"A free agent, and that may have factored into his decision, but I mean, it is interesting usually you don't hear of players turning down contracts like this, guys, who don't have a job otherwise. But again, Matthew has proved himself over the last couple of seasons. And Dante exam is another guy. Got waved by Houston. Big name was one of the top players in the draft at that time. What was that the 20 14 draft? That he was in when he was number four. Was it that long ago? God, I hope it was. I think it might have been. That was the joke. That was the Julius Randle and Marcus smart year. Right? Or am I mixing up my drafts? I'll look it up while we're here. No, I think you're right. I gotta keep going. Anyway, I'm already I already, yeah, you were right 25. Here's the number 5 overall. Time has flown by, but don't take some look, he's another big name and played well for Australia over the summer. And so I'm a little bit surprised and then I'm just gonna piggyback all these. So jabari Parker also waived by the Celtics, and we'll talk about that when of course more in depth. Avery Bradley waived by the gold State Warriors. I think we look at some of these guys that are getting cut right now. You look at the fact that teams aren't using all their roster spots, but you look at some of the names that are still out there. I think big, big picture. This is an argument for why expansion, the NBA is ready for it right now. The names that are out there on the market are guys who really, I mean, garrison Matthews. This guy should be on an NBA team. Dante X should be on an NBA team right now. This is a strong argument in favor of expanding the league and whether that's Vegas and Seattle or wherever else. They're looking, I think you can look at the talent level right now and say they're ready for it. Yeah, absolutely agree. Now I think to the other thing is then look at the box scores when we get into playing games starting here in a few days. And some of the guys who just don't play, because that's how deep some of these teams are. I think yeah, there's more than enough talent to support two more teams in the MBA. A couple other big names is you were kind of hidden on them all there are a couple more out there Harry Giles. Yes. Lost lost. Battle ties a heart Stein, who got that spot. We're going to talk a little bit about those guys there in a minute that earned those spots. But yeah, so Harry Giles is out there, the trailblazers, Marquis, Chris, Patrick Patterson, Quinn cook is Dennis Smith, junior, won that final roster spot there in Portland, pouring on the course is one of those tax teams. It's going to carry an open roster spot as well. Yeah, it just Tyrell Terry, the Mavericks. He was the 31st pick in the giraffe just two years ago. He was waved. They ate two years ago guaranteed money to do that. Ishmael Wainwright from the raptors who had showed up pretty well and some early gand in preseason. He was caught, so those guys are all kind of moving on here..

"Secretary so many other senior people we could see from dominic cummings his whole demeanor. The he's absolutely out to get hancock so that you have to slightly take some of the things he said with a pinch of salt. Though you know you'd have to take it with an absolute bucket load of salt not to some of it might be true in you say bucket soul we should win out the although dominic coming said he would provide documents to back up his claims about my ankle. Lying emerged yesterday that he has actually failed to do so. And unless that changes you'd expect and got to raise that on thursday all. I can think though it must have been like for the health secretary to watch. The hems will advise say all of this about him that committee will. I should think there was some fruity language. I mean i know from people who've worked with hancock or do work with hong kong that it's it's very very difficult. The thing about cummings as he just he has no loyalty. He has no sense of any sort of cho's so it's just absolutely no-holds-barred. It's quite difficult for an elected politician in some ways to respond to that. Because you know hancock still in the government he still has collective responsibility skin in the game as it were. He's he's still in charge of the nhs. It's quite difficult for him to respond in kind really in any way to cummings because you know he still has a job to do. Thank you mr mr speaker. The these allegations that were put yesterday and repeated by the bright will gentlemen are serious allegations and i welcome the opportunity to come to the house to put formerly on the record that these unsubstantiated allegations around honesty not true and he say matt hancock has already answered a lot of questions about these accusations since dominic cummings gaither evidence as he was on the weekend and he responded to an urgent question in the commons the day after he hasn't shied away from responding to people on. This has a no. He has this sort of central thrust affairs. Evidence really is. Were doing our best at the time every day since i began working on the response to this pandemic last january. I've got up each morning and asked what must i do to protect life. That is the job of a health secretary in a pandemic and his supporters. Say actually he was very early to see that vaccines would be important. He was very early testing ramping up. Testing would be important and they argue. That cummings was going around briefing. The