Because of a concussion although kyle did say he was trending in the right direction and giovan kin law who as we know has a banged up knee although he did play seventy percent of the snaps last week so hopefully even if he didn't practice that much he can still get in the game also. The forty niners have signed another running back. That would be chris thompson. And they also signed defensive lineman eddie yarborough to the practice squad to make room on the practice squad. Tell them about your your thoughts on gi. Joe since this is a big deal podcast. What are your thoughts yet. What's that thing ginger. Oh no no no off. I have been a fan of gi. Joe since nineteen eighty two. I believe i actually said that. In the thirty five tasks on august. I remember getting the book in the corner store and i remember from that moment i was i was i was into figures is into the cartoon. Obviously the comic book. I'm still collecting the comic book today. and now the big thing is the classified figures which are unbelievable and really i mean at the end of the day There's been a few things in my life that is Has been instrumental in regards to guiding down the path of the creation patients that i am today And that would definitely be. Joe is definitely what i did that on purpose. Obviously star wars as well stars. Zoo has been a huge part of my life and then there's been a lot of other things i mean. Really if you look at the properties that were creating very much In the anthropomorphized action adventure. And what have you so shows like thunder cats street sharks extreme dinosaurs up your hair. I mean i could go on and on on i mean all the stuff from ninety s was definitely a An inspiration the that has helped me create what i've created today and then the crew that i have and krista i mean deputy instrumental in making everything comes to the point where it is and i couldn't have really. I couldn't have done it without the so. Yeah so that's that's really Gi joe in a nutshell said i'm still collecting the comet today and i love it anything that has anything to do with gi. Joe it's unfortunately we lost it for so many years and has wasn't doing anything with the property and you know funny story And i know what nexhmije's later but actually mice really came to to be because of the frustration. I have with the fact that hasbro wasn't doing anything and we were always getting. Its houston you know. They couldn't do it. Couldn't strike lightning again. Which i which. I thought was just a lot of malarkey. And yes i used to milwaukee and it was correctly yes and the reason i used that term on and that point is because they were doing it every two years transforms so to me. It just seemed like it was. It was an easy way to get out of a. We just can't figure it out which is fine. And i mean you know. They're amazing company. I'm not. I'm not talking bad about has per by any stretch of the imagination. I mean they do a nominal job with properties they have and they are an inspiration for all of us as creators. so it was. It was a driving force to prove that it could be done and with actually what what we did was we created a property that really captured the whole gamut of gi. Joe but at the end of the day still became something very new very fresh and was able to be source out more to a larger audience than collectors. And you know jay. Joe is is for everybody but really of the day today. It is for collectors and the classified series. Unfortunately the retro toys. I'm not fan. Because i think they should have gone back to eighty two eighty three stuff and that kind of like what they did with the star wars retro. I mean they really gave us those figures that we had back in the seventies and gi. Joe showed up in the stores and it was like oh okay however the vehicles gotta say the vehicles are unbelievable so yeah so we wanted to create something really captured the heart and soul of what. Gi joe was kinda took it to a new market opened it up for new fans as opposed to just for collectors so we weren't going to create these six inch. Action is the kind of walked by gi gigo with anthropomorphic features and they were more for collectors. I wanted to have something where kids could really grasp it and get into the story and enjoy it. That's my little bit on on it. I'll let the guys say anything they want to say. So christopher you are you from From jiji fangio i. I grew up in the the same the same period as as john did. And as. I'm assuming the rest of us did so. I grew up with Gi joe in thunder cats and transformers and masters of the universe and all of the classic cartoon series. All the classic action figure series. I wasn't as like as right into gi. Joe john is he's a honestly he's the god of gi. Joe anything you've ever possibly need to know You can ask him and he'll tell you until he's blue in the face and you get tired and falsely from it but I had a number of the figures various versions of the different figures. The vehicles the sets. I watched the animated series regularly. I think what really drew me to it. Originally as a as a kid was the was the action. It was an action type of show. That was really comparable to anything else. That was running at the time. Like these weren't superheroes these weren't giant robots. They weren't you know animals creatures. They were regular basically average humans. And you know they had to deal with real life problems at the same time as dealing with the incredible fantasize action sequences that dealt with their their battles with cobra. And i just. I really got a lot out of that. It really made me see that cartoons didn't have to be what you would typically see as cartoon like not everybody has to be superman or human or anything like that you can have regular people as your animated stars. So i thought that was very cool and they'd really really stuck with me that way and when john brought me in on action mice as soon as he started talking about the property. I just thought oh my god. This is incredible at something that i can really get that same feeling for and make something that appeals to both people like myself and then everybody else here who grew up with the gi joe series as well as give something brand new to a audience to make it accessible to both the longtime fans of animation and action series as well as to new fans and young fans so should the the market has to grow to. Do you have a just ordinary. Yeah absolutely yeah origin story. Gi joe for me was what i rushed home from school for. You know there was Like if i got finished my newspapers time. I'd get to watch transformers. I get to watch the i. Joe is the back back you know. It was the the the toy hasbro Our that was on. tv channel. Twenty nine if i you know there in time and i just remember the the excitement of i can't. I can't wait to see the next episode. That's that that was the first thing in my life where you know you were really anticipating a new episode especially when the new seasons came out because when you first had like there's both transformers. Gi i joe. They had their opening series and and they would rerun over and over and he'd watch that but then finally they came up with the new season and it was just like this whole world. And i was just did. It was like christmas every day. Got home from school because there was a new episode of and And i met was amazing you I remember the first episodes of gi. Joe got to figure out.
