We've got a question from Doug and Mary Jo. They say that a friend gave them a used stove. They took out of a rental property that they bought. It's a whirlpool oven. It looks like it's in great shape and the stove an oven work rate, except Except that the oven smokes and smells like hot candle wax. They've looked. They don't see any food or other stuff on the oven walls or elements. They've wiped out the inside with a wet rag, But smoke still pours out of the hole through one of the stove elements and the oven door. Also, if it's open, so they wondered if you have any Ideas on what the problem might be. It's happened many times in the past. I've lived the experience if you store a product Like a stove and you stored anywhere where there might be a mouse. It will get into the insulation in the door like in the liner. There's insulation in the walls of an oven. It will get into that make its nest And then when you take it out, and you turn it on, you cook the mouse. As gross as it may sound. You cook the mouse. So you've got to remove the screws, polo, whole inner liner of the kitchen range out. Replace the insulation, which is nothing but that cotton Batten installation you get from the local hardware store. And replenish the insulation and get rid of the fried mouse. All right. Let's see if we can help out Sheree, who writes in her question, Joe, she says Joe, hoping you can help resolve the problem with our refrigerator. That water's got to get to a drink pan underneath the refrigerator, and that drain is plugged. So you can take the wall off inside the freezer against the back wall. Get to the drain system that way. Use a turkey baster filled with hot water. Stick it in there. Squeeze the Bob do that three times at least or you can attack it from the back underneath. You gotta pull of refrigerator out. Get to the back. You'll see the drain tube, stick some soft wire in there or use a pop bottle and suck it out. But you've got debris that's plugging up. The drain line. With the Dallas Mavericks no longer playing the national anthem before games and you know those who are defending it are saying, Hey, you know you don't do it in your job, So why should we have to do it in ours? Well, you know, we don't make the money you guys do either, and It's simply a way of showing gratitude for that. Your country. Why would you oppose that? The things wrong? Of course. There are way into fix them right? Like we always have, but a great uh I don't think we're gonna settle that today and we can talk about it with you. But It's just going to continue to be a frustration for many of us who respect the flag and expect to see it honored by those who we cheer for in an athletic competitions because we have so much respect for it. As Americans as well. All right, It's it's good to have you here, and I wish we had more time with Joe Welch. I'm telling you because he has. He's got a couple of stories from China about being in meetings and the meeting breaks up in a woman comes in and takes all the name tags off the table. And then they go downstairs to get in a limo that they had to go to the airport. And the limo wasn't there anymore. It's gone, so don't ask me it's you know, the arrived has just taken away. That's what they do over there. They have total control of the government of everything, and they do run everything. And they want that first strike capability here in the U. S. They have the capability. There was historian Forbes Ah piece done by James Conca last June. It's entitled China has first strike capability to melt U. S power grid with electromagnetic pulse weapon. We hear about them flying around Mars? Yeah, I'm not surprised, And who knows what they're doing up there with the long range goal is of of exploring the Red planet. Anyway, we'll take your phone calls now at 808 590957 Incidently. My wife has returned. My wife Karen has returned from Beaumont and Troy after her second shot, and Chris Randwick, are you there? I want to bring in here real quick. She got her second dose of the vaccine, and I just want to tell you she looks really good with that third arm. It's good now, she said. A lot of people there that she spoke with. We're all talking about. You know, what's all the fuss about? Let's let's just get this done and over with and and move on, you know. And there's no concern and here's the other thing. The people who were getting the shot and she's included in this are feeling no ill effects from it. Well, that's great on there. It sounds like if you do get those those You know whether you're nauseous or you have headache or you've got a fever and the chills or whatever The good news is it sounds like it only lasts about 24 hours. And then you're right back to, you know, feeling good again, so If you do feel anything of the good news is it's It's very short term. Not exactly and, you know, we'll see what your advice Formacion. I get it or not. Absolutely Okay, That's that's my leaning, too. And I'm signed up for the Oakland County Health Department and So the court hearing about that. I think you've got a, uh, you know, at least somebody you could look at two right in your own home. We've got it. And now that she's got her second, you know, Karen will be and Karen's a nurse. So she she's got all the answers for you. Yeah. Help. That's that's right. And she said the people there were all talking about friends of theirs who had the shot and we're not getting sick and didn't have any reaction whatsoever. And so the symptoms apparently a very mild, so fret, not it Z gonna be okay. Hey, I just got some news. I just want to do this because I can complain here. Okay? Are you ready for this? All right. So my truck. My truck had to go into the shop. It's 2019. And I mean, it's a big deal. Big old truck. Okay, It's a Sierra Denali. So it zah top of the line truck. And I bought the