"And she did this. I think largely for Twitter, she told Steven nesbitt of the athletic who wrote about this that she put the odds of winker receiving this pizza at 0%, but it worked and the whole thing was sort of live tweeted and it became a nice story and the delivery drivers and ranjit Singh. He was in touch with dill and he did it. He delivered the pizza to gate 6. He handed off the pizza to a security guard and the cards, then did like a baton thing, a relay race. They took the pizza to the Clubhouse, winker got the pizza, and Sophie Dale, thanked her for the pizza. So this is quite a story. And I probably also would have put the odds of weaker receiving this pizza at 0%. Oh yeah. Would you have thought there was any chance that if you just brought a random pizza to a ballpark and said, this is for, I mean, I guess the odds are maybe almost better than if it were a home player. Maybe if you're a security guard and it's a visiting player, you're like, well, it's not my job to protect the visiting players and I don't want to deprive them of their beats or something. I guess it is your job to protect them too. I don't know. I just would have thought thanks, but no thanks, right? You know, it's the thought that counts nice gesture, but we can not be just bringing food to players, like if this were to become a thing, if everyone else were like, oh, this was cool. Now I will do this and I will order pizza for my team's players all the time. That would probably cause a bit of a headache at the old ball game. So I am surprised that this worked, but it did. So credit to the guards credit to the delivery driver who received, I think, hundreds of tips from the public who were appreciative of his efforts here. Cool. So that's a nice little bow tie. Yeah. This weird base brawl story. Base brawl, man. This is why we need my feelings phone booth, you know? Gotta. Yeah. Watch the games from there. Watch them from the feelings from. Yeah, speaking of physical conflict, the story that we'll never die and that we don't really want to die. The tummy fam, Jack Peterson. Well, I think I'm ready to run today. I'm ready to move on, Ben. I haven't is there another? There is another update. There is another update. Yeah, so it turns out, now this update was not instigated by either Peterson or fam for once, but on the Chris rose rotation podcast, Atlanta relievers, Tyler Matt sek and Josh Tomlin were on and this topic came up and Tomlin divulged and met sick divulged that this was going on for quite a while. So Matt zik said, this was going on all last year. What? Right. So Peterson was with the Atlanta magic was with Atlanta, so these guys got a front row seat here. Matt took said this was going on last year, so we would hear about this in our Clubhouse before this ever happened. The biggest one is when we went to San Diego at the end of the year and he literally did not leave the Clubhouse. What? The Clubhouse because he knew Tommy family was out there and tell your fam wanted to slap him and beat him up. And so he just stated inside the Clubhouse didn't take BP for three days inside the cage and then would come out for the game. It was fantastic. So the whole club has everybody knew this and he thought that fam had left the league and like he was good to go came out and then yeah, fam still wanted that. So according to magic. Lion low here for months and then evidently thought the coast was clear and little did he know that Tommy Pham was still lurking biting his time just the long con here. So how about that? You said you were ready for this to die, but are you? Okay, first of all, I can't believe that they missed an opportunity to say fantastic instead of fantastic that indicates to me that they are not punctures that isn't surprising, but it can still be disappointing. So that's one thing. The second thing is, okay, maybe I do want to know more because I know that we have had the facts laid out. We have had the facts laid out in what one could argue is excruciating detail from multiple sides. But I now find all of the explanations for the amount of force and feeling and longevity in this story to be somewhat wanting. Like, was there other stuff that happened between these two? Is there some epic story of the draft night for this league where jock Peterson took too long every single time and then ended up auto drafting any way like why I can not account for I know it was a not small amount of money and I know that Jack Peterson seems to have miscalculated the degree to which he and fam had a jokey fun relationship. But I really just think like if you are honored the impression that another person is that angry with you, you're going to hide out in the cages, that's the solution. You're not going to try to send a representative to the opposing Clubhouse to be like, can we broker a piece? Can we make this right between us? Because it seems very, I just think that everyone should go to therapy. I don't know, man. This is so weird. It's just so long to hold on to the stuff. It just.

