"So there has been I mean, Dylan LeClair just put out a tweet about it, I think yesterday, a little video tweet about it. There has been quite a bit of a resurgent foot on this. And also, you know, I think we're beginning to notice that the narrative has changed. I mean, even Peter Zihan in a recent video, instead of his it wasn't too long ago, he was saying Bitcoin is worth less than zero. And now he's implying that it is at least has the same value as Zelle. So the narrative is definitely changing. And I think that the people who have been fighting Bitcoin are getting a little desperate. I really think that they are starting to see how antifragile this thing is and how every attack on Bitcoin seems to only strengthen it. It's kind of like in in the fifth element when they're going after the the dark thing out in the sky that wants to destroy humanity. And every time they throw something at it, it just gets stronger. It's it's a really it's a really cool thing to watch. Yeah, I thought you were going to talk about Chris Tucker on the fifth element, but I see you went with that big blob thing. Hey, Matt, do you also think there's a little bit of sometimes people, they they mix up like miners going out of business with a problem with Bitcoin, you know, when in reality there's just bad businesses that go out, especially with something like the halving where, you know, good miners are going to plan for it. Like you said, they're going to make adjustments. They're going to not get over their skis. They're in it for the long haul. And of course, you're going to have miners going out of business that didn't plan right. And I think people take that narrative. And then some of the big miners do project this, you know, to their investors, like, hey, we're strong. There's a lot of people not going to make it. And then you have people that are listening and then going like, oh, Bitcoin, there's a big problem because all these miners are going out of business. I think that happens sometimes. I don't know. Curious what your thoughts are. No, I absolutely I 100 percent agree with you. Absolutely. And it's it's not just to Tomer's point. It's it's a little more widespread than just the Twitter, Bitcoin bubble and crypto bubble. You have you have media like Bloomberg or Seeking Alpha is really bad about this. It seems like once a month they've got a new article about how, you know, unless Bitcoin price hits X, all these Bitcoin miners are going to, you know, go out of go out of business and become suddenly unprofitable overnight. And that old, you know, question mark, question mark, kill or hurt Bitcoin. It's the same iteration over and over. And I mean, they sit on these. You're right. They sit on these articles and then just send them out when Bitcoin is either going price stagnant or a downturn. You know, obviously it doesn't get any traction. You're right when when Bitcoin prints a five percent or 10 percent candle, but they sit on it and wait to dole it out in the summer doldrums.

"I lost all respect for Dude, for Cube. I lost all respect because here's the thing. This guy is not about the community. He's about self. And I'll tell you why. Name a millionaire. Cube has made his 20 plus year career in the industry. Well, for 30 plus years in the industry. Almost 40 years at this point. Name one millionaire he made under his wing. Name one. Around Mike Epps, Chris Tucker. Can't see those two. Can't see those two because they made money on your own. Those guys were millions before. They were making their own way before they met Cube. I asked the comedian. Chris Tucker was already a comedian. He was doing movies already. And John Worsman was doing movies as well and also a comedian as well. He worked with Richard Pryor for God's sakes. N.W.A? I mean, no, they're all separate. Dre made his own millions on his own. E made his own millions on his own. MC Ran had his own label. So this was before N.W.A? Yes. Cube, he left N.W.A because, you know. Wasn't getting paid. He was getting paid. And him and his wife, who was pretty much his manager for his entire career, made some really good moves that brought some longevity in his career. But as of late, he just became something that he wasn't before. And it's just sad. Because the guy of Cuban past and the Cuban past, it's like the same goes. Either die hero or live long enough to become a villain. And he became a villain. And for you to sit across the way. Across from Tucker Carlson, who worked for Donald Trump during his campaign. During his presidential term. Who's a no white supremacist. And have a candid conversation about this at a third. And it's like your old buddy, buddy and stuff like that. They're using you. They use him before in 2020. How you had Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump using you to get the black vote. Like they don't care about you. They want to pull the votes from the Democrats because they know. Here's the thing. News flash. There is no policy the Republicans have. That will drive black people in droves from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party. Name one. Do you think he's necessarily going to give him his vote? Or do you think he's just trying to hear him out and see what's worth voting for? Honestly, I hear what you're trying to say. I just I just think he's just too smart to just be like, you know what? You know, this is the second time this happened, though. No, I'm not. No, I'm aware that he's had he's had some situations that don't put him in like the best light. Now you can talk. I'm cool with it. No, and I'm aware he's had some situations that don't put him in the best light. I'm just I'm just trying to say the time. It just seems like he's more so into like maybe now him being older or family and all that stuff. He's more open to conversation versus like before he was it. But he's the thing is this. So how can you talk to so much? You hear me out? How can you talk to somebody? Who would be allowed to sit at their table? That's fair. Preach. That's fair. You're right. You mean it's three hundred? The only thing we like you to be at the table to take up their plates and take out their scraps and take away their cups. He won't do that for you. No, you're right. I could be me again. Like honestly, we're trying to say with life comes maturity and open open your mind to certain other points of view and all that stuff. I had it in myself recently. You know, I'm not giving him the best of the doubt because I know I know there are people even if I was at ice cubes level, there are people I have zero intention of having a conversation with. I just because I've seen them at the height of his career and stuff like that. He would have controversial controversial controversial figures and they would ask him a tough question. Then he would still he would still like, you know, present himself in a civilized manner and answer them how he chooses to answer them as you should. But I'm with you. There's not too many people I'd be pressing. So he's a business brand. Like I'm not a businessman. I'm a businessman. Yeah. That's what Cube is to the degree. Because yeah, Q Vision, you have all these movies that came out like Players Club Friday series all about your Benjamin's jk promotion promoters, barbershop series, all that in the third. He has the big three. But yeah, other than that, he hasn't really done much in terms of like really helping a community thrive and prosper and all that stuff. Like probably simple Jay-Z.

