"Apple TV notifying you that someone is at the door identifying the person at the door potentially if they're in your photos, showing you an image and then allowing you to bring it up full screen interrupting what you're watching on your TV I love this I think this is so cool. Yeah. There's that I am excited about the possibilities of imagine if I can say, whereas Richard, I can totally cheated hide and go seek with my kids. I as a primitive for me to be able to deal with true recognition not phone. Yeah. This is a huge one. The other thing that they're doing with the doorbell scenario is if you have a home pod, then Syria's going to announce on the homebody who is at the door I'm not sure I'm so excited about that one. I'm not a voice first house I. Don't know when the ladies all start to talk to me in the background did start to get a little invasive interesting. There's an edit that our listeners won't here where we had to pause because my phone was ringing and why did we have to plies because not only was the phone ringing but the lady in the box next. To my phone was telling me through all of my devices who is calling. So I'm big into the home notifications I. Think this is a cool thing, and if I had a homebody which I don't. But if I had one, I think this would be a cool way of using it. Well, we talked about Apple TV briefly so I just wanted to mention one more thing. You're also going to be able to just call up any of your home kit cameras on Apple. TV. Either Siri or through the Control Center to get into this whole view that will show you the cameras that you have and allow you to look at them individually I think that's incredibly useful. That's everything that happened on apple's side Google also had an event it was let's Just say a less polished Google's event consisted of basically to remote presentations. One of them was the head of the smart. Home. Division, I forget what her name is. Michelle something literally giving a power point presentation remotely over camera. I just don't understand a company this big doing this so poorly, but they had some announcements I will admit I knew that Google was having an event. Even today. I went to Google and I said, hey, tell me about the Google Smart Home Summit and the first ten results was people talking about the fact that Google was going to have an event but it seems that it slipped by and I guess if the first presentation was slide whipping the attendees then I guess that's a good reason. Let's run through some of the things that they did announce though. So one of the things that's interesting just like we are getting that adaptive lighting from Apple Google is going to be introducing gentle sleep and wake settings for lighting I think this is pretty cool. This is similar to stuff that you can do with you today and other lighting systems, but this would allow any vendors lights to work presumably either through color changing or even just through dimming so that you can create these sleep and wake routines I think this is pretty cool. Not really something that apple offers as an equivalent yet anyway I don't know if this sort of thing will be included in their adaptive lighting or. Not, the cool thing about this is that it does not require any support from the vendor. It's just going to work I love this idea as we talked about before I'm a huge fan of circadian rhythm lighting ride things that help us from a health standpoint. The fact that you're going to be able to have local control that's part of the goodwill t for their smart home and it's going to work with any light you have. If they get this right, this could be a huge win for Google and ultimately really this is not that hard of a script to right if you think about it change color between these two points on the Kelvin's and do it between these two timeframes. This is really smart. It's a bit of differentiator for them I think I'm looking forward to seeing how they're doing this. I've been really happy with the automation stuff. The Google home has as a way of automating your home. The problem is it still so limited even still with these announcements, they talked about their readiness to support all of the old works with net stuff, and they're still not there yet. We still don't have routines based on the status of different devices or anything like that. They are adding home and away routines. This is really smart if anything can. Help Monitor your homeless or awareness. It is the nest devices, right so the nest devices and their home away status will actually be available as a trigger for routines. That's a great thing I love that they're doing that. I think that's something that will help a lot of people as they think about ways of writing routines to kind of showed things down if everybody leaves or when people are home to make sure that there's proper lighting the alarm is disabled and stuff like that. I'm not happy at all with Google automations there limited in my mind they're non existent birthright. If you cannot trigger based on emotion sensor then you have no business talking about. Or Autumn. I want my smart house to be adaptive I want it to use the context I wanted to sense whatever sensors I throw at it. I wanted to use that as information to make intelligent decisions based on what's going on the house, and then I want my house to react right you can do that and other platforms you could do that. Even Amazon's platform. Yes. Even on their. Cloud based stuff you can support visit be based motion sensors, contact sensors, Q..