"Don't see because they can't market it. They can't sell it. They can't sell a pistol peak Jersey. Black and white too. No, he's got 16 millimeter. No, that's black and white. They have it in color. There's full color, bro pistol P video? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, no question. Yeah, you'll see him. You only see one or two. It's just like the moon landing. You only see one or two of that. We're not going to get into the moon landing, right? Good. We're not going to good. Not talking about it talking about it. TJ, how was pride parade this week? You had to have somebody there to at least video it. I remember when I asked, I said, hey, can I get a camera to go down to the pride video? They go, where are we going to put it on the best dance bus? I go, yeah, it's going to be hilarious. It's a part of life, man. For sure. But I wasn't able to attend this year. He wasn't able to be able to go down to what I told you. So my car is all jacked up. So I'm trying to go anywhere at this point. Yeah, yeah. You do anything not to get gas. He doesn't even leave his house. You got to set me an Uber. Uber, my back is hurting. You mentioned the best damn, it's too bad. Mike's not here today because he worked on that back in the day. What was that like? The phenomenon of that show. I remember watching it in the early 2000s. It was awesome. I mean, I told somebody yesterday, I remember Joe buck said something that was a silly show and I got upset and Chris rose is like, come on, man. Chill. And I was like, what? Y'all acting like Joe buck is more important than what was I couldn't get it. It was a lot of fun because we had comedy writers writing comedy about sports and I knew that athletes were very sensitive. I knew they didn't have a lot of them didn't have a funny bone in their body. But it really got to the point Tiger Woods and want to come on. I got to interview him, but he didn't want to come on because the time honor was making jokes. But he wound up doing an interview with me because I'm cool like that. And I got juice. But it was the most fun. And I say this because I know these guys are going to watch, right? We have John ants, Weinberg, Becker, I don't want to leave all the names out because I don't want to do Cahill. All the people who are exactly the producers. I used to constantly say to them, this is the best job we're ever going to have. To get there, well, I got there one. The production meeting started one, so I get there one.

"Had seen them launching balls for most of the postseason and then the same thing with Garcia being able to have the he had extra villa that day that the last game that he threw. So he had a little extra something behind it. It seemed like he made an adjustment with his knees that was hurt. In the last start, credit to Brent strom being able to help him make that adjustment to be able to use his legs better, but I look at what they were able to do and pitching is just as contagious as hitting. So you look at the guys in the bullpen and the other starter saying, okay, this is what those guys have done to make an adjustment. We're gonna have to do the same thing, take it into the next series and facing the braves, which is a great lineup itself. I asked him perching yesterday to give me a comp for your Don Alvarez because I said to him, I said, you know, just with that approach he had against Chris sale the way he took the ball the opposite way. He said, you know, he's very kind of like Freddie Freeman like and then all fields approach. Tim thought more, David Ortiz, Willie mccovey. For you, who does he remind you of? Yeah, my dad showed me a lot of Willie mccovey was one of his favorite players. So I have to agree with the Willie mccovey because of the height right, but then also the ability to go the other way extremely well and just take his base hits. But when a pitcher makes a mistake, he knows how to make you pay. And the guy is extremely patient. We don't normally see power hitters. That patient at the plate. So to be able to see that has been extremely impressive. And then also the clutch hit. That's another aspect of what he's been able to do. All right, there's so many great storylines in this World Series. Tell me what's your favorite is among the Snickers. You've got the dad and his son hitting coach the Astros. You've got Freddie Freeman in a World Series for the first time in his long career. You got Charlie Morton pitching in this series. You've got the Astros players. Clearly, although yesterday they were talking about, no, we're only focused on winning four games. We're not worried about trying to reestablish our legacy. We know that that's got to be in the back of their minds. You've got dusty baker. What's a favorite storyline for you in this World Series? I think a favorite storyline for me in this World Series is two things. The fact that the Houston Astros kind of have a chance to show everybody okay, this isn't going to be attained World Series. This isn't going to be attained opportunity for us to win. We're going to show you that we can do it with quote unquote without cheating and without an advantage. So I think there's one aspect that I'm excited to see there and another being the fact that Atlanta gets the chance to be on a big stage right now. I think about the All-Star Game and how it was supposed to be in Atlanta. We were supposed to have that week there to honor Hank Aaron, but we didn't have that because it moved to Denver. So I think of now the city gets to have that stage right now an amazing opportunity for them to highlight whatever they want to highlight if they can highlight Hank Aaron, some