seek to expand influence over law enforcement and chords in two thousand eighteen tell us about that. Well, it's related to. What the up to right in the last election cycle. So. You know, they they supported a number of attorney general and number of judicial candidates and. So I was basically in the article trying to to demonstrate that the cooks have a serious interests. You know with the money that they've put down in influencing the courts influencing the judicial system. So it's it's very scary. For me to think that. American law enforcement, which is it is is is really dangerous in many cases in many places to the American citizens. Also, influenced by the cokes. On top of the fact that the train to shoot to kill and not to try and. Make things better between people but just to kill what do you think about that? You know, the the addition of coke money to that. I haven't been able to track money directly to sheriffs or law enforcement. So to say, right. But I do think it's scary that you know, if you were to bring a case up, for example, in Corpus Christi, Texas or somewhere down in Texas, where there are a lot of coke, you know, refineries, and you want to you know, or you expect fair judgement. Based on you know, some suffering that you've had to endure due to the pollution of the environment. And you know, the majority of the justices hearing your case or funded by the coke brothers right on those plants, right? You know? So you know, one one thing we can push for a citizens are stronger recusals loss. Right. So explain well. So if if judges have a conflict of interest say they got money from one of the parties that they're, you know, hearing a case for that. They would recuse themselves there. They would sit out that case because they received money, right? Go ahead. No. I mean, you know, because we've had in Mary can probably speak to this more than me. The what the John Doe, for example? Right. And and the campaign finance fiasco Walker was involved in many of those judges receive the same funding, right? From these groups that were parties have interests. But do we know at at real time who is supported by coke money? And we can we can to some extent. And there's little signals that David follows in detail. So for instance, coke industries will get get a check cata check. And if they do it legally inappropriately it's recorded, and you can find it. But there are a lot of the trick is that we know of the twenty different coke entities that could be cutting checks, and the many different ways that they can fund all that money. And so so our I think our list of coq candidates is the most up to date and comprehensive in the country because we follow all the the different organizations, not just one or two. But the other way they final money is through these these. Association. So the Republican attorney general's association is becoming more and more and more ideologically extreme and the coke money to them is increasing increasing and a vicious cycle, a vicious cycle and see MD sued the last head of the are AGA with called Rog Republic attorney General Association who is Scott Pruitt shortly before he became EPA administrator. And we're suing the new guy because we're they're not responding to our open records requests about. Their activities that should be public record. These are attorney general's US attorney general's they worked for the states, they work for the people of those states, and they should be respecting open records requests. So we often when when our requests aren't being when they're not giving us the docks we want when they're not giving us in this case with Scott Pruitt, his correspondence with polluters, we've brought public interest lawsuits against them. And I'm sorry. We had to do that this year with chamo-. So in September, we were very curious about the attorney general's lawsuit against the Affordable Care Act and Texas and be so before it was a huge issue in the campaign. We sued them because David had been writing to him asking for his correspondence about this lawsuit. So we're we're not asking attorney client privileged information. This person is involved in a lawsuit out of the state of Wisconsin. And we wanted to know who they were talking to what they're up to. And they said, well, we have sixteen hundred responsive documents. But we're just not going to give them to you. So we're hoping to burdensome to hand the burns. David David like, I can deal with sixteen hundred give me six hundred. And so that issue later became a major issue in the campaign, and it became an issue going forward because the lame duck sessions, preventing the governor from drawing us out of that lawsuit. We're still waiting on those records. Yeah. Mr. Schimmel or judge Schimmel now, I guess judge homeland let let's talk about judge Schimmel. Is that legal? What Walker did is going to be some pushback? No, it's not legal. It's not legal to say, oh, we have six hundred documents. But we're not going to give them to you period. Speaking of being appointed to. That's all right. Yeah. No. I was asking about was Walker acting legally when he appointed a judge when they will I believe thirteen candidates, and she more was not one of them Shimo recommended some of the other candidates actually submitted recommendations, so good questioned till the lawyers out there. And if you have the answer to that one, but I expect we have not seen the last of Mr. Schimmel, he has a big ego. He as we know from his coins. And so I would not be surprised if he runs for the supreme court at some point in time or takes other has other political aspirations. Yeah. Well, I wanna talk about the EPA in about schools before will down. We have about eight minutes left. Let's start with the EPA and Trump and the and the Walker. What can you tell us about the? I mean, we already know coke the coke zero involved. But what else can you tell us about really mean crimes against the planet and therefore grams against the those who live on the planet human, otherwise, what more can you tell us. Well, I can tell you that the cokes are very happy. So at the last Alec meeting in Washington DC what they call the states and nations summit. They passed a number of resolutions. Praising President Trump and his environmental policy achievements, including you know, getting out of the Paris climate agreement overturning Obama's clean power plan number of others. Right. But yeah, I mean, Trump's spin disastrous, right? And you know, he chose the most effective man to lead the starting out in Scott Pruitt, right this this man is the history right of doing what's best for fossil fuel companies, and what's worse for the environment. And he was really destructive in the short time that he was in office. Right. And you know, he's been replaced by lobbyists. Who will no doubt continue? Right. I think the latest says that they're going to got the clean water rules, clean water regulations. Little things really. And with Walker, right? I think you know, some of this stuff to be seen. But you know, from from what I know. Right. He's he he really decimated the DNR, and you know, he pushed through this whole Foxconn fiasco, which will have you know, who knows what kind of impact, but it's likely to be negative, right? And have and be very difficult to reverse. Yeah. And yeah, we'll stuck with it. I do hope Iverson can do something about it. But. Another big agenda item for Alec is rollback of the Fosse of the fuel economy standards. So there's very few groups out there, certainly not the car manufacturers really trying to rollback fuel economy standards for cars, but big oil companies like marathon, which is an Alec member have been pushing for the rollback of these fossil fuel these what they called cafe standards, and that has become a Trump agenda item. So it it sometimes feels like that these different industries are fighting for control of congress. But the cokes real inside track on this end. And often this Alexander we're seeing it the state's overlaps in the federal agenda with the federal gender. I should say it's fairly interesting because you know, all these achievements at the cokes are no doubt celebrating, but they come out in the last week and and part of their platform over the next year. They said they're not going to support Trump and the twenty twenty election. You know? So it's very very interesting how they sort of in some ways distance themselves, but in other ways embrace, you know, Trump, and and what he's done. They certainly didn't turn down the tax credit..
