"My 20 year old doesn't care if Scott Rollins in a Hall of Fame. The 50 year old does. I know. Yeah, I don't know if it's as big a deal. Yeah. You know, the 20 year old doesn't care if bonds gets in or no, it doesn't care. It's not going to bother them, but like Manny and it bothered me that shilling didn't get in. Because whether you like it, I don't like Jeff Kent's personality, but that's not factoring into this. I love Dale Murphy's personality. That factor into this. All I know is certain guys you just go Kurt Schilling was a Hall of Famer. Absolutely was. 11 and two in a postseason I'll tell you somebody else that I've done a lot on that I think is a Hall of Famer that you may have heard me say it that I am shot. He's not in. How was Steve Garvey? We brought him up. We did 30 minutes on him. Two days ago. He had 11 all star period. I think he's got the most all star. He would be Robert Redford not winning an Academy Award. It's like, you know, that guy over the course of his, he might have been just too good-looking, Chris. Well, attached something else. You know, he played in 55. Postseason games. 55. He had 220 at bats. You notice batting average was? Three 38. With 11 homers. Yeah. Hold on now. Here's the guy that won an MVP. He had 200 hits. He played in what? 1400 games before he broke his finger that year, the book ain't over the slide of the plate. He was a great postseason hitter. He was on iconic teams. He played for 1213 years in a row, and this guy's not a lot of fame. I mean, and he played in a big market, you know? You would think that playing in LA that that would be reason you know what, how about we work on this together, you know? What Steve Garvey project? We're going to get him in. You know, I tell you right now, he comes on with me all the time.

"Super Bowl rushing touchdowns. You know. Joe Montana. Yes. Damn. Yes. Wow. That is pretty damn good. Holy smokes. And I gave you nothing. I gave you nothing. I didn't get a hint on that one. I can't you did. I kept thinking, you know, Elway or McMahon and what made you guess that one? Montana. I thought you might say that was the Bengals. It was against the Bengals. Yeah. I didn't know if we had just talked about that game. With the Bengals and Montana. All right, so now this is the audio one. I don't have do we have the audio? Do we have an audio? I don't know if he's got the audios ready, Todd. Somebody's got to tell me if he's got an audio already for you. I never thought Dan would get the number four. No, we don't. The fact that we don't have an order. Okay. So that is the sample size of what you do. Now, here is the key for the audio. Without giving too much away. You got to look for a theme. So the audience has to think, okay, what is this jerk gonna come up with this year with the theme? The game is in Glendale, you don't know who the participants in and so Monday, so I can't play along there, the number was it Super Bowl 57 Dan. I think it's 57, is it not? Yeah. So maybe you come up with a number 57. So I know what the theme is. I'm not going to tell you, because then it gives it away. And then I won't be able to last if I need content. But you get the idea. And then you got to come up with the guys to discuss the Super Bowl. And then have them figure out who it might be. But the fact that you got three is a tremendous job. Make them tougher next year, mad dog. Okay. Well, the first one. It's okay. I'm joking. Second one. The second one is hard. The second one was very hard, but I kept thinking, okay, who played, it was talking to it. And at first I went, wait, old miss, no, you went to Georgia. Okay. And then it was stabler. Okay, Alabama. Okay, that was the first SEC matchup that I could think of with the two quarterbacks. So what made you think of Terrell Davis?