"I'm your host Derek Andre Fleming. Welcome to another edition of convo over cigars. My cigar is lit. My red wine is poured and let's get it on. So ice cube said recently that Mike Epps is funnier than Chris Tucker. Now I find that funny. Cube said, Chris Tucker turned down $12 million to do a new Friday movie, but Chris Tucker turned down the money for religious reasons. I mean, I can respect that. He didn't want to curse or smoke weed on camera. Now, this is according to ice cube. Cube said Mike is funnier, just a pure comic. The West Coast legend made this declaration during an appearance on the full sin podcast on Friday made the 19th, suggesting that out of his two Friday costars, Epps is the superior full comic. When the host praises Chris Tucker's performance in the first Friday film, while discussing why he did not appear in subsequent films in the franchise, ice cube argues that Tucker's decision was actually a blessing in disguise. If I'm being honest here on convo over cigars and that's what I do, I keep it all the way 100. As it relates to Friday, I'm not talking about just the two individual comedians. I think they're both funny, actually. But I think both comments, both comics, Mike Epps and Chris Tucker are hilarious, but the first Friday movie was genius and a comic masterpiece. To be honest, the other Friday movies have failed in comparison. The on screen chemistry between ice cube and Chris Tucker in the original Friday was just absolutely genius. The punch lines the realness and the relatability of Chris Tucker's persona saying things like, man, you know I want some Kool-Aid. Or y'all ain't never got two things that match. Kool-Aid, no sugar, ham, no burger, damn. Or when he told deebo. Man, stall him out, debo. I thought you had $200. And the late great tiny lister said, I do. But I want to spend red as money. Things like that. I think, you know, it's going to be hard to replace that. I think, you know, minus smokey's character, Chris Tucker's character, so I don't think the Friday franchise is going to be able to keep afloat. I along with millions of others would love to see another Friday, but it will not be as hilarious without Chris Tucker's character smokey. As part of the franchise, it just won't. So cube and Chris Tucker, I need you guys to come together as grown men and work this out. I don't know what they're going through. I'm sensing some friction between the two. But obviously it sounds like Chris Tucker is a changed man. He's found God. He doesn't want to curse, he doesn't want to smoke weed. He's evolved, you know, from a religious aspect. So I think it makes things a little bit more complicated as far as trying to navigate another Friday franchise. So we will see, I just hope that it is as funny. Like I said, I don't want to take anything away from either committee. And I think Mike Epps is hilarious in his own right. Of course, Chris Tucker and rush hour and so many other movies. I just think he's hilarious. So you have been locked into another installment of convo over cigars. I am your host, Derek Andre Fleming. I want everybody to have a fantastic weekend. You guys take care..

"Watching a movie about a sneaker for many critics, the answer is a resounding, yes. Air features Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. It's about Nike's quest to sign Michael Jordan and design a shoe around him. Got a name for it? Air Jordan. I don't know. Seriously? Well, maybe it'll grow on me. I talked about air with cuya P of nerds rule the world. Okay, John, I'm an old school 80s basketball guy, saw how Nike came together. If you are a sports fan, if you're about business, but also I think this is another great family film. It's a good time to head to the theaters right now, John. Air gives us that story of how Michael Jordan was signed to Nike, Nike wasn't anything until Jordan came along. And then made them the premier shoe company. And you get amazing performances. Again, with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who, you know, they've been a brotherhood for a long time killing it on screen. Jason Bateman, some scene stealing from Chris Tucker, who plays the head of basketball operations, Viola Davis. Oh my gosh, this film is also about the mom. This is about not Michael Jordan's mom because she kind of pushed him along to maybe go along with Nike. Great film, whether you're a sports fan, it's pure entertainment. It has comedy drama. I really had fun as well with air. So I would definitely recommend this one as well. On Skype, that's kuya P of nerds rule the world was previews the latest in film TV and streaming. "Hey, Chris. Hey, thanks for getting me and Dan. Hey, I tuned in just in time to hear fritzi's mock headlines. And it brought me back to my favorite fritzie mock headline. Back when Rick Pitino had that little interlude at that Italian restaurant and when he explained it out, he said, yeah, we did fool around, but it was only only lasted 30 seconds and from there was born the heavyweight champion of all mock headlines pasta premature. "On our Roku channel only segment. I baited Chris brockman into saying something totally insane. Actually, that's not that hard to believe. Just let me walk through this. Walk it out. Thank you, sir. Talked about Dante Hightower retiring after 11 terrific years and legitimately talked about how many incredible plays that he made that might not have been on the highlight reel because we're focused on the Malcolm butler interception. We're focused on the James White touchdown that wanted an overtime, right? Yep. That'll catch her. The Boston knee party or all of that. All those games. But defensive play set up all of them. Sure did. And then you said he's going to get the patriot Hall of Fame where you get a red jacket for it. And you said this is going to be a lot of red jackets coming out the next few years. And I am mentioning Bailey's appys red jacket night's going to be awesome. You told me you then hated me. Knee jerk. And then. You said when's that going to happen? I said, week 6 of this year to which you now say Matt Jones is making the Pro Bowl this year. Guaranteed. Okay, now, in order for me to bite on this, and this has to be the way you're saying it. The three guys who get the first shot at it. Not like I said. It's not like he makes it because, oh, Joe burrow's got a hangnail and he didn't win the AFC championship game. Josh Allen suddenly is all wobbly. Well, somebody's going to the super bowl. Quarterback will make the program. It's not the Tyler Huntley of this equation. Top 5. Is he backtracking now? Is that what's happening? No. Absolutely not. Matt Jones, I know you're excited Bill O'Brien's coming back and you think that that's going to be the end of that. Because I have no choice. Okay? You should do. You have choices. I have choices of being a fan without saying the most outrageous things like that. D hop, maybe. I don't know. Well, that is coming up next hour. There's apparently a hot market and just because Belichick was caught on a hot mic before the Patriots got the break of Kyler Murray blowing his knee out against him last Thursday night. They would have won that. Oh, okay, got it. So long story short is Belichick goes up to Deandre Hopkins and says, I think you're awesome. Thank goodness. We only play you once every four years. That that means he's going to suddenly pay Deandre Hopkins to bring Mac Jones to the Pro Bowl that you're saying he's going to get. Mac Jones Pro Bowl. Understood. Fantastic. Book it. Book it. Write it down. Guess where Susie and I went last night. We went to the screening of the new film air. The Ben Affleck directed