"J. V program, Doug Stephan with Jennifer Horn and Victoria Keelin J at the radio. Okay, so here's The continuation of the The conversation about all of this mayhem that we continue to wrap ourselves around every day, and I chuckle about it because it's the whole thing. Almost gets to the point of being silly if it weren't so sad that so many people get hurt by, um just kind of avoidance of reality on the part of some people who just don't want to deal With reality, and some of those people are in charge and some of the mind. I am old enough to remember. When there was an immigration policy when there were laws on immigration that were adhered to. I remember when we didn't have the mass mayhem. On our southern border. Have people come into this country illegally forever? Yeah. When we did a lot of stuff illegally. We Yanks we took land. It wasn't ours. In the name of America. We did that. That was that was illegal, but we did it. We've done a lot of things as a people that we're not cool. And so now, you know, it's it was done sort of in a different way. But if you see the expansion if you understand the expansion of the the Western territories in our what is now our country. There was a lot of stuff they've got done, Uh, that was expedient and not necessarily legal. And so what is being done now? I think that doesn't make it right is expedient and not necessarily legal. We have laws for immigration. So mm. All I'm suggesting is that we adhere to them and stop with a romance and stop with the advocacy and stop with, uh, you know wine. Where? Where? About it, even though some of the things that are going on are awful. It is, you know, one of the things that's going on with regard to immigration that isn't understood. And maybe it's more going to be underscored because of what's going on with Afghanistan's lot of those people are going to be immigrants are emigres to America. How many of them have covid. Yesterday. That's not an evacuation came into this country and they tested positive when they came into L A X Yeah, they're coming in it. It's not just that They're not flying into l a X, but they're flying into Dulles to all of these other airports, and they're going to military bases. But there's a couple of questions, and this is one of the criticisms because this is so fast because it's so expedited to get him out. Are you really able to check now? Some are going to bases and getting The full screening both health and biometric screening to make sure that they're not on any kind of watch list. But there was someone who was just uncovered who was not who was on the plane of evacuees who was trying to just slip in with the crowd of Afghanis. And it was someone on the known terror Watch list who was not able to even travel legally. And so then you have that question. How many people are we just flying into this country on our dime so that they can be here too? Create a problem some sort of terror attack or something like that. I don't want to be a fear based thinker and don't want to think that there's that many, but I think the other side of it is I have a tendency to be sometimes a little naive. And I tend to kind of put those things you know. You look at Kabul and how things have changed their under the Taliban, and just what a month. How long have there's been been much more than a month? Anyway, It just is pretty amazing Other things so quickly can change. And we've seen some of that stuff here. Covid change the reality quickly, once in March of 2020. That it became known what this stuff is up. Look at how our lives changed quickly. I made up my mind in four hours after learning about what was going on. And then when you get stuck in California, hyper daisy in the car, I was not planning on driving the car back to Massachusetts. I was going to get on a plane in an orderly fashion. The first week of April. Like I normally do and bring Daisy and me back home to Massachusetts, California four hours after I've pieced together all of the information That was coming out of everywhere. I just said Nope. In the car, we go. Let's put a few things in a bag and left. And so I mean, you think about how quickly things really can change, and that's the speed of sound if you will. That affects all of us. And so anyway, I just want us to think about some of the aspects of this people in the news, Cynthia Nixon. Took a shot at Andrew Cuomo was didn't she run for governor? She did write once. Yeah, she didn't from sector action, but you know, but she was an interesting things to say. So what did she say in zinging Cuomo? He certainly is. You know, he's a candidate for getting zing. Is that correct? Is that the past? What is sing? What's the verb in Zing is averse. Zings Hang zoom thing. Yeah, she said quote. She tweeted the difference between me and Andrew Cuomo. Neither of us is governor, but I still have my Emmys. And then everyone was like, Well, what? I should be away from them. And then Yeah, So he got an Emmy for, uh, the he got it. It was a special honorary Emmy last year for his daily coronavirus briefings. And so then they they took that any away from him because of, you know, All these issues and you know his resigning and the whole thing, But, yeah, I didn't realize that I knew she wanted me for sex in the city. But I didn't know that she also won an Emmy for law and order s V U. That was in 2003. Yeah, she was continuing character for a while. She was on. Yeah, she won for best guest