"I heard our good friend Chris Russo talking about the Christmas Eve stuff. And he was saying, he's got a problem because he has to go to church and he was talking about that eagles cowboys game and the way he phrased it. He just goes, I want to watch eagles cowboys. I got to go to church. The bottom line is this. I'm dead. I'm dead on Christmas Eve. The 1 o'clock games you can get. So command is niners is not terrible. Oh, so it's only two games on Christmas Eve in the late window. Command there's niners and eagles cowboys. That's it for the window. And nothing that night, right? Yes, raiders steelers. You don't have to. Nothing that night, exactly. I'll say this. The fact that at four 25 there's only one game you gotta lock in. That makes it a little like that'll be on the TV at my parents house. It's just a matter of how close I can pay attention to it. Not the way that we would normally want to. And for me, I'll take it a step further. I sat around all Thanksgiving with football on all day. There is no chance I wouldn't even want to do that to my family. They're going to be like, dude, like, take a break. I want to watch the game, but I prefer on the one day a year that I love more than any Christmas Eve, I prefer to have, I don't know, home alone on in the background or a miracle on 34th street or Christmas music. I can't be worried about dak Prescott and freaking eagles on Christmas Eve. Well, that'll be over at least by 7 30. Yeah, but for me, we got young kids in my sisters in my niece and nephew, whatever, my God. Like 7 30 8 at your rapping off that night. Oh, is that way? Okay, see, that's like, maybe that's a little early, but still like with the baby, our bedtime is 8 9 o'clock, so even if we extend it to ten or 11, it's still, you know, you always got to find the positives, the positives here is the night game is rate of steelers. So you're not going to be missing anything. Right. That's true. That's a no, I'm not watching that game. And I probably won't watch the 1 o'clock games either. And I definitely won't be betting on them. Well, I shouldn't say definitely. Never rule anything out, but I don't think I will. That was a quick retraction. Where do you stand on your Christmas shopping? It's just so different. I don't have, here's where I stand. I don't have the time to give it enough thought. There are things that, you know, you've got to take care of, okay, let's pay out this guy and this guy and whatever you get to go over the garbage man and I like this is good. This is good. What do you give the garbage men and what do you give the mail carrier? I honestly forgot what it was last year. So I have no idea. I mean, 50 bucks. It's a hundred bucks. Yeah, I think I get 50 and I think I may have mentioned that on Twitter and everyone called me like a cheap bastard.

"Of my aim for buying it in the end, followed by trying to talk to Sal wakata. And buck gets into a lot of the move from Fox to ESPN, how his first year calling Monday Night Football is going. Gets into his relationship with Troy Aikman, differences between Fox and ESPN get into Thursday Night Football, how Al Michaels is doing, calling a horrible schedule, and a lot of other things with Joel and a lot of Tom Brady stuff and how Tom will do as a play by player and Joe possibly if he would have stayed at Fox working with Brady, so we get into all that. Before we get to the episode and the interviews, make sure you check out recent SI media podcast if you haven't listened. Great run of guests lately. Kevin Clark from the ringer last week, Jim Nance, two weeks ago, John O'Reilly sports business journal three weeks ago. Chris Russo, Dan le batard, recent guests on the SI media podcast as well. If you're not a subscriber, hit that subscribe button. And leave a review on Apple. We read them last week. We'll read them probably in two weeks. We got some good reviews last week after I begged everyone to leave a review. So go on there, hit the 5 stars, write a review on Apple, helps the podcast tremendously. And that's all I'm going to ask of you. Now you can listen to Joe buck followed by train of thoughts with right here. On the SI media podcast. All right, joining me now. It's been a while. I know he hates doing this. I have to make it as painless as possible. He is the voice of Monday Night Football on ESPN. How weird is that? Joe buck. I know I even respond to that how weird is that. That's the worst introduction I've ever had today. I just, you know, 20 years at Fox. And now you're The Voice of Monday Night Football. It was a different 28. Well, the NFL you did for 20 with Troy. That's, well, not with Troy, yes. Yeah. Well, that's funny. But I did the NFL at Fox for 28 years, Jim. Right, right. Come on. But I'm talking about researchers in that. The package of you and Troy, which is moved on. The package. Yeah. Yes. You know, I'm just gonna warn you right now. And I'm gonna warn your listeners. I'm coming in sleep deprived. There is just, I'm probably gonna get fired for what is about to be said on this podcast. I'm gonna let everything hang out for you, Jimmy trainer. So just be prepared 'cause I'm worn out. "There's limits on all these sites. They can't, you can't more than like $50 on a prop Ed. I