of their past players, whatever it may be, but just having this city get an opportunity to be on a stage at the highest realm of baseball right now. I think that's a great, as far as a little substitution that we can do for the All-Star Game. What's your perception of why players respond so strongly to dusty baker? I think the fact that dusty, he's been in this game for a long period of time, right? He's done it for so long. He's been able to really navigate the ins and outs of baseball, but at the same time he hasn't gotten his goal of winning a World Series. So I think that's like the focus of knowing, okay, if I play for a guy like this, he's still motivated by so much. And the way he's able to relate to young players and older players better in players. He's done a great job of navigating that. And that was something that he was always getting a knock for. It's not being able to relate to the younger players. So I think he's proven people wrong in that sense. But then also proven, okay, I know how to deal with the new school of analytics, but then also deal with my own thought and knowing how to make moves in the middle of the game. Yep, having a feel for players for sure. I want to ask you about this. Chris Bassett, of course, all star pitcher for the Oakland athletics. It was on the Chris rose show the other day, and he was talking about the science scheme stealing scandal and according to Chris Bassett, this was an issue much broader than what has been portrayed. Give a listen. Well, no, I just think it was a point in the sport where the entire sport knew what was going on. So it was like, well, Houston's doing this, so we got to do this to try to keep up with them. And instead of someone stepping up, and I don't mean a player instead of the MLB or whoever it may be, they knew what was going on and said, no one stepped up. Everyone let it happen and unfortunately it escalated into something so big that John boy and tricking the Internet had to basically tattle on all the people and be like, they literally basically had to shove the proof in the MLB's face before they did anything, which is always it's always the case with the MLB. The MLB never is ahead of a story. They're always chasing the story behind and trying to cover up everything with the steroids. And that's how it's always been unfortunately. Now, it's interesting. I wrote a column back in 2017 when the Red Sox and Yankee said their Apple watch situation saying that rob Manfred needed to step up and lay down the law and make it very clear. Look, if you use electronics to steal science, then you're going to be in jeopardy being kicked out of the sport. And I've always thought that that was a mistake. The rob made and I agree with Chris Bassett on this, but it's very interesting because he sort of cast it as this being a sport wide issue. And what I would say to Chris, I'd love to have him in a room with all the players. All of your guys peers who came out in the spring of 2020 after the suspensions were rendered and criticized the Astros and said, look, what they did was above and beyond. Look, it was Clayton Kershaw, CC bathia, Mike Trout, players who weren't even involved in this, who weren't playing against the Astros in big games. So many people came out and criticized them. So, you know, I'm getting mentions on Twitter where you get Astros fans say, hey, what about this? Chris Bassett said this was that this was something that every team did..

That are wondering about daniel mcadams. He will be back on monday very good. I'm glad i'm sure they'll be a lot of people glad to see them. But they're gonna miss you too chris. We've been i get only good reports about you. So maybe it's time for me to take the occasion in have this But anyway i would be at a loss. If i couldn't come and visit but it's great that we have an audience that's very interested They know you well now and they certainly no daniel well and We we do this without a tremendous amount of money but we have a tremendous amount of energy and some days. We can be very very positive and finding good things happen like yesterday. I thought it was very positive. Today's not going to be so good because If we're constantly seeking truth so sometimes there's there's a pop up and areas a bit of truth come out and you say hey. We're going in the right direction but other times and unfortunately the majority of the times. We're hearing too many things that are very negative. What a visit today. chris with an article that appeared yesterday and zero hedge and i thought it was a fantastic article because it was reviewing You know an article written by glenn greenwald and this has to do with. We've hinted this and we have mentioned it. We knew that something was going on. Aclu where We have Found them to be allies over the many years over the decades really and We saw that. They weren't libertarians but they were civil libertarians and they were progressive democrats and they were pretty pretty good on it but all of a sudden something has happened Just very very recently. And this is what greenwald has written about. Because it was the aco you wrote an article an op at up piece op. Ed piece in the new york times you know belligerently defending their position. And i wanna start off with a quote from because it sort of tells the whole whole concern here and what's going on here because in this is this is one sort of got glen as well Because they've been challenged by some people say hey. Aren't you guys libertarian anymore. Don't you believe in free speech and so In this op ed. This is a quote They were defending themselves and their civil libertarian..