actress, every single actor and actress who lives in the tri State area. Has been on some episode of law and order over the 25 or 26 years or 27 years that it's almost have to factory right of passage. That's exactly it. That's how they get caught. That's how Chris Noth got. He was on as a kid. One of the episodes in Dick Wolf really liked him, and that's how he got the job being what was his name? As the detective on Brisco was, It was, uh, What's his? Wasn't he paired up with Jerry Orbach? Yeah, But Briscoe is Borough box name. I'm trying to think of But his name because he succeeded in being in a couple of other law and order spinoffs to one way or another. All right, anyway. Another name in the news is Herschel Walker. How many people remembers will walk to raise your hands, please? I remember him and I don't know. I mean, I know he was an important football player. He played for what Professor? He was from Georgia. I know that. I remember when you get the Heisman Trophy when? Yeah. Big College star. Yeah, but he played for the the weird, like kind of like it was and it was an indoor. Yeah, it wasn't. What? I don't think it was indoor. But he was he played for the Jersey generals. So everybody's summer. He knows who he is. Right? Yeah, I think Trump actually owned that team, So he and Trump go way back. All right, so he's filed paperwork to run for the Senate in Georgia. Against Senator Rafael Warnock. I don't know much about Warner. Just one. He was what? He was a special election. Yeah, but Herschel Walker needs to figure out what state he really lives in because this is they've already launched an investigation into why his wife they live in Texas, and he's claiming Yeah, but he's very well, Lovely Georgia and according to like Hillary Clinton did the same thing in New York when she ran for the Senate. There, they actually moved to New York. Yes, and I think he's going to move. But I don't think you have to live there. See certain rules apply to different states, for instance. You could run for California governor and not live in the state of California. So it depends on their already looking into why his wife decided to vote in Georgia last year is not a resident, so I don't know those that's that's from the Georgia state officials. They're looking. He's going to shake things up. Because people are. I was gonna say they must be worried very well, There wouldn't be digging around, so yeah, right. Isn't Marjorie Taylor Green from Georgia. Yeah. Your girlfriend? Yeah. Yes. Yeah. My girlfriend. OK? Hmm. I love that. Don't you talk about all their weird conspiracy theories, and she's in that bird, but she's she's an interesting character. All right. So let's see what Herschel who is a black man? Runs as a Republican how that works with the Democrats who think all black people are supposed to be Democrats. And by the way, how's Larry during what's the latest? Clearly? That's not necessarily true? No? Well, Larry's another example of that so very elders idea that somehow Democrats are just assigned to get all minority. Right..

Your girlfriend? Yeah. Is yet my girlfriend. OK? Hmm. I love that. Don't you talk about all the weird conspiracy theories, and she's in that bird, but he does. He's an interesting character. All right. So let's see what Herschel who is a black man? Runs as a Republican how that works with the Democrats who think all black people are supposed to be Democrats. And by the way, how's Larry during? That's the latest? Clearly that's not necessarily true? No? Well, Larry's another example of that. So very elder an idea that somehow Democrats are just assigned to get all minority. Right. Failing. I mean Hispanics, Latino voters are really becoming conservative very quickly because of the push to the far left by the Democrat Party. Larry today. The update still doing okay. Still fight. Right. Speaking of them wandering around? Yes, the house has passed the budget resolution. What's the the party lines? Right to 22 to 12 Pretty much Isn't that how it is? There's Let's see the you add that up and that comes to 4 32. And there are 450 perhaps right in their 450 in the House of Representatives. E five is 4 35. Oh, okay, So only three people didn't vote on this then. The package that expands our social safety net at a cost that nobody can tell you what the cost really is. I always love these things. Okay, we'll figure out how to pay for it. After we enacted. That's the whole problem with the damned government because they keep passing these things and they don't know where the money is going to come from, So we'll steal it from one of the you know, like the transportation. There's the whole transportation budget and that budget But the Transportation Safety Fund there's the airport Trust fund is the associate. All of those have rated There's not a penny in any one of 3.5 Trillion in conjunction with all the other money we've spent with Covid I If you think the inflation is bad now, let's talk again in like six months. It's you know, it's funny about inflation. Because it doesn't you feel I was noticing the cost of gasoline. Some of the the I'm doing some work on the farms had to buy some lumber and some things you know the Thai HVAC and Copper flashing and things I needed for the project, and I looked at the bill. And then I looked at the guy. I went to the pro desk even Some of them. I get a home Depot's What I couldn't get at the local hardware store in the local