"Far the best circadian rhythm at least in my opinion in the industry right now it's beautiful. You can do it on all the different lights you can tune when it comes. On in the latest version of the APP, you can now do it based on schedules on different rooms different weekends. It's awesome. I wanted that through the rest of my entire ecosystem I wanted my hue lights to do that as well. Yeah and I wanted them in one spot. That's what I wanted. If I have to buy all new lights to get this feature I, know well that. Would be insane I'm hoping it's not going to be that restrictive to see how this actually is implemented because as far as I know there isn't any hardware available to test this feature yet let's move on. Let's talk about the whole map in general have you had a chance to play with the updated home app yet? No, I've recreated my entire home kit home already wants this year. They've made some improvements to the experience to make it a lot easier. It's particularly nice on the IPAD, which is where I installed it but on the version that would run on more compact screens as well. They both have this new bar of status icons to the top of each room, as well as on your home screen. Previously, there was like this rambling paragraph of information about the status of things at the top of the home screen, and that's the only place where that status information was presented now not only is that graphical and a whole lot. More understandable indigestible that same set of status icons appears in each room. There's an icon that identifies all of the lights in the room so that you can turn them on and off altogether very quickly also identifies the different sensors. In fact, sensors entirely have moved from the device tiles section into that status thing which I know has some people concerned. I haven't decided if I like it or don't like it. I'm really happy about that one the amount of temperature sensors that you can end up with in a single room is like just make them go away. Hopefully, we can select which one's show up kind of like the favorites button you can select which one's are your favorites. Maybe we can on this is this the main sensor of this particular room like I think apple needs to do some work if I ask for what's the temperature and room and I've got seven sensors there's no rhyme or reason or just pick one of them is that a good sensor is that one that's off by twenty percent all the time who knows what they are showing from what I can tell in rooms that have multiple centers is temperature range showing the temperatures between this and this what's really Interesting about this implementation is that they have organized this by the information point as opposed to the device. So you could have a huge sensor in a room and an echo be censor in the room and both of them are capable of detecting motion. They will appear as one single icon in the status of that room indicating whether or not. There is motion even though that motion could be detected by two different manufacturers devices. That's kind of cool. The ironic thing for me is that all of these groups at the top they've actually been there for I don't know since I always ten at least they were just hidden groups back. In the database. So all of that stuff is just now getting exposed at least we're getting a little love for the home APP yeah I don't know how far they're gonNA take it and like I, love the fact that apple has provided space for third party developers to innovate and provide us bigger and better experiences. But I also dread the question of people going Oh you can't do X. in home kit because you can't do x. in the Apple Home App and then you go go home for or heave or whatever. Then you say go to eve and then go to devices and then go to this other thing because. You can't do everything you WanNa do in any one of them which makes me crazy. But whatever. All right, let's talk about Hammer's next week as cameras I think is where they're starting to pull things together like we were hinting at at the start of the show, they talked about two new features for cameras. The first one is motion zones, and if you ever ring camera or have to assume most of the other brands support this type of thing as well I don't really have anything but ring and blink cameras, but this allows you to define where in frame you care if motion happens this is really helpful for example if. You live in Chicago and you have trees in your yard and you don't want the camera triggered. A tree moves in frame because a lot of these cameras base this motion changes in the image that season frame. So now you can restrict it to specific. That will ensure that you're only notified and stuff only gets triggered. If motion occurs in that area in frame, there's a nice feature and by doing this at home kit, this is consistently applied and manage the same way across all of your different cameras. This one is near and dear to my heart logistics circle to had this feature but was a paid feature before they did the home kit secure video Beta, you had to pay your whatever ten dollars a month or whatever happened to be. So I had my camera in home kit and then whenever a leaf on the Tree A. Squirrel jumps whenever that happened to be on getting notifications it got so bad I, just turn the notifications off if I'm using the camera as a security camera quote unquote visit really a good thing that I'm forced turn the notifications off no right I purpose and it's funny I hadn't even thought of that use case how for customers who switched from third party video hosting to Apple's kit secure video that they didn't offer this sort of capability so the solves that problem that's great. All right. So let me ask this what if apple gave you recognition capability on your cameras that worked with Home Kit, which they didn't outs. So you know that's that's a great segue. One example they used I think in the keynote was when your delivery guy comes up. Yeah. But the facial wreck had to be in your photos. So do you have a picture of your delivery guy in your photos? Good point we'll see how that plays out. I wasn't excited about the security implications of facial recognition. I am super excited about the presence detection implications one of the things that they talked about, and here's where it all comes together if you have an apple TV and you're sitting at home and. You're just sitting with your family enjoying the latest episode of some Apple TV plus show and someone rings your doorbell. Now, you'll get an alert on your.