extended warranty on it. Of course when I got it a couple years ago, Okay, so the market's still in effect, So I've had this little problem that popped up suddenly on the truck. The running boards keep coming out. After I turn the vehicle off, they just extend and they go back him to extend and go back in. So I took it in. I took it in and it's under warranty, right? Yes what it's not covered under the warranty. They claim that the company the company says, no, We don't cover that. I'm sorry. There's there's rushed down there is like, Well, what do you expect? The running boards underneath the car, of course, is gonna be rushed. They get snow. They have water in there. They got everything. It's zoned. It's where the controls are. Set my fall. You built the truck that way, so they're telling me they're telling me you're gonna pay that mis repaired? Guess what? You know what the price tag is? No, no, I don't know something crazy. $775.0. I'm not getting this. Are you putting me I could buy a preferred spot in the covert line for that kind of money, right? No doubt, man. But that's true for 75 bucks because the running boards keep opening on their own, And it's not covered by the war. The bumper to bumper warranty. Is that new or is that just design flaw in the truck? I have no idea. It's It's something wrong with my truck, the bed as Beast. And and it's believe me. You can't you can't drive it like that. Because you're driving down the road. The running board start going out while you're moving, and that's not good. No, no, You don't want that know exactly. So, anyway, I just wanted to get that out there and let you know it. The automakers and their their policies. Are you better ask questions before you set up for this all I'm saying, OK, right? And I'm gonna do that. I'm a next vehicle to absolutely Already talk to you later, Chris..

"Right. Welcome back into the show. Everybody By the way, if you're if you're wondering why we continue why I continue to emphasize this climate change story with the new administration. It's It's really quite simple. I'm concerned about where Joe Biden and his his appointees. They're going to take us on this whole thing that's based on Based on bad information. Quite frankly, man does not cause the temperature of the planet to rise and fall were way too small. Theo to do that. We can't possibly have that kind of effect on this, uh, on the climate of this planet when we've got that thing called the sun that That dwarfs everything. But at any rate, the new Commerce secretary nominee Gina Ray Mondo, Said she is open to raising taxes on the middle class, saying quote We need funds. President Joe Biden's climate agenda. We need funds now why? We need funds for that. I'm not sure, but we'll see. Her comments came in a nomination hearing before the Senate Commerce Committee. Earlier this week, and she said, We do need to meet the climate change challenge and we need funds for improved infrastructure. Better roads, safer roads, safer bridges, which also creates jobs, where we heard that before. Uh, fix the damn roads. So Raimondo, Uh says when asked about Transportation secretary nominee Peter Boot boot a judge's proposal the gas tax to raise money. For the spending initiatives, bigger gas tax, So you're gonna pay for it. Would look this a quote I would look to balance those interests than work as a piece of the president's team. Ra Mondo, The Rhode Island governor also said the U. S will need to invest in innovation and technology in our manufacturing sector. She didn't underst really explain what that meant. Stated objective of quote, re shoring factory jobs to the U. S. That sounds like former President Donald Trump. Quite frankly, the number of U. S manufacturing jobs a 12.3 million back in December. Not much change from four years ago, but you look two decades ago and we had 17 million, so we're way down from that number of manufacturing jobs. So there you go. That's just some of what's going on. Raimondo is proposing. We don't know how much or in what form this will be, but we've gotta have more taxes to fight climate change. Yeah, we gotta We gotta have more money paid to the government and that will that will really help us. Lower the temperature of the planet. Oh, of course it will. That makes all the sense in the world. Any logical person could see that. Why can't you Frank and any rate Let's get to your phone calls at 808 590957. When you call that number, you'll be you'll be talking to Cameron Knox are Rookie of the year A. Roy If you will hear on the Frank Beckmann show his first year doing that the job of producing the program back in our studios. He's He's working with Rich Lisinski there, Chris Run! Wick is on duty at his home quarters is our executive producer. And all of you. Thank you for being with us on the program each and every day. It's so good tol. Have you hear it? 808 59. 0957 and we are going to take your phone calls the rest of the way till the noon hour. We're coming up on a break here at the bottom of the hour, and then we'll talk some more and give you a chance to get your thoughts. You know what's going on in Washington what you're expecting from Governor Gretchen Whitman and I what you'd like to hear from her. And what you know, tomorrow will gather and and talk about it here on the show, too, because we'll be doing it with a lot of guests from Lansing. Uh and we'll be doing the show remotely via stream yard. More on that coming up, but hopefully we'll have everybody will have everybody on video tomorrow two for the show from nine until noon. As for right now, we're just going with our standard phone calls the rest of the way this hour 808 590957 and thank all of you for for being here with us. And we look forward to hearing the rest of the day. What new proposals were coming forth from the new administration as well