lumberyard I got from home Depot. So I look at this guy and I What these prices? Oh, yeah. The price has gone up on plywood. From about four biggest story lover is ridiculously expensive right now. Yes, but doesn't were also to do with the Canadian border has been shut down for so long because my dad works in. My dad is a landscape supply company and he has had to the they've had so many issues because the Canadian border has been closed down. For all kinds of wood products, So I think that that's not a surprise with with lumber. It's been an ongoing problem so inflation has hit it just recently, but lumber prices during the pandemic were really high because of the border shut down the breaks in the supply chain. More people buying lumber because they had more time to work on project. I mean, it's right, but that is one thing that has been hit on both sides, essentially, and it's crazy, All right. So I have been advised to be nice to Kathy Hotel because she's a nice lady, and you shouldn't speak ill of people that you don't know anything about. And so what? I I am just advice from somebody anyway. Um, she said she was so the advice that I gave yesterday. Okay, just checking. Okay. But she says she's a Biden Democrat. What other kind of Democrat is there? An AOC Democrat We got. Yeah, She's very centrist. She is. She is probably she's very She's similar to Cuomo in the sense that Cuomo was It was criticized constantly for being too much to the middle sorts the right and she is very mouth is too moderate. She is very similar. That's what the public is. Don't they realize that who is it? That doesn't get where the party is going. It's a but in the state of New York, which I have always said, should be two separate states because downstate and upstate eight and have so far differently. I mean, it's crazy. So when I guess in order to be to be elected governor, which is why Cynthia Nixon made no traction outside of Manhattan and the five boroughs. You just You can't be that far to the left. You're just you're not going to win in upstate New York. Uh, not at all. It's farm country, Trump country and my friend who runs the auction company. I've been sharing springs got a big trump sign. In his yard rabbit farm country in Trump country or different things. Trump and farmers did not go over there. And then in many instances, well,.

Yeah, well, you know, we've been telling you about how They're definitely going to be doing a reboot of the show, with Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis all back in their original characters, not Kim Control. This is such a sad story about the school of rock, young actor and drummers. Yeah, it really is. Kevin Clark. Was his name and In the in the motion picture. He, uh, played Spassky McGee on the show the drummer. As part of this, you know, band that was put together by the substitute teacher, Jack blacks, you know direction of putting this band together, but he was riding his bicycle very early. Yesterday morning in the Avondale neighborhoods like one o'clock in the morning. Something like that. Somebody blew a red light and slammed right into him, and he was Pronounced dead on arrival at Illinois Masonic Medical Center. He was Kevin Clark was on Lee 32 years old. And really after school of Rock didn't really have much of a movie career, he veered off into music where, hey played in lots of local bands. He was considered really want a really well respected percussionist of by lots of local bands, and they're gonna be doing some tributes to him at some of the clubs and venues. Over the weekend to pay tribute to Kevin Clark. Another honor for Chadwick. Boseman. This is this is a nice thing is that is that is all my moderate Howard University. They are Going to be renaming their school of fine arts for him, the there will be ah building and a new endowment. Which will also be named for him in a little bit in the future, But it's kind of interesting because he graduated from Howard University with a bachelor's degree. In the year 2000 when he was a student, he protested against the university's merging of the Fine Arts College into the College of Arts and Sciences so that it would return by itself to be a college of fine arts. As as he wanted at the protest. How about that? And now named after him is a next Tre Nice tribute to This talented young actor only 43 years old when he died last year of colon cancer. Finally, we have a date now for the Tonys, don't we? We do it. They just announced At the Tony Awards are going to be moved back to, uh uh, September. Now. They were going to be doing it a little bit earlier in the year to try to keep it in the month of June like they always do, but they have moved back to September. Number one, but also because these award shows are just getting killed in the ratings. People are just not watching award shows like they used to. Because you get the information online. There's a lot of different ways to find out who your winners are. But what they're going to do is give away the vast majority of the awards on a special two hour show that will be on the paramount plus streaming service. And then later on a two hour special on CBS that will be almost up just performances from Broadway on Lee the performances plus they'll give out the awards for best play Best musical. Invest, you know, overall production of the year, so they're really trying to streamline it. Line it trying to figure out a way to get people