and he also plays his place Phil knight. In the film and Matt Damon plays Sonny vaccaro in the film all about Nike signing Michael Jordan back in the day. Cool. And dark knight to film night. Look at you. Look at you doing that sort of thing. It's a few other films in between for Ben Affleck. You know, like an Oscar winning directing performance for Argo. That was Batman. So I got to tell you, this movie is fantastic. Fantastic. Okay. It felt like it was 5 minutes long, I wanted to go another 5 hours. An absolute pop culture, the light. You know? The opening scenes do remind me a little of winning time. It's right around the same time. You know? Mid 80s? Yep. Yep. And they go straight down to pop culture wormhole to start. And it's great to see Matt Damon and Ben Affleck on the same screen again. And they're terrific. Jason Bateman's great in it, Viola Davis is Jordan's mom, spectacular. And it's so much fun to watch. And it's one of those two where you're on the edge of your seat and you know, spoiler alert, Jordan signs are Nike. And you guys will love it too, because you guys are shoe nuts. Yeah, I can't wait. No, is this a theatrical release? Is this a theatrical release? Okay. Yeah. I think it comes out the Tuesday after the day after the national. The week of the national championship game. I saw an interview with Affleck where he said that Michael Jordan's only request in the movie for the movie was that Viola Davis played his mother. Well, they checked that boxer. And she is phenomenal in it. Phenomenal. It's so much fun. Who does Chris Tucker play in the movie? He plays one of the Nike executives. Okay. In the film. He's terrific in it. Chris Messina who plays David faulk is terrific as well. Honestly, there's not a weak link in it. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. The music is all from the era. It's really well done. And they utilize it one point of the film not to have any spoiler alert. They utilize the music that the bulls always introduced Michael. At the right time, they use that perfectly at the right time. And I also did not know because I'm not a shoe nut, like you guys are, didn't know that the NBA required the shoe to be mostly white, back in the day. Never see his interview with David Letterman about that. No. Oh, rich, you've got to go to YouTube. Jordan, you mean Jordan and lagerman, and let him make some all time joke about what you just said. I will do that. I will do that because I'm fascinated about the subject now. Another great part about the movie is not only 6 of the next day, but you want to learn more about it. Which is going to come in tomorrow wearing some ones. Oh man, look at how we hope, bro now I know what you mean by that joke.

Christopher merloni. Wow. Let's go. Yes. I'm sitting with my daughters. And my youngest daughter is always spotting celebrities. Always. The last time we went to this restaurant, she goes, dad, Courtney Love is staring right back at me. I said, well, then don't stare at her. Was she staring at me? And I go, are you sure it's Courtney Love? And I look over and I go, I'll be damn. Courtney Love is right there staring at my daughter. Like, what are you doing staring at me? And then my daughter was going to have a stare down with Courtney Love. Did anything else happen? Courtney Love? No. That was it. Now, Law & Order, you know, big time TV show. Elliot stabler detective stabler. And my daughter goes dad Chris maloney is right over your shoulder. And I thought he was like right over my shoulder and I said, what's the show? And then my oldest daughter goes, oh, Law & Order. And I go, okay, all right. So now they're talking about Law & Order and all the great episodes and what they love about the show now. Dad, being a so called celebrity, now I have to go over at the end of the meal. Wait for him to be done with his meal. He was with the group of people, so then I can go over and do these celebrity saying hello to a celebrity. And I walked over and I went to hi Chris. I'm Dan Patrick, sportscaster. He goes, okay. And then I went. Oh no. Yeah, it was bad. It was bad. Okay. And I had my daughters there with me. And I think they're thinking, well, this guy obviously knows our dad. And then they realized that he didn't, and then they tried to clean up the mess, you know, the spill and IO 6. And then my daughter goes, and then one of my daughters goes, I never watch your show. It makes me too nervous. And I go, that's not a good line to have. My other daughter goes, I watch, and that's all she said, and then my oldest daughter started reciting episodes there. And then I finally, I said, do you live in nearby? And he told me what street he lived on. He didn't ask where I lived. And I go, oh, I live close by two. And then there's pause. And I can feel my wife tugging on my shirt. Let's get out of here. It was bad. Exactly. I could hear the Law & Order music in my head going. Oh no. And awkward. Oh, yep. The sports guy. Okay. In about 40 minutes, we are going to have a professor on from the University of Virginia who is going to talk about why we need to get rid of daylight savings. It's coming up this weekend. There are certain places, though. Isn't there like a small swath in Indiana, like Evansville, Indiana? Yeah, kind of like that to east west of Indiana. They don't change. Some southern Indiana there's like a swath, not the whole state, but there's an Arizona. So 4 o'clock here. Sorry, I know we close. Yes, because it's still 4 o'clock here. That's why it's closed. But we did this because back in wartime. World War I in World War II. To conserve energy resources. But do we need it now? We'll bring on a professor who will talk about that coming up in a little bit. Your next great movie night is here puss in boots. Fritzi is still reaching out to celebrities, entries have to be submitted by the 15th of this month, and that will be before the first round tip off at noon eastern on Thursday. That will be march 16th. Yes, point. So far in that celebrity bracket contest fritzi has 15 yeses, 32 nos, 173 awaiting response. I'm trying not to take that person away. Maybe there's still mulling it over. One 73. Yeah, that's a lot of people who aren't quite sure if they want to be in the celebrity bracket. They're on the fence. If you're even close to famous and you're listening to this right now, you should be offended if you want to. What's up with these nose, bro? Derek Carr said no? Yeah, it's just focusing on the saints right now. Justin Herbert said no. That was surprising. Joe burrow said no. That hurt my feelings. To a Tonga by Lois said no. Rory McIlroy said, what's Rory's problem? Come on. Rory McIlroy said, no, what's his problem? Matthew McConaughey? What? I get why Nicolas Cage would say no. Why? You're doing, you gave that whole picture. Because she's Nick cage. Bill Burr said no. He loves sports. Jim Gaffigan. I am shuffled. Garth Brooks said no? Yeah. But Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney may join us and Tim McGraw. Joy behar's undecided? Kristen Bell? You're either in or you're not, and only 5 days, I gotta get all these brackets in. We need them in 5 days from now. You can't be on the fence too much longer. Tom Hanks is not gonna join us. You never know. Jason Sudeikis, Bill Barr. Come on, dude. Henry Winkler? He said, hey, I'm not interested. Mike Tyson Mike Tyson's not going to join us. I don't understand the whole thing. You want to talk about pigeons. That's fine. Jason Statham is not going to join us. Daryl hall is not going to join us, but John Oates might be back in. We hope we love John Oates. Okay, Jessica Alba is a firm no. Chris Tucker might join us. Never know. Okay. We're struck striking out as big as you want to say to words that are coming out of my mouth. Is that your Christmas card? Chris Tucker. That's all I know about Christopher. I just remember seeing that problem. Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mind? Chris Tucker is going to be in the new movie called air with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon. He is, and I didn't even know that until I saw him and Ben Affleck, promoting it over all star weekend. Okay. He comes out once in a blue moon. Okay, how many movies has Chris Tucker been in in the last decade? Decade? All right, let's go back on his IMDb. He made kind of broke out as smokey and Friday and remembers that 1995. After that, he was in a bunch of stuff. You know, Jackie Brown, rush hour, blah, blah, blah, then rush hour two, and then it stopped. Rush hour three happened O 7. Silver linings playbook in 2012. Oh, so he played Bradley Cooper's buddy. Right. Smaller role kind of? Yeah. Okay. The movie air and then rush hour at four is in development. Of course, 2024. In the past ten years, Chris Tucker has been in zero. One music video and something called Billy Lynn's long halftime walk. Which is, it's like a wartime movie. That he was one of the stars of. But I have one movie in the past ten years.

"And it's too much to the point that now you can't even find that whole episode on YouTube. Revolt TV broadcast at any time soon. I guarantee somebody has a tournament already. By the tour on the out there, but there might be on the podcast network for what we care about. But the next part, the next part, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Go ahead. The next part of before you get into that. What? The thing is let's just say for argument's sake that someone decides to reupload the whole thing, you could even find the link download it, watch it on watching on your laptop computer. However you could possibly watch it if you could get access to it. How many people are going to sit there and watch the whole thing through? Versus watching a 5, maybe 30 seconds to like 5 minute clip of him saying something and they don't have the proper context. You know what it is? It's hard. It goes back to where we are in this country, where our microwave nation, where everything into us a little bit. Right now. Globally, we're a microwave planet because whatever is quick. Quick. And that's just how it is. We don't want to be here for three and a half hours, watching some self. Some guy ran off. Yeah. Go off the rails. Exactly. Listen, then would that being said, then we shouldn't hold them to the fire for out of 32nd clip then. We know what it is. Kanye? Anybody. Unfortunate to the anti immigration league. I'm not going to get in trouble. I'm not trying to trouble. Every drew's person. You're in a safe space. Hollywood, like Seth Rogen. Drug apatow. Michael rabbit report, Saracen would have all people Sarah Silverman should not be talking. But I digress. And so many other people who are clean for his neck. Dude, is it going to have the same before? You know, I was going to and while I was my teachers came out, nobody set up the way it came out in full force idea with the Jewish community. Of course they do. We have a system in place that reminds you every freaking day of why they matter so more than yours. Of course it's common knowledge we notice. Yeah. Why even make a shirt? Because temperature can throw me because we had your back with Kim Kardashian. Nephew, you chose her. We didn't. And they told and they warned you. And we warned you. It comes from it comes from the standpoint of like, well, damn, I was the first one of that. I took the hit when, you know, when they had the whole thing during Hurricane Katrina, when I said George, George Bush don't care about bob. Everybody was up in arms and stuff like that. We had his back though. That he was like, it was like the minute I'm doing this little tangled thing. With the baby, mom's just like, hey, I gotta get to work. We've seen how hurricane played out. Hundreds of thousands of people misplaced. That's the people dying. They hurt you to treat it. All because the response time of people was so pissed poor. They even Buddhist media is the leading cause of death in black people next to pork chops. Well, blame the piss poor fema on bush because he could cut the funding. Exactly. But people forget about that, didn't they, yeah? No. But back to the whole situation. We got the resources. Did he say that? He couldn't wait to get after it. I remember they cut that thing so quickly boy. That's going to take it. Hey y'all, Chris talking. Fast. Chris Tucker. But it's like, listen, I know a lot of people out there who want to apologize for Kanye and do mental gymnastics here and there and hey, go for it. Do you? I got the time for you. You want to spend money? I have sneakers and it's melted croc boots. Go for it. I don't care anymore. You know what? Do you use your money? Me personally, I can not support it dude. Oh shit, just to get attention from the wrong people. And now, going to what's going on right now, him and Clinton's Owens, nah, I'm sorry to see the grip of what it is, because I have to admit because now she's on these going like this. What's going on? She getting that to the tucked off his life. Yeah. 'cause when they sell it to him and he buys it, like, whoo, man, we dodged a bullet bro, we cooked all our money back. Those who don't understand. We're coming from with the whole situation. Here's the thing. As of today, it's just been announced that Kanye West is in talks of buying parlor from some British dude, which originally parliament. Yeah. And he is married to Candice Owen. So now you see why she has miss ego. She's so using each other. That he's using her. Listen, that may very well be the case. But again, again, again, Kanye does have self serving tendencies. But like I said before. What's going on? Well, look what happened to us so praising that he's willing to show porn at an Adidas. A second of beating. So show you how much supposedly my fucking, you know. He signed a contract. That either a partnership with Adidas. Yes, this really happened. Jesus guy here, keeping this girl down from behind. Adidas. I don't like that. I thought here's what I thought, right? Yeah. When they said they were here, I thought that they were watching one of the executives. No, you want them. But when I see my way, why is the phone is here? Well, that's a little phone blurred out for the guy. It's Kanye what's shown in the points he? Yes. This the west side is the I saw? If you imagine I'm leaving, I'm leaving the gun on safety. I'm not going down that shit. I'm not doing this with you. Okay, so go ahead. So I don't think I don't think that was the best choice to drive the point home. You fucked in the ass. Listen. I'm sure it was high quality right there. What pinky blind dick down? Maybe it could have been? I'm just saying. I'm just saying, you know? Oh my gosh. Listen, listen. Come on. Feel bad to be at that beaty. And you want to be poor because you want to show you how barely your. Millions of partners and dollars I would have went back up. And then you're going to look tight and then after that, one of his residents would be like, look at the numbers. Ah, yeah, yeah, that's why that's why you still in the building. Just like that. I think this is a strong brand a world. You want soccer, you know how big a deal is inside. Absolutely. Absolutely. Absolutely. Nike wants to be there, but that's true. Nike's big too, but also. But also, these big brands under choice from dropping the ball. IE Nike was Steph Curry.

