"They're going to have to do something at the position and you know you and I've talked about it. Did they just bridge to Yuka Peca Lucan in Are they that confident that he's going to be the guy that they don't make any sort of long term commitments or Do they want to be good right away. You know one of the one of the things that have to do with Don Granado. Okay, let's say they hire Granado. It's a young team They're going to want to learn to win. He's going to teach them the way he the way he does, You know, national development team, whatever. We're going to grow as a team. We're not expecting to win the Stanley Cup. Okay, What kind of goal does that team get? The best possible goalie, the young goalie, the veteran guy that they can count on. Do they want to get Marc Andre Fleury right. His name was thrown around like last year. So Vegas is committed to Lennar. Long term. Why would they want to not going to give a flurry? Another contract? So you kind of get to that? I don't know what they're going to do in goal, but they don't have any. They don't have an NHL goaltender under contract so they'll probably bring in two And Hallmark again. He was generally fine. So do you want to pay? Generally find pretty good. Yeah, six million a year because that's what he might want right around right around. Now. Do you try to take a flyer on somebody else's young guy that had a hot year like Carter. Hutton wasn't young when they took the flyer on him fill through power. You want to go give him a big group of U F A in Colorado has cat problems? Go ahead and give him big money, then, right Pheasant, a finalist. You want to go out and give that guy a big contract? I just don't think that's the right approach. Right, so it'll be interesting to see what they do. You know, I I Ideally, you want the goalie that makes you feel great back there every single night, But in a salary cap world you have to. You have to have conversations about every position so It is a more interesting It's a very interesting spot. In terms of what they do, and it feels like the large amount of hockey fans and how the hockey world has kind of accepted the you don't just go out and pay the top goalie on the market, big money the way you would if he's a quarterback, right? We don't do that. But It's almost like a wait and see. Do you have You say no to group our you saying no to Gibson. Who do you say? Yes. To Yeah, well, I'm asking myself that too. Like I don't even know who the who The answer is. There are a truckload of free agent goalies on the market this year. To now, again varying degrees of contract. If you're Philip Group hours, 29, I'm going to guess you're looking for a pretty good sized deal off the season. He just add. Took her ass. Pecker, Rene Frederik Andersen, Devon Dubnyk. Uh, ego. Ego. She's Sturcken. He's restricted. Sorry. Those guys are all U F phase. James Reimer, Peter Marra. Zack, You want him? What about the Florida goalie? The guy that's behind Um, What was it brightens Chris Trigger, Chris trigger. Thank you. Right. He's behind both. Bobrovsky and their first trump expense er night. Yeah, so he's changing to what happens with him, like Is that a guy? I mean, maybe an R F A, Um or are you if I'll double check? Is that an answer for you? Because, you know he's had some success right? And like. It's a he's six ft Four like you might like a tall goalie, But you wouldn't be paying this guy $7 million a year anyway. Well, if you're the Sabres, you might decide again. Like what is Kevyn Adams? How does Kevin Adams view this team? Does he think Our scouts are Pro scouts say this guy is a number one. Yeah, we're going to sign him for five years. 30,000,005 years $35 million. We think he's the number one just Do it. See? But okay, all right, I'll not that I would do this, but I guess if you want to play along on how this all fits, it's entirely possible. Over the next few weeks, Three guys will come off the roster that eat up about $20 Million of Cap space. Michael Reinhardt risk the line in So you would certainly be opening up a lot of cap space. If you wanted to pay a goalie. Big money it gets to for me. I guess it gets to Toby readers going to eat up a lot of that, though. No, no, But Darlene Yoki har you future contract. Borgen. Those are three R F A s middle stats. An R F a splint and R F A Right? But it gets to, I guess you know, I know the position. Yes, the positions important, Ultimately, that's the guy who has to stop the puck and I think, but I still think it comes down to what kind of a team do you have? Like when we're watching? I mean, Carter Hutton turns out to be not so good. But we were watching the Sabres and we're seeing them lose hockey games We're talking about boy. If the goal is could just come up with a clutch, save every now and then to bail out the team when they're making mistakes in front of them. Don't know that Kevin Adams vision should be. We're going to be young from the next 23 years we're going to develop. We're going to have some talent here. We're going to maybe go through some growing pains. We're going to be prone to mistakes. I need a wall back there. I need like a big giant freaking wall to cover up for what this team is going to be going through as it goes through its growing pains. I'm just not a fan of you know you can find a goalie, but whether or not you want to pay him a big, big contract, high cap number long term. I'm just not a fan of that. I just think nobody was talking about Montreal as a model. Now, all of a sudden, they win three playoff series and and Marc Bergeron is the version is all of a sudden the GM of the year when he's been on the hot seat for how many years now in Montreal. It was not a good contract to give out. Nobody in the league thought it was a good contract to give out to carry price. But all of a sudden they make a little run, and now we're looking at them and saying Yep. Do what The Canadians did go sink tons of money into the best goal you can find and bring them in here right now. It's just not the way I would. I know I got to have a good goalie. That doesn't mean you've got to find the most expensive, biggest contract, you know, sink it into a good free agent goalie and pay that guy $678 million a year. No, I just don't think that's the way to go. That's not to me. That's not the correct way to allocate your resources. The thing that Montreal is getting right now. Is