mean, they're not, there's nothing here that that scenario doesn't exist of someone trying to fix the game. Yeah, and then I think it just comes to fundamentally differences because if you are you personally are okay with finding out players are betting on games. Then that's your opinion. I would think you were in the minority, not that that makes it wrong. That's just you. I have a big problem with that. Outside of fixing a game, I don't know one reason why a football player can't bet on a football game. It's just a bad, it's just bad. It's a bad look. I wouldn't want to watch a game knowing that the players are betting on some of the games that they're playing in. Whether it's whether it's because of definitively they can make a difference in their bank account or not. It just is a, you know, bad optics, which I hate that term, but that's the reality of the situation knowing that the guys playing in the game, well, what about coaches then? What about the assistant coach? Who may get fired year after year after year is he allowed to bet on the game? You have no problem with that? Again, I would make the rule, don't bet on your team. But if the jets suggest if the jets assist in coach, that's a charger's chief game. Who cares? I mean, I just, and again, the assistant coach is probably making a $1 million. Right. It's just to me a common sense integrity thing where it's a no brainer. There's no need for what's the need for Calvin Ridley or anybody to bet on the game. You're getting bad. How can you say that when you bet? I'm not an NFL player. It's a big difference. I'm allowed to bet. He's still a human being. He wants some action. He's bored watching a game. All right, but again, if you bring the drug scenario into it, if your job is not drugs, this is nothing to do with drugs. We're not talking about it. It's your job saying you can't do it. You can't do it. And the story. So he should get punished, but it's the length of the punishment. A whole year to me makes no sense for something that's not that big of a deal. Let me ask you this question. If our Rogers bet $3000 on DraftKings, do you think Roger Goodell is spending it for the whole season? There's no chance. I mean, but then you could say the league is the league is on the take for a different reason. Maybe not gambling, but then it's not right, which I think that there's some truth to it. So I think the lack of it, same thing with Brady..

"Now why though? What's the difference? If he's not playing in the game, I mean, you don't think a rough call a holding penalty. I do, but I would have a problem with that, but I don't understand how you can say that you would have no issue with a player. What is the plan? Because I don't think a player is going to fix a game or throw you. All right, well, what if a referee can bet on a game that he's not refereeing then? Would you have an issue with that? Not at all. He could do that. Now you're just getting into the where you're opening up, the only way to possibly prevent the fans from losing the trust within the game, which a lot of them don't have to be right or wrong. You don't trust the game now because Calvin Ridley bits and parlays. Oh, I don't think anybody trusts the game fully prior to that. And how could you say that you shouldn't know, I'm not one of these conspiracy theories and I try to leave all that stuff out of it. I want to watch a game and believe that it's on the level and there's integrity to it. I mean, I love sports. However, it has been proven in years that, I mean, they had it a referee in the NBA fixing games. Right, but that's different. The Calvin really, he's only fixing the game if he's betting against the falcons, which he did not do. And again, if he has an $11 million contract, he's not fixing a game to win a $1000. He's not doing that. The guy wanted some action, he was bored. I can relate to it. I don't think it's suspend them for a year. And by the way, no sense to me. He might get more than that. And he'd be lucky if he doesn't. I mean, he's suspended indefinitely and he's got to appeal that at the end of the year, but I just think it's so stupid. He should be suspended alone for stupidity. You can't forget the act itself. You can't do it. It's very simple. Have your cousin plays the bed for you. Why do you got to go do it yourself? One has nothing to do with the other. He can be out and not play and sit there in these board and there's an NFL game on his TV and he wants some action. Why couldn't he just go to his friend or cousin and say, hey, put 5? He's spending 1500 bucks, right? It's not like a million. They've made it very easy to do it on your phone. He probably didn't think he would get caught. To me, this is like, it's someone doing something at work, they're not supposed to do, but people do it. You know what it's like, how many people listening to this podcast right now. I'd love to know. Have stolen a package of printing paper from your office where you work. And then you bring it home and use that in your printer. You do stuff at work, you're not supposed to do, you think you're going to get away with it. I'm not saying this is on that level. My only issue is this suspension. The suspension to me is absurd. The guy did not do anything that.