"You know very funny in it I'm not like. I was since i haven't seen all the rush hours i could. I i was like. Let's see more of those guys. Like i looked him up and it's not a whole lot on him. I mean you know. Besides the aforementioned jeffrey of sin connection but there's not a whole lot of like him being funny on the screen. Like i mean i don't know what else is the thing that he's done. Friday is probably the biggest. The biggest holiday fifth element element yeah. He's great he's is fucking funny in this movie. He's amazing and he's a stand up. He comes from the standup world so he has some stand up specials as well I think he came out with one of the last four years that was wasn't great but he's great like he has so much presence on stage that he doesn't need to be saying anything funny actually he. Just he's just being funny yeah. His old stand is really funny He's very animated expressive humorous person. it's it's always fun to watch. He was also in silver linings playbook which was more serious dramatic. I live by me. It's been a while It's the jay what's he who's he Some side character like a friend of jennifer. Lawrence's character. I think the dance class. Maybe thinks she's in a dance class or something. Okay i guess supportive friend who's like knows that the main character is kind of going through a hard time. So they're like he's basically dave chapelle in Star is born. Yeah pretty much. I locked out loud when i saw chris. Thicker silver lining playbook in the theater jarring especially knowing so little tidbit about chris. Tucker he does not memorize. Or i think even read scripts so he is fed every single line in the movie. And yeah i have a friend for him but for a big star huge hollywood star As what they call an ear wig where they're just there to read the lines for every single thing that that stars that does and i was swore a swore to narrow talk about it so i hope this big enough. I think it is but i think it's so amazing. Especially when you see in the blooper reel at the end. Where he's messing up the scaffold official line and that was i bet they have probably forty hours worth of footage like that of its unfilled. They are wasting films. Points out at some point. Yeah you'd everybody's just laughing because everybody's getting paid everybody's getting paid getting overtime. Cova did a pre. Kobe pre-nine eleven. I mean america was innocent. Everybody was laughing and then also. He picks up his early generation cellphone to answer. He's france. Call the flip Classic bring back honestly a simpler time. Yeah there there's some companies The nokia brick funds back. They made a new one and Some companies are doing flip phones again. You don't want to deal with the whole just like internet pressure. You just want to have your phone to call and you know maybe do some light texting the world lies from light light to moderate Colon parentheses you know smiley faces a t nine anyway Well what else do we need to cover before we go to the ratings so much more go ahead while oscar. I don't want to cut you off in case you have anything of your love You know it's like you were saying it's just a very quotable movie you know you have the whole who died. Lee you detective you. But and they brought brought that back in rush hour three and not the best way but How does the joke in that one. Because yeah again. I only saw the youtube version of that movie. And russia has three from what i remember. I've only seen at once because it was just such a painful experience you know given my fervent. Love for rush hour to to to watch The the sequel get so Mishandled i think there are like a martial arts studio and there's a fight scene and i think that the main like martial arts guys blind and something along the long along lines of his name is me but christoph took her is also saying me and it's just like okay. This is dumb you know. It's not as good watching especially when they're they're just doing it because they did it before. Yeah just for the sake of the callback. You know which isn't always the best reason to do it. Not wasting film like that. While y'all talking talking talking i am here on. I'm db rush hour two trivia page. And there's a lot of interesting trivia again usually like trivial kind of b. s. for movies. But this is really good stuff. The scene where card and leah running down the street naked in hong kong was an actual take because production could not block the street off for the shoot The dollar bills houston and movie. Say in dog trust and during shooting. Some extras walked off the set with some of defeat cash and eventually ended up in the few casinos in las vegas. nevada situation. went out of control in the production was briefly. Shut down when the fbi subjected the props department to an investigation to determine whether or not they violated the counterfeit difference act of nineteen ninety two. Wow feels like they did at least the people who stole it and spent it violated. That act does for extras. Seasickness helped roh rosalyn sanchez. Fana- lack of enthusiasm for chris. Talkers advances in the yachts. That's acting you do whatever you can do to the the action and there you do with radnor admitted that the first part of the karaoke scene with chris tucker was not supposed to be filmed tucker refused. Act like michael jackson with the cameras. Running between takes. He went up as entertainment for everyone secretly. The director told the cameraman to film it. But not to let tucker notice that. That's a great fun factor. Because you can't you can't you can't tell when you're watching it. You know chris tucker just killing and then you learn. Those wasn't supposed to be in the movie. It's like damn magic at work. yeah. I wonder if his friendship with michael jackson is the reason why he didn't wanna do it. Perhaps you wanted to honor his legacy now if you go on youtube. Look up Chris tucker michael jackson stories and he's been on a lot of late night shows talking about it his stand up and got a lot of good stories. I think michael jackson famously called him. Christmas was his nickname for us. I oh the character of who we was originally written for a man. They assassin lady How do you get Z's zhang she's like a star. She's fucking amazing. I like one of the many reasons i love. House of flying daggers. Which a lot of people hate it..