first off. They don't have a really high paid forward on the roster, the highest paid salaries Brendan Gallagher 6.5. Josh Anderson Tyler Toffoli. How bout to Foley, who signed for them as a great signing for them? 4.2 you know, that was one of those silly season free agencies where they got what they really came for. Then you've got young and cheap. So if you wanna talk about The Sabres being better. This is this. This is how you again It's not like how you build a roster. Not trying to say Montreal is perfect, but Whole Caulfield 20 years old entry level contract. He's good. Nick Suzuki 21 Entry Level contract. He's good economy. Cut, Kenny Emmy. Sorry of struggling on that again, Um They've They've got young guys that jumped in and have really given them results. And with that, it's one thing that The Sabres have not had that mix right whether it's rushing middle stat or not playing roots align in soon enough, right? It seems like The organization can always claim that the timelines there on are the best. If a guy comes up and does really well in rot does really well after being in Rochester. Well,.

Feels like he's got a lot of loose stool to begin swazi. One of the things that they do that worked as a plot point for me but wasn't sure about the accuracy. Was they set up a triage point in the the lot that they were going to be using as a park. That was kind of The other a plot of the episode why and jackson. I know you've worked in smaller. Towns white is is. Is that something that would happen where they would set that off site away from a hospital. So usually they'll do that with curnow. More disaster situations as opposed to like viral illnesses is usually viral illnesses. You would expect them to have. Maybe a tent outside of a hospital so that you can quickly triage patients. And then put them where they need to go whether into the cleaner the dirty waiting room which is actually what. We're doing an emergency department. But usually when they do an offsite triage. It's because like a bomb. Blew off those Earthquake balloon crashed or quake. Kind of situation. How many hot air balloon emergencies. It feels like more than one too. Because when i used to live in albuquerque they had the hot air balloon. Fiesta and crashes happen and people really thank god. They had that drill. Yeah so but that was the reason why would have that. And then we would do quick triaging which we would go around with tags and Black red yellow green if you have black that'd basically meant you're dead or you're going to die soon. "The phrase came about a time when doctors didn't have an incredibly great track record for carrying patients back, then we still didn't fully understand what actually causes eases infections in our surgeries and operations were still pretty gruesome not that. We that much better a lot better. There is no inist usua- as we've talked about previously on weirdest thing. In our episode at the deadliest surgery of of all time which killed three people in an operation on one patient. So yeah, that alone makes going to a doctor for medical treatment sound way worse. Yes. Exactly. So it's no wonder that people were fearful of physicians, so if I was living back, then I would definitely try anything and everything to not go to the doctor, which is kinda still true today. So the phrase actually came from the public eating an apple was a way to avoid going to the doctor. It was essentially saying doctors are terrible eat apples to avoid from JAMA pay. For medical practice in the nineteenth and twentieth. Centuries was crude and the public sensibly sought to keep physicians and other health practitioners away. So between eighteen sixty six in the early nineteen hundreds of saying of all with a variety of phrases, including an apple a day. No doctor to pay and an avalanche day sends the doctor away people really hated going to the doctor. It wasn't until nineteen thirteen that the saying reemerged again in a far more catchy American style. Apple a day keeps the doctor away. But this didn't actually come from patients, it came from big health groups, and I feel weird saying this Big Apple which is actually in the literal the apple recording this but fake apple. I am referring to the US apple association. You're right. It's kind of a conspiracy. Correct. You are correct. It went from like eat an apple. So that those grubby doctors don't get your money to like apple. Everybody loves the yes. The US apple association promoted this phrase as the way to steer people towards good health. This time the tables had turned rather than the general public using the apple is away to rebel against doctors. Doctors and other public health groups are now using us a way to tell people how to eat and live healthily. Yeah. How terrible. The question is though does it actually work. So in twenty fifteen group of researchers actually looked into the scientific evidence of whether or not eating one apple a day for a long period of time really does make us healthier than those who don't eat one was this in the BMG Christmas edition. It was not. But I can so we should do an entire weirdest thing on VM J Christmas edition. Yes study. So for weirdos listening, the British medical journal puts out a Christmas edition every year where studies they're not fake, but they are like sillier some of them do like make important pieces of commentary like there was one. That was like there are fewer female surgeons than surgeons with the name, John or something like that slightly wrong. But the ideas the same so BMC Christmas articles are usually a real hoot. Can't wait for Christmas. So we're going back to the study in twenty fifteen the publish their work in JAMA. And the researchers studied around eight thousand people from a large longitudinal health study called the national health and nutrition examination survey, which is also an in the medical world as an Hanes their conclusion evidence does not support that an apple day her way. However, the small fraction of US adults who actually do day do of here to use fewer prescription medications. Okay. So right because like who actually commits to that. But like, Chris trigger parks and rec. Definitely like oh correlation causation thing where if you're eating the same piece of fruit every day as part of your routine, you're probably the kind of person who like has healthy routines like brushing their teeth for.