"Our next update is from wink again, getting in touch with users to let them know that again, they have changed how this whole subscription thing is going to work on July twenty seven if you don't. Pay that five dollars a month. You won't be able to do anything that requires any part of their cloud services that means like grouping devices, creating automations through robots, creating shortcuts, adding new devices or changing even device names because all of that communicates to their cloud to keep the cloud information that they store in your account in sync. If you don't have the cloud service, you can't do any of that stuff, but you can at least still get into your application and control the things that are currently connected and. I am sure they had many many many people screaming at them particularly if they had or Z. Wave devices saying look if I have to switch to another hub I, least need to be able to get my devices off of here and deep provision them correctly through your system don't lock me out and prevent me from doing that. So you will be able to do that and you will be able to continue to control the connected devices but does it in one word or how do I feel about this? The word this is the latest round in the wink Hokey pokey and I've stopped paying attention. I'm not affected by it. I'm not a wink user so it's just I feel bad for them. When you first started talking about it I'm thinking to myself you know what I'm actually okay with wink saying you know what? You'RE NOT GONNA get any new stuff if that's what they were saying we're going to cap you where you are right now if you're a customer. And this is where they lost. Me Wasn't just we're going to cap you wherever you're at right now we're going to lock you down into your own local system allow you out and that's it. I get it. This is a company struggling financially obviously, right there's no other explanation for this razor they are trying to figure out how they can start creating revenue stream. They're trying to figure out how to keep the business going I admire them, I admire the tenacity. Oh my Lord. If. Customers don't have enough reason to leave already with the other choices that giving them all they need right it's good that they're giving it a little bit and trying to clarify things finally, they should have done this earlier. I would argue if they're trying to figure out how to get revenue stream going maybe they should have thought about that six months ago before just shutting. The doors and not paying their employees maybe just maybe the way that they're handling this is going to indicate what you can expect as a customer going forward even if you're paying so I am not inclined to suggest to anybody even if they are deeply invested in wink that they stick with wink I, think they should be looking around that they should be looking at smart. I think that they should be looking at hub tat particularly if they're more of a hobbyist and they really want that ability to get in there and play with things this is not a long term solution that I believe will remain viable I. Don't see how this company survives. Yeah. This is another reason why local control is so important why it's going to remain. So important apple home kits always had that you have local control. Internet access and we're starting to see that from Google as well. So we've seen it with be hobbs with Amazon, that was another one that was a possibility, and if you really want that local control again, that's another reason to look into habitat as a potential solution. Habitat is way more unpolished in terms of the user experience that you can expect on your. Devices but it is very, very powerful. We'll talk more about local control when we talk about what happened on Google's event in just a little bit. That's it for news solicits jump into the news from WWe DC actually. GonNa. Start with something I didn't even have on this list before because I completely forgot about while we're talking about lighting and tuna bowl lighting. Apple introduced the concept of adaptive lighting in fourteen for home kit, and what that means is that throughout the day like we've been talking to circadian rhythm lighting the White Color of your light can change to be appropriate for the time of day and potentially for use case of that light. Now, I, don't know how you thought this was going to be implemented. Chris, but I always hoping that just because I already have white tuna bowl lights around my home. I'd be able to see for example, a few floods in my kitchen ceiling and there'd be a switch there'd be able to flip that said use adaptive lighting in these guys but apparently, the manufacturers are going to have to do something plus support this sad panda. I'm so yeah. I don't get that. I think that's a mess on apple's part if they do that I was. So hoping if you have anything that is already able to tune -able whites just throw that in your adaptive lighting and based over the course of a day, it should go the other thing which I haven't seen anywhere at all yet is does that mean that if I turn it on In the morning it fades in, does it fade out at night and I haven't seen fading interfacing out referred to anywhere I swear by Life X. for this that's why I've gone with life because they have by far the best circadian rhythm at least in my opinion in the industry right now it's beautiful. You can do it on all the different lights you can tune when it comes. On in the latest.