"Hello everybody and thank you for tuning into the liberty report with us. Today as chris rose any are co hosts chris. Welcome to the program to be with you. Dr pool very good chris. You and i've talked about What are subjects you will be today. And it has to do with an article written by one of our staff people adam dick and his up on their rpi site and he goes into some of the dangers. We've talked about this Daniel and i certainly have. And you and i have to the dangers of this passport. Saying you know the mess of it especially the vaccine passport. So a distortion of medical care and civil liberties it's just the horror and he points that out as main theme of his article was that You know it's it's a vaccine passport and there are some very short cars but the biggest one is morph into something else and it'll be a vaccine at Is is the universal passport. And that's what we want to talk about today. The potential dangers of that. And i think we already see that happening One of the most disturbing things that I've had to watch and see is when there's when there's a argument or a concern about this The administration and the cdc are getting tremendous support from the big big businesses corporations. And it seems like they're always already using as a tool maybe they're succumbing to pressure from the government because governments have a lot of control over social media in sometimes people and social media or the banking system or whatever are sympathetic to what they're trying to do there sympathetic to one world government and they sort of go along with it but From the very beginning. I think Most libertarians have been very very leery of this and it's getting Worse in some regards. chris i have to admit i keep my fingers crossed always looking for you know a better outcome and Even though the is becoming more determined it's becoming international and yet at the same time. We're seeing that. The resistance is building so if we don't do anything else other than give the people who tend to want to resist and think they should resist and they need some ammunition to resist some of this Authoritarianism at growing along with growing around the Universal passport the vaccine passport so That is our goal today. So chris Let me have a couple of words about vaccine passports. Yes thank you. Dr paul and i do recommend everyone Adam is a great writer. At the ron paul institute website. He writes a couple times a week and he always comes through..

"You have to try voting. Yeah that could go bad apple. Modern pole-vaulting was originated in eighteen fifties germany. When the sport was adopted by local gymnastics club. They used bamboo or aluminum. Poles had a little flex to them but in one thousand nine hundred volts began to use flex more flexible poles made a fiberglass or carbon fiber. What about water polo. If you're not a good swimmer. Like i think i could tread water for maybe forty five seconds. I'm guessing that would be bad in the sport like that. I could see me ending up at the bottom of the pool whilst they're jostling back and forth for the ball. Yeah but. I'm assuming that you can tread water for a little while it's when somebody is trying to dunk you under you. Don't wanna be playing water polo with your arm on the side of the pool and then allowed to hold onto the side. You getting tired because you grab your teammate. And hug told me. Yes if a lifeguard had come rescue you in the middle of a water polo match. That would be pretty embarrassing. So let's settle on a poll question here the club. I think this olympic one is destined for today's polka. Another one that we're dealing with here. Yeah i wanted at some point. And i don't know when is a cowboys hype justified. The ship they play thursday. Like it or not. It's cowboys that any day. Yeah we could do it any year. Can we event yeah. Do we have another jerry man. We have another one right jerry jones. So he's talking to michael. Urban chris rose with the nfl network and he talked about his stadium. Our game is not a studio game. Our game has to have. And i'm gonna be dramatic. It has to have the pageantry of the qasim rome when i built that stadium. Yeah i built it. So that ninety thousand hundred thousand fans could have a great place to. What's the cowboys. But a really built for that. Twenty five million people watching and i wanted al michaels around wanted chris. Collins worth troy aikman. I want them to say fans. You ought to see this place. Nice proud of what he built. Rome was in building today and neither was the cowboys building a good team. But you know the office. That's what i usually hear ban that offense going to be great okay. Even the kansas city chiefs knew they needed defense. You can have a lotta offense offense. But if you're giving up four hundred seventy three points going to have to score four hundred seventy four points. At least yes boy. You've been in that stadium before. I i know it's grand and it's got all the months that you want but if you're sitting above like row thirty anywhere above with most people are the tv takes over and your focus is on the big screen tv and not the live action on the field and it's hard to look down when it's bigger helped up there. Yeah i didn't enjoy the experience like you wanna see it but then after you've seen it. Would i want to go to that if my seats were like you can. How every single play people look at the field and then they look up at the monitor for the replay or the other