back to watching the Tony Awards. All right. "Actually a better person for this. The only person that did not go through that transformation with carey. So sarah jessica parker still rotten. She learned road from what i could tell. And then the movies just were i in my opinion so that we know so the the redhead cynthia nixon. She didn't wanna live in brooklyn but she ended up living in brooklyn so that was her art and child. She didn't wanna have a child. She didn't want to get married. Have a child. She didn't live in brooklyn and one by one in all of her should about her life. Insurance are intentional hearing should sort of dismantled and she eventually learned the very last scene of the very last episode. She really embraced. Like i'm happily married woman with a kid in brooklyn and she was really happy and she became a caretaker for steve's mom and it was just like everything that she was afraid could happen to our happened to her and she embraced it and then charlotte was Was be is. She wanted to be married to another wasp. We kinda guy but then she ended up. You know not marrying a jewish guy right and then. Adopting a chinese kid wanted this beauty. She wanted a beautiful white privilege. guy in the upper east side and have beautiful children with him and you know she she. Everything looked good everything. Her wedding looked perfect. The man looked perfect but it was all miserable with with that is has has cynthia and i mean so much has happened since the series went off the air especially with cynthia nixon for political office. Will we see some of that. Real life things coming into the into the characters. Well there's potential there. And i don't think you need cottrell to take part in it to lower that what happens now to these three women at this stage in their life and i feel really really glad again if they do it the way. They did the series not the movies. I think there's really potential to tell some interesting in depth stories about the spirit of these women who are now in their fifties. And that's so rare. But samantha patrols. Her story arc comes to an abrupt end because she started out a horn. How to who loves sex right. He's very howard and she's very independent. She's very empowered. Then she meets and falls in love with the guy who did in the fifth season who she doesn't end up with and then she gets breast cancer and she has to deal with You know her body. Not working for her. Getting chemo and and i believe she has to me. I think and then she comes through it and she lives through it and she ends up Finding a really really close relationship with the young boy with the actor. So do you think they're gonna be drinking cosmos or they're going to be ebbing eating edibles. That are cosmo flavored. Good kristen as people. Don't drink as much. They do edibles. It'll be fascinating to see how they work in the pandemic because they can't ignore it it's new york city. They cannot ignore the devastation of the pandemic though these women are so privileged that they may not acknowledged the pandemic. There's a lot of interesting directions. They can go with it. I'm glad they're doing it. What about chris noth. Mark feely twin. Big mark is now the age that chris noth was when he started playing. That character even been younger. I dunno and he's ten years older than me. I think i thought it was like twenty chris..

As a law school graduate from a prestigious university, she could have easily stayed on one path for her entire career, but Debra refocused on her love for film, and had a strong sense of purpose and wanted to pursue a career she was passionate about. Deborah was open to all the amazing opportunities that then came her way. Second a secret to debra success has been her ability to keep her business model current in the ever changing world as Deborah shares quote you have to change. You have to stay abreast of what's going on and you have to stay relevant. "Okay so just over a week ago we had a wreck commits in the UK so Salih Dolphin on that one I think that's got to be one of the graced ever episode titles right needs in the UK. I Love I love that I thought that that tickled my funny bone and and then like you could pardon but sorry okay pretend that didn't just interrupt you now that I was just throwing throwing panel. I like a good plan but I don't think that is one who started earlier than I got got a play on words. It's got like two letters that overlap with anarchy apparently somebody might say this later. People saying it around in the social media space talking about this much-vaunted writer's room that was referred to instead of the pre publicity then he won a few examples. I can think of chips. Mrs Commission referred to is that the one of the other writers came up with the title Eric is in the UK him and his new spirit of Democracy Chrissy. He said that's brilliant. That's amazing. I'm having that well done but if that's what he's bringing us then I think you'll get back to their own quite frankly. It's it's it's a restructuring the horse it bloody well isn't Richard. That's a wjr small profit saving one story well one the one that made it anyone that didn't Iraq needs in the it doesn't work because he put the emphasis the stress on the different syllable well. There's enough. UK's we're GONNA take every bit it was only in Sheffield wasn't even the UK hey well and how much of Sheffield because I wasn't entirely clear on that point. I'm afraid