"Yes, there's there's an insane amount of talent. Here's the best point to how the party is gonna be good, Vince. They were winning games last year on run scoring. They were they were just beaten you up. They were bullying you. They were scoring. Just They were just they were just you could show up to the ballpark and say We're going to score more runs in you today, and there's not you gonna do about it? And they had an elite closer and it got them there. Now, Vince. They've got the pitching to match it. So now we're going to show up. We're going to score 11 runs and guess what? Our pictures are gonna strike out 12, and this team is so well built and they did it the right way, And that's what makes them so likable. They built the farm system. Great. They signed these players. They did that They did the signs of the right time. They did it when it needed to be done. If they did this so well, you almost want to see them with. Well, That's the thing I do want to see them with bandwagon not even know if it's a Phillies championship Phillies postures That didn't happen. Okay, if it's Philly's or Padres, he has to go with the Phillies is my hometown. But Let's be honest where the Phillies are right now. Okay? They need some work. Okay? They need an entire bullpen room. You does a free agent, but like that, even a man, Dave Dee. Yeah, we'll see about that. You convince Philly about that Good luck s Oh, here's the thing is yet you look at you go. Okay. This is your opportunity to Max it out to go direction. Ah, lot of teams don't want to do And here's the thing that's fascinating about it as well. You look at it and a lot of teams. They're scared to spend money, right? But I'm looking around, and I don't know about you, but I see a vaccine that's get distributed and I see Fauci coming out and saying, Yeah, well, I've packed stadiums in September for next year's football season, so That's playoff baseball we're talking about. I mean, if the vaccines going around for at that point we're talking about like 10 months, nine months of the vaccine going around. Are we gonna have open stadiums at that point? Probably What? To what degree? I don't know, but they'll be open. In some capacity. You figured gate revenue then like that's this season, that's this season coming up right now. You know why it's so ballsy to who's in their division. They're going for it. While the Dodgers who habitually when 105 games a year or in their division, coming off a World Series title, and the Padres said, Screw it. We don't care. And they're going for you love. It's just everything about this is just so cool. They're going right at the Dodgers were in your division, and we just don't care. No, we just don't care. You bring up Wait five years. So the Dodgers full of of these players know that note. We're going right after you write when, right when you struck when you finally broke the barrier and won the world serious. Here we come. Everything about it is so cool. Yeah, and one of the guys by the way. I love the top pieces on the team because he's the bat flipping guy that everybody gets bent out of shape about hit the Grand Slam when he wasn't supposed to have got different feelings on that, But that's it's complicated issue, but he's got swag, right? And I think Snell even said he's like they're a swaggy team that I'm going to. And he's right. I mean, that team is gonna have some some attitude, and I am Diego man seriously. No, it's great. It's so much fun, So I love the Padres. I love everything that you're doing. And I am 100% on the bandwagon for that team, and it's just so easy. So with that That's the show. That's AH, Round one of four. I'll be in for J. R for the rest of the week. Who are you? Well, I'm Vince Quinn. You can find me on Twitter. "And he still does that And we never understood that and you know, it's Wayne worked hard on his body, and he lost weight this off, But he didn't work hard at film study and in meetings and in practice and Around the building the little football I Q stuff that you have to do, and then he would translate it to the field. And quite honestly, it would not show up, right? I mean, you know if you can't slide, protect and just a plant Seems they're gonna tee off on you, and they are going to see that right away. And that's what happened in that four. Let me see week for when he first got benched against the Baltimore Ravens. Teams can see that they can recognize that coaches know that players know that and that's what happened to Dwayne. And then when he came back I mean, he played okay? A week and a half ago against Seattle. Okay, And then he goes any parties with strippers and girls And this that the other thing with the girl a. You know what the no mask and then it just becomes an AB. Absolute avalanche. And when you don't play when you don't play it when you play like he did on Sunday night, um you know you're not going to be given another chance. Kind of recover from that. Yeah, And as of now, nobody else in the league is given that chance. We'll see where he ends up and surprise to me. I don't You know it's a slight surprises because he's young and whatever, but you gotta claim that salary right? Even though it's not a huge salary. It is still like $4 million roughly over the next two years that you would have to pay him and absorb. And, you know, like, Who wants that? Especially when they can get him Basically for I don't know, Like the two year minimum when he You know what? When he clears waivers, which he did today, So now you consign anybody, but you don't have to. You don't have to have that contract. You don't have Tonto absorb that contract. Washington Actually has to absorb the contract. Now they're stuck holding the bag on roughly $8 million worth of debt money. That's brutal because here's the thing when you're young quarterback and you have problems usually teams look at you and go. I can fix this guy. But when you've got the bad play and the personal stuff, then teams I mean they're not willing to invest $4 million in a guy that was a first rounder last year, That's just That's really damning. It tells you what the rest of the league thought of him. You know, I mean, I've heard that the people that matter in the Washington building had like a third round pick on him. Our third round. Great. Wow. I mean, you know if that tells you what people thought of now, look, there are a lot of media pundits. Louis, Riddick, and I think Daniel Jeremiah was in on him. Not maybe as much as Riddick. But I really respect what was Riddick and listen. I was wrong to I thought Dwayne was the most talented quarterback. All right for let me put it this way. I thought he was going to be long term the best quarterback in that draft class, and I was woefully woefully wrong. Now I'm not paid to go and study his character and his work habits in his person out with you. I don't have access All that