way around. It's too much. I mean they always say things are bigger in texas. "A look at days like today and you think no reds game. They played an afternoon game yesterday. We already covered that for for a large chunk of the show yesterday. Probably not going to be a lot to talk about today. probably going to be a slow day. We're gonna we're gonna manufacturer. We have to grind and to earn our money today. Oh con rare mover. The biggest news hit yesterday as as the show was winding down. And i didn't really have time to get my head around what was happening. You see some tweets. But you're in the middle of the show you get like you know two and a half three minute commercial. Break kind of digest. Something then more information starts coming out. Things start piling up and oh this is a big deal texas and oklahoma potentially leaving the big twelve for the sec and like with most expansion rumors when it when it started yesterday. Everybody kinda met with. Yeah okay yeah sure another expansion rumor and then as the day went on to the night went on. No no this is. This is very real and a lot of shockwaves rumbling. Across college sports tell you this now. A lot of people expected this news to come. We'll get into who expected it and and who was behind putting the news out yesterday. That's fascinating because the league didn't come from texas oklahoma or the sec. Who came from quite fascinating. And of course what does it mean for the bearcats. The jockeying for repositioning as it begins is already underway. And you know the the musical chairs seemingly have started a gain. Can the bearcats find a seat when the musical chairs stop. Where will that be well. It'd be a good seat. They'll have a see just kinda seat that they're in the seat that i had at brunch on sunday not great. My back is still messed up from that seat. Taryn was worried about me today. I was hobbling around. So i asked on twitter last night. What should be topic. A and i know a lot of my following is college based because of bearcat journal. Everybody wanted me to talk. Talk the domino's conference realignment topic a today so we will get to that in our next segment the topic gay segment segment where we set up the show right. The topic as segment is the first segment after this. So we'll talk about what it means. We'll we'll talk about what it means for. Uc probably spend a good deal of time on it in this hour. So that's that's one thing that happened. Then i stop and grab some dinner last night and fortunately didn't get caught in the presidential traffic which was nice. Got got settled in to usually. When i get home. I sit down at my desk in my office. Either some games or or start. Getting things organized forgot radio the next day. Get things ready on the website. A podcast things of that nature. And then chris rose interview with nick. Castanos comes out the castanos re reveals. He's gotta microfracture and his wrist can't swing a bat as that story develops likely out for a couple of weeks. A couple of weeks into august with nick castellanos by the way contained bell. Just stop saying everybody's okay. After something happens thank. He's going to be fine nothing to see here. Hope to him back in a couple of days and we don't see the guy for a stink in month. Just shut up to say. I don't know also. Why did it take five days to have his wrist. Scanned should not have been scanned. Blasted like like friday night saturday morning so that they didn't play him on monday to potentially do more damage. What are we doing but boy big ramifications with nick. Castanos the anchor your three hitter. You're all star your mvp candidate now out for a couple of weeks and the trade deadline is eight days away day off today on top of that. The next seven games against the cardinals here. Friday saturday sunday and then four in chicago against the cubs. I know there's like we talked a ton about the reds and their relation to the brewers six and a half back by the way you realize the cardinals are one game behind the reds. The cubs are two games behind the reds. If this team doesn't pick it up and do so. Without nick castanos you could be in fourth place by this time next week fourth place. You know what you ain't doing in fourth place you ain't buying and if you are a whole lot of lipstick on a pig ain't it trying to put a band aid on severed carotid artery without castanos. Don't you have to think about becoming sellers and it stinks. 'cause you're gonna you're going to have to put casts the honors on the injured list. There's not going to be anybody. That's going to trade for nick us with a broken wrist not teams that are looking for sure fire. Help down the stretch right. You don't know when you're going to get him back. The reds wouldn't get anything near the quality of return if they traded nicasio on us now but wait vilely lewis castio. There's names in there tucker barnhart some names in there you could move and get some decent return on investment. You have to at least start looking at it. I don't know the buyings going to do any good. We'd all love for them to buy right. We love for it. But if you're not gonna logistically like realistically make a run and put yourself in contention. Put yourself in position to win the division. Just you're just selling assets that you would think are going to be relied upon to help you down the road. Why would you. Why would you get rid of guys in the long term picture for guys. In short term picture that's bleak.