"Masterpiece. One of the greatest of our time. I understand rotten. Tomatoes is a hot topic here at shut up. I love it. I'm a big follower of what rotten tomatoes has to say about everything we bring here for. Joe has stopped looking At broughton tomato scores seventeen years. I don't trust. I like metacritic a bit more. I do think two percent is an honest rating. Now if i if i there was a gun to my head family's life on the line i would have to give the movie probably name. Yeah yeah i would say. It's it's overall mediocre movie. That i just love it so much right so many good moments. I have one big issue with this movie compared to reverse and what i think it doesn't stack up to the first and that is The emotional connection to the main plot so in russia are one use. You meet the little girl who gets kidnapped her get kidnapped. I'll never you know that. She is close with lee so when she gets kidnapped. You know. I'm not saying. I'm crying over it but there is a emotional connection of. Oh i understand what needs to be done. it's so broad and rush hour two there's a bombing but you don't really know the car bombs you don't even even like partway through the movie. You're like wait. There were special agents. They weren't even like embassy. They like their embassy. People wait but they were embassy people and special agency like okay my supposed to. I don't know who they are and they're not even special to the main characters. It's it's more this other thing. Bad guy is connected to lee so it just feels a little bit like. Why do i give a shit that these characters are doing now. The answers the lingerie. That's what's keeping me from lily padding throughout the movie is rosalyn sanchez and lingerie. But that's what i think makes this one fail a little bit while it has all the ingredients that the first one has you know with the comedy and the stance but that thing just kind of makes it not stick together. What do you think about that oscar. I think that's a great point a very fair point. It really is all about ricky tan and jackie. Chan's connection catan again is it. A love story is another Another dangling carrot of romance in front of us Jk but that's a good point. Yeah because it's it really is just like okay chris. Tucker jackie chan fight scenes phone lines set pieces and at the end of day. It's like i didn't feel anything emotionally you know. Besides this well of laughter and enjoyment today has inside of me. So what are some of your iconic lines or favorite moments in this masterpiece oscar. Well they do a good job of call backs in this movie calling. Back jokes doesn't like to good good actors of call backs you know We love callback and jokes Yeah i was trying to make an accurate callback straight facing like okay. Let's move on Call back to something happening. This episode and i can remember anything that happened. I remember job very aggressive with me. That six seconds delay is impossible. Yeah i'm not saying it's impossible. I think it's a unique to your system. And i need your specs. Come over. come on over. He he refuses to come on. We're going to figure it out. So does oscar. He refused to comment over So okay so we don't recall any iconic lines but there's so many of them right. I mean i can't believe flew ten thousand miles for this no keeps coming back. Yeah jackie chan in the first one Chris tucker says an second one There's a whole cd bit you know. And they're in the car and he takes a cd and throws it out They honor the diehard fans Multiple times with a lot of switcheroo docklands. Yeah yeah Yeah that's a lot of fun. Sasha you didn't understand any of that did you. While watching it. I couldn't understand. Like i couldn't read faces because it's general. That's just my Mo like. I don't understand human emotions. I'm an alien so this whole experience was just very confusing when he says like. You never touch a chinese. Right like yeah. I did not know that. I was like it's got to be some kind of two thousand one reference that i don't know that's a direct reference to you never touch a black man radio there you go Yeah so but it was still enjoyable. You know. I mean. I like that. I like that part when he said that I thought it was also like some things were meant to be somewhat sexual but they warned sexual like they were really like some jokes like on the border of like adobe choose sexual or are they just like no just kidding. That was not a sex joke. They were i mean. It was two thousand one. Chris caregivers after nine eleven. That's usually how we draw the threshold. Let's see. I'll try to look up the date here on the august third. Two thousand one. Oh that's when he came out so it looked out those last some might say. That was the last laugh before nine. Eleven one of the last relics of pre Pre-nine eleven times. The american was innocent then But i was gonna say What was i gonna say. Can't say anything cheap suits i stuck. He's he lives in my brain and a corner of my brain. Cheap suits cheap suits. Yeah that's like one of the lines. That i watched it on re watchos like yeah cheap seats. We used to say this all the time. One of my favorite lines. That always makes me laugh. Still like gives me a good chuckle is when they're at the massage parlor. Heaven heaven on earth massage parlor after the big lake chase scene and they fall onto the from the bamboo thing and get all fucked up and then chris deckers mad and jackie chan takes them to this massage parlor till like relax which ends up being yet. Another ploy of jackie chan character. Just doing his work Obviously they have this whole like spread of a beautiful women and again you know does doesn't hold up objectified because who would ever call them spread. That doesn't hold up right right right Skating and then they are positioned as a spread. Okay their position like a spread At a like a like a little buffet trae. Yes you provide. The ranch was meant to be as we're walking a fine line here. Two thousand one. Not two thousand one The innocent is innocence has gone. And then what happens when he looks at this spring massage parlor Lady is just like okay you know. Follow her to the quiet room. And you get a shot of chris. Tucker and ain't gonna be no quiet room no more such a dumb.