stuff like scouts do so a lot of scouts and a lot of teams found that out. And I think Carolina where Ron Rivera and his staff, which is now here in Washington, I think they also had maybe not as low as the great that I just mentioned that some in Washington had on him. The people that matter, but I was told it was fairly low. So I mean, when you combine all of that And then you know that there are other teams and nobody made a request or nobody even really tried to put together an offer at the trade deadline. No interest at all. And then they're looking and saying, OK, as best we can probably get especially after the stripper incident is like what? 1/7 round pick and maybe a bag of used footballs. That bag of sculpted footballs, You know, just like at some point, we're gonna have to cut the courts and do it now. Now they should have done in a week ago. That's the bottom line. But Alex Smith wasn't healthy. And they didn't trust the kid that came in for Hoskins on Sunday night. Yeah, so the whole thing's a mess, And obviously now they've got the playoffs on the line is they play the Eagles on Sunday night football, So they're gonna be in the spotlight here. It's It's gonna be a crazy game, and I appreciate you taking through everything with Dwayne Haskins. Chris Russell hosted one of 67, the fan of DC Chris, Thanks so much. Yeah, no problem. "Do you have any idea who Robert Tanyon was? Did you have any clue? Did that mean anything to anybody? Oh, yes. Robert Tanyon. Great. Like maybe you were reading some fantasy football stuff You like? Well, he's a tight end with the Packers. So, Yeah, I guess it will be a point. Skye. You know, you try to figure that stuff out, but I go with Aaron Rodgers, and we'll get into that more a little bit later, actually, because joining us now to talk about the opposite of an M v. P. This is an absolute mess of what's going on in Washington is Chris Russell is a host at 167 the fan in D. C. Chris, Welcome to the show. Hey, man. Thank you. Appreciate you. How are you? Yeah, you You're doing good, Happy New year And thanks for coming on because, obviously like Chris, I had to talk to you because I won. I'm an NFC East guy and seeing everything that's going on in Washington. I mean, what is it like down there? It's the definition. Whatever the definition of certifiably insane times have done, Dumpster fire is what goes on around here on a pretty much regular basis. I mean, Um, you know, we Last week was utterly insane. This week has been pretty busy today was kind of a little sluggish by relatives standards like like Nobody got fired. Nobody got cut. Nobody got released. There was no lawsuits that I know of. Although I haven't seen any yet. I mean, it's just you know, it literally is enough. Probably like if you'd like to drink alcohol. You probably cut down like, you know, uh, big old bottle of vodka or something hard like that every night and still not be able to drain your sorrows away that that's what it's like, kind of rooting for this team covering this team being in that building, just having anything to do. With this organization and and Chris. That's the thing right. That's the thing that I always go back to, like, Even 10. Years ago, I had a roommate in college and he was a die hard Washington fan and I would ask him just why, like how were people still able to support the team when it's this dysfunctional all the time? Yeah. I mean, you know, I mean, obviously when, when people You know what? When? When people grow up in a golden era for the organization. That's one thing. It's ingrained, not grew up on Long Island and, you know, I grew up a huge New York I'll understand. But it was easy right there winning four Stanley Cups in a row. When I was in my formative years, then they went through, like a 25 year period where they absolutely suck. And you know, it was just awful. And you know, like I kept wondering why do I still support this team? Why the way and and then you kind of just realize it's in your blood. Right? So I think for a lot of people, obviously it's in their blood. Now, a lot of people. That I've come across. You know, we do this all the time on one of 67 and any radio show that I do. And just around the office is we truly believe there is like you know how they say like a lost generation in terms of Like people that don't get something, and that's truly what it is around here. We feel like most people under 30. Maybe I guess the line would be like 35. Well, they know is horrible losing and horrible dysfunction. So a lot of people attacked out and I understand that I don't. I'm not one of these guys that says you have to stay with the team. You know, just because you grew up liking them. We're just because they were good at one point a quarter century ago. Know if they don't deserve your patriots if they don't deserve your loyalty, your passion I'm happy with them. They deserve to put on or they need to put on a better product to keep you and keep you re engaged. Somehow this organization has kept a bunch of diehards because they're always going to be a die hard, But they have lost a lot of the casual fan. Even this year. It's a little bit better this year. But even this year you could still tell it's just not What it wants used to be. When I first started covering this team, I can tell you that. Yeah, And we're talking with Chris Russell, Who's the host of one of 67 the fan in D. C. And so you get this news with Dwayne Haskins. He gets released. Nobody claims him off of wavers like how did it get this bad this quickly with Dwayne Haskins? Well, you know, look, he wasn't wanted by anybody that knew football operations in the building back in 2019. So let's start there, right. Jay Gruden, Bill Callahan. Um, you know, Kevin O'Connell is now the offensive coordinator for Sean McDaid and the Rams. None of those guys, one of them Kyle Smith, who's you know, essentially their claws I general manager, the son of a J. Smith, longtime Charger General Many they were so out on Haskins. They begged. They pleaded. They stop. They kicked and Dan Snyder picked him and everyone knew it was gonna be kind of You know, in the building. It was going to be a debacle. He was immature. He didn't work hard. Urban Meyer didn't help error admire was truthful. He had a long way to go before he developed as a person and as a football player. We all know he's got a cannon for an arm, but No. Jeff George had a cannon for an arm. And what did they get him? I mean, sure at son. He was successful. Absolutely. I got it. But, you know, for the most part, he was, hey, was a failure of the guys that don't have a passion. Learn and work their butts off and to grind, especially at the quarterback position just aren't going to make it. Tom Brady doesn't become the goat just because Tom Brady, he becomes a goat because he worked his ass off that he worked harder than just about everyone..