press and telling civil servants not do what. The health secretary said which was quite quite undermining If matt hancock has already been able to respond to some of the things cummings said why is he being questioned. Tomorrow wise facing. Mp's in this select committee such a big deal. It's a high powered committee cliche. High hyper committee but it really is sort of senior. Mp's very senior chairs. Jeremy hunt of course was behind coach. Predescessor greg clark. Former business secretary. They're willing to spend as we saw with. Dominic cummings quite a long time getting into the nitty gritty of what happened in those early days of the crisis and they know the territory extremely well. And there's just a sense you know from the other hearings that joint committee have had that they are determined to do a sort of a first pass at an inquiry. And it certainly the closest thing we're going to get to one for quite a while and some of the key moments during the crisis at which we've really had fresh insights or new understanding into the government's thinking have been in front of this committee whether it was chris patrick balance the chief medical officer in the chief scientific adviser. So i'm just asking you on that. Crucial question of the timing of the lockdown. Were a following your advice. So i am confident that the the the ministers time we've learned things throughout from seeing key figures properly interrogated at these committees and so i think it will be quite important. Matt hancock is going to be honest about whether the full reopening should happen on the twenty first of june. What do you think he'll say about that so he was asked about this at the weekend. In fact and sounded more cautious. It seemed to me than we've recently heard from the prime minister. The prime minister's line has been. I haven't seen anything in the data. We suggest that we should delay if the data turns bad when you would you Delay the twenty first of june openings. Well we're absolutely open to doing that. If that's what needs to happen we call. It was a bit more you know. My mind is open. And he talked about this sort of race between vaccination and the disease that we have to assess what point we are in that at some point in the next week. And how that's going. I mean quite a few scientific experts. Were saying perhaps it might make sense at least delay even if it's only a couple of weeks to get a few more jobs. Dan and allow us to sort of get out ahead of a little bit more. But boris johnson will be not wanting to have restrictions and he's certainly got a lot of taurean piece breathing down his neck. I mean it's a rerun away of a kind of row that we've seen repeatedly throughout this crisis isn't it but i think we can expect matt hancock to be on the cautious side of that and i wouldn't be at all surprised if you drop some hints in that direction. What might we learn heather that we haven't known before about the way matt hancock government handled the pandemic. You're going to be looking out for. That might be new. So i'm interested to hear what he says about border controls. That's one of the issues where the government seems to have been slow to act and certainly dominate. Cummings keen to point the finger at boris johnson. And say he was very skeptical about sort of stopping flights and so on. That's an interesting question. Is one of the things that experts pick out as failing in the early stages and indeed you you could still say it's a failing now. Why wasn't india partner redlus earlier for example. I think almost anything. He says about the p. Procurement in the early days is is very important because you know there are lots of families who feel that their loved one would be alive today if they had the equipment that they needed. This was the man who was meant to be in charge of providing it be quite interesting to hear in detail his account i think of those early days and of course. All of those lockdown decisions are also still very live very interesting in particular the one in the autumn that dominic cummings but a lot of weight on the you know his description had the prime minister pseudomonas going rogue at that stage. Where was the health secretary at that time you knew. How did he feel about the fact. That prime minister was parting ways from his scientific adviser. I mean i. I very much doubt. We'll get anything disloyal from hancock. That's no in his playbook. But i think be very very interesting to see how he justified himself coming up. Could this select committee hearing decide. That hancock's political future crafted in the heart of germany's black forest. Monkey forty-seven jin is a favorite among the world's finest bartenders with an unmatched array of botanical. "Giants are 75 homers Overall this season and ranks is the third most in the majors behind Atlanta with 80 and Toronto with 77. How about that? That is quite impressive. Against right handers the Giants Air 22 13, the Giants have hit the right. He's really well. They have the best record in the majors when facing a right handed starting pitcher, So that's pretty good there 10 and three over the last 13 games against a righty starter. Wow, let's go places now, with the Toyota out of town scoreboard. On this memorial day. We always used to have all the doubleheaders on Memorial Day. Now you need a rain out to get a doubleheader all right, twins and Orioles. 