Max's corn ecoles. He is also a co perrineau scooped boop tease a fun house comedy. Show welcome oskar. Lima's hello hello. Thank you so much for having me. That's their horns horn. Let's get a few other noises on that. Soundboard hit one or the other. But i let's see let's go. Let's see. what are we have over here. Is that okay. Everyone three three mortar. We what is the topic of today's podcast. Is it a funny. Sounds you can make on the radio. Is that what you brought in. Today is not that solo work in progress Today i would like to talk about the two thousand one american buddy action comedy film a rush hour two. Wow wow rush hour to the second installment the sequel of trinity the sequel before the sequel that was called rush hour three because they call rush hour three sequel to rush hour two. So that's interesting. We'll get into more of that yellows getting more. So why is this movie oscar. A perfect topic for shut up. I love it. I believe it's a perfect topic. Because i love it. I love this movie so much. Let's start It's a very nostalgic. A piece of cinema to me. And i feel like it's been a kind of divisive over the years you know. There's a small group of people that absolutely love it. There is a group of people that hate it. because it's debatably bad it's not arguably it's not a very good movie And there's a group of people that cancel it because obviously as brett ratner curse on this podcast but oh you can start cursing by now. But you can't say you can't say brett rat. Yeah well fuck that guy. He directed and there's a lot of controversy there. But i personally. They drop in some other controversy before we keep going just just to add. One of the stars of the movie was a big big friend of jeffrey epstein and was a very much regular on his flied slash island adventures. Oh no this. Who's this. Chris tucker. Chris tucker also does a great michael jackson. Ns and he was Famous league very good friends with michael jackson. Wow all right maybe maybe let's switch to a different Thing that i love Your water here. I'm going to defend jeffrey. Seen now. i mean. I don't think we know anybody who would but I'm happy to hear them out. This is a free country But as far as the rush hour two. I believe like rush hour. The original is considered a classic. Despite the brett ratner controversies which i think Yes you do have to separate the art artist in many situations you can still say it's a good movie wall. Brett ratner is bad guy. That's what we think on sharp. I love it again. We're ready to hear somebody else would dozen things come at us at us. Come on the positive. Do what does it take away. Jackie chan's contributions. Chris tenders hilarity. No right but so. I think it is like cemented as a classic but when people talk about rush hour Yeah i've i've noticed. It's the rush hour to rush hour. Three people don't really talk about them where they give a stink face you know. It's like oh rush hours. Great i don't know about the sequels and that's definitely the energy i felt with this franchise. I assume it's similar for you oscar. Yeah and my Independent research over time. I've gathered that russia or is objectively regarded as the best of this Arguably not agree franchise Rush hour one obviously sets the tone set the template Fish out of water with a wacky character rush hour too. I think really just hones in on the science of that and perfect it to a high degree in my eyes just classic buddy buddy action comedy Superfund and then rush hour. Three is just way too late in the game. Like they shouldn't have made rush hour three shower. Three shall not be mentioned. All they probably will be. We always say that But we will talk about it. I think they're connected a trilogy if you could even call it that so active enjoy obviously heard of rush hour two before. Just like yeah. Yeah yeah well this is me ask this. "You cook up a memorable feast for your mom for mother's day and get back to building family memories in the way we have been able to in the last year with this pandemic. I want to play one more clip from chris. Cuomo i want to go back to a prior story here. I should have played this clip earlier. I forgot i requested but it is worth played. You know chris cuomo mona the most do what the government says guys. You heard him attacking. Chris tucker carlson earlier for the audacity to think the government should control. Our lives. listened to chris cuomo by your own numbers. Ten percent of cases happen outdoors eighteen point seven times higher odds of transmission indoors. Combine that with your own data. Eighty seven million fully vaccinated. Just over seven thousand breakthrough investigations. It's like point zero zero five percent. You know the research was that you take the vaccine because it gives you immunity then why not treat it that way and let the vaccinated live their lives. Yeah we'll look think about all the things that you can do if you're vaccinated today you can gather you can go to restaurant you can do all of these things and if you're vaccinated it's simply not safe for you. Just watch the news and look what's happening in india if you need motivation to get to get vaccinated this this thing is still lethal and the cdc. I think it's one thing for a guy like me to go on twitter and say. Oh let's just get rid of everything. Because i've been vaccinated. But if you're the cdc the cost of a misstep the cost of going too fast And having to go backwards you lose everybody in the process. So they're taking their steps. And i think they're doing a great job. They're bringing the country long. Their job is to get it right for the disease and for the country not for any one individual and i think in doing that i think we'll find that these things will come off more and more I walked around today outside without a mask. It was great There's more and more things we can do without a mask and i think if you're not vaccinated that's not the principal reason. You should do it. But that's one reason you should do it. Those cuomo's incredulous tone with wislawa. He's one of the the cdc nih officials even he is starting to realize the messaging from the federal government is so stupid on issue. And now they're coming for joe rogan. Podcast over what he said. Just like the tucker carlson situation. We'll talk about when we come back. Hello and welcome missouri. Erickson here the irks in. "This is the advanced selling. Podcast list of tools gear people and things you need to be following things you need to have in the bag so analysts tools that we recommend people that we follow books that we read or listen to anything else. This is going to be a quick rapid. Here's they are not a lot of depth into them but you can go research them on your own but we get asked all the time. So what books do you read. What podcast you listen to what tools you use. Well we're going to tell you that in this episode. That's what we're going to do. So it's gonna be like a list big list and then you can go check them out and hopefully someone's gov a great tool. Thank you for telling me that. So these are in no order than no order. I've got him in order. Yes you want to put them in order now. That'll that'll take agree. So because i've got some. I've got some tools. Some software some gear some gear stuff than calling people. I follow so also kinda start. You bet software app that everybody needs to have on their chrome as an extension as crystal knows c. r. y. s. T. a. l. k. w. ws s. Crystal knows it's a preparation tool for any conversation. You have with someone. It essentially looks at their lincoln profile. Organizes there that information at finds into a disc profile which is a really easy to understand personality profile better than that though. It teaches you how to talk to them. That has a conversation coach. Based on what. I'm going to be talking to the person about and the modality that i'm gonna use to talk to them so basically says i need to email bill to make a good first impression and it gives you a little sound