"Was in the mix before the Flores lawsuit was fine. Right. Miami was going to go after Tom Brady and Sean Payton. And the filing of the Flores lawsuit caused the plug to be pulled on that. Now Miami privately will allow that they've talked about minority ownership for Brady, but I think, you know, they're not going after Sean Payton to have Sean Payton coach to a tongue by lower. That's for damn sure. They had another planet quarterback, and I think it was Tom Brady, but that got derailed. Now, I don't know where else he would go right now where you can walk into a place where the deck is stacked in your favor like it was in Tampa. And you look at the forty-niners. You look at how good they've been with a mid level quarterback. You put Tom Brady on the forty-niners, they're the Super Bowl favorite. Going in, whatever odds you want to put, they go to the top of the stack in my mind as the favorite to win it all this year. That would be something, holy cow. I wanted him to get into broadcasting, I guess that's not going to happen. You mentioned Flores and the dolphins, the other thing. I wrote a column last week. I am in love with Mike mcdaniel. What a breath of fresh air in the NFL, this guy is, I mean, he was at the combine and did a bunch of stuff with eyes in. Your show. Yeah, it was your show. It was awesome. I got most of the clips. Right. It's funny. I didn't even put that together. It was your show that sort of prompted that. And then the eisen thing, and then when John lynch was given the press conference, he was waving at him. Just how can you not love this guy's personality? Can he work as a head coach? The thing is, you know, with that personality now translate to getting 53 men to listen to him and follow him, what's going to go on there? I remember when the eagles fired chip Kelly, Jeff Laurie, the owner of the team, was talking about the importance of emotional intelligence. And it felt like they had it with Doug Peterson into it all kind of fell apart there. But I look at Mike mcdaniel and I say this guy gets it. He's got the emotional intelligence. He knows what to say. And I don't know that his relationship with each individual player is going to be different like a Jimmy Johnson would do. I think that he is so unique and authentic and disarming that his way will gravitate people toward him in a very enigmatic and powerful way where he doesn't have to be one way with this guy one way with that guy..

"He clearly confused the fans when they see that like what's really going on here. He clearly gets off on playing this game. I mean, there's no doubt about it. I mean, this is his MO. You know, Rogers is fascinating to me because I don't I don't think he's a bad guy. I don't have any. But I can't remember seeing a top level athlete. Go through such a heel turn. I mean, you know, listen, you know this better than anyone. You hate to just go off of Twitter and use Twitter as the guide for this. But I mean, this is a guy, if you go to September of last year, or August, let's say August September. You're the whole country basically wanting this guy to become the host of jeopardy. And now, on Tuesday, when the Russell woolson trade happened, people sort of like, ha ha, Aaron Rodgers couldn't have the day to himself. I haven't Rogers must be so pissed off right now..

"But I will say, I think it's a very limited path in terms of these big jobs. Don't all open up often. I mean, this is what's going on now. The reason why it's so unbelievable is because number one slots, once the Joe buck thing happens and then settles in and then Amazon makes a high like this is going to be it for number one spots for a while because I don't think Troy and Joe won't be going anywhere for a bunch of years. Romo just announced just resigned. Now NBC obviously has to go to so you know, I don't know two or three years from now if this goes on again. This is a very unique time. I agree with you completely and you're right. It's not going to be a common problem. There's not going to be a spot for the flavor of the month every January of February to jump from a team as head coach to a broadcast booth. And I think they are going to settle in with the kind of commitments they're making. How can they not settle in? Look at the buyout that you would have. If Amazon would have hired Sean mcvay for 5 years and a 100 million, if they get bored with him after two years, well they're going to owe him $60 million to not work. That has to factor into what they would pay to go get a replacement. And I think it would take a white whale, a Peyton Manning a Tom Brady, somebody who would say, I want to do this to get one of the networks to buy out the current guy or reassign the current guy like CBS did with Phil Simms when Tony Romo fell into their laps, something like that. It would be a big name decided to go pursue it. They're not going to be pursuing talent the way they are now. Let's shift to what took place this week. I saw a tweet, I think, from you earlier, so we're going to butt heads here a little. I wasn't surprised Russell Wilson got traded. And you're saying people like me are dopes and how can you be surprised?.