It's a um this was not a swing your partner round and round, just dance a little bit. They got it on in the visual of Terry Francona, uh, rolling around the Braves player, the visual of some other Reds play. I mean, they it was a legitimate brawl. It's on the blog at 700 wlw dot com. "Attack machine out there. Yes, you mind stepping through here? It will go off if you have Spider attack on your person. Spider Tax smelling dog. Yeah, right. So at the end of the day, yes, there's There is a frustration and I think you have to have empathy for these players because you because for years the lead did not give a crap and then all of a sudden in the middle of the season. Coming off a pandemic shortened season where they didn't get their innings in Now you're asking them to make an adjustment on the fly. Once again. It's they're trying to make the players look bad. Yeah, I don't think that's a great way to run your business. No agree. Well, here is the last word from Rob Manfred. I understand there's a history of foreign substances being used on the ball. But what we are seeing today is objectively far different. I believe there is truth in that. But I think, Chris you what you just mentioned is the overarching point. This is a chance for Major League baseball to use a bat. And see if they can hammer the union over the head and see if we can get away with maybe cause some dissension because mucking up that union it seems to have been baseball's priority for a long, long time. Hey, man, Good luck with the with the podcast end. How about media? I really like to work. That that's done over there. Just the deliberating and given us the inside sounds of baseball. I think it is a great tool to really get into the game, you know, And it's not surprising that has done outside of Major League baseball. So just want to give your big ups on that. It's a good outfit over there, man. I'm glad you're with them well. We appreciate it. It's a ton of fun. And I always say this is that we're kind of You can decide, however you feel about sports and but We kind of give you like the truth like you guys can decide how you feel about it, but you're going to hear from the players. "And who knows? Maybe they'll hit he'll hit the right equation. I agree with you, though. I think at some point we're going to see the Padres and Dodgers hit a stretch where they win every day and eat up some of this ground. Yeah. Um, but we'll see. Hey, listen, I hope that the three team race I wanted to be a three team race because then it comes down to Which GM is willing to pull the trigger. There you go. And, yeah, that makes it so much more fun when guys are getting added the last two months of the season and make a difference because there is a huge Huge difference between winning and division and having to play that one game because it's it's one game. Let's say its the Braves come back and win the East and Let's say somehow the the Giants hang on and finishes the second place team. And the Mets are better than the Padres as well. All of a sudden you're one game comes down to facing Jacob to ground. Yeah. How's that sound? Okay? Not fun. Like I had a baby I had. I had a guy in the N L. West told me that he's like it is imperative. We win the division because we could end up facing the Graham in a do or die game. Nobody wants that point. No, no, not at all. Talking to Chris Rose here on KNBR. You catch him on the Chris Rose rotation podcast. He will be coming out with his second podcast. I hate the Giants sometime soon. I'm not sure when, but it should be. Albert. You are really? Uh, yeah. Okay. Good luck. Your liquor case. Oh, you can't your phone stuck to your hand. You can't grab your keys. Uh, well, you know what, Chris? It sounds like This year because the Giants are, you know, kind of new and doing it, but it sounds like Tampa like Tampa Bay. We we just kind of take them for granted. Now that they're going to be good, because they've been good when they really have no reason to be good. I mean, they're starting pitching is incredible. I mean, you look at the starting pitching and they just throw guys out little bit. But I mean, yeah, Exactly. Glass now went down last night, which sucked I don't even know if he went down, Chris, I go. Why did they only pitched four innings? And because it's Tampa go. Well, he could have got hurt. Or it could be Tampa. You never know what Tampa how long they're gonna let their starters go. But Tampa has been doing it for. I mean, it really is. You could literally talk about them, You know, once a week And just how amazing it is. They're doing what they're doing in the division in which they're doing it, But they've done it