11 That is in the bottom half of the ninth inning in Baltimore, Big Syriza in the Bronx, the razor there and against the Yankees. It's the bottom of the eighth. The Yanks just got swept by Detroit. And they're losing that one to the race. 3 to 1 in the bottom half of the eighth boy, the Rays are on fire. The Brewers air hot, They've won a few in a row. They're playing the Tigers today. It's the bottom of the fifth. Barnes Burns on the hill for the Brewers doesn't walk anybody and that is nothing. Nothing in the bottom of the fifth. The red just starting to win again. They lead the Philly 6 to 1 that is in the top half of the fourth. The Phillies really struggling The Padres with Chris Patrick. This is one we're interested in. He pitched today against the Cubs. The Cubs use coal Stewart, who was making having a second start of the year, and it's the top of the fourth inning and the Cubs lead the Padres. So this is good news for the Giants, who knows what could happen today? Maybe first place that isn't the top of the fourth Indians to nothing over the White Sox in the top of the second Red Sox and Astros just getting underway. The Athletics and the Mariners. Seattle has been hot. That is a cop brilliant, and Logan Gilbert, the rookie in that went up there in Seattle that will be starting soon. Nationals and the Braves, Joe Ross and Charlie Morton. The Braves are trying to put it together. The loss of Ozuna is not gonna help. White socks and Indians have a second game of a doubleheader, Pirates and the Royals, Cardinals and the Dodgers. Well, how about this matchup? Harvard Westlake's Jack Flaherty back home. Against Trevor Bauer. Well, that is one tonight at six. Then that's a good one. And the Mets and the Diamondbacks at 6 40. Jacob to Graham and Merrill Kelly Boy. Good luck to the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight. For that one. We've got Dylan Bundy and Johnny Cueto here. And AH, think about Memorial Day and what the meaning is and let's enjoy baseball today, Cook and keep on baseball coming up next right here in the sports leader,.

"Are these markets quite simply the best. All right. Welcome into extra innings. Bill Lasky, sitting aside a cup, my fellas in the studio as we push on to the extra inning postgame show. It's not really a good post game show is the Giants. Clobber today at Oracle, 11 to 1. Uh, San Diego Padres just came out and played. They were not going to get swept. Last weekend. Same thing happened to the Giants. They lost the first two games and sure enough, Gausman was the stopper last Sunday. And they ended up escaping one and today that's what the Padres did beginning of the game, though. I mean both these pictures, Chris Paddock, as well as Johnny Cueto didn't pitch in a while, and Chris Patrick was Covert 19 type release. He was not a nonroster since April, and sure enough, he went out there and pitch three Good innings. He was he was He pitched very well. On the other side. Johnny Cueto, who hasn't pitched live since the end of April. Hey, didn't look good. He didn't have the location that he did. And he didn't throw good off off speed pitches. The slider was a spinner, and it cost him and I just really would like to know what he did in his rehab starts. If he had any of that sounds like he hasn't had any sound like he There's some BP and maybe through an aside. He said he was ready. But Put him into the fire against the Padres after losing two games. They didn't think of anything about Johnny quieter today. They they just took it to him in the second inning and the third inning, he escaped with a nice catch by Dugger. But it just didn't look like the old Johnny Cueto. And when you start looking at what he did before he got hurt with a lap. He pitched well, you threw against Seattle through five and two thirds pitched really well against Colorado eight and two thirds And then his last start, five and two thirds against Cincinnati and then April 14th. He went on the aisle, and since then he's been trying to recover and a LAT strain and it just didn't look good. And I just I'm puzzled a little bit about His rehab and his rehab starts and I keep saying we don't know if he did if he had an inter squad game up in Sacramento, the alternate site But he got thrown into the pack of wolves today and 22 home runs to two run home runs by curling Worth and two teas just chased it. Chased him really? After the second inning. He just was baffled. He he just looked rattled. Posey was trying to throw so many different things down, and nothing was working. Um, you can't throw off speed when your fastball is 92 93. It wasn't hitting spots and That was one thing he threw 64 pitches. 