"10 that I have C South tandem, the Colts and the Texans. Let's head back to Lucas Oil Stadium and Andrew Smith. And Andrew is not there. So hold on one second, we will get back to Andrew in just a couple of moments. But right now the Ravens taking the opening kickoff and threatening right now at the Jacksonville 36 yard line, so that certainly Justin Tucker territory, So a good start for the Ravens today as they look to pad their win total against the Wolf will jaguars let's go to Craig Heist Right now he has more on that one. Tried acting right now. No score here in the first quarter, And as you mentioned, the Ravens took the ball from their own 25 down just outside the 35 Yard line of Jacksonville. And Jackson throwing a pass in the end zone, and it looks as though it's been picked off, and it's been picked off by Jon Jones. The safety who cut in front of the intended receiver. So turnover right now for The Ravens. But there's a conference between the officials inside the 10 yard line, so I don't know what we're gonna get out of this, but at least for the moment and looked like it was an interception, so we'll see what happens with the Jags taking the ball over here. After the pick my Mark Jackson. All right, Thank you very much, Craig. So I'll keep you posted on that. Meanwhile, a good start for the Falcons. They have first and goal against the Buccaneers. And just not even four minutes into that one. And they have scored. So Matt Ryan connecting with I'm not sure who it is, but we'll get you that In just a couple of moments so tough to figure out the names numbers right here as I'm trying to do everything, so I apologize, but we will keep you posted on that one. Let's go. Meanwhile, to Chris Russell in Washington, where Seattle moved the ball well on Washington on its opening drive, Good afternoon act, Russell Wilson, just on a third and four scrambled for 11 yards inside the launching Tonight, 30 Yard line, actually at the Washington 28. So you just picked up 11 Chris Carson with a 10 yard run on this drive, Washington went three and out on Dwayne Haskins first drive back in the starting quarterback. He did complete two passes. The problem was one was for negative two yards to terror, McLaren and one was for no gain on across her. Just trying to get rid of the football on a third and long so against Dwayne Haskins is two for two. But he's thrown for negative two yards and here Russell Wilson and the Seahawks. The explosive offense is driving already and again, now to the 23 yard line for the Seattle so nothing nothing early on, but Seattle on the move with 10 50 years. 10 10 22 check that left in the first quarter here at FedEx Field. All right, thank you very much, And that touchdown pass went to Russell gauge from a couple of yards out, So ah, good start for the Falcons is the point After is good there, Let's check in and get more on that one from Jeff's L right now. All rich falcons have is good and opening drivers you've seen all year long. They're up seven. Nothing over Tampa Bay 10 34 left in the first quarter and they placed 75 yard drive. It took four minutes. And 25 seconds that Ryan, a five yard touchdown pass to Russell Gates, who also caught a 27 yarder on the Dr Matt Ryan looked awesome on the drive six for six. For 71 yards, including a 23 Our completion to Calvin Ridley and he completed balls. The five different receivers once again. Falcons seven Buccaneer 0 10 34 left here in the first quarter, all right to Bob Stevens in Dallas, Bob Okay, Uh, just started that those school between the account one Niner. Each team has had the ball once the cowboy 40 Niners go swinging out. I want three and out. And the Cowboys trying to put together something that wins for the first time in a while reporting letters that lost two straight by the luminous things trying to get the Apple that winning track and trying to get a quarterback pick Boland's back on the right track. She's at 12 turnovers in the last Happened games they had Injury wise, he Kelly. It is out today with the cap injury. This is the first game that he has missed because of injury in his career, So Tony Pollard starts in his place. But the Cowboys up secondary is bolstered. Today They get the back safety Donovan Wilson. Cornerbacks. Anthony wound Tray von digs. That's ago, the loser day for the 40 Niners. I'm missing. Jason will let the corner he's out with an illness that they do get that Kalon Williams and Manual Mobley looking for the corn time is one the ball a lot today. Brilliant. Oh, we'll return to Jeff Wilson Junior since the Cowboys struggles much against the one, giving up four games of at least 200 plus yards. Washington. Again rolling in the 1st $40 in town boys, no score, But the Cowboys now lot the 40 Niner 19 yard line as they recovered a fumble on a punt. All right, thank you very much. Bob Stevens and Derrick Henry has set a new career high for rushing yards in a season is also scored to make it seven to nothing. And with that we bring in our good friend, researcher extraordinaire Russell Baxter. You could follow on Twitter always had back speedy ex football guru Russell. Good afternoon. Little red Cario. I'm doing just great Happy holidays, and certainly Derrick Henry trying to give Tennessee fans another present is I find him extremely impressive, obviously in the M V P conversation and has been a terrific back, But what I find most intriguing about him is his consistent improvement in the second half of the season, year after year. Especially in this month. How do you explain his success and how he gets stronger year after year in December? Well, it's been very interesting with Derrick Henry this year because the previous two seasons go back and look at the numbers. It's almost like they didn't use them the first half of this evening. Yeah. And, um, it happened two years and road and this year from the get go I want to say he's had at least 18 carries in every game this year. Something to that regard, which was a departure from his earlier top in a earlier seasons in the League of First Year, he really wasn't that the main focus of the attack and so on. But I think they saw what they had in the second half. Of last year and through the playoffs and didn't waste any time And I know he got new contract on all that as well. But you know these power backs, the more You give him the ball? I mean, any runner, but running back will tell you and discussions I've had with it. I'm sure you have. It's well, you know, Once you start getting a feel for the defense and what they want to do, what they don't want to do, And what if they don't feel like tackling you type of thing? Um, you do get stronger as the game goes on, and it's good to see. You know, I'm I'm waiting to see if you know, I think he's probably still has an outside shot. I don't have his carries in front of me. It's been a while since we've had a 400 carry back in this league. Absolutely, That's ah, thing of the past. At this point is we talked with Russell Baxter. Or you could follow on Twitter at backs Be a ex football guru. The Seahawks have kicked the field goal. They've taken a three nothing lead over Washington and you look at what Seattle had has done this year and they started off so strong out of the gate offensively. That offense is taking a little bit of a dip in the past couple of weeks. Any reason why Well, because they're dependent on the offense, and when you depend on an offense inevitably you're going to get yourself in trouble because you're much more. Successful if you have a steady, reliable defense, and they don't and they haven't had that, and they used to have that that's why they were in the playoffs five straight years and One at least one playoff game during that stretch.