This television show is I'm album parks and rec and you're loving loving it last night. I watched the episode where Chris trigger comes that make last night. So officially I'm like. And. The hook of Tom was Tom Haverford. I got a bone to pick. In. What ways do you think you're different in every single way possible clear cut as you think it is to Julie. But when Chris and Ben show up though that is when the show I hit the. Here's the great thing is we have been loving it even up until this point. Yeah. It's in credit. We're watching it almost every night cosign. Speaking of liturgies, who did you think I was I'm show notes. Surpassed show. Julie what are you enjoying right now? It could be album a book thing. And like what what you're like. Yes. Yeah. Well, sticking shows. I guess Mason king turned me onto the good place. Y'all. Yes. Yep. So JT your how far in are you? Are you Notting approvingly? Okay. No. I'm when I'm gonna show them all in good. Kyle councilman. He told me about it. Yes. It's very good. I'm enjoying that in life. This is kind of sappy, but I'm really enjoying being the mom of a teenager right now. It is guys. Don't be scared. It's such good stuff. She is my just she's my sister in Christ. And that is just a bless relationship. And so that's been really fun. Love it. So the good place and being a mom to changer. All right. Yeah. It's the same. I watched the like I said, I mentioned the Mr. Rogers thing if you have not seen it waste. No more time. It was just fantastic. He was a person for whom people couldn't find a category. And I thought man that he was an alien and a stranger. So that was a made the mistake of watching it on a plane. I would say don't don't do that be that you are alone. Or with people you love and have a box of Kleenex, but I have loved that. And we're also working our way through the good place. And it's it's just thought provoking I love how each week. I'm like, oh, I probably should have already thought about this. As a Christ follower. It's a good show. I feel like that. I'm a big fan of this kind of indie goal horn. He he's a singer songwriter. And I think all of his albums are just phenomenal. But he just released now everything as it should be. I'm not getting kickbacks here. Okay. Like, it's just the toothbrush. Toothbrush stuff where we are getting kickbacks. But everything is everything has it should be is an incredible album. I like it just has managed to me so deeply so everything it should be NFL horn. Listen to all the time. It's very good. Very very very good. I'm like, look it up at great. Let's pay. "You got to keep it going in motion. Otherwise, it's it's bad to stop it as we'll find out. So Tom talks to Cato about this idea. Hey, why don't we why don't we keep Jonathan? What do you think Cato is not sold on this Kato are enthusiastic guy who are Chris trigger? Here is very much Downer. When. It comes to this plan. He's not not into it. Yeah. Okay. So another piece now. Good segue with restrictor, Tom. Is there anything we can do or there's nothing we can do like that's pretty much how I felt with him throughout the night to where it's like I understand yet. But like like, no, I don't I don't see it. I don't think I really don't think we should do this. And it's funny because a lot of this kind of stems on the fact that Thomas seen as an emotional guy. And we kinda see a lot who will talk about this part of him throw yesterday about the fact that oh he was so depressed on the block. That's why he was saved. And this is based on what Kato must've said in his veto speech, which also comes up again throughout the Sunday where Thomas seen as this fragile bird. So a lot of the things he sang while they start to make sense while they do make sense. Well, it's a good argument to make they can't help. But be like you're just being emotional about it. But he like, that's what it is. And like he's Canadian, obviously, there was just a nice guy. You can't handle these like brash comments that you're you're not well equipped. For it. Yeah. Kato is really. He's also trying to be like, I don't worry like wasn't trying to be mean or anything like. You want? What are you talking about? So yeah, it's it's a strange situation there in Thomas trying to be like, look, I'm not gonna do anything without your consent. We're not gonna move ahead unless you agree with me what I'm trying to do right now is convince you to make this move. And if I can't convince you then maybe it's not a good move. So he's trying to be as as as soft about this as possible with keta, but. You know, what's weird is that everything Tom has done with Cato? So far Cato is listened to Tom Tom is the smart one Kato is the one that just kind of goes along with it. And then all of a sudden when Tom wants to actually do something it's it's completely shutdown. Tom does not have as much control in this relationship as we might have thought is the lesson that I learned yesterday and last night. Yeah, I feel like once Cato starts getting the wheels undermined starting to learn obviously, Tom's have been is like tutor it's kind of