so Iraq. It's in a small part of Sheffield yeah well. I think we're now starting to boil down. What the problem with this story was? If indeed there was a problem giant pool. You'll them sending now okay okay. Let's let's yeah okay well. What am I thought is I yes it was it was only listen some of its parts? I think that story I think it had some goods to action. It has a fund. Um concepts I think what that it down from Maine was just the seem that you winning souls goals and general mechanic subtly enjoyed I'm I look on the positive side here. seventy enjoyed Chris noth although once again we had a hidden or molenbeek as kyw's. Let's put it that way you got to wonder offense. apparently the nobody paying any further attention whereas normally one Spetsnaz you to give him some kind of come up and it's something that that Oh Vinton lesson and I felt despite as we used effectively and intensive being as about the limit of how scary doctor who can be given it some given family show and yes I must confess also a bit of an Arachnophobia myself my momma. She said she voted what would what the story was about says she hadn't watched last week's because that so the invasive evasive step it might be turning off but yes. I just felt that they were it seemed to you may perhaps a fear of any what's his at that time to what she pawns. It seems to me that there was joining plus oils in there and I kind of feel like it's the kind of thing that way you know without wishing to hop back to the previous ever it is still fresh enough as and Scottish thing that we would have just accepts it in Stephen Mullets as just being part of Coda mullets way of doing business. It wouldn't have been any less annoying but would have just taken it for granted this. Yes Stephen Moffatt skeptical CDs now. You're wanting joining great puzzles in their night what happened to despite whatever locked in that room and goes eight. Am What is the doctors saying kill him but let's locomotives room and then what's a nuts I kind of feel like in this new volt of simple storytelling. in Syria is one is supposed to know what's going on all the time and with we're they're all on the same page having great big puzzles left unresolved feels yeah feels more irritation to me than in Sunny West even office juggling twenty different plots since we three different times streams one of them going averse and even these Alonzo well okay. I'm I'm going to stand up for this story. I'm not gonNA say the I loved it but I thought it was those decent don't and my observation about the plot holes is that the story comes to a sort of hot apart end and it's daytime and then the next thing you see is the tha the new Tartus crew assembling outside the toddler son. It's nighttime so so there's there's definitely some elapsed time between the you know that that pause and the end of the story so obviously all offscreen is possible people that they go round and mop everything up in that piece of elapsed time and I just couldn't bothered to share it to us so I think it's yeah I think that's a fair point and that's the kind of that kind of tussle fitting that we've become accustomed to to fitting the gaps things makes sense but it just it grated with me in this case because it just felt like hang on it something where where they could just vote him one line the Dan they didn't even took event with a pal of mine last week he said well that would have been the idea is you just name checks universal something that but they didn't even have to have to do that all the Delta could've safely taken the spy to live with them shall be friends with that. You know what would have much preferred that that sounds silly but it's is the sun's fiction program we sent Delta do for more extreme things resolve a story such up tune including dragging the planet earth back across the Galaxy Father Todd is transient and if you can do that it's becoming slightly more fantasy show than pure science fiction show which is fine then yes. That's that's a much better ending because it's at least proactive and visually interesting and and it's just something because locking them in a room and leaving them until the food runs out is is not dramatic doesn't really matter what you right you would do if we were there and we and we have the same morals as the doctor and that was the only solution we come up with fair enough but you want some bit more for your flagship Hoekstra preternatural television program it just go get one you give us something because we rammed armed. US after your initial not so I think consensus amongst fandom EST everyone likes the opening credits and the pinching the thing changed sort of creepy basie could almost have been written for this episode. It's dark is cobweb either things creeping about uncurling around and I like to I thought it was a proper old-fashioned slice doctor. Hey once again. He had a story could follow all the way through my kids sat and watched it with me and I fell in love with the show when I was about three and a clemency survey wanted to. I wanted to see so badly but I can't gainst by grownups enough never lost the love of the shy so if there's one thing that comes out to this series in the rebate I hate that my kids will fight to see see every and they'll push me out with way of the trying to watch it so I think I think the kids might pick up the torch from stories like this we expire discussing scuttling around it was a fair amount of if