"Uh, is probably out. He's listed as questionable with a knee injury, has been riding the bike on the sideline trying to run around. Trying to see if he can go, But we'll see. Don't know if he's going to be able to go for the rest of this game. That would be yet another blow for Tennessee Titans defense that has struggled throughout most of this game. 802 left in the third quarter. It's Pittsburgh. 27 Titans 14. Alright, so still a comfortable lead for the Steelers here midway through the third quarter. Let's Goto Cincinnati or let's go to Christian Better. Who's keeping an eye on the Bengals? And the Browns is there's been a change there, Christian Get rich. The Bengals break a 17 17 ty. It's 20 to 17 After Randy Bullock butter to 23 yard field goal, the Bengals could have going for obviously a touchdown there had a third of a certain goal at the four yard, four yard line job. Earl's Baba Baldev through a J. Green, who dropped the ball in the end zone today had to settle for that 23 yard field goal that captain 71 Yard drive People fled. 17 10 at halftime, but the Browns came out in the third quarter and put together a five minute 75 yard drive, ending with a baker Mayfield too tight in Harrison Bryant six yard touchdown pass. Tied the game at 17 years and Bryant two touchdowns in this game for Austin Cooper, who's out with an illness, But as I mentioned the jingles, come back with a 71 yard drive, get a 23 yard field goal from Randy both to make it 20 to 17. The Browns right now look into third and three of their own. 28 yard line trailing by a field goal 20 to 17 big A lead two minutes left here in the third quarter. All right, thank you very much. Christian. Better checking in on the Bengals. Let's go to Chris Russell in Washington, where the bad news keeps coming for the Dallas Cowboys as we get more from Chris, indeed, rich just a moment ago, Jon Bostic, lowering his shoulder right into the head of a sliding Andy Dalton, who had scrambled out of about halfway out of his own end zone on a third and a first down, run and adult and was not too of course, the ground and was very slow to get up. And now as I watch He is walking off gingerly. They're not even start stopping rich at the blue medical tent that you would normally go into. He is being carted are not hard. It is being walked off The field today are bypassing the blue Medical 10 that they normally do an initial investigation with he's walking two or three staffers. He is walking on his own. But without his helmets, obviously a nasty blow. They, of course, through the personal foul ejection on Jon Bostic. That hasn't changed much quite honestly for the Cowboys there. Scuse me down 22 to 3 with 6 31 left to go in the third quarter here and Benda Nucci is the now quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. If you had then DeNucci and your office boy, I I don't I don't know what to say. But Maybe you got a medical value of the F s. I don't know. But pending Nucci is there. Jon Bostic is being walked off the field down again is injected Andy Dalton heading back right to the Dallas Cowboy. Locker room and 22 to 3 Washington again. 6 31 left to go in the third quarter. Just a messy day all around for adults and the Dallas Cowboys down to quarterback number three right now for the Cowboys with Dak Prescott done for the year, and we'll see how long Andy Dalton will be out. But that was a vicious, vicious that it took on knocked off his helmet. So you could just imagine. The force of which is Ah. You know, Dalton gave himself up sliding. And it did not stop Mr Bostick from Ah, lowering his shoulder and taking off the helmet, among other things, So a rough hit, and it results in Andy don't leaving and his. Ah, Chris just mentioned a couple of moments ago. Take digging right to the locker room for evaluation. Let's go Tornado right now in New Orleans, where the Panthers have tied things up once again, what has been a very entertaining game late third quarter? Yes, it is rich in 24 a piece. With eight ticks to go to end. The third stands. The latest two scores. This ain't travel 15 yards and 13 plays consuming 6 53 off the clock. The final play was a 41 yard field goal by will lunch. Putting the Saints on top. 2040 17. The Panthers come right back, traveling 75 yards and a place for 16 off the clock. Chris Samuels finishes the last five yards on a run. Extra point was good, So we're not up a 20 for a piece with eight seconds to go in the third quarter here in the Superdome, Erasmus halls, very own Curtis Samuel with a touchdown to tie things up. For the Carolina Panthers as they're even at 24 right now, late third quarter. Jacksonville and the charges this afternoon in L, a, both with one win on the season, But things at least looking up the Ella with Justin Herbert at quarterback. He's been off to a fine start Checking in right now is Kris Haze with a chuck a CZ rather with a preview, Chuck. Good afternoon. Thanks so much rich And yeah, it's an interesting afternoon in Los Angeles, says that Jack's coming at one in five against the home L. A Chargers that one and for the best news for the Chargers is that they're coming off a bye week, so that means that Melvin Ingram, Joey Bosa will be back in prime form..