"Smart thing says announced that they are kind of getting out of the hardware business that's not surprising. They're going to very likely stop making these accessories that have been smart home branded some. They don't even make themselves be that hub and let other manufacturers bring the products. They're even thinking that a little bit with their hub, the hub itself could be embedded in other products and they've already worked with some manufacturers to make that possible. Jimmy lays out some concerns about that that you'd need to make sure that they're kept up to date and that everything is current and along those lines one of the other things that we do expect is that Samsung is going to retire their old version one hub. So you and I with version, two hubs should be fine. But that version one hub is likely going to go away as may other largely ignored platforms. That they have available like the thumb drive that you can stick into an Invidia Shield and ADT partnership that they had both of which are like a dozen firmware versions behind right now I hear that and I'm agreeing with Jimmy here I haven't even read his article and I can already go down the WHO is this the android running on Third Party devices fragmentation? Am I signing up for never a Security Update Evronia? Adulthood no I would not personally ever look at third party device like that. Providing those kind of services I do have some android stuff but I by the Google version of it. You know I still have google nexus tablet lowered I bought that thing in two thousand, thirteen, maybe twenty. And it was still getting updates in twenty twenty lake. You know for everybody who talks about the apple jeopardy the Google nexus tablet that I bought way back then is still getting updates and my ipad isn't there is right. So it's not an android versus apple comment it's fragmented ecosystem and people taking on responsibilities that you think maybe otherwise they should yeah, on the Samsung thing. The only thing I will say that's kind of a wild card is how they do the SDK if they manage to get the. Right you know do a full rest well, implemented something that is super easy for the cool kids to pick up high school kids learning recipe is right right. So they lose all the GROOVY devops, but they might gain a whole generation of new people who want to kind of cobble stuff together. We'll see how this looks a couple of years back together and talk about it sounds great. All right quick update regarding Phillips. Hue. Again signify has announced some new Phillips you've products including, and for some reason, this is the one that's getting all of the press attention a one, hundred watt equivalent old previously there full say think we're either. Sixty or seventy five watt equivalent, and this is going to be one hundred watt equivalent. This is something that a lot of people ask for in smart bulbs because. So many of them are not as bright as you might expect to have in, say a reading lamp or something like that. So this serves that need it is warm white devil and that's it. It's not white tuna bottle unfortunately that I think is probably the biggest missing thing here I would agree with that part of that I'm sure is keeping the costs down this thing's only gonNa cost twenty bucks in the US. So that's pretty good pricing for smart bulb from six. Specifically, because the Phillips you stuff is usually pretty expensive compared to other products. So this isn't a bad price for this type of device. I am super excited about this one if it had tuna bowl warm. Yeah. I am an absolute pass on this on I. Love Light. Give me a hundred watts everywhere. Okay. I want it everywhere especially now that we're all living inside one hundred percent of the time, the ability to be able to do the warm white ambient lighting dusk to dawn style features that we've had great is awesome as China with somebody just a couple days ago, and he specifically called out looking at one hundred watt bulbs that he couldn't believe the difference in the living space just how the shadow is just a fact everything about your day. Right? You just get that bright clear white. It's a whole different experience like that's what I'm looking for the fact that they can't do tuna -able. White is for me. It's a hard bass just instantly, but one hundred watts. It tells me that they're probably going to see enough that the next version that this comes out, which is the thirty dollar version I might look at again, right well, and hopefully they will end up coming out with a version that does support that tuning capability. It is surprising to me but nonetheless, it's a good addition to the line, and this is one of a couple products they announced the other one that I wanted to call out was an update to their lading strip plus the big thing here is that if anybody Has Ever, used the villa to lightning strips which I think for what it's worth win as far as lightning strips are concerned, they fail in price because they're the most expensive they list ninety dollars, but the color consistency and the brightness and the tune ability of light from these strips is far better than any of the other home kit compatible strips that I've tested certainly far better than the random led strips you're going to buy from some Chinese vendor on Amazon, but you're paying for it and the other problem with these products has been that they were very inflexible. You could buy an extension which. Added roughly another meter, but the problem with that was that you could