bytes based on bills linked in profile. And it's amazing. Everybody should use crystal nose. Crm s keynote abuse by the way none of these people were affiliated with right right. There's no need advertiser huge talked about talked about four and it's good good My first one is rev dot com read on com. Rav a dictation service Let's imagine you leave a meeting and you want to dictate A follow up email. You will describe your phone. Open up the revs. Aft- dictated now. You can do the same thing with siri but ravitch's really reliable Person on the. There's a human being you're actually dictates. Transcribes it if it's longer form it's probably better like if you wanted to Dictate an article or you think. There's a really good idea for an article you can dictate. Let them do it. And then come back and modify edited. But i think it's a great time saver it's about a buck and a quarter a minute so it's pretty reasonable. Chances are you're not going to have really long things you're going to be doing in there. But dot com is one of my favorite tools. Love it my next one. That i doubt a lot. Same deal no affiliation whatsoever. Huge fan of gong dot com. Many of you have heard of that. Were power users here at our firm and it is such a useful tool for coaching and for self evaluation of Sales conversation and you get data back from gung dot com. That talks about things you should and shouldn't do in the sales process. All based on data and artificial intelligence is fantastic. Gung dot com Recommend any sales leader listening to this to go check them out against affiliation with podcast so de fan big fan Might second one is A twenty dollar tripod. That i cannot all in on We're going to start doing some youtube shorts. I don't know if you're familiar with youtube shorts but They're all vertical. You see them on the shelf underneath your main youtube feed. So if you're on your mobile you'll start to see these. You're kind of wondering what they are. They're called shorts and they're less than a minute and but they have to be vertical. So you can do a short for youtube and also repurpose it on instagram. Or or one of the other verticals sites. But you need. You need a tripod. if you're going to do any kind of stuff like that. I think the days of holding it for certain things but if you're going to produce something that you want hundreds of thousands of people to see i think you need some kind of stable base for your found Tripods are easy amazing. How many how few people have them. Twenty dollar version is not a floor. Length just sits on your desk and it's really makes a real easy to record. I love twenty bucks on amazon twenty bucks amazon bills amazon link kidding okay. Here's i'm gonna go to people follow. I've got three people. Today i'm excited. Let's get goin' my guest. Christopher here we go all right. let's get going. I'm so excited to welcome our guest today. First and foremost chris ducker. Welcome to the show. Thank you for being here. Thank you a pleasure. And the reason. I'm excited. Is we get to talk about one of my favorite marketing topics which is personal branding. I've worked a corporate job at agents at agencies for eighteen years. And i know what it's like to have a resume instead of reputation but i want to hear from you to get us kicked off here. I think on the right foot. What is the value of personal branding. Why does this matter to people. Or it's invaluable plain simple. Everybody has a personal brand right so whether you want to build one on all is a whole different conversation piece right but everybody in my mind. Everybody has a personal brand. That is it's what people say about you when you're not around you know when y'all at that conference or when you're not at that coffee meeting or at the dinner party or you know that mastermind group whatever it is that's what your personal brand is it's ultimately what people say about you when you're not around and so you know the work we do at. Up know we focus a lot on helping people build genuinely profitable businesses around that personal brands. So that really comes down to two major components number one their expertise. Obviously they need to know what the heck they're talking about to build to be an with fine johnson turning it in the prophets but secondly personality comes into it now. I think more so today than ever before we want to love people we i mean we we do. The world is a pretty messed up place nowadays and i feel like people really do want to do business with other people more so than anything else. And so you know we talk about marketing like a magnet attracting the best ing the rest and all those other sort of you know tweakable quotes and things like that. But ultimately i think it really just comes down to like being really really good at one coal thing adding a very healthy slice of you and and being on apologetically uniquely you at every available opportunity so that you tracks right apl into your weld the same time repel the naysayers and the number levers away. No wonder why it is we. We think it sounds like nice to say we have. It's nice to want to do business with people but it seems like there's something else there that we've been conditioned to ignore businesses and commercials and everything kind of sounds the same but what is it about being another human that makes us want to say that's the person that i'll do business with because i know them. What is what is that. Like in our culture that makes set like interesting to us. Why you know it is it's personality. It's story telling you know we we we do. We want to like people. Were not born cynical. Ails you know what i mean like. We actually really wanna get on with people. We wanna like the for the most part anyway. And i think that when your when you tell your story in your own way and everyone has a story. Every company every found a as a story Whatever that overarching narrative is as then sob stories and sub sections within those stories. You can kind of gleam for one liners whether you're just on stage or maybe you're being of utah podcast or whatever it is. I think we do. I think we crave human attention. We and and likewise we wanna give that attention back. You know it's like all the way back to like high school right. Gulf kids hung out with the goth. Kids ag- nerds out with the nerds. That was going out with a job. You know what i mean and it was like everybody wants to be part of something everybody wants to find that people and i think that's where the the power of it comes from coming to my mind is. It's when you talk about something. Oh gee reputation reputation it's how people think about you. It seems easy in that regard like my pole. Yeah i just be myself and fun doing the things that i'm honoring my the things i believe in. Then it's easy to to have a good reputation but when we say we twist and we call it personal branding suddenly. It's intimidating thing. Why do you think personal. Branding is difficult. You know and why what keeps people from starting watts and has a couple of things. First and foremost. I think that Although everything i've said is on the percent legitimately true people are lazy as well and is like the reality is a lot of people. Wanna all the staff all the success of fame all of the notoriety. But the don't actually want to do any work to get it clearly then not going to succeed and not going to become famous. Knock libyan notable expo in their industry and their niche. Or whatever right. So i think a lot of it comes down to personal brand. I don't i don't wanna be from santa. i don't want you know but you don't have to be fronts. Booting a business based round you. Not reliance on you. And that's where true tried and tested a real business building elements like team building and you know understanding how to read a frigging profit and loss statement. Propylene all these other things that a lot of people don't necessarily assigned to the idea of building custom business it has to be the the The products is you and your experts. Say.