It's not on here has there's another winter movie that is on my. Windsor Amazing. Winner. Room as is on my list. To. Get them three. Yeah. Let's dominate number three. Okay. I got just honorable mention ropes. Because there were so many bad ones Two honorable mentions the secret ingredients with Aaron K. Hills badmouth cookie movie. Movie Awful it deserves okay. deserves. Some recognition here it's that bad and then love in the forecast unfortunately sending Busni Chris Russell that movie was just trash it was not good. It was charming. Charmingly. Bad. That's accurate. Charmingly batted charm the bat bad right off of. But don't worry Chris Russell, you're still in here. Number three nature of love with two friends of the pod Chris Russell Amelia. You're up in a movie about glancing, which should have never been even a figment of of an idea. The was so so bad on. So many levels is the cook also in love with the guy, is it not the Cook is the Butler? Amelie Europe's got a she's pregnant and the movie they're hiding her pretty much from the neck down. There's a bear involves somewhere. It's bad. But the bad certified dumpster fire my best of did it really Baked Bear Oh. So so bad bear the cartoon bear. Oh, my Gosh it's bound. Here. For? Number three for me is love under the Olive Tree boys and girls. This is a movie about all of oil. A. Did Not like it I don't like olive oil. Don't WanNA movie about Love Olive Oil. Oil. Fine but not for some Brits and Pepper Parmesan Cheese. Yes, a full movie about all of oil. Dot interest that movie had a chance because it had competing families Are Usually Fun and fall all at some point. I wasn't big on it but this is number three for me not in don't not a fan of the also no, go. No Go. Number two, number two I'd love to. Love in the forecast comes into number two four. Guys you have. A Guy who is patronizing to the meteorologists they they make a mockery of weather and science and that girl still getting her and degree you'll ganger degree while being a weathergirl movies next level raining one place to not the other. It's bad. It's bad to me just andy was built like ever bull not bad. To. Number two for me how to train your husband hand. I've made it. I feel like I can't believe that's not number one honorable honorable mention for me I just I get that it's an acquisition but unlike the other one, the bad day chronicles those two movies are both terrible and what you guys may have that other one in your list somewhere down. Day Chronicles to me was so terrible that it was funny. It was so out of the box different I can't believe they aired it whereas this movie was just do just. Awful movie like patronizing absolutely about puppies and husbands being the same bad. But also just the idea that she's this rider and. All that was terrible. It's it is if it wasn't for number one on this list, which we will talk about feeling we're all unanimous number one. No, we're not because you've already said my number one but if it was number one on this, as this would have been an all time bad movie while still is. In a number two number one for me a really interchangeable them both equally. but I'll go with this one just because I want number one like this one is like one that I think it was also an acquisition doesn't fit number number one for me is one that sh like is the biggest disappointment of the year. So number two is love on Harbour Island Oh Musso bad I hate marcus with every fiber of my being here of and the fact that Marcus ended up with not just the leading guerlain's from you but any girl that exist is a crime. Against Humanity Wow all right I hate marcus he's the worst character ever to be invented. The whole, the whole harbor, the whole thing, the biggest, the biggest crime of this movie that we didn't get enough of the what the guy who is trying to take over her TV show that's the biggest crime he was the best part. A. Aside from that I hated this movie I hated, Marcus. The every fiber of my being the only reason this movie didn't rank in the worst is because of the fall element of. Har It's follies hard and maybe it was just where I was at spiritually when I saw this. Just, for me, it saved it for being.

"Michelle has just gone in. We now have the weight. The point after attempt by Nick broke right now, Rich with 5 23 to go point after such down That was not the way the ends are malicious. Nobody shot anybody. Uh, the endzone militia is here so they don't want a few things are normal right into my report. Nice going, guys. So the pictures later 20 to 11 point after touchdown tending 5 23 to go rich on cue, and it will be a very big point After guess it'll make it a 10 point game at this point with Just under six minutes left or so, Um, Okay. So now the Vikings have just scored a big play. Let's get the details of that one from Eric Nelson. Yeah. The Minnesota Vikings have cut the gas now to 29 18 green Band top 13 53 to go in the fourth. Kirk Cousins just connected with Adam feeling who ran out of the slacks position on the left side, and he got deep in the end zone and cousins laid one in perfectly 37 yard touchdown throw. They go for the Duce. Calvin Cooke runs it in for two, and the Vikings now are down by just 11. There's still plenty of time left in this game. But the real question is. Can the Minnesota defense slow down? Aaron Rodgers and that Green Bay Packers offense because Rogers has been brilliant 25 36 for 265 yards and three touchdowns passes. In fact, Rogers now is career 367 touchdown throws all time, He has moved into number seven on the NFL's career touchdown passing with you just passed. Eli Manning on his go to guy this Sunday. This opening Sunday of the NFL 2020 season has been Devante Adams, the receiver out of Fresno State. 13 catches 116 yards and two scores for Adam's hey caught the most recent Rogers touchdown throw that was from one yard out also Marquez Valdas Scant. Ling has a touchdown catch and 84 yards receiving. But he's also got rich, too horrible drops in this game, and if he were toe have held onto those balls, the score might be worse. And if Minnesota mounts a comeback Packer fans are going to point to those drops is being the reason why the Vikings have stayed in it. Right now. It's 2019 18 Green Bay on top 13 53 to go in the fourth here in the Twin cities, All right before we get the Chris Russell J. K. Dobbins has just scored for the Ravens now blowing out the Browns, 37 to 6 13 minutes. Love there. Now let's go to a FedEx Field and Chris Russell, where the Redskins have made this one a game. It's been an interesting one. They line up here for a potential game time field goal from Dustin Hopkins from 37 Yards out. It is good, so we have a 17 17 game inside of Just the first minute off the fourth quarter here in Washington, the Eagles were up 17 to nothing. In this game, Zachary touchdown, Dallas got her to touch down. But then the Carson went started throwing picks. One Jimmy Moreland, one to Fabien Moreau. Washington was able to cash in first that cuts down past the Logan Thomas from six yards out from the Wayne Haskins and Peyton Barber. One yard touchdown run kind of taking the world with Adrian Peterson in this offense, and then again, Dustin Hopkins now officially a 38 yard field goal for the game tying kicks with 17 17 year in Washington. 