human as well Chris was I thought he was excellent. When I think that I saw a couple of weeks but I think he he shot the giant spider I asked my youngest what you shot the spider and eight normally lights guns and games seems like that and he's sitting night? I listened to stop too so I think he's I think he's picking up. The reigns there so I've really enjoyed. I thought it was creepy. There was tension at last. I think the other guys has said already it. I think it's a common theme. There isn't much genuine threat but I thought this one most better you. You weren't quite sure what was going to come through a wall or upper plughole or something something like that so much better from that point of view and you've got a good look at Sheffield Israel lovely Sheffield Skyline. I never thought I'd ever say that that fantastic anti-state so another another another beautifully filmed episode again and we're GONNA WE'RE GONNA get into motivator about the cost and the friends later on but they had a role Oh to play in this episode as well so I'll give it I'd give it a nine out of ten this one. It helped my attention all the way three. I thought the spiders were fantastic and I saw is a strong strong Jodie whittaker performance as well so good for me. If I like what you say by the way you'll kids enjoying it and if is repeated across the country if it's true that is bringing back families and children and nonsense fiction people and people who would just baffled all left cold by the way the program would be being is untested good thing I would not be challenged not to say that they won't like it just because I'm slightly nonplussed but I do. I can't imagine a version which would achieve those goals. which would please all of these people in the same way that this is and stir PAPP's? Please me as well. I'm those posing could write it but I'm saying like not entirely sure why Christian will counties a clever man's professional writers got a lot of experience I i. I don't know why it's it's falling short me what Jones said about it being less than some of its parts is episode rang intrigue me up there was lots of good ideas and they're just didn't quite think they fitted together in a way that in a way that satisfied me and it's tricky though I feel you know from sang pedantic advice don't list list Tim but no I'm not going to a dental onto just become prosaic about it but I'm not concentrating when I think that doesn't retired to that and that doesn't really tied to that and you didn't follow through on that I I I don't know I think maybe you have to be in Iraq to to enjoy this one on Alec spiders so despite his Co.. Hotel I didn't see scary things open on big. I'll think you'll words. Give me hyper to pope because I'm thinking on liking it because it's better than what went before and you'll sign and Charles is what you're saying could be even better thing I said good thing. You know you don't sing rubbishy just so you know it could be. I think the potential you know some good ideas for how this story could have been even better. I think that's a good thing I'll preempt something I might they later on which is the don't say out loud but we've had five episodes full written by Chris chip. No one co written Weedon to what degree I enjoyed eh three Rosa so much more than the other four and I'm not saying this as a Christian hater about is is fun too premature for me to make the new series as a whole because we've now got five to come over the next four not going to be no hang on a three more writers. Haven't we three more non Chris episodes to come some really looking forward to seeing new voices are able to do with it. Yeah and particularly particularly next week is different writer yeah so so you need more data and if that's the case then I will will be able to say that his instincts and what to do the pregnant but corrects even always agree with the execution which comes as positive doesn't it. I Miss Positive poll from last week think I knew I wonder if it's too premature to reveal him. He's gone back on the cousin against disagreed with any of your any of your positive points that you might that I think you know I think Oh yeah absolutely i. I agree it was it was well done a felts. Yes Oh said when I go and survey media did they attack at all sort of have a go at the pulsing. I didn't I enjoyed it in the bones but it just it just felt like it didn't. It didn't Tyson's together at the end. It felt like it lifts. Necessarily oviously you know hang on what is that uh-huh upset then not so much just things that don't connects afterwards again substantive my pollyannas is and some will convince Disney time missing all plot strand left there because it seemed like the whole thing division of flats. Yes well yeah. That's it was just begging for spider to merge in essence threaten. Yes has his family and it seemed like that's looked to who would know wh I I. I'm not listing than by. We've had a lot of those non chekhov's gun moments here. I is quite good trick to week after week. Introduce a check of gun and not have it fired. They're very clever in subverting our expectations or he's just he's just first drafts night is bachelor. Absolutely rubbish is bizarre I was going to be is it just to make us creeped out every time we cut back to the flat or did you just forget about it but never mind all that how far are waving the ten centuries this hotel if the spiders are in the center of Sheffield.