"Who was, you know, I'm not as wrapped up on the new music as I should be. And I had some chances to see Dylan here in the last few days in the last couple of months. And I love Dylan, but I don't want to hear those I want to hear the old songs. And he's not going to play an 8 me, babe. All right. I'm not going to get that. So I wouldn't do that one. If I could see a band today who would I see? Wow, that's a good question. Well, how about I give you something while you think about it? Yeah, yeah, well, you should give me some thoughts and I should not say if I want to see him. I went Sunday 5 days ago, NASA coliseum, Elton John. Yeah, I've seen him a couple times before. It was his last tour too, right? That's right. Well, here's what here's what I was impressed by. He did a show there Saturday night. So he did back to back Saturday Sunday. And that's what coliseum, huh? Yeah, no lord management. He did two shows in Madison Square last week. I think he then did shows at either Barclays or the new UBS USB, whatever it is. And then he did coliseum. Saturday, Sunday, back to back two and a half hours, 75 years old. That's a hell of a job. I was impressed. You know what, right now, I've seen him before. I go to the stones again. I want to see what Jagger run around a little bit. Maybe there's still a touring during the United States. Oh yeah, they tore all the time. It seems like. Yeah, I mean, I would say that sounds like Springsteen is going to go. And I've seen Betty jolene in time. Let's talk about you. Yeah. $40 to park at the NASA coliseum is a little much. And so was it sold out at the coliseum? So here's what happened. He was a Saturday Sunday. I wanted the tickets, obviously, for Saturday. The Saturday prices were through the roof on StubHub. Sunday, the prices were like almost half the amount. People don't want to go to concerts on Sunday nights, I guess, because I got to go to work the next day. There were scattered empty seats, but it was for the most part sold out. Is he playing? Did he have a warmup and it was by himself? No, by himself. And he had a good and here's another thing that shocked me. The ticket, it says 8 o'clock start time. He was on stage at 7 59, no full on it's very good. I hate when they get out at 9. Jackson Brown, I've seen him a million times. And he just was out last summer with James Taylor. Yeah. I didn't go and I probably should have a Jackson only played ten songs. If I knew he was going to play 2022, I'd go. Right. But that is one, too. Now my huge shacks and brown fan. I'll tell you what I hate and what needs to stop is the nonsense of the encore. Just stay on the stage and do the show. Why do you have to go away? We got to clap, then you come back. It don't waste my time with that. That's a very fair point..