because we're going to see very aggressive agenda. You know that and one that Joe Biden president Biden has his promised is coming to us. So don't be surprised by anything being proposed out of Washington. This is going to be an agenda that believes in big government. The left now controls all three layers of Of decision making in Washington, the House, the Senate and the White House, and so the left is going to implement its rather radical agenda. Many of us think it is very radical. And you could say Oh, no saving the planet from climate change. That's not radical. That's a good idea. I'll accept. There are radical ideas that go into it for the supposed purpose of protecting us all from annihilation and this planet from disappearing, which it is not going to do any time soon. Because at least not because of climate change now, some other reason. Okay. You could make that argument that God has got other plans for us. I understand, But it's not gonna be because of man made climate change ain't gonna happen. So just be prepared for more of that, because it's coming out of Washington. This is, uh, Joe Biden is further to the left. He has. He's totally caved to the left wing of the party. Some say it's because he's got Susan Rice so close to him. The The real brains, they said behind the Obama administration, and that she's having a big impact on him could be. We don't know that we're not there, but we will follow all those stories and watch with interest. What's happening, obviously because it affects us. And then when you when you hear that, the new commerce secretary Is already saying that we've got to raise taxes to pay for the climate change agenda. My question is simply what are we getting for those tax dollars? You know, we're a point where Americans have lost money. Because of the covered problem that we've got. We've seen businesses closed. We've seen jobs lost all across the country and and now you you want to raise our taxes to talk about to emphasize climate change. What are you going to do exactly? It's going to save us. It's going to do anything to benefit us. I don't foresee anything there and so, but that's that's coming out of this new administration and just get ready because he's gonna be a lot more just like that. It's it's turning out. As I said, Joe Biden is a lot more to the left and a lot more radical. Then that he seemed to be what everybody just talked about. That's just Joe. Now it's it's more than that. This Joe is is really going to press the pedal down on some of these issues like climate change. And it's gonna be it's gonna be big because it's going to reach into our pockets and really pay for nothing That is that is going to change anything on this planet or in space. We'll continue on the Frank Beckmann show coming up. We've got the news at the bottom of the hour with Marie Osborne. Then we'll continue with your phone calls the rest of the way in the final half.

Getting getting hold of people stand in an incorrect mail in ballots. Contacting those people haven't come in there and corrected my understanding and come correct me. If I'm wrong is that when I hear Baylin belt's being thrown out there being discarded for the very reasons she's trying to make a ballot. I don't believe her. Their staff had the legal authority to contact these people and making them the opportunity to come in and correct about. I just check that blows my mind. I know they come in and change your balance. Yeah, after the vote. But actually helping come in and correct it. But I don't. I don't think there's any legal precedent together. I think that's I think that's I think that's what she was saying was just to change it and biker. I think she used the term and that's just my guest. Now that she used the term corrected. In that. But here's a little size receiving applications for a mantle apply for Milan ballot are our Hamburg Township. We opted out of that statewide male up, okay, heart flecks of know what I'm doing it. Even though there are so many more cars on the road. I think now as traffic is kind of pushed into their people say they don't realize how fast they were going, or there wasn't so much truck got here before, you know, Then you get the same excuses that we got. You know, years and years ago, the restroom over you know I'm late for work, or I didn't cram properly. "And welcome back into the program. Everybody. It is our number two for this. Friday, July 31st Great to have you with us and on Fridays, you know, we always try to make room for more of your phone calls were doing that this morning at 808 590957 fact way we might add. Guess we could always do that. But right now we've only got one more on schedule. That's going to be no one. Finley coming up. The editorial page editor of the Detroit News and columnist extraordinaire. He'll be after the 10 30 news update with the cave. Um alright. Meantime you Ah, You may have heard that this this information originally came out through the voice of the Lions. Dan Miller. Who does the radio broadcasts here on WDR for Lions games, along with Thomas Brown and S. O Dan put out a tweet yesterday that talked about this How the lions have got a problem with covert right now. They? There are at least five players who've been added to the team's Covad 19 list. Okay. Another starter at a reserve were placed there of the defense of side of the ball yesterday. Quarterback Justin Coleman Tested positive for the virus on Wednesday after the day before he tested negative. So Ah, You know what? The chances of that happening? The word for the Lions and from Coleman's friends is that He feels great. He's shown no symptoms of the virus but still has to sit out because of the NFL's protocols on this. Alliance also place tight and Isaac Nora on the covered 19 list yesterday. Earlier they had placed five players on the list on Wednesday, and