only cut these things in I. Think it was like twelve or eighteen inch increments, which doesn't give a lot of flexibility in what you cut it. The rest of it is gone you can't use it again unless you bought some third party, add on's to couple them together I. Have heard that is no longer the case with the new ones exactly. So this update to this version besides adding Bluetooth compatibility to the Strip is going to add some connectors that will allow you to reuse and reattach and bent on right angles this version But again, there are third parties out there that make connectors to do that. If that's something that you really want to do with your Phillips you strips Phillips doesn't get my vote on the best trip they don't okay. The fact that it's only a single color. If I'm GONNA spend that kind of money on an led strip I would much rather go with the facts in that. You have I think sixteen color zones, addressable zones instead of one color for the whole thing. Is To do a whole bunch of cool stuff. So for me and again it's use case based. It doesn't bother me if the specific ex value of green whatever is not identical between the two. Right. So that piece I totally get that there is a use case base for that, and if that was my requirement, I'd be with you hugh from everything I've read everything everybody I've talked to always has the color fidelity, and for me, my use case is under cabinet and accent lighting in the kitchen so. It's important to me that ever and wherever I buy that Philips Hue Strip I can be reasonably assured the one under this cabinet that I installed this year and the one that I installed under this other cabinet a year ago are going to be pretty close and look like they belong together Yep. All right..

"Control and automation brought to you by the digital. Media Zone I'm Richard and I'm joined by Chris Young also known in some circles as Home Kit Geek hosting home Nick Dot Com and a youtube channel and a twitter account hate on Chris Yeah I get around to I'm doing great how you doing today Richard I am doing. Well, you know we had ww D. C., and we had a lot of discussion about all the announcements and I wanted to spend some time talking about those with you today. Absolutely. Yeah. This was the Christmas comes early for us on the Home Kit camp. So yes. Yeah indeed and there was a good amount of home kit talk. They've also come up with a really good way of packaging their home offerings together in a way that creates a more approachable product category for Apple I think apple did what apple does they created a ecosystem play that provides more value us the customers, the deeper we get in their play. Right? Some may not like it others. May like it more. It's what they do. It's what you in what they do hand. It's what they're good at. Well, we'll definitely touch more on net. But before we do that, let's hit some news and updates. There's not a ton to go over but there's some things that I wanted to point out and I stop I wanted to talk about is rash of Smart Home Services Shutting down. Either this spring or that have been announced this spring and some of this stuff is already passed, but there's some stuff coming up in certainly with the little game of chicken that we've been playing with wink over the last couple of months. It's been kind of top of mind as people look at the smart home in wonder will heck. What is it safe to invest in when I don't? Know if the service that this company offers is going to be available or if they're going to support this piece of hardware two or three years down the line. Yeah. It's a really interesting time where companies that I think got into smart home business what four or five years ago with expectations of a certain business model I think they're realizing that perhaps they made some bad assumptions shall we say? Yeah. That's a fair way of putting it and I think part of the is that most companies sister and understand the costs associated with maintaining cloud services and maintaining software and hardware over the long term after you've sold the hardware, the I, I'm GonNa talk about is signify and they're Philips Hue Line. They announced early this year or late last year that they were going to retire their first. Of the Phillips Bridge and what This meant was that you are no longer going to be able to use the Philips Hue Bridge the circular one that they had before home kit was out. This is an old device I mean, I think this thing is like eight years old by now if you're if not longer because you was really one of the first smart home brands that gained popularity shortly after nest, so they have shut down the. Services that support bridge I believe you could still use the old software with the old bridge inside your home to control stuff locally. But really what's the point of that because then you don't have integration with third parties and now even Google assistant we learn had still been working through local integration, but Google assistant has now cut that off in. June. So Freddie much this is for all intents and purposes a pretty coaster with lights in it. It is, but I think it's one of those things that you have to look at what did you actually buy Oh yeah. For me personally, it doesn't affect me at all. Of course, my Philips Hue Bridge was the second generation I've actually got two of them because I hit the maximum amount of fifty lightbulbs. Issues my biggest complaint is that you can't have to hubs connected to your Amazon or Google Account, but from A. Standpoint almost an