"I don't know. Some of these questions are just crazy. But there was one here that I wanted to do that was good for you here. And I should have had it ready to go and I didn't. Go ahead. Who has been outside of Howard? Who's been the best person to interview you? Well, that's a good one. That is a good one. Dan, Dan Patrick's very, very good. Howard is tremendous interview me Nick baumgart Nick baumgartner of The New Yorker who was very good when he did that huge story on Megan Mike back in 19 2004. The guy from The Wall Street Journal about my tennis, I think his name was Jason Day. Jason gay. The adjacent gay, who is it? Excellent. When I did that Wall Street Journal thing, those are you, of course, of course. You don't have to do that. You don't have to do it. But Howard, Howard is great. How does it best? On your Howard can make anybody sound interesting and keep shop forever. He knows how to deal with Brady a couple years ago. He was superb. The next time you go on there, you need to start dropping some F bombs and shock them. You know, taehyung, I told him last time I was on was April 6th of last year. He said, why are you waiting over a year? How about within the next year? He said he would. April 6th, a month, a month away for plan out loud, and I haven't heard from him. And doesn't go on anymore. He's missing. He's missing. I got somebody else answering that question. Where the hell is he? I don't know. Missing. We haven't found him in a long time. Yeah. "Why pay Joe a 100 million? Let Joe leave and we'll bring Alan for three years. He can do the Sunday Night, Sunday afternoon games, and we can give him the two super bowls and we can have him do the baseball if they want to go that direction. It can have outdoor baseball smokes. And don't do that. And what I keep telling people, don't underestimate this. Fox has two of the next three super bowls. Goodell is going to want to top crew in there. Goodell's the one who wouldn't let Mike tirico do Thursday Night Football when NBC got Thursday night. He said, no, it has to be out. So good point, Gödel's not going to let anyone do the next two of the next three super bowls for Fox. Yeah, that's a very good point. I hadn't thought about it now. I would not get the answer Sunday afternoon game. It's not a national game. I mean, he's going to get an occasional 1 o'clock Carolina and Philadelphia game. And he's going to have to deal with that, but it does get, you know, the NFC championship, and he does get, well, two super bowls, and if he wants, he might have a chance to do some baseball, which he hasn't done in 25 years. And here's the thing. You have four time slots. Sunday, four 25, Sunday Night, Monday night, Thursday night. Out of those four slots, the one with the most viewers is Sunday at four 25. Yeah, I know that. So people don't realize that that window is the biggest window. People think it isn't. They think it's probably Sunday Night, or Monday night, but you're a 100% right. That for 25 window on Fox with the NFC games, specifically. There's a huge window. Right. So that would be, I think, very appealing to Al. I know the answer to this because I listen to you every day, but tell my listeners around the country, how is the gambling stuff affected your show if at all, or do you see you have to do more of it? I mean, I talk about it. The cat's out of the bag. Yeah, I talk about it more. The over is the unders, the lines, and this, you know, ten years ago, I never would have mentioned that I would have taken Carolina with the 11 and a half points against duke on Saturday afternoon, which I would have done. You made sure to make a murder would have done that..

"Now, I can listen to any radio show in the country. So that's true. I made it just so the selection is so great that they almost have to do it in clips instead of doing all the way around. That's why they might demand the banging on those first of its kind all day. All right. Let's have some fun with some random topics before I let you go. First of all, let me just say one thing about the radio show. I love the guillotine. That's because Colin doesn't want to fool around with the recapture when we play it over at night. He wants to be open at 6 and have his dinner with his two kids. So I guillotines to cause. So I don't get, he doesn't get caught in a break situation when he's done everything. That's what that's all about. Go ahead. Why can't, as you called him, Leonard DiCaprio, being a sweet at a rams game. Is he there in the middle of October when they're playing some lousy team? That's the reason. So you have to be at all the games to then be they got to show me that you're more of a fan than a guy who just shows up for a Super Bowl for crying out loud. So if a match standpoint or a championship game, that's going there to be seen and I want to protect the sports fan and say, you know what? I want a legitimate guy who does not have to live and breathe his team, but knows who his offensive lineman are. He doesn't know that. I completely love that rant. But here's where you're off on that. The average there are no rams fan. Nobody cares about the team anyway, but the average football fan can't be in a suite. They don't have the money to afford a suite. The average fan. The suites are for the Leonardo DiCaprio's. I understand that, but I mean, you think Leonardo DiCaprio is a huge man stand. You think he's sitting there watching ram football. If he didn't sit in his suite and how to sit at the 30 yard line and deal with all the traffic and he didn't have to take a helicopter to the game. Do you think that he can be at the ball game? No. And that's impossible. I have more respect for him though than the celebrities who root for 20 different teams in the same way. But now I totally agree with you. Well, we don't even know if he reaches the ramp. So as I've been ascertained, buddy Lenny is a huge rampant. You tell me. I didn't realize that all of a sudden he goes back to Gabriel and bob waterfield. I mean, that's the issue they have with them. And I think you're right. I think the point you're trying to make is that all ram fans are probably like that. But I just happen to pick on him so you might be right about that. Well, my thing is, you know, your issue with him being in a suite. That's who the suites of four. The sweet time. I see. You're more wrapped up on the suite than you in the game. Okay. I pulled this week. You would have more, I think you'd have more respect for Leonard, if he was in the third row at the 50. If I saw him sitting in the stands at that game with somebody, I would say, you know, when a guy might be did he go.