those included Kenny Golladay, the wide receiver and The tight end number one draft pick Ah, year ago, TJ Hawkinson, the tight end from Iowa. He's uh He's also on that list, so players on that list either have tested positive or been close to someone who has the covert virus. And Coleman won't be able to return to the team until five days after he tests negative on consecutive days. So ah, More lions are scheduled to take 1/3 straight Corona virus test today, and ah players with three negative tests in a row can then enter the training facility and Alan Park, take their physicals and get their equipment distributed. And then scheduled on Monday. Strength and conditioning workouts for the Lions practices start in mid August, and we'll see if there's any hint of some sort of preseason activity that might draw fans. We will. We will let you know. But the concern right now is the health of everybody. And you've also got a couple of undrafted rookies Jaylen, Elliott and Aaron Disciples believe it's pronounced or Cipel's I P. O. S s not familiar with him. Well, they both tested positive this week, but they but they said, Suppose Ah tested positive Tuesday, but he's asymptomatic. So that's good news. So you got the virus, but doesn't it? Were any of the symptoms of S. Oh, there you go. Lions, her now without nearly 9% of the roster because of covert 90 And we'll see if we have football this fall. I've gotta be honest with you, Chris. Run, Wick I know is on the line. I got to tell you, Chris. I'm concerned that we may not see football, pro or college this year. Because of covert because it's not going away as quickly as everybody had hoped in the medical community, and I I just really fear that the football is going to be placed on the back burner. Too much close physical contact between the players. There's no way that you can keep football players disengaged from one another. And I mean, this is a sport where I don't mean to gross. Anybody out here. But it literally has been known that players have spit in each other's face on the football field. And now this Corona virus going around. You know that that raises some some real health concerns. Obviously, that may not have been there before. With it where it's just gross that that happens and there's no will call for that sort of unsportsmanlike conduct, But but it happened and, you know, now that's going to be watched closely by officials. But they're still you know, you got offensive linemen, a defensive lineman. Engage these air, big men. Who, you know, they spend a lot of energy and a lot of energy comes out in the form of of sweat on their bodies. And so there's There's also all kinds of concerns there, and the safety will be AH, Paramount concern there'll be no fans, for sure in the stands. It'll be more of what we see. It's seven the baseball parks. I wish they'd start this in America we could buy. How much you could buy your own cardboard cutout. As I understand. Some ball parks have done that. When you see those cardboard cutouts and the seats, they're they're depictions of people. And Ah, then the rulers of a foul ball hits that cardboard cut out. Oh, and I saw this happen in the game The other night, I forget, which which game It was was watching game other than the Tigers and somebody a cardboard cut out and the the ushers rushed down and grabbed the baseball and then they find the person who's cardboard cut out. That is, and they send them the baseball. It's there. No, yes, true story of the fund. That's awesome. Yeah, that's really cool. So I wish they did that in America. Also on the sports front, some breaking news today's Cardinals and Brewers game and Milwaukee has been postponed due to a positive Corona virus test. No eyes that for one of the players from the teams for the Brewers of the Cardinal's, That's what it sounds like. I'm trying, too. It's there. Well, that's AH, That's a shame, but we're going to keep hearing about that until this this virus goes away. And right now it looks like it's making. Ah, second charge. And, uh so, uh, Will will keep reporting on it and you know what's going to be You look at what's happened in the N B. A. They're in a bubble. I mean, they they're not allowed leave. They're not allowed to go anywhere else. They have to stay there, saying with the NHL with those are those are smaller. If smaller teams you've got smaller traveling groups. I mean, it's just a smaller organized sports. So baseball you've got a lot more players and certainly in football. You've got a ton of player, so yeah, I've got hundreds. Keep those guys in a bubble. You have about 47 guys on your roster in football, 25 in baseball, and so that just gives you the numbers right there, And it's It's many more than you have on your basketball squad. Obviously. But you know, I just I can't see football being played. I got to tell you. I'm just the more I think about it. The more I ponder about it. I can't picture that It's going to be played. I think we're going to lose football for the year. Well. I think. Well, I think personally, Mike, my gut tells me we lose college football. Pro football. I mean, you know you you either already guys that are saying that they're opting out of the season. They're not going to play. But you know if everybody understands any sign of Pabian, he signed a waiver. Whatever you know, they're paid professional athletes, so that's a little different. College is is, you know, I could very, very much see that season being canceled. I just saw a release today from Ohio State that said they won't have more than 20% capacity at their stadium this year. In terms of fans. Yeah, so and that's not all that that the season isn't cancelled. It's absolutely because you know, the face it in the fall of state football is Columbus, Ohio. And you know what? That huge stadium every 1000 people there every.