an I don't care I agree with you. I'm not upset about this. It is just kind of a sign of the time another one that shutdown this spring was Sirius Xm shutting down automatic. You know we had Yuba one of the founders of automatic on this show years ago. This was a product that I thought was really cool because it helped pull your vehicle into your larger smart home ecosystem when serious bought this I questioned what they were going to do with it. Well, the answer is pretty clear nothing they did close to nothing with it. They tried to re product is it a little bit and make it a part of their other offerings for vehicles, but it just never really took off for them and they neglected to keep it up to date. Now, if you had one, you have the ability to turn it in and get a rebate. For it depending on how old it was it was a little bit. So they did the right thing for the most part but this is frustrating to me because this seemed like a really cool product that through an acquisition ended up in the hands of someone that just didn't know what the hell to do with it unfortunately graveyards full. That's how these things go. Right I was never a customer of automatic or Xm so far I've. been reasonably lucky and calling. But yeah, I, think that we're going to continue to see more things like that. We're going to continue to see more acquisitions happen the market starts to consolidate and we're gonNA start to see especially as things like chip connected home over Ip start to take form older versions of be not supported older versions. Z. Wave not supported all that's going to start happening right? It's just something to look forward to know. I don't know that. I, look forward to it but I hear you another one that just Kinda. slinked away without any pomp and circumstance I think they tried to close the doors without anyone noticing was a smart camera manufacturer called. Guard. Zillah. You could buy these at retail I. Think they were really inexpensive compared to other connected camera products used a cloud service that they turned off shut the company down never let anybody know they didn't even let their retailers. No there were retail partners that were still selling this product when it couldn't be used and we can thank consumer reports for uncovering this Oh i feel dirty just listening to that. Yes Oh. Yes. Can you believe that I've never even heard of guard Zillow, but that's gross. It really is makes the industry look bad. I'm really not happy about this. Let's turn that on its head and look at a company that's doing things right led Vance. One of the brands that they own is Sylvania kind of a mainstay in the lighting space for years and years, and we've talked with them. We've had them on the show we talked with him. About their smart plus lighting line. I've always thought that it was very confusing when they rebranded smart plus under Sylvania that they had the old lead Vance Light Affi- line now also known as smart plus and then they had the new Sylvania's smart plus stuff. There was Bluetooth designed to work with Hunkin and they were branded smart plus and you had to make sure if you're looking at boxes or looking online that you were buying the right thing they are I'll say. I'm retiring these legacy light, affi- devices and services as far as I understand they are no longer manufacturing and no longer actively selling though retail channels will still have stuff that they can sell and get rid of from the line that requires the hub. You can still buy it. You can use it with smart things you can use it with other hubs. It doesn't require that you use their bridge or hub. There's still valuable useful products but their own service if you used the smart plus or light fi APP that is going to stop working now when you might ask August twenty. Twenty one you have time. You don't have.

"Chris young at number thirty two that is raised on country the lady antebellum released their seventh studio album on November fifteenth they said this album reminded them of their sound when they first started out and their song what if I never get over you has steadily been climbing the charts well this is a song that it's funny you know we read a time for this project and of course I feel like this always happens it kind of happened with you look good as well last minute the song's just kind of you know you get pitch some just amazing songs here in Nashville and this one came in and it fit a slot that we that we didn't have and is a song that Ryan heard he also wrote you look good he and John green lower belts and Sam Ellis road together and I'd asked Laura thank that week before he'd written with her and I said we you send us some stuff you know just send us that we're bored listen and everything I listen to every song gets pitched my wife just because you never know if like you hear those like stories of someone passing on you know the dance or something and and so this came in the first thing I did when I sent it out to everybody was like I think this would be a great do it and yes we try to do at and this is probably my favorite thing we've put out you know since I need you now I just that's kind of the sound I feel like that we were really that we started from you know was that back and forth of that long it's been a really long time since we've released a song that is you know it's mid tempo ballad that you're getting that both perspectives of of a heartbreak and so you know we we really have not released a song like that in a long time and so it feels really.