14 15 left to go in the fourth quarter. Rich all right, It was 17 all in Jacksonville, Rodrigo Blankinship change that. Let's get more. From Brian Shay able Yeah, You're right, which called you pull ahead with Rachel Blankenship cooking in the chip shop. You go and look like the Jags. You had made some huge defensive plays, and that's one, including a pork down stop. Down near the goal line, also an interception while Philip Rivers and culture driving appeared to pick off the rivers on 1/4 down, Caleb on Jason picked it up. Was taken off the board as a defensive holding move the sticks for Indianapolis and meanwhile, where the JAG Wass Just moments ago, James Robinson, But young was pull ahead right now. "Fourth quarter is about to start rich, fast moving game. Patriots leader 14 3 absolutely at Lamar Jackson just throwing another touchdown pass. But before we could go to Baltimore, let's go a little further south down. I 95 to land over where Chris Russell is standing by as the Reds of Washington football team. I keep doing it, the more the more I get into this day, the more I keep coming close to saying the former nickname The Washington football team, though, has scored again to make it quite a game here, Chris Yeah, put another dollar in that jar at the Washington football team, capitalizing on a second Carson Wentz interception, the picked by Jimmy more when they calm the people's corner. Well, He was big for Washington, jumping in front of a Philadelphia wide receiver, picking it off and then returning in about 30 yards into the red Zone for Washington. Eventually, they would punch it in a Peyton Barber one yard touchdown run on third down after a couple of pass plays that got them inside the five yard line, so Washington has scored on both. Carson Wentz interceptions for 14 point. There are only 14 points will help you started off course with a 17 to nothing. Lead exact Earth's five yard touchdown pass it Dallas Goddard 34 Yard touchdown pass into Josh Elliott 38 yard field goal so again. Philadelphia is still leaving 17 14 over Washington here, but the Washington football team has scored 14 unanswered points at this point early in the third quarter after Yeah, You know, Chris, if they don't come back to win, and if they can keep it like this, at least, I think this would be something for this team to build on in Ron Rivera's debut. It did not start well, but the fact the fact they're showing fight right now and and mounting a comeback. I think it's something positive for them. I have no doubt absolutely on DH, you know, look, it helps to get turnovers. That's number one, and we all know what turnovers generally lead too well for this Washington offense rich. It hasn't always lead to touch down like it has today. Again. That's your turnover is leaving directly to 14 points. Usually they squander those type of opportunities and they'll settle for a field goal. Come away with another turnover or they'll come away with no point even though they have good field position That's been a hallmark of Washington struggling offenses over many, many, many years..

"Overall, the event orders 1 53% of the draws in Game one. Darnell, nurse end of the hot zone down the left wing to the corner with a sharp angle shot tore the net struck wide by Crawford. Oilers get it back in the Hawk's own David along the right boards, books it down to side the net. And Crawford turned the puck away. Here's nurse chasing the puck down in the Oilers, known along the near boards. I'll pass up the left wing at center ice Dry site, a leading scorer in the NHL season over the hot line. Nice back checking effort, thereby side to lift his sticks. Attains could get the puck ahead to Kuba leaked. Put it in over the oil or line along the left wing boards intended to get that to tape that Ethan Bare took the puck away for the Oilers. He's now standing between the circles in the Oilers own as the oil get a line change. There's a bear with a pass up ice that reflects down into the right corner. Hawk's own. Alex Chase on there. Got the puck behind the Hawk. Nifty James Neil winds around Chris Russell left point fires. And that reflects in on Crawford. He made a nice save years ahead. Man passed a cane over the Oiler line down the slot. He shoots and Koskinen goes down with a butterfly. Say Thank Yu gotta trump on the arm. "To what he thinks about the franchise that he plays for and probably wouldn't mind playing for a contender at at this point in his career but if you are Bruce Allen or Dan Snyder you don't tweet out and I know that they don't really have that much it seemingly that much <hes> you know day to day responsibility or involvement in their social media accounts counts clearly. We've seen examples of that <hes> over the last couple of years but you've got to go to Josh Norman. You and you've got to say look. You can't do this dude we were. We were on the hook next year right now. Dead cap money if we six million the year after that's three million we're we're about to pay you. Your cap hit next year is fourteen and a half million dollars. We need you by the way and they do. Josh Norman is a good enough player to you. Want on your defense. He's not an elite player. He hasn't been a great player since signing that five year seventy five million dollar deal there are lots of reasons for that. He's better zone corner than he is. A cover man corner he just is and the Redskins have played a Lotta man with him over the years. He was better in Carolina when they had you know a lot of zone coverage behind by the way a very good pass rush all right so you haven't had that here so that's hurt him a little bit. I loved his playmaking ability at times his forced fumbles. You know in key spots especially that first year but you do have to have a sit down with him after something like this to say. Are you gonNA continue to do this. Let us know now. This is what you're really interested in. If this is a priority for you to you know satisfy that rush junkie gene that you have over and over again that's fine. Let us know but we'll have to release you today. We cannot take the risk of being on the hook for this obviously again. Let me repeat. This assumes that it's not in his contract that it's not something that he is contractually actually prohibited from doing <hes> so if if he's not you've got to take that approach with them. I think you do anyway. <hes> few things <hes> also redskins related you see what Chris Russell reported reported the other day about the Redskins <hes> for for those that missed it <hes> Chris Russell <hes> J._F._k.. One a six point seven <hes> reported that the redskins that forty employees have left the redskins since Brian Lump. Lav Amina got fired last year late in the season. We're not talking about football players or coaches or anything like that by the way they've had several coaches you know leave as well for lateral moves as we know <hes> he continued he said had quote. Nobody wants to work there. It's terrible culture closed quote later on he said <hes> <hes> where is it <hes> the part about Bruce Allin <hes> everybody thinks thinks here it is quote from everything that I hear there is a split between the coaching