like teaching the child manners, and that's been working well on Kato. And I think it was just really afraid of the ramifications of something like this what happens next week because obviously, we're fine. Like Tom keeps trying to throw up. Let's talk about the next week. Let's start planning. Let's figure out a little let's finish this week. I like this'll be let's just do this for now. I think catos terrified what would happen if they were to do something to piss off Ricky and by proxy, the girls or something like that. Terrified confrontations. We'll eat there. Yes. So we we ended up getting a, hey, another, Tom and Kato confrontation. A little bit later. But I I we had taymor talking to Ricky Lillo tame throughout the day is also campaigning for a let's save Jonathan message, which is more. Let's evict candy than let save Jonathan. But it has the same effect. She saying why are we taking Jonathan he's not coming for us? Again. Tae Mars, speaking the truth. She is like, well, I don't think what Tom is doing is like necessarily the right move for him. What team are saying is the right move for these women. They shouldn't be taking Jonathan Jonathan isn't coming for them. While candy is at the very least they should be going after Joey who is more likely to come for them. But for whatever reason they're just really stuck on Jonathan and tame is trying to be like, why are we doing this? But Ricky is right there and Ricky is the reason they're doing it and Ricky is not letting them move away from this idea and Mars just getting shut down all day. Yeah. And like the thing is this kind of goes back to the emotion..

"Alive feed update for January twenty fifth. I'm heroes turn Armstrong. And with me today is who how you doing? I'm doing good Tarrant last night worlds collided. Team fund can fund feeds became one. And it was a night to behold, honestly, I'm so excited to be here to talk about all of it. Yes, we had some we had some fun last night. It's an eventful life. You'd update here. Maybe not as eventful as some of us would have liked, but eventful nonetheless, and we're gonna get into all of it as we talk about everything that happened on the live needs yesterday in this big brother celebrity to house. So let's talk about it. We started the day with Jonathan and Dina just kind of talking. I mean, we really started the day with Tamar complaining about Ricky more candy more we've covered that at this point Jonathan in Dina Jonathan was campaigning to her saying, hey, if you vote to keep me, obviously myself Ryan, and Joey will all be protecting you and she's like, oh, yeah. Of course, some totally cool with no new forever. And I love you. And I'm totally a mom near the mean, girls guy. You're like my second, son. It's all good. I'm cool. Second mom to you. So there you go. Natalie in Kato, we're talking they were confirming the votes against Jonathan this kind of a funny conversation because Katie was like, yeah. This is great. I totally feel like you know, you and Lolo in me, and Tom like I would love for that to be the final four and Natalie was like here. Like keeping each other safe next week. Totally. That's exactly what I was thinking keeping each other safe next week and did not really catch onto that. No throughout this podcast. I'm gonna make an argument of a comparison that Kato is an older, Rob Lowe in parks and rec is an older Chris trigger, and that's what I'm seeing. So as long ago about this, but he's very enthusiastic and obviously in that enthusiasm. He loses anything that Natalie was kind of alluding to. Yeah. Yeah. A health nut though. I feel like maybe that's where we lose it. So my theory is that this is Chris trigger that has realized he his body is no longer microchip, and he's not gonna live to be one hundred fifty six accepted, the terms, but he's still got like enthusiasm. Make sense. So we also had Joey Ryan and Ricky Joey was trying to campaign to Ricky a bit saying, hey, you should you should keep both me, and Jonathan and then we'll we'll be on your side, and everything will be cool and Ricky was not really having any of it. The story of Ricky is. Something that we have to watch out for today yesterday. I said, hey, Ricky's doing a great job. He turned those women against those men. He's flying under the radar. He's likable watch out for this guy. And Tom is in a great position. So I mean, I could see this season turning into Ricky versus Tom at some point little did I know later that day. It all comes together way earlier than I would have ever expected. So just watch out for Ricky who doesn't complete. He'll turn this day this lovable. Nice flying under the radar guy. Turns into major douche in my. Yeah. Yeah. It's one of those situations where it's almost like he found out. How people how much people were impressed the bottom and it got his head. He was really flexing those muscles. Like, I'm the big cheese now, and he really kind of tries to make it known, and we'll get into a bunch of conversations that Ricky's had yesterday, which all essentially boil down to you'd really need to say it like that..