"All right, let's talk about your podcast and we'll do other stuff after that. Isn't it? I mean, listen, we're in a little bit of the same boat where you're doing a national show. I write for national audience. College basketball to me is so weird. Nobody could possibly care less, they could not care less about it. Until this week, and then all of a sudden, everyone comes out of the woodwork. It's a very weird sport that way. It niche, niche sport. Yeah. You know, I did it for me when I do a podcast. I can't do a radio show as a podcast because they can hear me on the radio. Right. So for me, they got to do something different, so you're a purpose. You can write and it's not the same as doing a show. Me, it's the same thing. So I have to do something a little different. And that's where this historical aspect has come in. So last year, with the NCAA, we did the first 40 years. We did from 39 to the bird magic game. So this year, the plan was to do the 80s..

Chris Russo followed by Mike florio, followed by train of thoughts all right here. On the SI media podcast. Hi, joining me now is becoming a smash television hit on first take. It's not why he's here though. He's here to promote a podcast digging up the pass for SiriusXM. He's been on many times, Christopher, mad dog, Russo a big television star. Thanks for making time for me now. How was my 5th child? Everything okay? Yes. Yeah, I appreciate that. And you've been a huge supporter. Yeah, I just came out of nowhere, nor did I ever think this would be on this level. But I have had fun with it. That's at 62 years of age, what the hell? Haven't fun with it, Jimmy. Good to be good to be with you. How you doing, okay? I'm good. I'm good and we'll get into all your serious XM stuff. Everyone knows dog is on SiriusXM Monday through Friday three to 6 eastern and now he's got a podcast on the magic bird 1979 title game digging up the pads. We'll get into all that. Here's one question I keep getting from people on Twitter about first take. They want to know whose idea was it to get you on there? Was that all Stephen a, was it an ESPN executive had it all come down? Stephen a texted me on January 22nd, asked me if you wanted to do come on Wednesday to talk about the bird magic upper magic, the Hall of Fame stuff with bonds and Clemens. And I say, yeah, I mean, I'll come in here and we'll give you a segment, so I went down there on that January 24th when the Hall of Fame, I think, was either the day before, so it had been told that they weren't in the Hall of Fame. I did the segment. We did another segment because it was right after Green Bay lost in San Francisco. So there was some juice with that game with Rogers and Brady almost beaten the rams. And I left, I went to came home and he called me up the next morning and climbing up the next morning at 8 15, and he said, listen, you know, we did a hell of a job. I am interested in hearing anything, you know, down the road. And I said, you know, absolutely, you know, sure, why not? Blah, blah, blah, I got to work it out with the TV with the baseball. Everything else, the next day, the next day.