staff and Bruce where the coaching staff kind of thinks. It's all a joke in there. Wondering what the hell are you guys doing closed quotes so that was from Chris Russell. You know a friend of ours. "Every one of seven stops by Cam ward in that second period. The Blackhawks outshot the Oilers twelve seven again hawks when he just thirty nine percent of the face offs. They do have twelve blocks in the game ten hits stick around for the post game show. We'll get post game for action from Edmonton. Also have a visit with Drake could Gelo, obviously going home today. But in the next game he'll be facing off against one of his linemates from North Dakota. When could ULA won the final four most outstanding player. Besides nick. Schmaltz Brock best series in with Vancouver. He'll talk about that reflect on that championship here in two thousand sixteen to one Edmonton. Let's head back to third period action in Edmonton, John Wiedeman and Troy Murray. Thank you very much Christiane. The boys are on the ice surface will have third period action here tried the thought into my mind starts thoughts are want to do. And then they pop out just as quickly, but this one St. for a little while. You're the Edmonton Oilers when you're looking at this game. You see that your team didn't score on that five on three advantage to start the second period in the Blackhawks outshot the Oilers in the second in really in some ways control the tenor of play. I think you're a little worried that you let an opponent hang around. This could be one of those games where they leave the ring tonight thinking man, we had them, and we let them off the hook. Well, it was damage control for the hawks to finish that first period to start the second period. They did a pretty decent job. They've got to power play goals against them in this game. But could have been worse underway here in the third period. Jason for the right wing boards. Slapped off his stick with an overhand swiped by Duncan Keith. Resemble the lacrosse shot. Puck knocked out the with a high stick this'll bring the face off back in the hawk zone. The circled awards left only. Ten seconds gone. Again, Ken, Hitchcock, Scott cleft bomb and Larson was talking about some cleft bombs numbers before what cleft bomb was with the Oilers playing their goals against was two point nine without a three point eight also a goal worse. Wow. They only got six wins in twenty one games without class bomb. It says a lot six twelve and three. Time that he was out of the lineup. Chris Russell was missing for a fair amount of that stretches well inside the near corner and the Oilers zone Kuku pucks the puck behind the Edmonds net. Larsen will take it on the far corner snap it up ice. Cam ward has to come out of the hawk net for the far corner. Plays the puck behind the net to the airport for Kuku was into his skates. But they made a nice recovery. Got to the puck. Got a ticket jeweler try to clear this own taken away by Lucci each Feb high slot mcdavid rolls into the right circle. Fires once and then twice since later. Cuckoo disrupted that both times Kuku banks pass up the right wing caves hawk line hands. It off the king coming by. He'll up a lazy won into the right wing corner. Oilers on Chris Russell, spins it away up the right the left wing boards and then Lucci. Shot ahead. This is off of debris skate to center ice bradey spun the puck into the hawk zone. Nice play by dalstrom the muscle it away and get it up the left wing to center ice to break. It's got a dare debrincat crossing. The oiler line into the high slot. Let's go shot not much on it. Slides into the right wing corner dominant. Cahoon pokes it behind the net left quarter Strom out the bullet point it goes to the dolphin. Any pumps a shot in on goal Talbot on his knees at the top of the crease takes off his chance to be holds on face off to his right now Talbot talking to his defenseman Kevin rebel standing beside in. There you go back to that save. And I said that was a confidence builder. Save on Jonathan look rock-solid ever since that save and just that one save could switch the mentality side of it completely. The opposite look shaky hasn't let any rebounds hasn't. Had anything bounce off him? Like, we saw the first part of that first period. We just didn't look like he had a lot of confidence in his game goal is the weird profession. One little boost to confidence like that big save on Jonathan tapes. Could certainly go a long way, and it seems like it has a nice and call here against the oiler staying on that point during the intermission. I had an opportunity to talk to Mark spector who works in the Edmonson media and follows his team closely as you know, and I asked him I said assist Cam Talbot's best game in a while. He goes, oh, yeah. He says the best in a long time. And I said to see the kind of goal tender that he'll have two great periods and him have that one period where he lets him that really bad goal. And he said, it doesn't seem like he's gonna be that way. Tonight. Use of what you just never know. This has been kind of a weird season that way, so I guess we'll see inside the zone along the left boards drew jar CARA. Dollas chips it down into the far corner hawk zone. Not far enough racing teeth waves it behind the net of the left wing. I had to break it at center ice lost the puck down the got it. Back took a hone at center ice on the right wing tried to backhanded across the rink. Puck ends up in the Oilers zone, prevail. Moves it out the nugent-hopkins suppo- yard with hostile line. Long wrist shot from the high slot this the net puck taken back by Slater Kuku headman pass to Anisimov over the oiler lied to Saad along the left wing boards. He tried to flip it off the glass in behind the oiler. But this one ends up in the protective netting. So they'll get a whistle. They'll face it off at center ice, just outside the Lula. I'd like to see the Blackhawks Chelsea Oilers a little bit more. But it seems like the orders are pre decent job of clogging up the neutral zone of that's all about can't Hitchcock and his structure. It's always been that way. They've got a rule that if you don't make a play. And if you don't have a play inside your own end of the ice within the first couple seconds. It gets out into the neutral zone. You regain your structure. This is a well disciplined team can't Hitchcock one of the best minds as I said are a little bit earlier in the game hockey knows it. So well speaks it extremely well. Now inside the hawk zone now Gusta sent to a loose puck feted up the right wing Cain oiler line. Tried to hand off the side coming by this bad at the center ice by cleft. Bob Slater Kuku to the oiler line. Got ahead of the puck is taken away by Kassian back through center ice hotline. Long wrist shot from the high slot. Deflects off of Phibro up off the glass behind the net. Puck is spun around my Saad kept in by Russell along the right boards, but down Zack Kassian right corner. Spun back around now to Russell right point since it down to Cassie in back of the hawk net. Fed up the slot. And this hit the stick of nurse. It ends up at center ice. Cain was hustling and their nurse kept going. Away gotta dry cycle over the hawk line to read or write circle put it on.