"I'm like, okay. You're right is Lennie Briscoe standing there. So TV I've never seen an episode of that. So I guess we're even. Yeah. The show you've never seen an episode of the ten thousand episodes of law and order now. Oh, you're missing out, Chris noth, and what was Prisco's name Jerry Orbach, those two. Yeah. Benjamin Bratt was a close second to the Chris. No, Jerry Orbach thing. And then it just keeps going on like they were so good at all of them were just a mania. But yeah, a lot of stuff took place in central park. So I feel like I've been there. Here's what you do Minh. Next time. We go to New York. I know that we typically stay downtown stay up by the park. Well, let's just like get out in it. I've developed a taste for the Upper West side. But but but not the park. Right. You're so close I will go out. I'll take a hillock up. Out of my way, I like Lower East Side and Upper West side of my two favorites in New York Hatton. Interesting. Yeah. What you like lower side. I like it. All man. Oh, I mean, my very favorite part of New York York's the west village for shows. Nice. But I like the recited like it in the east village, still grungy. Is there such a thing as the lower west side Wall Street now like well? I mean, Wall Street's all the way down, but I would say like. I mean, I don't think it's called the lower west side. But like the meatpacking district. Okay. Yeah. Like like the high line. That's probably lower west side. Really great. Art galleries in the meat pack. Yeah. Oh, man play. When I first started going, New York that was when it was still shady of there, and like you would walk through like blocks and blocks of industrial meatpacking plants to get to the one bar that was opened the known art of Giuliani came in different clean, the place up. Well, just thank God for him. Right. So the design of central park greensward. Oh, yeah. Like if so much information to go right now should this two parter. I don't know let me ask you has our podcast gotten more conversational. This question aside. Hesitant. I don't know. Okay. I think we've always been conversational. Yeah. But I mean like, this seems like a pinnacle of conversation all let me say this. I think episodes one through four fifty or less conversations than four fifty through twelve hundred. Okay. But what about what about twelve hundred on? I don't know. All right. The greensward plan. If you didn't know anything about central park, you may be under the misconception that they just sort of squared it off in rake some things around and and it was like there's the park, right? And like, let's just protect the screen space. But it was highly highly highly designed, oh, yeah. And apparently, they used as much explosives as would later be used at the battle of Gettysburg supposedly more to blast away rock and move that rock can remember the glacier that moved all that down. That's a big problem when you're trying to build a park. Like planted hundreds of thousands of trees swamps that they couldn't drain they build in further to build like. Yeah. So it was and I don't think anyone really thinks that like, oh, they just walled it up and said now we have a park. But I don't think I even realized how highly it was designed, and which is probably a testament to their design because when you walk around your dislike it all fits, right? That's I mean, that's the thing. Like, they're they went to a lot of trouble to make it look so naturalistic that you just assume that that's what the land always look for and central park is actually highly managed highly designed Greenspace yet exists in rectangle that when you're in the center of it from my from what I've seen in order. You can't tell that. You're you're like in the middle of the city and that like, the the the roads, none of them are straight. They're all meant to curve. There's meadows that kind of like..

Jessica Parker Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, Chris noth and others from the seminal series now marking its twentieth anniversary the first day of production of the series. I walked couple of blocks to set and never looked back to throw a spotlight on the shows earliest days in an effort to understand how it all got started. And some of the craziness from there. Sometimes women are having sex. That's really horrible. And that they don't even want to be having. You know, it was a shock to the system in a lot of the critics were just like what the heck is this the whole. Real wag. We're better or worse doing origins, deep dive into sex in the city this story behind the show that revolutionized the adult sitcom and reimagined the attornal search for lust. And of course, love they were like, let's just make show if we all are happy. We'll do more get no an apple podcasts dot com who never you. Get your shows. Okay. Let's get back to our chat. So like in this quest for south actually station. I know you became the healthiest person alive. Didn't you invest aren't you related to China? I am -actly very actually hold on. Let me I have it here since I hear it is. We went to base book. If you're a couple years ago to Facebook live with Gwyneth, and it was. Maybe one of the best moments by life because she did it publicly, and then they close it down just for Facebook employees, not parts not broadcast and this kid gets up in his so nervous, and he walks to the microphone, and he's like, I I did some Family Research, and like this is my familial name. And Gwen ass-. I don't know exactly who. But I think early great grandfather was like a rabbi in Poland. So this guy tells her last name, and he's like we are distantly related, and I think I'm your like fourth cousin and she just looks at him deadpan. He's so nervous engineer at Facebook. Looks at him and deadpans and says, oh does that mean we can't have sex. So