"Live at KM VR dot com to get the warriors back tonight at oracle the start of a really fun stretch where they play Sacramento Thursday in Houston, Saturday, both at oracle. Don't forget our oracle days are dwindling which one oracle arena. Oracle part, the oracle park days are increasing oracle arena days, so many oracles Murph so little time Wendling don't as a north bay city guy. I don't get the East Bay enough since we moved back at a twenty eleven but headed down to BMW Fremont USA shoutout to Gretchen and the great crew down there. Chris young. He's our guy. I got to say, well, we make fun of a CYA. He'll get things done for automate due respect. I do. But anyway, the point being is that I drove down eight eighty and they're just looking at oracle. I was looking at it. I mean everybody who listens to our show is driving by it right now. They're like, yeah. Dude. I drive by it every day. Beep your horn. Let's do it together. Out there. Let's start a flash mob in front of Schwab. Whatever happened to good old fashioned flash. Steve Young's wife gave him one and somebody filmed in out, and he looked like he was like not. No, I I thought the whole thing from day one. I remember one of my guys, dude. What am I rock and roll guys Perry Farrell from Jane's addiction like I'm talking twenty years ago at this point? Maybe when it was first starting to bubble up. He put something on the internet. Hey, guys, we're gonna do a flash mob on market because they were like in town doing a show or something. So he was trying to organize a flash mob on market to do a number from Greece or so because usually a Broadway musical. This punk rock surf like weirdo guy. Now. He's gone flash. I'm think I'm into this. He was going to do the you're the one that I want finale from. Track. Libya, transformed everything that's the question pre or post pre you like you like the cheerleader. I'm very pre something about the way that was a little adamant about it too has a little bummed when I was ten leather. That's why the Murph and MAC show works. So. Well, immerse going cheerleader milkshake all that kind of good old stuff driving. But for me, it's the leather dude it's the smoke, and then she snuffs out the cigarettes. That song as Yukos on his knees. Early on his knees. Joe who who is the better Olivia. The better sandy pre makeover. Or post host really? Yeah. I like her in her hair and everything. I just like the fact that Travolta instantly falls to his knees. He's so blown away. Balmy. It's a ground. You guys you guys eat all your I'm a purist appearance. So if you're hugging your horns past oracle get a flash mob going anyway, I gazed at the arena's look like did it really need to be torn down. I mean, listen I've gone on. And you guys know my on the record. I'm a tampered Cisco guy, first and foremost, I love that. They're going to be in San Francisco, quite frankly, selfishly it's easier on my life. I don't have to deal with the Richmond bridge on weeknights getting into warriors games. And I just you know, I'm excited. I'm excited for them to be in San Francisco, China basin near AT and T or oracle whatever. So I am. I understand. I get it that if you're from Oakland, you're pissed I get it. I get it. I will admit to Oakland people who say there's no need to move. I don't think they have to move. No, they don't like for as the giants at candlestick. They sort of had to move. It wasn't work. I mean, they just sorta had as much as we loved it. While these beautiful yards were cropping up all over the league. And we go out to the stick, dude. It's forty three degrees on Tuesday. Do we need to be doing this? I don't know. To miss an love Candlestick Park can the chase center. Bring that oracle. Can't I'll tell you what it's going to bring it's going to bring state of the oh, by the way. Dude. Can I I don't know if this is your responsibility. But I actually heard a rumor about who the ban might be who is it am I allowed to? This is. Give us a hand. So we can guess they're British. It's a rock band. Oh, I thought it was be a rapper. I her I'll tell you. I thought Drake that's a great guests, and you could be right, Murph. Because all I wrote on Twitter. I heard a nothing more than a rumor. But I'll share it with y'all. I heard maybe they won't be the first. Although I heard there we're going to be a maybe they'll be like one of the first I heard it's going to be the who the who now to Britain real splashy is it. I'm just telling you what I heard that appealing to the thirty and under crowd. Why would that be? Nobody's going to go to the show. Probably who's under third who just be paulie. And Rick welts in the crowd, and Dave, Dave. Yeah. It seems like that would be an odd choice to open up your wings. Make more sense. Definitely raise ticket prices. More for