pretty consistently now for a while, she almost like, Oh, yeah. Tampa's up at the top of Tampa's won 10 games in a row. Yeah, you kind of expect Tampa to be a good baseball team, and then you look at the team you like. You can literally ask yourself the quiet these guys good. How do they do it Every single year. It really is one of the more amazing stories in baseball, probably over the last 58 years or so. Uh, yeah. There, um They're amazing, and we had the discussion actually on on talking baseball, which is the main podcast over John Boy media yesterday whether or not the razor good for baseball there consistently a bottom five payroll team. If you were to go to your average Heck, even a Giants fan named me Four guys on the res outside of glass now. Like, Could you do it, man? I don't know if you could bread. Phillips, Randy Arozarena. There you go. Uh Wow. Be here be here all day. Meadows. Uh, D D s. Yeah. No. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. You just got dealt. Thought, All right. Oh, did he dammit? Yeah, Tommy, Tell them what they won get credit for that. You guys get three tickets to that dump inmate Petersburg. Watch the Rays plate bugs or Orioles The week of August 22nd enjoy guys. Uh, I What do you think? Because I think they are good for Baseball is always like having, and they still feel like an underdog, even though they're not an underdog there legitimately one of the better teams in baseball, so there really are. Remember dogs? No, I know That's what I didn't say they had their payroll is 1/4 of the Dodgers and the Yankees. It's not I agree with you board. So there, it's Here's the thing where it gets tough. They don't develop stars, and it's because they don't want to pay them so they will raise them on the farm. We'll have them do good things for our team. And the minute you know, little Johnny or Judy becomes a raise fan and orders their jersey with the name glass. Now on the back, they get traded. And that's how they do things. And that's a tough way to sell a ticket. It really is, you know, I mean, think of Look at the Giants. And then look at what the AIDS do. Now the AIDS have been extremely successful over the last few years, but aides fans like if you're a parent, can you justify spending 130 bucks on a Matt Olsen or Matt Chapman Jersey when you know they're going to get traded at some point That's a tough way to go get a retired player. Giants fans have been lucky, right? They've had their Crawford jersey They've had their Brandon Bells. You know, they've had their Buster Posey, Jersey. That's That's pretty special. So let me ask you this because I think this is an interesting question that we throw around every every so often and the A's have run into this. The AIDS have been really good. But haven't won the race a bit really good, but haven't won the Giants..

"The thing was consuming me. It was consuming. Everything i was about and i didn't like it. I didn't like the direction. I was headed and simplified my life and i was like. Oh my god. I wish i could do that. Like don't you get a panic when you can't find your phone's all like you're right and if you're anything like me you've probably left it in the bathroom. Where's this thing. I know it somewhere. You know you're. You're you know that. The chris rose rotation features. A nicasio us. It's part of the john boy media network. We have tweeted out a link to the youtube page at molecular this is. This is a question that you could probably. We could probably spend the next twenty minutes talking about. I'm i'm not gonna not gonna keep you that. But just the general direction of this sport which competitively economically culturally in many respects. Feels like it's if it's not approaching a crossroads there where gimme some thoughts on. Just the the overall just state of the game the state of the sport words going where it should be going and frankly where it should not be going. Well okay. i've got a few thoughts on it. I don't think we've ever had better talent under the age of twenty five and we have right now. I really believe that. I think group of players and players that are marketable and fun to watch on a daily basis. Numbers are huge there. It's great so. I think athletically like where we are. I don't think all of them are amazing baseball players. But i think that's part of the fault of of the teams and how guys are being off. I mean that's one thing we talked about with. Nick was anything he said. Basically there's one swing plane being taught like that's not the way the game's played because it's such a situational sport like usually ground ground out the second with nobody on doesn't help anyone aggrandize.