Twenty three seconds on the power play put the puck behind the hawk net. The key he'll carry out key for the past. They hit the side short of the oil line lost. It got it back to Tacoma steps. Over the line left point tried to spin it down the boards and does to the corner and Isam off he'll wind. Around behind the net to the right boards. But he lost it Benning takes the puck and clears it down as the Oilers come to full strength. So the hawks one for two on the citgo fueling good PowerPoint shots on goal. So far for the hawks. They scored on their second one four for the tonight or so a good start to this period for the Blackhawks Hayden chips the puck off the right wing boards down into the Oilers zone. Chris Russell will slap it back down ice. They're going to the icing dalstrom behind the hawk net avoids a check from Kassian. The puck is in his feet dalstrom pushed off of it. "I look at this stretch and I said to myself, man, this is going to be tough on cleft bomb on Larsen on nursing thinking play twenty seven minutes. I'm looking at this is going to be awful, Chris Russell. They just going to be tough on those defensemen and I didn't really consider toughest is gonna be on Connor mcdavid go for that ice time and. No, there's no relaxed like defense like Ryan Suter was asked him about how much you played because he would play time and he said that there you can sometimes find twenty seconds where you can coast on shift, maybe not twenty, but some you can find a few seconds where you can like there's no coasting for this guy, and he's getting the best match up every night and he's got speed is his weapon. Again, the power play goal last night. He blew past the Winnipeg defense scores. I mean, if they don't make the playoffs, we're gonna have the same debate again. This year can a guy out of the play offs win the MVP. There is again nothing in the definition. I get all that. I'll tell you this. I really wrestled with it last year and if he's in on ninety percent of their goals like he is right now. I mean, he's always put that franchise on his shoulders. What's higher than putting the franchise on your shoulders live. Over your head gorilla pressing it at a real twelve times. I know it's four one in the second. They're out of the game. They're out of the game and MC, Dave, and they've got their home opener on Thursday. And you know that's going to be nasty. Like you're sitting there thinking, if you're one of the authors nearly as an organization, like we're losing four one tonight, our fans are gonna kill us on maybe the only home opener where they don't do introductions of everybody like you're sitting up if they lose that game against it. And then he just puts the team on his back guerrilla presses then that's it. We'll say, gorilla them and now everyone's going to go into that building. There's another like, I can't wait to see what he does next. They're going to be so wide up and so excited. I was on the that is an MVP the on the wheel podcast. If you weeks Redwings and we were talking about all star game. So we got a devolved all-star game. And one of the things that I would love to see. I think we may have briefly talked about this last year on the podcast. Kind of gave it as touchstone, of course, Carmody was going to be in San Jose at the all star game, but a lot of players who might be the fastest players in the NHL might not be at the all-star game. I love the idea of Connor mcdavid taking on all challengers for the race. So whether it's Dylan, Larkin, entrees, Athens, see you, Jordan Cairo. Like whomever bring bring the specialist Sodano jars shot versus everybody else's shot. The guys that can hammer it, bring those guys on. So they met up in the all star game. The amount of voted in his all stars or had the magic wand waved over them for all stars. But just to see Konta mcdavid take on someone who has an individual skill that is comparable, whether it's Nikki lers comparable skills at the kind of gave with the feet gimme that race I've written about this and ask for this for years. Now, like one of the things I really liked to boat was when Dylan Larkin won a couple years ago. I said, okay, now we're giving you a chance to. Chase my Gartner, Gartner at the records that said, here's the record the all time record and they give Larkin the chance and Larkin beat it. And Gartner said, wait a second. I like that like you could do it like WWE style. I'm I'm having. here. This fast up. Shea Weber, for example, this year probably won't be an all star because he's not gonna play, shoot, bring them out there, bring them into San Jose and they're changing this year..

"Want the publicity they say the government pass this law they're forcing us to do what's very interesting to me in terms of future outlook is what's going to happen with the supreme court case the solicitor general's office under the trump administration filed a petition with the court it was basically just an amicus brief so friend of the court brief arguing why this particular case should be moot in light of the new legislation and we'll see if that impacts the course if they decide to dismiss the case or if they decide to qualify their opinion based on this new information that they have but i think it was certainly surprising that congress as we know doesn't really do anything was able to get its act together even if it was what amounts to a footnote in a large piece of legislation to address a very live legal problem all right we'll keep an eye on it ben yellen thanks for joining us thank you and that's the cyber wire thanks to all of our sponsors for making the cyber wire possible especially to are sustaining sponsor silence find out how silence can help protect you using artificial intelligence visit silence dot com and silence is not just a sponsor we actually used their products to help protect our systems here at the cyber wire and thanks to our supporting sponsor vm ware creators of workspace one intelligence learn more at vm ware dot com the cyber wire podcast is proudly produced in maryland out of the startup studios of data tribe with their co building the next generation of cyber security teams and technology our show is produced by prince street media with editor john patrick social media editor jennifer ivan technical editor chris russell executive editor peter kilby and i'm dave bittner thanks for listening.

"Personally if i had been present it i would have gone public with exactly what i was hearing from the cia but having said that i understand that president obama did not want to appear partisan he didn't want the public to get information that they could discount that republicans would immediately pounced on as trying to sway the election and they would presumably tried to discredit the cia so he was he was playing a very delicate balancing act jane schwartz do petitions really make a difference or are they more of a fundraising ploy than anything else a gene petitions do make a difference but standing alone just like demonstrations they don't really do enough a yes what you need to do is make a ruckus peacefully demonstrate peacefully signed petitions yes of course but you also an active citizenship requires that you contact your members of congress there you go to their district offices that you phone them the you write letters to them that you even if you can go to washington when they are in session and visit their offices in washington another was active citizenship requires from you more than just sitting behind a computer or just standing on a corner holding a sign it requires political engagement political involved all the way up to par perhaps even running for office is the last question chris russell the georgia's sixth is reportedly the most expensive house election ever where was most of that fifty five million spent if local tv stations are the primary beneficiaries is there anything they could or should be doing to protect the public interest against big money influencing elections.