Drake just telling you what I heard now on the bad guy who is gig in San Francisco now, suddenly I'm the who's who plays. It's going to be half price night. Right on the bad guy. You are poor Pauline dressy guys. Listening. Somebody wrote on Twitter, I'm being very responsible. It's just somebody wrote like that makes all the sense in the world the Steph connection he's Canadian connections Canadian the who's from England. Can we get like, I know I think it should be. I got here we go games. I think it should be somebody like loc- really do this. No, I think it should be somebody from here. Like one of our homegrown. We forty or there's nobody here right now is blowing up hologram to puck. Are we suggesting that this would just be a one off concert that they schedule? Yeah. Yeah. Just to have like a no, I don't know about that. One big concert. They're selling nothing would blow out and I got news for you. You're all wrong, and I'm working on something. So big. Going to reunite the Beatles. Somehow some way out of the Beatles. Reunite oh, did you guys see that trailer for that? Look like, a re first of all movie trailers, a well done movie trailer can go so far as we talked about with Jordan Peele in that movie. Scary family in the driveway. Owning family moved into the new house. They look at it night. There's that group standing. Man, apparently is them. I'm getting triple goosebumps right now. Watching the family inside a little closer to realize their own out there and kill them. So they can be d'appel gangs Jordan's wheel, dude. Jason Roydon horror film nights. Chamaleon is weeping. Peele. Doors doors off totally chamaleon is like twenty years old, by the way, speaking of chamaleon, and we always go back to the as because I mentioned Eric Chavez is listed as one of the favorites to be the next giants manager. It was the great Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe who was on that famous beat crew with Susan's lesser and Howard Bryant yours. Truly and Greg bell covers the Seahawks up Murph, and I hadn't seen six. Remember, how big sixth sense was nasty. See dead people. So. But but six cents was one of the biggest reveals in a mind blank blank. Yeah. So so I hadn't seen it. And it was it was at that point which was in the first two weeks and everybody was talking about it. Yeah. And in how either Howard or lesser said, Gary, you see it saw it. And she goes you surprised I was typing and Gary goes, oh, you mean that he was dead all the while. No. I wasn't God. She killed it. I didn't. So I went into that movie knowing knowing. At least you got the added bonus and surprise of seeing Don Walberg in the shower weighed about.

"I don't know who is really in the market for someone like hanley ramirez but on the other hand matt kemp is still playing regularly for the dodgers so what do i know about how baseball works yeah i know this news was seen as sort of surprising but it isn't really when you look at the larger picture i think this has been discussed with henley before i mean he was a separate placement player last year and he has been a sub replacement player this year he is disappointed d h basically who doesn't hit like a league average hitter and that is not a valuable player so you can sort of see why this happens and pedroia comes back you need a rest or spot there goes hanley and speaking of free agency networking out well it really hasn't in the red sox case i saw this tweet and fun fact and definitely made me say well this is from brian mcpherson and he says henry ramirez was just a matter of months from getting to the end of the four year deal he signed with the red sox between two thousand eight and two thousand seventeen the red sox signed six eighteen free agents to multi year contracts of those sixteen to reach the end of his contract still on the red sox roster and those two were david ross and chris young so yeah if you can develop from within and the red tax of head a lot of success doing that than that kind of works out better for you often which is sort of how we ended up in this place where teams are no longer spending on free agents and players are not making enough money but if you're looking at the red sox recent track record you can sort of see how that happened it is worth recalling that when hanley ramirez was actually when he was a prospect and he was highly rated prospect is minor league numbers were not very good so he was he was initially a story of how minor league numbers might not tell you everything in some players just have to that they put together at the major league level and when hanley ramirez was in his mid twenties he was genuinely one of the very best players in all of baseball he did everything except i guess play great defense but anyway he was a shortstop for the marlins and.