"And it's it's a shame the rest of the team hasn't lived up to its billing yet but one thing that nick really gets into is how much he wants to win for the city. He's playing for. He talked about one thing. You know those detroit teams before he got there. Were great writing. Made the world series in twenty twelve He said the one thing that stuck with me is that they didn't finish the job. I was like nick. They were really close he goes. Yeah but that doesn't matter. He goes chris. I grew up in the miami area. And all i remember is ninety seven and two thousand and three and what it meant to the community down there. He's like that's what i want to bring back to cincinnati. It has been a long time. It's a good people. Queen city have enjoyed something like that. He's like that is why i'm busting my butt every day. It's why i was so pissed off when i got suspended. It wasn't because oh my god. They're taking ten grand out of my pocket. It's because i wanted to play one hundred sixty two games so that we could be the best we could be like. I had the good fortune of interviewing this guy. Maybe a year after he got into the big leagues and then just interviewing him two days ago. He's totally different person. I'm he's still has a lot of the same traits as competence. Someone call it arrogance. Which i think is actually a good thing to have in your pro athlete. But his ability evaluate himself and his purpose in this game and how great he wants to be pretty impressive where he is. You know you go back to the incident against the cardinals and were biased. I thought it was stupid that he got suspended for two games. Got which are all right fine but to get suspended was was silly but when he yelled at jake woodford that was its reds cardinals. Cincinnati has been saint. Louis whipping boy way too long. We fancy ourselves as rivals you know. Let's face it. They typically get the better. And of of the reds. That was that was cathartic like that was that was a yell for a lot of people who have have gotten tired of the reds being kicked around by that team and the moment that happened. I mean you you could just feel it. You could see it. You could sense it. He was instantly into the pantheon fan favorites and then he backs it up with the season that he's having which i don't know that the statistical totals will keep up but he's put himself in the mvp conversation despite playing for a team that's been spinning..

By the way, it's good for us seven o'clock because actually last night to your point on those national TV games on the back to backs like NBA TV. I think we took the 7 40 years less. Yeah. 35 4 gets it runs late now. One year 1997 copes probably on your radar. Nine. A Giants Marlins Game three Friday night Candlestick Park the blank out of here with that kid, you know, I was at that game at Candlestick Park for that game diva on White Grand Slam. Came over. That's season's over on duh. I want to say Copes first pitch. At least eight o'clock might have been a little bit after two. That was when they did that phrase Giants. I mean, the Giants got their got their revenge on that that system because it was it was two games in Florida. That's where the better seed Marla Giants were. Division Champs Marlins were wild card and the Giants had to open with two in Florida in a best of five What they were division champs, and they're, like, Go on the road and play too. Yeah, Cross country. Your best of fun. You're the better seed. You get one home game. What you guys would go hop on a plane? Yeah, they can't be everything we can't. I mean, I'm everybody that came late man later, Remember, Remember, I did not know the song Leave on by Elton John. But my buddy, my sister and I went with my buddy Red Bear and shut out Springsteen, Timmy, we all went that We sat in separate seats, me and my sister said together Springsteen, Simeon and Red Bear set somewhere else were to meet back at the car in the parking lot, my buddy a red There was house, too, as he staggered toward us in the car, and he was singing and shall be de von. And he shall hear the Grand Slam and I was like, What's he taught? I didn't know this song leave on by John. So I always sticks in my head that Devon white cops. I want to stay off of the lefty. They got from the White Sox in the trade. Alvarez right, Horatio, and they got Roberto Hernandez, who hit one of one on the gun. The closer Was the white flag trade the White Sox did, and the Giants got a lefty starting pitcher I want to say is, does Wilson Alvarez sound with myself? I was gonna go, Horatio. Think anyway. Divine. Why hit a grand slam to look up to make sure that when that I want to say that first pitch was at least eight o'clock, which is crazy. Unless you're in these coach was guess it's normal life. The irony here is that he was saying De von for a song called Leave on and Leave on was the like the VP of that team. That's right. That's good girl, So I don't think I pitched in that game. But that's layer is going on here Layers anyway. So Chris Rose 35 55. Our daily do sit ups and 9 35. You like you home in on great last name. Well, that's a big part of the mystique. Now, you know what I mean? Well, here's my first scenario with Lippman. I don't know. It just popped into my head. Where it be like I'm on the phone with rags copes and in rags like Hey, can you come pick me up and I'm like, No. You know what? I can't? My dad just took my car keys away. I'm in trouble right now. You know what? Hold on. Let me call Lippman because I think Lippman can use his old man's car. Lippman's gonna come pick us up. That's my first. That's I'm just trying to incorporate some women imagery. Yeah, they'll be here in 1935. Okay, little lift, man. Good stuff, man. All right, Here's the deal. We'll be right back with some warriors.