AJ apparently you cannot have sex with. Debatable. I am married. So that's another problem. But she is my wife's first cousin once removed husbands. Nephews. Wife's third cousin once remove very, we're practically brother and sister. So yeah, I love that. She was one of shoes. One of the first people. I searched weirdly enough because I knew that she was part Jewish and. Yeah, this was a project where I. I it started. Because I got this crazy Email from a guy who said, you don't know me. But I'm your twelve cousin. And I thought it was like he's gonna ask me to wire ten thousand dollars to ninety or you, but he turned out to be legit. And he's one of these people who are building the biggest family tree in history with the goal of everyone on earth will be United in the street. And right now, they're over one hundred million people on it. So I have a hundred million cousins, and and Gwyneth is one of them. Which means she does too. She's related to Baraka. Actually, I think I found bent. So I think you and I are cousin. There you go. I wouldn't be surprised now I can see it resembling. We'll my wife is is dish Jewish people are very close. So I actually did marry my cousin. She's like my fourth or fifth cousin, but we are. So while like the whole world of twenty three and me and the discoveries that people are making their parents about. Yeah. I know one guy in my book was he had nine brothers and sisters, and they did DNA test and found out none of them share the same father, like the the wife like Maury Povich to the ninth degree. So there there are dangerous. I mean, the point of the book was my hope was all of this will show that we are all one big family. Just like, you were told his kids, and that we will treat each other with more kindness unless tribalism and not be like, you know, relied. And there is some evidence of this. There's a Harvard study that showed when they told his rallies and Palestinians how closely they related they were kinder to each other. And I've seen it on a personal level. I call it..

"This debut sponde- the free birds fifteen year run twenty eight world championships in different federations at election to the professional wrestling hall of fame and the WWE hall of fame. I mean, if you watch very first promo that he cut here, it puts current wrestlers to shame and this was their first of on air promo and this guy killed it. Then they had their match. But the one thing that they were known for that still takes place today with different tag teams. It's something that it was called. The free bird rule bows knotting his head. Again, talking about both tag, teams are comprised of two people will the free birds were comprised of three people, so they would inner change what second person was on the tag team and what. The team was gonna look like that night, and the free bird rule has been utilized by callous tag teams over the years. I think I found a list of over fifty online and many different organizations also use the same thing. I think it's actually used today in WWE. I think the shield use it in my correct the new day is actually the ones who brought back that rule being reinstated. All right. And the wa- the whites use it. I don't believe they did. My last experience with it was like cry was act smashing crush for demolition. Yes, that was one that was on there as well. And how can you dislike wrestlers who originally entered the ring to Leonard Skinner's free bird. They also entered to Willie Nelson's Georgia on my mind at some point. Yeah, they did it. It's it's amazing because if you look at it, these guys brought that rock and roll presence to wrestling in the early eighties, the kind of revolutionized not only just the tag team wrestling portion, but regular eighties wrestling as well as you saw throughout the decade. Every time we talk about the eighties and wrestling, we always talk about the rock and wrestling Aaron, how big that was. This was way before this started Rockin wrestling before there was a rock and wrestling. That's right. And if you think back even before these guys, a lot of wrestlers didn't even come out any music, and if they did it was just like some royalty free shit ragtime. Nothing like nothing like. Free bird. I watch wrestling, I would watch wrestling if all the restless came out to ragtime that that would be. I kinda wrestling ragtime wrestling and they all come out and big, thick tweed shorts and Joan de hats. That would be my rest. You laugh, but didn't they try that? Not too long ago with the vaudevillians that lasted a whole Cup of tea. I'm so behind the times. To correct myself. I said mean street, it was actually bad street USA a machete USA zone. And he actually Michael Hayes performed that song on his own quite terribly at the hall of fame ceremony by the way. All right. Well, he's he's a little long in the tooth these days, so, but those are I two picks. So what do you guys? Got, okay. Do you want to start us off? I'm going to defer to you Joe, the guest of owners evening. All right. Well, I'm gonna go ahead and wipe guys out now with any words, but just a sound effect. Yeah, law and order started in September, September thirteenth of two of nineteen ninety. It was on for twenty years. It tied gunsmoke for the longest running live action series of all time. I actually technically ranks higher because the first six seasons of gunsmoke were actually half hour episodes, whereas they've all been an hour on law and order. They've been nominated for two hundred two awards in that twenty seasons. Just you name it like your enemies, your Peabody's, your Golden, Globes, all across the gamut. You've seen every possible actor on that. I was just growing through the Ryan db today, and it was just megastar after megastar in even just single episodes. And you've got people like j. k.