"No, I'm good. Go ahead. We're the hosts of ridiculous crime. People love true crime, right? The mystery, the intrigue, the human frailty. Totally. But what a lot of us don't like is the blood and the guts and the mayhem. Wait, wait, wait, wait, some of us do like the mayhem. Okay, but let's be real. There's nothing funny about murder. Okay, that's right. Our show gives you stories like the kidnapping of Frank Sinatra junior and the max headroom signal hijacking. Oh, so you mean ridiculous stories like the UK cat shaver and Pablo Escobar's cocaine hippos. Yeah, stories like the doozy stole buzzy, the animatronic whatever he was from Disney World, and the woman whose husband tried to kill her but came back from the dead and surprised him at her own funeral. Yeah, that does sound good. You can find this new podcast ridiculous crime all over the place. The iHeartRadio app, the Apple podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. I don't know how you live. Ridiculous crime. We're taping this on Wednesday, and on Wednesdays now, my life is being dominated by Chris Russo on first take. I know. Have you watched any of this? It's just I can't get enough. I actually watched it today, but I'm more importantly follow you on Twitter. Because I'm getting vicarious joy from your sheer joy of it. I don't know. I'm thrilled that America is getting to see what Chris Russo is all about, but listen, as I've written, either you get her, you don't get it. I mean, so many people are like, this is so dumb. Really, society. They're not looking at it as entertainment value. Right now I mentioned are a mess because everyone's like telling me whether Steph Curry's a top ten player and I'm like, it would be impossible for me to care less is Steph Curry's a top ten. I just want two people to scream and then Russo's earpiece falling out at the end. Did you see that part of it? I did not. During this time. No, you've got to watch the whole clip. You've got to watch the whole clip. Bill Russell, you're telling me you're going to take Bill Russell. Are you not going to take Bill Russell? It was magical. Because Steven. Steven a is known as the loud boisterous argument. Is JV compared to Russo? Is unbelievable. It's the best. I hope you get a lot of love for those tweets because it reminds me a little bit of what was that website that tracked francesa oh, there was. Like fun House. Yeah, that was great. You're becoming like the fun house for the Chris and it's amazing. And I'm addicted to it..

"You prefer stadium like that or do you prefer old school history. Like lambeau arrowhead you know it. It's it's kind of like saying which rather have a porterhouse or filet mignon or new york state. I mean i love them. All arrowhead is amazing in the sense that the plans were drawn in the late sixties right. It doesn't look like the rest of the stadiums but it's a great great field they built. The stains are so close. Lambeau where has the great history and they through the years. They've added on like six seven different times. So lambeau looked like lambeau. That was constructed in the fifties. I i think of the modern stadiums so fi dallas where we were the minnesota or the best because they have certain features. That are a little bit different. They're not cookie cutter stadiums member. We went through. That korean in the seventies where they were building stadiums. cincinnati philadelphia. pittsburgh atlanta. That were they were terrible. Like shoot to reach these. They build them for baseball and football. So i liked the way the new stadiums constructed as i say by my you know only trinity in la minnesota and dallas where the dallas stadium is is now twelve or thirteen years old and every time i walk into just feels big time. It just does. Yeah i let me ask you the most important question of the podcast. Since you brought it up if al michaels goes to dinner tonight are you ordering a porterhouse a fillet or new york strip. Probably new york of your calories. The i love like a revised great. But you know. I don't like everybody i should say i don't like it. I don't i prefer the other cell. Say that yeah actually yet tonight heading to a place raw probably had will pasta but this weekend obviously a big old juicy steak and if you get the strip. What's the top side. You like to have with it because the scientist really what makes it breaks the steakhouses like vegetables noted for that you and i in eagle with the foods have you an. I never talked about your food quirkiness. We had a we had a re conversation was on a thursday night game and he was doing radio for and i was doing television back. Like sixty two thousand sixteen. But i think once. I think i may eat salads so when somebody tells me they have a salad and i say wait a second. That's vegetable i've never had. I've never had a vegetable zero. But i would say you know the best side and you don't get into too. Many places are potato skins. i like potatoes. Yeah not a vegetable rash potatoes. a great. A baked potato is great. But i'm a potato skins below sour cream minute jimmy. That's yeah i can see that. I think the greatest steakhouse side is. Ruth's chris russo. Chris out in la. I assume the sweet potato casserole. Now you will need to go to the dentist after. Check your diabetes. But that is the best side at a steakhouse and toothpick as well. But i think that No i'm met asleep potato guy. I like the regular potatoes. But it's on the board roof of veteran but it also can be do. No you know you'd have to catch it. You do know that yonder steak on the side. Just you didn't know how arquette. I grew up in getting me..