39 of them were strikes. Three walks. Um one walk eight hits, five earned runs. And like I said to two run home runs, and and that was pretty much of the game. The Padres really through their bullpen after Paddock Weathers through Paul Real well, he's been throwing really well for them. 21 year old lefty foot gone through. Well, Pomeranz. They finally got to run off and it Adams came on. And really, Delta just didn't like his little antic when he struck out talk, man. Like Get out of here. You You're nothing. Okay, That's okay. Come September. We'll see how you are Adam's, um, but you know some of the things that happened in block games. Of course. Darren Rough goes in in the ninth inning and tries a lot of things in there and get outs and At that time. The game has been moved a 9 to 1, and you definitely don't want to use another reliever. Alvarez was shook up after he he threw the ball, the sucking. He had a double play ball, and when he caught the ball, he was on the front of the mound, and what he didn't do was get balanced, and he ended up throwing up. From the front of the mound and sure enough that ball elevated over. Floors, his head into center field, and that was really a double play ball. If you watch it to tease who hit the ball wasn't even running the first base. He he was pretty much saying, Hey, it's a double play ball. I'm just gonna run it. Run slow and get out of the inning. And sure enough, he threw in the center feeling and it really cost him. Uh, four runs. That's what ended up happening and the air from two t send it up, with Grissom hitting a triple. And what have played by talking. That was off the edge of his glove. But just a great tribe. I talk, man. I really like how he plays one for five today. Um, you know the leadoff spot. We're missing less Stella. I really would like to maybe see your strips. You jump back in there and put talk minutes as a second hitter, maybe flip it a little bit against the Rangers on and see if there's any changes there. Steven Duggar really was hitting the ball well, today struck out and then they double switched on him. He was eight for 19 in his last six games, punched out in the second inning, but he put a nice defense and center field crawl again made a great play in the seventh inning. On the Wil Myers ball, or I should say the criminal worth ball, and he flipped it to second to get Meyers. But there was this nothing there. There was no excitement. The bats were were silent. They only had eight hits, and they were sprayed. Across the game. There was no life and I think a lot of that life got taken out of him. In that second inning won. The Padres scored four and then they came back, scored one and a third. It was five to nothing. They had a couple opportunities during the game. You know a couple guys on in the third inning strikeout, Slater struck out and then talk men and your strips. He got bass. It's And imposing and belt went down with Kay's. There wasn't really that many opportunities, but they just couldn't scratch it. It was a dead day for the bats and you know it was pretty cool. I always like seeing all the Major league baseball players wear pink and, of course, is the awareness of breast cancer because it's mother's day. It's a school at the catching gear. That pink was a little bit too bright for me. It was pretty cool, though, when they weren't Caselli had it on as well as a victor Caron teeny. But when you first put it on, there was funny because even cooking Keiper just like Wow, that's pretty loud. For a catcher, but you know, it's cool for the game. It's good that you know the socks were on and hats were on the San Diego had the pink s a D on your hat. The Giants had different things. Of course, cross gonna wear anything Pinky can get on. The uniforms. I didn't I didn't like really the pants up to the knee, and then the pink socks. That was that's too much, especially the brown uniforms. That didn't really play well. But it was this a tough game. It was really a tough game for the Giants turned the page and they got to come right back and play the Rangers..

"Lot. Yeah, I'm sure you will. And you know, the other side of things for the Giants is up until the very end. I mean, the Giants actually had probably more scoring chances than the Padres did in this game of the Giants built up a lot of chances, and they you know they didn't catch him in. And then the last two innings, get ugly with a defensive mistake. And Darren Rough making his first pitching appearance of the final score looks totally out of whack that Janu. There were a couple moments there. Mean Brandon Bell that a big bat where he could have done some damage in the third inning. It wouldn't just belt it was supposed to, and I was good pitching by Chris Patrick. Really good pitching by him to get through that when you even just one or two hits. In in those spots, and who knows? Maybe the whole game would have turned out different. Well, look, it's it's a lot of what was it. The Cincinnati game were to two run home runs, and they were down for nothing, and they came back right away. Uh, so that you know that you hope that's gonna happen, but It is hard to sweep a team as good as the Padres. I mean, I don't care where you're playing him. Look, the the Padres had a chance to sweep the Giants. Last weekend in San Diego, and the Giants won the final game on that Sunday. So anyway, then lost on Sunday, So we had to happen, and it happened here today and They don't face the Padres now for more than four months, but In these first five weeks of the season, they faced him twice in San Diego. This is the first time they played here. The judge went five and four against him overall. So I think the long view still looks pretty good. Considering how many games they had to play at Petco Park, which is There's never been a great place for the Giants, much less with this Padres team that they're so excited about down there. And we'll see how they do in the summer because I you would think that this team is going to get itself together and The Padres are still going to be very good, but the chance did pretty well against him overall. Yeah, when you think about what Darvish twice smell three times, you know, Patrick goes, It's not out of the ball. I'm.
